Fantasy [Reboot]RENAIA - Realm Of New Life - Lore

SilverBlack

Endless Dreams
RENAIA - LORE
Locations
Altar: Located several miles away from Renaia’s palace, it is where all souls arrive after death. It is a mysterious architecture that has been present in Renaia for as long as anyone could remember. No one truly knows how the Altar brings about the souls and how it chooses those that comes to Renaia.

Garden: Where souls receive a new body when an old one is destroyed. The new bodies are created by the flowers. Just like the Altar, no one knows when the Garden was created, nor do they know how it is able to produce new bodies.

Palace: It is where the King of Renaia resides, and also where government workers go about their days. Citizens can request to enter the palace to get their memories back, but rarely are they allowed to go into the interior of the palace.

Academy: Its exterior is not unlike a regular school of the modern world, but its classrooms are more akin to training rooms. Citizens of Renaia can learn either physical battle techniques or magic at the Academy. Currently, available classes include: hand-to-hand combat, sword art, archery, elemental magic, healing magic, and support magic (which includes non-damage dealing spells, such as creating a defensive shield). Teachers usually instruct students to the basics of combat techniques, then allow students to spar with each other to improve their own skills. The Academy is also equipped with training rooms where students can practice in their free time.

Townsquare: A large area that occupies the majority of the town; it is a busy part of town where many citizens spend their free time. It has a large variety of shops that sell weapons, spell books, furniture, groceries, clothing, and trinkets. There are also different restaurants that provide foods from different worlds.

Living Quarters: A large, government-funded, apartment-like building. When new souls arrive in Renaia, they are assigned to a room that they will share with other citizens. Rooms are quite small, equipped with two bunk beds, several desks, and a bathroom. A kitchen is provided on the ground floor, but it has been a long time since it was upgraded.

Residential Area: Citizens who have earned enough gems may purchase their own house or apartment room. The environment of the residential area is much more desirable than that of the living quarters. The residential area is typically occupied by government officials, royalties, or business owners.
Currency
Gems serve as the currency of Renaia. Gems are about the size of a penny, and their colors decide their value. Blue is the most valuable, then yellow, then red.

15 red gems = 1 yellow gem

30 yellow gems= 1 blue gem

Foods such as bread or fruits cost approximately 3~5 red gems. A meal can cost anywhere from 10 red gems to 2 yellow gems. A house in the residential area can cost around 300~500 blue gems.
FAQ
What kind of roleplay is this?

This roleplay will be, for the most part, light, and slice-of-life. A big part of this roleplay is focused on the characters' lives and personal development in Renaia. With that said, there will also be a plot that the admins will push for. Think of this roleplay as an MMORPG game- you are free to explore the world, earn money, craft, etc. but there are also main story quests that you need to complete alongside your party members (in this case, the other characters).

What are the reply requirements?

Although most of the roleplay will be light-hearted and casual in its atmosphere, there is a plot that needs to be explored. To make it so that we can eventually get to the main conflict, and to keep the roleplay rolling in general, roleplayers are required to reply at least twice a week. The lengths of the replies must be two to three decently structured paragraphs.

What kind of setting does the roleplay take place in?

It is a western, fantasy/medieval-like setting with no modern technology.

What kind of characters are allowed?

To avoid making things too broad and complicated, we will be limiting the characters to humans only. However, they can come from all different kinds of worlds. Also, due to the nature of Renaia, only characters below the age of 45 will be allowed. More info

How can the characters earn money?

Through exploring the town, you’ll have the chance to get jobs, maybe in the shops or restaurants in the townsquare. Of course, you can’t just get a job all willy nilly. What I mean by that is, if your character has some sort of communication problems, they would probably have a hard time getting a job as a waiter/waitress.

Also, you can take on requests from the government or townspeople. For example, a restaurant may request for you to hunt down a giant chicken monster on the outskirts of town for its meat, and a jeweller may ask you to kill a jewel-studded crab for its shell. Your imagination is the limit.

Will battles be necessary?

Battles will mostly just be for the benefit of your characters, whether it’d be killing monsters for money, for interactions between characters, or if you decide to visit the Academy for training. Your character can just be an average person with no combat abilities if you wish. Though, it is certainly possible that your character could find themselves in a sticky situation during the roleplay.

So the characters never die?

Technically, characters can still die of old age in Renaia, which is why we have an age limit on the souls that enter Renaia. Otherwise, yes, the characters cannot really die. Don't take advantage of that though. Each time your character “dies” and gets a new body, they will owe the government one yellow gem as fee for using the Garden. Also, as will be mentioned during the roleplay, recreating a body takes quite a while, so unless you want to miss the roleplay, I would suggest fighting for your survival.

What memories do the characters have in the beginning?

It really depends on you, but the memories should only be enough for the characters to know what kind of world they grew up in, who they grew up around, and what kind of person the characters were. The government holds the memories of how a soul passed away.

What items carry over to Renaia from the living world?

Your character should be arriving with nothing except the clothes on their backs. That means any weapons, money, and accessories will go poof as they travel to Renaia.
