Fantasy Return to darkness

Asura had been shopping with his new denith friend as he watched his young scaly friend talk prices down and look at items as if they never existed in his world while that happened asura bought 2lb of apples and some meat and vegetables, he scanned the shopkeepers buying seasonings and biscuits with the good prices cause of Elril after a walking around more his new friend had wasted 300 gold coins on a stave and saw him hold onto it for dear life, asura saw mana flowing out of the young denith when he held the stave he blinked as the mana changed color every few seconds as he relized that the denith has no training or his mana would be one color asura smiled as he thought of a way to help his new found companion but before he could tell him the young denith was already at a cart salesmen "hey bronze do you see his mana too" he said petting the horses neck while watching the mana float around the denith, bronze simply snorted agreeing with his rider "you think we should help him learn...i could also teach him how to use it as a close combat weapon as well" asura said while placing his hand on his rucksack feeling his fathers book.

but bronze seemed to have been drawn by something cause while asura was thinking the horse walked into a big tent where an old blind lady sat down in the middle surrounded by millions of items as the horse got closer the old lady smiled at him "well if it isn't a child of mana so many children have come today to be thrown into the dark yet again for answers no one should really be wondering" she said putting her hand on bronzes head, asura walked in and was almost taken back by how much mana presence came of the old women then like a candle being blown it was gone and his horse walked back to him snorted then went to wait outside as the old lady ears perked up "oh....young child...what have you done....take this and old friend of mine gave it to me....give it to that mana child when he is ready" she said handing him a black stave with runes on it what amazed him is that it was almost his body size just like his spear but when he grabbed it, the stave quickly shrunk to the size of a dagger and all the mana that flowed off it vanished as he heard another voice in his head "you are not meant for me" the words rang in his head as he looked at the old lady but all she did was wave her hand telling him the time for questions was now over.

Asura walked out the tent he was greeted with a snort and shove from his horse who eyed the stave in his riders hand he then circled his asura then stopped in front of asura and snorted "yes i would like to know too bronze" he said putting the stave in his rucksack

and gripped his spear tightly and thought of an idea as he cleared his mind and focused on his spear his hand then felt a small change as his spear was now a ring on his hand with small runes on the each side, bronze neighed in surprise as he witnessed something new as he saw his rider switch between spear and ring multiple times before snorting into asuras ear making him jump and bring him back to reality, he looked at his horse and left his spear in the ring state as he quickly went to look for Elril so they might find an inn with a pub so that he could eat and get some rest cause today was full of surprises and he didn't think he could handle more him and bronze both
(tried to catch up as much as i could sorry i took so long :/ )

[[ooc// No worries, I sorta text-walled anyway.]]

Finally, when Elril reconnected with Asura, he was more than excited to explain his ideas on the staff, "So chances are, if I practice with this and read up plenty before we go, I might be able to use this on the journey for everyone's benefit. I picked up a lot on enchanting items, so hopefully that'll actually be useful."

He beamed, proud of his decisions so far. As of this moment, he had absolutely no money left, aside from the tiny bit needed to stay a night like they agreed to and to stable his chosen pack-mule. He didn't quite spring the money needed for a horse that could be ridden, and especially not something to be ridden in battle, but he did get an old work mule from the farmer who owned that apple orchard. It was enough, not anything fancy, but it was as practical as anything else Elril did. He only bought reliable, generally used items and rations that would be generally tasteless but last for much longer. He hadn't gotten any new knives or utensils from the blacksmith, just an old hunting knife from the general store. No new books, just heavily-annotated pamphlets of beginner's magic. Admittedly, the markings all along the page were very helpful; they had apparently belonged to a student trying to learn the important parts for a test. Overall, he got a good bit for his money, the rowan staff included.

As they headed for the place Elril was already staying, he mentioned, "Say, we should try to get into contact with the others, see if they'd like to set out together for the forest. I hardly want to go there alone."

"Not that you're not good company, of course!," he appended. "Just that I don't think I'll be able to do much to defend us if something happens."

The horse Caliond was looking at suddenly reared up, ears flattened as it whinnied in pain and took off, breaking the tether. The Lyari watched as the equine bolted off through the crowd, welp, he wasn't going to buy that one. Just as he started to look at other horses, a male Denith he'd seen earlier in the Keep decided he was going to buy one.

This is why people need to pay attention and work as a group.

Then again, now he didn't have to worry about the horse. He saw that some of the others were gathering in a group, so he wandered over to join them, waving to those gathered.

Jeff nodded in thanks to Anna for singling out some lighter swords for him. He tested them out, whipping them around like a maniac and nearly decapitating some innocent crowd members.
"I like this one!" he chimed out, admiring his trusty weapon. The shininess of it reminded him of newly bought, unused pans, still wet from washing. However, when he looked around, Anna was nowhere to be found, having disappeared into the crowd.

"Anna?!" he yelled, walking through the crowd with the weapons he planned on purchasing...with her agreement, which is why he needed to find her! With him being shorter than most people, he kind of got easily lost...and ended up way at the far end of the market, an entirely different area filled with horses. He accidentally stabbed a horse's ass with his future sword, it whinnying and rearing in pain. In result, he screamed with his prepubescent voice and ran...right into the man he saluted to earlier.
Anna was relieved to find Jeffery. "What've you been doing?" she asked.

Normally, if she could find someone by following the chaos... they were her. Although there was that one fyrn she'd known of who could be traced by the trail of devastation.

Bronze let out a neigh in laughter and tapped denith as if congratulating him for finding out something. "Yea we should since. I haven't really met them" he said a little embarrassed as he noticed big rucksacks for sell and he looked at all the stuff they had and called the the denith over to help with the pricing.

Asura noticed a lyari waving to the rest of the group From the throne room, he fixed the big rucksacks in bronze who seemed peeved and flattened and pointed his ears forward in anger. "I'm sorry bronze it's just until the cart is ready" he said giving the horse a big juicy Apple who munched on it happely

After buying all the repairing supplies she could find, Mena had 200 gold left.

Her arms full of goods, she cocked her head considerably. "Ah! Beding. No wait, I have a cloak. Water, maybe?"

After about another 20 minutes, Mena came back to Lyra, with a very full back pack, and at least 7 pouches hanging off her belt. She pulled out the melted cheese from a small pocket, and tossed it into a nearby alley.

"Shall we go rondevous with the others?" She asked, her nose crinkling slightly as a wiff of cheese become smellable.

"It's a pretty large group," the Denith commented. "A lot of us will probably end up going different directions if we aren't careful. Best to get that figured out now."

He strode down the way alongside Asura, more than ready to relax one last time before they set off. More like than not a lot of them would be riding horses. So if any single person didn't get a horse, the entire group would have to travel their speed. Personally, Elril disliked the idea of several days on horseback, but he had to keep his cart and mule to at least keep pace and give himself time to read and practice.

He kept his grip on the novice's staff in his hand, commenting to his new friend, "I actually have no idea where to start with this. The books are pretty helpful, but they sorta expect you'll have a teacher..."

With the others convening near the palace again, Elril set out to meet the group. He could turn in for the night later, as soon as there was a plan. Drawing up to those who had finished buying what they needed, the young lizardman greeted them, "I trust you all have what you need? I went ahead and sprung for a cart, in case you got more than you can transport."

Sayr knew he'd be late to meet with the others but also figured he'd need a horse. He had gone to the stable without much haste as he figured they'd probably wait anyway and bought a riding horse for 100 gold pieces.

With 270 Gold in hand, a Water canteen and food, Freshly repaired Dual Weapons, and Some Oddly Styled Leather armor, and the Hooded Cape he had been wearing to begin with Sayr was as ready as he would be for whatever the hell this adventure entailed.

He began to stride toward the group holding the horse by the reigns, He quickly remembered he'd have to name this horse. He decided against naming it off impulse and instead was going to wait and see the horses personality both in action and during downtime.

As Sayr reached the group he came to a halt and looked around, Some of the people were dangerously overloaded, others dangerously unprepared, and one who seemed to be using mostly used items which confused sayr, but he didn't care enough to question it. Instead he focused on the group as a whole... a bunch of strangers, or acquaintances as some would have it, how did they plan to finish this adventure if they hardly knew each other, let alone trusted one another. "I certainly hope this adventure doesn't end in ruin over a stupid quarrel, or mistrust.." he thought to himself silently as he awaited the groups next move.

< Pretty much what I had in mind with the Leather armor, just took a while to find something that looked like it xD , so mind the random portrayal of it now.

Gerald had his armour and sword crafted to a high degree already, so after his purchase of a beautiful war horse, which set him back by 300 gold pieces, he set about buying a few necessary provisions. He bought and haggled for three more whetstones, a bolt of rough linen, three flasks of oil, some salted meat and bread, a flint and tinder, three more flasks of fresh milk, and a few varying outfits, ranging from those of a peasant, to that of a member of the priesthood, to a court noble. By the time he finished, he had around 120 gold pieces. Not wishing to be caught out, he bought some sheepskin, along with some cured leather hides. Along with this he bought some weathered wood, a hand axe, and two saddle bags, along with a length of rope. Once all his purchases had been made, he was left with a measly 20 gold. Whilst this wasn't exactly a huge amount, he knew that with what he had bought, he would be more than capable of surviving for an extended period of time. Whilst he was no cook, he was a good hunter, and after an extended period in the wilderness he had grown accustomed to eating raw meat. He in fact rather enjoyed it. He set off to join the others, noticeable in the size and the sort of company it was. He led his horse, whom he named Snowfire, along with him. His provisions were held in the two hefty saddlebags, apart from his sword, a whetstone, a flask of milk and the handaxe, which were held in the carrying bag he had bought on his way to meet them, leaving him with 15 gold in total. He stopped slightly apart from the rest of the group, stroking his horses' neck softly, surveying the group. It was drawing near to the time when they would find out who really had the stomach for adventure, and who wouldn't be returning from their quest...

((Sorry for late reply guys, my Dad had a heart attack recently, I've been having to look after him. I'll try and be more constant now))

Bronze munched on an Apple that he was given as he finished the red gem of fruits he looked and noticed two new horses a big horse and a smaller one, he then trotted happily to the first horse lead by a lyari and sed up circling them then stopped snorted and lifted its head and went to the next horse but hit the horse with his tail before heading to the next one

Bronze arrived at the next one with the denith rider and both greeted each other with a snort and tapped there hooves as if talking but then bronze snorted and started trotting away back to Asura who let out grumble snort followed buy a small neigh. "Where did you go bronze, ah new horses I see I hope you were nice to them cause they are our new companions now" he said petting the horse who had felt special for being the only horse now he has to be put next to those rookie horses

Lyra told her: "I have to go get my stuff first. You wait here for me, please."

Lyra got dried food and water, the sort of things that lasted. She also loaded up on bandages and burn herbs and salves. She had some already, but you could never be too sure, and she had a sneaking feeling that she'd be using her magic on the trip. She also got a basic med pack, just in case. Lyra also bought herself some flute music and care stuff, because she liked flute, although she was still learning. Finally, Lyra bought a pair of sturdy shoes and some metal for Mena to tinker with.

Im with Khu right now i think. Guarding her stuff and not stealin' it.

Freya stood in the middle of the Town Square, right outside the shops. With her was Caliond and Veronica, and the trio stood with all their belongings, having finished their shopping.

Freya looked around at the people scurrying around the shops, trying to finish their buyings. It would not be long, till they were all gathered, she thought. She waved at a few people, who she hardly knew, just to let them know, that they were going to gather here in the middle of Town Square. Maybe they could work out a team, choose a leader, and perhaps get going together as a group. Lord knows, Freya would hate to go into the 'Forest swallowed in Darkness', as it had been called, on her own with her shabby abilities.

Okay so, what was decided is that, we have this camp scene. We do a little travel, skip to a second camp scene then skip to Faarstrad. :D So we have some time to bond.

( @VolcanicMagma @OptimisticFire @SubstituteHero @Htiaf I knew keeping all the player names in a text document would come in handy!)

For the sake of character bonding (not to be confused with bondage), the group of heroes decided for the sake of saving what gold they had left, to camp on outskirts of the city. A few would no doubt have protested, but hangovers slow everyone down and what money left is needed for the trip there and the trip back. No one likes to go hungry.

So now, the group are outside the city walls around a campfire. It's around 9pm now, the moon is high in the sky and the fire is burning warmly. They now have a wagon to carry their supplies (and maybe them depending on the size?) The horses are tied to the wagon, the DM hopes someone remembered to buy them some hay to eat.

The group is scattered around the campsite, the fire is surrounded by a ring of rocks and the sky is clear, the blanket of stars shimmering overhead sets a peaceful tone to the night.

Anna was wide awake. She'd always been a night owl, and she was ready to tell stories by the fire. Or perhaps sing. Anna liked singing, although she was none too good at it.

Lyra, on the other hand, was barely keeping herself upright. She had great hopes for the journey, but for now... she was tired. She would have gone right to sleep, but Anna was sitting next to her. Anna nearby was a winning formula for staying awake all night. She chattered on, and although some of the subjects were interesting, sometimes it wore on the sleepy Lyari.

Asura had a teapot out and put it on top of a rock and filled it with water and counted everybody and took out pouches of tea herbs and started mixing the herbs till he made his personal blend, once done his focus went back to the teapot as he poured it in an finally put the top on and then he stared at the teapot an spoke "being that resides with this vassal,I call on thee to form a new contract with your caller please hear my call" Asura spoke as runes appeared on the teapot and a small flame came to life over it, as it settled it revealed a small fairy in a red dress and orange fire hair who smiled at Asura and held out her hand and spoke a few words and runes appeared on her hand, Asura held out his thumb in response where the young fairy touched the base of the Thumb the runes on her hand spreaded around his thumb till it made a complete circle and then she smiled and sat on the teapot handle and made a sowing kit appear and started sowing as the teapot started heating up.

Asura looked at everybody and raised his voice a little " does anybody want some tea for muscle relaxing, it tastes like mango peach" he asked as he hoped he had enough cups

Sayr was sitting up a tree in the lowest branches about 11 feet off the ground. He was comfortably leaned against the tree nodding off just outside of the pleasant glow of the fire that the group was gathered around. Just as he was about to fade into the endless darkness that was his dreams Asura called to the group asking if they had wanted Muscle relaxing tea, He didn't much care for tea and would have denied the offer, especially since it was Muscle relaxing because he hated the chance of being relaxed and suddenly attacked. However he heard the words "Mango Peach" come after the question.

Sayr Loved the flavor Mango, and peach. He quickly dropped his quarrel with the thought of being relaxed and sat up a little more on the branch.

"I'll have some" He responded to Asura, who sat below at the fire.

Sayr Dropped from the tree he was sitting in to land painfully on his right leg 11 feet below because the leg was asleep, a sharp feeling of a thousand needles stabbing his leg shot up his body making him grit his teeth. "Damn Leg... falling asleep up there..." He thought to himself as he hobbled to the fire and sat down.

Mena sat on a log, her legs dangling off the side. She tinkered with the watch she had been working on, and decided to set it aside for another project.

She hooked her feet on a branch that was branching off(ugh, repetition), and leaned back to grab her small pouch that was attached to her bag.

But, she was slightly surprised when a rather tall man jumped from a tree and landed heavily- right in front of her.

So Mena flinched, and her feet lost their hook, and she fell backwards and head first into the thicket.

Grumbling as she stood up, Mena tried to flatten her wild green hair, and walked up to the fire.

"I have no qualms being relaxed. I'd love some tea."

Lyra replied: "I have no idea what mangoes are, but I'll try some." Lyra had heard that tea was good for waking you up, and she'd much rather be naturally awake and staying awake than continuously being awoken by a stream of chatter.

Anna also said yes. She also didn't know what mangoes were, but she considered that a bonus.
