In the Early 21st Century, the US stock market suddenly collapses from a massive bubble created by a economy who had just recovered truly from the effects of the Great Recession as people take to the streets in massive numbers protesting the ever increasing income inequality and falling job quality, shutting down vast portions of the economy. Government attempts at bailouts and stopping the protests and walkouts fail miserably. Within a week, the stock market bottomed at a number not seen since the times of the Great Depression and kept going down. Soon, Society collapses after thousands of businesses collapse and unemployment skyrockets to never before seen numbers.
With the sudden collapse of America, a huge portion of the world economy is wiped off the map. Trade virtually disappears and society collapses worldwide. The world is left a mess. Globalization was destroyed, and all it touched had felt the sudden economic collapse.
It's seventy years later, and the world is completely different. Multiple nations also began to pop out of the ruins that had been left from the Old World. Some fight between one another, some sought to see recognition and independence. Whatever the reason, the New World is what remains.
