Section A : Solitary & Medical

Never

Screaming Mute
Medical Bay is where all the injuries go and if you go further down the hall you can hear the screams from Solitary... Medical Bay is pretty small, they have a single room full of beds for top priority patients, anyone else gets sent to their cell. Some People Die. Solitary has multiple floors and is located underground. Namely underneath the Headquarters so Guards have easy access to Torture watch their prisoner.

Dr. Vanessa stepped through the medical bay, taking inventory of the various medicines and instruments. Supposedly, there'd be a new face working as the nurse arriving today, so Vanessa worked to make sure the medical bay appeared as presentable as possible. I'm glad I get to meet the newcomer first, Vanessa thought. Vince was a good doctor, and Vanessa would agree, but it would be better for appearances if the new nurse was greeted by an actual certified doctor.

Satisfied with the state of the room, Vanessa set the clipboard down and picked up a book, The Real Lucky Luciano. Showing off a book about mobsters was Vanessa's favorite way to show her interest in such subjects, which made the discovery that she used to be one all the more interesting. Sitting down on a chair and crossing her legs, Vanessa waited for the new blood to appear.

Vanessa glanced over the top of her book, looking at the clock. Time to distribute the medicine, she thought. I was hoping the new nurse would be here on time. "Cordelia," Vanessa said, getting the other nurse's attention, "start going through the files and write a list of all patients currently taking medication. I'll walk the new blood through the procedure here before seeing how competent she is."

(Captain Gensokyo's character is the new nurse.)

(ah okay ^^)

Yes, Ma'am.

*she says plainly as stands, walks towards the filing cabinet and starts going through the files, neatly and precisely writing down each patients medication needs* would you like me to do anything once the list is made?

"And it seems I'm late..." Annalee commented nonchalantly. "Why did it take so long for you to get to my cell in the first place?" She 'asked' Alex as the girl and her guardian's footsteps pattered on the tile floor of the Med Bay corridors.

The distinct sound of footsteps in the hall caught Vanessa's attention. Without hesitation, she stepped outside of the room. Two people approached the medical bay. The first was a child, who Vanessa assumed to be the prisoner. The second, however, revealed something sinister. The mute guard, Alex, led the child through the halls. Why would they have Alex leading the new blood, Vanessa thought. Either she's trouble, or the guards want to keep her safe. I don't know which is worse. Vanessa smiled warmly, her expression hiding her thoughts. "Hello," she said, addressing the new nurse. "I am Doctor Vanessa Lincoln, one of the doctors here. Now, you are a couple minutes late–" Vanessa shot the guard a neutral glance, knowing the matter was not to be pursued "–but it's nothing that should disrupt our schedule." She stood to the side of the door, gesturing for the duo to enter.

*Cordelia wasn't quite finished with her assigned task but so as not to be rude she stood and bowed to welcome the new nurse and her guest as they entered* Pleasure to meet you, I am Cordelia, one of the other nurses. I look forward to working with you.

Alex made their way to the Medical bay and saw Cordelia shifting through files, but soon bowed when the attention of the new arrivals was caught. Vanessa had basically re-entered the room with them when she nosied just a minute earlier to see us coming, her glare didn't go unnoticed. Alex didn't even realize he was late so that was what Annalee would read, whether she accepted it or not - did not matter with his position. He turned his attention to Vanessa giving her a sarcastic bow, with his arm outstretching to the side and everything. It was a simple gesture for her to take the prisoner around the medical bay, Alex would simply observe from now on.

He took a seat from next to one of the beds and dragged it to the entrance to the corridor, sitting beside it, his body slumping in it as he pulled out a magazine and a pen. Crossword, this will rattle his spores. If they needed him they were right there, however what made him curious was how the two would get along - Vanessa might get fed up of the mind reading. Hmm. He decided to eavesdrop as he filled in a crossword. @NemoTheSurvivor @Captain Gensokyo

"...Annalee," she greeted the doctor with only her first name and a curt nod as they all walked in together. "My escort here is unfortunately bad at time management," she said half-heartedly to explain her tardiness.

Cordelia wasn't quite finished with her assigned task but so as not to be rude she stood and bowed to welcome the new nurse and her guest as they entered* Pleasure to meet you, I am Cordelia, one of the other nurses. I look forward to working with you.

"Mmm...the same goes for you. I'm Annalee, if you didn't catch my greeting at the doorway," she said. "Hopefully, you don't act like complete scum like everyone else here...seems polite initially, at the very least," Annalee mentally observed. "Just need to look into you while we're going through all this...her too."

"Byee.." the psychic said privately to her bodyguard in a playfully taunting manner.

"Okay, Annalee," Vanessa said. "Cordelia has a list of inmates that are currently taking medication. Take the list from her and start preparing doses. If you have any questions, ask. I'll be watching you to see how well you know basic medicine, so consider this an open book test." Satisfied with the given instructions, Vanessa sat down next to the medicine cabinet, folding her hands in her lap and crossing her legs.

Oh sorry *Cordelia stumbles upon hearing the instructions to the newbie and she quickly turns back to her work to finish it before passing it to Annalee* It's all categorised so I hope it's readable enough for you....*she speaks politely and as sweet as she can in her shy but high voice*

Alex's eye twitched in response to his new 'friend' taunting him with a goodbye, he simply filled in another word on the puzzle and was content with himself; nothing interesting had happened so far and he felt like this crossword would be completely fairly quickly. Ugh it would get to him if he had nothing to do, the prison had been 'fun' lately, with all the scuffles he could be breaking up... if he had the opportunity he itched to spread his spores onto others. He looked around at all his potential victims, his smirk hidden by his mask and his eyes darting around from behind his magazine. He bet Vanessa had a juicy brain, all that medical knowledge, all that violent history and tortured patients. He relished the thought.

Sentenced to Solidary once again "Stoker" was sitting in the brightly lit cell, her eyes squeezed shut but her lips forming a grin of defiance.

While other prisoners were tortured by sitting in pitch black rooms with no yet so dim light the vampire had to endure several hours of being exposed to the brightest rays electric light could produce, the blinding shimmer almost reaching through her shut eyelids, the thin brim of hot red the only thing she could see as the vampire let out an annoyed growl.

Pitiful attempts at punishment. Sunlight would have at least had a lasting effect on her, but this? This was nothing more than them trying to display the power they had over her, the bright lights nothing more but an annoyance.

An unpleasant one, yes, but in the end she'd walk out of that heavy steel bolted door and just do whatever the hell she wanted, this little punishment not having any lasting effect other than ridding themselves of her snarky attitude for a while.

Her pale skin started to itch, almost reflecting the bright light as Tess pressed her slender frame against the cell's corner, instinctively trying to find shade, but instead just meeting cold stone, which somewhat helped her calm down.

Because how things currently stood she was starting to get annoyed a bit *too* much, whoever was to finally release her from solitary was bound to either face a lot of complaining or be unlucky and meet those wicked fangs of her head on.

"Damn, how much longer do you want to keep me in here? Just get that snake boy in here, he might like it, it's like a frigging terrarium in here." Tess spat, her pierced tongue licking over her dry lips as her eyes remained shut, her otherwise almond shaped pupils narrowed into predatory slits as she shifted her frame in the corner, extending those long legs ending in heavy black combat boots.

"I know you can hear me, you bastards. Look, I know I did something wrong and i'm not even sorry but you can't keep me in here forever, besides, I can babble on and on until you let me out, maybe we can shift this a bit around and I can torture YOU with my endless nagging." Tess chuckled, grinning widely as she brushed her fingers through her stubbly short hair on her left side.

*Cordelia leaves the medical room and down the stairs and corridor a bit to one of the solitary doors, knocks on the door* Apologies but could you keep it down a little, the doctor is trying to instruct the new staff.

Being a girl of few words, Annalee nodded in short agreement. "Of course, doctor," she said with a slight raise of her eyebrows and a stoic expression as she turned to find the mentioned assistant in front of her.

Oh sorry *Cordelia stumbles upon hearing the instructions to the newbie and she quickly turns back to her work to finish it before passing it to Annalee* It's all categorised so I hope it's readable enough for you....*she speaks politely and as sweet as she can in her shy but high voice*

"...That's good," Annalee said passively and absent-mindedly as she momentarily gave Cordelia eye contact.

All of this was just the prep-work. The first day would make something like this feel more fun and productive, but Annalee knew how temporary the feeling of newness would be. As the days went by, this part of the job in particular would become the monotonous but easy work to do in the wee hours of the morning. Preparing the doses would be easy, and if they ever asked her something beyond her knowledge, she could always just—well—"excavate."

Part of her wondered if she'd ever get close to any of the patients...in reality, she had no idea what she was getting into with this nursing, and that's exactly what the first day on the job is meant to explain.

@NemoTheSurvivor @AMystery @Swiper

Annalee swiped the list from the assistant and began looking it over. On this page was the name of patients in alphabetical order. There were a few columns to the right, with the biggest one showing a given patient's needed medicine and dosage, and others including information like height, weight, and blood type further down the line.

As she read this, she "reached over" to Dr. Vanessa and tapped into that ocean of information that one called the mind. "Location, location..." Annalee thought to her own self.

With a satisfied nod, the expressionless new nurse walked without guidance over to the location where medicine was stored and looked to the top items on the list. All the while, she started tapping into the assistant's memory—something starting with a C—and went from there, beginning with the patients' last names starting with the letter 'A.'

Vanessa watched as Annalee walked over to the medicine cabinet and started getting the medicine ready. Something about the new nurse's directness struck Vanessa as odd. The doctor looked between Annalee and Alex. Why are the guards so protective of her, Vanessa mused. Vanessa then realized what was off about Annalee's actions. She didn't ask where the medicine cabinet was; she didn't even look around the room before stepping right towards the medicine cabinet. In fact, she didn't even look for the medication. It was as if the nurse knew where everything was.

Suspicion grew in Vanessa's mind. "So," she asked, stepping next to Annalee, "you obviously aren't normal if you're in Fuchi. Why are you here?"

Annalee looked genuinely hurt after the good doctor asked the question. "...Do you really have to ask something personal like that? I'm just here to fill the job requirement..." she said with a sigh and an almost equal shyness to the assistant, feeling intimidated by the medical practitioner's tons of voice.

"Guard, can you help? She's being nosy..." She asked plainly.
