Invarion:

Great-fantasy-city.jpg

Description:

Invarion in known as the religious center of the world. Holy figures of all kinds gather here to erect a church dedicated to their gods and spread there biblical beliefs. It is one of the wealthiest, oldest and most well-guarded cities in Eucla. If there ever were a safe place in this world it would be Invarion.

The buildings here tend to be constructed from stone. Homes and churches are tightly packed into residential districts which are pushed closer to the center of Invarion while shops and the Great Bazaar are close to the outskirts of the city in true "exit through the gift shop" fashion.

Noteworthy Places:

-Church of the Higher Light: In a cliff face surrounding Invarion is a large church dedicated to the Goddess of Light; Amalthia. The religion of the Higher Light is one of the most universally accepted religions and can be found having an influence in everything. In this church is the resting place of her Holiness the Lady Amalthia and an academy. This is where The Travelers will be starting their journey

-The Great Bazaar: In the center of Invarion is a conveniently placed market. It's full of smithies, merchant stalls, breweries etc. If one were to prepare for an adventure, this would be the place to do it.

Ras Dothore:

atomhawk-design-11161708-10153282918697238-5846606836591403579-o.jpg

Description:

Ras Dothore is a city of study located on a large island surrounded by a lake. It is possibly one of the oldest cities in Eucla and yet one of the newest looking. This may be because of the Dragonborn who reside here are very...concerned with looks. Most of the locals are scholars and look down upon the less intelligent and unclean. The Dragonborn in this area also worship Ras Dugar, an ancient water dragon who supposedly created the city during the beginning and was a being of purity.

The architecture of Ras Dothore mostly consists of tall metal and stone/marble structures. Housing district are tightly packed, cuasing the walkways to become more alley like. The university district is a lot more open. Parks and greenery litter the streets of the U-District, helping to create a feeling of serenity for the stressed out students.

Noteworthy Places:

-The Grand Study Hall of Dugar: This is were most of the residents will spend their free time. The study hall is the largest building on the island, and is very ornately designed. On the inside are many libraries and secret study rooms. There's even rumor of a secret library with ancient maps to ancient treasures.

-The Eos Well: Ras Dothore has a natural Eos spring in the center of the city. The Eos is used for Golem crafting and helping students to channel their magic.

-Museum of Unnatural History: A famous museum can be found towards the edge of the city. With in it are several exhibits on the history of magic.

Population: Ras Dothore is mostly composed of Dragonborn, a humanoid dragon race. For the most part they are peaceful, but red Dragonborn are notorious for their temper and strength, so be careful around them. The red Dragonborn will usually be stationed as guards and soldiers but occasionally there will be a scholarly red.

Sylnelune:

Description:

Sylnelune is a somewhat new city created by a clan of High Elves in the forest, and although run by prestigious group of incredibly old beings, they appear to be very open minded to having people of all walks of life live in their city. That is of course, as long as they have money. It's a fairly simple architecturally and real estate wise. A few markets scattered here and there, blacksmiths and a brewery or two, plenty of marketable land and the people seem nice and welcoming. You know, just a city. But behind that chipper exterior is a dark secret. In the underbelly of the city proper is a slum ring for black market trade and other illegal activities.

During early development, one of the political heads of Synelune was able to take advantage of early house pricings and was able to capitalize of of the fairly affordable property value by purchasing most of the real estate in the city. He then jacked up the prices of this property, creating an environment in which only the upper-crust could survive. Because of this, the poor had no where to go, so the slums were constructed literally underneath the city as a way of keeping the poor off the streets. Out of sight, out of mind was their philosophy, but sadly things weren't that easy. Eventually many shady and illegal dealings began to take root in the slums, causing those above ground to feel uncomfortable with their living situation. And on top of that, because of the economical structure of Synelune, many things were thrown out of balance.

In an attempt to keep things in balance, Synelune's political Hierarchy made a deal with the thieves guild that had been newly established in the slums. They promised the decrepit city hidden underneath Synelune could have it's own autonomy (to a certain extent) as long as they remained hidden from the public eye and... did a few favors for the leaders that wouldn't be quite inside the law. Agreeing to this, the Thieves Guild and political leaders were able to restore balance to Synelune. The city we see today is the product of this corporation, and most don't even know it,

Noteworthy Places:

-The Silken Pillow: The Silken Pillow is a place... where you can buy lady favors... and manly favors...It's a brothel. A very classy brothel.

-The Slums: Most outsiders are unaware of the slums as the leaders of Sylnelue are not proud of their black market problem. The slums are a place for thieves, assassins and other criminals to congregate.

Population:

Mostly elves reside in Sylnelue but a variety of other species can also be found living and visiting here as it is a rather nice city... or at least it seems nice. You also get a variety of shady figures coming to town on occasion because of black market trading, but rarely will they be seen outside of the slums.

Meadshire:

View attachment 131018

Description:

Meadshire is a small fishing village on an island just north of the coast of the main lands. The Island is mostly uninhabited (with Meadshire of course being the exception) but does have some wildlife living in the surrounding jungle. There are also rumors of an abandoned temple hidden somewhere on the island, which supposedly harbors some particularly nasty monsters, but it has yet to be discovered.

This simple fishing village is composed of equally simple buildings. Tending to be constructed from stone and wood, homes here are more function than they are form.

Noteworthy Places:

-Meadshire Harbor: Most of Meadshire is pretty average town. There isn't much to do or see here but the Harbor is an interesting part of town. The hustle and bustle might be entertaining to some and if you're trying to catch up on the local gossip this would be the place to do it.

-Meadshire Wilderness: Most of the Meadshire island is surrounded by thick jungle. If you're in the mood for monster slaying and laid back adventure you might find yourself here. All though there are rumors of much stranger monsters appearing in the jungle and terrorizing any adventurers. It seems mystery is afoot!

Population:

Meadshire does not have a specific population demographic. Although it's a small town, the population is very diverse.

Norbur:

View attachment 131022

Description:

Norbur is frequently called the forge city. One of the older establishments in Eucla, Norbur was built into the side of a mountainous island. The entrance of The Forge City leads directly into the inside of the mountain range and then deep inside the earth's mantle. At the bottom of the main settlement is a large lava river which has a large forge set on top of it. Surrounding that area is the mithril mines.

Homes and buildings here are entirely constructed from stone and tend to be built in the upper half of the mountain to provide more comfort. Those who live closer to the top of the mountain tend to be wealthier, and live in an area called the 'Snow Cap District'. The lower you go, the more stores and service buildings you'll run into until eventually reaching the Grand Forge and Norbur Mines.

Noteworthy Places:

-Grand Forge: The grand forge is the large lava based forge found at the bottom of the main area in Norbur. Master blacksmith and craftsmen dream of the days they are allowed into the forge, hoping to hone their craft in a way that is both unique and mystifying.

-Norbur Mines: Surrounding the Grand forge is a series of mines in which most of the residents work. The Norbur mines are used to mine mithril and other precious ores.

-House Grayhammer: This is the first of the three houses that run Norbur. House Grayhammer is the family which is in charge of the mines. They are strict and have high expectations. If one would want access to the mines, these would be the people to talk too.

-House Embermail: This is the second of the three houses that run Norbur. House Embermail is the family which is in charge of the forges. They're are a jolly group of people who enjoy the prospect of outsiders and welcome all to use their forges. Although they posses one of the largest and most extravagant homes, they have an open door policy and welcome most people into their stead.

-House Jadetoe: This is the third of the three houses that run Norbur. House Jadetoe is the family which deals with any arcane matters. They are quiet and honorable. Often putting other's lives before their own, they are the most respected by the people of Norbur. And although they are very kindly they don't take well to the impolite. Their house is one of the most heavily secured (not by people but by magic) and unless one has an appointment, they will find it very hard to get in.

-Snow cap District: This is the area in which the more wealthy Dwarves live. Guards are constantly on patrol to make sure no outsiders make their way into this area.

-The Alley Cat: It's a renown whorehouse.

Population:

The population of Norbur is about 95% dwarven. Dwarfs are a rowdy, greedy, drunken lot who have a very particular culture. Most dwarfs are not very welcoming to strangers and because of this, one will find very few non-dwarven people.

Cragstorm:

View attachment 131025

Description:

Cragstorm is a city built around a dessert oasis. Used as a safe haven for travelers, the city proper is full of many a rugged adventurer. Most the residents are those who have braved the desert and not had the courage to cross it again. Cragstorm is also considered a godless city because of the lack of organized religion. This may have something to do with the fact that people of faith that cross the desert usually lose all faith they had in the gods assuming they survive.

The buildings in Cragstorm are made from sandstone and marble. Although not large by any means, the city has indeed recently gone under some development which has lead to some expansion, more specifically adding more housing units in the north.

Noteworthy Places:

-Center Oasis: In the center of town exists a large green dessert oasis. There is pure water which is connected to an underground spring, beautiful greenery and swaying fruit trees.

-Gladiatorial Ring: Cragstorm has a unique justice system. Whenever two or more people have a dispute they brawl it out in the Gladiatorial Ring and the victor is the winner of said dispute. It's also a great entertainment system for those citizens of Cragstorm.

Population:

Cragstorm's population mostly consists of adventurers and ex-adventurers who have crossed the desert and are not brave enough to cross it again. Their isn't much money to go around, so a good portion of residents are living in shacks and huts as "temporary" settlements.

Drybay:

View attachment 131027

Description:

On an island off the coast of the Uncanny Expanse is a large harbor city. Mostly relying on trade exports for their goods, Drybay is a bustling market city. The market places here are full of fresh fish, rare items found at the bottom of the ocean and a variety of valuable commodities. Despite being such a large city, most of the people here rely on fishing and salvaging as their main source of income. You see, for whatever reason, the amount of sea life around Dryaby is absurdly vast, making them one of the main exporters of fish and other aquatic consumables. Because of this, Dryaby is an economical powerhouse and the leader of this city actually owns most fishing companies in Eucla, purely because he's made enough money to monopolize of the trade.

Drybay is like most cities. A housing district scattered here and there, market places sprinkled about and pubs on every street corner. The buildings are usually constructed of stone and brick, leaving most of the city looking rather ocher save for the various colored shop banners.

Noteworthy Places:

-Fishing Harbor: Like Meadshire, Dryharbor has a large harbor which is constantly bustling with activity. If one were interested in the cities gossip this is the place to eavesdrop. Ships frequently come and go, depositing large nets of fish and crab while others contain valuable artifacts from salvage runs.

-Fawny's Arcane Goods and Services: 'Fawny's Arcane Goods and Services' is a large shop located in Dryaby that has quickly gained a fantastic reputation amongst the locals. The store itself is run and owned by a young entrepreneur by the name of Shaun Fawny who, as the name implies, provides a variety of goods and services relating to the arcane. The store is one of the most brightly colored buildings in Drybay, so it's hard to miss.

Population:

The population of Drybay is incredibly diverse. People from all walks of life are drawn here because of the booming economy.

Wavehammer:

View attachment 131026

Description:

A land forged by war, Wavehammer's people are notoriously both pugnacious and passionate, often to a fault. During the early days of the Divergence Wavehammer was originally a military outpost which used its coastal seating to it's advantage in the many battles that took place on this spot. Because of this much of the architecture has been destroyed and rebuilt, again and again, leaving a strange variety of structures scattered about Wavehammer.

No longer at war, and not really in the proper conditions for large commercial farming, Wavehammer has outsourced most of their man power into creating the Hunter's Guild. A group of heroes for hire who can be payed to hunt, harvest and hinder any sort of monster, beast or creature that threatens your livelihood.
