Fantasy Ruins of Tregia - Settings/Locations

Exanis

He Who Sees E's
Greia

Greia, the southern kingdom, once known as an impenetrable fortress in it's entirety. Based within the vast mountains, it was well known for both, it's overwhelming export of metals, as well the natural defense that it provided. Due to this richness of metals and minerals, it was not uncommon to hear that the smiths within the lands found their way here. With their works becoming a thing of legend, it is no wonder that warriors of high a higher caliber resided here as well. This is the soul that crafted the region that has seen brighter days.

Being based within the mountains, only steeled veterans could properly call this kingdom 'home'. However, seeing as it was a key location of defense and mineral alike, there is little to ponder on how it thrived. Due to the nature of the land, the people are quite set in their ways, determined to make a life out of what they hold with their own hardwork. When things don't seem to piece together, they always manage to find a way to get it done. They care not for how others view them, for the fact that they are capable of surviving these lands is enough to value. With structures built of thickened stone to endure the elements, even the architecture gives off the jaded edge.

Unfortunately however, this kingdom is being consumed by darkness. Even the King has cut communications with it's neighboring lands, leaving it shrouded in mystery. They say that the people are becoming more on edge, withdrawing themselves whilst acting more belligerently to those who do dare approach. Creatures are lurking there, ones that reach far beyond the monsters that inhabit the lands. As they feed and grow, the people within the kingdom can only become more afraid, which seemingly fuels the darkness further. Plague is rising within the towns, and even tamed animals are becoming rabid. Everyday death is a common topic, none capable of explaining the occurrences in fear that it's mention will enable it to consume more. This place was once known for holding legends of Dragons, but now there is only the Darkness.

Kiltma

Kiltma, the eastern kingdom of the land, also known as the land of Unity. It's region consists of rolling plains, stretching on in a youthful green until it at least hides below the shadows of the forests. The land is rich, so fertile that there is no lack of produce. Further blessing the land, is a wider range of creatures, including those that can be domesticated and used as livestock. Not only is this kingdom gifted by the land, but it also holds the most readily armed forces. As a land of flourishing wealth, it is a place of little strife.

Blessed with the beauty of the land, the kingdom itself attracts many who simply seek a peaceful life. As well, those who would readily stand to protect said peace. Beyond the farmers, are the knights that stand to keep the lands safe. With such ties, it is not uncommon for the people to go above and beyond for one another. However, to maintain such peace, the kingdom practically demands order. Those within it are well disciplined, capable of acting upon bravery at a moments notice, whilst also being strictly chastised for any potential misdoings. As such, crime and disobedience comes with difficulty. This is due to the fact that the Kingdom's ruler and advisers directly work with the people.

During recent years, the Kingdom of Kiltma has abandoned their relations with Greia, due to their peculiar behavior. However, they do hold firm to their trade agreement with their sister kingdom, Sao'reien. With minimal port, it allows for the two to trade freely, which in turn allows for greater growth. As for Trythmore, relations are somewhat shaky. As a kingdom of order, discipline, and trust, they have a difficult time with Trythmore's more underhanded tactics. However, in hesitance they still do offer a hand in their neighbors efforts.

Trythmore

Trythmore, the northern kingdom, known for both greed and talent. Centralized within the deserts, the kingdom is scorned between the harshness of the land as well the creatures working within. However, near it's southern / eastern borders there is in fact Highlands. But, perhaps the most defining feature of the kingdom is the ever present black market, as well the thief dens that are riddled about. Supposedly, even the king holds little power within the land due to the swelling underground. However, amongst those who are otherwise underhanded, there is undeniable talent of craftsmanship.

Those that inhabit Trythmore are often found aggressive. This is due to presence of thieves, as well as the monsters stalking within the deserts. It is said that even the King controls an order of assassins, probably to make up for the fact that the kingdom has the smallest military presence amongst the four. Never the less, the people of Trythmore survive the elements they are given. Seeing as most are bent on greed, there are others that shine within the world of craftsmen, seeing this place as one of opportunity.

Renowned fighters have also risen from this place, seeing as conflict is practically unavoidable in this place. Rather than a place of refined technique, every man stands as his own in terms of natural talent. From here you can find some of the most famous mercenaries that traverse the land.

Relations with the neighboring countries are mildly difficult, given the peoples nature. However, those found within Sao'reien show a vast interest in the works from the talented craftsmen, practically to the point that they are beyond the general mood of the place. Kiltma however, holds a conflicting view of politics which potentially hurts their relations. Luckily however, there are those that still seek the skill of the fighters within Trythmore, as well, those within Trythmore that look to Kiltma for assistance.

Sao'reien

Sao'reien, the Western Kingdom, also known as the kingdom of the sea. Nestling against the land's borders, this kingdom has free reign over the open waters. It's nature is nearly tropic, allowing those within it to share a common gentleness that matched the waters. And though this place was known for it's open commerce, there was the ever present dangers that came out of such free trade. Riches have made their way through Sao'reien, though not all have entirely found fortune. Luckily, even those that hold no wealth find peace within this kingdom.

Within the kingdom, the people are seen as patient. After all, they have always worked with others and bargained for what they desired. It's building are made from wood and stone, though not thick enough to create a sense of fortification, they do seem to hold their own during a passing storm. One might think a place of leisure would never grow, however it is that very feeling that placed this kingdom at the heart of trading. Through their military, which was seemingly lacking, they could attempt to counter the black market, whilst respecting those of legitimacy. However, there was the threat of piracy, as the open waters practically begged thieves to take advantage of the isolation. But nevertheless, with the world's largest fleet, it was still somewhat secure.

Trade is an ongoing theme in Sao'reien's relations. Sticking to good terms with all of her neighbors, other than of course Greia which barred itself off. Not only do they export their delicacies found within the sea life, but also their medicinal knowledge.
