unbreakable - due to the hand dealt to merlot from day one of her life, she’s extensively acquainted with trialsome living. she’s had a lion’s share worth of tribulation to mold the clay pot of her personality, all adversity now met with apathetic stoicism. with proper determination, she can be an unstoppable force.
independant - merlot wasn’t familiarized with the concept of snuggly familial affairs, all curled up on the couch with cups of cocoa on a sunday evening and the like. she isn’t very comfortable with mother or father figures, as they are entirely foreign to her. the twenty-four year old is completely adapted to getting things done on her own, though it stresses her when it becomes overwhelming as she feels there’s no one to fall back on for support.
adaptable - it’s fairly difficult for the woman to get comfortable in her present living. she’s always disposed to the possibility of a drastic paradigm shift, perpetually ready to bend accordingly. it’s in her nature to hunt for the lifestyle of the unstable and adventurous.
audacious - considering her energetic nature, badwinds is comfortably accustomed to the idea of getting out and doing things. truthfully, staying put too long gets her nerves a bit frayed. she adores going outside and seeking the next moment that will stick to her core forever.

merlot was birthed and instantly discarded to the river upon the sight of her alabaster skin. had it not been for the vigilance of a fishing tourist acting immediately to rescue her, she would have drowned. after being revived and cared for thereafter in a hospital, she recovered steadily until being surrendered into an orphanage, having no one to claim her. from the beginning, she was harrassed and scorned by the merina people of madagascar, who believed albinism to be the symbol for a walking curse. she was believed to have been bleached of all humanity, only a ghost in a realm she did not belong in. it became a sport from tribes on the outskirts of the town to attempt hunting her for good luck to return in their lives.
at the age of thirteen, a year before she would have been ejected into society to care for herself by law of the orphanage, a wealthy american couple took a keen interest in the girl, going through the adoption process with eager eyes on the future. the nameless teen had become accustomed to the nickname given to her by the people, ‘isishawa’ meaning cursed. however, her adoptive parents decided to be the first to give her a proper name, having her go by the title of merlot jones.
despite their sincere efforts, merlot warped into a person of loose conduct, dangerous activity, and rather defensive nature. she didn’t understand why she felt so strongly about everyone and everything that happened to her, and life became nearly excruciating. transitioning in america took years, and through it all, merlot still struggled heavily with creating healthy attachments to her foster family. she made an attempt on her life the week after her eighteenth birthday, this being the final straw in her downward spiral.
