A few things to consider before jumping into character creation…


♢ Have variety. Each sub-class is a spot, with the exception of the secret ones (“?”). Each time a CS is approved, we will lock the chosen spot.♢


♢ First come, first served. Do not bother to reserve the character. If there is one thing I learned from past attempts, is that to not let anyone hog a spot that might not even be explored anytime soon. It is not fair for someone who makes a CS and actually roleplays. ♢


♢ No excuses. A CS with a To Be Revealed or anything among those lines will not be accepted. Don’t be lazy unless you have a very good reason for it, which you’ll have to contact me beforehand. The exception for this are NPCs. ♢


♢ No needless drama. Mary-Sues are not welcomed. Same to TRAGIC BACKSTORY maneuvers. Sure, life is not perfect, we all have our down moments. But relying on weak victimization that won’t get your character any sympathy. Keep it realistic yet interesting for us to watch it be incorporated in your character. ♢


♢ Give some contribution to the story. Your character can’t just react to everything around him/her and expect everyone else to have them integrated into the narrative. No. Do something. Speak, approach another character, you can even use a typical strategy to have your shy / reserved character be forced into interacting with someone, just don’t expect people to notice you. However, if you feel as if you are being purposely ignored for some reason, don’t hesitate to tell us in private, we will immediately help you on that. ♢

  Elliot is rather carefree, most of the time. He's a simple minded kid who often gets way too excited about things, and his curiosity and apparent lack of common sense provide him with a very childish vibe, but it only makes it easier for people to approach and befriend him.
  
  
  Being optimistic and cheerful, Elliot likes to point out the bright side of most situations, even if obvious. A born blabbermouth, loves to brag and talk about what he likes, and will rarely shut up if not told to, but overall he's a very nice person, and a great friend to have by your side.
  
  
  Biography
  
  
  Elliot never had much trouble growing up. His life was always pretty normal, living in the big city with his parents.
  
  
  Ever since he was little, Elliot loved ninjas. He saw them on his morning cartoons for the first time and found it amazing. In grade school, he and his friends would play with action figures, or make-belief, and, if possible, Elliot always picked a ninja, and for a while, it proved to be no trouble, but his parents couldn't hide their concerns as their boy got older but never got tired of ninjas. He was mocked in middle school, and still is in high school, but it never really bothered him. He believes he is free to like whatever he wants.
  
  
  When he found out about Shogun, 6 months after the game came out, he was beyond excited, and started playing as soon as he could. Despite liking them so much, Elliot never really did pay mind to historical accuracy and realism when it came to depicting ninjas in movies, games or shows. He was happy as long as they looked cool, and, needless to say, the game pleased him to no end.

Avia is mild-mannered and a hard person to offend, waving off insults and jokes in an equally offhanded manner, as long as it is directed at her only, of course. Quick to banter with people she has been acquainted with before or anyone she is comfortable around, she is the sort of woman that is easy-going, good to work alongside and open up to as long as she is not being her typical lazy and unmotivated self, which usually rubs some people the wrong way - her employer included.


She is serious when she has an objective to work towards and will do whatever it takes to complete it. She works best when sufficiently motivated and/or under pressure. If not, she is pretty lax and uninitiative until her boss gives her an order or her position as an employee is under threat.


Biography:


Avia is the youngest child in the family, born to an ordinary police officer who now works as a mall's security guard and a chauffeur mother. For the first sixteen years of her life, her family - parents especially - never bothered her as her older sister and brother grew up all right without much guidance, so they thought she would be the same. They were mostly absent from home, coming back in the evenings to either a cooked or bought dinner and catching up with each other then, before Avia would excuse herself, returning to her room to watch her shows and immerse herself into her PC games. Life was repetitive, bland and mundane as can be, occasionally broken by rare days off or overseas holidays.


Avia was not at all opposed to this lax lifestyle. She was left alone to do whatever she wanted, which was playing games. However, when her school grades failed to allow her entry into the last year of high school, she dropped out, receiving a lecture from her parents and siblings and forced to look for a job. She changed jobs a total of four times before she acquired enough money to move out from her family home to a studio apartment. When 'Shogun' first came out, she subscribed immediately, the sucker for historical fantasy MMOs that she is. She got hooked right off and has been ditching work and skipping sleep just to get more time to play during the last seven months.

In-Game Nick: Ryūji_Keikain

Personality (In game):


Ryūji always has a smile on his face and seemingly indifferent to everything that is happening around him. In actual fact, it is him suppressing his visible emotions to make him more difficult to read in combat or to be detected when moving towards the enemy. He is courteous and polite, although his tone has a general mocking lilt to it, greeting friend and foe alike the same way, who rarely loses his calm, even when surprised or angered. But he can seem to be creepy, distant and calculating due to his constantly smiling nature and refusal to talk more than necessary, when absolutely necessary in the presence of strangers. He is extremely devoted to his Family/Onmyouji Clan and friends yet he is by no means blindly obedient, and often voices his opinions out loud. He is a sly trickster who doesn't hesitate to use underhanded tactics during his fights. In fact, he calls himself the "number one liar" and always tricks his opponents into doing exactly what he wants them to do.

Ryuji's Personal Shikigami

Current Shikigami that he uses frequently are:

• Kyōgen - A Shikigami made of deadly poison which appears as a husk in Ryūji's likeness. If the affected doesn't take an antidote within a minute, they will die.
  
• Garō (aka. Gengen) - A Shikigami which primarily appears as a monstrous black wolf. He gives it single-word orders, such as "run" or "devour" so as to prevent enemies from figuring out his tactics. Gengen is a water-based Shikigami which forces the fluids in a target's body to rage violently or drown them.
  
• Gyōgen - A Shikigami composed of a large number of "konjousui flowers" mixed with Ryūji's spiritual energy. The flowers are composed of a corrosive water that burns anything it touches. With his current spiritual energy reserve, he can hold it for up to five minutes.
  
• Tanrō - A White wolf that is used as more of a transport than a combat Shikigami due to its large size, great speed and mobility. It can rip, tear Youkai apart with teeth and claws or simply bowl them over with its bulk but otherwise has no other special abilities.
  
• Hagun – This is the Keikain Clan's Ultimate Shikigami. It summons the previous Heads of the Keikain Clan, boosting the summoner’s powers in correspondence to the ancestors’ combined spiritual power. Because it is a mass Shikigami, it is difficult to control and seeps the summoner’s own energy to maintain it.
  

Lower-tier Shikigami

These Shikigami are beginner to intermediate-advanced, with the first being the lowest-tier. But remember, power and tier levels don't mean much unless you know how to use their individual abilities effectively and to their full potential. (More will be added when I find the time.)

• Ameonna – A rainmaker Shikigami that takes the form of a pale translucent woman clad in traditional kimono and long, loose hair, who acts as a support to power-up other water-based Shikigami or the summoner’s water-based attack. The rain she summons is limited to her range of view and can sense life forces of Youkai, Oni and human alike when the raindrops touch them.
  

• Rentei – A Koi that is the size of an average human’s head. It fires bullets of water from its mouth at the rate of one bullet per second, or as many bullets in a group for however many seconds it holds the water in for (Example: if it refrains from firing for ten seconds, the first shot would be a group of ten water bullets. The Onmyouji can command it to morph into two, thus speeding up rate of fire but halves the power of each bullet.
  

• Rokushin – A Shika deer Shikigami that slices through Youkai with its sharp antlers, and can be used as a transport as well, although it is not as fast as Tanrō, it can jump a lot higher and is more agile.
  

• Furusawa – Eight full suits of Samurai armour equipped with Naginata, they are all empty, the armour inhabited and controlled by the spirits of the warriors within.
  

Higher-tier Shikigami

These Shikigami are intermediate-advanced to Superior, with the first being the lowest-tier in the bunch. But remember, power and tier levels don't mean much unless you know how to use their individual abilities effectively and to their full potential. (More will be added when I find the time.)

• Kyoumon – An Earth-based Shikigami that takes the form of an elephant that stomps Youkai underfoot, can raise stone walls for protection and launch boulders as projectiles.
  

• Enenra – A Shikigami that takes the form of a large cloud of ash that can tear through and surround groups of Youkai, entering them should they inhale it or open their mouths and shredding their bodies from the inside out.
  

• Moramaru – It takes the appearance of a black, misty Cyclops with muscular build held together by ofuda (talisman) and can become chains composed of mantra to immobilise and strangle Youkai.

  Personality: A young man who strives for leadership, without much in the way of actual talent in it though. He relies on being bold and brave to get through day to day life. Being bold and quick to charge into his problems has only worked for him because he is extremely intelligent. This has given him excellent strategy and success in life, in the short term. Since he only plans his next assault, his next singular move he thinks of himself as a failure with no long term plan, or goals. In truth living in the moment is a strength and everyone his age is unsure of the future, but like most of us he thinks his problems are unique and special.
  
  
  You could say he is goal oriented, and focused. That would be true when something comes to him that needs goal oriented and focused, he is on a larger scale reactive. His intelligence has lead him to being fairly charming, though it leaves a bad taste in his mouth as he struggles with the difference between being social and manipulative. leading him to come off as extremely rude or extremely kind depending on where his mind lies at the moment.

  David was born a navy brat to a father that quickly became absent. His father blames that action on his own father being gone and him not knowing how to be a dad. Raised by a single mom and two sisters, he learned to socialize more with girls then boys. Never learning much about tools or cars, or even football. He quickly felt like the odd man out in school. In high school when girls became a difficult matter, he found himself feeling very alone and confused. Then he skipped three years of high school and started staying home to take care of his sick mother. Leaving those problems behind.
  
  
  Eventually he realized he had to do something with his life and became an army medic. He served honorably, his naturally intelligence making him a good medic. As well as the new start helping him to learn to socialize normally and make friends more naturally with all those around him. He did fairly well until being hit by a car while running, made him have to get surgery. It was on recovery for that surgery that he dived deeply into an MMO while on his free time.
