Mei wasn't an easy girl to get along with when she was younger. Even though she was a laid-back person, it was difficult to get on her good side. Why she was that way no one knew, including her parents. Maybe it was because of them. She barely saw her father and when she did, it was for him to tell her they'd have to take that trip around the world next time. It could explain why she never really lets anyone in, thinking they would all be disappointments. Her mother, on the other hand, was a huge pain in the ass. She was one of those traditional ladies who believed a woman should do everything for her husband. The cleaning, tending to the house maids, being at home every day of every hour. But her daughter was nothing like her. She was adventurous, always wanting to go out and explore something new every day. Let's just say Mei was scorned a lot during her childhood. While being a particularly hard person to get to, few ever have. Especially the guy she thought would be her forever. They were together their entire high school career, until Senior year that is. The entire time they were dating, he was cheating and got a girl pregnant. It ruined her when she found out about the baby and she was never the same. How could someone she had been with for three years be a liar every time he said "I love you"? And this is how her deep sated fear of love became a reality. People told her not to let something like this effect her but with a stubborn girl like Mei Hara, that was nearly impossible.
