Au'rhealia Ig'natea

Adopted name: Arella

Age: Unknown (though her human body appears to be mid to late twenties)

Race: Therian (Shape Stealer)

Powers: The ability to adopt the features of any animal she has Bonded with. Can complete whole or partial transformations.

Strengths: Arella is quick both physically and mentally. She has a sharp wit and a cunning mind. She is also incredibly loyal to individuals/causes that she has deemed important.

Weaknesses: Due to her ties to the earth and the natural world, Arella is vulnerable to dark magic or any areas where the earth's natural powers have been corrupted/poisoned. Her other greatest weakness is the loss of her people. It has created a thirst for vengeance that threatens to create a darkness in her own heart.

History: Au'rhealia Ig'natea was part of one of the last Therian tribes known in her land. With the dismantling of the other tribes and the corruption of their land, Au'rhealia's tribe opted to flee. They left their land, traveled across the cold and treacherous Leviathan Pass, and found themselves in the land of men. It was believed to be a world still foreign to magic, and thus a world where magic had not yet tainted the land. However, their lack of knowledge about this new world showed itself when Au'rhealia's tribe was captured and murdered by King Ulric Bane of Crastor. Au'rhealia managed to escape, unnoticed.

Years later, Au'rhealia adopted the name Arella, as it was easier to pronounce and understand, and it allowed her to blend in with man. She made her way into Crastor and met with the King under the guise that she was a mystical being who could sense any impending danger for the King. She would serve him, but only if he could guess her true form. The King was given three days, with a single guess each day, in the hopes that he would guess a creature that Arella had already bonded with or could easily bond with. But King Ulric was a foolish man, driven by power. On the first day, he guessed a dragon. On the second day, a serpent. Finally, on the third day, he guessed a falcon. This was enough for Arella, and thus she was able to become consult to the King. She has since been searching in secret for a way to strip him of his power and exact her revenge upon him. In this search, she learned of the Blood Stone, and the one who could call upon it.

Elias Bane

False Name: Elias Whitfall

Age: 30

Race: Human

Powers: Though he doesn't have much in the way of magic abilities, he does favor weapon enchantments to imbue his blades with elemental effects, mainly fire.

Strengths: Elias is headstrong and courageous, and when presented with a challenge is never one to back down from it. He is a skilled swordsman, using his speed and reflexes in lieu of heavy armor or protection.

Weaknesses: To say he has a short temper would be an understatement. Having been raised from his teenage years in taverns and among mercenaries, he doesn't know when to quit when it comes to exacting revenge. Even something as small as a careless word is enough for him to draw blood over.

He also has an insatiable weakness for alcohol and pretty women, priding himself on both the fact that he's never been beaten in a drinking contest, and he's never heard a woman tell him 'no'.

History: Elias had always had a thirst for adventure, leading back to his days as a child. As the older child of two, he was always trying to convince his younger brother to sneak out past their bedtime, or to slip away from their caretakers to explore the castle grounds on their own. He always had to go alone, but he soon found that he preferred it that way.

It was around his sixteenth birthday that his wanderlust grew too strong, and under the cover of night he left his castle and kingdom behind.

Knowing that the kingdom would be searched as soon as he was discovered missing, he hid on a merchant's caravan until he knew he was safely far enough away. He had enough combat training to keep him safe to a degree, but he knew he wouldn't survive very long if he didn't find people to watch his back.

He joined with several mercenary groups over the years, finally making his name with the Stoneshatter clan. As of now he currently doesn't belong to any group, preferring to work alone.

Kal'estios Maka'tea

Adopted name: Kal

Age: Unknown (appears to be in his early thirties)

Race: Therian (Shape Stealer)

Powers: The ability to adopt the features of any animal he has Bonded with. Can complete whole or partial transformations.

Strengths: Kal is a cunning strategist, and a survival expert. After being cut off from Gaia, he's had to focus on utilizing his remaining Bond's strengths in combat, and is exceptionally dangerous when he changes form.

Weaknesses: Kal is weak to Dark Magic, as is any Therian. After his exile he was cast from the Earth Mother's embrace, and his magic has been slowly withering as a result. He cannot take on any new Bonds, and must use the ones that he has to try and survive.

History: Kal'estios was originally a part of the same tribe as Au'rhealia, but had been exiled since before their tribe had traveled to the realm of man. Cast away from Gaia's embrace for murdering and taking the form of another Therian, his body was scarred with the marks of his exile. It wasn't until several years after his tribe had already traversed the Leviathan Pass did he finally follow, believing that he would have more luck at a better life in the realm of man.

It was then that he learned of his tribe's annihilation at the hands of King Ulfric, and though they had cast him out he felt a need to avenge his people. He spent a good amount of time around man in their cities of stone, finding himself easily able to assimilate into their culture because of his severed ties to Gaia. He had searched for any remaining members of his tribe, failing for years. It wasn't until he had nearly given up when he came across Au'rhealia completely by chance. He had spotted her in Sundale in the company of a human, and followed the two of them until the time was right to reveal himself.

King Ulric Bane

Age: 49

Race: Human

Powers: He has agents of dark magic in his employ. He is powered by the darkness via a small spider totem he wears as a pendant around his neck. The totem allows him to keep a certain degree of control over the dark army he is trying to build.

Strengths: Ulric is a behemoth of a man, built like a tree and remains sturdy and strong even at his age. He is powered by dark magic that courses through him courtesy of the spider pendant he wears. He is King of Crastor, and has influence over many different aspects of the kingdom. People submit to his will out of fear, and he goes uncontested more often than not.

Weaknesses: Since he has spent so long attached to the spider pendant, Ulric depends on the darkness that fuels him. He has become addicted to it in a sense. If he is robbed of it, the effect on his body would likely be catastrophic. He is a prideful and angry man, and those qualities can often cloud his judgement and cause him to miss important details. He can rely a bit too heavily at times on those he surrounds himself with, not actually doing the dirty work himself.

History: Ulric Bane never had an exceptionally hard life. His elder brother was given the throne to Crastor, and Ulric was given a large settlement with his own guard and banner men in a good city outside of Crastor. But ever since he was a child, Ulric had a hard time settling. The mages and apothecaries did not satisfy him with their lessons, and thus he started researching the forbidden arts. He learned of dark magic at a young age, and spent years researching it and trying to find out if it truly existed and, if it did, how to harness it. Ulric had spent years traveling the world in search of power. Whatever he found never seemed to be enough. When he returned to Crastor to find his brother, the king, had died, Ulric realized then what he wanted. He killed his nephew, who had taken the throne, through dark magic and deception. The people believed the young king had taken ill. With no other blood left, Ulric assumed the throne.

He has since ruled with an iron fist, pouring the kingdom's resources in the acquisition and building of a powerful army. He seeks individuals and creatures of dark magic to join him, in hopes of spreading the blanket of darkness out over the neighboring kingdoms. He wants his rule to stretch as far and wide as the eye can see, and it seems like he will do anything to achieve that.

Lady Myridia Arrington

Age: 28

Race: Human

Powers: No supernatural powers.

Strengths: Lady Arrington is an excellent combatant. Hand-to-hand, melee, horseback, jousting, it seems her skills know no bounds. She is smart, fierce, and demands loyalty and respect. She leads an army of militants who are just as fierce in battle as she is. The Lady Knight is also an expert strategist.

Weaknesses: Being a woman in a man's line of work subjects Myridia to constant judgement and ridicule. She is faced with challenges every day based solely upon her sex. While she usually handles this with an iron jaw, she can sometimes become weary and self-depreciating. Her self doubt can cloud her judgement from time to time.

History: Myridia was born of a noble family. She was the only girl among five children, and grew up doing what her brothers did. From hunting to horseback riding, she was included in all of their adventures. It was much to her mother's chagrin, though her father seemed to think that as long as she practiced needlework, literature, and other things of the feminine arts every now and again, she would be fine. When she was 11, Myridia was kicked by a horse and wounded in such a way that the healers said she would never be able to have offspring. While her mother took this as a curse, Myridia didn't seem too bothered by it. If anything, it lead her to her dreams.

She trained in the art of war, and soon surpassed even her brothers in strategy and combat. She had earned a place on the battlefield and slowly but surely fought her way up to high rankings. When the threat of war due to Crastor's corruption became imminent, Myridia's father decided it was time to prepare an army. Myridia was knighted and assigned as commander of the Ilyian elite army. She now waits and prepares for the day she will have to lead her banners to battle.

Benjamin Arroway

Age: 29

Race: Human

Powers: Elemental and illusory magic.

Strengths: Ben is an accomplished sage, having been trained from a very young age in the magical arts. He has a strong grasp on his magic, and is able to switch elements and styles quickly and effortlessly.

Weaknesses: Having such a strong grasp of magic and a high success rate, Ben can be cocky and self-assured to a fault. It's lead to him getting into trouble quite a few times, especially when it comes to Myridia. He is also exceptionally stubborn, and has found himself in a few battles where he found himself laying in a pool of his own blood because of a badly timed insult.

History: Benjamin was born into a family of sages, and from a very young age he exhibited magical abilities. Thus his training was started, and soon he found himself making a name for himself. By his teen years he'd already far surpassed the others in his classes, which lead to plenty of jealousy from his classmates. He wasn't a stranger to the fights his 'friends' started with him, and it wasn't until he almost killed a classmate did the elders step in. He was sent off to Ilyian, to train with the military there.

It was there that he met Myridia, both in their mid-teens. Their friendship was solidified during the time she was in hospital after her accident, as he refused to leave her side through the entire ordeal. As the years passed they got close, and though he's had feelings for her he knew that with the high standard she was held to she'd hardly have time for him. When Crastor became a threat, their time together has been limited, which he was thankful for in a way. It allowed him to focus on his studies and magic, though he always tried to find time to annoy her.
