It was a day just like any other...well, for a Yokai, at least. The sun rose up high above the sky, it's blue hues dotted here and there with white puffy streaks of clouds. Today is March 1st, 2017, and for some, it would be just like any other day. For others, it would be a day they would never forget....

Siegfried Nadashi
images-58.jpg

Siegfried stood at the road leading out of his neighborhood, a black duffel bag hung over his shoulder, and wearing some khaki pants, brown dress shoes, a white button up shirt with a red tie, and his usual brown bomber jacket. He whistled lightly as he stared at the bus sign next to him, lightly wiping a film of sweat away from his forehead, and scratching the back of his sandy blonde hair. He took another moment to fix his outfit; this was the usual Yokai Academy get-up, save for his jacket, and he wanted to look presentable on his first day as a Senior. People looked up to him after all, a fact he was proud to admit to. He had always liked being the one people went to for help, even if he didn't say it out loud.
The sound of a bus pulling up knocked him out of his reverie. The old yellow school bus with no name on it's side opened its doors to reveal a strange looking driver, with a hat that covered his glowing eyes and smoking a cigar. He laughed, not looking away from the street. "Ready for another year, kid?" he asked, a grin forming on his face. Siegfried smiled and rolled his eyes as he stepped aboard. "You know it, sir. I'm gonna make this year count!" replied Siegfried, happily taking his usual seat at the back of the bus. He placed his duffel bag into the empty space beside him and zipped a pocket open, taking out a phone and a pair of headphones. Quickly popping them in and selecting a song, he stared out the window and watched as the scenery moved past him at a rapid rate, and then disappeared as they entered a tunnel, the primary way to find your way to Yokai Academy. When they exited and Siegfried was not greeted by the customary red ocean and mountains with a spooky forest, he smiled. This could only mean one thing; they were picking up some more students. Who knows, maybe even some freshmen! He laughed lightly to himself; It was always amusing to see the freshmen stumble around on the first day, but it gave Siegfried plenty of time to guide them to where they were supposed to be. He closed his eyes, the smile on his face not faltering as he waited for the bus to stop and pick up their next victim...

Chuck Saedor Ward
Today was just a day like any other...

Chuck smiled blankly into space, blinking every so often. Yep. Normal, carefree day. He wasn't standing at a bus stop OUTSIDE of his home. He wasn't dragging along a duffel bag and a school bag. And he CERTAINLY wasn't worried about messing up at a prestigious school and making a bad name for Americans, or better yet, foreigners everywhere. Because that wasn't what normal people do on normal days like this. So, instead, he just stood in silence, still and stiff as a board...

And slowly, the shaking began.

Before long, he started to visibly sweat. Thankfully, his parents had bought him custom shirts that somehow prevented embarrassing sweat stains. He shakily pushed up his glasses before slowly crouching. He then sat on the ground before hugging his knees and rocking back and forth...all while still holding that same blank smile...he was going to die here. He was going to die OUTSIDE. The concrete jungle. The domain of mother nature herself. He didn't want to die yet. He had so much to do! Reach level 80 on his favorite MMORPG, finish reading his collection of this card game Manga he liked, finally learn how to bake a loaf of bread without nearly burning the kitchen! He let out a shaky sigh. Al-Alright, Chuck. Calm down! Yo-You still had some time to...collect your thoughts and-

OH! GOD!

Seeing the bus head his way just down the street, he quickly scrambled upward and grabbed his luggage, fixing himself up before standing straight. This was it! His carriage of Doom and Humiliation. When it pulled up, he pursed his lips as the door opened, shaking and sweating harder at the sight of the bus driver. Breathing heavily, he put his foot forward and stepped up into the bus....quickly falling into the bus floor afterwards. Face beat red and dignity severely lowered, he quickly stood up and zoomed for a seat in the middle, gloomily looking out the window with a bruise on his forehead.

...He was definitely gonna die here.

Katerina stood at the bus stop with her siblings, fingers tugging nervously at the bottom of her brown and gold plaid skirt. The school's uniform always felt too short to her, but her little sister felt differently. Said freshman reached over and slapped her hands away from tugging at the skirt, similarly green eyes meeting hers in challenge. Before the girls could start to argue, the familiar, unmarked school bus came into view down the road, slowing to a stop in front of the Metaxas siblings. Leonidas took Anastasia's hand with a wink at Katerina, and when the doors for the bus creaked open, led the way on. Though their parents had asked her to keep an eye on their little sister, Leonidas had volunteered to make sure she got onto school grounds safely as soon as they were out of earshot. As they stepped onto the bus, the driver greeted the trio with a sharp smile.

"Another one, eh?" he teased with a nod to Anastasia.

"The last of us, sir," Leonidas confirmed with a grin, tugging his sister towards a seat in the front of the bus.

Offering the bus driver a smile in lieu of a verbal greeting, Katerina hurried to a seat closer to the back of the bus, grateful that she was able to tuck away her wings and make sitting inside easier. There was a sandy-haired student at the very back of bus, and she vaguely recognized him as someone in her brother's year. A senior, then, his eyes closed and a smile on his face. Maybe he was sleeping - she didn't want to disturb him, and so she sat on the opposite side of the aisle a couple of seats ahead of him. This was her second to last year at Yōkai Academy, and she was eager to be one step closer to graduation; that didn't mean she was any more keen on socializing, though. She set her backpack in her lap, the imitation ocean colours complimenting her teal uniform jacket nicely, and watched as Greece disappeared behind them. The tunnel would take them to the academy, or, depending on when they were picked up, to another neighbourhood or country to pick up more students. When they entered the light again, it wasn't the eerie grounds of the academy, which confirmed Katerina's suspicions that they were rather early in being picked up this year. She hadn't figured out any sort of pattern as of yet to being picked up, although Leonidas had suggested at one point that the driver was just aware of anyone waiting at their designated stop. Seeing as no one really knew anything about the bus driver, she wasn't going to rule his theory out just yet.

At the very least, Katerina had a seat to herself for now, which was nice. No need to pull out her notebook to talk to anyone, or have any freshman around to explain - yet again - that no, she didn't speak, and yes, she communicated through writing. There was a possible freshman sitting near the middle of the bus, and while she had felt bad passing him so quickly, she wasn't up for trying to communicate with someone so clearly new. He'd even looked like he had already sustained an injury, based on the redness to his face, and if she had recognized him she would have offered to help. Instead, with the intention to pass time productively, Katerina pulled out a medical book that her father had gotten her for the new year. This one was specifically about yōkai, detailing different kinds of transformations that humans could go through because of them. Fascinating things, really, although most of them couldn't be treated. Drastic measures that neither her healing magic nor modern medicine could match.

Siegfried Nadashi
images-58.jpg

Siegfried opened an eye ever so slightly as he felt the bus stop for the first time. The outside consisted of many tall buildings; It must be some popular city of some sort. The doors opened and a boy he had never seen before stumbled inside, falling face first into the rubber floor. Siegfried instantly felt sorry for the boy; he was obviously very nervous, and it didn't help that the bus driver openly chuckled at the kids fall. The boy quickly found a seat two rows ahead of Siegfried and sat down without a word. Siegfried shook his head ever so slightly, but he didn't move from his seat. He would comfort the kid, but not just yet; He wanted to know if they were on the way to the academy or not.
The bus lurched forward again, and they were off. One ride through a tunnel later, and they were in a country that was very...green. The countryside was a vibrant mix of green and brown, and as they drove, trees of all kinds filled his view. He had seen this view four times before; this was where he first met Leonidas, during his freshman year. He had been looking to make friends as fast as possible, and sadly, poor Leo was one of the only kids on the bus. That meant he was subjected to a young Siegfried's constant questions about his life and how it was like in Greece. As the bus came to the stop, sure enough, in stepped Leonidas along with his third year sister, Katerina.
An odd one, Katerina was. From what he was able to gather from from Leo, she was a Siren, and a mute. Her muteness was by choice, however; for the other kids' safety, Leo had said. Indeed, Siegfried was sure of that; the fight she had with that Harpy was talked about for half a year after it happened. Even with the two high in the air, when she spoke, Siegfried had to turn his ears to Crystal to prevent them from hurting much more.
Another girl marched after them, one he had never seen before. She looked a little like Katerina; another sibling, then? Leo hadn't mentioned another sibling. Siegfried smiled; He envied them. He wished often that his younger siblings were only a bit older, so that they too could go to school with him, but alas, the twins were only twelve, and he would be gone by the time their freshman year rolled around. He sighed as the bus began to move forward and into another tunnel.
Pausing his song and placing his equipment back into his pack, he watched as Leo and his youngest sister sat down, Katerina taking a seat across and a row down from Siegfried. At this point, Siegfried smiled as he stood up and silently walked to the seat behind the freshman, and put his elbows on the top of his seat, supporting his head with his hands. He turned to Katerina with a laugh.
"Check it out, Katerina! A grade-A greenie! Haha!" he said, very nonchalantly. Sure, he didn't really know her that well, but that didn't mean he couldn't try to involve her and get to know her a little more. And what better when than a little lower-classman teasing?
"You feeling okay, dude? That was one heck of a fall you took earlier. Nothing broken or missing, right?"
He spoke down to the freshman in a sincere manner, his usual smile occupying his face. He spoke in English, the most common language used at the Academy, just in case the guy didn't understand any Japanese.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The golem's address startled Katerina, hands fumbling to catch her medical textbook as she turned to look at... Siegfried! She remembered his name now that he was looking at her, his green eyes dancing as he teased the freshman. Unable to not return his smile, she tucked her textbook away and pulled out her notebook, quickly scribbling down a response in English. With her backpack slung securely over her shoulder, she shuffled up towards the middle of the bus, sitting across from Siegfried to look at the freshman across the aisle. Sure enough, it looked like he'd be getting a nasty bruise - maybe even a bump - where he had apparently hit something. It seemed like an awful lot of damage to take from a fall, but she supposed she couldn't judge.

'He looks a little more red than green, you know.' She held out her notebook for Siegfried to read with a smirk, although the angle allowed for the freshman to read it as well. Pulling it back once it seemed that they had both had adequate time to read it, she added something else for the student she had been roped into speaking with. Her brother could give her an earful later for picking on a freshman - she may as well have fun with it for now. 'At least the bus is pretty empty right now. Not too many witnesses.'

Katerina had decided early on not to ignore her peers when they engaged her, and although she would've been happy to ignore the freshman, Siegfried could just as easily explain why she was writing things down rather than saying them. Between the allure of her voice and the strength of it, the last thing she wanted was to hypnotize or hurt someone on accident. The earth golem across from her was another S-class yōkai, unlikely to be affected greatly (if at all) by either aspects, but she didn't know anything about the new student other than the fact that he had tripped, and Siegfried had seen it. What an awful first impression to make; the boy looked nerdy enough with his bow tie in place of the regular tie for the uniform.

Al-Alright, Ward! Wasn't th-that bad, Right? Pursing his lips, he rubbed at the bump and winced in pain. N-No one was saying anything, so that meant only the bus driver saw him do that, Right? Looking at the scenery outside the window, he took deep calming breaths. Well, he was on the bus now...he was actually doing this. At this thought, he looked down at his shoes and put a hand to his face. God, if he didn't fit in before, Imagine what would happen here. The only hint Japan he'd ever seen was in anime, and comparing Japan to anime was like comparing a funeral to an amusement park. He didn't even speak that well of Japanese! He and his mother literally had a cram session on Japanese before he left...once he got out of her snake-like hug. Shaking his head, he looked back out the window. We-Well, he wasn't at the school yet. So at least he had some peace before his upcoming ridicul-

"Hey, Check it out, Katerina! A Grade-A Greenie! Haha!"

God, kill him now!

Eyes wide, he resisted the urge to whirl around and instead slowly turned to see a guy sitting behind him, elbows on the seat. Hearing some shuffling beside him, he turned to see a girl who had picked a seat across from him. He blinked as he watched her write something down before holding it up...and blushing. Mo-More red then green? He felt his face and felt himself blush all the harder when he felt how hot it was. This was why god didn't kill him before. To give him the full course now. The next words the girl wrote caused him to hastily push up his glasses. H-He guessed that was something good. And they knew English..whether that was good or bad, he didn't know. Hearing the guy ask him if he was okay, Chuck shrugged and looked down with a sort of pout, not noticing the boy's smile to see it wasn't a joking question.

"Uhm...I'm fine. Ju-Just a-a bu-bump."
He answered, eye twitching at his stuttering. Great. Now they heard him stutter too. Now they knew for sure he was weird. Yeah, the girl wrote in a notebook to taught, but that wasn't embarrassing at all. She probably NEEDED to speak that way. With an inward groan, he wondered on what he should do now. Stay quiet and ignore them...? No. That was rude.

'Ya know, Wood-Chuck, sometimes a nice ol' greeting turns things around! Nobody'll tease a guy with a chipper Hello!"

He thought back to what his father said before he left, and gulped. We-Well, what did he have left to lose? He looked up at the guy before turning to the girl and looking away.
"Uhm...My name's Ch-Chuck Wa-Ward." He nearly muttered, but stayed moderately loud enough for the both of them to hear. "I-I'm from america...but I guess th-that's no-not re-really something to care ab-about." He finished, just muttering at the end as his face was tomato red.

Hera flapped her wings through the sky, the young fairy's fine body radiated across the sky. Her wings, extremely large and fold-able, flapped at incredible speeds. She was, after all, one of the fastest of her kind. And was also, one of the first of her kind to join, what had er mother called it? Yokai Academy. The school for monsters, beasts, vampires, werewolves, angels, golems, and everything around and in between.

She didn't exactly dislike the idea of being in the Academy, but more of loathed the thought of leaving her home alone with those two demons from hell, sent to make her world a hellbent horror story. Yes, she spoke of her two little siblings. Jupiter and Pluto, their parents had a serious thing for Greek and Roman mythology.

Hera landed onto the ground in front of the bus, the last bus stop, with her bag around her shoulder as her wings retracted and folded back. She tried to let out a smile, but ended it quickly as she thought it not needed. She did, however, increase the gravity output on herself to the ground, so when she stepped onto the bus, it would tilt over.

The bus driver stopped her, shaking his head. "No." Hera blinked, shocked. He had a good eye to have spotted her already. She returned to normal, stepping forward as she looked among the students in the bus. "God this place is empty." she spoke in the smallest whisper as she grabbed an empty seat, sliding into it and turning her body to rest her legs onto the rest of the chai.

Rex Cult
Rex was waiting at the last bus stop for the bus to arrive. It was in a small town not far from a huge mansion, were his father worked and a powerful vampire lived. Rex was holding his sup case over his shoulder with one hand while checking his phone for something. As he did so a Yokai with wings, maybe a fairy, landed just as the bus showed up. "...Show off..." Rex said under his breath as the fairy walked onto the bus.

Rex got on right after the fairy. "Hows your father?" The bus driver asked as Rex got on.

"Still working for a greedy as hell man" Rex said not even looking at the bus driver before walking down the bus close to the back. He passed by the few others on the bus, namely the golem, siren, and a new kid he had no idea about. ...I didn't pag the big man as the type to pick on newbie... But judging by the fact the guy's red he is... I guess the summer changed him a little... Rex thought to himself as sat down in the back of the bus.

Marilyn Drayton

Marilyn Drayton smiffed the air around her, her large enchanted cave was filled with gold, diamonds, jewels, anything you could imagine as she lifted her white head from the pillow of her belongings. "There are many creatures upon that bus, but my decision is final, I am to attend this school and learn more about the world around me," Marilyn stood up and walked forwards on her hall fours, minding the roof of the cavern and the dilapidated ruins of the former England, heading to the front of her cave, her body shrunk. The white being shed, and a human body of a girl appearing instead. She was completely human for now, it was best if she kept her dragon-self away, for she might engage in a rigorous duel and lose her status.

After walking away from the entrance, her cave seemingly changed into a very old building, with warnings saying gas malfunctions and the likes. Seeing a girl here would be quite strange but she had no more time to think about it before the vile bus pulled up on the grass, there was no road here. "Ma,'am," he gave a small tap of his cigar before leaning into her as she stood on the metal construction. "Got a top from ye' pile of coins?" He pulled his hat down a little before Marilyn swiped him away.

"Leave me be fool, off limits," the girl walked down the aisle, looking at those who had been acquainted with already and sat at the back, it would be easier to sniff scents, feelings and all things galore, it was tactical to say the least. She dubbed it her 'spot' besdies from the lingering stench of that boy to her right which was his. This was her first time at this Academy. Yokai? She'd heard about it for years, knew the magical areas of the world but this one seemed the better option and it wasn't in the UK. The girl sighed as she looked at her body, it would do for now she guessed but she truly did look like a human. The bus pulled out of the UK and whizzed to another place.

Siegfried Nadashi
images-58.jpg

Siegfried let out a light, carefree laugh as he read Katerina's response, and looked to the freshman. "Hoo boy, you're getting spit-roasted! Haha!" he said, gently patting his back as he listened to his brave, albeit quiet, response. His smile returned, and a small chuckle came from his throat as he placed a hand on the boy's head and ruffled his hair. He couldn't help himself doing that sometimes; it was a moment that he saw someone do something they obviously didn't want to do, or was uncomfortable with. "I like you kid. I think you'll do just fine here. I'm Siegfried Nadashi. The quiet girl over there is Katerina Metaxas. She can speak, but she chooses not to, for all our safety. I'm a Senior, she's a Junior. Stick with us kid, and we'll make sure Yokai Academy doesn't eat you alive." He flashed Chuck a winning smile and a thumbs up, before he turned his attention to the front if the bus, which had decided to tip over. Some arguing occurred, and on stepped a girl he had never seen before. He gave her a friendly wave, but she seemed to be absorbed with something else, as she merely sat down at a seat in the front. Siegfried raised an eyebrow, but he didn't pursue it futher.
Following right after her was a student he actually did recognize this time; Rex Cult. Siegfried gave him a smile and wave as he passed. "Morning, Rex! Check it out, we got a freshman from the U.S.A! You know, I figured you were foreign by your scent. You really smell like the average joe. Probably because of all the cities there, huh?" He patted Chucks head again and let our a small laugh.
The bus stopped once more, and on stepped an odd looking girl. She spoke no words and stared at the seat she was aiming for as she walked past them and sat near the back, but that didn't stop Siegfried from giving her a friendly wave as well. As soon as she sat down, Siegfried spoke quietly to Katerina and Chuck.
"Dude, did you feel that? That was some wave of power coming off of her. Ain't like nothing I've felt before! Whaddya suppose she is?"
He continued sneaking glances towards her while keeping an eye on the other passengers as well.

Feeling the guy ruffle at his hair, he flinched for a second, yet was a bit surprised when he pulled back. Re-Really? Usually the only people who did that were his dad and the bullies at school who would yank it without hesitation. He shivered at these memories before listening into what the guy, who had introduced himself as Siegfried, was saying. He...Liked him? This Joke was new. He momentarily looked at Katerina before looking away again. He could never look at girls for too long. It was too embarrassing, and they probably didn't want a guy like him to look their way anyway. But the last part confused him. For their own safety? He looked at Siegfried in a way that motioned for him to elaborate, but the boy continued as if what he said was completely normal. Huh. As he continued, Chuck sweat-dropped at his last words. E-Eat him alive? Th-These upperclassmen jokes were getting scarier every year!

Before he could nervously laugh or off, however, he found himself nearly fall off his seat when the bus tipped over. What the-?! When it was back to normal, Chuck immediately looked at the front to see a girl walk on the bus. She had said a few words to the bus driver before walking down the aisle, causing him to quickly look away. That...was a bit weirder. Did they hit a bump? The person came on next looked a bit...well, scary. He was almost as big as Siegfried himse-why was Siegfried talking about him?! He couldn't help but whimper a little when Siegfried mentioned his nationality ALOUD, but he gave the senior a side glance at what he said afterwards. His...scent? Di-Did he smell? Did Americans smell different?! He should've put on more deodorant. He sighed and looked out the window, watching as they traveled through ANOTHER tunnel and stopped at...an old house?

Chuck tilted his head at the girl as she walked on the bus. And oddly enough, this was the time Siegfried actually quieted down. After the girl sat down, the senior actually whispered now, causing Chuck to raise an eyebrow. Powerful? He didn't really feel anything. And what did he mean what was she? What else would she be? ...He didn't want to say this, but Siegfried was kinda weird.

"Maybe she's a hu-human." Chuck said, the words flying out of his mouth in a sort of joking manner. He had quickly shut up and looked down. DARN IT, CHUCK! Th-That was so rude!

Marilyn Drayton eyed the two, easily picking up their conversations. How quaint? The boy had already felt her power but lucky for the two of them there were so many monsters on this bus she could not pin point what each person was exactly. There was Earthen smells, city smells, magical etc etc, they all intermingled with each other but the soft smell of a human drifted towards her, not a clue who it was nor if there even was one on here and it was just the living areas of the other monsters, she cared not. "A tortoise can always compete with a hare," she spoke her own proverb quietly to herself before staring down the man infront of her.

"Speak out loud, young one, I wish to hear everything you must say," Marilyn raised her brows as she ensured her posture was perfect and her pronounciation of English was truly on point, the lady knew many languages but she was British at heart.

She would not reveal anything until the time was right and everyone was ready, but it didn't hurt to be seen as well spoken and wise for now. For she did not wish the company of another, nor an invitation for friendship, she simply wanted to know and be back on her way with this school.

The girl then shifted her confident gaze to the black boy. "Ah, yes," she said simply with a small smile and nod towards him, no sign of fear in her voice unlike his stutter. Ah yes, when creatures would visit her in her cave, asking for guidance, asking for help with a problem, it was enlightening at first but the feeling dulled to a blunt knife, worthless.

Marilyn waited as she blinked and looked to them both for a reply.

Hera slowly raised her hands, bringing out her phone as she played one of the songs she'd heard from in the human world. It was strange, but decent at least. She looked out the window, tapping it as she moved with the rythm of the music. It slowly began to grow with her as she got used to the sound, letting the smallest grin catch onto her face.

That's when she came onto the bus.

It was . . definetly something. A dragon of sorts, at least she believed from what she sensed. But Hera just shrugged it off, it didn't matter much to her. But what did slightly tick her off was the black one. He definitely wasn't a Yokai, she refused to believe it. She couldn't sense anything from him. Not a SINGLE thing. He couldn't hide his energy, he was just a freshmen what freshman would have that much experience?

Well, other than her at least. But she was in a war at the time, who could blame her? But this one, he seemed . .. almost human. She shook her head, it wasn't possible. No human could come to the Academy. Right?

"Too much." she muttered, pulling her things closer to her as the female Yokai sat with the others, conversing with them. She seemed to be quiet interested in what the two had to say, but Hera was not. She didn't find the same stride in meeting new people that others would. She didn't hate it, but she wasn't one to go out and make friends like another monster might. It just . . . wasn't her style.

    Was she an introvert?

    Yes.

And she took complete pride in it.

Siegfried's laugh was rather rewarding to hear, Katerina had to admit, and she had to clap a hand over her mouth to keep from laughing as well. No need to damage the voice just because she'd found something fun to do. She turned her attention to the freshman - Chuck, he called himself - and had to lean forward a little to hear what he was saying over the bus's engine. Not wanting to stay close to either of the boys, she leaned back quickly back onto her side of the aisle, smiling at Chuck and uncapping her pen to write another response. However, Siegfried beat her to an introduction, and she flashed him a grateful smile. When the bus stopped next, letting on two more students, oddly enough unrelated, only one of them was familiar. Rex was in her year, and an A-class yōkai that she didn't quite understand the finer classification of. He was American, like Chuck, but they must not have been from the same area of the country. The other one - a girl with a lovely dark complexion and a striking heterochromia, had been scolded by the bus driver before she could even step on.

Their next stop was was somewhere in Europe - nowhere near the Mediterranean, thankfully - and let on someone who left Katerina bristling uncomfortably as she boarded quickly. Siegfried had noticed the same as her; the girl's aura was significant. Not all S-class yōkai contained their aura, and not all auras did the same thing, but the newest face on the bus had definitely been throwing something off. Her attention was redirected to the nervous freshman, who, oddly enough, was able to crack a joke. Katerina dropped her notebook in her lap to clap both of her hands over her mouth, a strangled noise caught in her throat as she tried not to laugh. Chuck was actually funny when he wasn't panicking so much! With a few deep breaths, the siren calmed herself as the girl in question approached and joined their trio, and she shifted back in her seat to sit against the window, rather than near the aisle where she had previously been. Notebook securely in her hands once more, Katerina wrote down a quick greeting - and apology.

'You'll do fine, Chuck. Not all freshmeat get eaten alive.' She waved her hand to get the male freshman's attention, holding out the notebook for him to read, mindful of the fact that he needed glasses. After a few moments, she pulled her notebook back, and wrote down something for Siegfried. 'Have fun with the new kids! The back of the bus is calling me.'

With a smile and a wave as she showed the golem her message, she waited to make sure that the bus was rolling along smoothly before she stood, notebook under her arm and backpack over her shoulders. She made her way carefully back to her initial seat near the back, grateful that no one had taken it, and did her best to ignore the blush that had crept over her cheeks. It was so nerve-wracking to have to move seats just because there were too many people, but the quickening of her heart rate and the pressure of keeping up with a conversation was too much. Katerina let out a sigh of relief as she settled back into her seat, and made a mental note to ask Siegfried about the girl and her aura later. Between the two of them, they would be able to puzzle her out, surely.

Chuck, while looking down, felt something creep up his spine, causing him to shudder...why did he have such a bad feeling?

"Speak out loud, young one, I wish to hear everything you must say,"

He felt his heart momentarily stop, a firm and clear British voice sounding out through the bus. b. O-OK. Ca-Calm down. That could've been anyone. Eye twitching, he slowly lifted is head up and looked to his right, yet quickly looked down with a large blush when he realized she was standing right there. O-Oh no. No, No, No, NO, NO. This can't be happening! He didn't even make it into the school yet and already he was going to make an enemy. And if this girl was really 'Powerful' as Siegfried said, then....

Seeing a motion from the corner of his eye, Chuck moved his head up enough just to where he saw Katerina's secret message, and nearly fainted right there. THAT WASN'T HELPFUL AT ALL! Chuck pursed his lips and looked back down, the awkward silence practically strangling him. H-He made the joke...s-so he-he'd have to speak up. Otherwise, Siegfried might get the Brunt of the force. And even though this guy was...stressful, he didn't want the senior to suffer for what he did...but she might just let him be since he was the senior.

He gulped and bit his lip, sweating and shaking nervously, he lifted his head back up, and with a shaky smile, slowly turned to her...eyes looking at the interesting bus floor. "Uh-Uhm...I-I sa-said...th-that you're pretty co-cool!" He lied nervously, giving her a quick thumbs up while inwardly trying to find some way to off himself with sheer mental willpower. THAT WAS THE STUPIDEST THING HE SAID ALL DAY! "Because you're really po-powerful an-and wh-where I'm from, people do-don't ha-have a-a powerful..." Just shut up, Chuck. Just. Shut. UP! "...Au-Aura...o-or so-something, pleasedon'tk-killme." GAH!

Siegfried looked up at the now approaching girl with raised eyebrows, sitting back into his seat as she got closer. Katerina scribbled something saying she was going to move, and Siegfried gave her an annoyed look; way to abandon ship, Kat! She slipped by the woman and took a seat at the back, and Siegfried rolled his eyes. He would have to deal with her later, but for now, he adressed the girl in front if him.
"I was just wondering what exactly you were. I could feel the energy as soon as you stepped on the bus. It's bigger than the one I give off when I transform. You're not obliged to tell me of course, but it's most curious."
He looked up at her with his usual friendly smile, but he turned his head as soon as Chuck spoke. Siegfried stifled a laugh as he stood up and ruffled his hair again, turning back to the woman.
"Don't be too hard on my friend here. He's only a freshman; still learning the ropes. Kind of a chatterbox around girls, though."
He glanced down towards Chuck with a look that said "Stop talking." He turned back to the girl and extended his hand in a friendly manner.
"Nice to meet you, by the way. I'm Siegfried Nadashi. Freshie here is called Chuck. How are you today, Ms....?"
His bright, friendly smile did not fade, and he stared into her eyes to the point where he could see himself in them.

Rex began to relax in the back of the bus as he pulled out his phone and earbuds. Before he put the ears buds in through the next person to get on the boss had a strong aura. ...She's defiantly a S class... but what kind... Who cares in the end I guess... I just hope I get the chance to take her on... Rex thought himself watching the latest bus rider. He soon lost interest in the dragon after she got on.

Then he started putting his earbuds in before getting distracted again when the dragon went over to Siegfried and the freshmen. He shook his head watching the freshmen started stumbling on his words. ...Some low class monsters don't know how to act in front of a S class... Rex thought before finally putting his earbuds in... and began watching anime on his phone.

The woman had a blank face as she listened to the two. The boy was juttery but this was not unusual for her, when faced with monsters in her cave they were bouncing off walls as she tried to teach them, in fear of being eaten alive. "Acknowledged but a tortoise can always catch up to a hare," she reiterated her proverb and turned to the man in front of her.

"No," was all she said and refrained from touching his hand, he was Earthen and that's all she cared to find out about, she'd see in due time and finding out everything now was pointless. "You will know me as M, that is all," the dragon returned to her seat and sat down, no emotion on her face. The mute girl was curious to say the least but she was either a powerful voice user or something along those lines, she had met many sirens in the ages of pirates, business was truly blooming to say the least.

This bus was draining her life, where was they to go next? Is this what people did? Attend school? And make friends? There was no need for that in her life, she was a Queen, solitary, making friends would be pointless and no doubt dangerous, not like she couldn't kill them but still; no point in wasting energy.

Her eyes drifted to the boy listening to music. Interesting.

But her face remaind stoic as she sat and waited.

Siegfried stood there with a....stunned look on his face, his hand still outstretched. The girl was ice cold! He let out a nervous cough then sat back down on the bus seat, staring down at his hand. That was the first time someone had just outright rejected a friendly handshake of his. He felt impure now; was he losing his touch? Were people seeing him less as a respectable figure and just as a, dare he say it, normal person!? He laid down face first on his seat and let out a scared groan.
"Noooooooooooo....."

Eventually, the bus went through the tunnel one last time, and as they came out, a familiar sight came into view. The driver pulled the break and opened the bus doors.
"Welcome to Yokai Academy. Heheheh..."
At this, Siegfried brought his head up and looked outside. His usual demeanor returning, he grabbed his duffel bag and practically ran off the bus and approached the cliff that faced the red ocean. He took a deep breath of the salty air and exhaled loudly, a laugh escaping him.
"Man, is it good to be back! I haven't seen this view in ages! Haha! The forest is just like I remember!"
After stretching his arms and legs and taking another deep breath, he turned and waved at the bus, calling out to them.
"Come on, guys! We don't want to be late on the first day, do we? Haha!"
And he turned on his heel and speed walked into the forest, the dense branches hiding him from view in an instant.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Thankfully, the remainder of the ride to the academy was short-lived, the bus driver keeping up his mildly spooky persona with an eerie laugh following the announcement that they had arrived. Katerina watched her brother guide their curious sister off of the bus, no doubt intending to make sure that she made it to the campus itself without wandering, and students shuffled off of the bus after them. Some, like Siegfried, were eager to be back on school grounds; he had bounded off of the bus and taken charge of making sure that everyone followed. With a small smile, the brunette wove around her lingering peers to disembark as well. She took comfort in the coastal air that greeted her, thinking of her home in Greece, although the dreary and dark landscape told a different story.

Notebook tucked securely in her arms, Katerina fidgeted for a moment beside the bus as she debated trying to fix her skirt again. It wasn't bound to do any good, and she exhaled forcefully through her nose. At least she had bike shorts on underneath it, giving her some semblance of decency with the uniform. Having double-checked that she hadn't left anything on the bus, the siren joined the trickle of students disappearing into the dense foliage that separated Yōkai Academy from the access tunnel. Her brown bar shoes weren't necessarily made for the trek, but if worst came to worst, she would ask Leonidas to get her a new pair.

Although Siegfried had been among the first to disappear into the forest, the earth golem wasn't necessarily what one would call "stealthy", and he was easy to track down. Her brother's classmate was friendly enough, and was unlikely to be opposed to the company. He'd even witnessed her fight with Pelagia at the end of her freshman year, and hadn't changed how he looked at her and Leonidas. The only question was, did she want to keep up with his long strides, or pass him altogether? She was already in the forest, so flying overhead was out anyway; it was practically an unspoken tradition for students to go through the forest on foot. Biting her lip in thought, she hesitated just inside the forest, and looked over her shoulder. Two more years alone? She could do it, but... making friends was in her best interest, perhaps. Especially after catching a glimpse of this year's new students; Katerina may have been an S-class, but she didn't want a fight.

Chuck sweatdropped as Siegfried spoke for him, feeling his hands ruffle through his hair once again. What was with this guy and telling everyone his information? He face-palmed. He didn't even talk to any girls! Anyways, after an introduction from Siegfried, Chuck shyly looked up to see Siegfried holding his hand out to the girl, causing him to give the boy a confused look. He really couldn't tell if this guy was friendly or not...but this girl sure wasn't. He blinked at her proverb...did she just call him slow? Awkwardly, he watched her completely ignore Siegfried's hand and introduce herself by one letter before walking back to her seat.

...Well. He couldn't help but watch Siegfried, who had laid down in his seat in defeat. This felt so...sad looking at it from a different angle. He couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor guy. He looked out the window and all concerns for Siegfried or thoughts of M literally fled in fear. WHAT THE-WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE OCEAN?! AND WERE THEY ROLLING UP ON A DEAD FOREST?! Chuck's jaw hit the floor, eye twitching as they had stopped, the bus drivers words ringing through his mind. Shaking, he waited until two people got off before slowly getting off. And then the bus left...leaving him just looking into the dark forest of doom...OK. Ma-Maybe he should call his dad.

He took out his phone...no signal. His heart stopped. Wh-What? He began to shake. He should've followed Siegfried. Sure, he gave the freshmen stress, but at least he knew where he was going! Seeing several students travel in a direction, he quietly followed them, whimpering to himself as he did.

Japan is so weird.

Siegfried Nadashi

A light whistle escaped Siegfried's lips, lightening up the gloomy atmosphere that the forest set all by itself. He smiled as he looked up at the bits of sunlight seeping through the cracks if the branches; He remembered how eerie this place was when he first came to Yokai. He was afraid to even try to take a step forward into it, choosing instead to just stare out the ocean from the cliff face. That was the first of many times he was forced to muster up his courage and push through; how was he ever going to be a respectable brother if he couldn't even walk through a silly old forest? A laugh escaped him as he thought about it. Nostalgia fell over him, and he closed his eyes, reliving the memories he had from his last three years here. A gentle sigh fell from his lips, slowly being replaced by his usual, albeit a little smaller, smile.
He felt the earth beneath his feet shake ever so gently; someone must have caught up to him already. He turned, and lo and behold, Katerina was a little ways away. He called out to her, leaning up against a large, scraggly oak tree.
"You know, it's very rude to dip out of a conversation and leave people out to dry. Think of how something like that effects me emotionally!"
He placed a hand over his heart sarcastically, as if her leaving him and Chuck as soon as M arrived had actually wounded him to some degree. It did sting his pride, to be sure, but he figured that was just how she was. Then again, he couldn't be sure; all he knew about Katerina was that she was a Siren and had beat the tar out of a another student fairly recently. Not the best way to start out a potential friendship, but Siegfried learned long ago that you take what you can get when it comes to introductions.
Not too far behind her was Chuck, the freshman, wandering through the forest and obviously frightened by it's appearance. Siegfried chuckled and shook his head; the kid was as green as a leaf, but it was odd that he was showing this much fear. Monsters inherently don't experience fear from places like these; in fact, the forest is really just here to drive off potential humans that get through the barrier. Ha! A human getting through the barrier? That's a laugh! The poor thing would get eaten faster than you could say 'Oops, made a wrong turn!". Whatever Chuck was, he must've lived a rather sheltered life. He cupped both his hands to his mouth and called out to him, his voice echoing slightly.
"Hey! Listen! Keep following the dirt path! You don't want to be wandering off in this forest. You never know what's in here!"
He smiled to himself as he cocked his head slightly and turned his head to Katerina once more.
"That's an adequate warning, right? Even I can't tell what's moving in here all the time..."

Hera Mia Scarlet

Hera floated into the air, sighing as she looked down. She wanted to join them, she wanted to join badly. But . . . She just, wasn't like them. She didn't have a happy go to attitude, she couldn't make friends like they could. She would try, and try, and try, and she would always fail.

She always seemed to run into two kinds of people. Those who wanted to know her just to get something out of her, they were the first. They either wanted her body, money, or something to help their own personal interests. And then there are those who pity her and fake being her friend. They are the easiest to weed out. Just do something stupid, and see how they react.

Hera was used to being by herself, not having many friends, it was just her thing. But now she was surrounded by people with friends, with things to talk about. And Hera had felt something she dreaded, and truly hated with a passion.

Alone.

She was, in a most common sense, alone. She was just here, flying in the air and looking off in the distance. Why didn't she say hi, at least TRY to make friends. She did, but whenever she tried to get close, she would just back off once again. She couldn't do it, and she had no idea why.

She lowered her floating, following the group as she listened to them.

Rex gave a small sigh when they enter the school ground because his phone internet didn't work anymore and so his phone stopped playing the anime he was watching. ...Great... Why can't we get service in this place... Well at least I learned through my past mistakes... I got over eight hundred hours worth of anime and manga on my laptop... Rex thought to himself as the bus stopped.

Rex threw his bag over his shoulder and got off the bus. He looked up to see the girl that just got on right before him fly off. "That one way not to follow the rules." Rex said shaking his head. Then Rex walked up to Siegfried and said "You should keep an eye on the newbie... I don't want to have deal with scraping him off the ground.". He was joking of course, he wouldn't be in charge of scraping Chuck off the ground, it would probably be some other newbie to the public safety commission. After making the slightly morbid joke Rex walked off and went down the dirt path.

Marilyn watched silently as the tunnel revealed the forest, the students seemed to be walking towards it, entering it to reach the school on the otherside. She waited for most people to rise and hope off before she followed suit, passing the driver he muttered a few words before she stared him down. "Pester me for a third time, I will eat your body and gift wrap your bones to the school," Marilyn threatened with a growly animalistic voice before stepping off and following suit.

As Marilyn saw the group ahead she stayed back, she needed to be on guard in such a place as this and this forest ls magical vibe was increasingly agitating her scales. "How strange, what a peculiar force," was all she said as Marilyn walked forward alone, passing the group quickly and walking straight onwards. She let her nose do the tracking and Seigfried was correct, the dirt path, her mind was photographic and she didn't forget a thing which was nice. Her eyes focused forwards as she walked quickly but confidently.

Who builds a forest round a school if you want to keep your pupils safe? This place is full of magical energy...Marilyn left it down to, 'magic practice' and shot a sideways glance behind her. The fairy girl had joined that little troupe too but she was reluctant, not willing to join in on festivities.

"The young fairy will come to me in time, wisdom will always find you and guide your mind," Marilyn rhymed slightly as she muttered to herself, her eyes seeing the bodies of other students shuffling through dirt path.

Marilyn turned to the group but focused on Siegfried...Golem, that was what the Earthen-ness was. "Interesting, creatures of old yet this one is fairly young,"

Marilyn spoke quietly to herself, eyes focused ahead.
