Siti Paths

The Siti are mortals who seek to emulate the power of the Gods by following the teachings of the first Siti, Virran Tallon, a mortal who was a learned scholar during the reign of the Dragon Kings.  The first Siti believed that mortal spirits were capable of reaching godhood with sufficient meditation and training, but she also understood that a god had responsibilities that limited what they could do with their power.  The Siti Paths were designed to allow mortals to tap their godly potential without having to worry about the responsibilities of being a god.  This did not mean that the Siti were undisciplined, it just meant that the Siti were free to ignore the demands of the Celestial Hierarchy, at least until the gods got tired of their actions and hunted them down.


The Siti did not like the Exalted, whom they saw as undisciplined mortals who had been promoted beyond their capabilities, and predicted that they and their Empire would fall.  The Exalted, in turn, did not like the Siti and banned the practice of their Paths, fearing, rightly so, what would happen if other mortals were given the power of the gods.  The Siti fled the Exalted and created a kingdom beneath the surface of Creation, far to the North, where they knew that the Exalted would not go, for fear of the things that lurked in the darkness.


There are five Siti Paths: the Path of Valor, the Path of Temperance, the Path of Conviction, the Path of Compassion and the Path of Balance.  The Paths of Valor, Temperance, Convicition and Compassion require the Siti to meditate on the nature of the Virtue related to the Path and to attune their natural Essence to the Virtue related to the Path.  The Path of Balance requires the Siti to meditate on the nature of Balance and to attune their natural Essence to the principle of Balance.  The price of being Siti is high, only UnExalted Mortals may learn the Siti Paths and, as soon as the mortal learns the first level in a Siti Path, they may never become a God, Elemental, Demon, Ghost or Exalt.


The first level of the Path of Valor allows the Siti to create, learn and use any Valor Spirit Charms if they fulfill the minimum Virtue and Essence requirements and know whatever required prerequsites.  It also allows the Siti to create Combos with any other Charm learn through the use of a Siti Path.  Each additional level increases effective Valor and Essence for the purposes of creating, learning, resisting or using Valor Charms by one and reduces the Essence cost of Valor Charms by one.  The Path of Valor may never exceed permanent Valor.  


The first level of the Path of Temperance allows the Siti to create, learn and use any Temperance Spirit Charms if they fulfill the minimum Virtue and Essence requirements and know whatever required prerequsites.  It also allows the Siti to create Combos with any other Charm learn through the use of a Siti Path.  Each additional level increases effective Temperance and Essence for the purposes of creating, learning, resisting or using Temperance Charms by one and reduces the Essence cost of Temperance Charms by one.  The Path of Temperance may never exceed permanent Temperance.  


The first level of the Path of Conviction allows the Siti to create, learn and use any Conviction Spirit Charms if they fulfill the minimum Virtue and Essence requirements and know whatever required prerequsites.  It also allows the Siti to create Combos with any other Charm learn through the use of a Siti Path.  Each additional level increases effective Conviction and Essence for the purposes of creating, learning, resisting or using Conviction Charms by one and reduces the Essence cost of Conviction Charms by one.  The Path of Conviction may never exceed permanent Conviction.  


The first level of the Path of Compassion allows the Siti to create, learn and use any Compassion Spirit Charms if they fulfill the minimum Virtue and Essence requirements and know whatever required prerequsites.  It also allows the Siti to create Combos with any other Charm learn through the use of a Siti Path.  Each additional level increases effective Compassion and Essence for the purposes of creating, learning, resisting or using Compassion Charms by one and reduces the Essence cost of Compassion Charms by one.  The Path of Compassion may never exceed permanent Compassion.  


The first level of the Path of Balance allows the Siti to create, learn and use Terrestrial and Celestial Martial Arts Charms and Styles if they have the minimum Martial Arts and Essence requirements.  It also allows them to create Combos with any other Charm learned through the use of a Siti Path.  Each additional level increases effective Martial Arts and Essence for the purposes of creating, learning, resisting and using Terrestrial and Celestial Martial Arts Styles and Charms by one and reduces the Essence cost of Terrestrial and Celestial Charms by one.  To learn the Path of Balance, a Siti must have one level in each of the Paths of Valor, Temperance, Conviction and Compassion.
