It was Week....God knows, that Danny arrived on his doorstep, turning his life upside down. His life before was but a distant dream in his eyes. The photoframe that hung in the landing containing himself in the middle, head to toe in the colours of a bumblebee in the helmet that he wore and the shirt and shorts that followed, all the way down to his shinpads and the boots that could barely be seen in his crouched position. To his left was his comrade-in-arms Kade, or King Kade as others called him, being the Captain of the Team with Jolly Joe-ly on his right. All three of them pictured infront of a choir of those in the same coloured gowns after a match. All having a part to play and doing something and boy! did the bumblebees leave a sting on their opponents!

The good old days and long past, Cam thought, as he watched a game being played that reminded him of the days when he used to be involved. The days of wearing the 'gown' that made him feel part of something, and now today, King Kade, Jolly Joe-ly and all the rest of them had disappeared. He no longer had his choir that sung the tune but now solo and part of nothing. If the picture was to be taken again, his 'gown' would be gone and left half-naked, left without and cold to the touch from the wind that passed, which was quite the way to describe Cameron now. Feeling a prod on his shoulder which woke him up from his....whatever it was, "You mind?!", was his instant response.

"I do mind when I see too young a parent staring out away from his child. You should really have thought about it before you have your fun. Back in my day, we were not supposed to...", came the sound of one overly-concerned aged citizen who felt they had a right to speak up and it annoyed Cameron till Kingdom come. "I get the message Lady, things happen, but cut the lad some slack and me some slack", getting up and pursuing it no further as he didn't believe it would get anywhere. All young parents were wrong in the older generations' eyes and he was sure there was nothing he could say to convince otherwise. Any argument to defend himself would be answered with a blame game and throwing excuses. The sad part of it was that he was on his own doing it unlike some reckless youths who the Lady should have spoken to.

Guess he just fit the card now, he thought to himself as he picked Danny up from the ground and seeing lillies plucked up from the public garden in his hands. "Seriously?", taking the lillies from his hands to put them down, before carrying him out. As he did, feeling punches on his back and not the same kind as the punches he got from the bumblebees. It was annoying....

Connor took a deep breathe, inhaling the not-so-fresh air of the city, he did regretted doing it afterwards though as he started coughing. He was not one to complain but, his beloved hometown was certainly better than the city. He sighed as he felt the unsual feeling of homesickness arising from deep within him. How could he possibly last a year or so here when he's already missing his family? He miss his younger siblings and parents, looking at the kids that are tagging behind their parent's reminds him of them.

But for now he needs to buy some furniture to make his house presentable and maybe fetch some clothes too on the process to make himself even more presentable. Because it'd be weird if your house is so gorgeous while your clothes looks like a bunch of doormats sewed together to form a clothing.

After walking for who knows how long, Connor realized that shopping was difficult. There are shops everywhere and the poor guy has no idea which shop he should go to. He had always thought that those gilrs in the movies are just being absurd when they said, "shopping is hard" but now he actually kinda undertands them. He sighed once more, feeling lost at the new place. He wondered if he could ever get use to this place, people walking so fast, vehicles are everywhere, buildings so tall that he couldn't even see the clear sky anymore.

But what caught hid attention was the kid that was banging or punching his father's back, the kid looked like he was irritated and upset. Connor remembered his younger brother, Connie on the kid so upon instinct he approached the young one before rummaging through his jean's pocket and pulling out a candy from it and giving it to the kid, "Here you go lil' one." he beamed at the child as if the young father doesn't exists at all.

Cameron never pictured himself as a father. If his own father was anything to go by, then becoming a father had to be avoided at all costs, or face the consequence of losing your mind and pulling your hair out. It wasn't the same case everywhere though and he wasn't counting on being the same case also. He could remember the day quite clearly when Kade came rushing towards them and waving his new gadget around. In the background, hearing the usual remarks from the Marvel and DC Comics fan, Gazzer, comparing Kade to Inspector Gadget, with the followed laugh-on-queue when Kade roared 'Go Go Kade, Launch at Her!', when his gal came along. Whistles too, of course.

It was the same between himself and Demi, though he didn't see himself as quite loud as Kade to show her off, but to treat her nicely and appreciate her. It was therefore no wonder in Cam's mind where his relationship lasted longer than Kade's, but now Kade and the guys were gone and Demi were gone, but never a talk about being parents. Both of them understood, at least Cam thought before she did a runner, that parenting would need serious thought and both in it. Now, Cam was alone in it, with a child that wasn't his and treated as some dirtbag that couldn't control himself and had no care in the world. The Lady from before for an example, of how useless he is and that it is his own doing.

It was entirely undeserved but Cam had to face it. What other choice did he have? until hearing a voice behind him, talking to Danny. That was another pet peeve. If he wasn't being told off for being lax, he has others act in a way to suggest he was too strict. He couldn't win! as he adjusted himself slightly to turn towards the stranger, while also being in a position to take the candy from Danny and placing in his own pocket. "Cheers for that...", which certainly was the truth, all things considered, "He can have it later when he actually deserves it", seeing as candy for doing wrong sounded like 'do it again'.

He could hear Danny cry when he took the candy and he would be lying to himself if Cam said he didn't care, as he didn't like to hear his nephew cry. Still, being the only family he's got to tell him right from wrong, he had no choice while playing both mother and father. "Just caught him at a bad time, but...I'm grateful", plucking up a smile from the right corner of his mouth. Afterall, how was this guy to know and how could he lash out when the guy actually came towards them, then muttering about him in clear view as others do...

Connor knitted his brows as the father of the crying kid took the candy from Connor's hand and kept it inside his own pocket. He was about to say that the candy wasn't for him but for the child in his arms but he dropped it off once he heard the other guy's explanation. "No problem but," he paused to look at the upset kid with his thumb, "he will only continue crying if you don't give him the sweet." he continued with a tone that sounds like that of an expert mother hen. Connor glanced to the said kid again with a playful smile in his face although the young one didn't stop crying.

"You know he can only be a kid once so spoiling him once in a while wouldn't hurt." he gave the young father an advice, his nosiness kicking off again. A bunch of odd and unusual looks were sent towards their way which made Connor turn his head around, from left to right curiously searching for the reason why he is getting all these stares. He raised his eyebrow as he returned his gaze at the father and son duo in front of him, "Weird, do city people keep on staring at each other weirdly like this?" he ask himself with a sheepish shrug. The city life sure is hard. Even if they don't know you, people will keep on looking at you, this made Connor feel uncomfortable but he just shrugged it off and put his attention on the toddler again.

He noticed that the boy was seriously gonna cry this time so Connor had no other choice but to play peek-a-boo with him. He covered both of his eyes with the palm of his hands and suddenly opened it and said the magic word which instantly made the younger boy giggle and later on as Connor did the same thing- he laughed. The provincial guy's laughter joined the kid's own which again, caught the passerbys' attention.

Cameron didn't ask to be a father but ever since he took in Danny, he shouldered that responsibility for the past 2 years. Some would say a burden and Cameron would probably be part of that some, even seeing that burden when he found Danny. Despite the hardships however, he couldn't let his own family go and still could not to this day. All a man could do was his best and all a father could do for his child was the best that he can for the child and Cameron felt he was doing the right thing, whether others like the old Lady or the newcomer agreed or not, who seemed to be an advocate for spoiling him.

He couldn't help but wonder if he was doing the right thing, but he felt he was doing a better job than how he'd be with his real father, the one Cameron had always looked up to, but could not look up to no longer. He also often wondered how Demi would have been if she did stick around, that perhaps she too would advocate being what Cameron would term as 'soft'. "I'm aware of that...", as the guy was seemingly trying to tell him what to do, so he answered almost defensively, "but as I said, you caught him at a bad time", to suggest the 'spoiling him once in a while' had already been and gone.

In any case, hearing Danny laugh made Cameron smile, but it was followed by the usual looks and looks that Connor no doubt had noticed too. Cameron had put up with it, but to put the looks on the stranger too sent alarm bells to get moving for his sake. "We best be moving before we draw a crowd", he announced as he started walking as he was doing before, before the clown turned up. Still, it seemed the stranger had put a spanner in the works for Danny to realise what he done one, disarming anything Cameron could of done to tell him off, as he was personally not a fan to do in public, but he guessed it was too late now.

With reluctance, he takes out the candy and gives to Danny with a smile, though mostly of defeat. In any case, he can try and tell Danny later or tell off another time. Afterall, the two had different goals with the stranger trying to avoid Danny crying while Cameron was trying to parent. The two goals clashed and that was the end of that, though he had to admit that as much of a clown that he turned out to be, it did cheer Danny up. "You have kids of your own, or?", deciding to change the topic.

Connor nodded when the young dad said that he was aware, well the kid was his so it would be up to him on how he raises him. When he suggested that they should probably get moving, Connor just shrugged and obliged anyways, "Uhm, alright." he scratched his head confusedly. So you must get moving immediately or else people would stare at you as if you have just grew another pair of head. The moment the kid the kid finally recieved his candy and the kid's face definitely brightened up. Connor felt satisfied and he felt like he kind of did his job. Back in the province, whever he is on bad terms with his siblings he would make it up to them by offering them sweets and they also do it when he's the one who's upset. If it was possible, he'd never leave his hometown. But of course he needs to sacrifice himself to give his parents a hand in the near future.

"Hm, I don't have kids."
he shook his head, "But I do have two younger siblings and since I'm the oldest I always have to take care of them." he smiled as he remembered his family again. Yes, he is a family-oriented type of guy and nobody could take that away from Connor. Speaking of family, he should probably start setting up his house and buy some of the things he need. "Hey, anyways I think I should get going now." he pointed at the variety of shops and smiled, "It was so nice meeting you both, take care!" Connor bid them farewell before waving at the toddler in the father's arms. After that, he turned around and walked away from them, whistling a tune while he wss on it. For now, he should probably continue shopping for his own needs.

Cameron didn’t have many people to speak to. What with his…not-so-good relations with his father that prompted him to leave in the first place and the highly probable occurrence of anything he tells his mother would go straight to him anyway to add more fuel to the fire. His mother would tell him to give his father a break because he’s been working, but the man was in his 40’s with a successful career and yet all the problems were unleashed at home, while he had a grip on them at work. It was the opinion of Cam as well as Cal, that surely it should have been the other way round, that he should have had a grip at home because they were his flesh and blood and those who would be with him to the very end. The result? Callum finds his own friends to get close to and ends up following them as they treat him as part of a ‘family’, but the difference was his ‘family’ was more prompting than supporting.

It was curious what his mother would say if he was to tell them, but it would mean talking behind his brother behind his back and has been conflicted with that. There were a few friends he could speak to, but they were all busy so it was a welcome change to speak to someone who was more positive to the situation than negative, even if that certain someone had disrupted his way of things, which was why he wondered about him having kids. As he spoke, he smiled thinly as he wished Cal was the same. He used to be, but this ‘family’ changed him that it went from Cal taking care of Cam, to Cam taking care of Cal, since Danny came from him. It was quite the reverse and certainly could not help the envy of the guy’s younger siblings who had the support from an older brother who did not judge the fact he was a young parent. ”That’s nice….”, which he truly said genuinely.

However it seemed the guy had to go and certainly Cam would not stop him since he was in the middle of shopping. ”You too. Have a good day, or shop, or whatever”, as he managed a chuckle as he lifted his hand up in response to his wave, before moving over to his car, a silver Ford Focus. Opening the back door to strap Danny in, who certainly had perked up since the encounter with the lollipop clearly helping that and in a way, it perked Cameron too if truth be told, to be supported than scorned. Slipping into the driver’s seat and putting his own belt on so they could take off before Danny’s attitude changed, as he went his way to return back to his place to get dinner sorted….once he got Danny’s mind busy of course.

Connor turned his head around to look and smile at the young dad and his son one final time before they completely go in their own ways. He just hoped that the kid wouodn't give his father headaches anymore and would just behave well. The father looked like he was having a hard time with the kid, Connor thought that maybe it's because he's not used at taking care of kids. Remind him again not to have a kid so early and become a young father, that wouldn't be very great. "Ah well.." he let out a sheepish yawn before stretching his arms out to the sky and breathing in the city air. The air smells like vehicle fumes and it made Connor snort and wipe his nose. The provincial guy then entered one shop at a time before venturing to another until he felt satisfied with what he has bought.

After hours of shopping, Connor eventually made it and found himself right in front of his new house. He smiled at the sight, his dimples showing again. He just couldn't help but adore the house, he feels so satisfied and lucky- he feels like this is the place where he can have a good life. And when he finally have this 'good life', he will ask his family to come and live with him here.

But before that, he decided that he has to make his house pretty first and presentable. The furnitures he has just bought would be delivered tomorrow so his house was completely blank for now. The only things that were inside were the kitchen appliances and the dining table, plus the bed in the small bedroom and the couch in the living room. The guy started putting the things he has bought in their right places. Then he also prepared food for dinner in which he accidentally prepared too much just for himself so he decided to give some to his new neighbors and maybe introduce his self at the same time too. He hummed happily as he did so.

When he finally finished cooking his chicken curry dish, he prepared it in a clean bowl before making his way to the house next door with it, still humming the same tune. He rang the doorbell before readying his smile, "Hello~!!" he called out to whoever that was living in that house. The guy just hoped that whoever his neighbor was, he/she would be a kind and welcoming nice person.

It was not easy. That much was known as soon as Danny arrived on his doorstep. The biggest question was when it would ever get easier? If it would get easier...being one of many questions that followed. For Cam, this was not a life choice, as much as it seemed to be. Taking on a child meant quite the responsibility, to look after them as much as you look after yourself, sometimes looking after them more than you look after yourself. Some would argue, like the old lady at the park, that such child responsibilities were asked for and if they came earlier than they should, then that was the parents' fault. It was a view Cam would take, though he thought at the time he would have had Demi's support but he was alone.

Despite it all, juggling cost of living with his working and learning, along with Danny's childcare, Cam liked to think he was doing as good a job as he could. As soon as he parked up, his attention was once again on Danny as he took him out the car and into the front room for him to play with his toys. Of course that remedy only worked for so long, but it was enough until he was fed. He liked to give what freedom he could, enough that he didn't harm himself and enough where he harmed nothing else or anybody else, to put the message across that crossing a line was wrong and would result in punishment, but behaving had its rewards.

That of course didn't work today since he was unable to tell Danny off about pulling the flowers out the park, which was not theirs to take, but hopefully picking him up away from the scene of the 'crime' and carrying him away was enough. Cam didn't like to do it, but it had to be done sometimes to prevent future problems. He thought Callum was as tough as nails, which was why he looked up to him so much, but too much free rein and their father's blame-game had drove him away and despite being the younger, he couldn't help but be concerned about his big brother, with Danny being as close as he could get to him as he watched his smile when he played, before doing the 'adult' thing to go around the House to clean before preparing the surfaces to do dinner.

He was cutting his onions by the time he heard the doorbell, with curiosity hitting him as much as the sting, as he placed the knife at the far side of the worktop out of harm's way, before washing his hands so he could move over to open the door. "Hello~!!", he heard from the other side, no doubt a result for keeping him waiting as Cam wiped his eyes and opened up, to see none other than the guy who was at the park earlier today. A few lashes followed to make sure it was him as he raised his eyebrow slightly, in turn with a half-smile, as he remarked, "I didn't expect to see you around here, you followed me or something?", though he didn't mean it seriously, but in a jovial way.

Connor almost thought that his new neighbor wouldn't answer the door, the curry he made was still hot and it would be a waste if his neighbor wouldn't take it. Fortunately, the door finally opened and Connor almost jumped. What shocked him more was that, his new neighbor was actually the young father he has just met a few hours ago in the park. He blinked in disbelief before the corner of his lips curled upwards again, forming a cheerful smile. "Followed you? Oh, no!" Connor declined and gave a light chuckle, "What a coincidence! I'm actually the guy who just moved next door." he continued chuckling.

"Ah yeah, so I made this curry. You know, for great first impression." the guy shoved the pot he was holding towards the other man. "I hope we'd get along well! And just remember that if you need help, just call me." a dorky thumbs-up followed afterwards. He was about to bid him a farewell but he just remembered one thing, "Ah, how's the little kid?" he asked with a happy grin, as always- his nosiness kicked in again.

His mother has always told him that first impression always lasts and that the best way to make a great first impression is by giving your new neighbors your cookings. Being polite and kind is a plus point too. So he really is optimistic and confident that he'd get along well with his new neighbors.

(Sorry shorter than usual, not been writing for fifteen days and still need to warm-up again.)

Why was Cam curious? Well, anyone would be curious when very little knocked on the door. It was not like he was expecting anyone and that fact was difficult to swallow at first, but eventually it had with Cam accepting that he alone in this and if that might presenting a defensive front against other people, then so be it. That is the thing about today, people are so quick to judge, but never once stopped to consider first, to think first before speaking. The same rules apply for crossing a road, stop and think to make sure it is safe to cross. What people do not realise, is that as much as oncoming traffic can make it unsafe to cross a road, oncoming thoughts can be just as deadly that have been activated by a switch in the circuits of the mind. To say something that a person doesn't want to hear.....danger zone.

Thankfully Cam hasn't reached the explosive stage yet, rather the shrugging stage to let things go, though even that was beginning to wear thing when he told the noisy woman to give him a break. Well he had that now, though this guy certainly had a knack for throwing surprises down Cam's way. When he doesn't expect anyone to speak to him normally without judging him, he does it, and now when he doesn't expect anyone to come to the door of a sex-crazed idiot that got his just-desserts, he comes. It was a pleasant surprise indeed, almost tempted to say he didn't expect to see anyone around here, but he refrained from doing so. Afterall, it would do no good to start off-loading to someone who is actually treating him as a person, smiling to his chuckle as he denied the stalking charge.

Now it appeared that the guy who was defying (in a good way) what Cam had come to know, was now his neighbour and he couldn't help but feel real good about that, especially since he was someone around his age group. He wasn't sure exactly how old he was, but he couldn't be any younger than him and if he was willing to talk to him, perhaps the two could get along. "What do you know!", he said with a short laugh as the guy spoke of a 'coincidence'. Once upon a time he could call upon any of the guys he used to play alongside, now that time was gone as his so-called 'friends' only cared for friendship when it suited them to leave him alone, so now he felt things were looking up.

He wasn't sure about coincidences, but bit by bit, things were slowly getting back on course. His thoughts suddenly interrupted by the pot that was shoved infront of him as he offered him a curry, a home-made curry at that and then the offer to be there if he needs it. Something that he has gone without and now offered on a silver platter, or curry pot rather. "Thanks....", he said with a smile. He didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but then the thumbs-up coming from him made it into the former rather than the latter, which was good for him. Afterall, he was supposed to be a man! but then again, didn't a man also have to lay in the bed he's made and deal with it.

Such thoughts attacked his newly-formed ones to make sure that Cam remained chained and shackled to pride and principles, as such thoughts were then interrupted to think instead of Danny as the guy asked about him. "Why don't you come in, and see him for yourself? He's in the front room...", adjusting his position so that his rear was against the door to open it wide for the guy to step in, seeing that his hands were full with the pot. It was a rarity to invite someone in, especially since he barely changed the place since Demi left him, including the pictures in the hallway. If truth be told, despite how Cam tried to move on, he certainly found things hard to let go...
