There is no one description for the Treili Andin; they come in various shapes and sizes, each with their own physical capabilities because of it. Some are fast, some are strong, some are smart, and some are magical. However, though there are many contradicting stories regarding the appearance, not one disagrees with the comparison between these beings and forestry. Indeed, their skin and internals give them the appearance of being a literal being of wood - With all the terrifying abilities it brings. Most are twisted to depict some type of form, whether humanoid or more animal. Many have been seen with faces depicted out of the wood, but the lack of movement or apparent use of it begs the question of why this is.

Origin: Far, far from Hudol.

Distinguishing Characteristics: The Treili Andin are believed to be as sentient and as intelligent as any common humanoid in Hudol. Though they commonly fail to use it in war, consistently rushing their targets in disorganized mobs, those exposed commonly note an odd practice of 'twitching' to their kind - With no other explanation, it is believed to be some kind of language which they have created for each other. Additionally, due to the requirements in order to construct their shrines and battlements, they have shown a comprehension of logistics and architecture. Finally, even if heretical the beings do clearly practice an organized religion; rituals and ceremonies are consistent throughout the many clans, and the demons are able to be gathered should the whim of their leader order it. Though the use of their intelligence is simplistic, it is still there.

However, there is a second, if uncommon, theory: With their fiercely religious nature, it is possible that their behaviour is the cause of the creation of their own gods. As they come from another world, some believe it is possible that this unknown plane could house its own deities with their own powers. Out of this, the theory is that the Wood Demons are the religious representatives of one of these beings. The idea is, again, uncommon.

The Treili Andin are fiercely religious, and live only to satiate some zealous hunger to please their dark gods - Runes and emblems are carved into bleeding bark, structures (grand or small) of bodies and wood are used to mark any and all victories, and not a day goes by without an attempt to take an outsider for use in one of their bloody rituals. Indeed, it can be terrifying; they rarely show any sign of fear or hesitation, and there is no mercy for anyone outside their species. The closest one can get is for their nation to be conquered, like Hragsfrot, so the population will be kept as captives. This means the citizens will be killed slowly and gradually, wittling down a stockpile of offerings, rather than quickly.

General Information: The wooden appearance is not only visual; their skin and internals are very much as hard as wood, with no specific spot to kill them immediately. One's only hope is a chopping weapon, creating large gashes and removing limbs - One will know if they are deep enough, as a black 'sap' will seep from the wound. Very similar to blood, they will die when enough of this substance has left the body. However, it is the only way to end them.

Combat tactics are largely lacking, though they very often use ambushes in the Orester forests. Otherwise, their strategy is to rush their foe and overpower them with brute force. Admittedly, their durability and physical capabilities are enough that further strategy is often unnecessary. Though combat with them is horrifying enough, their ambushes are something much worse; in tight spaces, with an inability to distinguish from the army of trees to the actual combatants until the last moment, horror stories are aplenty from the forest patrol.

How the tree-folk reproduce is entirely unknown, but their numbers seem to never dwindle despite the constant skirmishes. Thankfully, they do not grow, but they do not fall either - Though one can only give rough estimates, there is nothing to dispute the claim that their population is consistently stable.
