Fact & Fiction Like hands, idle minds are the devil's plaything. In a small, sleepy town, there is often nothing more for the local youth to do than invent ghost stories. As with many small towns in America, there have been plenty of big foot sightings, "loch ness monsters", and all sorts of other monsters from abroad. There are a few that are specific to Farpost as well, making up the local set of myths that children pass down between one another. Naturally, the heroes of our story have taken these to heart and plan to test them all during their summer explorations.

The Lady of Erye Manor - At the edge of the small town's oldest neighborhoods, a crumbling mansion sits upon a winding hill. The will to the location is still held by distant relatives who have fallen out of touch with the town, leaving the home in disrepair and the land virtually unusable by Farpost. In standard fashion, the children treat this decrepit mansion as a playground, spreading stories of a phantom that still roams the halls, waiting for her dead husband to rturn.

Farpost Joy Committee - There remain a series of unsolved kidnappings from the 70's, a dark mark on Farpost's history. Though it remains unconfirmed, many adults believe that a group that formed then, the "Farpost Joy Committee" are responsible for the disappearances. The adults spread this legend to their children, unaware of the danger caused by spreading rumors.

The Lonely Halls - Around the time of the disappearances in the 70's, a student's body was found dead in a classroom at Farpost's high school. Police and forensics investigators have ruled it a suicide, but no note was ever recovered. As time passed and the pain lessened, the girl became a legend, a ghost rumored to wander the halls of the school every night from 11 to 12.

The Hidden City - Through bouts of paranoia and poor perception, the rumor has sprung up that the mirrors around Farpost hold some sort of alternate dimension. Supposedly, it is quite a bit like our own, but different enough to notice. No one can quite trace the legend to its source, but it is universally agreed to be ridiculous. It just so happens that people will still talk about it when the heat waves strike and the reflections begin to lose themselves to the glare. Still, one never knows, right?

Life & Death Perhaps the most interesting phenomenon surrounding the physical realization of faith is the ability to consciously interact with it. Creatures and objects created from the power in Farpost have physical form, though they maintain it almost infinitely unless their very nature is changed. Thus, it takes far more than a gun to halt the threat of pure rage and regret.

Luckily, just about anyone can use their own emotions, memories, and faith to have an effect. Through a focused attempt to forge the three components into physical form, a special power can be obtained. At the current time, little else is known about the actual application of what the few experts are calling "smokeforms".
