A few rules when it comes to character creation:
1. No mythical creatures allowed. Normal animals such as dogs or snakes are possible, but nothing along the lines of dragons, raijus and whatnot.
2. Do not overpower your character.
3. Spirit Essences are limited to three per character.
4. It's possibly to reserve a spot. Tell me in the Interest Check or in the OOC.
5. Weapons must be within real-life limitations. It can be boosted through Spirit Essence or Spirit Armament, but if not, no going beyond what a normal blade can't do.

A Mexican free tailed bat can reach a speed of 160km/h when flying straight and can use it's Echo to see it's prey and possible predators as well as it's surroundings.
Free tailed bats are very small and light and active during the night.

Personality || Rough. Impulsive. Stoic. Brutal.

Those are words that Ryoma is used to when he is being described. He is, in truth, a rather rough individual, who takes no nonsense and tends to solve things with his blade and fists. Due to growing up on the streets of the South, Ryoma has been born with a love for money, a rugged outlook on life and a tendency towards violence. He rarely ever thinks carefully about his own decisions.

He also seems to have a strange streak with fighting, as he almost always gets into a fight wherever he goes. Nights with him simply being content with drinking sake are a rarity.

Appearance || Ryoma looks sufficiently intimidating enough to most of his enemies, standing at 5'10". He has a rather toned build and tanned skin from years of wandering around Takama-ga-hara's numerous provinces and villages, and far too many scars. Though he initially had short hair, he had long since grew it out due to neglect. His strangely yellow eyes seem to be rather piercing, causing most to back off from fights with him. Underneath though, he has tattoos- an old symbol of his deceased yakuza den.

Weapons/Equipment ||
Odachi - Ryoma's best friend, next to cheap sake from quiet izakayas. Though usually carried around on his back, Ryoma soon abandoned that kind of carrying style and preferred to just carry the blade by hand. He is rather skilled at the blade...when he's not busy letting his fists do the talking.

Jitte - A weapon he swiped off of a guard on a mission before. It's good for pretending to be with the law...and being on the side of the law makes for good intimidation tactics. Ryoma rarely uses it though.

History || Ryoma has long since wanted to face down the shadows of his past. Quite literally born in an orphanage, he grew up never knowing whether his father and mother were even alive. Orphanages back then weren't as refined, and he soon realized that to get as much perks as you can- the best portion of food, the coziest place to sleep- you had to stay on top of the food chain. And he did this through being the toughest kid around.

At age 10, the local yakuza den came around, demanding the toughest, most capable kids in the orphanage. Ryoma ended up being one of them and he stayed in the den for a few years...until he had the kitsune's dream and unlocking his Spirit. Now free to do whatever he wanted, he declared his retirement from the den...and when they stopped him, he slaughtered them. Through scavenging, he found his odachi and his jitte and started travelling throughout Takama-ga-hara as a strange, bloody ronin.

It was only the start of Ryoma's acts of brutality. He hears there are other warriors, like him, and if he killed them then he'd grow stronger...
...After all, to gain the best perks in Takama-ga-hara, you had to stay on top of the food chain.

Spirit Essences ||

Strength of the Boar (Passive) - Ryoma seems to have strength far beyond a normal human's- being able to rip out poles and bend metals with ease. He also uses this superhuman strength to make his punches and kicks hit harder, as well as his sword strikes. This works especially well when his Spirit Armament is deployed.

Razorback's Leather (Passive) - Ryoma's skin has seemed to harden, not only due to his upbringing but due to the power of the Wild Boar as well. While deep cuts and whatnot will still make him bleed, his skin seems to have hardened to both cuts and bruises. As such, he seems to endure wounds more than a normal human, and will shrug off blows that would have made one stagger.

Rage of the Earth (Active) - Manipulation of the rocks and dirt. Ryoma can make them collapse, jut out, or even fly at will. He mainly uses this to change the battlefield into one that suits his fighting style more, though he also uses it to attack.

Spirit Armament || Tetsuyama - Iron Mountain

The Spirit Armament of the Wild Boar. The Tetsuyama manifests as a jinbaori - a samurai's surcoat, which is a bitter irony for the ronin- in red and white. Ryoma loses his upper body clothing while wearing the Tetsuyama, but he does gain plated sleeves that include gloves with sharp tusks on them which he uses to make punches even more of a bad time for his opponent.

When the Tetsuyama is deployed, Ryoma's passive abilities increase in power. His skin hardens a little more and his strength increases. This, however, puts him into a bit of a berserk state- it is hard to reason with him when he has the Tetsuyama on.

Personality || Akane is a peaceful character she is invariably shown as cheerful and pleasant. Akane can sometimes appear oblivious, but has also been shown as highly perceptive. She may keep a cool head and cheerful attitude to help maintain the tranquillity. Her name translates as "mist". This implys that her perspective is rather clouded, in case Japanese cultural symbolism overlaps with Western in this respect, but could also symbolize grace, amongst other connotations. Akane appears to be quite intelligent in an academic respect, she studies more than needed reading almost all the time.

While Akane is generally shown as compassionate and helpful towards anyone in trouble, she's also a vulnerable, stubborn and very short-tempered girl. She frequently becomes angry and jealous. Despite her temper, Akane has a more prominent gentle side. She has come to the aid of her rivals, even consistently feeling compassion towards or helping people who try to make her life miserable. She has repeatedly expressed extreme disapproval in attacking or hurting anyone unable to defend him or herself. She has also apologized for her behavior, once she has had time to cool down or learn the facts, and consistently risked her own life trying to help others without a second thought, showing extreme courage in this regard given her own comparatively limited skills/increased danger. Most of her flaws can be attributed to insecurities about her own attractiveness, skill, or lack of traditionally feminine talents.
Appearance || Akane is shorter than most. She has long black hair and blue eyes. Her unusual eyes makes her stand out like a thore thumb.Standing at 5'3 she is very slim and looks like if you touched her she would break but that is anything but the case. Her creamy fair complexin leaves most envious from her almond-shaped eyes to the light bright blue color they give off. Akane has a very petite looking face giving off an innocent feel making others completely oblivious or gullible to her intentions. Most women would prefer to dress in beautiful kimonos Akane would rather dress in men's close it was like that for a while until her family addressed the issue.

Weapons/Equipment || Fukiya- Blow-darts made little noise, were easy to transport and could double as flutes, pipes, or breathing straws. In a pinch bamboo or paper could be used as substitutes. Poisoning the darts made the weapon extra effective.
Kyoketsu-The kyoketsu-shoge consists of a hooked dagger attached to a rope with a ring-shaped weight at the end. The double-edged dagger could be used for stabbing while the ring swung overhead and distracted or ensnared the enemy.
Neko-te- The weapon consists of leather finger sheaths topped with sharpened metal “claws.” The sheaths slipped over the end of the wearer’s fingers. Many women poisoned the metal claws for added effect.

History || Akane's mother died when she was very young. Perhaps because of this, she appears not to have learned many traditionally feminine skills, and her terrible cooking is a running joke everything she cooks ends up making people sick, except for her curry. Her elder sister could be seen as a mother figure to Akane as she does most of the feminine chores around the house. Her second sister is a bit scheming and only thinks about money although this is true the sisters are very close, their father being their only living relative. Akane grows up as a tomboy, getting into fights, acting tough, and improving her martial arts.

Akane's father owned a material arts dojo it was common for her to know how to fight at such a young age. Kids her age would normally bully her for not having a mother they would always get beaten by Akane to the point where they can't sit down. By the age of 16, Akane fell in love with a doctor who worked nearby. It turned he had his eyes set on Akane's big sister at this point in her life Akane had very short hair and dressed like a boy once she found out that it was her appearance Akane quickly changed to appear more feminine. It was clear how that doctor acted like a complete clutz when she was around that he still liked her. It seemed like she got everyone else's attention except him. As time passed Akane realized that she wasn't normal, just in time as if fate rumors of warriors spread.

HAWK

Spirit Essences || Enhanced Vision- Akane gained a helpful trait, being able to see from a long distance. Allowing her to see with amazing clarity/detail, distance, or color, perhaps even in a different spectrum of light or into another dimension. Also Enhancing her vision at night.

Predator Instinct- Akane possesses predatory instincts, allowing her to become a master of hunting and tracking. One of this ability can discern numerous factors of a situation that make her a master of pursuit and capture. This includes what move a foe will make, where they are headed (if the user is in the foe’s proximity, or knows the foe fairly well), as well as how to effectively cause a foe to play right into one’s hands in combat/pursuit.

Wing Manifestation- Akane has or is able to manifest wings that grow or are attached to the body allowing flight. She may also protect from rear attacks or detach and re-grow for quick getaways.
Spirit Armament || Akane clothing would change to a red traditional shirt laced with black, not much armor to protect from attacks. Her bottoms are cropped also laced with black very easy to move around in. Her shoes are flat and it's easy to run around in or fight without them flying everywhere.

Appearance
Wrinkled and gauntish. Yanagi has a topknot. He wears a shitagi lacking any mons. On his feet are a pair of wooden getas. He also normally wears a straw hat, which he constantly makes when a previous one is lost or damaged.

Personality
Patience. That is the one word Yanagi utters the most. He is a Ronin, wandering from town to town, looking for something. Even he does not know what he's looking for. However, on his travels, he is known to help those in need.

Equipment
  • Daisho: A paired Katana and accompanying Wakizashi

History
Has been walking the Warrior's Path for the last two decades as a vagabond. First accounts of him is when he introduced himself as Yanagi (Japanese for Willow), next to a willow tree.

Usagi - Also known as the Rabbit, the Usagi is quick on its feet. A tiny and unimposing creature, they are not meant for direct confrontation, and require not just skill but thoughtfulness in engaging their opponents.
  • Kaze (Passive) - Contrasting his age and passive personality, Yanagi is light on his feet with impressive speed.
  • Arashi (Active) - Sacrificing damage, Yanagi can attack multiple times in rapid succession, shredding his foes, effectively inflicting more damage.
  • Saratsuku (Active) - Yanagi can move at great speed almost as if he's teleporting in a line of roughly 8 meters. Before he activates Saratsuki, he prepares an attack, which can be read by the enemy so that they can prepare a counter or defense. He then swoops in with a single attack at great speed and distance, and can potentially follow up with using Arashi.
  • Kusanagi (Spirit Armament) - When activating his spirit abilities, Yanagi's katana takes the form of the legendary kusanagi, a bronze-age semi-legendary sword.

Personality - Patient, Aloof, Tranquil

There's nothing all too exciting about Kompira. Nothing can really peak his interests except a body of water, even then you won't catch him loosing his calm composure. In correspondence with water, going with the flow of things is just his way of doing things. You can try talking to him but he'd probably just ignore you, or respond in just a few words. It's weird but he somehow gets around in life doing it.

Appearance

Compared to others Kompira is a slender figure, with his skin seemingly of a pale complexion. On an almost day to day basis he's found wearing the same black gown and contrasting white kimono in the same unusual fashion.

Weapon - O Katana: An abnormally large version of your run of the mill katana. Using some sort of steel the weapon is the same color as that of a serene lake. Yet contradicting it's hilt has been roughly wrapped to allow a better grip.

History

As a child Kompira was an adventurous one, always happy to see something new, usually he'd do this by wandering down a river bank that wasn't always active. It was nearing the end of summer when the 'incident' occurred. Traveling farther down the river something in the water caught his attention. Slowly he creeped towards the edge, staring down at his reflection. Without warning the water splashed revealing a crocodile lying in wait, jaws spread open ready to clamp down on it's prey.

Black.

That's when it happened. The dream. Although being somewhat vague, the most memorable thing was a fox dancing around the backs of multiple crocs.
After the event, Kompira woke up on the water's edge with his clothes ripped to shreds. All the life and joy that was in him before seemed to be viciously ripped out.

Spiritual Essence

Furou (PASSIVE) - This ability allows Kompira to hold his breath for a very long time, and swim with great speed. This also allows him to camouflage within the very depths of the water.

Sousa (ACTIVE) - Water manipulation but on a smaller scale, for example body shields or somewhat weak spurts.

Taberu (ACTIVE) - Like the crocodile on the attack, Kompira can lash out with his weapon in rapid succession, ripping most soft things to shreds.

Spirit Armament - Suijin
The ultimate connection with water. Suijin enables the user to materialize water and bend it to their will. If in full mastery he can cause rain clouds to form and stir up even the calmest of lakes

Kangari Ittomasu
Name: Kangari Senjuro Ittomasu
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Personality:
Kangari is a rather weird guy.

There is seemingly nothing he cares about except food.
Despite his uninterested manor, he always helps people if they need help and will always ask if he can help and always puts his own wishes behind others'.

Kangari can't stand people who act all tough but run away when they have to fight and treats people like that as scum, but he has high respect for those who admit that they aren't really brave or strong but try to fight to protect something.

Although he seems like a "awkwardly nice" person, in battle, he uses every trick he can think of to win and plans every scenario through to the very end.
When angered, however, he will solely concentrate of exterminating the thing or person that angers him.

For his age, Kangari is rather small and light, being only 155cm tall and only weighing 40kg, but despite his fragile appearance, he's rather tough and also way stronger than he looks. Not too strong but stronger than he looks like.
Weapons/Equipment:
Murciélago is a Bokken made out of a very strong and durable wood that can even block usual swords despite being very light.

History:

Kangari has been born 5 weeks too early.
He was always smaller than other kids and everyone picked on him because of that.
Because of that, Kangari always wanted to be able to help other people.

He was just 15 when his parents both passed away because of a disease and soon after their death, Kangari lost his way and started to steal from people, completely discarding his ideals and wishes to help people, but a kind man who took him in pushed him into the right direction again.
That man, who was a man of knowledge about the battlefield and a man who knew how to wield a sword, gave Kangari Murciélago and taught him everything he knew about how to effectively beat your opponent in a short amount of time.

When Kangari got his Spirit Animal, it was like fate that he got the Mexican free tailed bat.

Kangari can see everything around him in an area of 6 meters as long as it makes a sound audible for him.

(Active)
By giving of a high pitched screech, Kangari can scan his surroundings in a radius of 100 meters for about 30 seconds.

High Speed-
(Active)
Like his Spirit Animal, Kangari can move with a very high speed, but a bit faster than his Spirit Animal.
When he runs straight, Kangari can reach a speed of about 240km/h tops.
When he needs to dodge or react, he can move at 105km/h, but overuse of that ability can cause severe muscle pain and exhaustion.
Kangari is able to run at his top speed for about 3 minutes non stop before his legs give up and he needs to rest for at least 30 seconds.

Nightpredator-
(Passive)
Kangari's strength and speed rise by 25% at night.

Spirit Armament:
"Invisible Super Sonic Nightpredator" Murciélago-
His Spirit Armament wields the same Name as his Bokken.
It engulfs his whole body in a pitch black steam and heightens his speed by 55% and his strength by 30% and makes him almost invisible when running at top speed or when running at night.
It also increases the radius of his Echo Sonar by 2 times.
However, he also get's lighter by 25% percent which makes him able to jump higher but also to be more vulnerable to hits.

Personality - Calm, Collected, Confident, Calculated, Ruthless, Cold, Fearless

Amara is calculated, intimidating, and cold individual. He does what needs to be done, and does it when nobody else does. He has been through extreme trauma and has lost many friends, making him develop a lone wolf personality. However, it has driven him to fear nothing. He is also very good an predicting his enemies movements, and can very effectively think the way they do. This also makes him extremely dangerous to both his enemies and comrades alike. He does not seek a battle, but does everything in his power to prepare for it

Appearance - Standing at 6'5 and weighing 192 pounds, Amara is an extremely intimidating individual, with most enemies backing away from just his height. His toned muscular body is riddled with scars from his many years of training and the numerous battles he has fought. His black hair is extremely long, reaching almost to his feet. His golden eyes burn through most peoples hearts, warding off most who challenge him.

Weapons/Equipment - The Shi no tsume
A family air-loom passed down through the generations. It is 6'5 blade and made by the most legendary blacksmith it history,Gorō Nyūdō Masamune. He inherited his weapon at the age of 15 and has used it ever since. He is a swordsman of the highest caliber

History -
Born on a small island of the coast of Takama-ga-hara, Amara was raised in a very rural home. His clan had lived on the island for generations, training constantly and bringing forth some of the worlds most dangerous assassins. And Amara was no different, especially since he was the son of the clan leader. while growing up, he was trained in many martial arts and mastering many of them at a young age. He was taught honor, bravery, and tenacity. He became a worthy successor at the age of 15, and was given the family blade. He had already surpassed his father and younger brothers in combat, academics, and leadership. But over time, his twin brother grew jealous of him, and great hatred was built up in his heart. It drove him mad, driving him to murder his entire clan. In the end, when he fought Amara, he was defeated, but Amara's life as he knew it was gone. Thats when he had the vision of the fox. He chose the tiger, since it was his clans symbol. And after giving his clan an honorable burial, he set out to Takama-ga-hara to meet his destiny

Spirit Essences

Menimienai (Active) This ability makes Amara hard to see, making his form like a thin cloud. This allows him to creep quietly in the night and makes him hard to see. In short, its a camouflage

Kemono (Active) This ability gives Amara superhuman strength. He is like a wild beast, and will manifest claws, fangs, and glowing tiger eyes when using this ability. In this state, he can easily punch through large tree trunks with ease, bend metals, and rip people to ribbons.

Sensu (Passive) This ability heightens some of Amara's senses, including his taste, touch, hearing, and smell. It also gives him a situational awareness. these senses are so heightened that if your in a 25 foot radius, he knows that your there.​

Spirit Armament - Hakai suru

In this form, a black armour forms around Amara, covering his entire body leaving no skin exposed. The armour is stronger than samurai armor and has claws and fangs, as well as red glowing eyes. His sword also becomes massive and heavy. Ai Fujito was born into a very poor village. She's a quiet and milquetoast girl. She barely had friends, actually. Her family was perfect. Sure, they had some flaws, but that's what made them perfect. Kimi Fujito was the best mother she had. She was a tailor. She gave Ai her pendant, an important necklace that was passed around in her family for generations. Apparently, it gives the owner "protection". Ai never believed in that, but she kept the necklace, since it was special. Her father, Yuuki Fujito, was a blacksmith. He was the best father, ever. She got her love of making stuff from Roy. Her sister, Ami, was the best sister ever. However, they were complete opposites. She was an outgoing and energetic child, while Ai was not. Everything was perfect, until the bandits attacked.

You see, Ai was playing with her sister with a few fireworks. Accidently, she lit a firework, making them visible to the bandits. The bandits saw the fireworks, and immediately chose that village to attack. The bandits stole food, money, etc. and kidnapped women and children to sell. Ami was actually a victim, and her parents pleaded and begged them not to take Ami.

They earned a dagger to the skull.

Ai was not a victim. In tears, she decided to avenge her family, and kill the bandits. She saw a bow and took some arrows from her father's office, and she decided to draw the string to kill them. She was unable to do so, after all, she was only thirteen. Instead, she decided to grab a katana from her father's room and stick it in their hearts. It was very heavy, but her determination to kill the bandits helped her. She decided to take them on by surprise. When they weren't paying any attention, she would run in and stab them.

It worked.

In tears, she was covered in blood, looking at the dead bodies. She started blaming herself for everything that happened. If only she wasn't playing with fireworks! If only she didn't take the protective necklace, she would've been dead and not her family. "It's all my fault!" she would cry. She remembered that day very well. She was traumatized over the event, and that she actually killed people.

A kind twenty-five year old man named Usui took her in. There, she was trained. She was trained many types of fighting techniques and such. He showed her how to fight with bows, knives, and swords. She soon got over her trauma, since she believed that Usui loved her, and she loved him. However, she still have a piece of that memory of that night in her head. She still believes that it was all her fault.

Because she loved him, she ran away two years after. Usui was such a kind man, yet he did not have enough money to even feed themselves. Heck, he could barely even feed himself. She didn't want Usui to suffer, so when she found out about it, she ran. She ran far and far, living as a homeless person.

No one looked for her. Not even Usui. She started to believe that he didn’t care if she fell and died in a ditch.

Once Ai ran away from home, she lived all over the place. She lived in many different villages and such. She even lived in the woods at times. She would hunt for her own food. She would even practice fighting by herself.

When she was seventeen years old, she had a dream. A dream of a beautiful and elegant fox.

Sexy Ears - This ability allows Ai to have enhanced hearing. Up to 3 feet away from the origin of a sound, she can pinpoint its location to within a few inches in a mere six one-hundredths of a second. Ai also can hear sounds at great distances — four or five times farther away than normal humans.

Ai's clothing will change into a crispy white, flowy furisode with a huge white bow, however, her furisode has a slit, which allows her to move around with stealth. She has a purple ribbon around her waist that allows her katana to fit right in. She's barefoot, because it's faster to be barefoot than to have shoes that slow you down. However, she has socks on, so she won't injure herself from a piece of wood or twig. In this form, she appears to be more alluring and seductive.

Personality - William doesn't quite know when to give up. Even when there seems to be no hope, he still manages to cling onto it and push forward. This has sometimes caused him trouble, but he considers it more of a blessing than a curse. He strives for perfection, living by his values and those of his lord and nation. He also has an unshakable faith in the gods of his land, though he does not let it interfere with his relationships with other people.

Appearance - As to be expected of a soldier, William is well built. He stands at an even 6' and has rather plain features, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Weapons/Equipment - William wears full plate armor and chainmail, impervious to any blade. He wields a bastard sword, capable of being used in one hand or two, and a heater shield. Not much else is to be found on his person, save for a pouch of worthless foreign coin and a talisman.

History - Up until a mere few hours ago, William lived a normal life- for a knight, at least. Never was he contacted by any spirits. He was born into a noble family and was essentially trained in the ways of combat and chivalry from birth. Some few years after being knighted, William was tasked with protecting his lord while he traveled overseas to a political wedding. He was on a magnificent ship for months, enjoying his life as a loyal warrior.

That is, until disaster struck.

It was the worst storm he had ever seen. Thick fog choked the vision of the sailors. Rain whipped the flesh of the crew. Howling winds tossed the ship back and forth, and lightning lit the deck ablaze. By the time he went topside to see the carnage and decide to take off his armor, it was too late. The ship slammed against sharp, jutting rocks, and William slid across the deck and overboard. He fell unconscious as soon as his head slammed against the mighty waves.

He awoke on shore hours later, greeted by the corpses of sailors and wreckage that washed up. It was a miracle that he had been washed ashore rather than sinking to the bottom of the ocean. His lord was nowhere to be found, nor any other survivors for that matter. He was alone- a stranger in a strange land, having no way to communicate with the locals. Still, he counted his blessings, electing to kneel and pray on the sandy beach while contemplating his next move, wrapped in seaweed and brine.

Weapons/Equipment - A simple bo staff, it has been reinforced with two metal spheres on both tips. Has lasted many years, a simple blade won't cut this in half.

History - It is a common thing in the Kussen family to start training in combat as soon as the children learn to walk, with Fennik it is no different.
He grew up in his family's dojo training for most of his life. One day he simply decided that he wanted more adventure in his life and set out to seek for it.
The night before he planned to leave, the dojo was burned by a group of bandits and most his loved ones killed in the process. He grabbed whatever weapon he could find and went up against the entire group.
When he wasnt lurking in the shadows and taking them out one by one he was fighting multiple bandits at once, seemingly never getting tired or even hit !
Once it was all over he fell to the ground in the middle of the destruction. When he woke up it was morning, and he had a strange dream about a kitsune or something of the sort.
Since then he has wandered the lands taking whatever jobs he could find to survive.

SPIRITUAL INFORMATION
Spirit Animal - The Snake is often considered a untrustworthy animal, ambushing it's enemies from the dark and stalking them until their venom works it's magic. They are often associated with lies and trickery, which they use to decieve their prey.
They are, however, not good at long confrontations, and prefer to start and end a fight as soon as possible.

Spirit Essences -
Snake's Fang: He can steal his opponent's energy with every hit he lands, this makes him stronger for a small period of time, but when that time is over he will suffer from weakness or even passing out based on how much energy he's stolen.
Venom Strike: Using the energy he's stolen, he can imbue his weapons or his fists with a powerful venom that can cause many effects from small weakness, to blindness or paralysis. Stronger effects cost more energy.
Cobra Stance: Fennik is already a talented fighter and has amazing reaction times and reflexes due to training, but this gives him a great boost on that regard which makes him nigh untouchable by less experienced fighters.

Spirit Armament - An armor made out scales forms around him, and his bo staff transforms into a naginata with a blade that is constantly filled with a potent, yet slow neurotoxin.
His armor is not as strong as a regular samurai armor, but allows Fennik to move more freely than one would.
The scales can change color in an instant, allowing him to camouflage and escape combat if that is the case.

Sueno cares about only one person, himself. His past, and current situation, has taught him to trust nobody, and to keep everyone at an arms length. He, like turtles, has hidden himself away inside of a cold, hard exterior with little to no cracks to try and pry open with your fingernails.

Though buried deep inside him is a good person. However, that side of him has hidden itself away, and rarely shows itself. The few times it does, it's always small acts. He would spare a few Mon to a beggar on the side of the road, allow a stray animal to stay with him for one night and then occasionally feed it, if he could. However, the harsh times he has found himself in has led to fewer and fewer of these incidents.

Yumi: A yumi is an asymmetrical bow found in Japan, with the upper limb much longer than the lower. A yumi bow is approximately two meters in length with a draw strength of 80 to 150 lbs. Sueno's is 233 cm's long with a draw strength of 110 lbs.
Iron bamboo arrow quiver: Self explanatory really. Arrows with a bamboo shaft and iron heads all together in a leather quiver. Arrows are about a meter in length, in accordance with his and his yumi's height.
Katana: Though he is trained to use it, the katana is his fall back weapon.
History -
Sueno, if that's even his real name, never gives the same story when talking about his past. Sometimes he's a ronin, his daimyo putting a bounty on his head for allegedly attempting to kill him. Another story and he's just a simple farmer's son that just happened to get his hands on a katana and learn how to actually use it. One thing remains clear, though, someone close to him always betrays him. Sometimes it's a family member, father, brother, etc. Other times it's a close friend that is envious of him.

What is clear is how he is now a wandering ronin, I suppose you could call him since he knows the way of the sword. A poor ronin, but a ronin none the less. One night he had a nightmare about a kitsune, but it was only that, a nightmare.

Born into a small village , Toru was named that due to his thick head and body despite his size. He has spent most of his life working on his family's farm in a rural land, handling the livestock, tending to his sick father, and paying taxes to the cruel lord Kazu Komaru. As the years rolled on, Kazu started to fancy his mother Ai and his sister Hana. Being unable to make them his concubines by wooing them with his many wares, Kazu opted for another, more devious strategy.

Kazu started to up their taxes. First, the cost went up every year. Then every month. Then, every day. His family worked harder and harder, even working his father to death, but eventually they couldn't take it anymore. Then Kazu stated an ultimatum. He would increase the amount of money, or Ai and Hana could come with him. While they appeared to resist, one night Toru woke up to find his mother and sister gone.

Toru was furious. In a show of spite, after selling all of his livestock, he set his house and all his crops on fire. he then set out with one mission. To find a Samurai. To learn their ways. And finally, to use that to bring Kazu to justice. He may not bee book smart or street smart, but he is determined.

Personality - Tsukiko is a bit odd. On the one hand, she's a bit of an optimist, trying to see the bright side of things, hoping others will choose to do the right thing, and trying to being a good person. On the other hand, she's also a realist, and knows that things are never black and white, that people are prone to doing whatever is easier if it doesn't negatively affect them, and that sometimes she can't afford to be a good person.

It's because of this that Tsukiko has a problem forming bonds with people beyond being friendly acquaintances. She's become used to distancing herself to the point that she does it without even thinking about it. She rarely, if ever, grows attached to people nowadays, though that's not to say she doesn't want to have bonds; she hates that she has problems growing attached, but she knows that, given her lifestyle, it'd be better to not get too fond of anyone for now.

Tsukiko believes in using as few resources possible to achieve a task, and it's because of this that she knows how to save money like a mad woman, though it's more that she's smart with her money rather than being greedy. She favors minimalist things in regards to comfort and conversation: she's just fine with only a cheap bedroll, and she prefers to speak without sugarcoating anything.

If anything, Tsukiko is a survivor, and she's prone to using very dirty tactics if she feels that it's necessary. She doesn't consider herself above much, and the only thing she never does is get others involved.

She also carries a wakizashi, a kusari fundo, a tanto, a kanabo, several small, unnamed knives, and a strange katana that she uses bandages, which are wrapped around the guard, hilt, and scabbard, to keep it from unsheathing at all.

History -

Tsukiko, for a good portion of her youth, had a fairly normal life. She was the optimistic little girl of a blacksmith who tended to her father's weapons and was learning how to use the forge. At ten, however, her father was given the honor of becoming the smith of choice for a samurai warlord named Itsuki Tadashi.

They were given a home of greater quality and a forge capable of halving the time needed to forge her father's weapons. Fast forward four years and Tsukiko was with her father, working in the forge, when an army of bandits attacked the Itsuki Clan's home for generations. While most of the bandits were slaughtered quickly by the far-better trained and equipped Itsuki Clan samurai, a few of them fled, and a few of them tried hiding in the forge, killing Tsukiko's father and taking her hostage. This failed miserably, as Tsukiko killed them herself in a rage with her father's kamisori (non-folding straight razor).

Tadashi took care of the child the best he could, but he knew, deep down, that the only thing that would help her was closure. In this case, closure came in the form of revenge.

For the next six years, Tadashi had Tsukiko educated in the ways of the warrior and of survival, including cooking rations (one week), hunting (three weeks), how to manage money (three days), and combat, both armed and unarmed (the rest of the time).

After she had become as skilled as she could without dedicating decades to a specific weapon, Tadashi informed Tsukiko of the location of the new bandit group that had been formed by the survivors of the ones who had attacked so long ago. Without a word, she left. After her revenge, she decided to go searching for something to do.

For the next four years, Tsukiko traveled the land, slaughtering any bandits she came across, and becoming a well-known bounty hunter. Until she dreamt a strange dream...

Tsukiko is much stronger than her slender frame would lend you to believe. She is capable of breaking apart stone and wood with little effort, and her endurance and pain tolerance is ridiculous: arrows fired by a normal person have a hard time getting further than two centimeters into her, and it doesn't really bother her beyond feeling like a poke. That, and her strength lets her run a lot faster than you'd think. She's far from the fastest, but she's faster than any regular person.

Sensi-bear-lity- (Passive/Active)

Tsukiko's senses have been augmented, and she can smell and hear far better than she used to.

She can pick out a person from a crowd just by listening to how they move and breathe, and she can identify most things by smell, including poisons, ingredients in a recipe, and plants. It is possible to trick her nose.

Sounds Like A Treat (Active)

Tsukiko grows claws on the tips of her fingers, and her strength goes from incredible to insane. She can lift and throw a fully grown bear like it was a toy. Using this for too long forces it to cancel and gives her a massive headache.

Spirit Armament - Bear Poncho

Tsukiko's Spirit Armament covers her poncho in brown fur and gives it a hood, which has ears and fur. While the Bear Poncho is active, Tsukiko goes into a trance-like state where she is far more aware of what is going on around her, to the point where she can feel the air being displaced behind her due to a sword being swung at her neck.

Creative when it comes to decision-making and is no stranger to risks, but this mindset is the reason she got so far. Eliza is generally quite serious unless she is certain of safety and dislikes taking leadership unless necessary due to the deaths of her comrades weighing heavy on her soul. Eliza hates leaving a job undone and has a sleeping problem, often devising back-up plans while sharpening, salvaging or repairing arrows

History - Eliza was originally a scout from a small country under the dominance of a much larger, more powerful kingdom that was quickly growing in power and size, trained in the ways of an archer by her mother in the woods by her home where she had Heaven's Calling bestowed upon her before she moved to the kingdom that had begun conquering a large number of areas and began working up through the ranks, making a name for herself through various feats, using unethical strategies and incredulous marksmanship.

Eventually, she became trusted enough in the ranks and was specially selected amongst a variety of other equally as reknowned fighters for a covert missions to take over and conquer a small portion of Takama-ga-hara to stake her homeland there in an attempt to get a foothold for the eventual conquering of the place.

This did not go to plan. Upon arrival, after they had set up camp and begun resting after the long voyage, they had been attacked by beasts and monsters the like of which they had never seen, demons. They were slaughtered mercilessly as they were caught off-guard and unprepared for such beasts. Eliza had been sharpening her arrows at the time as she simply couldn't rest so soon after landing, despite the sea-sickness and fatigue.

She escaped into the woods and has been attempting to survive through what was supposed to be a simple capture mission of a minor settlement. The monsters having shown her a side to the world she had never seen before, one of evil and trickery.

For those unfamiliar with a courtesan's ways, it would probably do you good to stay away from the thorn coated flower which is Kureha; partly due to the nature of her profession but also because of her, in general, vague persona.
While she's known to be a very well-behaved, eloquent and polite young lady she has also made it no secret that it's all lies. She rarely speaks the truth, as well as rarely expresses her real opinions, and seems to, most of the time, just go with the flow of things while making choices that will end up benefiting her.
That is regardless of what those choices might entail.
Nonetheless, there are still some people that insist on being around her which begs the question: is the person who sees opportunities in danger a fool or a genius? And is a passionate heart a weakness or an asset?


Appearance -
Kureha is undoubtedly beautiful according to the traditional beauty standards with her doll-like features and ivory skin. However, she also has a more western appeal to her through the voluptuous body and in general more mature looks.
In a sense, one could say that the difference between her human and oni appearance is that of between heaven and hell.

History -
"Long ago a powerful witch and female demon named Momiji lived in the mountains of Nagano prefecture. The story of her death takes place during the season of fall-leaf-viewing when groups of people would amass and hold festivals in the mountains under the falling red, orange and gold leaves. However, the story about how she came to be so feared and sought after is one that most doesn't know."

Cursed from birth she was, to live a life of isolation as the Momiji's reincarnation. A fate which her parents were well aware of and tried to prevent and was thus, punished.
At the age of 7, Kureha had already lost everything she had ever known. But a demon harbours no feelings lest they want others to share their suffering. So she set out, a little child all alone, on a journey of loneliness with no end to it.
Nowadays she can be found working as a courtesan in the capital, Ashikaga.

Special ability

Fire Manipulation
As the reincarnation of Momiji, Kureha has gained the ability to manipulate pre-existing fire in her vicinity as well as create flames seemingly out of thin air. As one might suspect, she's also invulnerable to fire.

Transformation
Momiji was a witch as well as a female demon that disguised herself as a human.
It is safe to presume that while beautiful in the human form, she was considerably weaker.

Personality: Ryo is cold, silence and stoic. He hardly speaks unless spoken to directly and even then he gives short and often vague answers. He is very direct and brutally honest when he does have something to say. He seems to lack any sense of empathy as the plight and pain of others has no effect on him. He kills ruthlessly and indiscriminately. Willing to kill anyone or anything regardless of age, gender or species. He doesn’t show much emotion and when he does it’s usually anger. Ryo does not intimidate no matter the odds he faces. He remains calm to near expressionless in both victory and defeat.

Alternatively to his warrior-esk persona. Ryo doesn’t understand social queues and when he attempts to interact with the populace this becomes very obvious. He might say, ask and do strange things without knowing any better. He was sheltered for a large portion of his life and doesn’t understand his own culture or other people very well. He also has emotions but was taught not to express them and therefore he struggles to communicate. This usually causes him to react to negative attention with violence rather then words and he is unsure how to react to positive attention at all.

He is very naive about the world around him which (depending on the person) can be annoying or endearing. Unlike most in the Samurai class he was never properly educated so doesn’t know how to read or write.

Appearance: Ryo is surprisingly tall and that is usually the first thing people notice about his appearance. He stands at around 6’3 leading many to believe he has some foreigner blood. He is athletic in build and his muscles are toned/well defined when visible. His size makes him an imposing sight. That coupled with his red eyes tend to keep would-be-opponent at bay. His hair is long, black and hangs at his waist. Unlike most Samurai Ryo seems to prefer to wear his down. His skin his fair, scarless and when fully clothed he can appear very feminine/Bishōnen

Duel Katana: Ryo typically carries two long katana that remain unnamed. He has no personal attachment to his weapons and thus will sometimes do actions in battle to lose them then simply replace them. Often taking any sword from any dead opponent within reach. He is never without two on his hip. He will sometimes use both at the same time for difficult opponents but more often then not will only use one.

Hand to hand: Ryo is not only a master swordsman but also a master of most regional martial arts. He has turned his entire body into a weapon and can switch combat styles in an instances when dueling hand to hand. He is adept enough that he can usually fight off armed opponents with only his hands.

Not really a weapon but this seemed the best spot to add this. Ryo is skilled in analysis and mimicry. In both sword skills and martial arts he usually learns new techniques by stealing them from his opponents. He can watch a technique preformed and pick up on it well enough to utilize it himself.

History: As a small child Ryo was abandon by his parents whom were both in the farmer class and to poor to raise children. The local Samurai class population was low and the regional daimyo was afraid of losing his land and thus decided to take children (orphan or sometimes not) from his people to train as fighters. If they showed talent or promise it came with a chance to enter the Samurai class. Ryo was taken off the streets at the age of 6 for this purpose.

The Daimyo however didn’t treat these kids as if they might some day be Samurai and rather he ran a bit of an experiment on them. He wanted strong mindless fighters he could order to do anything his heart desired with little thought or protest. It was true most Samurai where extremely loyal to their Daimyo but he wanted more then that. He wanted to make sure these warriors would know no life that wasn’t the one he gave them. They would be undoubtably loyal thanks to their total dependence on him.

They were abused, starved and neglected severely. They lacked real education so that it was harder to be defiant. The Daimyo had brought in the best sword masters and martial arts he could afford to drill the techniques into them. Ryo stood out among the children thanks to his ability to learn quickly and become a favorite.

Ryo spent his young life in near slavery to his Daimyo and was treated/trained a lot harder then the others. Until one day another one of the children (now young adult) began to believe Ryo could kill their master and thus set them free. Over the next several months Ryo was slowly convinced to do the deed by the other slaves and he did. He killed everyone in the building and surrounding area setting them all free. The kids now split and that left Ryo without a master and without the skills to take care of himself.

Lost and confused he ended up wandering into a neighboring Daimyo territory. The new daimyo, after learning of what Ryo had done to his rival, took him in and the environment was much better. This Daimyo raised Ryo’s status to Samurai officially. Ryo spent the next several years here going to war for his new master. Sadly his new daimyo was struck with sickness and passed. The man who replaced him decided to weed out those that had been loyal to the previous and that included Ryo.

He was then forced to repeat his actions so Ryo killed those members of his new family who sought his death. Now being masterless once again Ryo roams the country doing as he pleases and gaining infamy as a monster or demon because of his violent killing nature. He has a sizable bounty on his head. However while Ryo has done some terrible acts since becoming a ronin the people make habit of telling stories of him and he has garnered credit for more misdeeds then he has actually committed.
