Fandom Star Wars: Red Legion

Jaq smirked as he looked at his boar friend. "Fine just know if stuff goes sideways I'm having bacon."

Koxa saw the gamorrean dragging his feet as he arrived at the raptor glancing back at Jace, whom had quite a few ideas on the problems the jedi order was facing. Koxa didn't have much knowledge of the jedi beyond the ones that had traveled to dathomir.

"Indeed" Koxa agreed when the monk mentioned creating something from nothing. Jaq had some thoughts on the jedi as well, giving some insight and expanding on it.

"Not surprising" He commented. Koxa didn't care what Gronak brought, it wasn't any of his business. Though glancing over, he had quite a bit of supplies. A lot more than Koxa would, but understandably, the gamorrean was much bigger and required more food.

"Not that it matters. If we finish this mission fast enough, food will be the least of our concerns" Kosa replied. Koxa's attention returned to his artifact. Carefully putting it away. He shut his eyes and began focusing on meditating since it helped pass the time.

Jaq smirked as he looked at his boar friend. "Fine just know if stuff goes sideways I'm having bacon."
Gronak didn't quite get the joke, his initial reaction was shock until he looked to Murphy and saw that assuring smile. Murphy, knowing that his big friend didn't quite grasp humor, he would let him know often when he was 'in on the joke.'

As Murphy piloted on with the Y-9 Raptor, he couldn't help but laugh aloud, his jovial spirit shining through. "You know, Gronak's hobbies are something else. He patrols all day and all night; I seriously question his other habits, like when does he sleep? Or bathe for that matter, you may want to rethink your dinner plans, Jaq. I think the pork has spoiled." Murphy quipped. When it didn't seem to occur to Gronak what he was saying, Murphy clarified, "I'm saying we shouldn't eat you because you probably taste like you smell." This caused another bit of a pig like snort of a laugh from the Gamorreaon. He could always laugh at a joke if someone explained it to him, especially Murphy. Even if he didn't get the explanation, no matter the mood. He would laugh. Murphy knew humor, and if he thought something was funny. It had to be funny.

Murphy always had a witty retort up his sleeve, even when faced with the grimmer aspects of war. He had a sunny disposition when it came to his comrades, especially since he got stationed with Bravo team, who reminded him of his clone family. A group meant to be expended had accomplished so much and relationships were made. In a way it reminded Murphy of the ' glory days.'

You can tell Murphy had a rough life, but it was all normal now, he had to make the best of it. He was made for this. Fortunately for him, Bravo team made it pretty easy. He could sail practically any ship through the most dangerous situation. The best part is that when you are rescuing ones you care about it, it can come easy.

This banter prompted Gronak to lift his massive, snout-like nose into the air, taking a moment to check his own odor. He was a bit curious on the smell too...

Long ago as the Dark Jedi Ajunta Pall and his comrades escaped to the planet Corriban after their failed take over. The met the inhabitants of the planet and took their name the Sith. Seeing the power of the force. How the Jedi and them rely on it in combat he and the other sith started a plan to create slave warriors who could resist the force. Their actions while unsuccessful in their time were not forgotten

"Slave Warriors." Jaq said going over the tablet again. He shook his head as he got started on the second tablet.

"Check one check one." Murphy said. "We are entering into Menios Threes Atmosphere be prepared for intense planetary reentry. And thank you for flying Air Murph today. Please think about coming back for all your travel needs."

As Murphy eases the Y-9 Raptor onto the diverse terrain of Meinos Three, the heavy forests and swamps unfold beneath. The landing gear delicately adjusts to the uneven ground, and the thrusters gently lower the ship amidst the rich, humid air. Bravo steps out onto the verdant landscape, surrounded by towering trees and the subtle hum of swamp creatures.

Grinning, Murphy comments through the comlink, "Welcome to Meinos Three, where the air is thick with adventure and mosquitoes the size of speeder bikes! Be sure to check out the majestic mountains near the south pole – they're like the planet's own crown jewels. And watch out for our friendly neighborhood Wompas, they might be planning a surprise forest picnic. Now, who's up for a swim in the swamp? Don't worry; our two-feet mosquitoes make excellent lifeguards!"

Koxa remained in meditative posture throughout the duration of most of the flight to Hoth. Relaxed, but alert. At one point Jaq mentioned looking at the tablet. Thhe term slave warriors was brought up. A term that Koxa knew well as many people on his planet would serve as nightbrothers or slaves to nightsisters. Though these were not the ones he knew as they were of sith origins on some other planet.

Koxa listened to Murphy's jokes and cheerful commentary. A very friendly guy. This jungle planet would certainly catch his attention. Giant mosquitos would be hard to miss. As he looked out the ship, he saw the planet. It wasn't dathomir, but seemed just as hostile in it's own way. Almost homey for the zabrak. Perhaps Koxa would return to this planet at a later date. Though for now they had a task at hand. He immediately noticed the humid air. He took in a deep breath before taking a more detailed look around.

"I wonder where to now?" Koxa asked. He looked around. Koxa had never swam before so he wasn't entirely sure if he knew how. Kosa then glanced over at Gronak.

"I hope you're ready to squish some mosquitos Koxa said taking his bow out his sash. He they were as dangerous as they sounded, Koxa would need to be ready to deal with them as well. A well placed shot would surely help. He lifted his shoulders up then dropped them, stretching his shoulders then working down his arms stretching the joints.

"Listen up." The old man said. "Team three your taking point. Team one your guarding our rear. I want the rest of you on our sides. Move out." He said opening the door. As it opened Jaq walked out. The would be archeologists gone as the fighter emerged. "Alright Team three let's get a move on." He said looking at the Boar, Zabrack, Warrior Monk, and Twi'lik. "Let's try and survive and if any of us get taken by these Mosquitoes make sure to shoot them down." He said.

The old man watched as the teams filed out. He looked at the inquisiter that wasn't amused. "Make sure to keep the engines hot Murph." He said before departing being the last to exit.

'Like a pig in mud'

Was the only way to explain how the boar felt, he grinned from each side of his porcine face. Gronak, the Gamorrean, grunts approvingly, feeling right at home in the swampy embrace of Meinos Three. He sheds layers, revealing his gigantic form, and efficiently packs the party's gear with a gutteral efficiency that speaks of survival instinct. Vibro-ax in hand, his tusks glinting, Gronak welcomes the swamp like a long-lost kin, his primal nature surfacing.

He is a Gamorrean on a hunt, ready to conquer the challenges of Meinos Three with a snort and a swagger.

Jaq’s words have provoked some thoughts within Jace’s head. If that’s what happened. Perhaps the Jedi didn’t betray the Republic or if they did why. It’s a net positive for the galaxy that their tradition is gone. Leaves room for better ones. But what does that have to do with Slave Warriors.

Jace remained quiet for the rest of the flight. As they landed and disembarked Jace extended his arm carrying his wan shen. The white wrapping on it peeled off on their own wrapping around his arm. This revealed the crimson red polearm with a blade at the end and an ominous aura.

Jace felt into formation at the enter of his team. Range isn’t his thing so he did not want to be in the way of anyone’s blaster Fire. Speed is his thing and at the center he do short dash intercepts of incoming enemies. Any mosquito that thinks it can carry off one of his teammates will have his wan shen to answer to.

Jaq continues his pace before slowing down. He motioned for everyone to stop and get down.

About half a mile away he saw two people in hand me down armor standing guard and looking around.

He sent a scout drone ahead to get closer. It was small enough that people wouldn't notice. Once it was in range it sent video and audio to Jaq's arm.

"Why are we here?" The first man asked. He was a Quarren. He probably like the humidity. Jaq thought

"That's a good question." The second a human male said. "Why are we here. Is there a reason behind life. What is the meaning of life? God? Or are we all just doomed to oblivion?" The Quarren turned to look at the man.

"No why are we here? There is no one for miles. Why are we patrolling What's this about God? " the Quarren asked confused

"OH well." Before the human could say anything else a large mosquito picked him up and carried him away."

"Johnson!" The Quarren screamed before firing his blaster in the direction his friend disappeared to. Before he could report in another one grabbed him. Jaq cringed as he heard the Quarren's screams.

Jaq just stared at what he saw dumbfounded. He quickly looks behind himself. "This is team three." Jaq said in his communicator. "Be advised the giant bugs make next to no sound and take people away." He said to Bravo Company before motioning the group to move forward.

~Koxa...~

Koxa glanced over at the quarren whom didn't seem so keen to be on the remote swamp planet they now found themselves on. The humidity was an odd feeling. If anything, Koxa was mildly enjoying it. It was a nice change of pace from Dathomir weather. Koxa ignored the quarren's complaints and began moving about. There were two guards in standing armor. So long as they did not catch their attention or bother them, they weren't a problem.

The screams of the quarren being attacked by giant bugs couldn't go unnoticed. he took cover near some large trees, and aimed with his bow, firing a single round aimed for the giant bug, careful not to hit the team member. The mosquito would disappear along with the octopus man. Koxa watched nonchalantly as there was little he could do.

"Hmmm. So the hunt begins" Koxa said. Koxa relaxed held his bow in firing position. Another bug could come at any moment. Koxa had half a nerve to stand behind Gronak. No way they'd lift that big boy up, that boy never missed a meal.

Gronak, the loyal Gamorrean, followed Jaq's lead with a disciplined precision, his vibro-ax at the ready. As the group advanced, a sense of familiarity struck Gronak when the giant mosquito appeared. While he had never witnessed such colossal insects before, it triggered memories of the dangerous beasts on Gamorr, his homeworld.

Gronak's primal instincts kicked in. He was unfazed, almost welcoming the challenge, his loyalty to Jaq evident in the steadfastness of his stance.

The Gamorrean, recalling the challenges of his home planet, was prepared to bring the battle back to the ground, determined to confront these colossal insects with a warrior's resolve.

Gronak grunted in response to his comrade Koxa, the words almost forced through his tusks. "Hunt started when we landed. These bugs, they smell us, see us. No surprise. They think of us as easy picks." His speech was halting and gruff, a stark contrast to the effortless communication through body language, snorts, and squeals that were more natural to him. It was as if every word was a struggle against the Gamorrean's usual inclination for brevity and action over speech. Nonetheless, his message carried a clear warning – they were being hunted, and the Gamorrean was ready for the impending battle.

Velara did not attend the briefing with the imperials, she always commented that any interactions with any imperials and hers would likely end in some unpleasant outcomes. Though she was willing to take their contracts and credits, she never really fully reconciled herself to fully being a mercenary, despite her time with red legionaries. And going after rebels did not sit right to her, she always preferred the contracts that went against proper criminals like the Hutts or other syndicates. She hoped it would be a wild goose chase with the rebels leaving the planet the moment they heard about Hoth.

She joined one of the teams that was going planet side on Meinos Three, and they had barely landed before meeting trouble. "Large mosquitos and swamps... This outfits certainly takes us to places of luxury." She commented jokingly as she put on the last of her gear and stepped out of the ship with the others. Her sniper rifle was raised at the ready scanning the sorrounding at all the flying creatures about. Jungles were the worst for attacking forces, especially for the unprepared. Dark, plenty of hiding places and all around plenty of fauna and flora ready to make their lives a living hell. She was grateful that her experience in the clone wars was never situated in one. The stories she heard...

It was not long before their was word that two of their prey was kidnapped by them and they were next in the food chain. She quickly ducked down and trying to find cover behind a rock. She cursed as she scanned the air hopping to get on of the offending mosquitos into her spoke. "Hunt, huh? Well... They haven't contented with one of the best snipers of the clone wars." She said before having a prickly feeling on the back of her neck, she instinctively turned with her rifle at the ready and fired, the blaster shot struck home at a mosquito who was aiming to make her a meal. She took a deep breath and fired several shots guided by instincts hitting three out of five shots fired.

Jaq let out a chuckle. "Been with the Legion all of my adult life. I have yet to be assigned a mission on a tropical planet." He said to the tag along.

"Keep your eyes focused." He raised his blaster riffle and set his scout droid on free roam. "While you may be hunting the bugs something else may be hunting you." He said as he moved slower. He raised his blaster and fired two consecutive shots taking out just as many mosquitoes.

"Keep blaster fire to a minimum." He heard the old man over the comms. "Any of you legionairs worth your salt should be able to deal with these over grown pests physically. We are still trying to be Stealth."

Koxa had listened to the others speak about hunting and their current task at hand. Koxa nodded at Gronak as he mentioned they were hunting the moment they got off the ship. Koxa heard the blaster fire to a minimum, and lifted his bow.

"Well luckily for me, blaster fire won't be necessary. In the corner of Koxa's eye, he had spotted one in a distance through the trees. He began sneaking behind bushes and around trees, making his way down the side of the hill until he could get a better view. It was exactly what he thought it was. Lining his shot up, annnnd gottem! Koxa fired his bow, releasing a purple bolt, silently flying through the air as it flew towards its mark. Through the back of the abdomen and out the front of the head, the bolt poked out. He shot one of the mosquitos. As it fell to the ground, he continued moving. There were likely much more. Perhaps he'd get some interesting alchemical ingredients. He took a container and went over to the misquito.

With his knife pulled out, he cut off several parts of the mosquito, and put them safely in the container. What he'd do with them was anyone's guess. For now, he'd focus on the assignment. It didn't take long to get behind cover. Further he moved before pausing. He gave a hand gesture to the others. He had spotted something. Large furry creature in the distance. Likely more dangerous than the insects.

All the mosquitoes would really see when they’re coming at Jace is a red blur and then there heads would be on the ground. This is the whirlwind speed of the Matukai. It produced no more noise than sound a foot sweeping some leaves. Jace thought about throwing his wan shen but a red polearm floating around in the air would be a little too visually conspicuous. Instead he waited for the flying insects to fly towards him and meet their doom.

Jace followed along with the rest of the team. “Should I just intercept the mosquitoes for our team?” Jace asked after the Old Man radioed about the blaster fire. He figured he should offer considering everyone else in the team are carrying blasters.

Gronak forged ahead with brutish determination. His gnarled feet sent ripples through the muck as he navigated the treacherous terrain, his green hide glistening with swamp filth. Amidst the decaying vegetation, Gronak moved with surprising grace, his beady eyes scanning for signs of life in the twisted trees.

Suddenly, the swamp's ambient hum was shattered by the colossal wings of a mosquito, eyeing Gronak as its next meal. The monstrous insect swarmed in and attempted to catch the Gamorrean by surprising, lifting him into the area. The mosquito struggled valiantly, its wings buzzing with futile effort, but it could not ascend with its hefty prey. Seizing the opportunity, the monstrous insect extended its proboscis, aiming to pierce Gronak's tough skin and feast on his lifeblood. Gronak, however, was not one to be taken down by a 'mere insect.' With a swift and practiced motion, he unsheathed his vibro-ax, its humming blade glinting in the dim light. In a single, powerful swing, he cleaved the titanic mosquito diagonally down the middle. The insect's colossal halves tumbled to the swamp floor, and Gronak's snout curled into a satisfied snarl. With the threat eliminated, Gronak resumed his relentless march, his massive frame undeterred by the recent encounter. The scent of something, something potent and alluring, hung in the air. It drew him in like a moth to a flame, and he continued forward, ever vigilant, the swampy wilderness yielding to his indomitable will. Gronak was on the trail of something, and nothing would stand in his way.

Jaq thought for a second. "Yeah Jace if any get close to us. Seems like Koxa has a work around." He said seeing the bow in the Zabracks hand. "Same with..." He watched as Gorank was already charging at them. "Just do what your doing Gorank" He said. He looked at the Twi'lik and Tugruta. "Either of you have long range silent weapons?" He asked before taking out his Vibro-knife and cutting one of the bugs in half.

Velara frowned at the order to hold of on Blaster fire. Tactically, it made sense to keep the Blaster fire to a minimum, dont want to attract attention. Still she disliked the idea of keeping the mosquitos closer than rifle range. She took a deep breath and switched from her rifle to her pistol. "Have Blaster suppressor but only my pistol I am afraid. You have to give me more bonus pay to afford a riffle suppressor too," She commented as she attached the suppressor to her pistol. "Have my Vibroblade too, just hope I don't have to do us it on the mosquitos. Bug blood is hard to clean." she added with look of disgust.

"If you wanna try take out all the mosquitos yourself, be my guest. They aren't difficult should one see them coming. Less effort on our part" Koxa commented. Koxa wasn't sure if the monk was trying to show off or a protector of sorts, but he wasn't going to overthink it. Koxa turned his attention and looked over at Gronak as he handled another mosquito. Glancing over at Jaq then as he asked the remaining team members if they had a silent way of fighting back against the airborne insect threat that loomed in the swamplands. Koxa had his daggers as well, but luckily for him, he would not need to rely on it as he also had his bow still. As Koxa went to look back at te fur covered creature, he noticed it went inside a cave.

"Looks like beast is leaving. I wonder when it'll come out again. How far do we need to travel?" Koxa asked.

"...Bug blood is hard to clean."

The little snort escaped the snout of Gronak, as he cut through another mosquito with his vibro-ax, the blood was thick on his hide. Was it the insect's own lifeblood or his last meal? It didn't matter to the uncivilized Gamorrean much, but when one of his comrades made comment he would always 'try' and notice. As much as he always would anyway, Gronak didn't like to stick out.

Gronak knelt down near Koxa during his recon of the cave, with his vibro-ax in one hand he was ready for anything. He looked up at Jaq ready for anything but hungry for combat.

Jaq knelt at the side of the cave. He commanded his scout bot to go in. It looked clear on the inside. "Alright let's...." His voice was cut off as something knocked the small scout to the ground and trampled on it. A large Hog came out. It had dark brown fur. It stood at six feet on all fours. It was round but Jaq figured there wasn't an ounce of fat on the creature.

It howled as if to challenge only to hear another creature howl back. A large Wompa emerged from the swamp It's fur was matted green with the swamp water dripping from it. The Hog rushed at the wompa colliding with it. The force of the impact sent shock waves in the near by area
