Jono

knrr0H2zeVGNQTgI.jpg!weblarge

Eyes opened to find Jono’s hues greeted by the tile beneath his feet. Inquiring further would find that Jono was actually sitting in a reclining chair belonging to his room. He must have fallen asleep watching television the previous night before waking up. While Jono did not live on campus, he did live with his family. It was a full house. His mom had been probably yelling random sh!t for hours from the kitchen trying to wake Jono up. A small groan gave way from Jono while he was lifting his body up off of the recliner. Walking from his TV, which had been playing paid advertisements, Jono merely raised two fingers to turn it off on his way into the bathroom. After a quick shower the kid felt as good as new. A few more minutes had passed. Jono’s father, concerned that his wife had been yelling for their son for over an hour to no avail, decided to open the door leading to Jono’s room to see what he was up to. As the door opened, Jono was fixing that loosely-fitting tie of his. He looked up to his father with a small smirk. “Why don’t you just tell mom to stop yelling?” Grabbing his hat off of the desk beside his door, Jono slid through the doorway beside his father to walk out, who closed the door behind him. Chuckling slightly, Jono’s father followed. “Well, I don’t wear the pants in this house son; haven’t figured it out, yet?” Typical response from dad.

Jono softly hopped onto the banner of his staircase before sliding down rather quickly. He turned a quick corner to walk into the kitchen, where his mom was cooking up a storm. Jono didn’t even stop walking toward the door. One hand grasped onto one of the straps belonging to his backpack while the other snatched a half of a bagel out of the air, tossed by his lovely mother. “Love you!” “Love you too, mom.” He was going to be late again. It was the first day, but it wasn’t the first time Jono had Jett Lawless. It was Jono’s last year. While Jett was easily his favorite teacher, the man cut him absolutely no slack. Shoving that half-bagel into his mouth, Jono properly adjusted his backpack before shutting the door behind him. Once it was closed, that very same hand would reach into his back pocket to pull out two tiny metal boxes. They looked just like rubix cubes had they been a quarter of their normal size; only, completely silver with small yellow smiley faces on them. The two boxes would quickly morph into plates - extending so that his feet could fit comfortably on top of them. As he began to run, Jono then dropped the metal disks in front of his feet. Once they were planted firmly on the metal, he took off - speeding through the sky and towards Musutafu.

Jono briefly checked his cellphone while he was speeding through the air to check the time. It was not intelligent for him to not focus on where he was going. Especially in the city. There were birds, drones, gigantic buildings and other flying heroes to avoid after all. One too many times Jono found himself clipping buildings or colliding with other heroes. That was pain he wouldn’t mind missing the rest of his life. Jono passed over a plethora of different roads, neighborhoods and highways before he finally reached the city. It was as busy as always. Some heroes were fighting a villain nearest to one of the main roads leading through the center of the city but Jono didn’t really have time to divert his attention. Aside from that, he could get into serious trouble fighting on the regular streets when he still had a year to go before his certification cleared.

It had been thirty minutes. Y’all haven’t even noticed the timing problems in this post. Get over it. As he finally hit the main grounds of the campus, Jono’s plates led him down toward the middle grounds before they slid out from underneath him, allowing Jono to fall a few feet to the concrete. IT’S GOTTA BE A GRACEFUL LANDING THOOOO SO YOU KNOW YA BOY actually hit the ground and tumbled a bit before getting up onto his feet to wipe some of the grass off of his stomach. The campus was packed. There had been people of all different walks of life running in various directions toward where they needed to go. Class started at exactly 8 on the dot. With only ten minutes to spare, most students refused to be tardy. Whether it be flying, running, or biking, people were finding a way to get to their classes.

Jono was stopped completely, standing about watching the commotion. He took a moment to slide a cigarette from a pack in his back pocket. It lit itself as the butt touched his lips, leaving a cloud of smoke in his wake as he walked up a set of stairs leading to the building that contained 1-A. Yes; Super Academia is a rather large Campus! There are multiple buildings and various types of rooms in those buildings. As the RP goes on we are going to delve into some of the different types of teaching styles that Super Academia has to offer. Some will be indoors, in danger-room esque scenarios. Others might be outdoors. From time to time, ventures into the city and beyond are even necessary. Whereas U.A. High School caters to a specific type of student, the top few percent, Super Academia caters to anyone who is intelligent enough - and possesses enough finesse. At the end of each semester, each student is required to test their skills against a set of trials to prove their continued worth. Whether you are a freshman, sophomore or junior, if you fail that trial, you’re expelled from the program for good. Seniors have proved their worth three times over; they graduate upon their test at the end of their semester. Heroes that graduate from Super Academia go on to lead historic careers, given a 97% success rate. The only problem is, there have been less than a handful of students to graduate since the Academia’s opening twenty years ago. Given the fact that each student is hand-selected and the only way to obtain a pass to an entrance exam is through connections, Super Academia is strict with its rules and guidelines. The time? 8:00 AM. The place? Class 1-A.

Agnes
….e…. ….eep…. …. Beep…. ….bee-zzzp-crssch. The clock crunches as Agnes drops her fist onto it. The device was left with a huge indent in the shape of her fist. Agnes wavered as she stretched her back while sitting on the edge of her bed. Her face was sweaty and her head still groggy from her 12 hour slumber. Slowly tilting her head towards the battered clock, she realized she’d done it again. With a furrowed brow Agnes grabbed the clock and chucked it halfway across the room into the wastebin beside her dresser. The clock clanged against the wall and fell into the basket with a metallic thud. What a waste Agnes reflected. She stared down to her chromed fingers and heavy gauntlets. Grasping and clutching her palms, it’s kind of strange how I’ve kept these on for 2 years, she pondered. It was the fleeting type of idea that any normal person wouldn’t even give a second thought. Ever since a year ago, she’d been getting all these eccentric considerations, sudden compulsions to think about boring or blatant things. Perhaps it was her memories rebuilding themselves, a sort of sub-conscious trigger to a more important event. But that, in itself, was also an estranged thought, kind of a catch 22.

Agnes shook her head rapidly and got up to her morning routine. Brush her teeth, 3 minutes; take a shower, 5 minutes; do her makeup, 10 minutes; get dressed, 2 minutes; and eat breakfast, 15 minutes. Every day the precisely same routine, down to a similar timestamp on every activity give or take 3 to 4 minutes. Once she’d leave the house she’d text her father that she’d left for school. He had left for America last month, and he’d been pressing Agnes to give him texts to make sure she was doing okay. Ever since her mother disappeared, Agnes was his prime concern. If he could, he’d stay in Tokyo, but sadly his research is far too important for him to ditch it. Agnes didn’t really care either way, she liked her father, but at the same time, she felt too far from him to care appropriately. The daughter that he had raised wasn’t the same one walking to school right now. The whole ordeal felt, like stealing someone else’s life. She hadn't gotten herself to this point, she was just riding out the storm. All the goals Agnes had before were lost, and this new Agnes was in the pilot's seat. This contempt sat in the back of her mind everyday, kind of a wakeup call every time she started having fun, in the end everything that mattered was getting herself back to who she was. Then I can stop having these random compulsory thoughts. When I make things right. Agnes walked all the way to the high school while musing her thoughts. Now it’s time for me to begin. She thought as she clutched her hands while walking through the gate.

Jez
Jez stared at himself in the mirror of his room. Most of his room was empty aside from what the school provided for him, such as a bed to sleep in, and a desk to do his homework on. He only had a handful of clothes that he was provided by the men who sent him here, and even though he was about five feet and seven inches tall, they apparently hadn’t gotten him any jackets that fit correctly, with all of them being long enough to go past his hands and reach far below his waist. Thus, when he lifted his arms up to look at his hands, they were covered by his sleeves. He let out a long sigh, and tried to run his hands through his hair, to fix any strands that were standing up from his restless sleep. Frowning at his lack of progress, he simply grabbed his glasses from his desk and put them on, and saw his exhausted expression more clearly. He tried to turn his mouth up into a smile, but the best he could manage was a half-hearted grin. He let his mouth fall, and hoped that he didn’t need to smile that much today. Picking up his bag, he opened the door of his dorm and silently scuffled out into the students making their way to their classes.

Almost immediately, Jez got lost. He had a paper that told him where to go, but even then, he found himself moved around by all the students, until he ended up at the main gate to the school. He groaned, and looked at the paper, trying to understand where exactly he was supposed to be going. However, all it said was Class 1-A, and so far, he couldn’t find it. As he turned around, again hoping to somehow find his destination, he walked right into a girl who was walking through the gate to the school. Well, not so much as walked into, but his chest bumped into her shoulder, and in a fit of surprise, he leapt backwards, landing on his butt. As soon as he noticed some students around him staring, he felt his face flush. What a great way to start life here. Quickly pushing himself up, he grabbed his bag and bowed meekly to the girl. “S-s-sorry…” That was all he said as he rushed off, pushing his glasses back into place. ( Enkye Enkye ) Finally, he found his homeroom, Class 1-A, after a female teacher had seen him walking around the campus more than a few times. She pointed him in the right direction, and he had finally made it. He stood outside of the doorway, calming his nerves, and took a step inside. He kept his eyes facing the ground as he made his way straight to the back of the classroom. He knew he wasn’t allowed to mess up, or he would have to go back. Back to the lab. And he didn’t want that. He would not mess up this chance of his. So, he would make sure he didn’t stand out. Sitting down in his seat, he put one of his hands on his desk, and the black ooze that was his Quirk slightly dribbled out of the tip of his index finger, and he squished it with his thumb, pulling it apart and pushing it back together as he waited for class to start, hoping no one would approach him.(edited)

Ninth
A Morning process Why is it, that the morning always feels so refreshing? Is it the fact that a new day is beginning? Or is it because yesterday can be viewed as something in the past? Perhaps it's something even more simple than a wild tangent that borders the philosophical. Then again, not everyone can agree that the morning is an enjoyable experience. Some people have a hard time freeing themselves from the comfort of their bed, whilst wishing for a few more minutes of nightly peace. Those that do enjoy their mornings? Well, they have a whole list of reasons as to why. For one such individual, it was the scent of strawberries that was carried within the warm, but humid air. It was the soft hum of a hair drier, hidden beneath the light beat of a stereo. It was even the feeling of having washed away the sweat from an early morning. And before that, it was the sense of motivation that came from completing a five mile run. But more than anything, it was getting to watch the sun peak above the horizon. Every morning, the girl felt like she was encouraged to push harder, and harder by such a simple sight. These were the day-to-day mornings for the girl known as, Kitana.

Onwards! Just like any other morning, there she stood in front of the mirror. Dancing side to side, whilst a small grey stereo atop the counter actively played it's tunes. The girl couldn't even hold still whilst brushing her teeth, mirroring her excitement for this day. With a quick swish and rinse, she opened with a bright smile. Head, turning before the mirror to inspect her teeth, whilst her lower body refused to stop dancing. At least that stopped whenever she stood straight, and shut off the music. Within the mirror was a girl with a retreating smile, less bright than before, but still present as her lips barely arched. After a gentle nod, she took a few steps back and proceed to inspect her outfit. When all checked out, all that was left was to leave. In truth, Kitana didn't stay at the dorms the previous night. No, she actually altered her normal route from home, and made it her morning run. Sure she had to wake up a little earlier than normal, and maybe it was a bit more than her normal five miles. But she wanted to burn that extra bit of energy she had prior. After school she would probably need to call her parents though, seeing as she did kind of leave without a word of note.. Thankfully, she was blessed with an understanding mother and father. In the end, she made it to the school gates with fifteen minutes to spare. Which put her in the classroom with about eight. It was a little later than she originally hoped, but forgivable. Just like usual, she attempted to sneak in without being noticed. Not that it always worked mind you, because half the time she pictured a scene from the movies and ended up acting a little awkward in the moment. But hey, no one is perfect.

Raven
It was a quiet morning. She hadn’t slept much the night before, maybe because that was when she was moving in. It was her first night in a place other than her bunker room. Her eyes glanced around at her room. The walls were bare, but she was allowed to decorate them. Decorate? This was unfamiliar to her. She wasn’t allowed much in the facility. She remembered she was only allowed to check out one book to take with her to her room, but that was all. She would check out a new book every single day, and read until her eyes couldn’t read anymore. Raven stood up. She closed her eyes, memories looking back at the day before. She remembered packing a single suitcase, mostly filled with new clothes and items for her school. She was excited to wear something new other than scrubs. She opened her eyes and looked down at herself, wearing the new uniform she was to wear at her school. The fabric felt nice and soft against her skin. Still, it was all a stranger to her. She turned around, and stepped in front of the mirror that was hooked to her wall. ”Remember, you are a new student from Tokyo. Nobody is to know who you really are. Nobody is to know where you come from. There are teachers watching you, so if you even slip once, you’re done.” The male voice echoed in her mind. It was a threat, and she knew it. If she lost her anger, or even spoke of where she came from, she knew she would not only put herself in danger, but she would put who she told in danger as well.

Raven shook her head. She wanted to stay positive, and she wanted to stay happy. “I won't let him get to me!” She said to herself. She reached over to a hook next to her mirror, and slipped on a jacket. She was determined to try to make at least one friend while she was here. That’s all she really wanted. For a moment, her eyes grew gloomy. ”What if.. What if they take them away. I’m so afraid.” She closed her eyes, and inhaled. “I won’t think like this. I need to be strong.” She exhaled, grabbing her backpack full of supplies and books. She slipped it on, and started heading out the door. The dorms were busy this morning. Kids were getting ready, finding their friends, and heading out to class. She reached in her pocket, and looked at where she was supposed to go. “Class 1-A..” She gulped. The papers included a map of the entire campus. The lunch room was close by, so luckily, she shouldn’t get lost going there. Hopefully she would be able to find her classroom easily. She looked up from the papers. Everyone was starting to head out towards class. She decided she had better get going, before she would be late on her very first day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kamoku
And there she was, sitting on the edge of her bed, waiting for the right timing to catapult a crumbled piece of paper out of her window. Her eyes focused on the janitor who was strolling around the campus with a garbage bin, sticking her tongue out automatically. And then when he was at the perfect spot, she shot the paper and it unbelievably landed into it. Screaming internally as she fist pumped in the air to celebrate her little victory that she had been practicing for since ages. It all started in elementary school where she would get into competitions with her classmates in order to see who had the best aim of the class. She ended somewhere low but climbed her way up steadily the more she practiced it and eventually got called a professional in throwing papers. Being able to predict the wind direction and the distance was quite something, especially if she made it. It was not something the average human being could do at once and she was darn proud of it. Jumping out her bed, fully dressed as she arrived yesterday already with all her stuff. This way she wouldn’t need to hurry up and unpack everything fast. Her brother did the same thing as he thought it would’ve been a hassle to speed around in order to get on time in class. Them being in the same class was going to be quite interesting especially since they had completely opposite personalities and clashed more than they were friendly with each other. But that was just a façade as they got along pretty well. Stretching out her arms, she went out of her dorm room and encountered her brother along the way who just rolled his eyes in return, making Kaulana smirk. ”Good morning to you too, butthole.” She said which made him groan in annoyance, deserving a smack on the back of her head.(edited)

After Kamoku had smacked her, they walked to the classroom together, having some small talk while they were at it. They both didn’t seem to have roommates yet which was actually quite relaxing since they didn’t need to keep someone else in account. They could just do whatever they wanted to do. Kaulana had to look up in order to see her brother’s face due to the difference in height. She disliked that about him. They were twins yet she was smaller than he was and their personalities were like polar opposites. And nonetheless he inherited the power of a distant relative: cryokinesis. It pissed her off but at the same time she admired him. It was a battle of emotions going on inside of her head. Kamoku pulled his sister closer to him as he noticed someone rushing towards them with high speed, glaring once he passed before letting go of her again. She didn’t seem to care as she just started talking about the heroes that were going to give lessons here and what she wanted to do during their time in this school. He was curious as well as to what they would teach them, preferably anything that had to do with combat. Theory was fine as well but he liked it less as it didn’t have anything practical in it until actual combat lessons.

Before they knew it, they reached the classroom, entering at once so they could choose their seats first. Once they spotted an open seat next to a window that they could open by hand, Kamoku pushed his sister’s face backwards as he walked faster. But somehow she sneaked past him and crashed onto the chair. Kaulana managed to land her butt on the seat while Kamoku fell to the ground. His eye twitching as he really hated it whenever she won little competitions like this. Taking the seat next to her reluctantly while muttering spiteful words under his breath which made her have more fun with her win.

Deor
The Hidden Truth Bar the very few exceptions in the world, everyone had a fear of one thing or another. Whether that fear was minor or major, benign or debilitating, common or rare, everyone had one. Some people had fears that hung over them even when the true subject of their fear was nowhere to be found. Others lived alongside their fears every day of their life. How people reacted and interacted with their fears always changed from person to person and fear to fear. That is not the point of this though. No, the point of this is one specific fear. One fear that is the focus of all this, the buildin blocks and basis of a broken being. The fear behind all of this? Thalassophobia: An intense and persistent fear of the sea; Among other things thalassophobia also extends to being in large bodies of water. Deor's one and only fear. And not a minor one at that, no, for him it has gotten to the point where large bodies of water can render him near catonic if there wasn't a nearby life threatening situation. Even then, his mind becomes all but absent, Deor simply running on autopilot for the duration. This always bring up the question, however, of how exactly Deor acquired such a deep rooted fear of water? Some might think it's due to his quirk, and they would be right, but at the same time completely wrong. He was a dragon, they didn't fear things for silly nonsensical reason such as water gets you wet. They burned stronger than that, brighter than that, hotter than that. So why did Deor have such a fear when, in accordance to everything he was told growing up, he was not only a dragon, but one that had the potential to be a king?

Punishment. Not just a singular punishment though, no Deor had been made of tougher stuff than that. A string of the same theme of punishments from the age of seven to the age of fifteen, with 'refresher' from that point onwards? That tended to cause a debilitating fear. What is the point of all this, one might wonder? Why the background to Deor's fear, and what it does to him?

4:57 AM - Muffled screaming echoed through a dark room. Through the small amount of light shining through the closed shades of the window, the vague silhouettes of two people could be seen standing over a bed. The mystery of what was happening was soon solved by the simultaneous sound of water dripping, as well as the bursts of flames appearing around the room illuminating it in quick bursts. Stepping away from the struggling figure on the bed, the two mystery people exited the room, the taller of the two barking out a mocking laugh and calling behind, "Time to wake up boy! Just one more year and you're ours again!" Rolling out of bed while still shivering, both from the freezing cold water and the residual effects of being all but drowned, the figure wrapped their arms around themselves and one large burst of flame in the vague shape of a snake later, Deor stepped to the window and completely opened the blinds, staring blankly outside. Releasing a muted sigh, he turned and went to start getting for the day. As he slowly went through the motions, Deor could only hope that this final year would make everything he went through worth it in the end. Somewhere, in the back of his mind, he all but knew that it wouldn't be the case. At least after today he'd have a year away from this wretched place. Again, that little traitorous voice in the back of his head reminded him that after this year he'd be stuck here for the rest of his life.(edited)

Soon enough Deor found himself walking down the street, a sideways glance at his phone showing that it was barely six. Two hours till his first class. A sigh caused two foot long flaming serpents to burst into existence around him and but with a glance they began dancing around him, as if they were playing together. Continuing on his way to school, Deor let his already distracted mind float to the real reason he put himself through th- A grumble from his stomach reminded him that he hadn't eaten in his hurry to get out of the house. Glancing back again at his phone, he shook his head and went to find something to eat. So it was at seven that showed Deor sitting in the back of 1-A, only one flame construct from before flying around his head in a facsimile of a ouroboros turned into a flaming halo, Deor himself staring out the nearby window boredly, content in knowing that people wouldn't approach him, just as they haven't for the past few years he's been here.

Jett
“Who decided it was a good idea to have class at 8 AM?” Jett groaned, hobbling his way into the classroom. He brought a hand to his head, slumping down into his chair. He looked like a wreck, his luxurious blonde hair was messy and knotted. His black dress pants were on backwards, while his feet were equipped with both socks and sandals. The white button down shirt he wore was only halfway buttoned, with his purple money tie weaved in between the buttons that were buttoned. He then began rummaging through his desk, until he found the large silver flask he kept in there. Letting out a sigh of relief, he unscrewed the cap and brought the metallic container to his lips, tipping his head back to drink down the entire contents. The liquor seemed to revitalize the male. He tossed the flask across the room and stood up, and let out a mighty roar. Jett was a little sad his quirk didn’t revolve around drugs, alcohol, or money. “Alright! New students today, I think. I hope they’ve heard of me, Jett Lawless. Though, I suppose it’s kind of impossible not to…” He spoke to himself, flipping open the wooden part of his desk. “If I were a teacher...what would I make my students do?” He pondered to himself, looking down at the now revealed control panel. Stroking a few keys caused a projector to project an image onto the wooden desk part. Humming the chorus to the best-worst song in existence, “We Built This City”, he began flipping through some suggestions he had received from other teachers. Nearly falling asleep after reading some of the ideas, he pulled up his class list. The only little shit he knew on that list was Jono Betancourt.

Now, there was nothing particularly wrong with Jono, Jett just didn’t understand what was all the fuss about becoming a hero. All of the kids were like that, but it seemed Jono had a lot more determination. A trait that drove Jett to come up with extra super assignments. Now getting a spark of determination on his own, he sat back down at his desk. Pressing a few more buttons the room seemingly transformed, causing any and all kids sitting down in a chair to fall directly onto their ass. As for the other students that would enter the room, they’d end up standing on a sidewalk. However, it would only be just them. Neon signs hung from pretty much every building in the immediate area, illuminating pretty much everything. Buildings of all shapes and sizes were on the main strip, the various signs indicating if the building was some sort of casino, hotel, or the rare gentleman’s club. In the distance were skyscrapers that seemed to reach all the way up to the sky. It was nighttime, not a single cloud or star could be seen in the sky. The biggest building however, would be one that they might have been familiar with. The very much oversized sign read “Jett’s Bett’s Casino”, along with a billboard picture of himself. However, the building didn’t quite match up with the other ones, having been placed in the middle of the road and on top of a nicely mowed lawn.. The purple, rectangular building was nothing special, the yard was rather interesting. A rather large, solid gold Yen symbol sat in the middle of an even larger pool. Large jets sprayed cool water into the air around it.

“Um, excuse me. This is your teacher speaking. Jett Lawless, you’ve probably heard of me…” He started speaking to the kids. “This year we’re going to have lots of fun together, even if you little shits just want to become heroes.” He started laughing. “Oh, I crack myself up sometimes. You know, now that I think about it...that’s what this school is for. I don’t really get the appeal. Oh, shit I’m getting side tracked again.” He cleared his throat. That’s when the door to the casino sprang open. “Like I said, I got some fun planned for you not so fortunate kids. Oh, and because I have Jono AGAIN, it’s going to be even more fun for you guys. Try to not get shit on, it’s your first assignment and you don’t want to already start the class failing.” As he cackled, his voice faded out.
