Backstory:
Skylar grew up in the country side of Fiore and lived in a small village with her mother, Sarah Fay. Skylar's mom was a guildless Animal Soul wizard and helped protect the village from bandits. Skylar learned the basics of transformation from her mother, but never learned how to fight. Skylar lived a peaceful life as a child. She enjoyed watching the forest animals, pretending that she was an animal, and playing in the woods with her mom. All of that changed once she reached the age of 13, when a group of Dark Wizards ransacked the village as they made their way toward the capital.
Skylar's mom tried her best to fight the Dark Wizards off, but she wasn't prepared to deal with them. Knowing that she was outmatched, she told Skylar to run and was prepared to die if that's what it took to protect her daughter. Skylar did what her mother told her and hoped that she would catch up with her later. Though that dream was quickly dashed when she head a sickening thud. Skylar glanced back and saw her mother bleeding out due to an icicle impaled in her chest. She faintly heard her mother order her to keep running and don't stop until she reached one of the Legal Guilds. With tears in her eyes, Skylar continued to run until she was close to the Sabertooth Guildhall.
"What's the matter sweetie?" she heard an older voice say. Skylar looked up and saw a young woman with cat ears and a tail, but what registered first in Skylar's mind was the Sabertooth logo on the woman's neck. Skylar told her about the Dark Wizards. The Sabertooth mage then informed her guildmaster and stayed behind at the guildhall with Skylar while the others mobilized. Skylar learned Valerie's name and she helped calm her down. Skylar quickly became attached to the Feline Soul wizard and decided to join Sabertooth. Shortly after the Dark Wizards were defeated, Skylar lead Valerie to her home. They retrieved some of Skylar's clothes and a picture of her mother. They also buried Skylar's mom and had an informal funeral. After returning to Sabertooth, Skylar began bunking with Valerie and that's where she's been living for the past couple months.
Personality:
Skylar is a sensitive soul. She easily tears up and is especially sensitive to conversations about death. She fully realizes what it means to die after seeing her mother death and hates witnessing life slip away. She's shy and quiet. It takes her awhile to get used new people, but even around friends she acts nervous and shy, often pressing her index fingers together. She also tends to stutter when she talks, especially when she wants to talk about something and doesn't want to interrupt someone when she thinks they're busy. Skylar also struggles with doubt. She's quick to second guess her actions and gives praise directed at her to someone else. Despite being shy, Skylar is extremely polite. She uses the "san" honorific when addressing people that are older than her; the only exception being Valerie Neko, who she calls "Neesan" (big sister). Despite her struggles with self-doubt she's extremely willing to help out her comrades. She also wants to get stronger as a wizard so she can better help her comrades stay safe and keep innocents alive.

Along with that, the user gains the abilities of the animal that they transform into, such as enhanced combat abilities or the ability to fly or swim.
