Seji's Radical Workout Spot

The smell of fresh air filled the sky as green trees rested all around them. It was a rare sight being in an area not far from Koseki, so ripe with nature seemingly untouched. Trees surrounded the clearing with a small though relatively deep lake sitting in the center. To the south and west the smog could be seen clinging to the skies, and to less extent the other directions from it. It was like an oasis in an otherwise gloomy industrial area.

Seji was in... less then stellar condition given his last training session having ended in the destruction of the old warehouse he had claimed as his own. so long as he kept on 'her' good side they should have no problem training there, not to mention it would likely be quite helpful to help his Genin adjust given where they would be taking part in the Chuunin exams at. It didn't hurt to let them train in an environment at least to some extent similar to where they were going. He just had to be careful not to anger the owner, someone quite familiar to everyone but Jin in the group.  He had all three of his Genin before him, having lead them over through a back way out to this small section of forest.

"Alright my lil catapillars, the Chuunin exams will be upon yah's soon enough and yer' teach is going to help yah get in ya' cocoon stage and be full fledged butterflies. Yer' going to be facin' some tough cookies there with more time do'in the Genin thing so you will need ta' prove yourselves by workin' even harder." He spoke as he stepped forward, walking out onto the water moving casually over before turning around to face them. Truthfully he hadn't the slightest clue what to do for training, wanting to find some unique and hopefully even better way of training until he had tossed the idea together earlier on.

"I want ya's tah get stand'in on the water here. Simple 'bough right? Just let the chakra flow through yer' feet and keep a nice balance so ya' don't fall through." He spoke with a light grin looking upon them. He would put them to the test,  improving them all with general training so they can deal with the Chuunin exams better, and learn to maximize the things they specialize in.

Kiso

Kiso looked upward it was so strange to be free of their usually depressing village, However, this place reminded her of her near death experience.  She closed her eyes soaking up the warm rays of the sun so they were about to become chunin how exciting she thought. With this step, she'll be closer to her dream of becoming a pillar of her village if not a renown ninja, and with that in mind put her village back on the map. She soon snapped out of it looking at Seiji this man had more sly games to play yet, calling them caterpillars. So what she thought to step out on the water it was a meer academy trick what was this suppose to teach them, she lightly nash her shark teeth. However, she still held respect for her sensei after all that blunder that nearly cost her life had almost or could've taken away her career to if Seiji had wanted.Kiso attire had changed recently she had to stop wearing her fleece having taken to wearing, a gray shirt with a triangle like portion in the front with slits a belt slipped through it and her around her midsection it held her gear packet that was latch over her lower back her twin tanto's were above the pack . She had also dyed her usually blond hair to a snow white color and had also allowed her hair to grow a little longer than when she was in the academy. A red bandana clung around her neck, along with a pair of red stilted sandals.

She looked at her teammates from the Jin these two were equal in height, though Kiso didn't consider her much more than one more filler mate before she either quit or was killed by Mochi actions. Then at Mochi what she saw was a rival that was waiting to be bested. With that in mind to picture of seeing a Mochi, a shattered wreck brought a sick tingle of delight to the girl scornful heart, though grinning internally she kept a placid expression outward at Mochi. Turning away from her comrades let her gaze fall on her teacher she wonders what he'll be up to now, nothing was simple or easy with this man she didn't expect this to be any different. As she felt it was her duty she would move forward into the water, as far as rolled existed Kiso was the vanguard the other two were supports in her book though thinking that they all had roles they could only fill. She respected this much so she wasn't silly enough to label the two useless in the least the could keep the foe either at a distance to which Kiso was weak too.  "Guess I'll be going ahead try to keep you two ". Her footwear began to flow as she stood atop the water, though she allowed her high sensory ability flow through the water to prepare for any traps lurking in the deep. As she looked at her teacher with a serious and suspicious tone," Sensei what is this suppose to teach us, this is academy level stuff, shouldn't we be training ...fight or something....somewhere else I couldn't go all out here..because that lady owns this place". She glances over her own shoulder as if expecting a certain older woman to appear at just the hint of her name.

Mochizuki Tonbo

Mochizuki sat humming in one of the fruit trees as they started the training, happily munching on an apple. She kinda wondered what new thing they were going to do today. She certainly loved the new training field, eagerly picking up another apple, but she wondered why they didn't go to the warehouse?

Seji announced they'd be doing some water walking, and Mochizuki got excited, jumping down to see how it was done. Her excitement was temporarily stunned by Kiso's halfhearted response before walking on the water without a problem. It was even worse when Kiso called it an academy trick.

"Wow! Friend Kiso, did you learn that in the academy? Man, I never did."

Mochizuki sighed, a bit jealous. Thinking about it, she didn't see Kiso as much as she'd like. How strong was Kiso anyways? She could do things like water walking like it was an academy level! Granted, considering the classroom aspect, even if it had been, Mochizuki likely wouldn't have noticed.

Still, if that was the level Kiso was at, Mochizuki couldn't fall behind. She closed her eyes, pages appearing before them as she tapped her lips.

" "Chakra fundamentals, pg 310, Waterwalking Jutsu: This jutsu is a more advanced version of Tree Climbing Jutsu, whereas Tree Climbing Jutsu is achieved by using the feet as anchor across a solid surface, WaterWalking is achieved by using a varied anchor, responding to the water beneath it as one moves, spreading out the chakra emitted from the feet with the waves."

Cool!"

Mochizuki tapped her lips once more as tried to visualize how to do it. Chakra control was a strong point of hers, that was promising. She slowly walked to the stream, taking the first step into it, her feet only sinking slightly as she moved.

"I'm doing it, I'm doing i- " -splash-

Under the water, Mochizuki looked up at Kiso from beneath the water. It described her fairly well as well. Hastily Mochizuki made her way to the surface, jumping to the shore.

She turned to Jin.

"Uh... Did you learn how to do this in the academy? I kinda never did..."

She walked and talk, making it many more steps in the lake, visualizing every step along the way, still her feet went a few inches down with every shaky step.

"I gots this! It's a chakra control exercise! Even if we can waterwalk, if you make us do stuff while doing it, it'll catch us up suuuper fast on precise control with lotsa task, right? So everyone can practice somethin' or other? AmmI right, ammI right?"

Jin Kusarigama

Jin was standing a little further from the two, hands at her back. She left her puppet back home, and now was standing alone, standing still and quiet. She gave Kiso a small smile when she looked at her, then looked at her teacher. She noticed his grin but, from what she saw since they met, she shrugged it off as normal. She turned to look at Kiso, putting one hand on her hip. Jin frowned a little at Kiso's comment, but her attention went to Mochi.

She smiled as she approached Mochi, hearing her recite whole pages worth of information. Watching her walking on water, and Kiso for that matter, made her realize one thing : it was her turn. Remembering what Mochi said, she concentrated. 'Alright Jin. It's just like chakra threads. Concentrate on your feet.' She taught, exhaling sharply. "What was that darling? Oh. No, actually, I hadn't learned this at all at the academy." She said, smiling awkwardly, putting one foot on the water.

Jin almost fell over, the water being very different from the ground she walked. It was like walking in an earthquake. She put the other foot forward, again unbalancing herself. "No, no, no." Jin said, before standing up, and slowly walking, with care, towards the other two girls. "Yes Mochi, I think you are right. Sensei Seji wants to teach us control. It might be useful for my chakra threads." After saying that, she stopped, Jin's control a little better now, standing still, smiling again and brushing her own hair once, looking at her teacher.

He kept his eyes fixaed on the young genin from behind his shades. he has suspected they would find various degrees of difficulty in the practice. It wasn't something normally done after all. His own first time trying to walk on water had ended in... a less then stellar show. He had easily been the worst at trying to get it down taking some time to Master it. Since they were heading the Hidden Wave, there was a high likelihood there would be a good deal of water they would have to traverse over. It made the most sense to start off honing their control using such a talent. It would also serve to help in his idea of 'training'.

"Good job lil Kiso!" He spoke giving her a thumbs up. He was a bit surprised she was already familiar with such a thing, though he had known someone in his own group who had been very fast picking it up themselves almost instantly mastering it.  He reached up, pressing against the bridge on his sunglasses to fix them up. He watched Mochi as she seemed to have trouble, taking a few steps as her excitement perked up only to fall through into the water. She watched Mochi's resilience speaking briefly with Jin before continuously try shaking a bit and a little unstable as she walked upon the water.

"There ya' go! Just keep a clear mind and focus and ya' can move like it's nuu'in! You got it good there Jin, can be a bit rough bu'chya get a hold on it after a lil bit!" He spoke nodding his head watching the various skill levels of the students in managing to walk upon the water. He had confidence that they would be able to handle it without too much difficulty... or at least not take a few days like he had to get it down. He stared at Mochizuki as she seemed to  pick up on what he was doing as Jin was quick to agree with her.

"Very good my lil birdies! Ya' got a good part of what yo teach is up to. The exams be takin' place in the Wave, it might also get yas' some practice as well learn'in to do stuff on it as well. First though, let's make sure ya go dis' water walkin' down all the way. My broski, if ya' would kick it up a notch!" He spoke with a grin, lifting his hand up parrallel to the groun expecting Emp to give him a high five.

A notable groan escaped vocally in Seji's head as the Daemon was far from pleased with such a cringe worthy nick name and the attempt to get a high five. Emp was half tempted to smack Seji across the back of the head instead... something he refrained from doing... for now. As tempting as it was, he knew better then to disrupt such training. It was something in the earlier days he was never above doing while their whole 'partnership' was becoming a thing. A large red hand lifted out from behind Seji's shoulder, raising up into the air. Seji stood with his arms crossed as the large chakra arm suddenly went straight down with a great deal of force. It struck the water, causing a large impact upon the lake. A decent sized waved rippled from the impact, easily reaching a foot in height as it pushed out followed by smaller ripples towards the Genin.

Seji stood on the water, his feet keeping adjusted to the flow of the water as the water rushed towards the Genin, attempting to test their ability to adapt and maintain their footing upon the water as its flow suddenly changed. under their feet.

Kiso

Kiso watched her comrades with an annoy glance, just over her shoulder she saw them stumbling toward her she felt confident in her abilities up to this point. Pitful she thought it wasn't even that difficult she reason, though it she wouldn't admit it she had learned this skill after her near-death experience nearly a year ago. Kiso thought back had she been able to use this skill than could it have saved her from the anguish of the hospital bed. The loss of her family, her home, her legacy...staring at the waves as the began to move at the approach of the two other she had thought about it. She snapped a hateful glare at Mochi before looking away back at Seiji, though it was true Mochi cost her a lot in the same sense the girl had started a seething flame inside of her. That seem to keep growing with every spiteful thought about the free spirited girl, as though it made any sense for her to be consider anything but a plague to the village. This hate, however, kept Kiso ambition burning to drive on and keep up her pace if not outdone by her rival, it was a sinister goal sure but it kept her running on all cylinders when she lost it all.

After her world came tumbling down it was somehow Mochi who kept the girl rolling off of her mattress at the monastery, and training long hours to keep her skill strong perhaps she had developed an anxiety to befriending other because of Mochi. Was that right to blame her Kiso didn't care it was her fault, either way, it didn't matter in the least, looking up as Seiji perhaps one day she'll thank her but not this day she mentally replies. That when the wave of water was created she suddenly felt a chill running down her spine that day came rushing back, the bandits dark game of target practice. The drowning sensation bubble up in her chest, she began to hyperventilation glaring at the wave coming toward her.  Not now she thought not now if I freeze up now I won't be able to take the exam, there was a moment where the chakra around her feet vanished. However with that, it ironically saves her as she went plunging into the water below, but at the same time, her distress began a new as her the water swirled around her. She began to thrash wildly for a moment as she began to panic below, the swirling bubbles her escaping upward as she saw the sky above her.

Her world began to spin none the less, she swore to herself she was a dolt her action were causing her to be a nuisance. With all the time she had she still had a fear of bodies of water , just being swallowed up by it. Under the waves, her body was paralyzed after her struggling stopped she had begun to focus on holding onto what air she had left. What could be done she watch those above her frustration began to build now how could she have been done in ,by this stupid waves how embarrassing her own mother voice rung in her head "useless" . That was it she began once more struggling upward with sub-par pace she wouldn't make it at this rate but atleast she could struggle to the end she thought .

Jin Kusarigama

Jin's chakra went out when the wave hit. A quick gasp escaped her lips, after falling in the water. A few bubles later, she rose up, spitting out water, brushing her hair. She slapped the water, looking at her teacher. "You runied my hair, sensei!" She looked at her teacher, frowning and almost using a genjutsu on him, but, she realized something. Looking around her, she widdened her eyes. "Where's Kiso?" Another gasp escaped her mouth, before gasping for air, and getting underwater. A few seconds later she opened her eyes, trying to get accustomed to everything she saw.

Jin pinpointed the slowly sinking Kiso. Swiming towards her, she managed to get closer and closer, but Kiso was sinking a bit faster, and the frantic thrashing made Jin stay away for a bit, before she used her chakra threads to envelop Kiso, like a sort-of mummy. It consumed a lot of chakra, and Jin struggled holding her still, before she managed to put a hand around Kiso's neck, looking at her. As soon as that happened, Jin started to go in the other direction, swiming towards the shore. She already started to show signs of tiredness setting in, as the chakra threads combined with the swiming was draining a lot of her stamina.

At the surface, Jin emarged with Kiso. The kunoichi put Kiso on the shore, turning her on her back, as Jin started to gasp and breath heavily. "C-Come on d-d-darling. Breath." She said, pushing her hands on her chest, trying to make her breath. Her head turned towards the lake, looking at Mochi. "Mochi! D-Deary, come here!" Jin had hopped that she was not too late.

Mochizuki Tonbo

Mochizuki kept trying to keep her balance as the waves started to come. She managed well enough, but it was taking all her effort to stay afloat. She kept losing precious inches as the waves came up. Kiso was probably having an easy time, and Jin was probably doing about as well as she was. Finally hearing splashes, Mochizuki looked up, to see Jin rescuing Kiso.

"Friend Kiso!?"

Without hesitation, Mochizuki ran towards the two on the shore, not even realizing she was moving across the water. Her previous practice with chakra control brought it out innately in her panic.

Mochi lept the last bit, landing by the two as Jin called her out. She talked nonstop to herself. She started by pushing Jin's hands away.

"Let's see, she's probably waterlogged, compression's ain't gunna do anything. I gots this, Jin. Come on Friend Kiso, wake up!"

Mochizuki tapped her lip thinking, recalling the proper treatment for a drowned victim. She moved Kiso's over to let out water. She then started on CPR proceedure. Sadly, compressions wouldn't do much good, as that was to help no pulse. Without second thought, she sealed her mouth over Kiso's, pinched her nose and blew two breaths. Social awkwardness was not a term Mochizuki knew. Also, Kiso probably wouldn't complain if it meant living.

Raising her head, she started a series of handsigns. She had one last backup if that didn't work.

"Come on, Kiso, this is just training! Don't make me pull out my surprise just yet."

She placed her palms over eachother, a glowing light forming between them. If Kiso wasn't up from the mouth to mouth, she would be from Mochizuki using her medical jutsu to force her lungs on.

(Because this wasn't awkward enough. Also first time Mochizuki shown she's training to be a med nin to her team)

Kiso

It felt as though the world had swallowed Kiso up, as she had black out during her time submerged. Though rescue in a timely manner by her comrades, though her own mental state she had fled inward, with this movement of her conscious state it was as though she was teleported to her own little world. There she laid in the middle of a field the swishing of grass all around her, as she sat up slowly holding her head. The scene was so strange as it was just simple grassland, with a few trees dotting the area. As she would close her eye resting her hand over her face with a groan, as she wonders how it comes to this she was sure she was done for. Those two dolts could barely stand on the water how could they have saved her own pathetic form now? The disturbance of grass and disturbance of soil cause her eyes to snap open, and there it stood it was her but not her. A carbon copy of her self-stood over her giving her one of the toothiest grins,"Back so soon?" it asked in a mocking manner. Kiso grunted as she sat up which cause her copy to step back,"It's not f..." She would mutter mutinously, though her copy stopped her resting a finger on her lips,"Sssshshh, her .it's alright it's alright we both know who fault it is ".  Kiso looked confused for a moment before, the clone pulled its finger away before leveling at her. Before Kiso could utter a defense the clone went on,"it's our fault for being weak, showing cowardice to bandits, remember you told the bandit about your team, now you blame all your faults on your comrades".

Her own anger getting the best of her as she screamed,"I'll kill you !". As the clone laughed at this empty threat,"Your doing a good job at killing us alright, ah look like our time is short now seem those you condemn actually came for you..". Kiso eyes would suddenly snap open as Mochi glowing palm did their jobs, willing her lungs with air, and exchanging it for water and a moment of cough spasms. Her hands shot out suddenly shoving Mochi away to any who was watching it seem random, but to Kiso, he was still in a daze of sorts. The exit from her own inner mind made her furious it wasn't her fault it just wasn't her fault it was all Mochi fault after the coughing had stopped Kiso would rub her mouth. Her eyes snapped between her two comrades for a brief moment, as she would get up with a grunt swaying a bit. She would soon be glaring at their teacher,"Is that all you got sensei ?!, don't treat me like some weakling !".She seem really riled up as she, though she shot a glance at her comrades as if attempting to imprint the comment to them to as she strides forward back on top the water. She was lying her lungs felt as if they only just worked, but she wasn't gonna let it show in front of her comrades and teacher. Silently she did thank Mochi , ibut she wouldn't say it allow as her eyes seem to be set on their teacher shoving her mental struggle to the rear of her mind for now. "I am going to bring fear to the foes of our village just with my name  sensei, so I need you not to hold back on me I can take it !".Her hand were trembling as she stared at her teacher the chunin exams were looming it was time to get the most out of this training before it got serious.

Seji had watched as his efforts in training had quickly hit a snag. Truthfully, he had expected some difficulty in adjusting. Often water waking was practiced on calm water, more turbulent conditions weren't something you would often face. It was something given the place they are going they might have to deal with. Who knew just what the tests might entail, it was plausible they might find themselves having to do battle in the ocean where calm water wasn't a thing. He had seen much to his surprise that the opposite order of what he expected happened. The one who had seemed to show the least difficult Kiso had all but stumbled falling in, shorter followed by Jin. It was only Mochi who seemed to be hanging in despite her earlier difficulties. He had little time to find amusement to it as it was apparent something was wrong with Kiso not seeing her form emerge from the water.

He stood back, prepared to jump in though witnessing as the other Genin stepped in quickly, first Jin taking the initative diving in to grab her. He watched quietly, keeping alert. He moved quickly keeping an eye on Mmochi who seemed to maintain herself running forward to Kiso's aid as Jin managed to get her to dry ground. He watched quietly allowing Mochi to work. He knew she had some training in medical Jutsu, wanting to give her a chance. He would much rather have her practice then get the scolding of his life from 'her' if he had to take Kiso to be treated. Still he wouldn't take any risks... if Mochi couldn't get Kiso to awaken soon he...

A sigh of relief escaped Seji's lips, not even attempting to keep on his 'cool guy' demeanor at all as Kiso sprang back to life. He watched Kiso speak up, letting out a soft sigh in response. "Ya' gotta pace yourself Kiso. The most important thing for a Shinobi to learn is not to win, but to understand defeat. There is no shame in failure so long as you learn from it. Even the best will stumble at times, there is nothing shameful about it. You got plenty of talent behind yah, just don't let get to your head too much." He spoke patting Kiso's head before looking to Jin and Mochi.

"Good work you two. Quick to spring into action when danger presented itself to your team member. I think we did enough action today. Let's relax a bit, settle down and chill. A vital part in training isn't just to act, but to help create a sense of calm in your own mind. Mental stuff, ya' know." He spoke with a light chuckle as he sat down upon the ground quite carefree.

Kiso
kiso wasn't sure how to feel at her teacher suddenly ending training, as she slowly began to shake what was this? She suddenly sunk to her knees, it had taken more out of her than she thought. She would sigh in annoyance resting her hand on the ground as she glared at the ground. Mentally she was beside herself with anger, as if being the one who needs rescuing wasn't bad enough she'd have a debt to Mochi. So be it...:arghhhh", her stomach would suddenly wrench opening up the floodgates, as her lunch came rushing up out her mouth. She would cough lightly as she rubbed her mouth, her face was crimson as naturally being embarrassed. "Sensei..if there was no shame in failure...why is our village like this now?...why do all the other villages look down on us..?". Her eyes still focus on the ground and the remain of her stomach discarded breakfast. Pushing off the ground,"If we're done here Sensei, I'd like to go back to the village...this place only reminds me of failure".She was crestfallen as she forced herself to her feet swaying lightly, she felt groggy.
She thanks, those two for saving her she thought, however something inside her snapped she didn't feel thankful it was an embarrassment, and shame at taking down by such an easy move Inwardly she would bare her fangs at her comrades. She berated herself for nearly drowning in something as stupid as water, however, what she did know was that she wanted to leave a.s.a.p. As she didn't feel any desire to bond with the other two, and relaxing chilling with her sensei. It hand bonding all over it which caused her to cringed, she figured it would be pointless to her she had embarrassed herself enough she figured she just needs her teacher to release her.
