The Species List

Spirit Users:
It was the shape-shifting animals who first felt the change, those such as wolves or tanuki's who'd taken on the illusion of human form thanks to the spiritual power that flowed throughout the land heard its cries as their abilities grew weaker, their ability to keep up their disguise growing more and more tiresome as time passed leading to some slipping out before humans eyes and causing both confusion and panic to those who were witness to such an event, the race who'd until now been rather well hidden amongst the townsfolk and villages now needing to be wary of how long they use it for.

These 'Spirit Users' are rare within the animal species and often occur only when someone else in their bloodline possess the ability as well. Though loosing a decent portion of their animal capabilities in human disguise they still retain certain features, such as bears retaining a superior natural strength or a wolf retaining more highly-tuned senses in the way of smelling or hearing (They also retain most of their animalistic instincts, such as getting easily tempted at the smell of food or bears becoming sleepier during winter when they'd normally be hibernating). Another thing to note about this species is that thanks to their connection with the spiritual flow they have an extended lifespan much closer to that of an average humans, though they still don't live quite as long they can reach anywhere from thirty to fifty years of age compared to their otherwise much shorter ones. Some may choose to live most of their life in their original animal form and only don the appearance of a human much later where as others may have -up until the recent changes- spent most of their time since birth as a human being.

//When in human form no animal traits can bee seen, e.g. no tail or ears. But these features may appear very briefly if they become tired or too unfocused in retaining the human form, the switch itself between animal and human is quick and they have differing levels of control depending on their experience/skill with it.//

1522312001625.png
Kitsune:
Next it was the kitsune who, much like the animal shape shifters gained their power from the spiritual flow, even the greatest of foxes being able to only produce the smallest of flames and their ability to manipulate the minds of humans being all but lost in the process. This was troublesome for the fox-like race as it meant they could no longer simply erase the memory of themselves from any humans mind who happened to see their more animal-like features or were witness to their creation of flames. They grew slightly jealous of the spirit users at this, seeing it as they had lost much more in this recent change as they were at more danger of being discovered as they couldn't hide their features other than under a hood or cloak.

This race is known to be mischievous and manipulative, rumoured to easily capture the hearts of men and ladies alike with their powers over human minds and then eat their livers, though it is exactly what it states and no more, a rumour. They have the ability to produce quite impressive blue flames of which many cause trouble for the villagers by burning patches of their crops -or at least they could before the recent changes- now these flames are small and disappearing after only a short time. They can transform between their fox form (Which is slightly bigger than that of an average fox) and human along with possessing any number of tails between one and nine depending on their age. Though it is less prominent they have eyes that when in darkness will glow and allow them a certain level of night vision, most kitsune having faster reflexes and speed than a human too.

These immortal beings have no known end to their lifespan, none yet having died of reaching a certain age, the only thing seeming to do so is being killed by more- unnatural causes. The oldest and wisest of the Kitsune tell stories of the time the demons took over this land and they were perhaps the first to come to a possible conclusion for what these recent changes were caused by, even if not the first to notice.

1522312048327.png
Humans:
The humans were the last to sense something was wrong, only picking up on it when crops began to give bad harvests at random, the forrest's growing less lively and instead an eerie silence filling them though nobles of the land having little idea of what to tell their people. The only ones to take any action at these events where the samurai and swordsmen, wether it be because they were brave enough to take action or perhaps sent on a job to do so by one of the higher-ups.

These are the people who have at the very least some talent to do with combat or fighting skills, they are those who have been tasked with ridding the towns of the newly discovered kitsune and transforming animals and hunting them down. Those who have been sent to take down anything that may put the settlements in danger…. But perhaps you are not one of these swords for hire, maybe you are but a traveller who happened to hear the whispers being passed around, maybe someone who just happened to be at the right place at the right time.

1522312093055.png
Half-Demons:

In the time since the seal had first become to grow weak a few of the smaller and less dangerous demons had slipped out here and there, not causing too much trouble- not yet. No they had instead only caused slight havoc within a few of the villages far from the towns or the nobles rule, consuming spiritual energy slowly in attempts to not alert others of their presence. There were cases of people going missing every now and again at these villages, children or woman would mysteriously vanish in the night, captured by these 'monsters' in order for them to continue to feed, that or simply amusement as the creatures saw fit, the humans seeming like such weak creatures to them. This was not true for all who disappeared though, some were able to warm the hearts of these demons, falling in love and starting families together, most were hunted down once discovered, the children of these people exiled and cast out without a second chance. Much is still not known about these half breeds…. Some claim they have claws and fangs, others that they have skin of which no blade can cut, some say they have the ability to create and manipulate fire and others the same but with shadows.

1522312191921.png
Demons:

Little is known about these creatures except the fact that they are rumoured to be the embodiment of darkness itself, soulless beings who only care to feed on the spiritual energy of the land and will destroy anything that may stand in their way without a second thought. No one claimed them to be dumb however, many have the same intelligence as humans and use it to their advantage, they seek pleasure in capturing humans for their own entertainment and being rid of them once bored, they have a never ending desire to continue to feed, to keep growing stronger for a reason of which they themselves may not truely know. An instinct one might call it, something that's been hammered into them in order to survive. Their forms are twisted and like that of the monsters of nightmares as depicted in some works where as others showing them not that different from humans…. They have the ability to manipulate certain elements and manifest illusions of their opponents fears, they say anyone who sets eyes on a demon will forever be hunted by the most gruesome of nightmares.

Disclaimer about Demons- I'm going to be very meticulous as to who I accept for this particular race. Do not attempt to make a demon if you can't handle being turned down. You have been warned.

Name:
(Your character's full name. Yes, FULL name. Plus any nicknames they may have, please include these in [Whatever nickname goes here] )

Appearance:
(Place your image anywhere you like.)

Age:
(How old they are. Cannot be unknown.)

Gender:
(Self-explanatory)

Species:
(What are they?)

Appearance description/extra details:
(It's rare that an image can perfectly capture what we imagine our characters to look like. Any differences between the image and the character needs to be written here.)

Personality:
(No 2D characters. Make your creation unique and fleshed out. Everyone has good and bad parts of the persona. So does your character. A short paragraph is fine here.)

Abilities:
(What are they capable of //Magic, sword skills? or any other physical abilities// What are their strengths? Where do they succeed where others fail?)

Weaknesses:
(There is no such thing as a perfect being. Everything has flaws. So does your character. As many strengths as they may have, write an equal amount of weaknesses. Personality weaknesses are not allowed. (Things like "Can control space time but is esstupih" are not acceptable.) Please make real shortcomings.)

Backstory:
(If your character is hundreds of years old, then they must have been through a lot during their lifetime. So the older and more powerful a character is, the more detailed I expect the history to be. A 20 year old human and a 400 year old demon should not have similar length in history.
Remember, this is everything that has happened to them up until this point. Should be no shorter than one well-written paragraph. More for older, more powerful characters.)

Aurelie

Name: Aurelie Karcsi Villeneuve

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Species: Half demon

Rendianami_by_kesame.jpg

Appearance
Aurelie stands at 5'7" in her light form and is 6'3" long in her demon/twilight form.
Her skin is composed of black leather that serve as protection for her. Even the parts that appear human are composed of the same material as this leather. These are discussed more in detail in the abilities section.
To reiterate, she cannot remove the 'outfit' she is wearing, and she feels no need to wear clothes. Her demon form has a hue of twilight where the purple/pink is in the picture. This color ranges from red to purple in a sort of gradient, simulating the light of dawn and dusk. The proportion of black to twilight hues indicate how conscious she is.
Personality
Aurelie tries to be patient and kind to others, but ultimately comes off as snotty. Because she tends to be more reserved to contain herself, her disposition tends to grant her a piercing, silent gaze that seems to portray indifference during thought. Typically, she avoids confrontation or conflict, as it tends to end poorly for both her and the adversary. When provoked, she tends to give the benefit of the doubt before her temper overrides her will. Once enraged, she generally has poor control over herself, but she is coming to contain the fierce blood that rushes through her. Regardless of her control, she feels compassion for all living creatures, as taught by her mother. Due to her powerlessness in preventing her father from destruction, her newfound strength gives her the ability she needs to protect the innocent when possible. Her thoughts are not influenced by her nature, but her actions can be in a moment of pure instinct. For instance, she may come off completely indifferent of self absorbed, but in the moment, she always acts upon what she believes to be the best solution, whether that be protection or extreme violence. Sometimes she wonders what is considered to be right and wrong, and if society's ideals should align with hers. Highly manipulative and lies often, skills she learned to combat human investigation.
Biography
TLDR: Aurelie's mother was coerced into a relationship with a demon. Her upbringing was a conflict of her mother's soft personality with her father's demonic influence. They were separated when she was unable to control her power, so now she searches for them while trying to understand and control herself. Debauchery!

Aurelie's mother was a kind and gentle soul within her own small village in the forest. She spent most of her time in charity and smiling to all she passed. She loved to be a part of a communal family, even if she had none of her own to speak of. Though she was never wealthy fiscally, she always felt wealthy spiritually. She was a superstitious woman that always believed the weather was a blessing from higher spirits and that one day, she might meet a spirit user. To scold the youth, she usually said that a kitsune might get them if they aren't careful around the forest's rim. Of course, it was all in good humor, as she never believed in disciplining another's child. She was always seen with her bag slung over her shoulder with a very large and very peculiar book with a charred hard cover.

Never was there a more fateful day than when she was entrusted with a mission that would unbeknownst to her be her greatest sacrifice to her village. During a torrential storm, a child fell ill with an illness only known to the people as Vorka. This disease was a mere legend passed down from elders to toddlers to keep them occupied, but the symptoms were unmistakable. As soon as her mother heard the news, she quickly slammed her book shut and shoved it right into her bag. She nearly leapt out of her chair by the fire and threw on her robe just as she flung herself out the door. When she arrived, the child was already developing black spots, and he appeared already unconscious. She only spared a glance with the horrified mother that never left his bedside before exchanging a silent nod. Without any hesitation, she darted straight back out into the rain and down the rubble they called a path. This path was mostly ceremonial and symbolic since its true purpose had been long forgotten. It was always said that in a time of extreme need, it would reveal its true nature and light the way to their destiny. The woman never believed she would use the path in her own lifetime, but she saw no other option. In all her reading of the supernatural, she never saw a hint of hope for a cure of Vorka. In fact, much of its very existence was unknown except for a few symptoms: mysterious black spots and eternal nightmares.

As she ran down the winding path, she realized that the land before her was completely unknown to her, but that never stopped her. After what seemed like an hour of jogging, she slowed at the mouth of a gaping cavern. While she took a moment to both catch her breath and dry off from the sheets of water that seemed to only push her down the further she ran, she took out her most treasured possession: her big black book. She flipped to about 3/4 of the way through and started scanning more carefully for any information that might help her in her quest. The book was exceptionally extravagant in its writing and diagrams, all carefully entered notes she spent a good portion of her spare time reading. But nothing seemed to even hint to Vorka in here, which she found peculiar. This was a book full of the supernatural, and it somehow omitted the one thing she needed.

Just as she flipped another desperate page in search of information she knew wouldn't be there, her remaining light was blocked by a shadow. Her head snapped around to be greeted by a large man in full black armor, much larger than herself. For a moment, she simply glared in response to his crossed arms and impatient stance. Eventually, the man spoke in a voice that resembled some sort of stringed instrument, though she couldn't possibly know which one. He told her that she had something that once belonged to him, and he deigned to be its owner once more. When she refused, he told her what was at stake for her: the child's life. When she heard this, she immediately relinquished the book. The prologue of the journal was a cryptic text that never made sense to her or anyone she discussed it with. In fact, it was all complete gibberish to the humans of her humble village. However, the one phrase that sung true to his word was the way he gave it. That voice was unmistakably that of the author, and she did not want to spar with that author.

Pleased with the return of his book, he snapped it into a smoke of black, but didn't move himself. He demanded more for price of thievery, as the book was evidently stolen from his possession. He stated that he would require one human sacrifice, but he would choose himself. Immediately thinking of the boy and his already entangled position with this man, she asked herself what she could do. Unable to come up with a quick answer, he offered herself so long as none other would suffer the consequences of the actions of someone none of them even knew about.

And so she was bound to the man that coerced her into a life away from anything she ever knew. At first, she felt no need to say anything or try anything outside of what he was already doing, but in time, she came back to her old self. She both kept his existence as a demon in the human realm a secret and covered his tracks when he wasn't exactly stealthy. Despite his malevolent nature, she still scolded him on impulse. She was too good at her job of keeping his reputation on track that he never dared relinquish her vital position due to his anger. Her personality was so headstrong that it even sometimes underminded his own to a small extent. Eventually, they found an equilibrium where she kept his mayhem to a minimum, and he was able to remain in the shadows of society as much as he could. Even though they were essentially nomads due to his supernatural origins, it really was a win-win for the both of them.

Her sacrifices eventually lead to a child. He simply wouldn't accept the child as his, but she would not relinquish her only baby for any reason. He begrudgingly let her keep it, but made her tend to its every need. And if it interfered with her daily duties, it would have to go. With no choice, she had to accept.

Through adolescence, Aurelie was mostly brought up by her mother, but still possessed traits of her father. Namely, she wanted to always do the right thing and help others, but her anger and tendencies often lead her to trouble. Sometimes, she hit others without warning or reason, not even that she could explain herself. Her mother, ever patient, knew that Aurelie may never be a saint, but she would learn to be accountable for her actions unlike her father. Regardless, she went out with her father to cause minor mayhem, which was only permitted by her mother since it was the only reason he would bond with her. At other times, she read her father's rather large journal, fascinated by the world no one else could imagine ever existed.

Around her early teenage years, she began to transform more violently in the twilight hours of the day, sometimes artificially extending this period. This violent series of outbursts intrigued her father and worried her mother. He helped her develop her powers, perhaps the first time he took an invested interest in his daughter, to use her given powers whenever she liked. Her mother was skeptical, and abstained even more from the development as Aurelie's powers started to deteriorate the world around her.

During a practice session, her father was more harsh than usual. She wasn't making the progress he wanted for her to be on the road to power. Her emotions, both through the disapproval from her father and her hormones, took her over, and her field extended to encompass the entire village. The people became enraged and sought to find the source of the terror and their captivity in a world that was slowly draining them. Her mother, upon seeing the twilight, ran back home to round up her family to leave. The father told the mother to erase the damage, but this was too much even for her to conceal. The father saw two options, destroy the village or leave Aurelie to be destroyed. Distraught, she refused to leave her daughter's side. But the father was having none of that, and he grabbed her mother and forcibly removed her from the situation. With a wave of his hand, they disappeared into black smoke.

When Aurelie awoke, it was late morning, and she blinked her eyes open to see trees rustling above and birds chirping at the peak of the new day. Her body was covered in a variety of blood stains, though nothing else gave her note of what had happened. Beside her was her mother's bag, which contained her father's book. She immediately retrieved the bag and clutched close to her chest. With no one, not even her parents in sight, she stood up and began her journey into the world she couldn't know. Within a day, she found a path that lead her to a city bigger than any she had ever known. Her mother always steered very clear of them in case her father decided to go on a rampage; it was too many innocent souls for her mother to bear. But Aurelie had no other choice; her life had to start somewhere.

Her years have since been spent both in search of her parents and in doing basically whatever she wanted. Though the teachings of her mother guided her decisions, she would sometimes find herself choking store clerks that held their prices too high or simply waking up in a random location with various pieces of evidence. Whenever some unexplained mayhem occurred in the world, she was off to find her father, and in turn, her mother. Throughout it all, she was always internally fighting the age old conflict of nature versus nurture.

Powers and Abilities

Twilight (n): the soft glowing light from the sky when the sun is below the horizon, caused by the refraction and scattering of the sun's rays from the atmosphere.

The nature of twilight is highly volatile, and its effects vary for the individual. This light transforms all organic material under its influence into twilight matter, essentially corrupting it. Intelligent beings exposed to its light are unharmed, but are unable to adapt to the twilight like other beings. Thus, they slowly weaken and deteriorate due to the twilight's influence, but the process does not take dramatic effect unless the person in question remains for longer than a minute. Side effects of exposure vary depending on the species. The human strength diminishes as their energy is stripped of them. Eventually, their body and soul turn black, and they become a creature of twilight permanently. In this state, they attain new skills, bodies, and minds. Spirit users and kitsune lose their consciousness to fatigue, eventually becoming trapped in eternal nightmare. As natural beings, they cannot be converted to a creature of twilight under Aurelie's influence, but can be under concentrated twilight energy. They will likely become more powerful - and more dangerous - than imaginable.

Twili Form: A passive power that forces all creatures of twilight to revert to their demon form when exposed to twilight. These creatures are stronger, faster, and more agile than in their light form counterparts. She also has white eyes that burn bright to give her night vision (not actual light, but they glow). In her light form, she is granted speeds of up to 30mph, and she is more agile in her light form than in her demon form. While significantly less agile, and her acceleration is slowed, she is far stronger in her demon form in both force and defensive capacities. The demon form also grants her an endowed armor-like skin and claws on both her hands and feet. All clothes are magically removed upon transformation and bestowed back on the user during reversion.

This form is meant to represent La bête du Gévaudan, a French mythical wolf that created terror in 18th century France, which for the purposes of the rp has occurred much before then to justify having this exist. The existence of her demon form is indicative of her French heritage.

Twili Flesh: A passive power where the user is permanently granted a layer of black twilight matter that covers the skin. This is heavyweight, making her weigh much more than her physique suggests. This constitutes as the light realm equivalent of twili skin, essentially transforming human skin to that of their twilight self. However, this does not cause the user to revert to their twilight form unless they are under the influence of twilight directly. This functions less than twili skin, but far better than human skin alone. Aurelie's power prevents her from completely transforming her skin, leaving her arms, shoulders thighs, and head aesthetically unchanged, but still under the influence of her enhanced skin. This skin, under either form, does not hinder the user's speed, strength, or agility, as her body has adapted to its weight much like adaptation to gravity. In fact, it looks like armor; it just can't be taken off. The leather in either form are highly resistant to fire, but fragile in the cold - much like a reptile.

Twili Field: The ability to emit a field of twilight to encompass a specific radius. The field grows from the user at a steady pace, ensnaring all it envelops into the realm of the twilight. In addition, the edge between the light and twilight realm is sealed so that nothing may cross it, including sound and light - inhabitants of the twilight cannot leave without a twilight user or the ability to transverse realms. The range of the twilight field varies based on the user. Aurelie may exert this force to encompass a 13 meter radius voluntarily. Under the influence of her demon blood, it extends much further, and the effects are more devestating.

Wolf Sense: An additional passive power that allows Aurelie to hear and smell incredibly when something new or unexpected is around. This is useful for identifying locations, directions, and sensing possible danger. Typically, this is instinctual and does not require thought or concentration. This power is the main source of her instinctive outbursts, especially when it comes to protecting the innocent from another rampage.

Other: Aurelie is still honing her skills. She was born with both passive powers, and has been able to create twilight for about 10 years. Currently, she is working on creating constructs using this energy, namely a bow and arrows so she doesn't have to lug one around all the time. She has the arrows, but not quite the bow. In addition, she is also beginning to grasp the concept of permanency in her powers, which would grant any of them a permanent effect.
Weaknesses
Unfortunately, her skin is a non-negotiable permanent part of her package. She is unable to convert all of her skin to look like that of human skin, even in complete light. New powers are also nearly completely experimental in the absence of a mentor. As such, she practices in complete solitude in case she explodes something or disintegrates others. Becasue her powers are heavily linked to her emotions, a great deal of control is required to maintain them. This causes them to be their most powerful in fear and at their most uncontrollable in anguish. She sometimes blacks out and wakes up with only shreds of evidence as to what she may or may not have done when her blood boils too hot. Easy to spot in the dark due to her eyes. Her armor is weakened in extreme heat due to its insulating nature.

The long term effects of twilight exposure can be reversed through holy light and high voltage electricity, though they are not protected from other consequences of these treatments. The afflicted cannot be treated while still within twilight light.

Name:
Hisoka Yori

Age:
27

Gender:
Female

Species:
Human

Appearance description/extra details:
Yori is an interesting figure among her people, interesting in that she never reveals her face. She keeps it obscured either by her menpo mask or a cowl, always keeping the bottom portion of her face hidden regardless of circumstance and has become a master of eating without revealing. Her long black hair is silky and luxuriously, descending in waves to just past her shoulders. Her skin, outside of that on her hands which are calloused despite efforts to use ointment to keep it from being so, is soft and there is not a visible mar upon it. Her eyes are a deep brown that seems to draw people in, her eyes have a certain light of innocence, but also, a savagery to them. Her eyebrows are thin but sit aggressively upon her face, if she was anything but the famous warrior she was, it would detract, however, her eyebrows only add to her appearance as that of a warrior.

She is the ideal height for a woman of Nippon, she is not tall, she is of smaller frame, but not demure. Her curves are pleasant, but not overwhelming. Her feet are small and delicate and she is said to have the body of a feral great cat and moves with the fluid movements of a dancer. While no one has seen her face outside of her father and a few trusted servants, she is considered to be one of the great beauties of her clan as while no one has seen her, her father is a handsome man, her mother was beautiful and her younger sister was the toast of the court known for her beauty and refinement, so the belief of the ethereal beauty Yori who hides behind her mask until someone worth comes has spread like wildfire.

But it is a lie. Yori is not beautiful. Her mouth and jaw is disfigured, her overly thin lips horribly twist on the left side leaving her mouth unable to ever truly rest closed. The bones of her shoulders do not sit correctly making her left arm slightly longer then the rest and makes her shoulders contort like that of a sickly child, her ribs bulge out far from the perfect figure people believe she has. She is constantly in pain from her body, a pain that she has grown used to but always sits in the back of her mind, and she must take medication when she awakes else she will be writhing in pain unable to even grip her blade. This is the reason she wears kimono's of too large a size and never reveals her face for in the lands of the Crane, beauty, or the illusion of such, is everything.

Open her upper back, between her shoulders, lies the tattoo of her clan, something every Crane clan members share [although the location and exact appearance of the crane may vary]

crane.jpg

Personality:
Disciplined || Insecure || Determined || Obedient || Judgmental

Discipline is not only a core part of her person, it is her life. She is an Onna-bugeisha of Clan Kurēn, she has been raised in a life of responsibility, expectation and martial training, beaten and forged into a blade over the long years. Her thoughts are her own, and she rarely, if ever, shows her true feelings, and when she does, it is indecipherable anyways thanks to half her face being obscured. She is precise in her movements and words which make her seem aloof and reserved, which is correct. She is not the most open or warm person that has ever lived, preferring the comfort and safety distance gives her. That distance proves vital to her because she doesn't like when people attempt to close that distance as she is incredibly insecure about her appearance, not able to show people what lays under her mask because, as a Crane, she knows, better then anyone, what will happen. After years of her father telling her to hide her face, for the fear to constantly build and see her fears validated in the way her clan treats others like her, she simply doesn't no how to lower the walls any longer. It has become ingrained to who she is and she accepts that. When she is complimented, it tends to leave her baffled and embarrassed even as she revels in it.

Despite her insecurities, Yori is a determined woman. She knows what she wants out of her life, she knows who she wants to be and where she wants to end up and there is very little she won't do to reach her goals so long as they do not endanger her honor. There is little that can be done to her that she can't overcome, after all, she is a famous disfigured warrior in a clan that considers beauty and perfection to be the greatest virtue. This determination does lead to stubbornness but not full obstinacy. She is very obedient to her superiors, after all, she is a samurai and her role in life is to serve, it does go beyond this however, as she has always lived under the rule and shadow of her father, even now the little girl inside of her jumps when he commands out of fear and habit. But this fear is not her only laxity as Yori is a very judgmental person. It isn't fair, she knows that, she knows better then anyone how harshly she, herself, would be judged and found wanting if her people found out the truth about her, yet she cannot help but measure everyone she meets by the same unreasonable standards of the Crane. Just like her people would do to her, those that do not meet those standards are dismissed with a lift of her nose and a turn of her heel and even as she storms away from the unworthy, she is ashamed because a voice mocks her as she does it, 'hypocrite.'

Abilities:
Practitioner of the Yari style Moriagaru burēdo 'Soaring Blade'
Master Kyūdō Practitioner (Yumi Archer)
Adept Yabusame Practitioner (Horse Archery)
Expert Horsemanship
Reading/Writing/Basic Mathematics

Mastery of three of the seventeen divine sword styles of the crane
Hane no dansu 'Dance of Feathers'
The dance of feathers is a very aggressive form of kenjutsu and is considered to be the most beautiful to watch of the crane styles which is telling. The samurai appearing as more of a 'dancer' then that of a warrior as they move with a fluidity and lethal grace, it emphasis the idea of 'death by a thousand cuts' prioritizing maiming and doing small lacerations and stabs to non-vital areas to bring down the foe. Due to the aggressive nature, graceful movements and priory on bleeding the foe, it is one of the hardest to defend against but fairly easy to guard major organs and arteries against.

Isshun no uchi 'In An Instant'
The Isshun no uchi is almost the complete opposite of the Hane no dansu. Where Hane no dansu is beautiful and graceful, Isshun no uchi is effective and intense. As its name states, it is a fighting style set out to settle a fight 'in an instant'. It is designed to create openings however one can even in less then honorable means and capitalizing on that single moment and ending the fight with a quick, lethal blow. This fighting style is incredibly high risk, high reward for it creates just as much openings as it reveals and tends to mean the quicker or more focused swordsmen is likely to prevail.

Kanja hantā 'Patient Hunter'
The Kanja hantā, or the Patient Hunter, is said to be one of the greatest dueling styles in all of Nagazawa and it is, for a fact, the greatest in the crane. The Patient Hunter is not something one can just 'learn' it is something they must be born with. A master of the Patient Hunter must have an impeccable will, lightning reflexes, decisive soul, yet, a patient mind. Despite what others think, the Patient Hunter is not about fighting defensively until the opponent reveals an opening, the hunter creates the opening. By studying their foes movements, their thoughts, their style, they lure them into a false sense of comfort, tricking them into a rhythm of their choosing even as they believe they control the tempo then when the foe is at the exact tempo the hunter wants, they move in for the kill. Some wait for when the foe believes they are on the urge of victory, some wait for the despair to sink in, but it is important to note that this style's use in massed warfare is nonexistent, it requires too much observant, too much time and too much concentration to be of use in the chaos of battle.

[To sum it up, Highly Educated {by the standard of the time period}/Martial Prowess would be her strengths]

Weaknesses:
While she is a masterful warrior, especially at her age, she has her fair share of weaknesses. She is not physical powerful, her size and stature simply do not allow it which is why she focuses on speed and precision, however, she would never win a true contest of strength and could be easily overpowered if it came down to such a thing. Due to her disfigurement, she suffers from intense pain that is kept at bay by the medicine she takes every morning, however, it is not perfect and flairs of pain will sporadically come and, of course, if she were to run out of her medicine she would need to find, or make, more else be unable to do anything. Also, in a fight, if someone were to attack or attempt to remove her mask, she will panic which will leave a very large opening in her defense.

[Sum it up, physically weak, periodic pain and drug dependency, vulnerability from insecurities]

Backstory:
Yori was born into the distinguished bushi clan of Kurēn. She was the first born daughter, and second born child, of her father, and current clan head: Hisoka Atsuya. Her birth should have been the cause of celebration, but instead, it was one of silence as the baby they put in his arms were misshapen. It was some kind of akuma child for no such thing could ever come from his loins. But honor demanded he cared for it even as shame wanted him to throw her out the open window and forget the whole affair. The servants and midwife were paid handsomely for their silence... and threatened for good measure. As a baby, and child, she was kept deep within the castle of her family, forbidden from leaving her designated area were a select group of keepers kept vigil over her, and such..... actions worked, for a time. But nothing last forever and when the other noble families started to ask where his daughter was, Atsuya was forced to come up with a solution. If he could not hide her in his castle, he would hide her in the last place anyone would think to look.. right before them.

She was introduced at court hooded and cloaked, Yori was not allowed to remove the hood or mask no matter how stifling it became for she was hideous and would bring her family dishonor, so, like a good daughter, she obeyed. As she grew older, her father Atsuya, decided she should make herself of use and ordered her to be trained in the ways of the Samurai for she could never fulfill her purpose of marrying to improve their standings in the realm, for that would reveal her nature and be a blight upon their families honor. It was to some relief that she turned out to be an exemplary student earning praise from instructors as she tried to impress her father however she could. In time, she both hated and loved her younger sister, her beautiful younger sister who impressed their father just by existing, who the kami had smiled upon and blessed, she hated her because of it, yet, at the same time, her sister was sweet and kind in a way no one else was. She was a flower to be protected and to never allow to wither. Caught between adoration and jealousy, Yori distanced herself from her younger sister and, in that distance, found peace.

She extended that distance policy to all around her, solitude was peace. Solitude was safety. Her fame grew along with the illusion of her beauty that her father was hiding to dissuade suitors, but her father found it amusing, the more they believed it, the lower the chances of the truth, and so the shame of the family, would be revealed. Part of Yori reveled in it, reveled in the attention, the false compliments of her non-existent beauty... but when she returned to her room, when she looked in the mirror and the illusion wore off, all she had to look at was herself. The same self that her father could not abide to see, the same self she had come to loath and hate, and with each second, a piece of her died under the imagined words of her father echoing in her mind. She couldn't make her father love her, not like her sister, she couldn't make her father proud like her sister did, but she would. She would make her clan proud of her in the only way she was able, through the sword.

Info on Clan:
Clan Kurēn, or the Clan of the Crane, is one of Nippon's most distinguished clans. They are a clan obsessed with beauty and the pursuit of perfection and this can be seen in all aspects of their clan, from their architecture, to their clothing, to their mannerisms and to their warriors. This is often mocked as vanity and their warriors seen as 'dainty' because of this obsession with all things fair and beautiful, however, this beauty has a razor sharp edge for this pursuit of perfection extends to the martial as well. Their samurai, and even their ashigaru, are some of the deadliest in the world thanks to their dedication in mastering the art of war. This pursuit of perfection is greatly shown in their artisans, most bushi of the Kurēn also dabble in art from pottery, to paintings, to literature or whatever their pursuit of perfection may lead them. Their love of beauty makes them disregard things that are not. A beautiful woman with but a single deficiency will be looked down upon in the clan, a warrior, regardless of how great their skill, who possess a face only a mother could love will always be mocked behind their back for while the Crane is beautiful it is but an animal.

The Kurēn are very famous for 'hiring' out members of their clan to serve as bodyguards for those they deem worthy of the honor.

Name: Havel Maewha

Age: 34

Gender: Male

Species: Human

flat,800x800,075,f.u3.jpg

Extra details: Havel is very similar to the attached images with only minor differences. He has a beard but it isn't quite as full. His loose yukata is torn in several places from his skirmishes. The sleeves have been torn off because they were so damaged, there was practically no point in keeping them. It really completed the vagrant look.

As can be assumed, many scars decorate his skin. They range from burns to fatally deep sword cuts to things that appear to be animal bites.

Havel is a foreigner in this land. He was mostly raised there but has maintained his english accent from when he was a child and his piercing blue eyes send waves of ice into anyone who stares for too long. So he does not have asian characterstics but western ones (i.e. Strong jawline, almond eye shape, blue eyes, less pronounced cheek bones, etc.)

His kimono is a very faded grey and he tends to keep his hair loose until combat happens. Then he ties it up ( messy, unruly hair style reaching a little past his shoulders)

Personality: Havel is not a man of many words. Even when he was a child, he never spoke much. This, by no means, makes him unsociable or a recluse from society. Quite the opposite actually. Havel enjoys small groups and exchanging stories with other ronin or travelers. He strongly dislikes crowds and is by no means quiet about the things that bother him.

Despite this, Havel is still rather quiet overall. Preferring to observe and react accordingly rather than try to talk his way out of situations. A man of action rather words.

That being said, Havel is the farthest thing from innocent you can get without being evil. Killing is like second nature to this man. Being trained in the art of war and even being thrust into battlefields at the tender age of 8, has turned him into a ice cold killer.

His memories from his time as a samurai plague his mind and the atrocities he committed in the name of his lord are a constant presence in his mind. Something that always reminds him that he is anything but innocent. That he has the blood of innocents and guilty alike on his hands.

Havel is not innocent and doesn't pretend to be but this vagrant knows he is far from evil as well. He has felt true evil. He has slain it with his blades and has even served it. Havel is rather patient and is capable of kindness. Trust is not something he has trouble giving and is always the first to give his respect to others.

Despite his choices, he still has a small sense of justice and a strange sense of honor. It used to be much greater but years of killing and battle have caused his morals to become terribly askew.

Abilities: Needless to say, Havel is a swordsman with little equal. His raw talent with bow and blade is what allowed him to survive the earlier stages of his life. A talent that was brought out to its fullest potential through combat and the personal training of his lord at the time.

An ability that wasn't to be trifled with became a force to be feared. If "The Gaijin" was on the battlefield, it meant a demon was present amongst men. A trail of blood and death was the only thing ever left in The Gaijin's wake.

The reason for this is because despite being mostly self-taught, Havel was taught by his master. A style know as the Oni Ittö-Ryū. The Demonic One-sword style.

Rather than literally becoming a demon, Havel was trained to enter a trance that has him fight like the demons of old. He sees every living being as nothing more than something to cut. He begins to hallucinate and these hallucinations take the form of lines. Glowing red lines that must be followed with his sword. People cease to be people and merely become numbers. Bob, Davis, Terry and Louis become 1, 2, 3, and 4. Mere numbers that need to be counted and his sword is the pencil.

When Havel enters this state, his eyes become terribly bloodshot. So much so, that his sclera becomes engulfed in red. The combination of red and ice blue is what makes him appear like a demon.

After having left his master's employ, Havel wandered as a ronin for approximately 7 years and perfected his original self taught style. Something he named after his master's style, despite everything. The Tsuki No Ittö-Ryū or Lunar One-Sword style. He enters a trance-like state of complete tranquility where his mind becomes silent and serene as a moonlit lake on a still, windless night. His senses become heightened to razor's edge and his perception of time even slows to some degree. It's as if everything becomes still for a single breath which allows Havel to land the decisive blow.

Weaknesses: Despite being on the intellectual side, Havel is actually illiterate. While this doesn't seem like much of a weakness, it becomes quite the barrier to understanding....almost everything. It all looks like chicken scrawl to him. Markings that make no sense at all.

The Oni Itö-Ryū is more than just a trance. Its so powerful that it has a passive effect on Havel. If he were to ever become irritated, annoyed, frustrated, or any similar emotion (anger, envy, etc.) He would feel the urge to cut down whatever it was causing his stress. He would have to crack his sword arm's wrist to relieve the pressure that builds up. Almost as if he was a cracking a whip. It is always a subconscious urge to give himself into the demonic style. To disconnect and succumb to those urges.

The Tsuki No Ittö-Ryū can end any fight in one decisive strike but that is all it is. A self taught style with a one hit wonder attack. It also requires a staggering amount of concentration and requires Havel to be in the proper state of mind to even reach the starting line. Despite being his own created style, Havel is twice as likely to fall back into his Demonic Single Sword style when his back is against the wall then use the final attack his own style.

If and when Havel uses The Oni Ittö-Ryū, it takes a tremendous amount of willpower to return back to his original state. Willpower and time. The Oni Ittö-Ryū makes one lose their sense of self and become a mindless being of slaughter that lives for nothing more than carnage and bloody satisfaction. This can manifest in many different ways. If the user were to have a lover it could even come out as maniacal possesiveness or sexual rage.

History/Bio: Havel was originally the son of two wealthy English parents who were traveling the world to enjoy the sights. Simple enough until their boat reached a land that was incredibly intolerant of foreigners. So much so, that their ship was ransacked and his parents murdered before his eyes at the age of 5. The young Havel would have joined them in the afterlife if it had not been for a young village girl, barely a woman herself, that took pity on blue-eyed foreign child and decided to stand up for his life.

She was beaten for her outcry but they eventually left it alone, killing a child seemed distasteful to the bandits. A mere two years passed but in that short time, Havel learned the language of the country and came to think of this girl as the older sister he never had. She worked hard by herself to keep them fed and clothed. Life was by no means easy and this young, responsible woman could never replace his parents but it was the only person he had.

Alas, this was in a feudal era and what was a feudal time period without feuds? The village Havel stayed at was caught in the crossfire between two feudal lords and there were no survivors other than Havel himself and that was attributed to dumb luck. The 7 year old child had picked up a sword far too big for him from a fallen samurai. He held it aloft with trembling arms in a desperate, defiant, pathetic attempt to protect his fatally wounded foster sister.

Little did he know, he stood fast against the feudal lord who would train him in the future. A lord that was looking for a disciple to pass his style on to. The disciple required a prerequisite and it was to look death, destruction, and despair in the eye and declare that you were going to take a piece of it with you to hell. The lord expected to find this disciple eventually if he continued raging wars across the country but certainly not in a 7 year old boy and certainly not a foreign child.

It took a lot of luck and moxie but Havel's defiance is what ultimately caused him to be the sole survivor of the crossfire.

The feudal lord took Havel to his domain and introduced him to a similar child that was two years older. A girl with golden eyes filled with hate and ashen hair. It appeared as though she had met a similar fate. The two were thrust into their first battlefield a year later as a test of who was worthy enough to become the disciple of the lord. Yet, to the Demon lord's surprise, both children survives the battle. The sickening, pleased grin that twisted th man's face was a true sight to behold.

Years passed and the two children became teenagers. Forged into adults before their time through the fires of war. Being of similar age and opposite genders, along with adrenaline fueled battle frenzy, a relationship between these two rose from the fires. What was initially curiosity became something more. There was no real emotion. Not at first. Just raw, unfiltered need.

As they became more battle-hardened, the feudal lord began to finally impart his techniques on the two young ones. It didnt take much for the two easily susceptible teens to get swept up in the evil urges of the Oni Ittö-Ryū. For a time, they flourished on the battlefield. They painted the hills and valleys red with the lifeblood of their lord's enemies. Their relationship developed from need to violent obsession with each other. They would sometimes arrive to meet with their feudal lord more injured by each other in their violent carnal satiation than the actual battles.

As time went on, it was clear that Havel was the better combatant of the two but the golden eyed girl, Lira, truly embraced the demonic teachings while Havel tried to push back every once in awhile. Not wanting to be completely dominated by these urges. A difficult task with someone like her in his bed every night.

There came a time the smoke of a battle had just finished and a enemy lord's family was brought before Havel and Lira. Their master ordered them to slaughter them to prevent a second uprising and the task would have been simple enough.....if the two children had been older. The older brother was shielding his younger sister with tears flooding his eyes and hatred in his heart. They couldnt have been older than 6 and 4 respectively. The same defiant look Havel had once given his own master. The same situation except he was now the one holding the blade that spelled the children's deaths. Lira dispatched the enemy lord and his wife and it was up to Havel to eliminate the children. For once, his mind had been cleared from the blood-fueled haze the demonic sword style caused and he saw things clearly.

Havel's feudal lord roared at him to end it and his body went through the movements instinctively. First, the brother and then the four year sister. Her cries over her brother's murder were cut short with one quick stroke. Rain poured down on the battlefield then, washing the blood off of Havel's body. His eyes snapped to the victorious lord and he did not hesitate. The ronin's blade whipped out like lightning only to come in contact with his master's own weapon.

He had been expecting this.

"I always knew you were going to be the true inheritor of the Oni Ittö-Ryū. Come son..."

"Make me proud."

A deadly, demonic dance ensued between master and student for an unknown amount of time before the student overcame the master.

In his final dying breath, blood gurgling in his throat, Havel's master smiled and gave Havel his sword. "You are the successor of my art. You are everything I could have wanted. Now go and spread ruin on the world." Lira, horrified over her master's death and envious of Havel being chosen over her flew into a crazed rage and yet another duel began. The soldiers looked on in confusion until Lira was felled. Havel's sword having been broken by the duel and having finished Lira off with her own blade. It was as if in that moment before her death, she understood why Havel was chosen.

"He...may have....chosen you. But don't you ever forget...."

You

Are

Mine

Those words have haunted the ronin to the present day. Seven years as a wandering ronin is a very long time for one to think about the atrocities they committed while under the influence of a style he now despises. A style that has literally taken everything from him, over and over and over again.

Equipment: Two 4 and a half foot katanas. His main weapon is the one that belonged to his master. The second one is the one belonging to late demonic lover. Oni Ittö-Ryū is engraved at the hilt of his master's blade and at the bottom of Lira's is the engraving of two letters.

Age:
37

Gender:
Male

Species:
Human

Appearance description/extra details:
The sleaves of Sueno's kimono is slightly longer than usual ,stretching all the way to his knuckles; while the edges of his hakama stop just below his knees, revealing the rest of his leg.

Personality:
Sueno is a stoic and a bit of an introvert, though he inst afraid to socialize. Sueno prefers to keep quiet as much as he can and if he does have to talk will say as little as he can. Sueno is also philosophical, though he'l never bring up his beliefs unless asked to. Sueno is but a simple man and obviously acts as such.

Abilities:

Kenjutsu Adept - Sueno's is a knowledgeable in the art of kenjutsu
Kyodu Adept - Sueno's is very handy with a bow.
Saruashisuto - An unorthodox sword techique that Suneo created himself to best make up for his short comings in kenjutsu. It primarily comprises of one-handed attacks and defenses while utilizing martial arts as a counter.
Weaknesses:
Fatigue - One of Sueno's biggest weaknesses is that he can get tired from prolonged encounters or is slow to recover if he's hit in certain spots a few times.

Backstory:
Sueno was born to a family of radish farmers. He lived fondly with his parents as life was simple and silent. Away from the foolishness of the rest of the world. By the time Sueno was 7 his mother began to tell him the many tales of "The Nameless Samurai". The tales clinged to young Sueno's mind, much to his father's concern. In his free time, the young Sueno would play by himself by re-enacting the tales of "The Nameless Sword". Sometimes he would believe he was the reincarnation of the great demon slayer he idolized so much, but he was just a country boy, not a great warrior. The more he fantasized, the more he wanted to venture out beyond his family grounds. Sueno's dream would soon come true in a very undesirable way.

By the time Sueno was 14, A strong winter cold had come and claimed his mother's life aswell as the life of his family's farm. Sueno's father went into a deep depression and began to neglect Suneo and his duties as a farmer. Suneo had tried to tend to the farm himself but he was met with little success. It wasn't long until Sueno soon found his father to be dead aswell. His father was so deep in sadness that he had starved himself to death. Sueno was left with no one and with nothing to look out for. With that, Sueno left to find someplace else. He didn't know where, but the life he once had was over. He traveled aimlessly throughout the land until he came across a martial arts school called "Midjika Rindeu". Sueno asked the teachers there if he could stay. He didn't care how long. The teachers agreed on the grounds that he become a student. For the better of 3 years, Sueno learned martial arts aswell as mental arts. He was taught endurance, patience, and discipline. Though in comparison to his peers, he was only average, but he continued regardless. Even though he hadn't even mastered a single martial art, Sueno felt that it was time for him to leave, in which the school gave Sueno their full blessings. Sueno aimlessly traveled once more until he cam across a revered weapon-smith clan called the "Soumi-Ryu". Sueno presented himself as a boy seeking knowledge and asked the clan heads if they could teach him i the art of weaponry. The clan heads were skeptical of Sueno, but they agreed nonetheless, but they worked him much harder then the Midjika Rindeu. He first started off as the water carrier for the students for awhile. After awhile, they slowly worked him into swordsman training with the students. Sueno excelled well in the art of the sword more than he ever did in martial arts. After 10 years of being swordsman under the Soumi-Ryu, Sueno once again, went to travelling. With the skilles he acquired, he decided to put them to some sort of use. He began taking up odd jobs. Usually as a bodyguard for a government figure or as a hitman. These jobs provided great challenges for Sueno as he would go on to slay feared warriors or seemingly whole hordes of criminals through-out the land. Sueno excelled in these jobs and was revered as an excpetional swordsman and an upright warrior of justice. Almost everyone idolized him, especially those in rural areas in which he would stop by and stay with from time to time. Some even began to think he was "The Nameless Sword" who sealed the demon world long ago. Others believe Sueno is his reincarnation. These compliments made Sueno feel empty as he became what he wanted to be when he was just a worriless farmer's boy. Only that old life of his had to be destroyed just so his dream to com true. The dream mean't nothing to him now. Very little did, as he continues to travel far and wide across the land. With no destination, nor goal in mind. And even with the demons seeping out of the Evil Realms, Sueno pays it little mind.

Equipment:
Yashimatsu - A special blade given to him by the Soumi-Ryu. With kanji painted on the blade itself, the the blade does not break and never loses its sharp edge, has a blue and black hilt just like his kimono, and has a chain with the kanji symbol "Honor". Suneo has killed many a formidable foe with this blade and he will continue to do so for many years to come.
Yashimatsu.png
*Extra:
Sueno's favorite dish is radish-chicken ramen with beefballs. An odddish he made himself.

*Quote & Theme Song:
"Once you hold the blade, it becomes your very life. The day it breaks is the day you truly die."

Name:
Khaoul the Infernal Devourer
The Immortal Devil

Age:
Unknown
(Probs 2k or something)

Gender:
Apache - Male

Species:
Full Demon

Appearance description/extra details:
A field of black mist obscures his real features until he uses his powers. His real image is this:
demon_worrior_by_kalmajh-d8s48bu.jpg

Personality:
Khaoul is supposedly soulless in the eyes of mortals from the human realm and perhaps that was not so far from the truth. Khaoul cares very little for life and simply exists to consume. If he were a sin, he would be gluttony for his incessant craving to consume more flesh, more people. He will stop to no end in order to kill and consume anything that is not a demon in order to sustain himself. Khaoul is also a bit of a loose cannon when it comes to teamwork, often causing destruction for everyone and having no problems eating his friends in pursuit of further power. When he begins to fill up on food, his intelligence finally starts to kick in. Becoming less of a savage beast, Khaoul becomes capable of strategy and tactical thinking, even using his abilities for more devious plots. Indifferent to the other demons and their "society", Khaoul respects power and those who can provide him food. If someone else can, it's possible to gain his loyalty, even if it is only temporarily.

Abilities:
Mind Over Matter -
Khaoul has the power to completely manipulate his own body to meet his own needs. Be it to create weapons of bone and flesh, to regenerate wounds, change his appearance or to simply grow into a titan of a monster. To this end he may also harden his flesh to become as strong as steel, to which it will take on a blackened/burnt appearance.

Dark Veil - A black smoke/mist constantly shrouds Khaoul at all times. It only ever goes away when he uses his powers or wills it to leave him. It can be cancelled out by being struck by divine or magic-cancelling magic or weapons.

Sacrificial Blood Magic - Khaoul has an innate passive blood and sacrifice magic ability that activates when he consumes other beings. He can spend the soul or blood of a person or several persons for varying effects. These effects range from buffs to his own body and powerful attacks. The power/amount of these effects depend on that amount of souls/blood that is consumed.

Weaknesses:
Immortalised Demonic Body -
Khaoul is extremely difficult to kill as he can easily produce more flesh and bone to supplement his own body, however he is not actually immortal. His steel skin ability can only be used on the area of two body parts at once. This includes two limbs at once, just the torso or just the head and one limb at once. On the same note, repeatedly striking at one point of his hardened skin would be enough to damage it. An overwhelming attack that destroys his entire body or having his heart pierced with a divine or magic-cancelling weapon will kill him for good. On top of all of that, if he goes without food/flesh to eat for long periods of time, he will grow considerably weaker until he simply dies. As such he must eat constantly to ensure his powers remain as powerful as they are.

Divine Weakness - Anyone with a form of "divine sight" such as clairvoyance or otherwise can see past his Dark Veil. Equally, weapons imbued with divine magic do more damage to his body and cause him more pain with noticeable effect.

Demon Impurity Seal - Khaoul's passive blood and sacrifice magic does not work with demonic souls and blood, so he cannot simply use his own life, his minions' life or his own flesh and blood to power his attacks.

Backstory:
Just one of them demons to have gotten sealed away.

Equipment:
The Flesh Render -
The sword on the left of his hip with a red gem is one of his two Demonic Life-Takers. Wounds created by this blade will not heal by normals means, requiring advanced healing magic to purge the curse placed upon it. Powerful attacks generated through his passive blood and sacrifice magic can be channeled through this weapon for an increased output. The blade of this weapon has gnarled teeth running along its edge and cannot be broken.

The Soul Reaver - Despite not being able to output massive damaging attacks like its savage counterpart, this slightly longer twin blade with a black gem on the right of his hip causes no bleeding or organ failure when it wounds a person. Instead, their soul begins to bleed from the wound. This makes the blade more dangerous because only divine magic can purge this curse. In the end, those struck by this blade will eventually bleed out their soul and be damned to a Limbo aside from Heaven and Hell, or so speculation decrees. This blade has an incredibly sharp and slender edge but is breakable as it does not hold up against heavy attacks or incredibly dense or hard defences. Those suffering from its effects will become mentally drained until all their soul has gone and they become hollow husks.

*Extra:
He prefers the flesh of the innocents than those hardened by battle. However he still enjoys killing those with great combat proficiency.

*Quote & Theme Song:
"I hunger for your flesh... I hunger for your family's flesh. I hunger for your species' flesh! Come, feed me... I await your death."

Full Name:
Inari Arai

Age:

Gender:
Male

Species:
Kitsune
(3 Tails)

Appearance: (Details)
Inari is a young boy who hasnt hit his growth spurt quite yet, and hes rather insecure about it. He knows he still has time to grow, but seems to be focused on growing up too fast instead of relishing the beauty of being a child. Currently he stands at around 5'1" and since his body hasnt completely matured hes got a light build, thin and not at all muscular, but at least hes got some meat on his bones. He has short white hair thats starting to grow out a bit and is beginning to be a little wavy and unruly but he could care less. His eyes are as crystal blue as the beautiful oceans of Okinawa, and has the trade mark slitted pupils of a kitsune, comolimented by long, dark lashes that can look a little feminine up close. Hes still got a bit of a baby face but wont admit it, and it doesnt help to have a small dimple on his left cheek when ever he pouts or smiles.

But ya know...with lil fluffy ears....
20180330_001147.png

Personality:
Despite his boyish appearance, Inari is quite mature...well...in most ways. He almost never smiles, and doesnt go along with jokes whether he gets them or not. Hes got a serious demeanor about him, and expresses distaste toward nonsense, especially when the time doesnt call for it.

Inari yearns to be seen as a man by others. Often trying to prove himself especially when other males are present. He wont go out of his way to do so, but will definitely try to show that he is more than capable of taking care of himself. Growing up with no father figure (or motherly figure) was rough, but made it made him grow up faster than he needed to. Hes self reliant, resourceful, and and quite logical. Most of his habits and traits were taken from observation when ever he made his way into populated areas. Men opening doors for women, and protecting them from harm. Fathers providing for their families and keeping their women happy. Women being kind and compassionate to the meek, and helping others when they can. Mothers holding their head high and keeping their hearts strong infront of little ones, even when life was not going okay. Those were things he valued, and thought to make up a person worth respecting.

Inari can be described as chivalrous at times, aside from the fact he seems to never care about the happiness of others, he hates seeing women cry or upset and will do what he can to stop it. It may come off half-heartedly but his intentions are true, admittingly or not. Infact he may be a little protective of women (older or younger). He has seen too many women having their hearts played with, taken advantage of, or being cheated on and he cant help but think that that couldve been his own mother. Inari can be a little rough around the edges, but he means well and will always stand up for the little guy (even if theyre taller than him).

Yea, the boy can be mature and all, but hes got sparks of immaturity that comes out of him quite often. We typically only see this part of him when provoked or flustered. His tendency to be easily annoyed reflects the incapability of holding in anger that most children have. He struggles with patience and controlling that little hot head of his, which leads to his brash words and antics to poke back at someone. His sassy remarks have gotten him into trouble in the past, and continues to do so. His lack and want of a motherly figure makes him gravitate more toward women, which eventually bites him in the ass when their matronly instincts over come them and compel them to mention how "cute his cheeks are", or how "adorable" he is, and how hes a "little man". Inari is easily embarrassed around women, but puts up with it if he likes their company enough. And though the subject of exploring his sexuality has only just awakened, he can still be bothered by the sexual appeal of a woman. I mean...hes just an adolescent boy after all. Yall know how them hormones be...

In short, Inari can be a little bratty and brash toward some, a contrast to the serious front he has most of the time, but he really seeks (and needs) is some motherly love, guidence, and the chance to just be a kid.

Abilities:
-Shapeshift: transforms between white fox (3 tailed) and human
20180329_101818.png
-Short-swordsman: defending and evading attacks are his forte, his techniques when attacking are decent but he could use more practice, maybe a few pointers. Amateur opponents are easy but going up against others skilled with a blade could result in serious injury. Especially with a hot head on his shoulders, he can become sloppy.
-Kitsune Physiology: A little more more resistant and angile than the average human. Keen senses (such as sight and hearing) along with that strange 6th sense/intuition animals tend to have.
-Fox-fire: the spiritual fire of a kitsune takes different forms varying from kitsune to kitsune. Some just have the trademark blue fire, while others can generate electricity or even light, and in human texts they claim it comes from their mouth or their tails. As of now Inari only has experience with fire, though he has recalled some strange instances with electricity and hopes to tap into that as he grows.
For now his skills with the fox-fire will just have to do. Inari can create an orb of flame, it doesnt look like fire because its so smooth, but it certainly has the deep azure of the supernatural fire and radiates heat. He can use it to light his way in the dark, shoot one large orb as a projectile (which explodes as soon as it comes in contact with anything solid) or shove into an opponent if given the chance, or can create multiple, smaller orbs (3 the size of golf balls, 5 the size of marbles).
In certain instances when Inari loses control of his anger, the kitsune can form a pillar vortex of the blue fire. It doesnt last long and is usually used as a tactic to bring his opponent closer to give the advantage of close combat, or may even create a wall to seperate a group of opponents.
Aside from that he can form short bursts of fire from his hands and feet if disarmed from his sword (like your average joe firebender, best comparison)

Weaknesses:
-Dogs: Kitsune are known to hate dogs. Dogs can sense kitsunes which causes most to flee to keep their cover. Dogs can also sense those possessed by some kitsune, and can make the spirit leave the host.
-Priests: There are Kitsunes and Nogitsunes. Kitsunes are in service to Inari, the diety's messengers, generally they are good and humans believe they have the same capabilities as Inari. Then there are Nogitsunes, Kitsunes that have their own agenda and are known to be more mischevious and malicious. Unfortunately, both fall under the Kitsune category, and its hard to tell the difference. Priests (and priestesses) can harm or greatly affect the well-being of a kitsune, seeing as how their in a spiritual profession, if they cant tell them apart.

Backstory:
Life was pretty normal in a small shack of a house in the middle of a thick, dense forest. Birds sang, reptiles scurried, bugs fluttured from leaf to leaf. Young Inari and his mother lived in isolation together while she raised him from a safe distance way, free of human hatred. As a toddle and young child Inari would often venture off, chasing bugs, mice, climbing trees, and always came home home with a new bruise or scratch, and dirt smudged on his face and arms. It wasnt the most lavish lifestyle but it was what he was used to, and he didnt mind. His mother would disappear during the day to do her....jobs, "escorting" men, but would return just before the sun would set to her son. "Dont go too far, Inari" she would warn him before leaving, "You dont want to get lost."

One normal day, at the age of 7, Inari was returning home, battered and dusty with a small bundle of bramble on his back for a fire, he felt something strange. The closer her got to his home, the more this strange feeling grew. Call it animal instinct, but little Inari had a very bad feeling. Voices carried through the trees, unfamiliar voices. Voices of men.

Inari grew up with out a father, so hearing a man's voice was definitely something that couldnt be ignored. Taking precaution, he hid and very quietly tried to sneak closer to his home.

Long story short he found his mother captured, beaten, with bound hands at the mercy of 3 men with weapons in their hands. With the setting sun falling quickly, he remembers the orange reflecting off her silky white hair, the defeated look in her eye like she had given up after a long fight. Just before the sun disappeared behind the horizon, the beautiful but broken face of his mother turned to Inari, knowing her child was there. He wanted to run forward and save her, knowing he was out numbered and out muscled he wanted to try. But as if reading his mind, she shook her head and closed her eyes as the men lifted her from the ground and took her.

Inari never saw his mother after that. And blames himself for not even trying to help that day. Since then hes been on his own and has become weary and cautious about humans. His mother uses to tell him that he shouldnt trust them, as most were predjudice and hunted or turned Kitsune's away thanks to the myths of them bringing trouble everywhere they went.

His life has hardened the boy, and lives now in solitude just trying to get through life, day by day.

Equipment:
-A wakizashi: stolen from a drunken samurai; this is the short sword samurais carry with their katana. Its uses are for close combat, seppuku, and beheading your defeated opponent.
-A small coin purse that is tied onto the rope around his waist that keeps his white haori cloat closed.

Extra:
-He wears a red cloth tied around his neck in fox form or human form (like a bandana), when its hot, or performing tasks that call for physical labor, he'll tie it around his forehead

Kumo
1522437478490.png
Age: 1,234

Gender:
Male

Species:
Demon

Appearance description/extra details: The only things that you can't tell from the picture is his height, which is 11 feet tall, when he's standing straight up. His tongue is really, really long. It extends up to 20 feet.

Personality:

Kumo is an unscrupulous, self-serving character who is only out for himself. Power, glory, wealth, position, and anything that will make his life more comfortable is his goal. It matters not who gets caught in the middle, as long as he comes out smelling like a rose. This demon will lie, cheat, and kill anyone to attain his personal goals. Kumo is primarily concerned with himself and his own advancement. He has no particular objection to working with others or, for that matter, going it on his own. His only interest is in getting ahead. If there is a quick and easy way to gain a power, he takes full advantage of it. Although Kumo doesn't have an every-man-for-himself attitude, he has no qualms about betraying his friends and companions for personal gain.

Abilities:

Hot Stuff: Kumo's saliva is red for a reason. It's something close to magma, and it hardens really quickly. When it hardens, it's only a little tougher than baked clay. It's certainly more than enough to keep anyone in place until it's broken. His other body fluids, namely his blood share the same properties, though his blood hardens into a much tougher substance.

Unparalleled speed: If you can't guess what this is, Kumo is stupidly quick. I-saw-a-blur-and-the-guy-next-to-me-died quick. Though due to his size, it takes a bit for him to get to full speed, but usually his initial burst of momentum when he's moving is more than enough to overwhelm anyone who's not prepared for it. His speed goes more than just how fast he can run. When he's got a sword, or two, or four, and the two razor sharp appendages on his shoulders, he's even more dangerous.

Aerokinesis: If his speed wasn't already enough, he can control the wind to make him even faster, or if he wanted to blast people away, given they aren't too heavy. He can't conjure tornados or anything, but his gusts of wind should be strong enough potentially break bones if someone thinks they can withstand it.

Third Eye: The third eye on Kumo's forehead isn't always open. It only opens when he needs, it. When this eye opens, every aspect of him is strengthened. His senses become more acute, and his speed and strength tripled. He could hold this eye open for an infinite amount of time, but due how vulnerable it is and how much pain it could potentially cause him, it remains shut mostly.

Swordsmen: While his fighting style may seem wild and based purely off of instinct, Kumo is actually a master of the Hyoho Niten Ichi-ryu technique, in which for a normal samurai, both a Katana and Wakizashi would be held above the head. One to defend while the other simultaneously attacked. This technique was adapted to Kumo's extra arms and speed to allow him to still utilize the technique effectively. He throws in many factors like wild and unpredictable footwork and flashy and quick movements that are largely unnecessary to throw opponents off.

Whirlwind: Kumo can spin incredibly fast without getting dizzy at all. Without using his power over the wind, he can turn himself into a blur of flashing claws or blades that only the sharpest of reflexes could defend themselves against. If he spins fast enough, anyone would be lucky enough to block one attack without being ripped apart, though, if they did block it, there's no telling what would happen to their blade, or their arm. With the assistance of Aerokinesis, Kumo can create a barrier of wing that swirls relative to Kumo's direction to make him spin faster. The wind's are so strong that arrows are immediately blown off course and sucked into the barrier. They're swirled around as if they were in a tornado until Kumo stops.

Weaknesses:

Kumo is easily defeated mentally. He'll fight like, well, a demon only if he has full confidence that he can win. It only takes a small measure of reasonable doubt for him to give up. This doesn't particularly mean that he's just going to let him kill you, but, you will more than likely win the fight if you show him that you have a chance to win. Even then, a much easier way of winning is to call him names. He can't take any kind of insult. Usually, it'll make him angry, but if you keep the insults flowing, he might actually cry - maybe.

Doing any kind of damage to the third, small eye on Kumo's forehead has a high chance of killing him almost instantly. This weak point is a well guarded secret, but a good archer can most certainly get lucky, though with that kind of accuracy, getting a headshot on Kumo is likely to kill him anyways. Even grazing it with a sharp edge is enough to put Kumo in enough pain to make him pass out.

Kumo's best sense is his sight. More times than most, if you're in front of him or in his peripherals, you will be spotted. His hearing is not as acute. Sneaking up on him is fairly easy, given that you're actually good at sneaking.

Backstory:
"Just one of them demons to have gotten sealed away."

Equipment:

Four iron sheaths placed horizontally on his back. They never conceal the entire weapon's blade, but do more than enough to keep it in place during Kumo's acrobatics.

*Extra:
The appendages on his back can grow longer, to the point where he can walk on them. They're strong enough to fully support his weight and more, and they're also the strongest thing on his body. The same goes with his tail, but he doesn't use it so often, as it's not as fast or sharp as his shoulder appendages. They'll still get the job done, though.

Akechi Mitsuhide

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Appearance
Akechi is a young man, his face mostly clear of blemish, wrinkle, and scar. Markings do not cover his body, besides from a tattoo he bears upon his right shoulder of his clan. His brow sits almost permanently furrowed and his face set to a grim tone, the edges of his mouth slightly tilted downwards, almost a frown, but not quite. His eyes are a deep brown. Nothing too spectacular there. He is 5'9", and has a strong build from many years of fighting, training, and wandering.

(Now, here's the fun stuff.)

Personality

Akechi is most concerned with what he feels is 'real'. He is a skilled swordsman, and carries the entire responsibility of one as well, seeing it upon himself to right clear wrongs that come across him. He believes that as a person, that one should be able to defend oneself, and defend another if ever need be, and has always stood by that. Stubborn in his beliefs, he isn't hesitant to intervene in conflict, whether it be of marital, physical, or mental, and provide a clear moral compass for all involved in such.

A strong believer in the real instead of the make-believe, he does not believe in the rumors of 'Kitsune', 'Half-Demons', 'Demons', or the legendary Swordsman. He has seen enough children play as if they were them, and hopeful/nihilistic adults wish for these fantasies to show themselves. Nonsense. Even if the seal with-holding 'an ancient enemy' were to break, he believed that enough time has passed for whomever was put in there to starve or something. No mortal could last such a long time sealed away, more so to have a story become myth, passed down from generation to generation. When asked for an opinion of 'The Legend', Akechi replies with, "That man was brave and very honorable. I can see why many wish to seek him during times of strife." He is more concerned with politics between Daimyos than the fantasies of the younglings.

Abilities

Akechi is a considerably normal man, he does not possess inherent spiritual or unnatural abilites of the sort. However, he is unparalleled in the art of the blade, having been trained by a famous teacher who was part of the Mitsuhide clan, only before leaving without a trace after the fire incident. He is also accurate with a bow, another wonder that training has brought him. His sword is an average tachi: a blade made from varying types of steel, produced by a very skilled swordsmith whose design is to correctly laminate and insure the blade's sharpness and strength even after a fierce battle.

Usually, when given a fight without the use of enhancements like magic or having to slog through wave upon wave of men, Akechi will win, due to his superior training, lest it be against a master of an art, or an immortal demon who has trained most of their immortal life, or otherwise incredible beings of martial prowess. In the realm of battle however, his training will win him out against most foes who seek to defile what is good, and some beings of greater power with just a bit of luck and wit.

Weaknesses

As a true participant of the human race, Akechi is vulnerable to many things. Fire being namely one of them, due to a irrational childhood fear that he will always scold himself for, and never forget. Another being namely that Akechi is a duelist. He will almost always challenge another to a duel if need be, for if he were to fight multiple people at the same time, he would find himself in a much more difficult situation than if he would only have to worry about one fighter.

When given the chance however, he would always opt for a melee attack rather than a ranged attack with a bow. This reason being that he does not carry a bow with him. He always remembered despising the bow, it being inferior to the ways of the sword. As such, he is out of practice, and refuses to practice with it again, as he detests the idea of not being able to face another in honorable combat, rather than 'cheating', and using a weapon designed for volleys to simply aim at one person. He feels using bows is stupid, fighting archers is stupid, and ranged attacks are stupid, and does not use ranged weapons; especially in the face of an overwhelming enemy.

Backstory

Ever since he was born into the Mitsuhide family, Akechi has been a warrior. He was taught at the ripe age of 5 how to wield a blade and fire a bow, and by the age of 8 he was trained in the art of horse-riding. He was part of a wealthy family, who had always been in control of a small piece of the Northern kingdom. He never knew anything else besides from training, learning, and reading, he always served under his father, who oversaw his teachings, and ocassionally stepped in as another teacher from time to time on the intricacies of fighting, or the helping hand in mounting a horse. There wasn’t ill will between Akechi and his mother either, who had various maids and house servants help her clean the mess that Akechi made, and create feasts every night for the house and any travelers to rest their weary bones, the only expected payment being the story the traveller had experienced, or the reason they ventured far, or a simple life story for those who were poor and had nowhere else to go, as so everyone who was at the dining table could be entertained.

It was during one of these various dinners, at the age of 17, that house Mitsuhide suddenly burst into blue flames. Many made it out of the inferno alive, but with scars that will stay with them forever. Others weren’t as fortunate as the fine architecture crumbled on top of them, condemning their lives to the house forever. It was unknown who exactly started the fire, but all agreed that the flame so bright and blue was unnatural. From then on, the Mitsuhide family hadn’t lived as comfortably as before, having to sleep nights in a home that wasn’t their own, attending dinners hosted by the travellers they had been so kind to in previous years. The meetings were joyous, but the purpose of them were sorrowful. Since then, he had vowed to serve those who needed his help the most, as others have done so for his own family.

Inventory

The things Akechi carries aren’t anything too spectacular. What he does carry with him however serve great purpose in his journey. His carries with him his tachi blade. His livelihood. He brings with him a sharpening kit for his blade, a waterskin that he can sling over his shoulder, his set of yoroi samurai armor, which he keeps well maintained, since it is one of his few possessions, and a journal for which he writes his experiences in if he ever were to die, and for him to practice the art of doodling.

Extra

  • Akechi has always been afraid of fire, and his house burning down is the equivilant of spiders having taken over your bedroom.
  • Though recent news has come of demons and other mystical creatures, even hunts for the Kitsune, Akechi refuses to acknowledge them.
  • Yes, Akechi does have the occasional bout of loss of female companionship, Akechi denies his interest in women, proclaiming that he is one with his blade, and that none will be able to sever the bond between him and it. (No, he is not gay.)
  • Though not many recognise the son of the welcoming family from long ago, the son recognises many of the wanderers, travellers, and adventurers that sat at his table. Not often does he meet one now, but when he does, he rekindles the easy friendship he and his family offered long ago.
  • Though yes, in all technicality Akechi is a ronin, he would rather commit seppuku than to admit so. He instead replies with, "No, my Daimyo is Toyotomi Mitsuhide."

Susurrus, Kin of Susurro and Fraus of the Glittering Plain, Beast Ambassador of the Stars, Minstrel of the Wailing Night.

Human Given Names and Titles: The Whispering King (Sasayaki no ō), The Pale Moth (Peirumosu)
1522401416020.png
"She gave her heart
to a beast in the stars,
and worshipped
Pale Moths in the night."

Age:
1,932

Gender:
Male

Species:
Demon

Appearance description/extra details:
Susurrus in his natural state stands at roughly 9 feet tall, though – like most anything with the demon – this attribute is easily and frequently changed.
The demon's body is not corporeal in the traditional earthly sense either, though Susurrus has been depicted as being broad shouldered with lanky arms and clawed hands. The creatures torso seems to be composed mostly of smoke and starlight, but sometimes it takes shape into a solid black humanoid form dotted with stars.
Wrapped tightly around his awkward frame, the demon adorns a thick cloak made from the silvery pelts of strange hellish fiends. This cloak is usually seen in a state of disrepair, as the moths that flutter around Susurrus will frequently chew on it.
As confusing and strange as Susurrus is, nothing is more bizarre than the creature's face (or rather, lack there of). Bordered by fur and a crown of horns, is what appears to be a void so deep and awful, that to stare into it is is to test ones own sanity. However, it is not just an emptiness inside this void, for occupying that endless blackness, is the light of a dying star, the light of which brightens and dims as Susurrus speaks and sings.

Personality:
Susurrus prides himself in knowing that he is unlike most demons. While many of his kind find rapture in slaughtering flocks of humans, razing and raping their villages, Susurrus allows the earth-kin to do the work for him. The Pale Moth is a clever deceiver, and finds great pleasure in gathering cults of worshippers to sign away their souls and make sacrifice in his name, as well as singing sweet songs of madness through the throng of a human populous, allowing them to slaughter each other for him. The Whispering King need not lift a finger.
Though Susurrus has spent many years in hell politicking, his true passions lie in music and the study of the human design. The demon has been known to get intimate with human suitors and may very well have a few half-breed children running about. He also enjoys human music. Though complex in its own right, earth music is far different from the choirs of The Wailing Night, and intrigues Susurrus.

Abilities:
Deal With the Devil: To feed his power, Susurrus will frequently create pacts with humans. The beast promises to help a being in the short term, and in the long term benefits from the creatures spiritual energies, and soul after death. Most commonly, Susurrus will target groups of oppressed people (Susurrus tends to favor oppressed women, for they're more easily seduced by a powerful figure such as he) and will have them form witch covens or cults. Sacrifices made in his name feed Susurrus and his ego.
Contracts made with Susurrus can be incredibly simple or massively complicated, but rarely is The Whispering King dishonest about the deals being made. A creature who has created a pact with the demon will be marked in some way, often with a demonic glyph upon their forehead. Should another demon find themselves consuming a creature under the influence of Susurrus – ultimately robbing the energies that are contractually obligated to go to Susurrus after the human's death – they might find themselves indebted to or even bound to Susurrus.

Illusion and Bodily Manipulation: Susurrus is a master of deception, as any good politician should be. Years in the scorned halls of hells courts has trained Susurrus to manipulate the truths of reality in subtle ways. Of course on the earth realm this is much easier. After all, humans are so much more gullible.
- Can alter their physicality (usually to appear human/more human)
- Can cause auditory and visual hallucinations as well as harmless sensory effects (the more targets affected by this, the weaker the hallucinations. The less intelligent the target is, the easier it is for Susurrus to pass these illusions off as reality).
- Can vanish from sight and conceal power from others. If low on spiritual energy Susurrus can turn into smoke when fleeing, though he becomes incredibly susceptible to holy energies and magic in this state (more so than he is normally).

Songs of the Wailing Night: As minstrel of the Wailing Night, Susurrus is trained in the ancient songs of hell. These compositions can be used as violent psychic attacks to weaken ones sanity, unholy boons to those in a contract with or allied with the beast, and in some cases, the songs can be used to charm another.

Moth Speak: Susurrus uses moths as his messengers and debt collectors.

Skulker: Susurrus is fantastic at evading detection, and finds comfort in the darker, shadowed corners of the world. When in his less corporeal state, Susurrus can travel through shadows.

Keen Observer: Susurrus is very good at reading other creatures and tends to be able to find out a lot about others simply by interacting with them.

Weaknesses:
Susurrus is constantly lending his strength to those who have signed one of his contracts, and therefore is physically weaker than most demons. While The Whispering King's wits and intelligence are unmatched, he's not much for combat in a fair fight and has to rely on his deception and sneaking skills. Also, a divine spell or weapon will cause Susurrus to become to weak to resist attacks from normal weapons.
However, amongst all the weapons humans and spirit-folk posses, there is one that has nearly ruined Susurrus in the past. Creature of vanity that he is, prayer and worship are the easiest way to disarm and appease It muddles his mind and can frequently get in the way of his thoughts.

Backstory:
In the deepest layers of hell, amidst the infernal courts, powerful demon lords bicker and shout to one another in halls gilded in obsidian and flesh, and amongst the damned bureaucrats howling over contracts and red tape, was once a Demon Lord by the name of Susurro, who sat proudly upon a stygian throne of twisted metal and bone.
Though that demon has long since retired into a deep slumber, his throne and presence are still remembered in the fiendish halls of the infernal courts, and his legacy lives on through his child, Susurrus.

Susurrus was the offspring of Demon Lord Susurro and Fallen Angel Fraus, and thusly is an interesting and unique breed of demon. Though he posses no real angelic qualities or abilities, he does seem to posses some form of corrupted inner light (the dying star within his head) that is a constant reminder as to his origin. The only other real quality that Susurrus shares with his mother is his beautiful and haunting singing voice.
When Susurrus was no more than a young imp, he strived to become just like his father. Though he spent his early days in the care of his mother, who often tried teaching him about magic, he found himself spending most of his time pondering over ancient and foul texts about the political landscape of hell and its history. Susurrus began absorbing as much knowledge as he could from an early age and spent as much time as he could on earth, where he began collecting souls and spiritual energies in an attempt to grow stronger. His first real success as a bureaucratic demon was when he tricked a failing merchant into selling away his soul and unleashing the wrath of a god upon a small village. It’s a bit of a long story, though ask him and he might regale you with a song of his triumph.
After that, Susurrus continued to climb the political ladder, conquering many demons along the way.
Through the teaching’s of his mother, Susurrus discovered his knack for certain manipulations and practiced these skills within the infernal courts.

By the end of Susurro’s campaign, Susurrus had gained his title as Beast Ambassador of the Stars and became responsible for the confusing and thankless work that lie between the heavens and hells. Susurro couldn’t have been prouder of the son he had raised, and knew that when he finally retired, the Infernal Courts would be left in good hands.

Though his job is never ending, Susurrus looks for any opening to travel to earth. He has seen most of the human’s home world and done business in most of its corners, but his fascination with the human condition is relentless and thus Susurrus relished his time with them.
During his visits to earth, Susurrus experimented as much as he could, often making “laboratories” in small hovels far away from civilization to study. Here he would conduct research and, should the mood sway him, procreate with a human suitor. Most of the subsequent half-breeds created were collected by Susurrus later and consumed (he finds the spiritual energies of the newly created euphoric) or experimented on, but some were ignored and left in the world.
When in hell, Susurrus spent most of his time either in the Infernal Courts, or perched in the place where the Wailing Night meets the Howling Ocean, singing and composing music both human and infernal. However, the Beast has taken root once again on earth, and has been conducting his foul works.

Quote & Theme Song:
"There is a tall man
Who is here in my room
And he makes me shiver down to my spine
The city lie still
There is nothing outside
Underneath the red sky filled with snow

There is a tall man
I think he is waiting
And he makes my heart grow cold
And sometimes he speaks
In whispers he says
I will let you live, but no one else"

Kumo Age: 1,234

Gender:
Male

Species:

Equipment:

Absolutely nothing.

*Quote & Theme Song:
(Finally, add a quote from somewhere that you feel sums up your character. And/Or a song you feel pictures them.)

Well done long. I like this manz very much. I would like a bit more explanation on what appendages specifically you are talking about because im not sure how many arms he has or how many extra appendages but nonetheless, accepted. Very well done.

Wb ace. I accepted him once already so welcome aboard once again. If you want to add anything, lemme know

View attachment 419218
"She gave her heart
to a beast in the stars,
and worshipped
Pale Moths in the night."

Age:
1,932

Gender:
Male

Species:
Demon

Appearance description/extra details:
Susurrus in his natural state stands at roughly 9 feet tall, though – like most anything with the demon – this attribute is easily and frequently changed.
The demon's body is not corporeal in the traditional earthly sense either, though Susurrus has been depicted as being broad shouldered with lanky arms and clawed hands. The creatures torso seems to be composed mostly of smoke and starlight, but sometime it takes shape into a solid black humanoid form dotted with stars.

More to be added later maybe.
Backstory:
"Just one of them demons to have gotten sealed away."

Just kidding, I will have an actual backstory.

Extra:

Name:
Susuri, Kin of Sussurus, The Phantom of Edo

Age:
25

Gender:
Female

Species:
Half-Demon

Appearance
Susuri looks ghostly due to her pale white skin and hair that seem to glow with starlight. Her eyes are pure white and are vacant of emotion at all times. She reaches almost six feet in height and her build is extremely curvy but lacking in muscles. She has never touched a weapon so her hands are soft and free from calluses and she is unfamiliar with physical exertion.
She's not very good at trying to not draw attention to herself and walks around like a ghost in white, billowy dresses to exaggerate her natural aura.

Personality:
She’s extremely quiet for the most part, rarely speaking more than a few sentences at a time. She doesn’t enjoy being alone, but being in solitude isn’t uncomfortable and often aids her work.

Although she kills without guilt, she doesn’t take pleasure in it but simply sees it as a tool to gain her strength.

She utilizes things around her constantly and can easily analyze a bad situation and turn it around. She thinks before acting and is always the last to make a decision.

Abilities:
-Her body can become intangible for a certain amount of time and cannot be hit nor touched. Items she wears or is holding have the effect happen to them as well, and if she is holding someone they can have it happen to them. It's difficult to do with something large or more than one person and she will often fail at it under these circumstances.
-She can change some parts of her physical appearance due to her demon lineage, but nothing major. Her face will often reconstruct until it seems almost unrecognizable, stretching and filling with sharp teeth.
9f1b5cb4b6963debaf78dd5c46eabdb3.jpg

-She can form white light and focus it in different ways, varying from a soft ball of light to a short ray capable of melting metal. The farther away she is from the target, the weaker the light is.
-She can “control” minds in a certain aspect by nudging her victims in the direction she wants. Some people are more susceptible to it while it fails completely on others.
-Much like her father, the Pale Moth himself, the winged creatures are hers to command. A few follow her very closely like dogs and she’s become quite fond of them.
Weaknesses:
Anything that has to do with hand to hand combat or a weapon is the half-demon’s weakness. She has no experience in either department. Although her magic is powerful in some aspects, she still isn’t as powerful as most, although her consumption of spiritual energy has boosted her abilities over the years. She has no natural armor nor wears it so she is at constant risk.

Backstory:
Most know nothing of the woman who is rarely seen except at night perhaps in the woods near the city of Edo. She appears near tired travelers settling down after a long night's ride and her gentle laughter can be heard all around them as if she's the breeze herself. Her voice is light and playful as she coaxes them away from their fires, their mount's worried neighs ignored as they nearly trip over their bedrolls towards her daunting figure. Moths whip by their face and get tangled in their hair the closer they get to her until they gather in clouds, the sounds of wing beats the only thing they hear. This is the half-demon's favorite part, and she walks towards them with her arms outspread as if welcoming them home. Her face is emotionless, the giggle and laughter from before was nothing but an enchantment. The half-demon has never laughed sincerely in her lifetime.
She sings to them, her voice haunting as it reverberates through their bones and sends chills down their spines, yet they continue their slow march towards the beautiful figure. They're too slow to react to her mouth elongating, her lips spreading until it reaches her ears, the drool sliding down the pointed teeth nestled in her jaws. Their spiritual energy is consumed first, then their body. There's no reason to waste the rest of the kill. The victim's belongings are taken and the horses untied to run off to wherever.

She returns to her house, a two story building that once was owned by a successful doctor. His bones are in the backyard where she left him all those years ago.

The place is well-kept thanks to the woman's distaste for messes. Books line the shelves and the tables and chairs yet she knows every single one's exact location. They were all acquired by those who dared enter her part of the forest and she is proud of her collection. She reads and she studies and she ponders. She's been doing this since she was 10 and had ran away from home after her mother was killed in a fire that was meant to kill the both of them. She had ran for miles and collapsed at this very door. The former owner and fed her and given her a place to sleep. She had bitten and ripped his jugular when he had tried slipping his hand under her dress.
She lived off the money he had hidden under his straw mattress like the idiot he was for a while, making visits to the city when food was low. Residents whispered about the pale little girl with the snow white eyes and hair. It soon became a chore to enter the city and instead, Susuri slipped in at night and stole what she needed from homes with her powers she was slowly gaining control of. She was scared to use her powers sometimes, for her mother warned her about her father. She was careful, but her anger sweltered. Why should she cower in fear that her father would consume her spiritual energy? She'd have to kill him first. After she confronted that fear, she became more aggressive. She started attacking any who wandered the outskirts of the city at night and made sure to hide the bodies. She went for those who had no families or homes and her actions were unnoticed for a while but soon tales of a ghostly figure who drifted around the city at night caused people to be inside their homes before sundown. She retreated into the woods hoping they would stop being afraid but realized preying on the occasional traveler was more rewarding. She grew stronger with each kill and continues to this day, waiting for the day she has to face her father.

Equipment:
-A few books
-clothing ranging from dresses to a few expensive kimonos she’s acquired.
-a flute she found and plays when she’s bored or nervous

*Extra:
-She'll never admit it but shares a lot of traits with her father, including his love of poetry and music.
-She hates going out in daylight because she feels that she loses her ethereal qualities that she enjoys so much.

*Quote & Theme Song:

I was the ghost you saw before,

I was the shadow beyond your door,

Just call the doctor and take your medicine,

Forget the exorcist and devote all sin

To the phantom under the moonlight.

Name:
Hinata Kagami

Age:
37 this cycle

Gender:
Female

Species:
Spirit user - Bird

Appearance description/extra details:
Hinata is 5'4" as a human and 6'1" as a bird. Add more later

Personality:
Hinata's uncanny ability to make friends anywhere she goes is paramount to her positive attitude and hopeful outlook. Upbeat and spunky, she tends to find joy and happiness in others even when they cannot find it themselves. This unrelenting optimism causes her to find hope even when it is lost, making her somewhat delusional. Not everything can be fixed, but that won't stop her from trying.

Her adventurous spirit leads her into danger more often than necessary, for the need to know outweighs the risk of danger. Without restraint, she often finds herself plunging into the unknown without purpose or thought, allowing herself to live in the moment rather than planning for the future. Only when the danger is obvious does she take a moment to consider the consequences.

One for mercy and repentance, she is never keen on unnecessary suffering and pain. She'd rather help out and help carry the burden than watch the innocent suffer. She recognizes that not everyone can get what they want and that sometimes death is necessary, but there shouldn't be a reason anyone should have to endure so much pain in the meantime. Sometimes, pain is inevitable, though she does not know how to handle it.

11-phoenix-fantasy-artwork.jpg
Abilities:
Sacred Fire - The blue flames produced by this beast reflect the deity Amaterasu, from which this creature's magic is assumed to be born. These flames are unique in that they are naturally inextinguishable by normal means and do not spread without additional input from the user. Flames disappear when doused with holy water or after the user is not within a 15m radius. The power of this fire is augmented against strictly unholy entities such as demons and cursed items and does not affect strictly holy entities such as gods and blessed items.

Holy Cloak - The feathers of this creature are coated with redish-orange holy fire that mimic the natural color of the feathers. This cloak acts as a defense mechanism and will burn anyone who tries to touch the creature without its knowledge. This can be toggled is a state of unease, prudence, or distress or as a response to being startled. This ability gives the creature a continuous soft glow.

Divine Tears - This creature's tears produce holy water that can extinguish flames or cure minor wounds.

Consecration - When this creature dies through natural means, it spontaneously combusts into a pile of ash that has the ability to regenerate the creature. Normally, this process takes about 10 minutes. If the process is disturbed either through ash scattering or otherwise, the process takes longer, up to a day. When reborn, this creature retains rudimentary memories of previous lives, most notably instinct and major facts such as her name and abilities.

Weaknesses:
Physical attacks made from this creature are comparatively to its fire, making her physical combat weak and close combat unfavorable.

In addition, aside from its cloak, this creature has no natural defenses aside from what any bird would have, making it rely on agility and flight.

Holy fire is still bound to the laws of physics and is thus useless if it cannot reach its target through diversion or obstruction.

Healing takes time and cannot be efficiently used under a strict time constraint such as in the middle of the battle if not in a place of safety.

Weak to miasma (?) which is a natural cause of death.

Backstory:
Hinata awoke in a forest, her eyes flicking awake as she tried to gain her bearing. Before moving, she briefly looked around and stared at the flowers beside her and the trees looming over her. The call of a bird attracted her attention, then a cricket, then a frog. She quickly identified them as such, but was unaware of why she should know such a thing. Standing up, she shook herself and ruffled her feathers, quickly preening herself back to her elegant poise. This process was unfamiliar, but did not raise suspicion. Without a second thought, she began hobbling through the trees despite her overwhelming urge just to fly instead.

Her sense of urgency did not resurface immediately, as she still felt lost and tired. It was not until a clearing where the sun dappled through the tree branches that she was able to see the sky and the sun beyond. For a moment, she stared at it, feeling a familiarity that warmed her. She raised her wings and crouched, prepared for takeoff into the everlasting blue. For a moment, she allowed the wind to guide her, feeling her fresh feathers glide with the breeze. However, this didn't last too long, and she was forced to land after reaching the edge of the forest.

Perched on a tree, she began to recover from fatigue, allowing herself the time to preen in the process. She heard sounds from a distance that sounded like they might be inviting and a good place to go. She was interested in the clamber it produced and the mystery of not being able to see it. She hovered down to the ground and began her trek towards the mysterious new place, excited to explore again.

As she arrived on the horizon of the settlement, she changed into a form that was human-like, but small. It was odd, but she knew it was okay and continued walking. Once among others, she began to inspect them with wonder, trying to imagine how many different faces a person could have. A few seemed familiar, as if she'd seen them before. Soon after, she would return to her age old quest with a fresh perspective.

As she regained her height, she familiarized herself with the shards of her memory, beginning to reform the life she bore before. Aside from how to buy bread and how to hunt, she remembered her lifelong goal and began to pursue it once more. Given her abilities, she believed herself to be connected with the goddess of the sun and the legends associated with her. She was on a mission to find the Yata no Kagami, the 8 mirrors. She knew an unreasonable amount about the subject, though she still did not quite know where to look. She had some leads, but nothing consistent.

Hinata was quick to become amiable to people she met, a bright smile scoring her face as she spoke sweetly and smoothly. She never saw any reason not to be, and it tended to come with perks. Most notably, she was always on the lookout for more information on her ultimate goal, though she often never found it. On the side, she would always allow herself to take a break and explore something off track for a change. Most rumors were tangible and feasible to do within a short time, leaving promise of a quick close either way. Her dream, however, would not follow the same pattern.

Through the rumor mill, she learned of the demon uprising that was sure to return, striking her with more urgency than curiosity. No one else seemed to share the sentiment when the news was shared among comrades in the tavern. She quickly excused herself and allowed herself a moment to breathe in the fresh air of the night. Thus began her newest venture in side questing, one that became so necessary to her that she needed not to debate with herself. But why?

Equipment:
A pack with many scrolls and maps, most of which have to do with her search for the Yaya no Kagami. Others have to do with just adventuring in general. Some are useful for random pieces of information, but mostly they are for navigation and exploration.

"I look no day older than 2000!"

Gender:

Male

Species:

Demon

Appearance description/extra details:

He has a very long, thin tail with a bit of fluff on the end.
His eyes are orange but appear to be yellow when it's dark.

Personality:

Ashura is the embodiement of Pride.
Pride comes before the Downfall, yes, but if you have as much Pride as Ashura, you're pretty much screwed if you aren't him.

He's always mocking others when they make a mistake or lose a battle and treats them as scum, laughing about them and what not, but when he makes a mistake, he always says that this mistake was part of a bigger plan and that he had to make that mistake in order to set certain things into motion to trigger an event.
The same goes for when he loses a battle.

While Ashura is very full of himself, he isn't stupid.
He treats Demons who are obviously superior to him like friends or... well... superiors and wouldn't want to start a fight them.
He rather tries to stick to their side for a bit and figure out there weaknesses while keeping himself covered and avoid any fights near them.

Ashura also slightly respects those who are brave enough to face their mistakes and loses and treats those a bit less scummy, but still not very good.

He hates people who are, like him, full of themselves and then refuse to fight against someone, and he doesn't hold back to show his hatred towards those.
He would rather kill one of his fellow demons who runs away from afight than a Human who is brave enough to fight against that demon and puts his live on the line to defeat him.
Things like that can even make him lose his cover when he follows a stronger demon around.

Despite his capabilities, he isn't the one to end a battle quick and rather test his opponent's strength.
He also isn't the guy who would use any trick to win a battle if the Situation doesn't call for it, but he is fine when his Enemy uses a trick to get him since that just adds to his amusement.

Abilities:

<Restoration:>
Ashura's wounds heal insanely fast, closing almost instantly after the damage was inflicted.
However, the more wounds he needs to heal, the slower the healing process gets.
And while he can regrow limbs that were cut off, they don't regrow instantly.
it takes up to three minutes for a limb to regrow.
He can also regrow his head, but that takes almost an hour and his body can't move without head.
If his limbs are cut off, he could also put hem back on, but that needs to be done within 30 seconds since after those 30 seconds, the wound from the cut off limb would have healed to the point where he couldn't put it on anymore.
P.S.: His healed wounds leave no scars.

<Steel Skin:>
His steel is as hard or even harder than steel, which makes inflicting wounds insanely hard and even impossible fora normal Human.

<Inhuman Strength:>
Ashura has an extrem amount of strength.
Even compared to Demons, Ashura has an abover average Strength Stat and some Demons are even terrified of that.
He can easily wield his sword, the "Butcher", which's blade is as long as he is tall, 1 meter broad and multiple times heavier than him and still swing it like a normal Katana.
He can easily deform steel by a light squeeze.

<Insane Speed:>
Due to his great strength, it's easy for him to simply move from one location to another by simply kicking into the heels a bit.
His great strength gives him speed, so he's ale to reach an Insane Speed with just pushing himself off the ground with full force.
However, this results in the ground cracking or being deformed when he runs at full speed.

<Animal:>
His senses are many times better than those of an Animal, which gives him an advantage in battle.
When in Danger, he can act out of pure Instinct and go ona rampage.

<Coffin of Rescue:>
Once every 300 years, a Coffin can rescue Ashura.
The Coffin automatically appears when his Head got cut off.
However, he can also call for it whenever he wants too.

The downside is that, once that coffin is called upon, it sets Ashura into a 200 year sleep.
The coffin is buried several miles deep into the ground at the spot where he got his head cut off or called the Coffin.

He doesn't like the coffin if he has to be honest.
However, he can choose to sleep longer than 200 years if he wants to.

<Experience:>
He's almost 3000 years old.
Self-Explanatory

Weaknesses:

<Pride:>
His Pride can lead to him underestimating his enemy and get him killed.

<Battle Fanatism:>
Because of his habit of starting slow in a battle and test the Enemy's strength, he could get himself killed.
His Pride and his Battle Fanatism somehow work together, which is why his Personality is his Arch-Nemesis.

<Horns (Prominent):>
Ashura has six horns in total: 2 rsather large and 4 small horns which are somewhat hidden under his hair and are hardly visible.
His two larger Horns are rather sensitive and once they get cut off, Ashura loses a great deal of his Physical Power, that what makes him so dangerous, for about 10 minutes.
(10 minutes are the time his Horns need to regenerate.)
Once cut off, Ashura can't put them back on anymore unlike his other limbs.
His 4 other Horns just make him lose his concentration for a moment before they grow back.

<Head:>
Wounds on his head heal a tiny bit slower, but if you manage to cut off his ear or scratch out his eye, you will notice that it takes much more time to heal then other things.
same goes for his jaw.
If his jaw gets ripped off, he can't put it back on.

<Tail:>
His Tail is his number one weak spot.
Grabbing him by his Tail will cause him to lose his concentration and his balance for a moment.
If you manage to cut it off, his strenght will drop down to the point, where he is only slightly stronger than a Human, which then again makes him unable to wield his Sword.

<Low Stamina:>
His Body may be insanely Strong, but his Stamina is barely average for a Demon of his class.
After an 10 Minute all out battle, he already shows signs of severe exhaustion.
He can pull up a 20 Minute battle on full Power maximum before he needs a break.
However, his Stamina Restoration is high, so he only needs a Five Minute Break.

Backstory:

Ashura was a very strong Demon since he's been born.
With every bit of Energy he absorbed, he got mightier and mightier, surpassing many Demons in terms of strength within only 100 years.
With 567, he invented the Coffin of Rescue, also called the Coffin of eternal Sleep and he first set it to use when he was around 600.

When he was younger, he was known to ravage the Forests and destroy them, feeding on all the Spiritual Energy.
He was ruthless, killing everything in his way.
The Ravager was his Name back then.
However, after leveling so many Forests, he soon got bored and started to play with the things inside the Forests. He began to play with lives.
How long could someone hold out against him?
He wondered. He was curious.
Do these Animals taste as good as Spiritual Energy? Do they taste better when they are Dead or Alive?
So many Questions were to answer.
He saw everything from a new perspective.
He saw the Life of other things different than he used to...

Entertainment.

However, playing with Lifes started to get boring so he looked for something else what could entertain him, and he should find something...
The Heat of a Battle.
Winning. Being superior to others. Being stronger than others.

But with his ever growing strength, there soon was no one to match him, until he lost his first battle against someone very specual and funny.
That feeling of a Lose... it surprised him, but it was kinda exciting.
Figuring out why he lost, trying to think of ways to eliminate him and BOOM.

From that day on, Ashura lost to many other Demons, but most of them were killed by him shortly after.
With every Lose, he grew even stronger.

After he spent 2550 years of fighting, and 200 years of sleeping because he was trying out his Coffin, He lost his Interest in Fighting and decide to go to sleep in hs coffin, sleeping for 300 years.
7 years later, the War started.
He missed his oppurtunity for an incredible fight as he stepped into the coffin.
This is why he doesn't like the coffin very much.

Equipment:

Quote & Theme Song:

For what does the P stand, you ask?
Plain Brutality... since I need my Fun." - Ashura

<Head:>
Wounds on his head heal a tiny bit slower, but if you manage to cut off his ear or scratch out his eye, you will notice that it takes much more time to heal then other things.
same goes for his jaw.
If his jaw gets ripped off, he can't put it back on.

<Tail:>
His Tail is his number one weak spot.
Grabbing him by his Tail will cause him to lose his concentration and his balance for a moment.
If you manage to cut it off, his strenght will drop down to the point, where he is only slightly stronger than a Human, which then again makes him unable to wield his Sword.

<Low Stamina:>

"Butcher", A Sword that weighs about a 800kg and is 2 meters tall.
Ashura can't really fight with a Sword, but in his Hands, everything is as destructive as something could get.

Extra:
No

Quote & Theme Song:

"The R in Pride stands for Reservation, because ending it too quick is a sign of being afraid you might be beaten, the I for Intelligence, since you should never attack without any plan, the D for Demolition, since no Fight goes without breaking something and the E stands for the end, since it needs to end, otherwise it would be a farce and not a fight.
For what does the P stand, you ask?
Plain Brutality... since I need my Fun." - Ashura
Its... nicely written but you do realize that no one is capable of coming even hairswidth to actually bringing any real harm to your character. You are ridiculously strong, inhumanely fast, skin that basically cant be cut, a healing factor that puts wolverine's to shame (which they cant even get through the skin to harm anyway), and if all else fails, you have a get out of jail free card thats prevents death.

Your first two weaknesses contradict each other. He cant be prideful/cocky af but also cunning and patient, watching his opponents. They basically cancel each other out and... yeah. Not to mention the "pride" issue is something I specifically mention not to do in the character skeleton.

His horns are weak. Great. No one is capable of hitting them tho And its negated by your healing factor.

Head injuries are negated by hraling factor and nothing can touch you or cut through the skin anyway so this is, again, void.

His tail. Great. No one can catch him, it grows back in a few minutes, ONLY his strength is negated. Not his speed or defenses or healing factor or....anything. not to mention it cant be cut anyway

If he got tired quickly then okay. But the guy can fight at his FULL POWER. So take all of his abilities and multiply by cancer, for 20 whole minutes and to top it off, he only need 5 minutes to recover completely.

If I need to actually say that this character wouldnt even be accepted in a C-rate, low budget, hentai flick then it might be better if you take this character elsewhere. Cuz idk wth you were thinking, assuming this was gonna get anything except flat out denied.

Full Name:
Inari Arai

Age:

Gender:
Male

Species:
Kitsune

Theme/Quote:
FAr too self-conscious like always, love. Its perfectly fine hahaha. Accepted
