Roleplay Type(s)
Feel free to code your character sheets as long as you include a plaintext spoiler (just in case the code breaks or doesn't work on mobile). You can add whatever extras you'd like onto your CS as long as you have the required bits. All characters are either newly-promoted heroes or members of the hero agencies that help them (reminder: our main focus will be the new heroes, it's your responsibility to link your character to them if you make a non-hero character). Remember that there is currently a two main character limit, but you are allowed to make up side characters or NPCs for the sake of backstory and such. I'll be picking 3-6 people for the rp on June 4th (noon-ish PST), so make sure to get your CSs done before then!

P.S. ARC is pretty shady and good at skirting on the edge of the law, and one of the shitty things they do is basically groom kids with flashy (read: socially acceptable) powers to be crime-fighting celebrities, so you're allowed to make younger characters. However, this will carry impacts IC, so be prepared to deal with things like "the public just learned that this hero is in fact not 'just short', they're literally a teenager, and people obviously have problems with that", or realizing "holy shit, this is all really messed up and I've been indoctrinated into believing that this is fine", etc

P.P.S You don't have to go as in-depth with hero gear and stuff as I did, I just ramble a lot

P.P.S.S. Don't worry if your CS doesn't get a lil' heart react from me, I just did it to Tap and Flame cause they're my co-GMs and are therefore automatically accepted into the RP. The rest aren't getting reacts yet because the deadline hasn't hit.

Name: Peter Rilenhou
Hero/Sidekick/Informant Alias: Matchstick
Other Aliases/Nicknames: Pete, Petey (he hates this one), Pipsqueak (he also hates this one), Pip, Sparky (mostly by friends at school)
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Pronouns: He/Him
Occupation: Hero

Height: 5'4" (~160cm, ~costume adds 1-2 inches)
Physical Description: Peter has a somewhat thin build with some slim muscle from training. His skin is a golden-tan-ish color from countless hours working in the field and he has various tan-lines from where his costume blocks sunlight. He is rarely seen without his white (though, often more gray due to being smeared with ash), fireproof hand-wraps that cover his palms and reach back toward his elbows. When in civilian-wear, Peter usually wears long-sleeve t-shirts or hoodies to hide them. Sometimes he opts for fireproof fingerless gloves on days that are extremely hot. He prefers casual clothes when out of hero-costume. Peter has short, jet black hair (which is good for him because the color covers up their occasional burnt ends) that's usually somewhat messy from his work. His eyes are brown, and he has a chipped front tooth. A loose scattering of freckles dots his cheeks and runs down his arms and legs.
Hero Disguise:
The main piece consists of a tight-fitting but thin fabric (fireproof) body suit that covers his legs down to his ankles and is short-sleeved. It is diagonally marked with thick stripes of red, yellow, and orange, along with thin black stripes (an homage to Buzz's bee-themed suit). The top half has the logo of a lit-match atop a black hexagon at the chest. He wears thickly-soled, black and white shoes that add an inch or two to his height. He wears yellow eye contacts to help conceal his identity (ARC picked yellow because it matched Buzz's color scheme).
His costume also has various support items:
- Arm Wraps: Peter's fireproof arm wraps are on full display. They help both with his powers and somewhat protect his arms.
- Mask: It has a black frame (lightweight, metal-like but slow to heat up) that surrounds his jaw and top of nose and helps protect his face. A cherry red, only semi-transparent mesh covers the two spaces between. It contains a communicator (located on the ear, disk-shaped with a short wing-like antennae coming off the top) and can shut at the press of a button (a black material similar to the frame will cover the front of the mask, it has two filters used to prevent smoke inhalation). A red-tinted semi-transparent visor comes off of the top rim of the frame and cover his eyes.
- Extinguishers: Taking inspiration from a fictional hero, Peter's costume has wrist-mounted fire extinguishers. The tech team at ARC managed to figure out how to make them compact enough to store attach to his wrist without too much trouble. They're white (to blend in with the arm-wraps).
- Utility Harness: A flexible, black, x-shaped harness that crosses at his stomach. It's dotted in various pockets full of useful tools, such as marble-sized smoke bombs and fire crackers for distractions (all work by being set on fire, but he noticeably has nothing on his suit that would physically damage him if they accidentally went off). Originally also provided a safe handhold for Buzz when he needed a lift.
- Grappling Capsules: About the size of his hand. Similar to a grappling hook except it shoots a line out from both ends. Each end can stretch up to ten feet and latch onto most surfaces easily. Once latched, the capsule can draw in or spit out excess rope, making the tightness of the line adjustable. He uses them to aid vertical movement and trip opponents up. They tend to glitch from time to time, either by releasing surfaces or getting the internal pulleys jammed.
- Elbow/Shoulder/Kneepads: Exactly what they sound like. They aren't very fancy, the only thing that makes them even vaguely special is that they match the costume colors where they are (elbow/knee pads are orange/white, shoulder pads are black/white).
Faceclaim: E2FB6BFC-1DCB-48DD-AECB-83562BEFD9DE.jpeg

Powers:
- Fire Creation/Manipulation: Peter can create fire at any place on his body. He can also manipulate large amount of heat in the surrounding area (~30ft max, although it's weak at that distance). Unfortunately, this takes a lot of focus and control, resulting in numerous occasions where Peter has set himself (or various other people and items) on fire. They tend to flare up when he is feeling any intense emotion -especially when startled. Peter also isn't fireproof, or even vaguely fire-resistant.
Origin of Powers: Genetically inherited from a long line of elementally-gifted superhumans
Fighting Style: Peter employs hand-to-hand methods from his training and incorporates dirty tricks like throwing sand in people's eyes. This results in a gymnast-like fighting style that often relies on his surroundings to aid him (he does best in cramped fighting conditions). Of course, his powers also play a central role in his fighting skill, and are often used to create last-minute barriers, light opponent's clothing on fire to provide a temporary distraction while they put it out, as an intimidation tactic, ranged attacks, or to escape grappling holds.
Other Skills: Parkour (self-taught), Pissing people off (not self-taught, simply a natural talent)

Hero Agency: Hive (operates in Queens district, named after their bee-themed hero Buzz)
Why were they picked to be a hero?: He already had fighting experience, and -if he can keep them under control- his powers can be very media friendly. He also has a small fan following already due to his close association with Buzz, and they're planning on spinning his PR as "inspirational sidekick underdog honors his mentor by following in their footsteps"
Previous Occupation: Sidekick (technically it counted as an internship, but he was a sidekick in all but name)

Personality: Peter thinks well on his feet... in fact, he makes most of his decisions in a split-second. Though this is helpful when time is a short resource, his impulsivity can make him a liability (both to himself and others). He tends to take unnecessary risks and pull attention-seeking stunts. His confidence comes in handy when dealing with public relations, but can prove to be unearned in some situations.
Likes: Heroes, Spiderman comics, Flying (courtesy of Buzz), Marshmallows
Dislikes: Tying his arm-wraps too tight and not being able to adjust them until after his shift is over, The scent of fire extinguishing foam, (Ironically) burnt marshmallows

History: Peter's father was an elementally-gifted superhuman. This was something that Peter's mother was completely unaware of, and -by the time Peter was born- his father had been out of the picture for around eight months, leaving her to discover for herself that her baby set things on fire whenever he cried. She tried to take care of him, but she simply didn't have the resources to properly do so, and he was brought into ARC custody when he was four.
ARC childcare facilities provide the basic necessities (food, water, fire-proof clothing), but the number of kids coupled with the fact that they all have superpowers makes it so that the childcare workers don't pay much attention to each individual kid. Peter was bounced between facilities like these for most of his life (usually getting moved due to incidents at school). His only role models were the heroes he read about in comics (spiderman, though fictional, was one of his favorites) and watched on the news. However, even though his powers were promising, his behavior was deemed "too unpredictable and destructive" for him to be put in any training programs. Peter didn't let that stop him. With the small amount of fighting experience he had from getting into trouble with his peers, he took to the streets. Problem-child by day, vigilante justice by night.
It went surprisingly well... that is, until he got caught. By a hero, no less.
Buzz, upon meeting a the thirteen year-old vigilante, made a deal not to turn him in so long as the kid promised to only work with the agencies from then on (less chance of him getting hurt that way). The next day, Peter woke up to a recommendation to an internship at Hive from Buzz themself. He breezed through training and soon his sidekick career began.

Are you cool?: Cool beans

Name: Luca Graymin
Hero/Sidekick/Informant Alias: Nine Lives (usually just referred to as Nine)
Other Aliases/Nicknames: Gray, Jackass (by his twin sister), Lu (if you call him this, he will give you a glare fit to kill), Shittier Deadpool (by himself, usually accompanied by complaints about the hero identity ARC gave him)
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Pronouns: He/Him
Occupation: Hero

Height: 6'1" (~185 cm)
Physical Description: Gray is a tall, lanky man with skin that's so pale that one might assume that he's ill. The deep bags under his eyes don't help this. He has a large number of grey streaks peppered across his otherwise jet-black hair. A short and scraggly beard adorns his face with it's hairs similarly greyed. He has hazel green eyes and chapped lips that are almost always drawn into a scowl. He has small scars that are somehow paler than the rest of his skin scattered across his entire body.
Hero Disguise:
When the costume department requested Gray send them a picture of himself to help them develop concepts, his cat photobombed some of them. The costume department looked at this, decided he liked cats, and promptly themed his hero identity after them. He wears a brown leather-like jacket (though it can be noted that the actual material is significantly harder to stain than regular leather) with a furred neck (fake fur, of course. Even ARC doesn't want to deal with PETA). The back is marked with three tan lines (similar to a tabby cat) and a black number nine.
He doesn't have a lot of support items. The ones he does have are mostly weapons:
- Helmet: The shape is vaguely reminiscent of a motorcycle helmet, but if the visor took up a larger section of the face. It has a shiny, black faceplate that is completely opaque from the outside (he can still see from the inside, though it's black-tinted). It has a voice modulator built in, so -while it isn't muffled by the mask- it does sound different (a little deeper and with a slight static to it). A communicator sits on one ear and a device that helps keep outside noise from being muffled sits at the other (notably, both have stubby triangle shapes near them a little ways up the helmet. Gray has been told that these "ears" are there to incorporate the communicator's antennae into the costume. He is yet to receive an excuse as to why there's one on both sides). There are two ventilation slits on both sides (placed to look almost like whiskers).
- Motorcycle: What, you thought they'd give him a motorcycle helmet for no reason? (They would. They totally would, but in this case there is a reason.) ARC issued, not particularly fancy aside from the fact that the paintjob matches his costume and it's got a small number nine logo on the side toward the front. It's intended more to cart him from fight to fight than to actually help him out in them.
- Gloves: Black, made of a similar material to the jacket, and studded on the knuckles. Basically brass knuckles you don't have to hold. The studs are curved slightly downward in an almost claw-like shape. Circular, gray pads on the fingertips and palm can produce an electric shock similar to a taser.
- Dartgun: Stored in a holster that is mostly hidden beneath his jacket. Contain sedatives.
- Lighter: Stored in a jacket pocket. Used for sparkers.
- Sparkers: Similar to the ones Peter uses. About the size of a marble. When lit on fire, the covering will begin to burn off. Once it reaches the inside (at which point Gray has hopefully thrown them), they make a loud popping noise and burst into a large group of bright, disorienting of sparks that go out quickly (sort of like a flashbang, but more compact and usually less effective).
Faceclaim: 82886EB0-8F5D-45CA-8FC3-5EA0D7C27740.jpeg
(Courtesy of the amazing and skilled artist Tapfic Tapfic )

Powers:
- Durable: His bones are slightly stronger than average, his skin is oddly hard to breach, and he is quick to walk off blunt force trauma. He's just difficult to injure. This only goes so far as to prevent/limit damage from most (but not all) blunt force trauma or skin-breaching injuries, and does not affect most other forms of harm. He still has a regular human rate of healing and other normal physical limitations.
- Undying: It's name is slightly misleading. Gray can die (and he has done so many a time) but not permanently. When he dies, he comes back to life within twenty four hours with whatever caused his death completely healed. However, he continues to feel the pain/side effects that the wound would've given him for somewhere between a week and three months afterward depending on the severity of the wound/illness/etc. Any secondary ailments will remain and heal at a normal rate. His name is misleading, as he can (and has) died more than nine times without it becoming permanent.
Origin of Powers: An arcane accident
Fighting Style: He works best at hand to hand, since then he can use both of his support-item weapons. Gray is reasonably skilled at other distances because of the dartgun, but if there are allies in the way then he might end up tranquilizing one of them, so he usually doesn't engage from that distance when working with teammates. He has a disadvantage when fighting most superhumans since, even though he's durable, he's just a normal person in all other ways (except for the whole death thing, obviously).
Other Skills: Chemistry, Oddly good at befriending cats, Playing piano

Hero Agency: Ferris (operates in Brooklyn district, named after a magician -the "art of diversion" kind, not the arcane kind- themed hero )
Why were they picked to be a hero?: PR basically took one look at his powers and said "well he can't die, so there's no chance of media fiasco via hero death with him" (which is a large concern with the second picks). He already had training (though it's been a while since he left the program), and he has significant experience fighting. Besides, there's been little to no progress made in their research of him, and they're beginning to think that it's a useless endeavor.
Previous Occupation: Paid Research Subject

Personality: Though Gray protests this, his personality is similar to the stereotypical cat. Aloof, doesn't want to be touched, and seemingly always at least vaguely annoyed. He tries to hide it, but he's usually pretty jumpy. He prefers to meticulously plan things to split-second decision making. Gray's prickliness tends to push people away before they get to know him (whether this is intentional or not, no one's quite sure). He does have some redeeming qualities, though. Despite his grumblings, he's surprisingly compassionate and helpful.
Likes: Cats, Hugs (he refuses to admit this), Tea
Dislikes: His hero costume, Loud people, Press meetings
History: ARC has had their eyes on the Graymins for decades. They were one of the first superhuman bloodlines registered to their database, and carry a genetic gift for the arcane arts. A genetic gift that seemed to skip Luca. Though he was shoved into various ARC training programs from a young age, none of it ever seemed to awaken any magical powers, and he eventually was assumed to be a regular human. This was a severe disappointment to the family.
Luca went on to become a chemist (because if he wasn't going to be a proper alchemist, then he could at least pursue the scientific equivalent). With his combined knowledge of chemistry and alchemy, he began experimenting on himself in order to become a superhuman. As far as he was aware, these attempts all failed. This was proven wrong when he died at the age of twenty-four. The following day, he woke up in a morgue.
He quickly learned that having the secret to immortality (even if he wasn't exactly sure how it came about) painted a huge target on his back. Gray ended up dropping off the grid for a few years before eventually ending up in ARC custody for knowingly being a superhuman and remaining unregistered to the database (though he technically was registered, but as a possible carrier for the arcane gene rather than a superhuman). He got an offer from ARC to become a paid research subject with the added benefit of protection from groups that care far less about good working conditions for their research subjects.
Gray became a hero because ARC threatened to cut his funding.

Are you cool?: I am legumes at a low temperature

Name: Lan Clementine
Hero: Guardian Angel; shortens to just Angel if you’re in a rush
Age: 22
Gender: male
Pronouns: He/Him
Occupation: Hero

Height: 5’2
Physical Description: Small, but a good amount of muscle build ( if you ever manage to catch him wearing something that fits ). His hair is long, earth brown, and very soft- framing two large; golden eyes. He usually keeps his hair in a ponytail, bun or braid; but the bangs fall into his eyes anyways.
Hero Disguise: White, with gold accents and a shoulder length cape, cut in the shape of wings. A noticeable lack of anything protective, other than his boots, which are platforms, and steel-toed.
Faceclaim:
Lan but glasses.pngLan Hero Baby.png
Powers: Damage transpherrence; he can heal by taking wounds onto himself, and attack by transferring his own wounds to others. He can also briefly feel the target’s strong emotions while they are being healed; and vice versa.
Origin of Powers: developed on their own around when he turned 16; inherited.
Fighting Style: hand to hand combat, almost exclusively.
Other Skills: Cooking, cleaning, childcare (if you don't mind the kid learning curse words ), and other various adulting things besides acting like and adult.

Hero Agency: Caladrius , an agency for support types- like healers, and disaster relief.

Why were they picked to be a hero?: He was pressured into being a hero as soon as he discovered his powers; he simply refused to do so until his brother Kim, the hero “ Karma”- went missing.
Previous Occupation: Worked a lot of normal jobs; most recently worked at Starbucks, but got fired for cursing out a customer

Personality: Little ball of anger and rudeness, but surprisingly sweet. He will do nice things just because he likes to see people happy, but if you point it out he will curse at you.
He also really enjoys cleaning as a hobby.
Likes: Milk, feather dusters, hamsters, cats, cute aesthetic things, food that looks like cute animals.
Dislikes: So much, including- chocolate Milk, snobs, doctors, meat, most of his family, and people who are rude to low-wage workers.
History: His mom is the head of the hero agency “ Caladrius “, his Dad was once known as the hero “ Divine Knight “- a powerful man that could strike down enemies with his light, as well as heal the wounded. After his dad was killed in action, Lan’s mother shut herself off from the family. Not long after little Lan fell ill. Despite the testing and surgeries, doctors didn’t think he would make it; until his power manifested itself around the time he turned 16. Without meaning to, Lan transferred all the damage he had received over the years onto one of the nurses. The sudden trauma of transference killed them near instantaneously. Lan was told they received treatment and survived. He doubted the story of course, but he was just a kid; and accepting the lie was a lot easier than accepting the guilt. Nowadays he flinches if someone touches him while he’s hurt, and will outright refuse any medical care.
Lan originally didn’t want to be a hero, but was convinced after his brother went missing. He figures working as a hero would be the best way to find him.

Are you cool?: Cool as beans baby

Name: Nikias Sterling
Hero Alias: No Name, Null, Liminal
Other Aliases/Nicknames: that guy with the panda hoodie, Niki
Age: 18
Gender: male
Pronouns: he/Him
Occupation: Hero ?

Height: 6’4
Physical Description: Tall, with broad shoulders. His hair is naturally black, but he dyes it silver every now and again, causing it to grow out to dark roots. His lip and ears are pierced, and his irises are a brighter white than his cornea. He looks annoyed when he takes off his sun glasses, but it's only because they double as prescription glasses and he cant see shit without them, so he has to squint.
Hero Disguise: Just his normal clothes, a panda hoodie and pink crocs. For gear he has a taser.
Faceclaim:
Nikia Sterling.pngNiki.png
Powers: Supernaturally forgettable. You will forget having seen him as soon as you look away from him. The effect is lessened when he obscures his face; but he’ll still be hard to remember. He is able to make anyone forget anything they associate with his face even slightly, including places, names, and entire events (given that the event is tied to him in a way ). If he is photographed or recorded the effects will still be present. You can only remember him if you associate him with the version of himself wearing sunglasses (or obscuring his face in some other way)- or if you have a strong will power and consciously hold onto the memory, but not forgetting would be about as difficult as not scratching a very persistent itch.

Origin of Powers: No one has any idea. Maybe he was cursed or something?
Fighting Style: Basically strike and duck out of view. It doesn't matter if the target literally just got punched; they will forget what happened as soon as they stop looking at him- but so will any of his teammates if they look at his face.
Other Skills: Making incomprehensible memes, starting flame wars on the internet, and photography.

Hero Agency: Sincerity Hero’s Group, the largest agency for covert operation specialists.
Why were they picked to be a hero?: He’s mostly used to cover up the agency’s mistakes, when he fights bad guys it’s just because he showed up without asking. Plus the previous head hero “ Night Life “ had taken a special interest in his powers.

Previous Occupation: Highschool Student

Personality: Very relaxed, but enjoys provoking people. He will say whatever it takes to get under someone’s nerves if he finds them interesting enough. A basic rule to describe him would be “ better to be hated than forgotten “ even though he knows he’ll be forgotten either way. He’s smart, but he uses all his brain cells up on stupid jokes.

Likes: Pandas, junk food, video games, anime, and karaoke
Dislikes: does not have a lot of strong opinions on the matter.
History:
Failed highschool because his teachers kept marking him absent. Went home to his mom, who forgot his name (even though she loves him very very much ). Got caught stealing some random knick-knack from a store, and the cops let him go because they forgot why they arrested him in the first place. At this point Nikias obviously suspected something was up, so he just decided to use his powers for- well not good, but for fun. He went to the nearest hero agency, and started working there without asking first. Eventually he got his name into the roster and by that time the agency realised they were impressed enough to actually hire him.

Name: Ariiasq Au Raa
Hero/Sidekick/Informant Alias: Flashbang
Other Aliases/Nicknames:
(TBA; they were never given nicknames by any of their, as they like to call, "Handlers", and they don't socialize much)

Age: 14-15-ish.
Gender: Nonbinary
Pronouns: They/Them; She/her in suit
Occupation: Sidekick

Height: 5'9"; 6'2" in gear.
Physical Description:

In suit:
Appearing a curvy, feminine Mesomorph, Flashbang usually wears a dark jumpsuit littered with thin metal armor, most notably around her long tail, which leads the plates up to the back, shoulders, neck, and head, where the armor ends in a pointed plate near her spine. Four eyes are set into her mask, the larger of the two the same purple as their suit (tinted to block out the light), and the smaller gold (scanners).

They have a quality voice changer that pitches their voice into a bit of a deep female voice, much unlike Ariiasq's androgynous, kind-of mumbly voice.

Out of Suit:
Out of suit, Ariiasq is a skinny—near-malnourished—child with heavily dilated gold eyes, almost looking drugged. They are not; they're just used to low-light environments. Their hair is dark red, near black, and they have long legs that dwarf the rest of their body. Arii is built very delicately, more for speed than for taking hits.

Hero Disguise: See: P.D.
Faceclaim:

Powers:

Desc:

Blink:
Ability to teleport (range dependent on the heat of their environment.

Thermokinesis:
Ability to manipulate and sense heat in a 10ft radius.

Tail:
A long (7.5ft), thin red-blue tail used for balance.

Thermal immunity:
Physically unable to be harmed by heat or fire.

Strengths:
-Tail is very long and prehensile
-Unable to be harmed by their own heat
-Able to make their own long(ish) distance portal, in a sense
-Very good at evasion

Weaknesses:
-Thermokinesis has a very high energy drain, forcing them to end battles quickly.
-Blink is reliant on the environment, and they can't teleport in places under freezing.
-Tail is very delicate
-Thermal immunity means they're cold blooded; their blood will freeze
-Thermal immunity results in blood that has a hard time coagulating
-Eternally anemic due to the energy needed to keep their abilities running
-Very, very light.
-Very sensitive to light and smell
-Sensitive to color

Comments:
N/A

Origin of Powers: They were just kinda born with them.
Fighting Style:
Fast and ruthless, Flashbang fights dirty to end the fight as quickly as possible.
Other Skills:
-Lockpicking
-Large-caliber rifles over long distances
-Tracking people

Hero Agency: N/A They're kinda freelancing for anyone who needs them.
Why were they picked to be a hero?:
Ariiasq has a good solve rate, often going in solo. Though, they're a horrible field communicator, they're great for PR, with a spunky—though kind—persona and willingness to do just about anything they're told to.

Previous Occupation: N/A

Personality:

Ariiasq is often described as having "no personality". This is accurate. Primarily because they consciously avoid forming opinions and a personality so they can do their job without guilt or any other such distractions. They made that mistake once and they won't do it again.

Likes: What's convenient. (To be added to)
Dislikes: What's inconvenient. (To be added to)
History:
-Groomed at a young age to be a perfect nocturnal hero
-Hasn't seen the sun in at least 5 years
-Was the absolute posterchild for "perfect"
-Intense performance anxiety that forces them to do their best on everything that doesn't necessarily need that
-This has resulted in unhealthy everything
-And physical and mental exhaustion
-They forced themself to be perfect constantly, eliminating as much bias as they could and turning into what's essentially a working drone
-All opinions were consciously rejected
-They entered the field about a year and a half ago
-They accepted everything wordlessly and without question
-None of their coworkers have ever really seen anything about them... like ever
-Ariiasq has never met heroes, but Flashbang has.

Are you cool?: Hell yeah! I be cool fuckin' beans!

Name: Jet Kaedos
Hero/Sidekick/Informant Alias: NightOwl
Other Aliases/Nicknames:
-Reaper (He used to be a sidekick)
-Six (informant)
-Seraph (Hero)

Age: 37
Gender: Male
Pronouns: He/Him
Occupation: Informant/Hero

Height: 7'6" (8'6" shifted)
Physical Description:

Hero Disguise:
Faceclaim:
v9 Jet human.png
v11 Jet Seraph.png
Jet Pfp.png

Powers:

Kadoshi Seraph is an ability that transforms its user into the hyperspecific form that has come to be known as a "Kadoshi Seraph". These are some strange hybrid between a snake, a human, and a bird. They're quite famous in America, as the Kadoshi family have been heroes for a long time. In America, they were known as "Hero of Storms; Seraph".

The Kadoshi Seraph itself is an odd thing; its scales store and release electricity on command, first of all. So do its feathers, which are not exactly feathers, but are similar in structure and function. Its jaw is split into four mandibles, which have separate muscles behind them, allowing each to move and swivel independently. Of course, this makes some odd changes to its users' skeletal structure, often causing some irregularities. Recently, the quirk has developed a secondary ability related to some of the previous abilities that had been lost after a few generations; electrokinesis.

Electrokinesis allowed the Kadoshi Seraph greater control of its electricity.

Strengths:
-Eight-mandibled jaw
-Very exact control of electricity
-Cannot be killed by electricity
-Heightened senses
-Flight's cool
-Glowing scales/wings are very distracting.
-Can glide on ocean wind currents for hours at a time
-Antibiotic saliva

Neutrals:
-Fucked up anatomy in both forms.
-Teeth are growing constantly; will shed each tooth every six months and let new ones come in.
-Natural sense of balance and the poles.
-Cannot taste some flavors
-Shifting takes a lot of energy, though after the initial shift, no further drain is applied.
-No blood

Weaknesses(must be greater than or equal to strengths in severity):
-Wings are easy targets and very delicate.
-Jaw is very easy to break or even tear off if one's strong enough.
-Water and anything that'll ground him will flat-out prevent him from controlling his electricity.
-Water, if he's covered in it, can prevent him from discharging, as well.
-Heightened senses can easily cause overload.
-Ability is built for precision; not large-scale AOEs.
-Ability is often overwhelming.
-High-frequency sounds can seriously mess with his balance and internal rhythm.
-Eyes are built for night-time; it can be hard to walk around in the day.
-The skin under the armored plating in his back is highly sensitive and so much as pressing on it too hard can immobilize him.
-Cannot be resuscitated with a defibrillator
-The plating on his back controls his electricity output; find a way to fuck with those and you can leave his electricity completely unreliable.

Name: Ophelia Lovett

Hero/Sidekick/Informant Alias: The Creator, or better known as "Sentinel"

Other Aliases/Nicknames: Ophie, an affectionate name given to her by friends.

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Pronouns: She/her

Occupation: Hero

Height: 5'3"

Physical Description: Ophelia is a rather ordinary young woman. She has an athletic physique which is often buried beneath baggy, loose-fitting, or stained clothing. Only in higher garb is it possible to witness her trained body. And yet, while she is lean, her love for pastries keeps her from achieving the ultimate 6 pack. She is best described as a nerdy, artsy college student, often buried within a sketchbook or art pad. She has collar-bone length, chestnut-colored hair that is usually in tousled waves. She has a middle part, and the strands of hair bordering either side of her face are white. She has a light complexion, and her eyes are a deep, chocolate color. Her face is oval-shaped, with big doe eyes and a rounded nose. Light freckles decorate her cheeks and nose. A few beauty marks dot her neck, although she is hardly aware of them. The rest of her body contains freckles here and there. Her lips are usually in a rough state due to habitual chewing but are shaped with a heavy lower lip and rounded cupids bow. Her fingernails are kept short and usually painted black or contain cute simplistic designs.

Hero Disguise: A 6'0", broad-shouldered, muscley woman dressed in a typical skin-tight, turtle-necked bodysuit. The base of the suit is royal purple. The boots, that reach to her knees in the front and dramatically lower on the sides and back, are a cream color. The sleeves, chest, and neck are also cream-colored, despite a purple square in the center of her chest. Within that square is a large opal-looking jewel. Her gloves are cream and envelop everything from the forearm down. The top half of her face is obscured by a white, eyeless mask. Her hair changes color quite often but is always in her signature tightly woven space bun style. Upon closer inspection, the quality of her suit and mask may vary. Sometimes they are very detailed, with outlines, intricate designs, and stylish displays of exposed skin. Other times, she may appear in less detail, lacking any patterns or flare.

Powers:
She has the ability to physically manifest anything she draws, sketches, paints, or creates.
This includes both inanimate objects and animated semi-sentient creatures. All fully sentient creatures will be controlled directly by her, including her "hero". This places her in a position of vulnerability, as her conscience no longer exists within her physical body. Her physical body is still awake, but cannot move, use its senses, or defend itself. Her avatar must not travel too far from her physical body, or it will disappear. If controlling an avatar, Ophelia can regrasp her consciousness at any time. Her avatar will not move but will continue existing. Ophelia is able to manifest more drawings during this time, move to a different location, etc. However, this leaves her avatar vulnerable to attacks.

Each manifestation requires exertion from the creator. The more detailed a creation is, the less demanding it is on Ophelia. Equally, the less detailed a creation is, the more demanding the process is for energy and exertion. Some drawings must meet a minimum requirement of details to manifest, such as animated creatures, which must be at least semi-detailed to even begin attempting to manifest.

If a creature has powers (3 basic abilities max, or 1 intricate ability), such as her avatar who is often able to jump higher than average and has greater resilience and greater strength, she must hold on to the thoughts within her mind before manifesting the creation. Their abilities cannot be changed once they are created.

Her understanding of how an object/machine functions are also involved in the creation process. For machinery to be manifested, not only will Ophelia need to know how and why it runs, but she must draw out at least a basic blueprint.

She is able to draw and store creations for use but must be able to physically touch them to manifest them. Once a creation is manifested, the original drawing/art form vanishes and cannot be used again. A new drawing must be used.

Manifested items/creatures only last for an hour and must stay within a 1-mile radius of the creator. If an item/creature takes a certain amount of damage, it will vanish.

Her manifested items/creatures are fully real while they are manifested. This means that they can cause damage to her, other people, and property. She is able to will her creations out of existence but must see the creation before this can be done.

Semi-sentient creatures will recognize Ophelia, but can only follow a basic command, such as "attack so-and-so". This order must be given during their manifestation, not afterward.

The size of creation may also determine how demanding a manifestation may be. Large creations are obviously harder to manifest, take longer to manifest, and have higher minimum detail requirements.

If Ophelia's physical form becomes unconscious or is killed, her creations will vanish immediately.

Origin of Powers: She's not entirely sure. She discovered them when she was very young, but has kept them hidden for fear of being ridiculed by her very strict, spiritual family.
Fighting Style: Ophelia prefers to keep herself entirely hidden from fighting. However, Sentinel, her hero avatar, is entirely a close-combat fighter.

Other Skills:
It plays into her power, but she's a pretty good artist.
Ophelia has trained and continues to train to acquire combat knowledge that she performs in Sentinel's body.

Hero Agency: The Metropolitan Agency, named after the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They operate in the Manhattan district.

Why were they picked to be a hero?: She definitely wasn't the first pick. However, the agency got itself in a pickle after a few members caused a very public mess involving the deaths of a few innocent civilians. They were desperate to do damage control. Ophelia was chosen to create a likable persona and charm the public after the agency's star hero, Tectonic vanished. Her ability to create and shape a hero according to the PR team's exact directions finalized her new job.

Previous Occupation: She worked as an informant.

Personality: Ophelia is a strategic, quick-witted individual. Her mind works well under pressure, but her body does not. She has been learning to overcome this, and while she may complete her task trembling and drenched in sweat, she still gets the job done. She is quite shy and self-conscious but constantly works to push herself out of her comfort zone. Due to her shakey self-esteem, she is very humble and often discredits her achievements. She is exceptionally skilled at staying out of the limelight, a sad, but necessary quality for her job and survival. Due to childhood trauma, Ophelia's sense of self is greatly damaged, and because of this she is more easily manipulated. It only makes sense, as a broken foundation can be easily rebuilt by anyone. She is currently on a journey to find herself. With no set goals, Ophelia often feels as if she is drifting aimlessly through life. She enjoys telling lame jokes and says "dude" a lot.

Ophelia's normal "subtle, sweet and weird" personality ceases to exist when she becomes Sentinel. Sentinel is proud, fierce, and confident. In fights, she rages with anger so pure you'd never believe that Ophelia was controlling her. She is charming and outgoing, quite literally born to be a public figure. She even adopts a more mature, personable diction.

Likes:
Pastries
Cream and caramel with some coffee
Training with her ARC-appointed combat trainer. She only likes to train with him, as they've bonded over tons of hours of training.
Puzzles
Animals
Especially cats
Recently gotten into sculpting

Dislikes:
Spiritual fanatics
How ARC is kind of sketchy sometimes, she got a small glimpse when she was hired
Tomato sauce
Candles that don't use soy wax
Being yelled at
Being lied too

History:
Ophelia was born and raised in the rural, farming region of New York. Her family was extremely controlling and radically spiritual. They ran a very strict household. They attempted to stomp out the creativity and imagination Ophelia expressed and consequently caused Ophelia to struggle with her sense of self in adulthood. One day, when Ophelia was around eight years old, she discovered her powers. She was locked in her room after angering her parents by attempting to interact and play with her brother and his male friends. She had been doodling, a task often discouraged by her parents as they had no control over her thoughts and actions during this process. One of the doodles she was the most focused on, a colorful bunny, vanished from the page and appeared on the bed beside her. She had fallen asleep shortly after that, exhausted.

Since that day, Ophelia had kept her powers secret from her family. She continued expressing her creativity despite punishment from her parents. Artworks Ophelia would slave over for hours were often destroyed right in front of her as a punishment. She left her home the day she turned eighteen, without any money to her name. She sold her artwork on the streets until she raised enough money to get a cheap apartment in the city. She was eventually recruited after she manifested a concrete barrier in front of a car barreling off the street and towards a group of pedestrians on the sidewalk, saving them. She worked as an informant for a while, using animals, insects, and humans as avatars to gather information.

Are you cool?: Cool beans

Timehero2.pngName: Maxwell "Max" Lincoln Kelly
Hero/Sidekick/Informant Alias: Impulse
Nicknames/Alias: "Blue" sometimes in costume
Age: 13
Gender: Male (He/Him)
Occupation: Hero (In-training)

Height: 5'3" (~160cm) [Costume's thick soled boots, elevated insole and the helmet add about 3 inches to his height (~170cm), raised to a full 5-6 inches (~175cm) with the skates deployed]
Physical Description: Max has a lean and fairly scrawny build, somewhat underweight though he has been steadily getting a better handle on it. His skin is patchy with freckles, with various surgical scars on most of his body. His eyes are a strangely vibrant blue in hue after awakening to his powers, meanwhile his scruffy outgrown hair is black. On casual days he tends to wear a simple white long-sleeved undershirt and then a hoodie or t-shirt atop alongside some shorts or white-grey jeans with a superhero themed belt.

Hero Disguise: His hero uniform is made up of a well-padded full body suit, with light protective plating at the wrists, knees, elbows and chest. The extra overall padding and design of the suit also helps 'pad out' Max build to hide his scrawny physique. The overall colour scheme is striped blue, black and white. He has a full-face covering helmet with blue visor to help conceal his identity and protect his head from injuries, a communicator piece, flashlight and heads-up display of his heartrate has also been included.

Gear:
-Battery Pack: On the back of Max's costume essentially as a built-in backpack is a battery pack with Hive's logo that powers to the gadgets and weapons he carries on his person. In addition it is wired into electrodes on the inside of his chestplate set to monitor his heartrate, and start pacing/defibrillate if Max overuses his powers and collapses.
-Shock-gauntlet: While certainly less powerful than anything a electrical-hero could output Max can divert power from his battery pack into the gloves of his suit to shock & taser any target he or his weapon strikes. He can also in theory power an electrical device with this for some time if he's careful with the voltage.
-Telescopic Staff: A telescopic metal quarterstaff, lightweight but durable its able to function as a reliable close-quarters weapon for both offense and defence. The metal is highly conductive so it can receive and transfer voltage from his shock gauntlet.
-Heavy duty handcuffs: Max carries several sets of heavy-duty cuffs designed by ARC to be able to restrain targets. Though some powers may be able to easily break such they are a useful tool in non-lethally restraining foes. Each set is electronically locked and can be remotely unlocked via Max's gauntlets to prevent him ever being caught in them.
-Crossbow-gauntlet: Attached to Max's other gauntlet is a small electrically-powered crossbow-styled launcher that can fire at medium to long range when deployed. It is normally loaded with a clip of tranquiliser darts giving him an effective option at range to neutralise foes, assuming he can actually hit them. In theory he could launch anything relatively small object.
-Motorised Skates: Max's boots include a pair of custom-made rollerblade frames with electronic motors that he can use to greatly increasing his speed and mobility in urban and indoor spaces. They are retractable, capable of sliding back and locking on the back of the boot out of the way if he finds himself in very uneven terrain or if he's otherwise required to climb something.

Powers: Time Flicker - Max has the ability to very briefly bring time to a halt for all but himself. This timestop takes tremendous strain upon his body nearly stopping his own heart in the process, as such he can safely only hold such a state for a few seconds at a time; making his ability unsuited for a sustained conflict. Furthermore most gadgets, devices and non-melee weapons fail to function limiting his choice of actions until this state is released as only his body itself has time flow normally.
As such this ability is primarily useful for mobility purposes, appearing to teleport from one spot to another, infiltrating past camera's and alarms, evading incoming attacks (if he can react fast enough and isn't too tired already) or for indirect offensive actions such as attempting to disarm a foe of/mess with their equipment in the brief instance time is frozen. As time is effectively unchanged from Max's perspective the force of his melee strikes during this state would not carry any more energy than they would normally, and his ranged projectiles would not move until time was continued. Visually others in the area see nothing of his actions but a brief blue-shifted afterimage where he stood at the moment of activation.

To the public knowledge and to those without much direct knowledge of him most likely assume his power is simply mini-bursts of superspeed or some similar ability, especially given his enhanced-ground mobility from skating. As explaining the details of local-scale time warping is difficult from a PR point of view.

Origin of Powers: Escaped test subject of a Supervillains experiment.
Fighting Style: Max prefers when possible not to fight a foe head on and instead employing ambush tactics, hit-and-run techniques or trying to outmanoeuvre his foes so he preferably never ends up in the direct line of fire. As such he prefers fighting in areas with plenty of cover, where he can either sneak up to or otherwise catch off guard a target to dash up, strike, shock and then either restrain the target or escape for cover again. He frequently uses his powers to help either cover his approach/escape in a blink of an eye, to move between cover unseen, to to cuff an unaware adversary if he can get the drop on them, or to attempt to steal/disarm the opponent of equipment. He is fully aware he isn't the strongest of combatants so every move is usually very calculated attempt to outsmart his foe, and to disarm/otherwise render them harmless over trying to win a content of power. In a close-quarters fight he's a lot weaker and vulnerable, especially if he's grabbed.
Other Skills: Skating & Parkour (self-taught), sneaking around (self-taught), basic lockpicking and electronics (being taught by ARC), Cooking (taught by his parents).

Hero Agency: Hive
Why were they picked to be a hero?: After being rescued by members of Hive, Max was trained as a future Sidekick because of the clear potential of his power, and the initiative he'd shown during his escape. While his power aren't the flashiest themselves there were ways ARC felt they could be spun along with his existing urban skillset to be marketable; and having a level-headed one train alongside the human torch sidekick at Hive would likely serve the agency well in the future - Though his training has recently been accelerated from simply sidekick to that of full junior Hero due to the recent disappearances... Despite his prior lack of actual field-experience.
Previous Occupation: Student / Sidekick-in-training?

Personality: Max is a pretty quiet and cautious kid. He often hesitates when making decisions, unless he's otherwise peer pressured into something. He's a hard worker however, diligently forcing himself to complete whatever task he's set for himself. He dislikes anything that really puts him outside his comfort zone and prefers to stay in known territory. Despite both this and not liking the spotlight however, after being rescued he's set his mind set on being a Hero despite how much it scares him. Ever curious Max has also gained a habit and knack of taking apart ARC equipment he's given to try and figure out how it works, and has an active part in shaping and designing some of the gear now in his costume.
In his freetime he mostly spends it in his civilian attire out rollerblading for hours at a time at a skatepark, or at his computer browsing the internet and playing games.
Likes: Rollerblading, Computers, Video Games, Milkshakes, Videos of superheros
Dislikes: Being a coward, Swimming, Doctors, Being on camera, How sweaty he gets after wearing his costume, eating fish.

History: Max used to be a pretty ordinary kid up until just over a year ago, spending his days hanging out with his friends, burning his time out of school skating day in and out dreaming of getting to compete in and take home a medal at a local youth-contest during summer break, ect. Then he and a number of other kids from his school were kidnapped by a superpowered villain. Max doesn't fully remember everything that happened but he knows he and the other kids were subjected to a number of painful experiments in some attempt to create new superpowers. Max managing to slip out of his restraints managed to get a signal out for help which resulted in the Hive hero agency bursting in a shortly after while Max and the other kids did there best to escape.
These kids were almost all taken into custody by ARC and while most didn't develop any powers that were too special Max's new-found power did catch the attention of the Hive agents, especially as they learnt it was him that originally slipped himself free and signalled for them. As such they set him on the path to become a future sidekick and maybe even hero for their agency once he'd recovered in ARC care.

Are you cool?: Beans.

Name: Haine Rosengarten
Hero/Sidekick/Informant Alias: Neve
Other Aliases/Nicknames: Ice Prince, Spoiled Brat, Tiny Bastard
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Pronouns: He/Him
Occupation: Hero

Height: 5’6” (168 cm)
Physical Description:
Haine has cobalt blue eyes and icy blue hair that reaches his shoulders. His bangs cut across his forehead and hang just over his eyebrows. On occasion, he sometimes puts his hair up in a small ponytail. He's got a small but still somewhat muscular build. Haine’s complexion is pale, taking on a whitish, desaturated blue pallor. He tends to dress quite formally, with a white dress shirt and tie, though the latter is usually tied quite loose, and his top button is often left unclasped.
Hero Disguise:
Haine’s hero disguise is a simple royal blue hooded jumpsuit with red detailing along the length of his arms and legs.
EaCy-7XU0AA3aKy.jpg

Powers:
Ice Manipulation: Haine hails from a long line of Ice Users, and as such has been trained by the very best the most effective usage of such an ability, with the added benefit of having undergone rigorous, martial training to hone his mind and body. Using his power, Haine can create, shape, move, control, and otherwise manipulate ice, with this ability even extending to the limited manipulation of ‘cold’ itself by reducing the kinetic energy of atoms using ice.

Prolonged and/or excessive use of his power leaves Haine chilled, and may result in sluggishness, hypothermia, and frostbite if he overexerts himself without allowing ample time to 'cool down'. Additionally, the mass of ice he produces is proportional to the amount of chill he takes on. Larger, more expansive attacks cause Haine to accumulate chill much more rapidly than smaller, more targeted applications.

Lastly, though his power allows him to attack from a distance, the ice Haine produces must originate within a 3 meter diameter around his person. Thus, if we wanted to launch an attack at an opponent thirty meters away, he would have to first conjure up an ice attack within his 3 meter diameter, and then launch it at his intended target.
Origin of Powers:
Haine inherited his abilities from his family, and he comes from a long line of notable Ice Users and heroes
Fighting Style:
Medium-to-long range attacks supplemented with close-quarter combat skills
Other Skills:
Strategy, Tactics, Sass, Looking Smug

Hero Agency:
The Green Dot (an agency of tenuous reputation, of which a handful of members have gone missing. Some would say that such an agency was beneath him, considering his lineage; his reasons for choosing this agency are currently unknown)

Why were they picked to be a hero?:
His pedigree, combined with his highly marketable super power, makes him a highly sought after asset by various agencies.
Previous Occupation:
Heir

Personality:
Haine is a cool-headed and highly analytical boy, especially for someone his age. He is also rather smug. He has developed a reputation as a bit of a rebel, especially among his family. Despite his cool demeanor, Haine is rather friendly most of the time; by the same token, he can become extremely ruthless and is not above using others to suit his own personal ends. One of his trademark personality traits is his ability to act rather playful whilst toying with people and finds great entertainment in riling up both friends and enemies alike. He is also quite bold, willing to go against the wishes of his father and elder siblings. Although he can be relentless when needed, Haine is a rather sensitive person, showing extreme care and caution, this coupled with a somewhat guarded personality means that he often doesn't trust others to complete tasks or keep their word, and instead prefers to do things himself, and keep others at an arm's length. All of this leads Hain to come across as a little cold on the surface. Despite hiding the more sensitive aspects of his personality well, Haine cares very deeply for the things he finds precious, including his family. When the chips are down, he is willing to put himself at risk to protect those he cherishes.
Likes:
Small animals, sweets, dessert
Dislikes:
Savory foods, meat-headed brutes, ARC

History:
Haine has traveled all this way from his family's sprawling estate nestled away in some far off European countryside, the ancestral home of the Rosengarten clan—an egregiously wealthy and influential family of enhanced persons. His arrival sparked something of an uproar, as the elusive Rosengarten family have long been known to produce heroes of particular renown. Rather, it would have, had Haine not made this sojourn, ostensibly without the expressed consent of his father, the patriarch of the Rosengarten family, and the head of a prestigious Hero Agency of his own.

His true reasons for coming, and what he intends to do now that he's here, are as of yet unknown.

Name: The Dragon Sin Wrath
Hero/Sidekick/Informant Alias: Wrath
Other Aliases/Nicknames: Sin Drake (fake name that she doesn’t see the point in)
Age: ~4600
Gender: Female
Pronouns: She/Her
Occupation: Hero

Height: 6’7”
Weight: 380 lbs
Physical Description: Wrath.png
Hero Disguise: Wrath costume.png

Powers:
-Anger Management: Can manipulate how angry people within a 20m radius are and can consume anger within a 10km 30m radius. Must consume anger to function. If there is no anger to consume, she turns back into stone until she is re-exposed to anger. Can store the anger if there is too much to consume at once for later consumption. A side effect of this is that she cannot feel anger. This includes irritation, righteous fury, etc. This does not mean she can’t feel sad or vengeful
-Made From Stone: She might look and feel like she’s made from organic material while active, but she’s carved from granite and can withstand anything a solid granite statue of her size can. The only real way to kill her is to shatter her heart, otherwise she can be pieced back together. Her wounds won’t heal on their own without pouring metal into them and a sufficient supply of anger
-Anger Conversion: Converts excess anger into energy she can use for magic.
Origin of Powers: Was created for this purpose (see history)
Fighting Style: A capable hand-to-hand fighter, she relies on her strength and experience to pummel her opponents into submission. Prefers using a chain whip augmented with AOE magic.
Other Skills: Can speak a handful of dead languages, decent tactician, can use a variety of ancient weapons

Hero Agency: Ferris
Why were they picked to be a hero?: Has loads of combat experience, strongly disapproves of the strong targeting the weak, and was bored with being a research subject
Previous Occupation: Ex-Gladiator, Research Subject

Personality: Fairly stoic with a mischievous streak, she looks like the strong silent type, but is really the silently-laughing-behind-your-back type... not that you can really tell the difference at first glance. She's honestly not very smart outside of combat and emotional intelligence.
Likes: Fighting, showers, soft things
Dislikes: Boredom, press conferences/interviews
History:
-Was carved from granite and brought to life with magic around 2500 BC
-Proceeded to serve as a guard for her creators’ organization until its disbanding
-Wandered around as a mercenary for a few centuries, ended up as a gladiator in Rome
-Heard about China and wanted to check it out
-Got herself locked up and her abilities mostly sealed until she’s found by ARC in a tomb that somehow found its way to a museum in NYC
-She doesn’t legally exist, is thousands of years old, and can’t speak any modern languages so obviously is the perfect research subject
-Couple years later, the disappearances happen and she’s learned enough English to reintegrate with society (and communicate her boredom with their research of her aka threaten violence if they didn’t free her) so they hire her on as a hero

Are you cool?: as beans :3c

so, since this character has autism, i tried to replicate the writing style of books featuring first-person povs of autistic characters, like 'the curious incident of the dog in the nighttime' and 'm is for autism', so sorry if the writing seems a bit weird or choppy ^^'

i will most likely make another character with my more usual writing style ;w;

Name: Halle Moore
Hero/Sidekick/Informant Alias: Ladybird
Other Aliases/Nicknames: Bug Girl
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Pronouns: She/Her
Occupation: Hero

Height: 5'2"
Physical Description: Halle is short and skinny, with a petite build that's more reminiscent of a doll than a girl. She has long, wavy brown hair and wide eyes that are always taking in the world around her. Her skin is a toasty golden-brown, dotted with a small beauty mark under her left eye. It's a rarity to spot her without her trademark jacket, spotted with six ladybugs who's spots spell out her name in an alphanumeric code: 8-1-12-12-5.
Hero Disguise: A fairly simple dark grey leotard with thin white stripes down the sides. There's a red oval meant to look like a ladybug on the back, with four dots on each wing.
Faceclaim:
Tu-Eres-Ella-Dami-n-Wayne-Y-Tu-1.jpg

Powers: Corporikinesis - Halle can 'shut off' parts of the human body. This is typically powers or senses, but can range to turning off limbs and even internal organs.

Weaknesses
  • Since her powers require a strange balance of concentration and emotion, Halle can easily over- or under-do it, doing major damage when she doesn't intend to, or end up doing nothing at all.
  • Her powers have sort of a 'blanket effect'- the more people she has to use it on, the less effective. She couldn't knock out a whole room of people, for example.
  • Along with this, her powers only work if she actively knows the person is there. So she wouldn't necessarily be able to turn off the powers of someone who's invisible or shapeshifted, unless she knew they were there.
Origin of Powers: A recessive gene passed through her family.
Fighting Style: Halle doesn't really have much of a 'fighting style' at all. When confronted, she'll usually resort to fumbling with her powers, which either ends up with her not having enough concentration to do much of anything, or overdoing it and causing sometimes permanent damage. If she manages to use her powers correctly, she'll most likely be
Other Skills: Halle is like a sponge- when she finds something interesting, she'll soak up any information she can find on it, and remember that information extremely well. She also has somewhat of a photographic memory and an internal clock.

Hero Agency: ETHER
Why were they picked to be a hero?: While her power isn't even remotely flashy, it's undoubtedly useful on the field, and Halle's innocent and childlike persona is a good marketing contrast to the rest of the brooding and overconfident heroes of the world. And doesn't every megacorporation need to get their diversity quota up somehow?
Previous Occupation: Informant-in-Training

Personality:
Halle likes a lot of things. She likes reading about plants and sleeping with two pillows and the sound of rain, but only when it’s not windy. She likes bugs, but not butterflies, because they remind her of the butterfly girl. She likes the smell of fresh grass and cookies in the oven, but not those two together, because grass cookies would be silly, and probably wouldn’t taste very good. She doesn’t like talking to other people very much, because they use metaphors and exaggerations to say things they really don’t mean, which Halle thinks is lying, but everyone else doesn’t. There are other people that don’t lie when they talk, which Halle likes, but they still don’t understand why there’s a specific order in the way her Barbies were placed in her toy bin as a kid (alternating rows of horizontal and vertical), or why she’ll talk all day about the differences between an earthworm and a compost worm but would break down crying if she was forced to speak in front of the entire class. Halle’s been told most of her life that she’s ‘different’, which seems silly to her, since everyone’s different, like how Dad has brown eyes but Mom has green, and how some of the kid in her class are taller or shorter, but never the exact same height, except for Lacy and Gracie, but that’s because they’re twins, which is why Halle gets upset when the butterfly girl and other girls in her class make fun of her, because none of them are twins, so they’re all different, just like her. Halle will never really understand all the unnecessary difficulties people place on how they talk or act, but in all reality, she doesn’t want to.

Halle knows she can be dangerous. She knows she can get upset quickly, like when someone touches her without asking, or messes up her order of doing things, and when she gets upset, people can get hurt, and she doesn't want to hurt people without meaning to. She doesn't want to hurt people at all, but if she doesn't, other people might get hurt. She needs to hurt some people to keep others from being hurt, which apparently is what being a hero's about.
Likes: Insects, rainy days, reading, baking
Dislikes: Butterflies, Metaphors & turns of phrase, stressful situations, being the center of attention
History:
Halle knew that she was a ‘different’ child from when she was little. Her parents always took special care of her, even though Halle could tell they didn’t treat her like all the other children, because they’d always keep her by their side during play group meetings and never let her play with the other kids in the park without them being there. She could tell it was weighing them down- they always seemed so tired- but she had no idea why.

When grade school started, Halle finally realized what was so different about her. For one, she couldn’t stand playing outside during recess with the other kids. On her first day, the combined audial and tactile overstimulation of the itchy wood chips on the playground floor and creaky jungle gyms and swing sets led to her having a meltdown and having to stay in the nurses’ office for the rest of the day. Whereas other kids would be able to babble their ways through conversations normally, Halle would go on long speeches about whatever seemed to interest her at that point in time, leading to many kids calling her ‘weird’, though Halle never understood why- those things made her happy, so why wouldn’t it make them happy, too?

It was the first day of sixth grade when Halle met the butterfly girl. She was from another class, and Halle could never remember her name, so she called her ‘butterfly girl’ because she always wore dresses with little butterflies all over the skirt. Halle had gone up to her, asking why the butterflies on her dress were blue, but the one on her headband was orange. Butterfly girl had just laughed at her, and gone back to playing with the rest of her friends. Since that day, though, butterfly girl had radiated some inexplicable energy towards Halle, something verging on friendly, but not quite.

Halle tried to be nice. She figured that if she’d be nice to everyone, they’d be nice back. Butterfly girl started

It wasn’t a good day when everything happened. First, there was no ladybug on Halle’s windowsill. Every Thursday morning, there would be at least one ladybug on the windowsill, and that’s the way Halle liked it, but this morning, there were no ladybugs, which made Halle upset-- and worried. Then, one of the spots on Halle’s favorite jacket fell off, so the alphanumeric code she’d asked her mom to sew on now said ‘Hakle’ instead of ‘Halle’, which made no sense.

Name: Daniel Reeds
Hero/Sidekick/Informant Alias: Actaeon
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Pronouns: He/Him
Occupation: Hero

Height: 6'0"
Physical Description: Varies from moment to moment, but in his human form, Daniel has a lean yet muscular build, with dark hair and eyes and tanned skin. He's quiet and quick on his feet, and tends to accidentally sneak up on people. You'll usually find him wearing jeans and a hoodie, wandering the forest or
Hero Disguise: Daniel's disguise is modeled after a hunter's traditional gear. He has a light jacket with fur embedded across the sleeves, making it look as though he's halfway transformed into some creature, along with his pants. He also has a snakeskin quiver and bow that were originally meant as purely decorative, but were adapted to be used if Daniel wasn't able to shift while fighting. Along with these, he had a pair of fingerless archery gloves, padded at the palm to resemble paws. Instead of a mask, he has a pair of dark sunglasses that are held in place using spirit gum.
Faceclaim:

Powers: Shapeshifting - According to the terms of his agreement with the nature spirit that cursed him, Daniel can borrow the senses, and even temporarily take the form of any animal he spends a year living as. He can currently shift into a squirrel, a duck, a timber wolf, a rabbit, a stag, a panther, a rattlesnake, a shark, and a golden eagle.

Weaknesses
  • He must live as an animal for one year before being able to shift into it
  • He can only hold an animal form for around an hour before becoming exhausted and shifting back
  • He automatically shifts back when knocked unconscious
  • He can't shift into insects, they're too stupid

Origin of Powers: A pact with a nature spirit
Fighting Style: Usually depends on the animal, but for melee combat, Daniel will usually use his jaguar or wolf forms to rip and tear, and occasionally his eagle form in order to strike and quickly retreat. If he's too exhausted to shift or needs to fight from afar, then he'll use his bow to shoot at the enemy. While he's not as good with a bow as with a rifle, he's still had enough training to be at an almost professional level.
Other Skills: Hunting and tracking, basic survival skills, moving quietly

Hero Agency: Ferris
Why were they picked to be a hero?: Once he was captured, ARCEP figured he had flashy enough powers to warrant becoming a hero, especially with all the recent disappearances. Daniel accepted, not really having much of a choice- as a human, he had no friends, no family, no education, and a 9-year-long gap on his resume. Becoming a hero was basically his only option.
Previous Occupation: Flittering about different part-time fast-food jobs.

Personality: Most people don't know very much about Daniel. When you first meet him, he can be quiet and solitary, only speaking when he has something he feels like he needs to a. When he gets comfortable, though, he tends to be a warm jokester, but can still be serious when the situation requires. He acts like a big brother, fiercely loyal and protective of those he cares for, but still knows how to tease them.
Likes: Hunting, forests, animals
Dislikes: Busy cities, soup
History:
Daniel's life started pretty rough. His father left as soon as he was born, and his mother died when he was mostly a toddler. He was taken to Washington state, where he grew up with his aunt and uncle. They were nice, sure, but they were both still young, and not equipped with raising a child that wasn't theirs. Daniel spent most of his time alone, coming home from school to an empty house, his aunt and uncle usually at work or with friends. When he turned 16, his aunt and uncle decided they wanted to start a family of their own, and Daniel wasn't a part of that picture. They decided to send him off to boarding school for the rest of his education, with enough spending money to last him the next two years.

For most of his first year there, Daniel was completely alone. He wasn't pegged as the 'loser' kid, but he kept to himself, and others kept their distance. When club rush came, though, Daniel heard of the hunting club- this is a rich kid boarding school, remember?-, and, being a hormonal teenager with more than one chip on his shoulder, he figured he'd give it a go. To his surprise, he actually really liked it. He made some quick friends in the club, and the occasional outing trips they took were an easy relief from everything that had happened throughout his life.

The summer after senior year, Daniel and some of his hunting buddies went on a month-long retreat to a cabin (rich kid stuff, am I right?). While they were there, Daniel took a stupid dare to try and shoot one of the many wolves that roamed the area. Daniel, being a stupid teenager at the time, decided it would be a funny stunt, and that night, tired and somewhat intoxicated, he went out to try and shoot one. Surprisingly, he managed to hit one, but unfortunately for him, the wolf he hit happened to be a nature spirit in disguise. Enraged, the spirit cursed him to be transformed into each type of animal he'd killed for one year each.

Five surprisingly quick years later, Daniel was lifted from his curse and transformed back into a human. The first year or two were frightening, but over time, Daniel learned to deal with the instincts that came with being an animal, and learned things from his time cursed. He'd experienced the loyalty of a wolf, the quickness of a rabbit, the instincts of a stag. It was enlightening, almost- but he'd come back to no friends, no family, nothing to speak of.

Seeing this, the spirit that had originally cursed him took pity on him, and decided to cut him a deal- he could live as any animal for a year, and when he came back, he'd gain the ability to borrow the senses and strengths of those animals, and even transform into them as he pleased. Daniel was reluctant at first, but decided to heed the spirit's offer, and over the next few years, lived more lives than most humans dreamed of.

By the time he completed his fourth year, Daniel had come back to a city he didn't even recognize. The small town he'd went to school in was now a giant metropolis- a noisy, polluted, crime-filled one, at that. Superhumans were on the rise, and while Daniel had heard of those with powers throughout his life, he was so far removed from all of that, it didn't even seem like it mattered.

Daniel decided that he'd at least try to live as a human again for a bit, and over the next few months, he watched the city continue to deteriorate. His life felt monotonous, a loop of work, eat, sleep, that it was almost comparable to his lives as animals- though instead of spending his days hunting through the forest, it was spent in a Mcdonald's. At some point, though, Daniel was able to recall his original pact with the nature spirit- he had his powers. Why not use them?

Over the next few weeks, Daniel started working as his own vigilante. It was cathartic, being able to let out all his pent-up energy chasing down criminals. It was almost like hunting to him- though he never let himself get that lost in it. As time went on, though, ARCEP began to notice there was an unregistered hero on the loose, and though he was able to evade them the first few times, Daniel was eventually captured by the organization and held in one of their facilities. After a week or so, though, he was offered a position there- as a hero.
