Roke
Roke is relatively rich in untapped old-world resources, but has a higher rad level than most of the Outer Kingdom. Farming is extremely difficult, and the inhabitants rely heavily on traded grain to keep from starvation. The environment is mostly rocky outcrops with low vegetation, dominated by a kind of soft, short mutant grass with a reddish tint.
The providence is large and mostly lawless, with the local baron Ared Thomas concentrating his forces around his keep. He is known to visit villages at random to ensure the payment of tax, but provides almost nothing in the way of support. Currently Roke is at war with Salt Flat for the control of a fertile border valley.
Salt Flat
Salt Flat gets it’s name from the main feature of the province, an inland salt marsh that is in various states of flooded throughout the year. It’s people are able to subsist on fish, frogs and birds hunted during the wet period and salt-cured for the dry.
The marsh itself is a strange place, inhabited by villages of fairly normal outlanders but also the wesh - near-amphibious bog dwellers who are excellent swimmers and fishers. During the dry months the wesh inhabit a permanently flooded bunker. They are not aggressive, but will defend their territory against incursions.
The rest of the province is sparsely inhabited, covered mostly with savannah grassland, and quite low in available food and other resources.
The Vale
The Vale is the breadbasket for a large section of the Outer Kingdom, and is heavily taxed by the god-king. During the bombing the surrounding mountains sheltered the rich soil from fallout, and creeks from the mountains are low-rad independent of the water crystals. The people here are almost all farmers, growing wheat and corn variants on every available scrap of land. The environment itself is very safe, but they are heavily raided by slavers and bandits, and occasionally wasters who cross Salt Flat.
Weather:
Currently it's near the end of summer, so very hot and dry. Autumn is also quite warm, but the temperatures dramatically crash in winter. Higher areas will have snow. The climate is significantly screwed up following the erasure of most life from Earth.

Wraith Tribe
The wraiths are something of a legend in the Outer Kingdom, and even to other wastelanders. They're used as a story to frighten naughty children in shacks throughout the world - pale skinny folk with sharp teeth, ready to eat you up. Unlike most fairytales, however, the wraiths are not only real but worse than the stories. They don't particularly care whether you've been naughty, and will eat you regardless.
The name is one given to them from outside the tribe, and refers either to their silent movement or the fact that most are albino. The mutation is extremely common in the tribe, to the point that almost all are bleached white with red eyes. Their teeth are always pointed, with some also having pointed ears. They raid exclusively at night, often taking people alive and marching them away. Later the bones can be found, lying picked clean in the dust.
Clearwater
Unlike most waste tribes, Clearwater is bound together purely by convenience rather than blood relations. The members camp semi-permanently around the river mouth, acting as a buffer for each other against the harsh environment and providing a group for raids. They are almost all outcasts from their own people. Some come from other tribes while others were loners, and sometimes even from outside the waste.
The leader is a man with one arm known as Carpenter, who maintains order within the camps. He ejects the troublemakers and organises raids and other projects, but otherwise leaves the fractious, free-spirited group mostly to itself. His reputation for honesty and good judgement stops Clearwater from splitting, and makes it something more coherent than it actually is.
