Appearance: Roy is a 5' 10" african american boy. He has short cropped hair and dark brown eyes that are typically behind glasses. His outward apearance is usually pretty lax in baggy pants and a t-shirt.

Personality:
Roy can be a bit of a handful until you get to know him. Because of his rougher background, Roy doesn't typically like people when he first gets to know them. He regards many with suspicion and is slow to trust. If he gets angered, he wont back down until he has either won, or is laying on the ground unconscious. Behind this facade of "tough as stone" attitude, Roy is actually a really sweet guy. He has a great love for animals and children, and once befriended will fight till the bitter end for his compagnions.
Background:
Roy's background is not overly complicated or underwhelming. He was born in a big city to a poor family. The first and last of a single mother, Roy's mother was already struggling to get by when Roy was born. Afterwards, things got even harder for her. She worked 3 jobs that alternated throughout the week and weekend, and one job during the nights. The life was hard, but it was what had to be done so that they could survive. Because of his mother's extremely busy schedule, Roy stayed with the neighbors a great deal during his childhood. Another single mother family, the grandmother of the family would stay and watch over the 3 little ones, including Roy. The two other boys, Leo and Shawn, were a bit more of trouble makers than Roy was.
When the boys where old enough, they began sneaking out of the apartments when their grandmother was napping. They began hanging out with a rougher crowd, a crowd Roy didn't care much for but was sucked into none the less. They would get into fights, commit petty crimes like stealing and vandalism, and a few of the older boys got into drinking.
During the times when Roy would get to see his mother, they would spend time together reading and taking small trips in the city. Roy prefered to spend time with his mother than with his friends, but she would always have to go back to work and Roy would return to his friends.
During one of his afternoons where his friends had convinced him to skip school, he found that they where planning on stealing from a convenience store on the other side of the city. They wouldn't let Roy live it down if he bailed on them, so Roy tagged along agreeing to be lookout. When the boys arrived, Roy stood across the street in an alleyway watching the streets for any signs of trouble. While the boys inside loaded their pockets, Roy saw through the window that Leo had been caught by a young girl at the back of the store. Leo struck the girl sending her to the ground so she would not bust them. Having seen what Leo did, Roy entered the store and confronted Leo, who immediately turned on Roy. As the two began to scuffle in the back of the store, the manager called the police and the rest of the group disapeared. Roy was left behind, a bit bloody, but having dealt his fair share of damage to Leo. After the cops came and questioned Roy and the girl, they took Roy home to his waiting mother. As he rode home, Roy vowed that he would not let people like that push him around like they had. He would stand up to people like them so that people like the girl didn't get hurt.
