History: Ryo was born to a family of fishermen, growing up the oldest of three children. While her younger brothers took after their father and uncles, Ryo became much more interested in the soldiers walking around town, eventually leaving her family to serve as a samurai. However, early on in training, the instructors noticed Ryo had a natural affinity for the naginata, and her training was shifted to focus on the polearm. She eventually came to be recognized for her skill wielding the naginata, earning the nickname "Water Dancer" after challenging and beating one of the generals in a duel.
While she was well known as a fierce warrior, Ryo had a soft side. She often meditates when left with nothing to do, and many praise her for her generosity. She even taught several children how to swim. The gentleness earned her a reputation among villagers, and many would offer her a place to rest should she be traveling.

In light of the coming war, Ryo feels mostly remorse. With war comes injured soldiers and displaces civilians, and though Ryo enjoys fighting for sport, war is something else entirely. Despite her reservations, she will defend the Second Hoshidan Prince with her life, and will kill for him if required.

- Red straight hair, slightly shorter than shoulder length. Normally worn in a small ponytail.

- Her face is long and sharp, with a somewhat small nose and full lips. While she appears to be bored most of the time, she is merely lost in thought or meditating.
- Everyday outfit is simple shirt and slacks, while her combat armor is traditional samurai armor minus the helm.
