The Timeline of The Universe

Set in the year 19,712 ACE there is a long, rich, and diverse history in this universe. Entire novels could be written about each and every sector of the milky way galaxy. So i will try to narrow it down to the pertinent information that we will have in this sector. Starting with out divergence from the true history this world shares with our own.

~The Beginning of the Era of Wonders~

Mankind faced extinction by their own hands in the middle of the 21st century. So violent was the fall that none can recall if it was due to war, or disaster, or even divine retribution. However all agree that mankind brought its calamity upon itself. Those of strong will and sharp mind would survive, but not by themselves. Only by coming together could they thrive. Thus there came an end to the divided nations and the United Coalition of Earth Ended war in the Entire World by start of the 22nd century. Much of the following two centuries were dedicated to rebuilding and purifying the world of the Toxins, and Waste, and even the Very memory of the past. Perhaps with too much Zeal, they purged all cultures that did not align with their the UCE. Yet with equal zeal they elevated all of man. Knowledge, Health, Opportunity, all were given freely and in equal measure. The elites of old, long since cast down, were replaced with those who had earned their power, and monitored by a population who could and would destroy them should they become corrupt.

Fusion came near the beginning of the 22nd century ending our energy consumption concerns, Genetic Manipulation near the middle of that Same century ended disease and revolutionized medicine extending life expectancy and birthrates until humanity had not only regained its pre calamity population, but shot past it. Space travel was restarted and saw many advancements in the final years of the 22nd. Colonies on mars, The moon, and Several mobile habitat space stations were built. With the whole of humanity working together each problem that arose was merely another opportunity to innovate and advance. Yet by far the greatest discovery was made by a german scientist named Charles Muric, who’s discovery of the Spirit Particle within humans would not only confirm the existence of the Soul, but it would make humanity aware of the spiritual world and all that was in it.

The Spirit particle Unsurprisingly called the Muric, was found to leave a human upon death and through following it mankind discovered A spiritual world that had its own physics and strange as it was it allowed us to transcend the concepts of speed, distance and time. It took the rest of the century to figure it out but eventually we discovered how to enter this spiritual world, and Then how to move our ships through it. With this technology a Journey of 100,000 light years could be completed in only One Year. Suddenly mankind expanded like wildfire. We discovered how to extract Energy and Matter from the Spiritual world and manifest it into the physical one thus thrusting man into an era of Post scarcity, sailing across the stars to fill the galaxy.

~The End of Wonders~

For almost three thousand years mankind was in a golden age of Godlike capacity, yet that came to an end when they met the first alien species. The Alveolar were a species of Strange Brain-like Masses of flesh who could defy gravity, Emit powerful electrical impulses, communicate telepathically, and had incredible psychic technology that could compete very well against mankinds. Yet the most important trait they had…they absolutely Hated Humanity with a Zeal that would put many religious sects to shame, Even their Children would fight us as viciously as possible. The Alveolar Accepted no terms of peace, they would not allow humanity to even leave them and their section of space alone, they instead took any opportunity they could to lash out at mankind. Eventually they would destroy an entire colonial solar system killing tens of billions, the outcry to act was so loud that none could ignore it. The Exploration vessels of mankind were weaponized and A navy fleet was formed. As formidable as the Alveolar were, They had but three planets under their control, and A total population of under 10 billion. Their defeat was inevitable as the sheer number of human ships that came to them was more than ten times the entire fleet of vessels they possessed, military or otherwise. They fought to their last and a particularly spiteful admiral ordered the bombardment of their three worlds leading to the extinction of the species. The admiral was punished with being stripped of his rank and tasked with cataloguing the lost civilizations culture out of what remained.

Mankind would continue their star sailing but with a bit of a chip on their shoulder from then on. As we expanded further and our colonies neared the galactic center we encountered several more alien civilizations, ranging from stone age, all the way to a few that were slightly more advanced than mankind. Each and every one Invariably would attack us upon laying eyes upon us. This hardened the Hearts of mankind leading to an extremely Xenophobic culture growing strong within mankind. We embraced our apparent role as the Universes Boogie man. While most fell to unending Fleets of mankind, a select few proved themselves unconquerable foes, establishing military gridlocks and no go zones where even the greatest of fleets would break.

Eventually scientists would decipher some alien languages and we learned why we were hated, and why we were so Advantaged in population, resources, and travel time. It seemed our meddling with the spiritual world was not without consequence. We had destroyed entire realms of Afterlife, burned billions of souls, and even killed gods without being any the wiser. However our greatest sin was yet to come. Our leaders upon learning this, had it covered up. The scientists who discovered it were killed, the study of alien languages and cultures was deemed illegal heresy punishable by death, and they continued as though they had never discovered the horrible truth.

~Judgement Falls upon Mankind…Again.~

Even with the Powerful aliens we could not best taking chunks of the milky way, mankind would dominate most of it eventually filling more that 50% of the galaxy with colonies by the year 13,000 BCE. Yet while our leaders had discovered the damage we were doing to the spirit world their decree kept mankind oblivious to something the ancient and superstitious religions of old had long warned of…the Spiritual world was not empty, nor was it only for the souls of mortals. There were Things there. The Archeon and their Eternal Rivals the Infernus. Once a single species of spiritual beings, long since divided by mortal souls introducing morality to the spirit world. We called them Angels, Demons, Gods, Spirits, Monsters in ages past. Their long standing rivalry was set aside for one thing they could both agree upon. Mankind needed to be purged lest they destroy the very balance of reality.

Alien warbands appealed to these spiritual beings and allowed themselves to be in-dwelt producing powerful possessed Alien Warriors. Humanity was stricken all at once, nearly every sector of their great empire falling into chaotic war. Countless trillions died in the fray, but One of the most battle hardened sectors, The Siptah Sector, produced their own Spiritual super soldiers. By making small Vortexes into the Spirit world, and anchoring them to a human soul, they could create humans with powers akin to Angels or demons, beings capable of extracting and converting spirit energy and matter from the spiritual realm, into matter and energy that they could steer into place within our realm. These Super Soldiers of the Siptah Sector were called wardens and they were able to repel these Possessed Alien armies until the Schism occured.

While the Siptah Sector did excellent initially, the rest of the human empires sectors fell one by one Until Siptah was surrounded and fighting a war on ALL fronts. These Superhuman Wardens eventually began to be overwhelmed and The leaders of the Siptah sector, Namely the three First wardens came up with a plan to make the single most powerful bomb in the history of the universe, and detonate it in the spiritual realm as the invaders crossed their lines. This resulted in what many called the Schism as it ensured that humanity would never again be united with the sectors they had lost. Though successful, their plan came at a great cost. What was once a great army of millions of wardens, was reduced to a mere 5 individuals. However the Angels and Demons were destroyed by the all consuming blaze and their hosts with them.

The Intergalactic lanes through the cosmos were destroyed, along with all the gates and engines in the siptah sector that drew power from or connected to the Spiritual world. The regular humans for the most part unaffected by the weapons detonation. The five remaining wardens would forge the Council and would promptly begin to rebuild the wardens fearing their enemy was not truly broken. Yet they were indeed Destroyed. Dozens of species collapsed as their warriors and ships perished and were lost to the expanse of space. The Siptah Sector would rebuild what was lost, however they would fall away from use of Muric/Spiritual technology. The Wardens would become the primary military force of the sector and The remnants of alien empires, human survivors from other sectors turned to piracy, and the occasional arrival of a angel or demon would keep them busy and justify the growing of their ranks back into the tens of thousands. This was the way it went for another six thousand years.

~The Narrative Age~

This finally brings us to the modern Day in our story. The year 19,712 ACE. In this world it is Called 6,512 AS (After Schism). Since the schism The Siptah Sector has Expanded Slowly in all directions, yet at less than 1% the speed of the expansion rate of the Era of Wonders they have a mere couple Dozen worlds. None can travel at FTL speeds with the exception of the Wardens Whose spirit walk ability allows them to teleport from one side of the System to the other in a matter of seconds. Fusion, Light speed engines, 3d printing even of organics, Energy weapons, Interstellar ships, this era is Advanced but only about as far as humans can go without use of Muric particles.

The System is governed by the Five Wardens who survived the Schism Which are now Called the Council Eternus. Yet Incursions from aliens have increased, as have rebellions and The system seems to be slipping further and further into chaos. Everyone who is even a little hut aware can sense that something big is about to happen, its almost like there is electricity in the air. The Ink written on the pages of the Book of destiny is now dry and unbeknownst to them Several New Wardens, Still Rookies in the grand scheme of things, are soaked in this Ink of Destiny and the story they write may well determine the fate of all things.

Playable Races.

Humans- Your standard human being from the Siptah system would actually make a pretty good living as a superhero. With a life expectancy of nearly 300 years you’d have plenty of time to master a wide range of skills. Genetic modification and Biotechnology implants can grant you enhanced senses, regenerative properties for your cells, and even help you easily maintain peak human capabilities. With proper clearances they can even be attached to a wardens Support team and be given military grade technological augmentations such a laser blaster in their finger, or jets in your feet, or perhaps your more of a micro missiles under the tongue type of person. Either way Humans in this setting have some of the most versatility, but its balanced by having the most vulnerability to spiritual assaults, which is why all military humans are put on a squad with a Warden.

Angels & Demons (Archaons & Infernus) -
Both angels and demons have kinda the same set of powers. They can manipulate spirit atoms and energy. This seems like it wouldn’t be very useful, but many can use it to literally Eat a beings soul, destroy it, and even dominate after lives. If they latch onto the soul of a living being they can actually possess them, and bring their powers such as pre made spells and constructs from the spiritual world into the real world, even mutating their host body to reflect their true appearance. A particularly powerful Angel or demon will have servants of a lesser order of their respective species working in the spirit world to continually provide the Indwelling Boss of theirs with freshly made spells and constructs allowing them to seemingly have no mana bar to their spell casting. The more the host struggles, the less power can be utilized meaning both Angels and Demons seek hosts who WANT them to indwell them, which is why the Schism was so bad, many aliens were willing to do anything to see the humans destroyed, thus giving the hordes of these spiritual beings no shortage of hosts. Their population was heavily reduced by the schism but Morticies has encountered a few survivors in the material world that survived the Schisms end.

Wardens- once humans, these beings have been altered to make them more capable of spiritual warfare. The process is similar to how sorcerers, shamans, and magic users of the ancient days of man. Using their Soul they can pull Matter and energy from the spirit world and manifest it on the physical plane, seemingly creating Matter and energy to arrange as they see fit. This is acheived through hyper charging the souls with Muric particles until it forms a vortex. Each individuals soul is different and manifests the powers differently however A few abilities l are possessed by all Wardens. Spirit walking, which lets them step in and out of the spirit world, in which time does not pass, allowing them to seemingly teleport. They can see BOTH the spiritual world and the material world at once. Which lets them see a persons emotional state, and perceive threats like angels or demons, not to mention seeing if someone is possessed or not. Their lifespan becomes infinite, they no longer age and can actually regenerate very rapidly by replacing lost parts of their bodies with spirit molecules that they turn into material molecules. They can even enhance their abilities by directly charging their bodies with spiritual energy. The training process takes at minimum a decade, and used to be handled by Therios, but is now handled by a team of drill sergeants. A warden typically avoids getting implants or prosthesis as it create parts of their body that the Spirit energy cannot flow through. Only about ten thousand wardens currently exist, the low survival rates, and extended periods of strength deter the undedicated, but the power and reknown that comes with being a warden is worth it for a good many.

The Council Wardens (Mankinds Living Gods.)

Adamhai, The Infinite.
One of the first three Wardens and believed to be the most powerful of all Wardens to ever Exist. His mastery over the Muric allows him to Not only Resurrect himself rendering him immortal, but he has even Mass resurrected the populations of Entire planets, and Dispersed Wandering Black holes. Nothing he has ever done seems to have winded him in the slightest leaving the impression of his power being without end, he disputes this, yet not with very much effort. His personal Planet is called “the tip of the spear” and is a hot world very close to its sun in the northernmost corner of the Sector of Siptah. While uninhabitable for humans, powerful enough Wardens can withstand this heat and Adamhai claims to enjoy the solitude.

Aldeline, The Great Denier. The Second of the first Three Wardens. Having lost her family in the First raid of the Schism Aldeline grew to be one of the most Hateful towards Alien lifeforms in the entire Sector of Siptah. Her mastery of Stealing energy from our world to deposit in the spirit world has allowed her to nigh instantly reduce an object’s temperature to absolute zero. Furthermore she has a unique talent for dismantling Shields and nullifying even the most potent of energy weapons. Having even been able to freeze a nuclear blast before it finished its expansion she is Justly named The Great denier as she once used her abilities to fend off a attempt by a massive fleet to enter the Siptah sector. Despite Hundreds of Enemy vessels…Not a single one made it past her declared line. Her personal planet, a solidly frozen ocean world, has six gorgeous rings around it, all made of corpses of millions of Aliens, Pirates, and their Derelict frozen vessels.

Morticies, The Death Dealer.
If there is one being who could he argued to hate the “filthy Alien scum” more so than Aldine it is Morticies. His homeworld was completely engulfed in the enemies of man during the schism. He became a warden just before the war ended, yet his changing may have been a mistake. He has devoted all six thousand five hundred years of life to ending as many of siptahs enemies as he possibly can…and by now his kill count is in the trillions. Even humanity fears this horrifying being. He revels in death, disease, and Torture inarguably representative of the worst traits of mankind. He has earned a reputation as a Genocidal Death god among the aliens of the cosmos, even The Angels and Demons seem to be hesitant to step to this monstrosity. While most of his time is spent in his battle cruiser surrounded by his aggressive Attack fleet, his Personal world is a putrid and Feculent sore on the Siptah System, the bloated bodies of the victims of his pestilence make up a single black ring around his world. Yet for all his horror, Morticies has personally extended the lifespan of those who dwell in the Siptah System, By creating and infecting himself with diseases that he may experience their symptoms and best develop a cure…and of course find a way to weaponize it.

Nashia, The World Forger. Arguably the most intelligent Warden in existence, Nashia was a rookie when the Schism happened, yet while the other schism survivors weathered the storm of spiritual fire that came with the bomb, Nashia was able to spare herself the pain and possible death by crafting for herself a shell of nigh indestructible stone and wrapping it around her soul on the spirit worlds side of reality. Afterwards her growth seemed absolutely insane, she helped the Sector of Siptah rebuild by terraforming entire worlds to make them inhabitable, and even turning debris fields into entirely new worlds. This natural talent lead to her being a sure choice for the council and earned her the name The world forger. Her personal world is verdent garden of unparalleled beauty, that is home to countless endangered species, unfortunately for this reason she does not allow settlements here. It is rumored that her world is weaponized and capable of fending off even Morticies Fleet.

Therios , Bearer of All that is Man. The last of the three first wardens, and inarguably the man who lost the most to the Schism. He left behind his wife and children to become a warden and would go on to train the vast majority of those that came after him becoming the drill sergeant and de-facto father figure for many of them. He fought alongside his men and never faltered for a second, even when he found that his world had been destroyed with no survivors, he fought through bitter tears without letting his hatred overtake him. When the bomb was suggested he opposed it, but once outvoted he set aside his pride and personally carried it into the spirit world fully prepared to die when he detonated it. In spite of his being the closest to the weapon at its time of detonation…he survived. Gods help him he survived. What he witnessed in the moments after its detonation seemed to break him. Tens of trillions of souls burned before his very eyes, many of them the very kids he had trained and turned into warriors. His mind shattered and his memories flooded out of him slipping through his addled psyche. Upon his return he was given a seat on the council as compensation for what he was asked to do. He now seems to be obsessed with his image and how others see him. His private planet is the only among the councils worlds that is habitable for people, and he lets people live there showering all who do with wealth and blessings of honor and love. However in return he asks that his people craft hundred meter marble statues of himself…which he throws from the surface of the planet Through enemy ships as they approach. While No one truly knows where he falls in the ranking of power for the council members. He has never once been harmed by any attack thrown his way, he does not seem to give Adamhai the same fearful respect the other warden councilors do, Morticies has even backed down from his challenge before. Wether these things are signs of his insanity or power is the very subject of debate. He seems to value his belt above all other things and is said to even Bathe with it on, odd considering it was a gift from Adamhai and Nashia both of whom he seems to often argue with.
