For most, Rosalind isn’t exactly the first you’d come to for any problems that you may be experiencing. She’s most likely the last one, the desperate measure. There’s very good reason for that as well. She can be very manipulative, rude, and has a pride that’s the size of Kanye. She can be a ball of destruction when she choses to be and is considered unstoppable when she sets her mind on something. On top of her negative traits she’s very big on pleasure. She’s selfish as she’d rather put herself first (though it’s a good thing to be as well at times) and make sure she’s okay before helping the next person (that’s if there even is another person). One thing about her however is that she’s very big on the equality of rights between men and women due to one very promiscuous topic: Sex. Rosalind is most definitely the most sex driven and seems to radiate that wherever she goes. From the clothes she wears, to her words, down to her actions- she loves being seen as sexy. This makes her very confident in herself and surprisingly she loves to make sure that everyone else loves themselves.

Despite being seen as a girl who doesn’t have a bit of compassion, she surprisingly does. Which was only for her special group of friends. The ones she grew up with. They earned her trust years ago and for that she always made sure to flick the switch to ‘off’ when around them. She still has the same attitude but it’s obvious to see that it’s more of a teasing thing with them. Though they aren’t safe from the mischief she likes to causes.

No one is.

Rosalind would never say that she’s had the hardest life. Far from it. She knows there are people who have had harder times trying to succeed or just survive. But she won’t say she’s had the best life either. Rosalind was born to a big family that wasn’t exactly the most stable. Being the sixth child she already was at a disadvantage for attention with her parents and the difficulties would only become harder as more and more children came to either be born or come to live with them. Before she knew it their big house seemed to house different children at different times. She grew up doing her best in school and simply trying to make friends and this would come to be achieved to a point. But one thing she had a big problem with was getting attention from her parents. They did their best to give this to her but for Rosa it was never enough.

Never.

This was when she would come to observe just who got the attention at a young age. Of course she’d see that the ones that did the most being bad seemed to aways get the attention. So that’s what she would do. Rosalind would switch gears and choose to be bad. No longer would she be the star pupil in classes but the number one on the watch list for the kids. She would stop being the one sitting beside the teacher but the one who seemed to have a permanent spot in the principal’s office. Her parents would come to grow angered and frustrated with her sudden change in attitude and by the time she reached middle school she’d come to be kicked out of their house. Rosalind would then make her way to living with her grandmother and while she did have the attention shed always wanted it wouldn’t help. Rosalind had gotten into the mindset of being a bad egg and would never want to change that. She continued to run with the bad crowds and while her grandmother tried her best to manage her granddaughter even she wouldn’t be able to handle it.

Rosalind would finally find herself now living with her oldest sister who wasn’t that stable herself. This would be the start of high school where she’d finally be introduced to more than just skipping classes and talking back to teachers. Marijuana would become her best friend for quite a while but senior year would be the experimental year. She’d start doing more of the hardcore drugs and would also come to love another pleasure other than that which would earn her the label of being the ‘boyfriend/girlfriend stealer’ or the even more stereotypical label of ‘slut’. She wouldn’t care though. It was her life and the multiple abandonment she’d went through with her parents and grandmother would give her the impression that if her family couldn’t be there, no one would.

Even after managing to graduate with the rest of her friends, Rosalind still had a hard time trying to adjust and figure her life out. She would attend the community college for about a year before dropping that all together and dropping off the face of the earth. Despite any calls or texts she may have gotten from anyone, they were never answered. Rose would have let them go for about two years, traveling from place to place with whomever she could attach onto. She would come to see a good amount of the world, staying in hostels and doing things one doesn't necessarily talk about to earn her money. Though this was how she'd come to meet a man named Cian who would only be bad news. A very successful business man, the two would link up and form a relationship together. They would appear to be  happy couple but behind closed doors it was nothing but. However Rosalind never bothered to leave the relationship, having fallen in love with the rich lifestyle he gave her.

For the money- anything and everything was worth it.

In bed.

It would be nearing evening when her phone would ring. The obnoxious ringtone jarring her out of her sleep.

"Turn that shit off." A deep voice would growl from her right as she gave a small groan. He sure knew how to be an ass when he was half-asleep.

"Go back to sleep Cian..." She mumbled, letting a hand wipe the sleep from her eyes as she blindly reached for the cellphone that had interrupted their peace and tranquility.

"Now Rosalind."

"Go away Cian!" She hissed back, the fumbling hand now finally grasping the sleek electronic and bringing it closer to them. Sitting up, she'd glance at the numbers displayed on the phone before swiping right. "Hello?"

"Is this Rosalind?"

"Yes this is?"

"Okay, great. This is Peter from the local church you and your family used to go to. As requested by the family I've been told to inform you of the passing of Aaliyah Chesterfields. She died yesterday morning."

A small gasp would escape the young woman, the voice on the phone now drowned out as her thoughts swam this way and that in that muddled head of hers. Aaliyah? How could that have been? She... Just... How?

"Well?" The voice would bring her back to reality.

"I-I'm sorry?"

"Will you be attending the funeral?"

"Y-Yes! When is it?"

"It's..."

Rosalind would receive the information, making a mental note to go back home and be there. She would thank the man on the phone before hanging up as the tears were finally allowed to spill over. Wrapping her arms around herself she'd sit there and silently mourn the loss of a friend she'd pushed to the side years ago. Rose would partly blame herself for this tragic happening. She should have opened up again, seen the very friends she'd ignored. She wondered what exactly they had done when they found out- if they found out.

But all she knew was that they would most certainly be there themselves and that the reunion would certainly be awkward.

"You alright?"

Rosalind glanced over to the man who was now staring at her through his bed hair. She thought of what to say. If she opened up and told him that no, she was not okay... Maybe he'd hold her? Whisper soothing words into her ear as he ran his fingers through her hair? Or maybe he'd ridicule her for being so weak... For letting the death of someone she hadn't seen in so long get to her.

With that Rosalind would send him a forced smile and nod her head. "I'm alright, go back to sleep. We have a lot to do tonight."

He would nod and turn away from her before falling asleep as the woman beside him mourned until she could mourn no more, letting her tears caress her cheeks and the shaking of her shoulders rock her to sleep.
