Running now, with Kara by his side, Barry felt a rush of adrenaline that he hadn't felt in a long time. Over two years, to be exact. He hadn't felt this way - like he was limitless - like he could do anything - in a very long time. It was good, it was a feeling that he missed, feeling free, truly happy. With everything going on with Zoom, and Jay being Zoom. A man he trusted, betraying him once again. It was almost like Thawne, in a way, except, he wasn't as attached this time around. With Wells, no, Thawne, he was betrayed by a man he called his hero, but, Jay wasn't like that.

Reminding himself that he shouldn't be worrying about betrayal at the moment, Barry continued to run, focusing his mind only on the speed force. The tachyon enhancer caused the familiar, "speed rush," as he'd been calling it to multiple times a hundred. He focus was on the way the speed force buzzed through him with energy, making him feel truly at peace, at home. When Kara threw him, Barry felt like he was flying.

Was this how Kara felt when she was up in the air, soaring, while people mistook her for a bird or a plane?

He soared through the air for a few moments - which felt like an eternity to him - and for a moment, he thought that it would work, that he would get to go home. Home to Joe, Iris, Cisco, and Caitlin. Home, where he could finally defeat Zoom. Home, where he could put an end to the terror in Central City, once and for all.

Time passed, and Barry still hadn't seen the familiar blue sheen of a dimensional portal. Did they do something wrong? What happened? Why wasn't he back at STAR Labs with everyone else?

After two minutes, Barry landed on the hard ground with a thump. He groaned softly and massaged his arm, which had taken most of the impact when he landed. "Kara," he started, his eyes moving over to where she last was, to see if she was still there, "I don't think it worked."
