When she was only 12 years old, she witnessed her father stab her mother 35 times. She ran away from home, only to be placed in a foster home. Ever since her mother's murder, she had been having night terrors and trouble sleeping, flashbacks and blackouts, but it wasn't until her father showed up at her new home and she blanked, ending up with a knife in her hand and being held back by her new parents and brothers and sisters in order to keep her from killing her father that they decided to take her to the doctor. She was later diagnosed with PTSD.

As a child, Aniston was ignored. Her parents would pass by her, and never say even a "hello". It was as if she was ghost of a person. Around five or six, Ann started acting out. In school she would talk and talk, and answer questions without raising her hand. She was seen as a trouble maker, and was usually criticized when she tried to do anything right. Everyone just thought she was a loud, obnoxious child, and none of them saw this as a real problem. It wasn't until she locked herself in her room, and downed a bottle of pills that people finally realized something was wrong with her.

At the age of eight, Elena adopted an imaginary friend. It was a harmless, childish phase that her mother thought she would grow out of. Although her "friend" wasn't as typical as most, Elena believed that it was the best thing that ever happened to her. Aside from the make-believe characters and monsters under her bed, she found it extremely difficult to think clearly in school and often spaced out or would relate topics to non-relative ones. Her mother, who had become severely worried that her child wasn't putting in enough effort, soon discovered that her delusional daughter was diagnosed with psychosis.

And now she's been committed. The butterflies aren't too bad anymore. The depression has taken a tole on her.

How you developed your disorder
When Kea was little she loved to sing. Everywhere she went she wouldn't miss the chance to get up on stage, well until the audition. Her father convinced her mother to let him take Kea to a talent search audition, which was fine though she was a little nervous. When it was her time to perform Kea gave it her all, hitting all the high and low notes perfectly, you would think it was an angel singing. After she sang the judges simply said "You're not our type." and waved her off the stage. Her father being him, stopped Kea from walking off and demanded to know why she didn't get the part. Without blink the judge simply said. "Well look at her...She's fat." Kea had never felt so embarrassed in her life as she ran off stage to cry. After that Kea never sat still, going from obese to standard weight in less than six months but after those six months, she went a little overboard, exercising whenever she could, and eating as little as she could without getting caught. Her parents never noticed but one day when they took her to the doctors, she demanded she be checked into a clinc. What Kea herd when the doctor spoke was now they were going to make her fat again.

In a last attempt to change Rose they locked herin a closet to reflect. That was the first time. Soon they became more ashamed of their daughter especally when she came out to them as a lesbian. Her parnts yelled at her "Since you decided to come out to us as a disgusting soul, you can spend the rest of your life in a damn closet!" She began to have a bad panic attack until she passed out. Ever since then, enclosed spaces have caused her to panic or become agutated. The pyromania developed when realized how calming the flames of an inferno were when she would begin to panic. Rose soon began to set fires to regain some sense of calm.

Mina was six when she found out her dad was cheating on her mother. Mina Had never wanted for a single thing in her entire life. she came from a rich family that was well respected and considered to be the " perfect " family. It was all one big lie. Her father was sleeping with not one\, but multiple other women. Her mother was not her mother and her brother was only half her brother. And the lies only continued to build from there. Everyday from then on, Mina has lied. "is your brother doing ok?" "of course! he's Wonderfull!" LIE he's slowly cutting his wrist until he bleeds dry. "Mina , WHere is your mother?" Technically Aiden was born with it,but it was dormant. Unfortunantly it didn't stay that way...
How do you explain this...Aiden didn't have a happy child hood by any means. An abusive mother,an alcoholic father,and no siblings to speak of,he was the prime target for their aggressions. This didn't bode well with the small boy,and very soon he fell into a miasma of psychotic breaks and mental disabilities...and this is what Freed him. As time went on He began to hide in his disabilities, becoming lost in the medicated fantasies time and time again,until the parents had it. Having been ignored and,in their eyes,disrespected by the boy,they moved to strike him during one of these. They never knew what happened. His father had his Head bashed in and his mother's neck was snapped in seconds of each other. The boy,only 14 at the time, didn't seem to register what he had done. His knuckles broken and bloody,he seemed to stop. He stopped functioning. He just sat there. When police found him he hadn't moved,the corpse of his n parents already rotting away. severely dehydrated and lack of nutrition made him easy to control. And for the next 3 years he simply sat in the ward,seeming to be in a state of comatose. He has probably been in the faculty the longest,but only just recently began to show response. Because of his period of unresponsiveness,he has taken on an almost animalistic nature,making his movements in a hunched,or in most cases,on all fours,and becoming fearful of others. He often cowers and hides from others,fearing more abuse will be set upon him...

A young woman with a love for the arts, but often feels her own actions prevent her from unleashing her true potential as a singer. Ever since she was fourteen, she fell in love with singing and would spend hours practicing. However, Amara also liked to party, and was involved with party drugs and picked up smoking cigarettes when she would go out with her friends. In her mind, it is clear to her anyone who wants to break free as a singer does nothing to prevent this from happening. Talent flows within her, and she knows this very well. Aside from not being perfectly content with herself and her actions, Amara is very caring and believes in treating others how she wishes to be treated. Her mother may lack certain discipline in her eyes, but she certainly instilled the need for a lady to act as such. Amara lacks confidence, not so much with how she looks or carries herself, but with the decisions she makes. While she understands no one is perfect, she has it set in her mind that how she lives her life will eventually affect her talents. This may be true, but Amara also understand she is young, and can lead the life she chooses.

If you were to ask Amara's mother, she would tell you this all started when Amara was thirteen. As you grow older, you realize things and see that your actions result in your reward. Amara's mother merely hopes her time at Stepping Stones will open her eyes, to not be depressed about how things are but to simply... accept her flaws and utilize her strengths.

Dahlia is beautiful and regal. Her posture is amazing, her voice and French accent are delightful, and the way she approaches people is as perfect as a person could be. But this is all a lie. All throughout her life, Dahlia has been forced by her ignorant mother to be the epitome of perfection. No matter how hard she tries, though, she is still imperfect. She is anxious when speaking to a person more than once and stutters constantly like she is programmed to do that. She is a complete wreck on the inside and prefers to stay away from people to prevent risky negativity. She is very moody and has frequent mood swings ranging from panics to sudden rage to random joy.

Dahlia was born in Denver, Colorado, the youngest out of 5 children to a very... problematic mother. She was a narcissist who believed her children were perfect angels. Dahlia was the child who made the most mistakes in her childhood by lying accidentally and making mistakes that any young child would've made. She was abused because of this. Dahlia was constantly forced to be the best girl possible. Not only was this being forced on her, but perfectionism was forced on her even more in school because of bullying. She was diagnosed at 12 with severe OCD. Not only is she forced to be perfect, but she also has habitual dreams about death and dying in some tragic way. These dreams usually come during winter, the season she hates the most because it is the season when she gets in most trouble, triggering depression in her.
