Rogue is five foot eight and has green eyes. Her auburn hair is automatically recognizable by the two white streaks that hang around either side of her face, which she usually wears in a ponytail, especially when she’s out in a fight. The two white stripes usually are left out of the ponytail, though. She wears a green and white outfit, white X’s on her sleeves and the chest, as she’s unapologetically still an X-Man at heart. She wears a white scarf around her neck, as well, and green, silk gloves, up to her upper arm, both used to protect herself and others from her skin. When she is trying to be incognito, as times usually call for, Rogue wears black leather pants, green shirt, reminiscent of her X-Men uniform.  Her signature brown jacket is always with her, sometimes while she’s in uniform too. She stubbornly refuses to remove the red and black X’s off the sleeves, but will take the jacket off when she needs to not be seen. She always keeps her scarf and gloves on, even in her plains clothes.

Personality (character traits, likes, attitude, misconceptions, etc): 4+ sentences

Rogue is a stubborn, strong headed woman, who has strong southern routes and a fiery temper when she’s set off. Her sometimes playful attitude with people she trusts, such as her teammates, is usually set to the side when situations grow serious. Rogue’s non chalant attitude in many situations hides her deep struggle and fear with her powers. At times, when she’s absorbed someone, she takes on their personality traits, sometimes obvious, and sometimes it’s unnoticed even by her.

Mutant Powers (include things like range, potency, and other relevant factors. The following abilities are currently not permitted for players:- Regeneration, - Reincarnation, and - World Warping/Bending): 4+ sentences

Rogue’s mutant power allows her to absorb the powers, energies, memories, knowledge, talents, personality and physical abilities through physical contact of her skin with the skin of the other person. The longer she touches someone, the more of these things she takes from them and the longer they last. Rogue has no control over what it is she gains from who she attacks, instead is flooded with the effects. Rogue only needs seconds to brush surface thoughts, recent memories, powers or abilities. If she holds on too long it can be lethal to the person she's taking form, or put them into a long term coma. For Rogue, if she holds on too long, and the persons' psyche becomes too strong in her mind, she runs the chance that they will be strong enough that she won't be able to control it. Some psyche’s she’s held onto so long that they can completely overcome her mind, and leave her entirely powerless. Rogue also has no control of her power, and cannot touch anyone with bare flesh without absorbing them.

Non Mutant abilities (skills, education, or interests): 4+ sentences Rogue has encompassed a lot of knowledge and skills from the people she has absorbed. Not only their powers, or memories, but also she has picked up brief knowledge of various languages, including French, German, Russian, and others. She was taught by her step-brother nightcrawler how to wield a sword, and her on again off again beau Gambit, taught her many of his acrobatic tricks. Rogue also learned a lot in the way of diplomacy during her time with Professor Xavier, although her emotional short fuse sometimes gets in her way, and learned quite a lot in the way of leading a team throughout her many years with the X-Men.

Weaknesses (power limitations, character flaws, social disadvantages, etc): 4+ sentences Rogue’s greatest weakness is her greatest power, she may absorb the powers and strengths of others, but she can also gain their weaknesses. She also has no control over her powers, and can be forced to absorb someone at detriment to her physically or mentally. The fact that she cannot touch someone without harming herself and them, has her constantly hyper aware of how close she is to people. Often times Rogue retreats to herself, and finds being around big groups without proper protection stressful.

Equipment (tools, weapons, gadgets, specialized clothing, vanity items, etc): None, really. She has gloves, which are her protection against her powers. Her brown jacket with it’s X patches is something she always keeps close. Rogue also has a sentimental tattered playing card, the queen of hearts, that she keeps in her coat pocket.

Previous History (feel free to be brief & cover just the important events): Rogue grew up in Mississippi and has very little memory of her early childhood. When she was a young girl, she and a young football player at her school, named Cody were playing by a creak and decided to kiss. It was her first kiss, and with it, her powers activated, and she sent the young Cody into a coma. She felt she was going crazy when she’d start to hear what seemed to be his thoughts, and suddenly found herself interested and very knowledgable in football. When Rogue was just a young teenager, a woman named Mystique found her and took the girl in. She explained that Rogue was a mutant, and she and another woman named Destiny became like foster mothers too her. She would grow up to become one of the members of a team of mutants with them.

As a young adult, one of the missions involved a woman named Carol Danvers. Mystique encouraged her to hold on longer than she usually would, and Rogue absorbed Carol Danvers, and absorbed her much as she had with Cody. But this time… Carol Danvers was the superhero known as Ms. Marvel. Now being berated with both the powers and the strong-willed psyche of Carol, Rogue began to feel even more desperate for control. She turned to Charles Xavier, and his team of X-Men, believing he was her only hope of sanity, and angry with Mystique for putting her in this situation and using her for her mutant agenda.

Rogue slowly grew to trust and gain the trust of the X-Men and would become one of the central members of the team for years to come. A team whom she grew to love, and became a family to her. She fought fiercely for them all, and was returned the same fierce loyalty by many. Rogue met many loves, mentors, and close friends. She grew deeply attached to Charles’ idea of mutant and human peaceful co-existence. When many of the X-Men were killed on Genosha, Rogue was inconsolable, lost and above all… angry. She continues to fight against the world’s downslide, and to fight those who she knows are the real evil.

Character Goals, Aspirations, & an interpretation of your faction's dogma: 4+ sentences I sort of incorporated this into the last bit.

Along the way through the world as it is now, Rogue tries to incorporate Charle’s, her closest mentor, dream and keep it alive, helping mutants where ever she can and save as many people- human and mutant- alike as she can. Rogue vowed that as long as she stands… the X-Men are not dead and Charles’ dream isn’t either. She won’t let her friends and family’s sacrifice mean nothing. She won’t stop until the world sees the X-Men as the hero’s they died as. Wherever that takes her, she is ready. Her goal is to see that dream achieved, and maybe save the world from itself while she’s at it.

What themes and plots are you hoping to experience in the game:

I want to see a cool apocalyptic world, how it affects the characters personally and how a bunch of complete strangers, who may not be completely compatible, somehow manage to mesh and become the world’s defense.

Writing Sample (topic of your choice):

“I need mah break,” Rogue scowled, handing Tom the rag as she walked out into the back room quickly and made her way through to the back door to get some air. That damn Cajun was starting to wear on her patience and she’d barely been in there for fifteen minutes. She knew persistent and he was going beyond it. Rogue didn’t like persistent or nosy or any of that in her life, especially not how it was right now. She preferred her privacy and for damn good reasons.

She didn’t like how nosy he was, or that he showed up at her job, and she especially didn’t like how… loud he made the presence in her mind. Rogue could feel it there, it wasn’t like it was anything specific, but she sometimes found herself thinking about things that she shouldn’t. Feeling herself thinking something was funny, when she certainly didn’t think it was funny.

It was the worst part of all this. It was worse than having to bundle up all the time and avoid any contact with people. The… presence of anyone she’d touched since that day with Cody. It was only three people, Cody, that trucker, and now this red headed Cajun. But the more it happened, the fuller her head was. The more times she suddenly shook herself, finding that she was thinking or acting on something that just wasn’t her. It was more weird facts and things surfaced at random times. It scared her that she… didn’t always catch it right away and would find herself suddenly into a football game, or craving a drink she’d never had.

Rogue let out a sigh, hugging herself as she wondered what time it was. She should really get back in there, but she just didn’t want to have to go back in there if that Cajun was. Usually they went away quickly and stayed away except for random times and her head was her own. But… there were just too many things to bounce off of apparently in New Orleans. It was starting to make her want to leave sooner rather than later and that Cajun, Remy, he really stirred things up and it wasn’t a fun feeling. She shouldn’t suddenly be wondering how quickly she could take apart the cash register…

All the more reason to get away from New Orleans, and from things that drug this Emil guy up more…..

Rogue pushed the feelings off and turned around to go back into the building. Her fingers wrapped around the metal handle, tugging on it only to find it wasn’t opening. She sighed, knocking on the door for a minute. Rogue tried again and waited another minute before she assumed no one was around.

This was what she was talking about with her luck. Rogue turned around and started to walk down the side alley leading to the front of the building. She’d just have to use the front entrance. She was nearly to the end of the alleyway when she heard loud shouts and saw someone still near the entrance and turn in. Rogue glanced around before she slipped behind one of the dumpsters, crouching down in hopes whoever it was they wouldn’t see her or come this far until she could access the situation.
