"You're working too hard, come on it's time to take a break." The young woman spoke with a firm, poking, tone as she nudged her father slightly. Standing just back, and out of the way, as he went through the final steps of filling a number of freshly cast silver cased shells. Try as she might to uncover more, all the weeks of poking and asking, still no one was giving her a straight answer... Though the sight of the bullets did tell her something, a certain 'favorite' customer was coming by. Different from the usual gun seekers that came by, the typical hunters who looked like bored older men who just sat in the woods, drank beer, and waited for an animal to walk by. Hunting, right.

"I only need a few more to finish this order, did you leave the shop unmanned, Kid?" The faintly gruff tone of her father came out, not looking at her as he carefully continued the process of filling the last remaining bullets. A faint roll of her eyes would be the unseen response, since he was focused, after a slight pause she continued on anyways. "The shop is fine I can hear the bell from here if anyone comes ins-eep!" The noise that slipped out when the bell did, in fact, ring would cut Kaylee off before she spun and started heading back for the shop. All she heard behind her was a slight snort from her father.

The shop itself was a relatively quiet thing, a gun store made up of things her father put together. Casting the metals, cutting the wood, to make specific models. Most of it was done as a hobby for him really, but it made enough money to keep running. The times where business was slower, well, Kaylee still wasn't sure what he did to keep everything afloat. Yet somehow it always worked out. Maybe the 'special' customers that popped up every so often... He was keeping too many secrets from her, she was sure.

Then the weird eccentrics at times that wanted crossbows, or stake props. Her father made those a little too well from her perspective, too sharp, and he always special ordered the wood to boot.

Casting a glance at the shop from across the street the man couldn't help but let a smile drift to his lips. It hadn't been too long ago since he was stationed here. Moved here on the essence of urgency on the growing numbers of bestial beings. Last night being a crystal clear example of that. But despite it being already a few weeks, things still seemed unfamiliar to the hunter. From the shops to the streets, to the coffee gently cupped in his hands. But one place in particular always spawned a twang of familiarity in his gut. A gun shop always around wherever the government placed him, and this one especially inviting.

Finishing his shot of caffeine for the afternoon, and tipping the waitress, Theodore casually heaved his form across the street. A hand slinking back strands of hair that, for the time being, were allowed to lay across his shoulders. Nighttime they were forced to be swept into a tight bun. But in the daytime, he didn't see why not to display the beach waves of beautifully intertwined brown and blonde.

He'd reached the shop and casually step inside. Acknowledging that the bell alerted those inside to his presence, he wondered who would greet him today.

A grin sparked across his lips. "Afternoon Kaylee." He approached the counter top. "You look busy." He joked with a casual air.

There may have been a bit more of a smile to her face when she realized the customer happened to be the special order, Theodore. Relatively new compared to most regulars, and with a pretty weird set of orders usually, but he was nice. Decent looking too, which was all kinds of a plus in terms of a looking and and talking to eye-candy kind of way. Was that sexist? Oh well, she couldn't be penalized for her thoughts! They were hers and it was all fine, but for this particular moment she just kind of shoved them off to the side.

"Oh you know, bigger games like deer and bear's seasons are ending soon, weekend just cracked so they're all out there on their hunting trips." She spoke with a slightly dismissive wave of her hand, not a very interesting topic for her really. She talked hunting all the time with people who came in, it was fun to break away from that really. Kaylee wanted to be dazzled with a new topic every once in awhile! "Your order will be done in a sec', I think he was packing the last couple of your weird silver bullets." Would have been nice if someone explained that to her... Aside from him just being eccentric.

"How are you liking the city so far?" She could... certainly chatter sometimes, if she wanted to. Which in a way helped at getting sales, friendly chatter made people more comfortable. Easier to persuade into buying something.

Although he did permit the expression of a smile he restricted himself from letting out a chuckle in response to the curious Kaylee. Always inquisitive. Theo had seen it from the day they met. And hadn't missed her tone of voice upon mentioning those 'weird silver bullets'. But he otherwise gave her a tight nod of his head at the mention of his order, whilst stood at the counter opposite her.

"Oh I've been liking it thus far, been quite busy, but I'm doing my bit to take a look around." He said. "What have you been doing to keep yourself occupied. Surely your not here all day?" Naturally, he preferred it when she spoke. He regularly came to the realisation that he could come off so robotic at times, that and the fact that his life was bound by a tight lock of secrecy. When the topic of occupation had come up, he had told her that he was a bounty hunter working for a bond company. But even that in itself was difficult to talk about without being self-conscious of slipping up by accident. He hated that he had to lie to her, or to anyone in fact, and therefore preferred to skip the subject entirely.

No response, that was about what she expected there, aside from the notes of amusement. Of course there was no real response there never was one, she was probably going to have to try a bit harder digging to get anything real out of him, or her father. Such fussy men, keeping secrets like that... Or she was the fussy one, wanting to dig into them. That was beside the point, she was curious and that was all that mattered! How bad could it be, really?

"Nope, mostly just the morning so that dad could get some things done in the back~ I think I'm free once he gets your order done actually..." She hadn't much seen many other orders back there, or any actually... Not unusual ones that required special attention, or more supplies than what was in the cases in the front. Which meant... there had been a couple of times she could count herself free when he had come into the store, a little grin spreading on her face that this would be one of them.

"Since you're here and I'm probably about to be free let's go do something~" Which left her to wonder, after she said that, if he was free. She didn't really know what kind of work he did, or anything like that... More to dig into.

That one caught him slightly off guard. He quickly as always blinked away any sort of expression of surprise that may have tried to display itself. Instead he chewed on the thought quietly, his tongue giving out a click on the roof of his mouth whilst mulling it over. There wasn't much he did have to do today... except for later tonight. She could easily become a target if his aggressors took it the wrong way...

It was this voice of reason that had been about to decline. When he seemed to catch the bright look in her eyes, which snapped his mouth shut. Could he really refuse? He began weighing his pros and cons on the topic, despite how stupidly simple the offer might have been to the ordinary person. Theodore steadied himself with a sigh, finally producing some sort of readable body expression in the form of a smile. "Why not."

Why not? You know why not Theodore!

"You decide where you'd like to go. You know this town better than I do." He mustered before adding in his soothing tone of voice. "Just check if its okay with you dad first..."

A little grin lit up her face at that, clearly pleased that he was accepting her invitation. It would have been a lot more fun than going out alone, or hanging out at home all day. Upstairs above the shop, that is. It wasn't as though she disliked her home, or anything of that sort, but it was fun to get out every so often. See more of the city, especially when someone else was there. Going out for a young, pretty, girl like her? The odds of running into a creep were higher than running into a nice guy. Which was why her dad made her bring pepper spray if nothing else, that and he was oddly specific about her always wearing her silver cross. It was her mothers anyways, so she wore it as a memento if nothing else.

"Great I know some great places, ooh do you like movies? This one looked great that came a couple weeks ago. Perfect time to get in when the crowds are dying down." Kaylee responded, faintly rolling her eyes at the mention of her dad. It did nothing to diminish her excitement, though. She had no idea why her father could possibly not be okay with it, so there was clearly no problems as far as she was concerned. Which meant her entire plan was foolproof.

Speaking of the devil... the door behind her would soon open as her father came out from the back. The specially ordered bullets, as well as a few other things, were packed neatly into a unassuming box that he would hold out for Theodore. The fees for the goods added onto a tab, rather than a pay-per-visit situation.

"Hey, Theo and I are going to go do something." It wasn't exactly a request, since she wasn't exactly a child. An adult in her own right, simply letting him know so he wouldn't worry. That and so he would know she was taking off and wouldn't be there to watch the store. He looked... conflicted for a moment, and Kaylee had no idea why. This wasn't something hard, nor that complex, just her heading out with a new friend. Yet, he had no solid argument to give for it, and would instead just nod her head.

"Just try and be home before dark." He had always trusted her, she had never given him a reason not to, so she just kind of grinned all the more before nodding.

[/div]

The grin that showcased on her features was enough to brighten his own smile. It seemed to make him feel even better about his decision to go. However, the thought was nerve-racking, its not that he was doing anything illegal, or against the book... he was responsible enough was he not. As long as he didn't do anything that would complicate his position, or make him vulnerable, they'd be fine.

"A movie sounds good." He agreed. His gaze darting up from her to her dad as he walked in. Theo offered a small greeting before taking the box, grey eyes studying it momentarily, sure it was what he order the male then held it against his side under his arm. His expression slightly more cautious when Kaylee presented the question. Well, it was less of a question than Theo had hoped for.

Her father had every right to be unsure about this. Her father knew very well what his occupation was, the danger that he met with every night. Theodore dared to catch his gaze, his hardened gaze sending a message of assurance, that he would look after her.

"Just try and be home before dark."

Theo couldn't help but expel a sigh of relief, mimicking her grin before asking. "Shall we get going then?" He'd just have to pop this box in the car before they headed off. He slowly backtracked towards the door, and would open it for her hand she followed.
