Street Magic

Deep within the slums of the city, is a single white door with a red neon sign hanging over it. Usually there's a bouncer outside, some big brute with very little to lose who you just don't mess with. The club is frequented by a great deal of both supernatural and "normies". The club climbs down into the basement of the building above it, an old abandoned factory. Its dark, its loud, and if you have a problem with flashing lights it wouldn't be a good idea to stay long. The bar is kind of sticky, but they serve just about anything you can think of. The crowd can be kind of seedy, so you should always be careful in the club. You never know who might be lurking in the dark shadows in the corner.

Adriana Porcia
Adriana frowned as she scrubbed at the bloodstain on the bar top. The mage may have made the silver bullet joke to the werewolf, but she was the one that was stuck cleaning up his blood. Despite its rough and tumble atmosphere, Adriana kind of liked the bar. There was always something interesting going on, and the boss paid her well enough. It didn't hurt that the bar provided plenty of hosts for her to feed on. Drunken men, no matter what their species, always seemed to lose their inhibitions when alcohol was involved. Even now, she could feel eyes on her. Doing her best to ignore them, Adriana stood up from where she had bent over the bar and tossed the soiled rag in the general direction of the trash. Her nostrils flared slightly, taking in the scent of the crowded club. It had been a few days. Hunger always sharpened her senses and the pheromones radiated thickly in the room. Tucking her wings to her body tightly, Adriana edged past one of the other bartenders, towards the far end of the bar. Patience was the name of the game, and she was ready to play.

A female vampire had sidled up to the bar, talking to a group of several others. Adriana gave her a tight lipped smile. She wasn't as comfortable talking to other women, but she was living off tips right now. As she got closer, she couldn't help but notice how beautiful the vampire was, and how the others seemed to notice as well. Her tail snapped from side to side as she strolled over. Trying to make her smile more genuine, she leaned her forearms on the bar.

"What can I get you?" Adriana asked breezily. To the casual observer, her tone was friendly and helpful. However, it took everything in Adriana to keep from acting like a surly brat.

"O negative. Straight. No straw." the vampire replied, barely giving Adriana a second look.

With a nod, she turned and went to get the drink, a little miffed that her forced kindness was met with blatant rudeness. Luckily, Adriana was hired because of her skills as a bartender, not her cheerful attitude. She quickly made the drink, following the guest's wishes to a t. When she was returned, all she got as an acknowledgement was a nod and two crumpled singles.

Shoving the money into the pocket of her jeans, Adriana realized that everyone at the bar was taken care of. Relishing the brief moment of relaxation, she scanned the room with pale blue eyes. She wasn't quite sure what she was looking for. Maybe a potential host, or perhaps something exciting to happen. It didn't matter though. It was always interesting to see different people and species intermingle, so for now, she contented herself with people watching as the bar pulsed with loud music.

"Thank you kindly..."
Charlie Hollows said to the nervous Human who quickly tucked away the Ziploc bag that he had passed to him.

As the human skittered away Charlie settled further down into the booth towards the back of the bar. He briefly considered the small wad of bills that Tomas had slipped to him during the exchange. He chuckled to himself softly as he buried it deeply into the folds of his overcoat and returned with a banged up but serviceable tin. Fiddling with it for an unsteady minute he opened it with an audible POP. He busied himself by scooping a small blackened slimy lump of something out of the tin and popped it in his mouth, chewing it methodically as he surveyed the bar and its patrons.

Business had been rough of the late. Summer brought with it many different customers, hungry for the seasonal bounty and goodies that the surrounding wilderness outside The City has always provided. Between the component runs he did for Oxford and the recent plumbing troubles that Carmine estate hired him on for Charlie hadn't found much time to travel outside the city to forage and get that Summertime crowd. And for all the dumpster diving he did, Hollows knew he couldn't survive on moldy sandwiches and ditch water forever.

Taking a long drink from the glass in front of him he swallowed the previously chewed up glob with an audible gulp. Tomas, briefly bumping into a surly group of dwarves, finally made it out of the bar. For whatever reason dried Plisken's Bulb was getting popular among the youths of The City. As much as Charlie didn't like to sell his findings to "kids" the recent combination of jobs had definitely had him hurting for that extra spending money. It also helped this particular fungus grew near the sewers by his "home".

Fortunately this particular bar was one of the only establishments that tolerated him and was under the radar of Officer Ricci. After that last fiasco by the park he couldn't risk it a second time.

After ordering another drink did he feel a pang of guilt. Of course Plisken's Bulb wasn't illegal and of course he shouldn't feel bad for selling it. He's making ends meet and no one was getting hurt. Win, win. Besides all Plisken's Bulb did was made you a bit goofy for a few minutes, no harm in that right? Assuring himself of his conscience and the money in his jacket Charlie settled himself down for the foreseeable future.

It was early in the day, but Sloane found herself at the local bar: the grimy hangout for supernaturals from all walks of life. Sloane rarely set foot inside, but when she went on break from work, she wanted to take a walk outside her home as well. Besides, she fit right in with the crowd. The woman walked tall with her chin and shoulders up, her presence demanding attention with each click of her heels on the bar's wooden floor. It was a different atmosphere in the day time, she noted as she had only been to the bar for their occasional live show. Sloane had no interest in drinking or partying, but the occasional...friend was made those lively and loud nights. Today, though, she sat quietly at the bar, setting her leather bag on the stool beside her. The message was clear: the seat was taken.

Confident that she'd be noticed, Sloane's dark nails pull a menu from its stand. She sat tall and straight, a serious scowl on her face as she contemplated her meal. She also sat very still, clearly not one to fidget. Her heels nearly touched the floor from the stool she sat on, and her bare arms put on display a variety of intricate tattoos. Her pants clung tightly to her slim figure, and the heels she wore were black--complimenting the majority of her outfit. It didn't take long for her to decide, and almost as quickly as she had picked it up, Sloane placed the plastic back where it had sat previous, her gold jewelry reflecting the dull light in the bar. Decision made, her eyes scanned the bar again until they found what she assumed to be the bartender--a young and gorgeous woman with pale blues that almost put her pale greens to shame.

Sloane waited until it was obvious she was staring her down, not a smile or gesture to be made. Still, she expected the message to be clear. Then she politely looked away to examine the rest of the bar instead. It certainly smelled like a bar, and the afternoon wasn't too rambunctious. They were likely other daytime workers on their lunch. "Mostly, anyway," she thought, her gaze settling on a scruffy looking man toward the back of the bar. He was alone and drinking, never a good sign. Sloane wasn't one to care about getting caught staring, but she eventually gave into politeness and kindly averted her gaze.

Done staring innocent people down, Sloane reached into her bag to retrieve a small sketchbook and pencil. She would quickly flip to a blank page and set it on the counter. The woman didn't dive into her art right away, but she stared at the blank page, waiting for inspiration and to place her order.

It didn't take long for Adriana to notice someone was staring at her. She turned slowly, until she locked eyes with another woman across the bar. She was absolutely stunning, with long, dark dreadlocks, pale green eyes and beautifully inked sleeves. For a moment, Adriana mourned the fact that she could only feed off men. But she was a practical woman and right now, she had a job to do. Noticing one of the regulars had also come in, she gave him a nod of acknowledgement that she would be over to check on him in a moment. Then, she walked over to the woman at the other end of the bar.

"What can I get you?" Adriana inquired, tapping her fingers softly on the bar. She had no need for a pad and pen, she hardly ever got an order wrong. "I haven't seen you around before, do you need a minute with the menu?" she continued. She knew that woman would probably say 'no'. Even if you had never stepped foot inside the bar, they made just about any drink you could think of. She raised a neatly arched brow as she noticed the menu was flipped open to the food.

Not many people ordered actual food. Adriana was impressed. The woman either had to be really brave, or just incredibly hungry. Adriana was friendly with the cook, but his skills were certainly nothing to write home about. If they were, he wouldn't be cooking in a bar like this. She thumbed at a sticky stain on the bar, trying not to stare at the delicate tattoos that curled up the woman's arms as she waited for a reply. She had to admit, she was intrigued. A rare feat indeed.

There was a sketchbook down on the bar next to her. She must have been some type of artist. Perhaps a tattoo artist, judging by the sheer amount of ink on her body. It was better not to ask though. Most patrons here liked to get their drink and go. That's it. So Adriana kept her questions to herself, scolding herself for being so curious.

Sloane greeted the other with a polite smile, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. She appreciated formalities, but that's all they were to the woman. Rudeness and disrespect wasn't something she liked to dish out without necessity, especially to the woman who would be handling her food. "No, I already took a look. I'm not usually here unless it's after dark, and even that isn't very often. Just on lunch break now," she explained, gaze flickering back to where the menu sat as she recalled the choice she had already made. "Just a water to drink. The buffalo chicken salad to eat.

"I did most of them myself," she said suddenly, catching the other's curious gaze. "I own Ink Shields, over by the mall if you're in the market for some ink." The witch was a shameless businesswoman, plugging herself whenever the opportunity arose. With that, she would leave the bartender to her own devices, not wanting to hold up her own order. There didn't seem to be a lunch rush of any sort, however, and she began to question her choice in dining. Sloane shrugged. "You live and you learn," she thought.

The corner of Adriana's full lips tugged into a smirk. Not many patrons ordered salad and even fewer ordered water. "Got it." she said with a nod. Her smirk then shifted into a small smile and she chuckled as the woman mentioned she owned her own tattoo parlor. "Maybe." Adriana replied noncommittally. "I'd probably fit in here better if I had a few" she chuckled. She stuck out like a sore thumb in the seedy bar, with her blonde hair, blue eyes and freckles. The only things remotely tough about her were her wings and tail. Even those had somewhat of a soft, feminine appearance. She sighed, briefly wondering what it would be like to have ink covering her body. But with a small smile, she shook her head and turned back toward the kitchen to fulfill the order.

On her way to the back of the bar, she quickly took notice of that the man on the end was drinking. He was a regular, but sometimes she forgot what he liked. Once she figured it out, she filled a fresh glass and placed it down on the bar with a nod and a smile. She got a certain small pleasure out of being kind to her customers and coworkers. However, it tended to quickly wear on her and her mood tended to spoil as the evenings wore on. Adriana made her way into the kitchen and took a brief breath as the cook made the salad. With a nod of thanks, she grabbed the salad and brought it out to the bar, placing it in front of the tattooed woman. She then filled a glass with ice water and set it down.
"Enjoy." she said, eyeing the food cautiously. "If not, there's a restaurant down the street with real food, but you didn't hear it from me." A part of Adriana was curious as to why a woman came into a bar on her lunch break and only ordered water. But most people didn't come to the bar to made idle chit chat with the bartender, so she nodded and turned around to fill up a glass with some beer.

Wolter KnudenHaven
It was a long line tonight in the bar and Wolter wasn't particularly enthusiastic about the size of it. Sure, it meant that he got paid more and that the manager would be more happy about all the dough he would get but for a troll like him? It was boring to have to sift through the same crowd of supernatural creatures again and again. Humans, blood-sucky people, fish women and men, little short funny people and very naked people. He wished that there was another smart troll like him but only in Iceland and Scandanavia, would he find there was a chance of encountering someone else like him. It just felt like he was looking through all the same people again and again, non-stop. He tried to make it more entertaining for himself by interacting with the patrons but all he got were scary, weird looks.

The life of a troll.

As ever, the suit was still somewhat grating against Wolter's nerves. It was tight, stuffy and extraordinarily uncomfortable against the bare, rocky skin of his kind. The bar manager had forced him into the suit and while Wolter wasn't particularly enthused with fashion, he didn't really think something like that would ' improve his aesthetic' like the manager had said. He was a bouncer. A security guard. It was his job to act intimidating, just like most of his kind were. It was a nice act but to Wolter, it seemed a little dumb. Then again, trolls were supposed to be the dumbest of them all.

Wolter looked at the list as the next patron came to the front of him, sweating bullets as the patron dearly wished that the humongous monster in front of him wouldn't break his back for breakfast. Wolter spoke out his name in a taciturn manner, looking at his own handbook to help him pronounce the words.

" Yer...nume's Yilger Hearthe-"

The patron spoke out hurridly, wanting to get away from Wolter as fast as possible.

" Dilgar Hearthsword. Yes, werewolf. Got the tattoos and the I.D to prove it. Now, can I go in?"

Wolter accepted the patron's I.D, taking a look at it for a long moment before looking back and forth between the patron and the picture several times. It was a little grainy but it seemed okay to him. Wolter handed the I.D back to the werewolf, the werewolf grabbing it in an instant and hurrying to get inside the bar.

Gosh, he didn't know werewolves liked beer that much.

"Thank you," Sloane said as the woman took off. She heard her words about getting tattoos for what they were: politely declined. Shrugging, she watched the bartender, eyes following the flick of her tail. After a moment, she began to draw in easy, quick lines. She would like one to think that each stroke was elegant and purposeful, but there were many that she quickly drew over. Sketching was never perfect, but someone who made a living on her artwork seemed to always be in a state of practice. Drawing on another's skin, however, was a different medium all together and the skills she's honed on paper rarely applied to flesh. Sloane believed in well roundedness, and one would be surprised how broad her hobbies spanned. She was sort of a Jane of all trades, master of...some.

Her gaze flickered to the door as a gruff looking character walked in, and she eyed him up and down. There didn't seem to be a single human in the building, and she took comfort in that. Nothing interesting about the man otherwise, though, she turned back to her work. It was developing slowly but surely, depicting a demon figure as she continued. And before she knew it, her salad had arrived. Again, she smiled to the bartender. "Thank you, lovely," she said, tone a little too light. Then she laughed at the other's suggestion. "I could eat better at home, I'm sure, but you're never too old to try...new things." She glanced down at the salad before sipping her water. It was a sad salad, but it wasn't very expensive and it would do.

With the bartender returning to her own business, Sloane returned to hers. Pencil set aside, she would focus on her meal. As she ate, her gaze would wander aimless about the bar. Sloane rarely had a chance to relax, and the atmosphere of a grimy dive bar was oddly refreshing for the woman.

Putting down his second glass Charlie raised his eyebrows as Adriana put down another. Damn, she even put in the olives! Just the way he likes it. Taking hold of his newest drink he raised it in her direction with a half cocked grin and cheer in his eyes.

"Thanks love. Always a good one when you're around." He tipped it back and took a helpful swig. Adriana was good people. Probably one of the only employees here that actually gave him the time of day and especially the only one that didn't give him a sour look while doing so.

Polishing off the last of his pickled egg and mulling over his fresh drink he looked towards the door and saw that Wolter had come in for his shift. A troll ain't the most unusual thing around the city but one that can read and hold down a steady job? Takes the cake really. That werewolf that had just come in looked like he's been put through the wringer dealing with Wolter. Sucking down a beer like he just missed his own execution. C'mon, poor kid is doing his best not to scare customers away.

Finishing his drink and popping the olives in his mouth with a flourish Charlie got up to leave. Walking up to Adriana, head just bobbing above the counter, he reached in his jacket and took out half of the take from his "exchange" with Tomas and laid it down on the counter. "I'm done for today, here you go Addi. Extras for you and get Joey-" Thumbing to the cook"-a drink will you? Its on me. Hot enough day as it is I think he deserves a little something right about now." He barks out a short laugh and notices Sloane, giving her a grinning nod, and turns back to Adriana. "I see Wolters in today. I think I'll take him up on a bit of talking to and.."Charlie reaches into one of his many inner pockets and pulls out a brown paper bag "..a special delivery. Oxford may be a bit of bastard but hes alright when he gets something nice in."

Adriana had turned to enjoy the glass of beer for herself, but she noticed a nervous looking werewolf had come in and she set the beer down in front of him. He was decently attractive, and she fluttered her sooty lashes as she inquired as to whether or not he needed anything else. She was hungry and she had a thing for werewolves. So as she strolled away, she swung her hips gently, making it clear he would be very well taken care of.She turned, hearing Charlie speak to her over the din of the other bar chatter. A small smile lingered on her face from his kind words. Most of the other bartenders ignored him, but Adriana rather liked him. Even though he had never shown any attraction towards her, he was always kind and lately Adriana had found it hard to come by genuine kindness. As Charlie finished his drink and made his way over to her, she leaned over the bar so he didn't need to look up at her.

"Thank you." Adriana said graciously, and then laughed at his comment about the cook. "I'm sure he won't need too much convincing. The man drinks like a fish." she pocketed the cash and glanced over to the door at the mention of Wolter. "Sounds lovely. And tell him I say hello, I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to talk to him until the end of my shift." Wolter was another at the bar who Adriana liked. People were always so nervous, but he really was a nice guy once you actually got to know him. Then she waved to Charlie and departed to check on the other guests.

As she made her way down the bar, refilling glasses and taking orders, she stopped where the tattoed woman sat, placing down a fresh glass of water. She seemed to be working on a drawing, probably a new tattoo. Adriana's eye was drawn unconsciously to it, and when the other moved her arm, Adriana raised her eyebrows. "Wow, you're quite the artist." she said, then smiled slightly. "Sorry, I suppose I shouldn't be prying." she added, although she couldn't help from gazing at the drawing again. She wiped her hands on a nearby towel and wiped a glass unnecessarily. Some patrons would tell you anything, whereas others would tell you exactly where to shove your opinion. Adriana had experienced both and wasn't affected much either way. She was mostly interested to find out what type of person this woman would be.

Stella Rayne

The beautiful human bartender had been busy cleaning the bathroom stalls the majority of the evening. She had her long ginger locks up in a tight bun so that no hair would get in her face, or perhaps in the toilet water. Sweat kept forming above her brow as she finished with the last stall in the Men's room. She made sure prior to put a sign on the door that read "Cleaning Out Of Service", since she did not want to deal with any drunk men trying to hit on her. She knew that was part of her job to look after customers, but that did not necessarily mean she was in the mood all the time either.

At last she came out of the men's room and quickly went straight to the bar, as she walked she noticed one of her co-workers talking to two new faces. She would be the first one to admit that she did not know her co-workers that well, since she never really made an effort to talk to them outside of work. Stella smiled softly acknowledging her beautiful blonde co-worker and the two customers. Not wanting to interrupt their conversation she began looking around for something to do. That is when she noticed a few empty potion bottles on the bottom shelves, she began swapping them out with the others that she had made just before her shift started. These were her personal favorites. One of the potions could make you become a giggling mess of sorts, the other could make a shy customer into a flirtatious and vibrant lad or lass. The second one was probably her top pick because she helped many people get out of their comfort zone, and make a new friend or lover. Personally Stella knew that she would never attempt to have the flirty potion herself. She was not looking for anything and she knew better not to get involved into drinking potions, because it is addictive. The same goes for alcohol therefore she preferred to stay sober.

This did not mean that she did not like seeing others have a good time though. Getting up the courage she decided to get out what she called the "giggly" potion and deciding to pour two samples into two separate shot glasses. She gave both the customers she acknowledged before a big smile, and asked in a cheery tone of voice. "Hey would you two like to try a potion sample?" She then proceeded to introduce herself, as she carefully placed the two shots gently on the table in front of them.

The water pouring into her glass drew the witch's attention, and she swallowed her mouthful as the bartender apologized to her. "Pry as you wish, freckles," came Sloane's reply. "Art is to be shared and displayed. Ideally you'll love it enough to pay me a visit." The drawing had developed quickly and light: while only a sketch, it was clearly a silhouette of a demon-like figure with dramatic and large wings. She smiled at the woman, gaze for just a moment tracing down her body as she tended to her cleaning duties. It was likely the combination of the woman's respect and Sloane's inflated ego upon receiving compliments, but she found herself warming up to the bartender quickly. The woman's beauty was no deterrent to Sloane's interest either.

When she found no nametag--not strange for bartenders or even some waitresses--she picked at the rest of her salad and tilted her head. "I'm Sloane, by the way," she said, introducing herself. She may have gone on to ask for the other's name, but she was suddenly interrupted by an energetic redhead. She eyed the strange liquid in front of her, and her eyes flickered to the girl, her smile gone. She had nearly opened her mouth to reject the shot--she did not drink, and she was not insecure to say so--but the girl went on to call it a potion. Sloane's dark skin wrinkled as her brows furrowed together, exchanging a look with the other customer and bartender.

Why was the girl mixing potions? Was she a witch? She supposed it was something a human could do, and she found herself hoping that was the case. Regardless, her voice lost the warmth it had carried with Adriana as she narrowed her pale eyes at the bubbly girl. "It doesn't seem like the other bartenders fling themselves into conversations uninvited, so what makes you so special?" Her tone was low and cold. Unadmittedly, she found herself curious about the shots, but in the moment, irritation had flared instead.

Adriana looked pleasantly surprised as Sloane began to speak, then snorted softly as she was dubbed 'freckles'. "Maybe I will. It's beautiful." she replied, taking a closer look at the drawing. It was clearly meant to be a demon. The wings were large and flared out, and Adriana opened her own up to mimic the drawing. In most drawings she had seen of her kind, the wings were always wrong. Sloane's were a little on the large side, but it was definitely the best she had seen in a while.

It wasn't lost on her that the woman across from her was tracing her eyes across her body. Adriana's tail curled slightly in pleasure, but confusion flooded through her as well. Not because Sloane was staring at her. No, she attracted stares, both lusty and jealous all the time. She was confused why she liked it a little. Before she could ponder it any further, the other was introducing herself. "It's nice to meet you, I'm Adri-" but she was cut off as Stella bounced over to them and placed shot glasses down.

Adriana's wings snapped shut and she bristled, eyes turning icy. She didn't mind Stella, since they both normally kept to themselves. However, Adriana was ruthlessly competitive and got jealous over anything, whether it was attention or tips. She eyed the glass cautiously. It looked like one of those potions that turned people into drunken, giggling fools. Adriana never served any types of potions. She had no experience with them, and she preferred to keep it that way. She had been all but pushed out of the conversation as Stella now stood in front of Sloane and Charlie. Adriana wanted desperately to say something. But she simply stewed and started to slink to the other side of the bar. Succubi were known for being slippery and calculating. Some might even say cowardly. But they certainly weren't confrontational. However, it seemed Sloane was the complete opposite and Adriana had to stifle a giggle as she heard the words come out of her mouth. A safe distance away, she turned, watching what was about to unfold.

"Alright I'll see ya later Addi. Keep safe as always.." * Charlie trails off and gives a loose wave before turning towards the door. Right before he begins to take his first step he hears the telltale *clink* of a glass touching down on the counter. Half turning his head he sees the two shot glasses in front of him and Sloane. He then looked up to the bartender, who was she again?

A slip of girl he had seen once and while Never caught her name. Seeing Sloane give him a bit of a look, he returned it with a single raised eyebrow.

"Well I've had a few bit already Miss buuuut..." he lifted the glass to the overhanging lamp "..lets see what we got here." Charlie appraised the potion under the harsh fluorescent light, the amber liquid dipped and swayed with a few flecks of gold sheen shining on its surface. He brought it to his nose and took an experimental whiff. Pleasant, must of used beach plums. Bit of a kick to it.

Charlie heard Sloane retort coldly to the girl and felt a bit bad for the clearly new hire. Sure you don't move on to potions till the 3rd date but...

Oblivious to the building tension he tipped the drink back into his waiting mouth. Putting the glass back on the counter and leaning forward he let the liquid roll around a bit before swallowing. He gives out a short guffaw and wipes a single tear from his eyes. He then snorts as a thin stream of smoke shoots out from his nose.

"Hee he he...Phew. THAT sure was something missy. Dark Amber No.5 was it? Beach plum and Frobscottle with a hint of..what was it again..yeah yeah...St. Joseph's hair! Goes down smooth but what I would suggest is a bit of wormwood essense. Gives it a nice aged taste.." His mood still essentially the same but chuckling a bit he reaches in his jacket and slips out a few bills and a peppermint candy. "Hey Addi! You got a live one here!" Laughing loudly he turns back to the door and heads over towards Wolter.

Seeing that the line outside has been cleared out he leaned against the brick wall exterior and looked up at Wolter giving a quick wave to the towering troll.

"Heya Wolter. How's things up there?"

Laughing at his little joke he slapped Wolter's back. Looking over him with exaggerated interest he continued.

"Working out a bit have you? You're looking pretty cut and craggy. Looking like a real tough customer. Also love what you did with the moss patch behind the ears! Tops. Real handsome visage. Thought you might of walked out from Mount Rushmore."

He laughs and slaps his back again and starts foraging in his jacket packet. "Got a little something for you..I know you've been missing home a bit..." Taking the brown paper bag from earlier he passed it up to Wolter.

"Gen-u-ine Scandinavian Chaga and Black Mushroom tea. Took a bit of doing but I convinced Oxford to import it for me. Hope it helps you out compadre. Consider it a Welcome gift, well a really late gift, but a gift nonetheless."

As the girl with dreadlocks made the cold comment and her co-worker giggled, Stella continued to smile. She did not want to show the pain she felt so she acted as if it did not affect her like she always did. Purposely not responding to the girl's comment she spoke. "That's alright, I don't get too many customers that want to try potions that they aren't familiar with." The red head swiftly took away the remaining potion on the bar and began to pour it down one of the sink drains. She couldn't help but look over and laugh with the man, who was kind enough to take her potion sample. Her eyes widened as he continued babbling and giggling, and continued on to identify the ingredients she had. "Thank you..." she said quietly. But she knew he didn't hear her as he continued walking away, and was soon out the door.

Due to not being impressed with her co-worker, Stella decided to go on her break as it was around that time anyway. So she went to the staff room to have a snack. As she ate a granola bar. She tapped her foot to the music she was listening to on her iPod. She personally did not know if she had good taste or not, but she knew that her DJ co-worker who happened to be an Incubus, did. She could not help but wonder where he was tonight? Then again she never talked to him or had the chance because she was so busy cleaning, or serving customers. Honestly she was hoping that this night would come to an end soon, as she did not want to return to the bar.

As her fifteen minute break drew to a close she tossed her granola bar wrapper into the trash can and straightened out her shirt, sighing softly. Putting on yet another fake smile as she made her way to the bar again, nodding to acknowledge her co-worker. Also known as the one that the two customers called 'Addi'. But she did not bother acknowledging the other girl. So she continued on stocking and organizing alcohol and potions as she waited for another customer to pop their head in.

Guilt wasn't really an emotion Sloane experienced, but something tugged at her heart when the redhead cheerily blew off her ice. Then regret swelled as the potion was poured down the drain, but her expression remained impassive. What a waste of ingredients, she thought as her glare narrowed at the sink. However as the drunk man began giggling like a lunatic, she was happy that she had denied the potion. She hated looking like a fool in front of others... Granted she tilted her head at the man as he listed off a variety of ingredients. Was it just the giddiness that came along with the potion and alcohol, or was he actually able to tell what had been mixed into the shot? She had no chance to ask because he was wandering off in someone else's direction before leaving the bar.

Maybe Sloane would continue her torment on the red headed bartender, but she was suddenly out of sight too. "Sorry about that," she sighed to the succubus. "Didn't really expect there to be so much going on in a bar at a time like this." She checked her phone--it was still early afternoon and the time she spent away from her shop was growing. "I should get back to work, too..." She took one final bite of the mediocre salad and downed the rest of her water. Then she paused to eye her drawing before closing the book and dropping it and the pencil in her bag, exchanging them for a wallet.

"Thank you for the...food," she said, grinning teasingly as she paused on the word. "And your company, 'Adri.'" With that she would leave behind a $20 bill and leave the bar to return to her parlor by the mall.

"See you around." Adriana said with a coy smile, quickly pocketing the cash as she looked around for the other bartender. Noticing her coworker had gone, Adriana glanced around the bar as Sloane left. Suddenly, her hunger gnawed at her painfully. She hadn't fed in over three days. While she could go a while without feeding, people here in this new city were very....generous.

So with a practiced smile, she grabbed a fresh beer, placing it down in front of the werewolf whom Walter had scared earlier. She leaned over the bar, giving him a view of her ample cleavage. "I hope everything is alright here. Let me know if you need...anything." A chunk of flaxen hair fell in front of her large icy blue eyes, and she shook it out of the way gently. With a small breath, she gently touched his arm and smiled. Her charming wasn't without its flaws, but so far the man had met all the criteria for being susceptible. "You know, I do get off in a little while..." she purred, trailing off suggestively. She could see the hungry gleam in his eye and knew the game was over. Before he could respond, she slowly stood up, and turned to leave.

Noticing Stella had come back in, Adriana slunk over to the redhead, curling her tail as she finally came to a stop. Sure she was moody about the new girl waltzing in on her customers, but that didn't mean she needed to be nasty. She didn't have many friends here. "That was a bold move. Most people come here to avoid attention." Even though she had only been here about a year, Adriana already has the crowd figured out. The bar catered to seedy creatures, many of them looking for a place to escape scrutiny, whether from co-workers or the law. They liked their drinks strong and the music loud. "Although you seem to be knowledgeable with potions. The usual warlock crowd would probably enjoy you." She continued, sipping delicately from a water bottle. Most crowds were regulars and the bartenders often competed for their favorites. Adriana had locked down the humans and the werebeasts quickly. The drinks were easy to make for them and they always flirted with her. In fact, the only non-human she served on a regular basis was Charlie. She leaned against the counter, trying to gauge Stella's response.

A shiver went down Stella's spine that almost made her jump, as Adri approached her. But she kept calm and collected. She listened intently to what the Succubus had to say before she said anything. Her eyes widened, surprised to hear Adri sort of compliment her. At this point the redhead was cleaning out a few shakers, looking at her surroundings. She couldn't help but notice that her co-worker was leaned up against the counter, and her bosom was out a little bit. Typical of a Succubus... she thought to herself.

When her blonde co-worker suggested that her potions would probably attract the Warlock crowd, and that they would "enjoy her". Stella did not necessarily know what that meant. But to be polite she smiled and spoke. "I hope so... But I also hope to attract other customers as well..." Stella paused to think before she added on. She wanted to say she hoped to attract more Mortal customers, but she knew that might give off the wrong impression. So instead she said: "Like a variety of races that want to try potions. For example maybe even a dwarf, or a centaur."

Stella kept to herself for at least five to almost ten minutes, as she finished up putting away the last of the shakers. She covered her mouth as she yawned. It was late but the night was still young. She then realized she hadn't properly introduced herself. A light pink hue dawned on her pale freckled cheeks and nose. Even though a part of her was not sure of her co-worker, she knew that she might as well try to get along with her. "I don't believe I told anyone my name... I am Stella, Stella Rayne." She held out her right hand and smiled as she gazed into Adri's Icy blue eyes.

Adriana listened, although she found it a little hard to focus. She didn't understand the big deal about potions. Personally she found them a hassle. As her co worker fell silent, Adriana easily tended the small number of patrons at the bar. It was a weeknight and it was relatively quiet by most standards.

After a few moments, she heard the girl's voice behind her again. Adriana turned as the girl introduced herself as Stella. Her wings rippled gently as she appraised Stella's outstretched hand. After a moment, she took it. "I'm Adriana. Nice to officially meet you." She said, her tone cool. When she released the other's hand, she pushed a soft lock of hair behind her ear, smoothing it unconsciously. She wasn't quite sure what to make of Stella. She seemed nice enough, but she hadn't missed how the other girl had glanced at her flirtatious ways.

Although she had been initially rubbed the wrong way, she kept it to herself, save for the gentle flick of her tail. "You'll get used to the long shifts, it's too bad you're not nocturnal. I find getting some fresh air helps." She continued. Even if Adriana had missed Stella's yawn, it was clear that the girl was tired. Being mostly nocturnal herself, Adri fit right in with the bar crowd, but everyone found a different way to get by. "I'm surprised you haven't tried a potion for it yet." Her tone was light, interested to find out just how this human knew so much about alchemy.
