Man, born from Dust, was strong, wise, and above all else, resourceful. However, the world that he was born to was cruel and unforgiving. Along with the life birthed by the force known as Dust came an inevitable force of darkness. These creatures, the destructive beings of Grimm, set their sights on man and all that he would come to create.

The two forces of light and darkness clashed, the latter firmly intent on returning the former to the void from whence it came. However, a spark of hope, no matter how small or insignificant it may have been, was able to ignite the blazing fire of change. In time, this spark born from man's cunning, ingenuity, and resourcefulness, would allow the odds of the chaotic war to become even. This spark found in the cold, cruel night of chaos was appropriately named Dust, the source of their life itself.

With the very forces of nature within their grasp, man lit their way through the darkness. The shine of this light would lead to the fading of the destructive forces that plagued them and in their absence came the gift of civilization and most importantly, the freedom of life out of the shadows.

All that remained in the aftermath was aptly named Remnant, the world in its entirety. Kingdoms and continents alike followed suit, expanding the forever growing force of life. Born from that small spark, peace was known for the first time.

However, even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die. When the inevitably light goes out, darkness will return.
