The Cronin House for the Supernaturally Disturbed

This house has been up and running for years. Over 100, to be precise. Of course, it all started with one family. A man by the name of Alan Cronin and his own family. For years he was haunted by something that was never quite documented. After his death –– from an unknown cause as far as anyone can tell -- his now-adult children began to see similar symptoms. Determined not to let anyone else die, they began to travel, looking for answers. Rey and Meyer Cronin travelled from their home in Europe and jumped from country to country. Along the way, they picked up stragglers -- people suffering from strange and difficult situations, latching onto them and their knowledge. As their rag-tag bunch grew in size, it became unsustainable to cart them around. So they travelled back to their family home, taking their new friends and family with them. The house was more than big enough for the eight of them, and thus, the house was filled once more.
Ever since then, the house has always contained at least one person. Protective spells and wards from every culture and practice have been cast and layered over one another around the house over the years. A garden providing the home with self-sufficient food was planted, a water tank installed. Sound-proofing for when exorcisms went wrong, a sizeable library and (recently) a decent internet plan were installed. For the younger kids, tutors or correspondence school was set up, and sometimes, those who could got jobs and went out into the world.
For many, this was a place to recover and recollect after a possession or exorcism. For others, they would never be able to leave this place, their particular gifts, talents and susceptibility keeping them there indefinitely. It's not the only home of its kind, but it was one of the first.

Welcome, to the Cronin House for the Supernaturally Disturbed.

In Recent Years

For all the years it has been running, there has always been a caretaker, if you will, to look after the younger children and to make sure no one dies during their stay. Traditionally, this has been a priest. Someone able to effectively keep demons away and cast them out if they do find their way into the home.
They are also the person who is the main point of contact with the home. Concerned parents, priests, civilians, all will call or write to them with their cases. Little Suzie has been acting strangely? Bring her in, we'll see what it's all about. Billy can reportedly see ghosts? We'll make up a bed for him, teach him how to deal with them. Alex recently had a near-death experience? Here, they're less likely to fall prey to supernatural forces.

Everyone is welcome, and the house can, at the very least, house 10. Not often are there more than that, but there is always a spare bed and a cup of tea for those who need it.
