Other Roleplay Pet Peeves

When someone uses the same description as me, especially if it's really unique.
"The twinkling, turquoise tear rolled down his cheek" was part of one of my posts. Then, my partner responded with the same thing. Wtf?! Think of your OWN descriptions!

I agree with most of these, especially Godmodding. I was a roleplay moderator for a few years and that was ALWAYS an issue! But I guess I've got my work cut out for me haha. One thing that super annoys me and will just completely drive me away are mindreaders.

When you're roleplaying your character's thoughts or feelings, even some that they hope another person doesn't know. But lo and behold, sudden mind reading powers and another person's character starts perceiving your character in a different way for things that were left unsaid.

I also really don't like when a person's character refuses to really do anything and is constantly saying no to everything. I've had one roleplay where I tried EVERYTHING. Even accidentally spilling drinks on them. And when trying to help or offer to clean things or saying "let's try and dry up outside" they were still just like "nah, I'll sit here", sulking by themselves, not wanting to talk about it for a million posts. BAH!

I used to have one person who would always somehow read my character's mind, at one point I actually stopped writing their thoughts, or if i said my character was lying about something their character always pointed it out, even if my character was notable for being particularly good at it. It was always so frustrating because if I intended the lying to be obvious I'd just say so in text -.-.

I also really hate when the other person doesn't contribute to the plot or pulls the plot completely by themselves so you can never add anything your self, like you're forced to only react to things and let things happen to you because you have nothing to say/write <.< That's almost worse than needing to pull a plot yourself because if you're really keen on something and want to contribute and you end up not being able to, the worst x.x.

I also hate when people try to change your plot idea, more so if I have a specific plot in mind. I don't normally mind altering things, but sometimes people make the alterations super complicated, weird, and not at all relatable to the original plot?

But generally Godmodding and meta gaming are super annoying.

there are some positive uses to metagaming like producing a character that would willingly interact with the others or at least require thier help. using Umbrie as an Example, Umbrie was a pretty dangerous little fey when you placed the handle of either a dagger or a scimitar in at least one of her hands. but because of her highly mobile precision based fighting style of stabbing or slashing at weak points or vital areas, she needed a better protected and brawnier companion to play the role of distraction.

another thing that annoys me is when a player gives thier character a power with an extremely broad range of functions like "Tarot Mimicry" or a Vaguely defined power like "Magic" and Expect thier Generalist to Outclass a Specialist in that field, lets look at the Fire Heirarchy, Wizard<Evoker/Kineticist<Shaman<Pyroancer/Pyrokineticist.

a Wizard has devoted thier time to a variety of spells, an Evoker or Kineticist specializes in mostly offensive spells, a Shaman Specifically Specializes in the Elements, a Pyromancer or Pyrokineticist dedicated all thier time to fire. a Pyro outclasses a Shaman at fire, who outclasses an Evoker at the elements, who Outclasses a Wizard at offense.

That sounds absolutely hilarious.
You should have kept going to see how far they were willing to go to keep the "broody misunderstood loner" act up.

If they kept it up, I would've just made my character fart in their face. It was a 1 on 1 and THEY asked ME to rp with them. I WAS. JUST. SO. (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻

I had this once and then the person got upset because no one was interacting with them. WE CAN'T INTERACT WITH YOU IF YOU KEEP SAYING NO.

People who think their character is entitled to love and attention because it's a kind character in-canon, no matter how much bullshit they have them do.
No, if you won't have your character interact with mine, they will have no reason to like you. If you treat my character as a leg-up for the shipping you want to archieve, otherwise you will ignore them - that's how they will see the interactions. You can't say "and by the way, my character was always nice to yours" when you need my character to support them in group-scene.

Also, people playing canon characters who excuse every single mean thing they have their character do by "I feel that's how X would behave, that's how I interpret them" but get extremelly upset when other characters act mean in return. Or simply don't like them from the start.
