Spirits. The ethereal realm. Power. Bonds.
In this world, these are the only things that matter. Kings and Queens squabble for power and property, waging never-ending wars with vast armies. At the forefront of these forces are the Ethereal Mages. People born bonded to an Astral spirit, able to manifest as powerful creatures into the material plane and feed their masters arcane energy to fuel devastating spells, give them superhuman physical attributes and other abilities.
This war between the four reigning kingdoms however is different. Dark Astrals are showing up when there have been none for more then a hundred years. Important officials are going missing only to appear days later, acting strange and unlike themselves. A mysterious cult is gaining followers and power, their agenda unknown but sinister. But, not only has the material world been affected, but the astral plane as well.
Six heroes, mages and human alike are chosen by destiny and the gods themselves to clash against the forces that seek to tear their world asunder. Will they be able to rise to the challenge? Or will their very souls be lost to the darkness forever.
