What appeared to be an ordinary day quickly devolves into one that no one will soon forget. The Dark Empire makes itself known to the world and with the need to locate a group of saviors, GENESIS is in a frenzy over a mistake that they have made.

With classes right round the corner for the students of Angel Grove University, the campus has decided to engage in some back to school festivities. It's late in the afternoon on a Friday and there are dozens of things to do out on the quad. Student organizations have set up tables and displays, in hopes of attractive prospective students to their organizations. There are a few food trucks park along the concrete area a short distance away from the student union. Additionally, for students who are looking for jobs, there is a mini Career Fair going on a short walk away from the student organization area. Not to mention, popular music is playing (quite loudly) through the speakers with hundreds of students walking to and from throughout the area. Needless to say... it's very crowded.

In the midst of this crowdedness, the Dark Empire sees this as an opportunity to attack the lives of innocent AGU students, in hopes to send a message to Earth that this world is no longer there's. How will the humans react?

Objectives:
1. Socialize and communicate with at least 1 other character.
2. Protect yourself and survive the onslaught from the Dark Empire's minions.
3. Retrieve the stolen GENESIS briefcase.

Charlie loved interning at GENESIS... she just hated the "intern-y" things that they made her do. Like manning the table at this little career fair that Angel Grove University was hosting in the midst of other fun activities that she would rather be doing right now.

Don't get her wrong: when it came down to doing work and studying the way that the GENESIS engineers managed to create remarkable technological advances out of a simple idea they thought about months ago, it inspired her in ways that she never imagined during her interview process. But GENESIS still needed to recruit the next generation of full-time staff members which was how she got here in the first place. The way that she saw it, this was a way of "paying it forward." Instead of doing recruitment, Charlie would have much rather been working on this top secret project that Dr. Ogden and his team was working on.

"Ugh," Charlie grumbled, leaning her backside against the table as she held some GENESIS pamphlets in her hands. It was warm outside, but not unbearably hot as it had been in the prior months. She was dressed in her GENESIS work polo, a bright white color with the GENESIS logo stitched on the left breast. Instead of participating in professionalism, she elected sport a pair of khaki cargo shorts and her favorite pair of purple Air Jordan 1s on her feet. Comfort over style, but style still was present.

"I'm going to go use the restroom. Be right back."

Turning and nodding her head, Charlie watched as one of the main office workers of GENESIS, whom she was charged to recruit with, walked off towards the student union to locate the nearest restroom. Unfortunately, her name was escaping Charlie. Now that she was alone, Charlie politely, with a little bit of mmph, placed the pamphlets on the table, walking around the shorter end of it and nearly tripping over the titanium briefcase that was somewhat hidden by the bright blue table skirt.

"You tried to kill me," Charlie snorted, using her foot to slide the briefcase out of the way and underneath the chair. Taking a seat now, she narrowed her eyes over at the student organization section, a small smirk forming on her features as she noticed the congregation of Alpha Chi Omega girls surrounding their table. For a moment, Charlie considered joining the sorority given that her friend, Fatima, was already a member of it, but her commitment to GENESIS limited her availability. That and, well, Charlie wasn't sure if she was ready to deal with a plethora of sorority girls all at once.

"I'll go say 'hi' to Fatima," she thought to herself, lifting from her chair and walking across the brick patterned path towards the group of girls... all the while leaving her post at the GENESIS table unattended.

Darian Aylmer

Interactions: open to whoever wants to help my boy.

/*right side*/

Darian Aylmer —better known as Ian by virtually everyone but his stubborn parents— stood in line for one of the food trucks parked just ways away from the main event. While other people chatted and scrolled through their phones to entertain themselves, sensing they'd be stuck in the same spot for the foreseeable future, Ian zoned out. His brown eyes didn't have any thought behind them as he looked at a point in the distance without really seeing it, distantly feeling the faded sunlight in his skin and the rise and fall of his chest with each breath.

To be honest, Ian would rather be anywhere else than at school on a Friday afternoon. He had actually made plans with a few of his friends that morning, before it was all derailed by Janet and James Aylmer absolute insistence that their son must attend and help them spread the word among Angel Grove University's alumni about J&J's newfound hiring opportunities. Of course it was a lackluster excuse. Instead of a nineteen year old with no interest in the topic they could have their own employees do it, but Ian took it as what it was. His parents were telling him to prepare for more family-business-related duties to come his way.

Which is why the young man complied. Kind of. He had arrived at campus with a couple of employees from J&J and helped them set up their display, just to ditch them as soon as he had gotten the chance by lying about needing a bathroom break. Perhaps he'd be scolded if the employees snitched, but he doubted they would even care since he hadn't been doing anything but stand there and look pretty. A few minutes of wandering around later, Ian had stumbled upon his fraternity buddies on their way to get some food and had decided to stick with them because he was bored. The rest was history.

He snapped out of his memories when a fist bumped against his shoulder and he turned his head to the left, raising a questioning eyebrow at his friend. The aforementioned was looking at him expectantly. "What?" Ian asked, realizing that the guy must've been telling him something while he was dazed.

"I said, Jay wants us to meet him at his club's classroom." His friend repeated, his voice raised to be heard above the music coming from the speakers all across the school, which fortunately wasn't as ear-splitting in the food trucks section as in the courtyard. He held up his phone to show Ian the texts he received from Jay, whoever that was. "Can we leave the food to you?"

Frankly, it wasn't like they were having a lot of fun together. They were just four guys standing in silence and waiting for their turn to order. "Sure, I'll stay." Ian agreed easily and playfully shoved his friend's arm in the general direction of the school, prompting him to get going already. The guy uttered a thank you and started walking back to where they had come from, the others following his example after giving Ian a chorus of gratitude. He added before they were out of earshot, "Tell Jay I said hi!"

Ian still had no idea who Jay was.

Five minutes later and the number of people had significantly dwindled, leaving the young man to watch as the only remaining individual in between him and the truck took their sweet time reading the menu. Ian tapped his fingers against his thigh in an erratic rhythm that signified his growing impatience. When the person in front of him settled on something, he mentally cheered. One more second and his stomach would've started eating itself.

As the customer received his food and walked away, it was finally Ian's turn. He stepped closer to the window, his hands tucked in the pockets of his pants. Today he was dressed no different from normal, with his green Henley shirt, jeans and Timberland hiking boots. A haphazard combination that was put together without any contemplation. Perhaps it was only his face then that made the girl taking the orders lean forward and smile at him with an air of interest.

"Can you get me three cheese burgers, four hot dogs and– Oh, almost forgot. Three servings of fries too, please?" He gave her a smile of his own and observed as she communicated the order to the chef, not seeming the least bit surprised by the quantity of food ordered.

She was a pretty girl, he supposed. Maybe Ian would've tried asking for her number if he were not going through a life crisis at the moment. A relationship didn't sound appealing when you spent 24/7 fending off your parents' offers of starting an internship in their company, and the little moments of respite in between deep in thought. He felt uncomfortably uncertain these days, an emptiness that weighed heavy in his ribcage taking hold of his emotions. It didn't seem to disappear no matter how many tests he passed or how many football matches he won. Ian could only try and compensate for the discomfort by being as carefree as possible.

"Here it is." The girl passed him the batch of freshly cooked burgers that he barely managed to maneuver in his arms and he frowned, looking up in confusion to the girl who appeared sheepish. "We are not giving out plastic bags anymore, because of, you know, the planet. Do you think you can…" She pointed to his arms, silently asking if two limbs would be enough to carry the food.

"Yeah, I'll be fine." He assured with a nod, signaling for the girl to pass him the hot dogs next and then the fries and once both his arms were loaded with enough food to make him a bit nervous that he'd drop it all, he breathed a relieved sigh. Everything was perfectly placed and now his only task was taking this to his friends.

He was about to thank the girl when she spoke up again, almost regretful. "You forgot to pay."

Ian froze, he had in fact forgotten to pay before filling with food the hands he very much needed to pull out his wallet. A lightbulb went on in his head and he scanned the near multitude in search of someone who would be willing to either hold his food while he paid or pull out Ian's wallet and pay in his stead.

"Hey!" He called out to a couple of passersby, hoping one would take interest. "I need help paying my food!"

Kit

MOOD: focused.

LOCATION: Angel Grove University.

OUTFIT: leather.

TAGS:

MENTIONS: open / everyone.

Kit headed to the direction of the Career Fair to look for a job. As he walked, he remembered his mother's admonition to always work hard and earn his own way. It was more than just a piece of advice, but a firm fact of his life. His parents took it to heart, instilling in their children that hard work is the key to success, even in the face of danger. Granted, he felt that they were being overdramatic, but parents will be parents.

Lately, they've been pushing Kit into finding more long-term work where he could apply his skills in and not just manual labor. Hopefully, he would find something that has something to do with the military. He was told by many adults around town that he would do pretty well for himself in the service, plus, it would cover his tuition. But Kit didn't want to be too far from his folks as they were getting older and older and soon, he'd have to take care of them full-time. If his parents weren't a handful already, they were coming close to the edge, so he had to be prepared for that possibility.

As he approached the Career Fair, a familiar-looking advertisement caught his eye. It was an internship at GENESIS. His father always warned him about internships. To him, they were basically traps to get free labor out of the jobless. Not a bad assessment as when he thought about it himself, any high-ranking official overseeing the internship can exploit the loophole over and over again with multiple people as they see fit. Giving false hope to the desperate that they might be hired by the establishment they had interned for, only to never be heard again. It's a sick practice to those who abuse such a loophole.

As for GENESIS itself, Kit wasn't so sure. He's heard plenty of things about them, ranging from great place to be among the greatest scientific minds the world has to offer to a high- maintenance megacorporation that could very well lead the world to the future. From any possible point of view, it was no doubt one of the best places in the world to work. From the outside perspective atleast. There's always that saying, "If it's too good to be true, it probably is."

Kit had asked his father about GENESIS a couple of times but each time, he avoided the questions. For Kit, his father was the smartest man he knew, being an inventor and all. Downside was, they didn't have alot of money for him to buy the parts he needed to finish them and had to scrounge around for scraps or finds the parts online. If he were in GENESIS, perhaps they would have everything he needed to complete them. Since he was near, Kit figures he could ask these questions. He approaches the stand, reading all the placards and deciding whether or not he should even apply.

But something about the placard caught his eye. The placard said that all visitors have a chance to meet an executive from GENESIS. It also said that if the attendees agreed, they could get signed for the internship. But the note also said, "With many questions like these, only the intuitive will find the answers." Those were the exact same words his father had been using when he was pushing him into the internship.

"Answers, huh? Answers to what?" Kit asks to himself as he was even more curious about this prestigious organization. He was probably thinking too much about that statement. For all he knew, it was a business hook, but he couldn't shake off the idea that there was a deeper behind it. Though that could be his inner conspiracy theorist at work.

Light filtered into the dark bedroom through the space between the blackout curtains. Artwork adorned the walls and in the center of the longest wall was a large clock. The large king-sized bed barely took up space in the large room. Adjacent to the clock was a beautiful handmade dresser imported from Paris. In the middle of the floor was a circular rug that accented the black and red color of the bed sheets and comforter. Beneath the comforter, a five-foot-tall body rolled over. A hand breached the comforter and landed on a cell phone resting on the nightstand that matched the imported dresser. Seobin pulled the comforter down to his waist revealing tattoos on his naked skin, and a toned upper body. He pulled the phone close and began reading the missed messages. There were a few from Fatima, his best friend, and a couple from his parents who were trying to inform him that they wanted to pick Jacob up. Running a hand through his hair, Seobin pulled himself out of bed and headed towards the bathroom.

The steamy shower helped clear his thoughts as he rested his arm on the shower wall and his head on his arm. The water trickled down his body while his eyes were closed. Today was Friday, and not only that but he was expected to be at Angel Grove University for the Back to School Festival. There would be a career fair, music and food. GENESIS, a well-known and innovative technology company would be there. There was a lot of talk about the company and what they did. He looked forward to applying for an internship there. Turning the shower off, Seobin stepped out, wrapped a towel around his waist, and stepped in front of the mirror. After going through his usual routine which involved skincare, and oral care, he noticed the slight darkness under his eyes and sighed. He hadn't gotten a full night's sleep in a while. He would often dream of something happening to Jacob, or as crazy as it sounded, he would dream of something dark happening, some great evil that had burst forth to consume the world, and there was nothing to stop it except him.

Stepping into his walk-in closet, he pulled down a black shirt, a pair of jeans with rips near the knee, and a pair of white shoes. He grabbed a pair of earrings, one a sun and the other a moon. They were a gift from his ex. After he got dressed, he grabbed his wallet, keys, and phone before stepping out of his room and walking to the other side of the house. He could hear music and already knew Jacob was awake. Seobin knocked on the door and then opened it. Jacob was dancing with the character on Fortnite. He would never understand why his parents thought that Jacob needed every piece of technology out there. The 6-year-old had a Nintendo Switch, an Xbox, a PS5, an iPad, countless outfits, an equal amount of shoes, and stuffies that filled an entire corner of his room. Seobin had put his foot down on his son having a cell phone. If Jacob needed to reach him there was a house phone and the iPad could be used to call him.

"Jacob, did you take a shower and brush your teeth?" Seobin asked, stepping into the room.

"Yes sir," Jacob said, turning to his father. Jacob hurried over to Seobin who was kneeling down so that they were at eye level.

Jacob embraced his father and smiled. "Daddy, can we go get ice cream today?"

"Not right now bud, but maybe when I get back. Veronica is going to be here soon. I have to go to my school and will be back as soon as everything is done okay?"

Jacob sighed and walked back over to the large 75" television that hung on his wall. Every time Seobin walked into the room he shook his head. There was no way his son would fill up an entire king-size bed, yet his parents had decided to have one delivered for their grandson.

"And don't play too much of that game. Can you promise me you'll be on your best behavior?"

"I promise," Jacob said, turning around and giving his dad a thumbs up.

"Good, come downstairs with me. I know you're hungry."

Seobin and Jacob left the room, and Seobin closed the door behind them. A knock came at the door just as they stepped onto the bottom floor of the house. Jacob ran to the kitchen to grab a snack while Seobin opened the door. Veronica, a short light skinned woman around the same age as Seobin, stood with a smile on her face. Her hair was curly, and she wore glasses.

"Hi Veronica," Seobin said, welcoming her in.

"Hey Seobin, where's the little guy?" Veronica asked, stepping into the house. Jacob ran up to her and grabbed her hand.

"Come on Onica, let's go watch Bubble Guppies," Jacob said, tugging at Veronica's arm.

"Have fun Seobin," Veronica said, her voice raised as she was pulled towards the living room to watch countless cartoons with his son. Seobin shook his head but smiled.

Veronica was referred by his parents and she had gained his trust. She was very good with Jacob and Jacob adored her. There was a brief moment of hesitation as his hand rested on the doorknob of the front door, but after a moment he opened and left.

The drive to Angel Grove University was silent. He didn't even have any music playing. All he could think of was what he and Jacob would do once he got home. They had so much planned for the weekend. They were going out of town to the beach. Jacob loved hiking and going to the beach. He loved anything that allowed him to spend time with his father, and Seobin was happy to be a part of his son's life. So many things could have gone wrong with Angel's pregnancy, and he was scared when Jacob was born. He had no idea how to be a parent. He had no idea what to do or how to do it, but with the struggles came knowledge and he still has so much to learn.

Seobin pulled into the parking lot of AGU and made his way to the festivities. The students were having a blast. Some dancing, some checking out jobs. Seobin was lucky to have a job at a popular cafe in Angel Grove, yet if anyone ever saw his bank account they'd question why he wanted to work in the first place, not to mention his parents had already started a fund for his son. They'd told Seobin they would put one million in it each year for Jacob's birthday and he would have access to it when he turned 18, much like Seobin's grandparents did for him.

As Seobin walked through the festival, he wondered what Fatima was up to. No doubt she was either with her friends or with her sorority sisters. As he walked, he heard someone asking for help with paying for his food. Seobin glanced over at the guy and approached silently. He didn't say a word to Ian, but he reached into his own pocket and paid for Ian's food without a second thought. After he'd paid, he gave Ian a smile.

"Enjoy your lunch," Seobin said, trying to figure out which way the GENESIS booth was.

Simone was currently only apart of five clubs including the student union. She only had to make an appearance at three of the clubs' tables but she planned to check on all of them. She had joined the planning committee for the back to campus event as soon as the email asking for volunteers was sent out. Simone was rather proud of how the whole event was running. So far everything was going to plan. Mona's eyes scanned over the crowd of students half excited to join clubs and the other half excited to get free stuff from the tables. She tapped her nails rhythmically against her clipboard. They were painted in the signature colours of Angel Grove's University. Her entire outfit was coordinated in the school's colours, she had picked out the outfit a week before. Made get ready at 5 am that morning far easier.

Simone was currently in between her shift at the GSRC's (Gender and Sexuality Resource Center's) table and the Model UN's table. She had fifteen minutes to herself, as planned, originally she was going to have a short lunch. But one of the tables near hers had brought snacks, and after eating little by little for hours she wasn't really hungry. She elected to use the time wisely, she hadn't been able to check on the career fair's tables in a while. It was possible that someone could use some help and Mona was happy to.

Music and screaming came from her right side. The Greek Life was in full force. The sororities and fraternities had tried to take control of the event a couple times during the planning stage. Their uprisings had all been successfully squashed by Simone with speed and ease. While she had no problem with their existence, sororities had multiple networking opportunities and their own fundraising efforts looked good on a resume. Ultimately all of the horror stories, and the large joining fee, turned Simone off of ever joining one. She had collected a few friends who were a part of the sororities around campus. She was never quite able to remember the names of each one Alpha Chi something? Kappa... there's something else there. Regardless of Simone's ability to remember their name's she was able to remember to make sure they had tables at the event and that's all that mattered.

"Um, sorry miss but do you know where the ultimate frisbee booth is?" An overexcited voice asked. Simone spun around and saw two red-faced and smiling girls.

"Yes of course, would you like me to take you there" Simone used her best customer service voice.

"If, you wouldn't mind?" The girl smiled brightly.

"It's this way if you don't mind following me, my name is Simone."

"Oh, I'm Emma and this is Olga."

"Pleasure, to meet you both," From there Simone broke into the customary small talk. What year are you? What program? Where are you from? Soon enough they arrived at the booth, Emma was quick to give Simone a hug. Which she awkwardly reciprocated.

Checking her watch it was made clear that she didn't have much time left before her shift. She bit her tongue, she really wanted to check on the career fair. Model UN could wait, they usually didn't get many people anyways.

She moved as quickly as socially acceptable towards the tables of people trying to convince students that they wanted to work at that company and no other. Last year she had gotten to know one of the Law Firms that came, they were nice but they were Personal Injury lawyers and that wasn't her thing. They were back again this year along with many others. Faux bright faces smiled at her from all of the booths, except one. Except one. The Genesis booth didn't have anyone manning it, where the fuck did their intern go? Simone went over to the booth, she looked around banging her foot on a briefcase. There was no note and no one in sight who seemed to belong to the booth. She wasn't sure who was supposed to be here but they were going to get an earful when they got back. She leaned on the table and shot the guys running her other tables that she was going to be late.

As his brain began to go into a frenzy about what to do next, thinking no one would listen to his exclamations and he'd either have to put his food on the ground —which even he wouldn't risk—, run off without paying —which he didn't condone— or, probably a much more intelligent option, give them his name so they knew he'd return to pay. Turns out he didn't need to do any of that. When he opened his mouth to carry on with the latter option, he was interrupted by the sudden intervention of a figure, who handed the employee enough cash to both pay for Ian's food and leave a generous tip. The person had effectively sneaked up on him and Ian blinked, dumbfounded.

He blatantly stared at the stranger who had come to his rescue. It was a good looking guy with Asian features that apparented to be the same age as Ian, perhaps one or two years older, even though Ian surpassed him in stature. He was dressed in a way indicative of style and an aura of refinement surrounded him, but it was significantly softened by his relaxed expression. The Aylmer boy had a faint feeling about him, an itch as if he should know him, but didn't.

He shook his head lightly, bringing his arms closer together and squeezing the food more securely in between them. "Thanks to you, I will." Ian said once he registered he hadn't replied to the man's words. But the guy didn't appear to be paying that much attention to him anymore, his brown eyes focused on beyond the food truck section and into the school itself. Did he attend Angel Grove's university? Ian easily assumed that he was after a specific something or someone and didn't know its exact location. Otherwise he would have already left.

When the person behind him in line to order cleared their throat loudly, Ian realized that he was still planted in front of the window and took it as his cue to step aside. Sending an absentminded 'thanks' to the girl who had served him his food and having completely forgotten of his initial mission to bring said goods to his friends, he moved away from the truck and closer to the good Samaritan.

See, Ian believed in repaying kindness with kindness and he would never miss out on meeting new people. Those two reasons were enough to share the idea forming in his mind.

"Hey, man, are you looking for something? I've been exploring the whole campus for the, I don't know, past two hours? I'm sure I can help, whatever it is." Ian suggested, giving him a bright smile of his own. He straightened a bit and was about to stretch his hand for a proper handshake to introduce himself, until he remembered his precarious position. Instead he let out a breathy laugh. "I'm Ian, by the way."

As the booming song originating from the sound system changed into a different track, Ian started slowly walking backwards —an art he had dominated ever since he was a mischievous child— towards the university, still looking at the Asian fellow with an implicit offer hanging in the air.

"Oh to be a freshman collecting free gear from all the advertisers,"
Fatima sighed as she finished fastening her sorority's banner to the top of their booth.

Every semester the Alpha Chi Omega house hosted a recruitment booth that had brochures, snacks, and prizes should they land on the right slice of their spinner. Where some of the girls would be tasked with handing out flyers or surveying the freshmen, Fatima and two others would be running the table. It was their job to keep the area clean, well stocked, and attractive to potential pledges. Just last year, she'd met her Big in the very same spot at the very same time so she was hopeful she might find her own Little later in the night.

After five more minutes of prep, Fatima opened the booth to a welcoming party of new students and friends alike.

"Fatima! My mom told me you'd be here!"

"How do I get a t-shirt?"

"You wanna get out of here?"

And so on and so forth came the questions, the requests for frat party invites, and the people begging to spin their prize wheel. It was cute to see who was genuinely interested in their sorority and who wanted to stock up on their clicking pens and plastic sunglasses. At least a few already had their arms full from other booths, one of which included...a GENESIS shirt?

Fatima squinted at a short green-eyed woman in the distance before a smile formed on her face. Stepping out of her seat, she shouted a quick
"Charlie! What're you doing here?"
before meeting her halfway between the booths.

"Aren't you supposed to be working today?"

Lost in thought, Seobin barely noticed Ian approach him. His good samaritan ways came from his parents who donated to charities yearly, and he would often do the same. To say he was blessed was an understatement. He was loaded, and his parents were billionaires. He never felt like anyone ever took advantage of him because he was humble and never let his wealth get in the way of living life. Even his friends got tired of him buying them things here and there. He showered Fatima with gifts to show his appreciation for her being his loyal best friend, but she would tell him it wasn't necessary. Seobin was a humble giver in a world that needed understanding and love. All of the birthday celebrations, and the festive holiday get-togethers, Seobin made sure to invite those closest to him. His parents adored a few of his friends, but not all of them. It was to be expected coming from their generation.

Ian's voice broke Seobin from the trance he was in. Blinking a few times, he turned to look up at Ian and for the first time, took in the other male's visual. Ian was tall, that much could be seen from a mere glance, but Seobin took time to notice other things. He had cute loosely curled hair that looked soft and springy. His nose was a little wider at the tip. His eyes were as brown as a pool of milk chocolate, and his skin was beautifully sun-kissed. His lips looked soft and were a pale pink. Ian's outfit looked comfortable, something one would wear when they just wanted to get dressed. His brain told him to smile, and it formed obediently on his face. Ian was handsome, that much was true, but time seemed to stand still as Seobin took him in, before he realized Ian had asked him if he needed help. Seobin nodded, scratching the back of his head in mild embarrassment.

"It's crazy huh? I'm a student here and this festival has my head completely turned around," Seobin said, his warm smile illuminating the area, "my name is Seobin, and it's nice to meet you, Ian."

Seobin's voice was like a breath of fresh air. It was so soothing to hear, at least that is what a majority of his friends and past hookups had told him. Seobin noticed Ian holding a large amount of food and wondered how he managed to miss that on the initial passing when he paid for it. He also wondered who else it could be for. His mind settled on a partner, more than likely a girlfriend. Seobin didn't like to pry or ask questions unless he was getting to know someone, and in this case, Ian was just there to see if he needed help locating something. Nothing more it seemed.

"Here, let me help," Seobin said, reaching out to grab what he could in order to lighten Ian's load, "I'm just looking for the GENESIS booth. I'm sure it's around here somewhere. I take it this isn't all yours huh? Should we get it to your girlfriend before it gets cold?"

"Hey girl," Charlie said, giving Fatima a quick wave, making note of her sorority letters across her shirt. "Look at you... recruiting some new minions for your sorority. Just last year, you were in their shoes," she joked playfully, giving the Alpha Chi Omega table a quick lookover. It was easily a bit flashier than the GENESIS table, but the two tables served different purposes and sought different audiences. Speaking of which, she hadn't realized that the table she just left was still unmanned, with students potentially looking for someone to talk to.

"Technically I am working, but I mean we're not getting as much traffic as these other tables. At least not yet anyway." Placing her hands on her hips, Charlie turned her head momentarily to look over at the GENESIS table. There was some other woman walking around the table appearing to be looking for something, but the timing was perfect as Charlie's partner for the day returned from her bathroom break to intercept the situation. Good, at least for now Charlie could continue to be social with Fatima for the time being. "Speaking of work... we're looking for another intern and I would prefer someone that I know and trust. So... when should I email you an application?" A devilish smirk formed on Charlie's face as she somewhat pressured Fatima. All in good fun though.

"Excuse me, but are you interested in applying for the GENESIS internship?" a voice from behind Simone spoke soft, but firmly. She was tall, slender woman with her blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail, her sharp facial features accentuated by black rimmed glasses. "My apologies for stepping away for so long. Finding the restroom proved to be challenging. I assumed that Charlie would be here in my absence, but it appears that she has stepped away as well. I'm Dr. Sylvia Stone, an engineer with GENESIS."

As Dr. Stone awaited Simone's response, she beckoned over the other students who were seemingly looking for the GENESIS table as well.

"Our internship is very competitive and provides great hands-on experience as well which... Charlie could tell you about... if she were here."

Somewhere off the grid...

"This world will be a suitable vessel for my empire! For the time being, however, I must recover..." A groan escaped the mouth of Lord Galza as he shifted across the smoky floor of his dimly lit lair, arriving at his massive throne before taking a seat with a sigh. Penetrating his scepter into the ground, Galza leaned back against the hardened throne as a pair of Muddies quickly ran over to him with a glass filled with his favorite beverage, of which he took a drink from after grasping it in his possession. "I should actually thank those primitive creatures for freeing us from the Grid. I imagine we've been in trapped their for centuries. It feels amazing to stretch my legs again."

"Who you tellin', boss?" a voice said from across the way. She had a humanoid figure with black and white thin armor on her body. A jagged, bright blue helmet-structure was nestled across her head. "And with nothing to worry about, conquering this world will be a piece of cake."

"I don't want to take any chances this time, Jadis," Lord Galza replied immediately, lifting his hand and shaking it cautiously. "My younger, hot-headed self would have come out with total chaos and not a plan of attack. This time, I want to exude patience. A slow, painful death for this world. The fear that those humans showed when we emerged from the Grid... ahh... it was delicious. I must have more of that energy to equip our army. Maskaraid!"

"Yes, my Lord?" Maskaraid responded quickly, emerging from the left corridor that connected to the lair.

"I need you to lead some Muddies out into the public. Give these humans an opportunity to see that their world is no longer theirs and that the Dark Empire's reign of terror begins now!"

With a nod of his head, Maskaraid lifted his scepter as the green bead attached to the blade began to glow.

"As you wish, sir!" From the dirt beneath their feet, an army of brown-colored minions formed, wielding staff that had claw like extensions at the ends of it. With a tap of Maskaraid's scepter, the group disappeared from the lair in a flash of dark energy.

"It feels good to back!"

Simone jumped at the voice behind her. She had been poised to talk to the man flipping through the pamphlet. She spun around and saw the offender, perfectly coiffed and sterile. Simone disliked her immediately, something prickled at the back off her head. Perhaps it was the fact that the woman left the table unattended or perhaps it was something else. Simone straightened out her clothes and wished that she was dressed a little more formally. Or perhaps a suit of armour to protect herself from this woman's calculating eyes. She let the woman, Sylvia Stone, speak, let her get out whatever excuse she had.

"Doctor, I'm not sure how many of these sorts of events you've been apart of. But, it is customary to have more than one person watching the table so these things don't happen. Genesis may be a fantastic company on paper, but if your handling of the booth is anything to go on. I would worry about the lack of organization as an intern," About halfway through her response, Simone realized she probably shouldn't be saying what she was saying. Her words were cold, rude even. She held her head up and kept Dr. Stone's eyes. She knew she was in the right, it was unprofessional of them to leave the booth unattended without even a sign.

She stepped back, her foot brushing against the cool metal of the briefcase once again. The stupid thing had nearly knocked her over. She crouched down beside the table and pulled the briefcase out. There was a good weight to it and despite the heat it stayed cold.

"Also I would suggest taking better care of your things. This can be a tripping hazard if not taken care of properly," Mona handed the engineer the briefcase. She turned around, now facing her peers she gave them a polite nod.

Simone scurried off her face growing red with embarrassment the farther away from the booth she got. She could feel eyes on her and knew that she would have to have a chat with the Student Union's President about this. And like everyone else they would probably take Genesis' side.

As a kid she learnt a lot about major corporations. In some of the towns and villages she visited with her parents it was easy to easy the effects of companies like Genesis. Genesis would parade all of the great technological advancements they'd made, but not the dangerous mines where they got the minerals they needed to make these items. Water pollution, deforestation, erosion from mining. Part of the world benefited from these new technologies and others were left to suffer in the dark. The last year of university granted her a better legal understanding of the problem. How companies like Genesis got away with everything. How the owners of such companies brought it record incomes in the billions where those at the lowest levels could barely afford to live.

Simone was offended that anyone could consider that she may want to intern for Genesis. She wanted nothing to do with that company, the sooner this day ended the better. She settled into her seat at the Model U.N. table beside the Tech table? It was something to do with wood and building. Mona wasn't quite sure and she was too mad to pretend to care. She forced a toothy smile onto her face as she greeted freshmen who would give up on the club after one week.

Vampire Weekend

Campus

Fatima closed the distance between her and Charlie before gracing her with a hug. Though the two didn't see each other often (mostly due to their different majors and busy schedules), she made sure to reach out at least once a week for coffee.

Seeing her today was a pleasant surprise, though she wasn't surprised given that there was a small booth with the GENESIS logo plastered on top. It seemed that she was working today, no doubt a slave to her supervisor's whims. She couldn't think of another reason why Charlie would spend her Friday afternoon handing out pamphlets. Granted, Fatima was doing the same thing...but it was different when you were trying to help your sisters.

"Speaking of work... we're looking for another intern and I would prefer someone that I know and trust. So... when should I email you an application?"

"Hmm, an application for little 'ol me?"
Fatima asked, her fingers dramatically stroking her chin and her head turned towards the sky,
"an opportunity to work for the company I've spent so long investigating?"

She pursed her lips for a moment, but her eyes betrayed the excitement in her heart. Aside from the prestige of working for one of the country's biggest technology firms, the internship would further her research into the company. Fatima had no doubt that she'd get accepted if she applied, but the difference between manning a booth and working on a secret project was pretty big (as evidenced by Charlie being parked at the university).

"I think I might just have to accept your offer!"
she grinned,
"so then, where do I sign up?"
