"Please, don't go!" Felix bawled as he held tightly to his only friend at the orphanage. He was glad that Trinity found a loving couple to adopt her, but he hated that it meant he would never see her again. He thought of all the fun times he had with her, the times where he never had to feel scared or alone.

"Please! Don't go!"

Trinity woke up from a dream. She blinked as she turned to look at the clock. "Oh...crap I'm going to be late!" Trinity shot up from the bed and rushed around her room getting everything together. Once she was dressed and her hair was brushed she rushed out and found the bathroom was occupied. She huffed and stomped her foot.

"Flower get out of the bathroom!" Trinity whined before the door opened to see her older sister. Flower was also adopted by their parents, Roger and Selene. Flower was 19 and she had a rather interesting thing about her as well.

"Woke up late?" Flower's soft voice spoke as she opened the bathroom door. Flower's own deep green eyes stared down at Trinity's lighter green eyes. Flower had long white hair. Yes, it's natural. Flower moved aside as Trinity rushed through the door.

"YES!" Trinity slammed the door to the bathroom while Flower stood there with a deadpan expression at Trinity's usual overreacting.

"I'll make you some toast." Flower said as she headed down the hall. Flower faintly heard Trinity's thank you. Their house was large and had white walls and hardwood floors. It was a nice home and both girls had rather large rooms. There were pictures of Flower and Trinity spread all around the house, courtesy of Selene. Other pictures included the very intimidating Roger. He was tall, broad shouldered, and held a scar over his left eye from an accident a long time ago. He's actually more like a soft teddy bear missing a button eye. That's what Trinity explained it as.

While Trinity was brushing her teeth, Flower was making her toast. Trinity rushed out and down the winding steps toward the kitchen. Flower ignored the typical Trinity entrance of slipping in and falling.

"Here's your..." Flower turned just in time to see Trinity grab the toast and leave out the door. "Toast..." Flower sighed and shook her head.

A mad-dash to the school left Trinity hunched over and panting while her best friend Ginger patted her back. Trinity looked up at Ginger and smiled. "Why do I always have to wake up so late?"

"because you stay up playing video games." Ginger stated before she smiled shyly. Ginger was a shy girl, the complete opposite of Trinity. It was a friendship that worked though.

"Heh..." Trinity rubbed the back of her head before she headed inside and toward her first class. "Wonder what the buzz is about." Trinity asked as she eyed the other students who were so excited about. Ginger just shrugged and kept her eyes lowered. Trinity smirked at Ginger before she headed into her first class. As Trinity sat down in the middle, Ginger sat down to the left of her. There was an empty seat to the right of Trinity. Trinity was an average girl, she knew almost everyone, but only talked to a small group of her friends. She never considered herself popular and probably wouldn't want to be anyways. Trinity had a habit of being hyper and or getting into some trouble. She always seemed to embarrass herself. It was inevitable when she was around other people.

Felix looked up from the ground as a girl ran past him while walking along the side walk on the way to his new school. Ever since he left the orphanage, he was constantly switching schools because everyone kept finding out about his secret one way or another, be it through a picture or through a public reveal. Felix tugged on his hood, making sure it was secure so that it wouldn't blow off, though his tail was quite uncomfortable squeezed under his sweater and backpack. He had to keep his ears as flat as possible so they wouldn't be noticiable under the hood. Just stay out of everyone's way and you'll be fine, he thought to himself. He wanted as little attention as possible from all the other students.

Several minutes later, the school bell rang and everyone began heading towards their respective classes. Once he reached his classroom, he found everyone seated, but chattering about. With the teacher yet to arrive, Felix quietly walked in, but he could feel a few glances from a few of the students as he sat down in an empty seat next to a girl.

Trinity looked to see a boy she hadn't seen before walked in. Was that the news everyone was talking about? Trinity tilted her head before he moved to sit down next to her. She turned and smiled widely at him. He didn't seem very approachable, but that never stopped Trinity before. What he was wearing was slightly strange, but Trinity tried not to judge others. Trinity looked to the back of the class as a few boys snickered. She narrowed her eyes at them before she looked to see the teacher had walked in. Trinity straightened up as the teacher started marking that all the students were here.

"Ah, right there's a new student." The teacher said as she looked over to Felix. "Felix Heinlein, correct?" She addressed him as she looked over what he was wearing. "Welcome to the class." She said as she turned to begin the lesson. Trinity slowly started to slink down as her attention span started to leave her. This was math....and Trinity just remembered she forgot to grab some coffee. It was going to be a LOOOOONG day. Ginger of course was attentive, and Trinity was slightly jealous of her ability to comprehend math...any kind of math. Yep, Trinity started imagining herself slinking in quicksand. She raised her hand and gasped for air as she slowly faded into the sand. Trinity made a groaning noise and hunched over her desk.

Felix looked away when the girl glanced at him. People he didn't know that smiled at him made him uncomfortable. He kept his hands in his lap, not acknowledging the girl next to him. When he heard his name announced by the teacher, he pulled over his hood even more. Felix glanced at the girl sitting next to him, who was doing some weird gesture. He couldn't help but let out a small snicker as he hid his face again, trying to hide his smirk as best he could.

Trinity looked at Felix as she heard him snicker. She tilted her head to the side before suddenly she heard her name. She snapped her gaze to the teacher who was pointing to the problem on the board. "Noooooo! Why me?" Trinity fell on her desk with her arms stretched out. She did not know the answer and the teacher always seemed to pick on her. It wasn't all that fair, but Trinity had a secret weapon! Trinity straightened up as the teacher smacked a ruler on her desk.

"Because you're off in la la land." The teacher said as she stared at Trinity's alarmed expression. Trinity quickly looked to Ginger who was discreetly mouthing Trinity the answer. Trinity tilted her head before the teacher cleared her throat. "Ms. Moon?" The teacher pressed making Trinity pout.

"Uhh....uhhh." Trinity looked at Ginger who was doing some weird hand gesture. Crap, she was terrible at charades! "X = 5?"

"No..." The teacher deadpanned. "And Ginger was trying to tell you that we were looking for Y and that it equals 10." Trinity facepalmed herself while Ginger blushed and whispered sorry to Trinity.

"It's okay, Ginger..." Trinity whispered as the class all chuckled at her. "I'll go back to my quicksand..."

"What?" Ginger asked and Trinity waved her off as she tried to write down the equation before the teacher changed problems. Trinity also had terrible handwriting...sometimes Trinity couldn't even tell what she was trying to write. Thankfully, Ginger always let her borrow her notes. Trinity looked up as the teacher switched problems. She sighed again and let her head fall onto her desk in misery.

((Could you make your text bigger somehow?))

Felix sat through the rest of the class, just hoping that the teacher wouldn't call on him. Thankfully enough, the school bell rang, alerting the end of the class. Felix gathered his things and hurriedly left the classroom, looking for a secluded spot to sit down and relax. After a few minutes of searching, he found a nice quiet corner to hide in behind the school. Making sure no one else was around, he took off his hood and lifted his ears, letting the cool air blow over them.

Trinity sighed in relief as the class ended. She stood up and looked to Ginger with a small smile. She gathered up her books and left quickly as Ginger lead her through the school. Trinity looked at Ginger as they headed to their next class.

"So what do you think is up with that new boy?" Trinity asked as she examined Ginger.

"Maybe he's just shy?" Ginger whispered as she looked away.

"You're shy and you don't wear a hoodie." Trinity said back as they stopped by their lockers. Trinity held a locker next to Ginger. That's actually how they met, and Trinity couldn't help but try and talk to her. They shared most of their classes together too, so it just made sense to Trinity. Trinity grabbed the next classes books and looked from the corner of her eye at the outside window. She saw Felix pass it really quickly. Trinity paused for a moment before she looked at Ginger.

"He's outside."

"Who?"

"That boy...Felix?"

"I'm sure it's nothing to concern yourself about." Ginger eyed Trinity. She knew Trinity was just itching to find out more about this boy. Trinity often got into trouble with her cat-like curiosity, she had to investigate everything. Ginger often had to try and talk Trinity out of everything when Trinity could be talked out of it. "Remember the teacher's lounge." Trinity once got curious enough to sneak her way into the lounge. It wasn't long before they got caught. Luckily, Ginger's good name managed to get them out of a detention.

"Fiiiiine." Trinity grumbled as she turned to head to her next class. She hunched over and pouted, but Ginger ignored her.

So far so good, Felix thought to himself as he put his hood back up with a sigh. Being under his oversized hoodie was quite uncomfortable since the sleeves got in the way of his arms and was unbearably warm at times, but he had no other choice. Not to mention how uncomfortable his tail was, confined to such a small space for such a long period of time. Collecting his things, he began to head over to his next class, but it wasn't long 'til he bumped into someone who was bigger than him, an upperclassman, a jock by the looks of him with his Letterman jacket.

"Hey, watch it!" the upperclassman retorted, shoving Felix away a little.

"...sorry," Felix mumbled as he scurried along, looking away from the upperclassman's face. Felix reached his next class without much other incident. Absentmindedly sitting through the class, he thought of how long it would take before someone would figure him out and reveal his curse to the entire school. Fear struck his heart at the thought as the school bell startled him, signaling the beginning of lunch. He collected his things once more as he hurried out the classroom, returning to his little hiding spot behind the school. On his way there, he unknowingly passed by the girl that he sat next to in his first class, still not knowing her name. Once Felix reached his hiding spot, he let his hood down again as he lifted the back of his hoodie, letting his tail slink out. It felt good to have his tail feel the soft autumn breeze as he sat down, pulling out a small can of sardines from his bag.

Trinity sat through her next class with a bored expression and tapping fingers. She watched the clock with eagle eyes as she waited for her favorite period...lunch! Trinity slowly pushed back her chair as she hunched over her desk watching the small hand move.

“Now before you leave…” the teacher started as he wrote on the board. The bell rang and Trinity jumped up and moved to head toward the door at a breakneck speed before she heard, “STAY!” Trinity jerked back causing herself to trip and fall right over her own chair. With a grown, Trinity rubbed the back of her head that had hit the ground.

“Are you okay?” One student asked as the rest of them broke out in laughter.

“I’m good.” Trinity groaned out as she held up her thumb. The teacher shook his head before he handed out his assignment.

“I dismiss the class, Trinity.” The teacher stated as he eyed her backwards position over her chair and the ground.

“Yes, Mr. Howard.” Trinity said as she slipped off the chair and slowly stood back up. She grumbled as she shoved the assignment in her backpack. She hauled it over her shoulder as she stomped toward the door with a frown. Ginger met her at the door.

“What happened to you?” Ginger asked as she moved back to let other students out.

“Don’t….ask.” Trinity stated as she turned to head toward the lunchroom. Once they were about to reach it, Trinity noticed that weird boy past her again. She straightened up her back and before Ginger could say anything, Trinity was gone.

“Typical…” Ginger mumbled as she stared at where Trinity had run off too.

Trinity had lost Felix, but then she remembered where she had seen him go past in the window earlier. She immediately headed in that direction to go search him out and ask him a few curious questions. Once she spotted his oversized hoodie, she shouted.

“Hey, Felix!”

Felix calmly ate his food, knowing nobody would be around to see him exposed as he was. At least until he heard the voice of a girl calling his name. Immediately his heart froze as he panicked to put his hood back on, dropping his can of sardines in the process. A look of fear had emerged on his face as he looked over at who was calling him; the girl from earlier. Felix shot up from his seat as he pulled his hood over that it barely covered his eyes, turning to face the girl to keep his tail hidden, as he couldn't move fast enough to tuck it under his hoodie. His heart beated nonstop in his ears as he slowly backed away from the girl. "W-what do you want?" he asked in a quiet, shaky voice. Had she seen his accursed features? Will she tell the entire school? Many questions ran through Felix's head.
