Backstory

Originally from Earth-65, Gwen lived a pretty normal life.  She lived with her police officer father and went to school with her versions of Mary Jane (whom Gwen was in a band with as their drummer), her neighbor Peter Parker, and Harry Osburn.  After she was bit by a radioactive spider, Gwen transformed into Spider-Woman.  At first, the use of her powers were motivated by her own self interest, but when her father suggested that Spider-Woman could use her powers for the greater good, Gwen decided that it would be best to do just that.  From then on, she used her powers to help people.  After Peter Parker's death on Earth-65, the press blamed Spider-Woman (and Gwen blamed herself, too).  In an effort to clear her name, Gwen took up crime fighting.

One day, as she was using her dimensional travel watch, something went wrong, sending her to Earth-TRN562.  There she found herself at the school known as Avengers Academy.  She tried to return to her own dimension, but it was no use.  That was when Director Fury contacted her.  She wasn't sure how he knew she was here, but that suspicion wasn't enough for her to turn down his offer to enroll her in the academy.  She figured it would hurt to really start learning how to fight while she figured out what exactly was going on with her watch.
