Appearance: Seth is just above average height at an even six-feet tall. He has an average build, although he is a bit slim, despite nearly endless visits to the gym; he has nothing more to show for his work than slightly defined abs. Luckily for him, his dimpled chin and rare, crooked smile make up for his lack of noticeable muscles. His lips have a vaguely pouty look to them and are a naturally soft pink color. His nose is narrow and straight, with a single light freckle on one side. He has round, light grey eyes, although that is rather up for debate as his eyes have a tendency to change colors; they can be a bright blue-grey one minute then change quite suddenly to being as deep and dark as the ocean, to even appearing almost black on occasion.
His light sandy-colored hair is trimmed fairly short in the back without any attempts made at styling the longer front part. If he's feeling a bit rebellious he might spike up the front a little, but he mostly just leaves it alone.
As for clothing style, even Seth hasn't a clue what he likes. One day it might be hoodies and tennis shoes, while the next it might be a beanie and button-up shirt. One consistent thing is that he usually wears several layers, due to the fact that he is always- literally always -freezing. Because of that, he loves gloves- usually fingerless -and hats. Of course, the hats also help to hide his unruly hair. Now, unlike most guys, he does enjoy dressing up on occasion. In fact he has a solitary suit in the back of his closet for just such an occasion. On the other hand, he has to be in the right mood for looking presentable, otherwise he will pull at the neck-tie the whole time he is wearing it. Surprisingly, he also has several leather jackets that he is partial to. In the winter months, he won't be seen without one of his precious jackets.
Personality: Seth is a royal pain in the ass. And the worst part is that he knows perfectly well just how aggravating and impossible he can be. While most sarcastic people tend to be that way by being blunt or thoughtless, everything Seth says seems to be pre-meditated amd sincere. Honestly it's hard to tell if that makes him more of a jerk or just immature. In a signature move all his own, he will greet everyone he meets with demeaning comments and a charming smile. Unfortunately for most people, it's hard to tell if he is being sarcastic or rude, which has led to many, many awkward moments. One doesn't have to know him for very long, however, before it's quite clear that he is just being rude. He is also far too sassy for his own good. It would be safe to say that snapping his fingers in a Z-formation and walking away with swinging hips is something that he is very likely to do. He is also an annoying little shit. He has no problem throwing around insults and rude comments like they're confetti and glitter. It's quite hard to tell if it's all just a ruse to keep people away, or if he truly enjoys being the most disliked person in the room. Given his strict 'if they don't ask, I won't tell,' policy, it's hard to get information out of him unless you ask very specific and pointed questions. Unfortunately, keeping him in one room for a long enough period of time is also a problem, as he tends to walk away as soon as he loses the advantage in any given situation.
One of his few virtues is that it isn't easy to make him truly angry. Although, the problem with that is that he is actually a far nicer person when he is angry. Having seen his father's explosive temper, he knows how dangerous he could be if he lets his temper get away from him, so when he feels angry he will make a huge effort to not show it. One would have to be either very optimistic or very ignorant to believe that Seth is actually a well-meaning person. It's hard to tell if those people would be right, or if he truly doesn't care about anyone or anything.
Now, to get to the heart of the matter; most of the things Seth says and does don't mean anything. He has no regard for his own well-being and it's easier to pretend that he feels the same about everyone else as well. The truth is that he tries to observe people before interacting with them. That way, he will only approach the people who are as crude and heartless as he is. Even he knows better than to kick the puppy that's already feeling down. In fact, he has been known- on the rarest of occasions -to help someone that looks really down in the dumps. Somehow, he manages to keep those 'moments of weakness' to himself in order to preserve his horrible reputation.
History: Arthur and Iris Larsa were two of the biggest troublemakers their town had ever seen. So it was no surprise to anyone when the Red String declared them to be soulmates. As well-matched as the pair were, they quickly became the bane of the town with their mischievous and more-often-than-not illegal ventures. But after a few happy years- happy for them anyway -they decided that it was time to add a baby to their trouble-making duo. So, along came Seth. Now, they weren't the sort of people to let a child get in the way of their exploits, so from a young age Seth was exposed to countless illegal and often rather crude habits. Despite being fully aware of the poor example they were setting for their son, they continued in their ways; even going so far as to hope that he turned out to be just like them. Unfortunately, Seth was far too relaxed and independent a boy to take on their influence so easily.
Being the opinionated people that they were, Arthur and Iris spared no effort to hide their dislike for their son's mellow behavior. His father lectured him endlessly about how awful normal people were and that only weak people try to fit in. Of course, reaching high-school was a massive shock for Seth when he was mocked for trying to stand out like his father wanted him to.
When his mother realized that he was friendless and bullied, she was determined to spare him the lonely childhood that she had had. Quite suddenly, she decided to give up her drinking and illegal habits, and instead devoted herself to living her ideal life through Seth. Playing matchmaker was her new favorite pastime and she began to put a lot more trust in anything to do with the Red String.
Arthur responded to his wife's opposing parenting technic by joining a gang, then encouraging Seth to follow his example. He forced Seth into participating in as many gang activities as he could, in an effort to win him over. With a massive, and very important heist coming up, Arthur put more pressure on him to join and help out. But finally, the constant pressure from both his parents was too much and Seth decided to move somewhere else on his own. Unbeknownst to Seth, his mother has been arrested and his father is on the run for the heist that he refused to join nearly a year ago.
