Name: Yannes Ali Angula / Age: Twenty-Nine (29)
Rate: Seaman, SN (E-3) / Rating: Hospital Corpsman (HM, FMF)
97adb87fd9a3a5a3ad46fb8e2d1ebfee.jpg
At a glance he looks like any other Marine (Most being surprised he's not) either very well kept or completely shit-caked, though his weapons and medical equipment remain in good working order where possible.

A black male stood maybe a head taller than most at 6'2", weighing in solid at around 190 pounds. His hair is shaven down like a Marine, cut in a high and tight along with a moustached face.

Weapon of Choice:
An M16A1 and an M1911A1.

Personality:
A career sailor considered a bit intense by most. Absolutely done, like he just about hates everyone he's ever come into contact with, yet remains dedicated to the job. He runs the gauntlet to keep his Marines alive, and would gladly chew out anybody regardless of rank to keep them breathing, yet never fails to be a stick in the mud even when shooting the shit. In reality he's just salty about a demotion, egotistical bootenants are never good for anybody. It's a bad omen when doc's cracking jokes.

Bio:
Born in Namibia, raised in Hawaii. Yannes grew up as the oldest of four in Oahu and having spent a mere five years in Windhoek, Yannes never managed to build a connect to the place like his parents. Instead the United States was his home. And despite its shortcomings and racial tension, he always promised he'd do anything for it and in mid '57 made good on his word. Enlisting in the Marine Corps, seeing action in Lebanon before leaving service in '60. He took the time to get together with an old friend from school and settled down with her. He eventually re-enlisted in '63, though chose a different path and became a Corpsman. He was a good sailor with experience and people took note. Angula tried out for recon early on and made the cut to find himself deploying to Thailand with an element of 1st Force Reconnaissance Company in late '64 and served in Vietnam with it doing LRRPs and DRPs from '65 to '67 when he took an overdue rotation back home only to return to the suck mere weeks later.

Service:
USMC - 1958-1960 -- 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment - 1958-1960
USN - 1963-Present -- 1st Force Reconnaissance Company - 1964-1967.
Purple Heart (2), Air Medal, Navy Commendation Medal.

Extras:
Almost faced execution by firing squad for assaulting a commissioned officer, however, a no-nonsense godsend of a mustang First Lieutenant stepped in to "inform" the young day-away-from-getting-fragged Second Lieutenant of his incompetence. So instead of getting filled with holes Petty Officer Angula received a reduction in pay-grade and spent twelve days in confinement, and an unofficial pat on the back for looking out for the safety of his Marines.

Born in 1939. Back home in Oahu, Yannes is the married father of two - Eugene and Yuna. His wife, Grace, recently commissioned as an officer in the Marine Corps.

Because Shushi has a theme. I put here one, yes.

Name: James Bearanger

Role: RTO (Radio-Telephone Operator)

DOB / Age: 11/11/1946 (21)

Rank: Corporal (Cpl.)

Appearance:
Bearanger is an average Texan, standing at 5' 9" (175 cm), and weighs 165 lbs (75 kg). His hair and facial details are kept orderly to fit the Corp's regulation. He is indistinguishable from the others in uniform, while remaining distinctive by his green uniform that he tends to keep clean.

Weapon of choice / Equipment:
latest

Springfield Armory M14 (7.62 x 51mm NATO)
PRC-10 Radio Backpack
M1 Mitchell (Vine Leaf) Covered Helmet
Water Canteen
C-Rations (stacked in his GI Socks to reduce noise)
M1950 General-Utilities Gloves
EX-54 Load-Bearing Suspenders and 7.62 x 51mm Pouches
Raincoat / Parka
Auxiliary RTO Gears (map, compass, etc.)

Personality:
Bearanger is a young patriot, whose sense of duty drives him. Although inexperienced as compared to his peers in combat, he is skilled with a radio and a notebook - an inseparable pair that keeps him calm under fire. The pressure of being the messenger of life and death only furthers his focus and dedication to the squad. He is generally cheerful and optimistic, but like many others, will be susceptible to duress and tends to display extreme emotions.

Bio:
Bearanger comes from a lineage of American patriots that fought in every single American war. His initial reluctance was expedited by his hometown’s draft, and before long, he had found himself shipped out for Da Nang. Bearanger spent two years as a radio operator and took it upon himself to learn the local language on several occasions alongside the ARVNs. As thus, he is able to interpret Vietnamese on-the-go as a radio operator. The young marine have only been in the field for as long as his unit have been, and rarely seen any actions. This would all change in the red flames of one of the toughest period in Vietnam history, when he would be embedded within a recon unit.

Role: Designated Marksman

Height: 5’8” (170 cm)

Weight: 160 (75 kg)

DOB: April 4th, 1942 (26)

Appearance: Lean in build, George stands at an average height and has a lax aura. His uniform is standard with none distinguishable but is usually roughened up and dirty.

Weapon Choice/Equipment:
M21 Rifle
Standard Issued Gear

Personality:
A straightforward and nonchalant man. He isn't a patriot but nor is he an anti-war hippie, but merely sees a war as a means to get out of the United States and explore. He's reliable in combat and gets the job done, but is a useless drunk when given the opportunity at booze which resulted in his demotions.

Backstory:
Born in Serbia but immigrated to the United States, George had a rough upbringing as he supported his family through their starting over. Upon turning 18, George had no thought of college as he enlisted into the Marine Corps as a means of escaping. He quickly volunteered for Recon as he wanted to be challenged and be the best of the best but soon fell into a loop of alcoholism.

Rank:

Appearance:
Shellshocked-soldier-006.jpg

Weapon of choice: M16 Rifle.

Personality:
Elliot is quite attached to his unit, and as such, the young man tend look out for his comrades. Regarding the war, Elliot isn't a big supporter, however, nor will he argue against the war. To him, it was a job to be done and get over with, a job he can demonstrate extreme dedication and focus in accomplishing, while watching his fellows' back and make sure they make it out at the end of the day as well.
Bio:
A young man from the Midwest. Elliot was a chef who came into the Marines after losing his job at a restaurant in downtown Chicago. Here, he was determined to find a new purpose, but that came in short supply after only a few weeks in a land far from home. Rank:
Staff Sergeant

Appearance:

6'2 and 185 lbs. with an athletic muscular build, His uniform is standard and he rolls his sleeves above his elbows like a T shirt. He wears hand wraps in order to increase his grip.

Weapon of choice:
M16A1
M1911A1
3 M18 smoke grenades
Ka-Bar knife

Personality:
Drew is a stoic individual, never showing much emotion in some situations. However his calm top layer masks a bad temperament and short fuse. His sense of humor is a dark one, sparing no one from offensive and insensitive jokes. He isn't a chauvinist like some other troops deployed, but still considers that he's patriotic. People ask him why he joined the marines and force recon. He had multiple answers, but the one that rings true the most is that he simply wants the enemy to die.

Bio:
Originating from a town outside Philadelphia, Drew wasn't overly special. No outstanding academic success, not a star athlete except for rowing, which wasn't an extremely popular sport. He went through school with average grades. He even managed to get a few small college offers before he enlisted in the marines. He excelled in training, years of hunting had sharpened his shooting skills. He almost went for sniper scout training, but decided to go for force recon, he showed exemplary performance in the training in the recon training battalion. Before he knew it he had made staff sergeant by 24 and put in charge of a squad in Quang Tri.

Weapon of choice:
M16 Assault Rifle
M1911 Handgun
Ka-Bar Combat Knife

Personality:
Whenever, whatever, however, Jim is always the ray of sunshine in the group. Someone has to lighten the mood, so it might as well be him. He has a very dry, often dark sense of humor, trying to see the bright side of every situation. This is all a cover however, as he is absolutely terrified. Ever since he got here, he's been a afraid, snd seen more than a few of his fellow soldiers get killed in the most horrifying ways possible, so he has to crack jokes to keep from going crazy.
Bio:
Born and raised in North Carolina, Jim's family runs an small farm in a poorer county of the state. They were quite poor themselves, though they made due with what they had. Despite his father's...less than stellar view on the other races of man, Jim grew up around many different kinds of people, and so learned firsthand that tolerance was not only right, but practical. He didn't go to school, instead learning to read whenever he wasn't helping his family. He had a pentient for hunting wiyh his father, and was always good at tracking. When the war broke out, he dodged the draft for a few months, before he was eventually drafted, as his family couldn't get him out of it.
Extras:
He has a thick Southern accent, as well as a thick Southern dialect.
