Character Flaws: (Three are required. What about your character is imperfect? Of the three, only one can be combat related.)

Backstory: (Two paragraphs minimum. This should describe what your character’s life has been like so far. Please keep in mind that it should mention some experience as a meister as a meister with no experience would not be placed in R.I.P. class.)

Name:
Noelle Parasoul Accessoire

Gender:
Female

Age:
18

Height:
5'3 (160cm)

Hair Color:
Jet Black

Hair Style:
Noelle keeps her hair long but neat, draped behind her like a cape. She has a single braid on the left side of her head, accompanied by a white bow.

Eye Color:
Vermillion Red

Clothing Preferences:
Casual, with a hint of elegance. Fancy blouses and skirts, seemingly expensive jackets and dresses, etc.

DWMA Tenure:
2 years. Enrolled into the DWMA at age 16.

Weapon Form:
Combat Umbrella

Noelle can transform into a light, yet extremely durable umbrella. The handle of the umbrella takes the shape of a brass knuckle, but it is not very effective in combat and is more for the sake of design. When opened, the umbrella is wide and shock-resistant, protecting the user from a multitude of attacks. The ferrule (tip) of the umbrella is extremely sharp, and closing the umbrella makes it possible to use either as a rapier with dangerous piercing power, or a powerful blunt weapon if swung. The user can also use the umbrella as a parachute to glide or float from high places, if necessary.

Resonance Form:
Noelle's Soul Resonance has two different 'modes' that her meister can freely swap between on command:

Quiet Storm (Offensive): All edges and points on the umbrella will have wavelength-amplified cutting edges, including the ferrule. Spinning the umbrella turns it into a saw-like weapon capable of cutting things.

Unbreakable Squall Shield (Defensive): When opened, the umbrella gains increased damage resistance, and a wider field of protection in the form of a wavelength-amplified force field. If the force field is not activated, anyone standing under/being shielded by the umbrella is granted the effects of the healing wavelength.

Soul Wavelength:
Noelle has a healing wavelength. Those who come in contact with her wavelength experience a calming effect, and it is extremely harmful against madness wavelengths.

Personality:
Noelle is a very kind, gentle and caring person. She strives to help others, and sees no problems with risking her life to protect people. All of these positive traits are hidden, however, behind a mildly intimidating idle expression. Her slightly furrowed eyebrows, stern gaze and strict mannerisms tend to scare some timid individuals away before she even has the chance to greet them. If you don't run away from her, you will find that Noelle is actually a fairly fun person to be around-- in most cases. She enjoys a good conversation, and is very interested and invested in her relationships with others. She has a sort of innate desire to serve and assist-- most likely due to her bloodline-- and doesn't mind cooking, cleaning, or doing anything else to help people out, especially her meister. Noelle is generally accepting and even a little gullible, and this can be taken advantage of at times. If she finds out she's being used, she will not take it lightly.

Like anybody else, Noelle does have her flaws. Compared to most other demon weapons, she feels worthless. Who would want an umbrella as a weapon, when you could use a gun or a scythe, after all? This feeling of mediocrity has, unfortunately, dealt a number of hits on Noelle's mental state, as it has with multiple other members of her family. Perfection is always her number one goal, and anything short of it pisses her off to a high degree. She prefers to get things done with as little room for error as possible, preferring swift and precise kills over drawn-out brawls. She is strict when it comes to training and calling out mistakes in combat, even if the person she's calling out isn't even her meister.

Character Flaws:

• Noelle has a major inferiority complex, and often feels as though she is useless and not worthy of being around others.
• Because of her family's history, status, and obsession with perfection, she strives to complete missions as swiftly and with as little error as possible.
• These feelings of inferiority tend to negatively affect her mood, and causes her to get unreasonably upset if things aren't done perfectly.
• While she is generally very kind and polite, she has a habit of being bossy in combat and commenting on errors if they are made. If she sees a mistake, she will call you out on it.

Backstory:
Noelle is the youngest daughter of the head branch of the Accessoire family, a French demon-weapon family whos members all take the form of inconspicuous accessories or tools. Her entire family is made up of weapons that don't ordinarily seem like weapons. Her father is a cane, her mother is a paper fan, and her younger twin sisters are two sharp hairpins. Her father's father is a belt and her mother's mother is a glove. Every member of the Accessoire family is expected to work as a demon weapon, and because of this, many members have been plagued by deep feelings of uselessness and inferiority to the more traditional weapon-types. These members typically try and counteract their 'misfortune' by striving for perfection in combat, and the same happened to Noelle.

She harshly trained herself in attempts to give her weapon form more appeal and to be more useful in battle. By studying the multiple martial arts that could be associated with her weapon form (fencing, sword arts, shield combat, etc.) she ended up becoming a beautifully efficient real-time tactician with amazing prowess in battle, although her sense of partnership in combat was warped by her need for excellence, turning her into a bossy, strict weapon who was hard to get along with early into her career as a weapon. After enrolling into the DWMA, Noelle's strict and critical battle commentary had cost her her very first partner, who ended their partnership due to a decline in resonance between them. Now, Noelle is going on her third year at the DWMA, and plans on working on herself in order to do her absolute best to preserve this partnership for as long as she can.

Possessions:
A pocket watch, some bandages, a gold necklace gifted to her by her father, and her cell phone.

Partner:
Sion Noguchi

FUN FACTS:
• Noelle's hair is completely waterproof. She can't stand this. Luckily, her mother has a friend who has created a custom no-rinse shampoo and conditioner for her.

Shinazugawa.Sanemi.full.2749453.jpg

Name:
Dai. He doesn't have a last name-- at least, he doesn't remember if he has one.

Gender:
Male

Age:
15

Height:
5'6 (167cm)

Hair Color:
Pale White

Hair Style:
Dai's hair is short and unkempt, and it is clear that he doesn't care too much about it. If it gets too long, he'll literally cut it with the closest sharp object, no matter where he is.

Eye Color:
Lavender

Clothing Preferences:
Loose fitting clothes. He like parachute pants and rugged clothes that can be torn off or removed quickly in battle if necessary.

DWMA Tenure:
3 years

Fighting Style:
Dai prefers any type of bladed weapon. He is almost constantly moving in combat, and takes advantage of his high stamina and athleticism and mixing in his Soul Menace attacks with standard weapon attacks. He likes his fights up close and personal (hence his multitude of scars) and would rip his enemies apart with his bare hands if given the chance. He is capable of moving at extremely high speeds, and when he combines his speed with his natural physical strength he can prove to be a horrifyingly overwhelming opponent. When using a weapon, he'll attack using any angle he sees-- even willing to put a weapon in his mouth and cut someone if he can.

Abilities:
Dai can manipulate his own wavelength, and is also capable of utilizing Soul Menace.

Soul Wavelength:
Dai has a Survivor's Wavelength that increases his stamina and strength the more hits he takes. Even in times of distress or possible fatality, he'll still have enough strength to at least run away from his enemy at a steady pace. He also has a higher chance of surviving wounds that are possibly fatal.

Personality:
Dai has a very primitive, prideful and instinctual attitude, often leading to poor relationships with most people. Many of his actions can be considered as immature, especially his vulgar way of speaking and loud, obnoxious presence. Wild and violent, he lives for combat, and never turns down a challenge no matter who the challenger is. He always thinks of himself to be a step higher than his peers, and this causes him to look down on others frequently. His behavior is very similar to that of a wild beast, but his uncivilized lifestyle is somehow considered to be charming to some.

While he used to be much more unhinged, Dai has learned to vent most of his anger and violent tendencies in the heat of battle. When fighting, he becomes very focused on his target and may even overexert himself if it means attaining victory. The angrier he gets, the harder it is to get him to retreat or stop fighting an opponent. Engaging in combat means that he is allowing his natural, animalistic instincts to kick in, and because of this, he finds himself having extreme difficulty working in teams. His brash and arrogant personality certainly doesn't help, either.

Despite his overall beastlike character, Dai does have his good traits here and there. He is excellent at motivating others-- whether it be by displays of strength or genuinely having a conversation with someone, along with being loyal to his peers and the DWMA. His determination to the best at anything he does pushes him to work harder.

Character Flaws:
• Dai's ruthless and bloodthirsty fighting style leaves him very open to counters when against enemies who can keep their composure against his pressure fighting.
• He is very prideful and arrogant, and this make it very difficult for him to get along with others.
• He has trouble giving up and/or retreating, even if his life is on the line
• His overwhelming personality makes it extremely difficult for him to perform techniques like team resonances. It also makes it harder for him to form partnerships with weapons.

Backstory:
Born in the mountains to nomadic parents, Dai spent almost his entire life dwelling in forests, caves and other unorthodox homes. His parents educated him to a degree, pouring all of the knowledge they had into him, but it didn't take long for him to start learning things on his own. His constant maneuvering throughout the wilderness and hunting of wild animals developed his physical condition and adaptability to a tee at a young age, and he only grew from there. Before long, Dai found himself with a large surplus of stamina and strength, and there were no prey that could run from him for long before getting caught. He helped his parents wherever he could, whether it be lifting heavy objects even his father couldn't pick up, or running back and forth for long periods of time to gather materials.

When he was around 12, he encountered the first prey he couldn't catch. He tracked and hunted the creature for hours on end, and by the time he had finally gave up, he realized he had accidentally separated himself from his family, oblivious to the fact that he would never actually find them. He was quick to accept the fact that he couldn't reunite his parents-- only looking for them for a few days before focusing on his own survival. He went on his way, attacking any living thing he came across quickly passing, until he ran into a meister from the DWMA who avoided his wild attacks, noticed his potential (especially after he tried shooting his own soul wavelength into her) offered to bring him with her. Although he was reluctant at first, Dai eventually agreed and enrolled into the academy.

Dai initially had an extremely hard time both as a student and as a meister, which was understandable due to the fact that he was the furthest thing from a civilized human one could find. He scared off many potential weapons, and couldn't even resonate properly with the few who actually tried to partner with him. Once he got the resonance process down, Dai made it clear that he only had plans of partnering with weapons capable of cutting people. He dominated the few missions he was allowed to go on, and managed to get into the EAT class after proving himself to be a meister capable of fighting.

Possessions:
He doesn't have anything that he would care about losing.

Partner:
Ceinwein Oliynyk

FUN FACTS:
The scars riddled around Dai's body and face are, of course, from his multiple scraps with humans and animals alike.
He is very flexible and agile. He can also dislocate some of his joints at will.
He has a great natural strength, being able to lift most heavy objects with little to no issue. He's lifted smaller fallen trees and used them as battering rams against opponents before.

• Dai absolutely abhors the fact that he cannot see souls. He claims that he doesn't care or need to see them, but it upsets him when the people around him see and describe souls.

Screenshot 2021-04-26 060131.pngEdgar Morgan

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Height: 6'2

Hair Color: Black

Hair Style: Slicked back

Eye Color: Dull blue-gray

Clothing Preferences: Edgar prefers to dress in suits and ties. Sometimes he'll just wear a vest instead of a blazer but most of the time he'll be found wearing a full suit and tie. Edgar is also almost always wearing a longcoat. Usually as a coat cape. As well as a golden watch.

DWMA Tenure: 1 year

Fighting Style: Edgar primarily uses observation and calculation to succeed. He will poke at his opponent and fight conservatively until he can complete an analysis on them and figure out the best way to take them out in that current situation. He has no preference on weapon as he feels he should be capable of using any.

Abilities:
-- Super Soul Perception:
The ability to greatly distinguish the soul wavelength including any issues that may arise whereas a normal soul perception user wouldn't notice, but also break through soul protect, although doing so takes concentration and a clear mind. It also allows them to sense madness at a greater magnitude.

-- Soul Menace: An attack which allows the user to strike their opponent by channeling their own wavelength without the usage of a weapon.

-- Wavelength Control: An ability which allows for control over one's own soul wavelength.

Soul Wavelength:
  • Madness Wavelength: A powerful type of soul wavelength that makes one inclined towards madness.
    • Madness of Knowledge: The madness is said to give the person under its influence absolute knowledge to the point where they stop thinking all together.

Personality: Edgar is a highly intelligent individual who is also calm and quiet. While at school, Edgar conducts himself as a sociable, likable, and often easygoing student. Typically he'll have a nonchalant or uninterested attitude. In battle, Edgar is very observant. He can substitute careful examination in place of careful practice. He'll run off some mental calculations about current battle variables then he'll perform with impressive accuracy. Sometimes his calculations are incorrect or he just isn't powerful enough to pull it off flawlessly.

Character Flaws: Brutally honest, has good cooking skills, but often creates recipes that sound and/or taste disgusting, and during battle, Edgar will tank or be on the defensive as he analyzes his opponent. This often times causes him to take hits if he can't react fast enough and drain his stamina dodging. He's trying to work on analyzing faster.

Backstory: Edgar was born into a normal area of Death City by a Meister and Weapon. He is a descendant of the Great Old One of Knowledge and inherited the Madness of Knowledge. Growing up, Edgar didn't think much of Death City. He didn't really have an opinion on it as he had lived there his whole life. Never stepping outside the city. In the area Edgar grew up, it was chill and friendly. The kids were all nice to each other and enjoyed having fun. The other adults in the neighborhood were also kind and treated the kids with care. This gave Edgar a warm and welcoming place to grow. He felt safe and a sense of belonging. It helped Edgar to understand happiness and friends. He also understood what it meant to care for someone and for someone to care for him.

In his early teenage years, Edgar lost both his parents when they were out on a mission. This gave Edgar his drive to become a Meister. He wanted to become a strong Meister so he'd make his parents proud. This made him begin training and studying all things Meister, Weapon, and soul. He eventually learned about the DWMA and knew he had to enroll. He took some more years to study and train. Reading books, articles, talking to people as well as practicing with various weapons, training his body, mind, and soul. During those years, the friends he had in his neighborhood all naturally grew apart. They still cared for each other they just took different paths and didn't really have time for playing anymore. When Edgar turned 17 he enrolled at the DWMA and has been since.

Possessions: A longcoat that belonged to his mother and watch that belonged to his father.

Partner: TBD

Servamp-Snow-Lily-cosplay-Costume-Coat-Tailor-made.jpg

Name: Lucien Boulanger

Gender:
Male

Age: 19

Height: 5’11’’

Hair Color: Blonde

Hair Style: Long (for a guy) and styled to be an inch above his shoulders. He seems to possess an ahoge

Eye Color: Red

Clothing Preferences: Dress shirts and slacks, often accompanied by a long black jacket and gaudy flashy accessories like earrings or scarves. He always strives for a “suave” look when not in the kitchen (where he’d be donning a chef’s uniform and a toque blanche)

DWMA Tenure: 5 years

Weapon Form: Chef's Knife. It looks like a regular chef's knife that could be found in a kitchen…with the exception of its ability to cut/chop up souls of course.

1619467368272.jpeg

Resonance Form: Big Chef's Knife/Sword. In resonance, it grows to the length of a broad sword, gets sharper, becomes more durable, and gains the ability to siphon whatever blood it comes in contact with to either repair any damage to itself or bypass flesh (and other physical barriers) to directly cleave the soul without damaging the host body. A blade meant to perfectly cut a soul and carve out any inedible parts. During resonance, his meister would also gain the Diner’s wavelength.

51c145f8-08bf-4554-925d-b6e72701f328

Soul Wavelength: Diner's wavelength – those that possess this wavelength have a very acute sense of taste, especially when it comes to souls. They can distinguish the difference between a soul with just one lick. Taste the various qualities/"flavors" of a soul and are highly sensitive to them to the point where they can sometimes acquire the qualities of the soul they consume (though this is rare as it requires an especially flavorful soul with a strong quality).

Personality: A friendly and flirty person, Lucien comes of as easy-going sort of guy…at least until you talk to him at a dinner table. That’s where his critical nature shines through. There are few foods he doesn’t cook himself that can satisfy his lavish palette. If he lives with someone, he’s always the one that does the cooking…unless you want to listen to him nitpick about the food all night. Lucien always has something to say about something he puts into his mouth whether it’s blood, a soul, or otherwise.

Lucien is confident and opinionated, with a strong sense for aesthetics. He trusts his instincts and is more inclined to listen to his emotions than logic for the most part, though he is far from dumb given his grades tend to be on the high end. If it’s not about food, Lucien tends to be frivolous and playful, both in how he dresses and his attitude towards others.

Despite being a picky person, Lucien’s nature tends to be on the positive side. He doesn’t give up easily and his goal, besides graduating as a death scythe to prove to doubters that he can, is to open a restaurant in Death City and create the ultimate ‘soul food’…after traveling the world and tasting various cuisines of course. Just like his father, Lucien has a love for food. He’s just a bit of a drama queen.

Character Flaws: Picky eater, critical, haughty, prideful, stubborn (about food). He’ll get headaches if he’s out in sun for too long

Backstory: His father is a 3-star chef from France. His mother is a 400-year-old vampire who fell in love with a human’s cooking (as well as blood) and married him. No one knows where Lucien’s weapon gene came from, though it’s likely from his father’s side since his mother’s family tend to be highly reclusive. Growing up with humans in a family-owned restaurant in Paris, Lucien lived a fairly regular life…for a dhampir anyway. Other than headaches from prolonged sun exposure and preference for the rarer side of meat, Lucien didn’t seem to have any of the special craving for blood regular bloodsuckers possess. On the contrary, due to the fact that he was born with a Diner’s wavelength, which granted him a sensitive sense of taste, Lucian had always been a picky eater. Being spoiled by his father didn’t help. It was ultimately this, and his respect for his father, that drove him down the path of culinary arts…at least until one day, while working in the kitchen, his hand turned into a chef's knife at the age of 14.

Naturally, he, and those around him, were quite shocked. His parents (mainly his mother) spoke with Death and, before he knew it, he was being whisked away to Death City to enroll in DWMA. Lucien spent a year in NOT learning about himself and his abilities before transferring to the EAT classes—because he liked the name—and he’s been there ever since. The young Dhampir excelled in his classes, proving himself to be an incredibly talented weapon with his naturally high physical abilities, excellent sense of battle, and a good head on his shoulders. Weapon transformation came easily to him. So easily, in fact, one had to whether he might've acquired a bit of that bloodsucker’s natural transformation abilities after all. The problem?

99 evil souls + 1 witch soul.

That is the requirement to make him a Deathscythe – a requirement none of his partners were able to meet because Lucian would immediately spit out any soul he didn’t like as soon as it touched his mouth. Refused to eat anything that didn't meet his standards. No matter who he worked with, Lucien never once even came close to 99 souls even though defeating the targets and acquiring the Kishin eggs wasn't the problem. All his partners complained that he was being too difficult and it wasn’t long before Lucien acquired the moniker ‘The Gourmet Knife’ due to his pickiness in regards to souls - or at least souls he was willing to consume. Finding a partner that could handle his unique taste and resonate with him grew to be difficult such that even Lucien was starting to give up on graduating as a death scythe when he received an invitation to join the RIP class.

Possessions: A locket with a picture of his first crush (a famous chef). Earrings made from his mother’s blood, his phone, his wallet, kitchen utensils and supplies (he brought his own set to Death City though he doesn’t always carry them around).

Partner: TBD

Theme(s):

Name: Cole Jonathan Baker

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Height: 5'7"

Hair Color: Black

Hair Style: Medium-length, layered, and split slightly to the right

Eye Color: Brown

Clothing Preferences: In combat, Cole will wear slim-fit gear aimed to allow him maximum mobility. He can typically be seen in black one-piece suits that can have multiple thermal layers underneath depending on the location for the mission including a stiff windbreaker hard shell hood that can extend from a small pack attached to the back of a harness that is attached over his suit. Protective padding for shoulders, elbows, and forearms are standard, but typically his legs will have less padding for more open movement with the exception of holsters if necessary.

Outside of combat, Cole is pretty comfortable in a standard button down of some assorted color, often underneath a light zipper jacket with the exception of the hot summers of Death City or during colder months where his style will adjust. Ideally, Cole prefers to wear something with a hood and pants with some room to move without worrying about creases. He likes pockets. In fact, he tends to be a function over form type of individual with his clothing assortment, including opting typically to just have a nice pair of dark sneakers over more stylish brands. Notably, Cole does prefer to always keep a multi-tool on him and his in particular has a bolted on pocket clip, so regardless of what he wears, there is normally somewhere a stainless steel clip on a pocket.

DWMA Tenure: Cole was taken in by the DWMA at age nine after two years of being evaluated by psychiatric professionals related to his behavior and claims of seeing images and hearing voices. His training a Meister did not start until age fourteen. Regardless, he has grown up in Death City and been with the DWMA for most of his memorable life.

Fighting Style: Cole greatly prefers ranged fighting, specifically with a rifle or gun, although he would have no qualms with a bow or any strung weapon. In fact, Cole has a distinct disdain for close-ranged combat and would likely opt to use a slingshot before a sword any day.

Abilities: - Paranormal Sensitivity Whether considered a latent form of Soul Perception or a sixth sense all-together, Cole has from a young age been able to directly perceive the paranormal, specifically that of ghosts, aberrations, and the nuances of the occult. This is not something Cole could initially "turn off" and thus it plagued him in his youth. This is not exclusive to visual stimuli as it can extend to whispers, slight grazes, and even faint smells. Once refined within his time at the DWMA, Cole can to a notable degree tune out some of the stimuli of his sensitivity, but not entirely remove them from his sensory field. In addition to being able to tune out some of the stimuli, Cole can at the least differentiate between traces of magic, the demonic, and the undead.

- Soul Perception Once Cole refined his Paranormal Sensitivity and developed Soul Perception as a Meister, his Soul Perception had the unique trait in that it was also "always on" without much if any cost to him. His ability to use Soul Perception has subsequently became quite refined, being able to use it to constantly and accurately track Soul Signatures as well as having a heightened clarity in what he can see, again being able to differentiate between different sources. However, this is intrinsically different from Super Soul Perception Cole cannot gauge Madness, intent, break Soul Protect, nor does he possess the incredible range of some Soul Perception users.

- Wavelength Control Cole has fairly significant control over his Soul and his ability to connect with Weapons is notable in that he can act as a Utility Meister exclusively with ranged weapons, being able to use them in conjunction whereas he cannot with any form of melee weapons. His Wavelength control is best suited to be extrinsic, as in being used for or augmenting ranged weaponry. As this is the natural state of his Wavelength, he has failed to ever utilize Soul Menace despite knowing the principles behind it.

- Soul Tracking Cole has developed a unique ability that utilizes his innate Soul Perception and his affinity for ranged weaponry. Unless otherwise purged or overpowered, Cole can track the movements of any targets (up to 8 at once) that he hits with a ranged weapon by implanting a piece of his wavelength in the cartridge. This ability can last anywhere between thirty seconds to ten minutes, dependent on if the target hit has a strong enough Wavelength to overpower his own minute amount. In targets too significantly powerful, this tracking ability won't work at all and if he attempts to track more than eight simultaneously, he becomes overwhelmed by the intensity of the movement and loses his ability to keep them sorted out--with the exception of using this on targets that are stationary.

- Slight Resistance to Madness Cole's training for controlling his Paranormal Sensitivity was to maintain a "sound mind" and learn about all of the various forms of spiritual manifestation so that he could find calmness in understanding. As Cole has natural practice with actively maintaining a "sound mind", he can delay the onset of Madness. The double-edged sword of this trait is that once his Sound Mind is lost, his Paranormal Sensitivity is exacerbated in a vicious cycle of mental decline.

Soul Wavelength: Cole has a fairly standard Wavelength with the exception of being highly preferential to ranged weaponry. When pairing with Ranged weapons, Cole can act as a Utility Meister whereas he his pairing with any other weapon would be standard at best.

Personality: Cole might be what one would call a "background personality" in that he doesn't have a single trait or quirk that stands out significantly from the others outside of perhaps his general disdain of combat. Typically, Cole is fairly calm, cool, and collected, and honestly must remain so for the most part to maintain control over his paranormal sensitivity. It is possible for him to become quite irritable, even chastising others if they cause extra work or begin infighting, but this can also manifest if he begins to see others acting in such a way not befitting "his idea" of a Meister or Weapon. Cole has grown up somewhat romantizing the agents of the DWMA due to his perception and history with them. Cole find himself dutybound to his ideals for Meisters and has the habit of projecting that onto others, whether they be his superiors or peers. Otherwise, Cole is primarily intent on keeping himself and his mind under control. His method of maintaining his Paranormal Sensitivity is to maintain a "sound mind" as taught by his tutors, and for him this means maintaining his inner and outer calmness.

Character Flaws: - Aversion to Combat In terms of combat, Cole's biggest flaw is his outright disdain of it. Cole has a distaste for fighting, sparing, or direct physical combat outside of that for entertainment, such as boxing or the UFC. Cole will attempt to resolve an issue without combat in any way possible and even when fighting, he attempts to stay out of the fray and fight from a range. If forced to fight, Cole is much to the mentality of "don't pick a fight you can't win" and takes no pride in victory nor shame in defeat. Cole greatly prefers either support or scouting roles on teams and has an almost volatile disdain for reckless fighters that cause unnecessary conflict. With all of that said, Cole would not leave an ally or a teammate behind simply due to his aversion of combat, causing his disdain of those that start unnecessary conflict even more.

- Reliance on his Perception Whether it is his paranormal sensitivity or Soul Perception, Cole has an inherent reliance on them. They are both so intertwined with his natural senses that it's not terribly difficult for him to simply not notice things that don't stand out to him. These issues may manifest in things as simple as difficulty piecing together a puzzle to not picking up on certain clues in an environment to even not noticing certain interpersonal queues in social situations. It is a situation of "the more you sense, the less you see."

- Lactose Interolance Despite his love of cheese, Cole is highly lactose interolant. Eating any notable amount of dairy will cause gastrointestinal issues without Lactaid supplements and a moderate amount of dairy will cause highly distressful abdominal cramping until resolved, which may take upwards of three hours.

Backstory: Cole was born into a Mormon family in Utah, starting his life relatively reserved and mundane considering the Mormon lifestyle. This life wasn't meant to be for him as his paranormal sensitivity was essentially present from birth. What once could be explained away as "imaginary friends" or the overactive imagination of a young child soon became the well-described and disturbing explanations of seeing those long-dead, even before his own birth. His youth in this sense was fairly tumultuous. Those that didn't berate him for his stories or believe he was attention seeking were downright fearful of him due to his descriptions of the dead and knowing old rumors or stories that a mere six year old couldn't possibly know. Given his extremely conservative Mormon upbringing, this caused considerable friction within his small community.

Cole was removed from classes repeatedly, often considered a delinquent or heathen, and ultimately treated quite poorly by the otherwise highly communal environment he was part of. Soon enough, Cole began acting the part, lashing out at local buildings and doing whatever he could to drown out of the whispers he heard. It was rare he would see a full body manifestation, but the voices were incessant. This culminated at age seven when Cole found himself constantly plagued by an intense burning smell and whispers that told him it would not be alleviated until "it" burnt. For whatever reasons kept secret by the conservative Mormon town, this tortured spirit desired the house of a widow be burnt to the ground, and Cole obliged. Once the house was nothing more than foundation, the only burning smell left was that which he made.

This was also the major turning point in his life. Cole was caught and it was determined more serious intervention was necessary. Cole was one of five children and his parents, living the last several years in shame due to their middle child, provided no fight in the state intervening. Cole was evaluated and while initial diagnoses might have involved the rare case of childhood schizophrenia, it was one of the state agents--a former weapon student at the DWMA--that believed it to be more. Under her request, Cole was evaluated by agents from the DWMA to determine if he did truly possess some aptitude with perceiving the paranormal, and it was confirmed. His parents were informed and Cole was accepted into the DWMA much like young weapons are accepted to learn how to control their weapon transformations for daily life.

From age nine and onward, Cole was a permanent resident of Death City attending classes at the DWMA. While a unique case, it was not impossible to teach him. Cole was given a primary caregiver and legal guardian due to his age, and even visited his actual family on holidays that were entirely lost at how to even approach Cole and his abilities. Cole never received support or an apology from them. That might have been why it was easy for him to cling to the support of the DWMA and those that helped him gain control over his life there. Once Cole was twelve, he decided to push for the basic classes for Meisters at the DWMA and by age fourteen he was taking official classes with a rigid physical regiment. He wanted to give back to the community that saved him when his own was happy to exile him.

Name: Yuri Sado
Gender: Female
Age: 18 Years
Height: 5'11 (180 cm)
Hair Color: Ivory

Hair Style: A volley of pale tresses jet from her scalp and fall downwards, falling just short of her lower back. A cascade of long braids intertwines between dreaded tufts, held into place by golden bands. The carefree and unkempt mane gives her the silhouette of a wild beast when looked on from afar.

Eye Color:
Skyblue

Clothing Preferences: Yuri prefers more formal wear with bright decoration and golden embroidery. It is a steep contrast from the uncouth style she displays elsewhere. Her style has a severe bias to lavish wear and she ensures that every article that she decorates herself with is clean and free from wrinkles.

DWMA Tenure: Yuri's occupancy at DWMA before enrolling in the new program spanned the course of five years.

Weapon Form: Subtility is a burden reserved for the coy; a notion that Yuri affirms with every breath. At base form, she is an eccentrically decorated mace and flail. It is heavier in size and more dense than average-- a hulking meister is required to use this form to its highest potential. As a weapon, Yuri is geared best for mid-range engagements. The chain portion of the flail is capable of extending up to 5 meters at the flail's full crest. When extended fully, a meister will be left defenseless for some time should an enemy advance beyond the peak-- as such it takes a combat-wise individual to take advantage of her strengths. The end of her weapon form is covered fully in serrated blades, as a result of this, she is capable of dealing both blunt and bladed damage. As a weapon, Yuri will reward experience with versatility.

D_Ia-k1WwAEbN0H.jpg

Resonance Form:

The striking head of the flail diverges into three more, equally deadly bulbs. It is somewhat mentally strenuous for friend and foe alike to keep track of three whip-fast bulbs, but when used well-- she is capable of greatly inhibiting an enemy's ability to advance. While the brunt of the force is dependant on the meister, she is somewhat capable of directing the striking pattern of the bulbs to limit the mental strain. However, when co-operation is poor, this can backfire and cause the chains to collide and tangle. In the best circumstances, this form is an incredible defensive and offensive boon to her allies.

Soul Wavelength: Agony Wavelength-- Yuri makes her enemies battle with the self-loathing rage of a wounded animal. The more injured an opponent is, the greater their perception of pain. The actual injury they would otherwise sustain is no different, this wavelength only tunes the way a victim's brain construes the sensation. Every lash will feel deeper than it is and every concussion will feel more dizzying the longer a battle is allowed to proceed. The effect is also applied to her.

Personality: Tenacity is a cornerstone of Yuri's personal creed; she is always fervently driving towards her goals with zeal. To Yuri, nothing is impossible and she will always do everything in her power to get what she desires. A ruthless businesswoman, many of Yuri's aspirations are frivolous in nature. She is a fan of the gaudy, be it cuisine, fashion, or entertainment. The acquisition of the aforementioned lavish eccentricities is what motivates her relentless approach to her goals. Nothing anguishes her more than an idle body or mind; she prefers to stick close to people much like herself, partially to expedite her own goals. She can be derogatory to those that annoy her, but for the most part, she manages to be cordial when her temper is not flaring. A part of her impetus for behaving this way is to motivate the subjects of her humiliation. It is her firm belief that most people would be a lot happier if they were to just copy her lifestyle and temperament.

Yuri can be mean-spirited... or even sadistic at times. This aspect of her personality is buried deep within her personhood, but given the right conditions, it will bud. There are a few things that will provoke her malice. One of the biggest ways to aggravate her ire is to surrender; this does not solely extend to battle, but every aspect of life. The scent of defeat has always been an alluring commodity, to the extent that Yuri always feels compelled to push the source deeper. It is an emotion that Yuri has never related with; seeing it on others is her only exposure.

Character Flaws: Yuri has no restraint when it comes to things that give her pleasure. She is very addiction-prone and will often forgo her own personal health to chase after things that bring her joy. This aspect makes her very easy to manipulate given the manipulator possesses something she desires.

As passionate as she is, it is difficult for her to divulge her focus. She is very single-minded to the extent that she is unable to change her focus until whatever goal she held is achieved.

Yuri is honest to a fault-- regardless of circumstance, her pride compels her to never tell a lie.

Backstory: The Sado surname is a family that comes from old money. Yuri's ancestors were former aristocrats that invested the bulk of their familial wealth. This allowed them to forgo learning any kind of trade while still maintaining a relatively luxurious lifestyle. The Sado family were famous for their eccentric tastes in artwork and the many museums that were operated under the family name. They lived in the ever bizarre Death City, merely for its exotic architecture and the proximity to DWMA. There were distant ties to the school, though no recent family member up until Yuri sought to continue them.

The family eventually fell from grace over the course of many years due to one too many poorly made decisions. Yuri's parents were the type of people who lived in two worlds simultaneously. Outwardly, they would invest a great deal of their dwindling to appear wealthy. Internally, they barely managed to live from check to check. The lack of drive due to a life of comfort prevented her parental figures from acquiring any marketable skills; their employment involved basic and remedial work. It would have been enough to live off of, were it not for their less than frugal purchases of artworks and fancy dress.

Before complacency and idleness became ever-present in their bloodline, the Sado family was a lineage of weapons. The gene did not seem to take every generation, but it had taken root within Yuri's veins. She felt somewhat fated to be the one who would dig her bloodline out of the trenches at the realization. As soon as she was able, she enrolled as a student in DWMA. Her temperament with most partners was poor, but she did show some latent talent. When she was able to 'click' with a partner the results that were yielded were extraordinary. Unfortunately, nothing concrete had held long enough to acquire a suitable number of souls. Ironically, the fast track that Yuri so intensely desires is what is holding her back the most. There is an expectation that any partnership with her should yield immediate results-- anything less would only serve to impede her goals.

Possessions: The basic commodities: Purse. Phone. Backpack. Ect.
A handkerchief with the insignia of her bloodline, a minimalistic purple bear.

Partner: Unknown

Name: Adelle Stone

Gender: Female

Age: 16

Height: 5’7”

Hair Color: Blonde

Hair Style: Out of her face, but otherwise loose and free

Eye Color: Pale blue

Clothing Preferences: Unlike most teenage girls of her time, Adelle prefers to wear clothes that cover most of her skin. She doesn’t like cleavage or tank tops in the slightest. She wears pants or long skirts. Most of her clothes appear very old fashioned, but that’s how she likes it.

DWMA Tenure: None. Adelle was recently invited specifically to join the R.I.P. class.

Weapon Form: Adelle is a multi-form weapon with four different options. She can transform into a spear, a club, an atlatl and a slingshot.
stone-age-spear-3d-model-low-poly-obj-fbx-blend.jpg
hoehlenmensch-keule--spielzeugwaffe-neandertaler--steinzeitmensch-kostuemzubehoer--20141.jpg
atlatl-2.jpg
Slingshot_%28weapon%29.png
Resonance Form:
  • Spear - grows longer, perhaps some sort of spear storm ability where there are spears raining down
  • Club - big spiky club
  • Atlatl - throws longer sharper spears, faster reload times, hunter’s instincts
  • Slingshot - catapult (big slingshot)
Soul Wavelength:
  • Old Soul - Her soul has a very ancient and ominous feel to it. It doesn’t give her anything special. It is very good at putting people who perceive it on edge, though.
Personality: Adelle comes across as a very stern and harsh person, but there’s history that explains why she is like that. She isn’t fond of men in general due to negative experiences with them and she doesn’t blunt herself at all when interacting with them even if they aren’t directly related to all of her trauma. When working in teams, Adelle often finds herself trying to step into a leadership role so being a weapon rather than a meister makes things a bit difficult. She struggles to trust other people to lead, but with a partner, she can often find contentment in backseat leading, so to speak. She doesn’t like to add flowers to things that don’t need flowers. Adelle is a ‘get straight to the point’ type of person. She’s got a good head on her shoulders, too. Her parents made sure her education was top notch.

Character Flaws:
  • Adelle is rather blunt and lacks a sense of humor.
  • Adelle isn't used to working in large teams. Usually it's just her and a meister.
  • Thinks very highly of herself when that doesn't always apply.
History: Adelle was born into the Stone Family. Her family can trace their ancestry back to the first weapons created by the witch Arachne and their line has always been a line of “stone age” weapons. That is actually why they all inherit the last name of “Stone.” Throughout their family line, there have occasionally been multi-form weapons that inherit two or more of the forms they tend to receive; however, it’s not common and the last one her parents are aware of was five generations ago. Naturally, when it was discovered that Adelle had inherited a multi-weapon gene, her parents poured all the attention they could possibly muster into raising her right so her ability could be used for the advancement of the family name.

Now, the Stone Family and the DWMA were not on good terms in Adelle’s early life. The DWMA had a reputation for neglecting Stone Family weapons because no meister wanted a stone age weapon despite its enhancements or potential benefits. Given severed connections, Adelle was taught through in-home schooling and both her parents worked with her to master all of her transformations. Raising her was their life and she is their legacy.

When her family felt that she was ready, they used connections within their line to find her a meister capable of wielding her who would appreciate her forms regardless of how ancient they were. His name was Maxwell and they quickly became good friends. Despite having no association with the DWMA, the two of them hunted kishin egg souls, grateful to be able to play a part in the safety of the world. Adelle’s family continued her education and she worked on strengthening her bond with Maxwell at the same time. They grew closer and Adelle loved having a partner she could trust fully and completely. She bore her soul to him and he wasn’t on edge about it in the slightest.

Actually, though, he liked it too much. One afternoon, he tried to kiss her. When Adelle slapped him, something inside him shattered and there was no bringing back the partner she had known. Adelle tried. She really did. However, the next time it was worse. On the verge of being sexually assaulted by her partner something in Adelle shattered as well. Using a partial transformation, she used one of her spearheads to pierce his soul, altering it so that the two could never pair again. Somehow, it wasn’t enough and he continued to pursue her. Adelle was afraid to talk to her parents about it because she wanted to maintain the legacy of a strong family and strong families didn’t get assaulted by partners. It just was an unspoken rule. She took matters into her own hands, though. Maxwell ended up dead. Though no evidence can be found, Adelle does not deny having been involved in the incident.

Unbeknownst to Adelle, Lord Death has always been keeping an eye on her family. They are an ancient family, after all, and he always wanted to bring them back into the fold of the DWMA. Now that their prized multi-form weapon was without a meister, he found it to be a great opportunity to reach out to Adelle directly and allow her to make the decision for herself. Not only that, but he offered her a position in a new and even more elite class than even the E.A.T. students. It was the R.I.P. class. He had a partner in mind for her and should she become a death scythe as he hoped she would, he would honor her family by using her as his personal weapon.

Though she was hesitant because her family did not view Death in positive light very often, Adelle knew two things. She knew that becoming Lord Death’s personal weapon would do so much for her family. She also knew that entering into the DWMA would protect her from any consequences of her actions with Maxwell. Given those two elements, she accepted without question. Adelle will report to her first class with the others selected to join the grim reaper’s elite.

Possessions: On her first day, Adelle has a bookbag with a couple important things. She has her family tree, tracing all the way back to one of the first weapons. She has a tutorial book on using an atlatl because she knows it is not a common weapon, but it is one of her forms. Adelle has a journal. She also wears a stone amulet. It’s a familial thing.

Partner: TBD

DWMA Student File: Luka Baines
ghhmhqfwwwy.jpeg
Student Name: Luka Baines

Gender: Female

Age: 13 (almost 14)

Height: 4’11”

Hair Color: Brown

Hair Style: Down, shoulder length, bangs that are messy and get in her eyes

Eye Color: Green

Clothing Preferences: Comfortable and baggy

DWMA Tenure: 3 years

Fighting Style: Luka’s fighting style adapts to the strengths and weaknesses of her weapon partner. As a type two utility meister, she is capable of wielding almost any weapon you place in her hands without having to endure much of a learning curve. More than that, though, Luka has been referred to by Lord Death himself as a weapons prodigy. While she’s not very strong, Luka knows the strong points of weapons and she knows the weak points on the human body. Precision and speed are the perfect combination as far as she is concerned. Though her aim isn’t quite as great as her melee precision, it’s more than sufficient when she’s wielding a more ranged weapon.

Abilities:
  • Soul Perception: She can see souls. She can’t tell you much about the details of the souls she sees, but she can say that they’re there.
  • Soul Menace: … uh… they made her learn it. Luka will never use this in combat. She doesn’t see the point.
  • Wavelength Weapon: This is an ability Luka is still learning - like very early stages - in which Luka can manifest her soul as a semi-solid weapon. It doesn’t last very long, particularly if she throws it or otherwise detaches from it, and it’s not very strong in its early stages.
Soul Wavelength:
  • Sensory Soul: Ever a burden to her, Luka’s soul wavelength increases the intensity of her five senses and when she’s wielding a weapon, it increases the intensity of their senses as well. Were she ever to actually use soul menace, that trait would pass on to her target for a brief while (a few minutes maximum).
Personality: Luka is on the autism spectrum. This becomes fairly apparent when anyone directly interacts with her. She has a very flat and unemotional affect, she does not make eye contact and she does not understand a fair few social things such as sarcasm and humor. As awkward as she can be in social environments, though, Luka does try to interact which can sometimes lead to meltdowns. Her meltdowns are usually more reclusive in nature. There is one thing that brightens her mood entirely and brings her completely out of her shell, though - weapons. This is the area where she excels and is completely comfortable although her fascination still seems awkward at times. Another notable thing upon interacting with Luka is the fact that she is very frequently playing with a toothpick in her mouth. It’s self-soothing for her.

Character Flaws:
  • She’s on antipsychotic medication and anxiety pills. Missing these doses can be debilitating.
  • Poor social skills
  • Lacks strength
  • SENSORY OVERLOAD = BAD
History: Luka was born in South Dakota. Her understanding is that her mother was addicted to drugs and that this is the reason she was removed from her home as an infant, but it’s not something she’s asked a particularly large amount of questions about because her birth mother has never been her mother in her mind. Instead, Luka was placed with a foster family about a week after being born. She was quickly adopted into this family and it is the only family she has ever known. Her mother was a teacher and her father was a martial arts instructor who practiced quite regularly himself. He wasn’t connected to the DWMA in any way; he simply taught kids karate or jiu-ji-tsu or other arts within the range of his knowledge.

Her upbringing was meant to be that of a standard human’s upbringing although that didn’t quite work out as intended. Even weeks and months into raising her, her family noticed that she didn’t seek them out with her eyes, she didn’t coo like other babies did, and her learning seemed quite delayed by their understanding of what was to be expected. She didn’t say her first words when she should have, and everything children learn took Luka longer. Just before she turned two years old, Luka was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Supports were immediately put into place. In home therapy was set up to help her with learning and her parents were both extremely supportive of anything that needed to be done to help their daughter be as ‘normal’ as she could be. Things proved difficult in the beginning, but they were in this for the long haul.

In the basement of the family’s home, Luka’s father had a training room set up that he utilized for his own training. One morning, when she was almost four, Luka found her way down while her father was working and she quickly expressed curiosity about the weapons he had set up in various displays throughout the room much to her father’s dismay. However, given that he’d never seen such curiosity in her eyes before - emotion at all was rare, in fact - he decided to try enrolling his own daughter in one of his youngest classes to see if maybe that would be an interest he could foster in her. Luka struggled at first. She hated being around other people, but he still saw her eyes get bright whenever he was doing weapons demonstrations for the classes. He brought it up with her therapist, who was hesitant because she was four and weapons were dangerous, but who ultimately agreed that it might be good for her father to teach her independently of his classes and try to foster that light in her eyes.

The rest is more or less history. Luka excelled with weapons, so much so that when her family received an invitation for her to enroll in the DWMA when she was ten, they didn’t give it a second thought. Apparently, somewhere in her blood, there was a meister.

Though her life at the DWMA for the past three years has not been easy because she is not very social or interactive, Luka’s learned that there are teachers she can lean on when she needs to and she’s worked with a fair few different partners who were all thoroughly impressed with her knowledge of weapons and with her precision in wielding them. She has her father to thank for those things. Aside from weapons knowledge and use, she’s a terrible student. She rarely completes assignments on time, her handwriting is awful, and math doesn’t click. However, Lord Death decided to elevate her because her skill with weapons is exactly what is needed right now. He’s also hopeful that being around a slightly older group of students might help her feel more comfortable. After all, it's the younger ones that tend to be more activating on sensory levels.

Possessions: A sack of apples - Luka is a muncher, but she munches on apples which is healthy… to a point. She also has pockets full of toothpicks. It's her stim.

Given Name: “I’m Grace and she’s Erica.”

Surname: “We’re the Taghan Twins!”

Middle Name: “Jean, but I’d like to keep it a secret. Thanks!”

“Um... I’m Grace. I-I mean Erica Grace.”

What is your official DWMA Nickname? “We’re The Axe Twins! The Tag-ins. Hallbirds, as guys like to call us. They seem to think it's clever. Our official nicknames are confusing though. I am Axel Grace and she is Hunter Grace. You see, Grace got mixed up as our last name when we first joined the academy.”

Age: “We’re seventeen, but technically I’m a day older. I guess that’s what happens when you’re born at eleven fifty-nine at night huh?”

Gender: “We’re girls, silly.”

Height: “Well I’m 5’4, but Erica might be an inch taller. Every time we check the shorter one becomes the taller one.”

Hair Color: “Can’t you see Erica has black hair? We’re blondes, but we aren’t stupid! So don’t even think of making any jokes.”

Hair Style: "Jeez, you must really like our hair. We go to a stylist down the street from our apartment if you were interested in getting a cut like ours. Our hair is naturally wavy and we keep it at shoulder length. Gives us plenty of options, ya know? Erica would probably be just as happy with a simple cut, but I think it's fun to do matching cuts and try out different styles. So I guess it's kinda my fault. We have fun playing around with it, though.

Eye Color: “Dark Green? Hazel? I don’t know what you would call it.”

Clothing Preferences: "I mean, we've got a bunch of cute outfits. We're twins, so we always gotta play to the stereotype and wear something matching. We always make sure they're opposite colors, though. That way people don't get too confused. We generally try to find things that hearken back to Scotland. Gotta represent!

Standing

Are you an EAT, NOT, or NEW student? “We're EAT class.”

Are you a weapon or a meister? “They call us the Axe Twins. That kinda has weapon written all over it right?”

If a weapon, what type of weapon are you? “We’re dual battle axes! Although, Lord Death called us a fusion weapon once. We haven't quite figured it out yet, though.”

“L-Lord Death said we could fuse into one weapon if we used Soul Resonance ‘cause we are cl… I-I mean identical twins.”

Fusion Form Poleaxe

How many years have you attended the DWMA? “This is our second year!”

Soul Wavelength: "Yeah, um... d-don't ask my sister about this, please. I don't know what we used to have, but... l-like I said before... Grace was infected with madness. Hers is more of a Chaotic Madness wavelength and m-mine is a Stable Madness wavelength. L-Lord Death told me they were similar to the Madness of Fear and the Madness of Order."

Personal Profile

What would others say are your strengths? “Well people say Erica and I are a really good team. Twins can’t read each other’s minds or anything like that… or at least I hope they can’t, ‘cause we can’t, but I guess we just think alike. We have different skills too that make it easy to chose who does what. Like Erica’s really good at stealthy stuff. I mean, she could be a ninja, or a spy or something. I’m not bad at it either, but I’m better at… I don’t know, being a leader I guess. Erica doesn’t like to talk as much as I do. We’re both pretty smart though too. There’s just a lot.”

What would others say are your flaws? “F-Flaws? Are you saying we’re not cute? *Sniff* Ahahaha! I’m just kidding. Well, we’re sisters, so we don’t always get along. Actually, being twins makes it pretty rough sometimes. You know, ‘cause sometimes we start thinking life is a competition and stuff. Then one of us is always left feeling bad. But I love my sis! She’s my best friend too. I know, it’s hard to understand, but whatever. Also, we’re girls. So I guess we’re not the strongest either. I mean, we could be if we really worked at it, but I’m too lazy. I’d rather sit down and read a good book. Speaking of which, I like to talk a lot too. And I might get a little spacey at times. So I can get off track. Maybe that’s why I talk so much. Is that why Erica's always so quiet? Oh wow, see what I mean?”

Describe your personality in 2 paragraphs or more: “As you can probably tell, I’m pretty talkative. I’m Grace if you forgot by the way. It’s going to be hard to talk just about me, but I’ll do my best. I’m a little spacey, but it usually doesn’t cause a problem. Guys irritate me sometimes, but I usually try to see things from their perspective before yelling at them ‘cause culture and nature tend to make us think differently. And I guess girls can be idiots sometimes too, but surely not as much.

Also, I’m a really active person. I don’t mean active as in I exercise a lot. Rather, I just like to have fun. So I help plan school activities, join clubs, go on adventures with friends, read books, and all sorts of other cool stuff. That’s me in a nutshell. I don’t want to bore you with all of the stupid details.”

“I-I’m Erica. I don’t know what my sister said, but… I get nervous around people. I like to have fun and want to be with people. I just feel like I’m gonna mess up or something. ‘Cause if I say the wrong thing, people might catch on to who I am and not want to spend time with me anymore.

I spend a lot of time studying and trying to help out my sister, ‘cause she’s usually really nice to me, but she doesn’t know yet. She doesn’t know what I really am. I just hope there’s someone out there who will accept me for who I really am and still treat me like they do my sister.”

What do you like? “We love reading and animals. Erica likes cats especially. I don’t really care as much though. I also like spending time with friends. Not in crazy parties or anything like that, but doing really fun things like games or adventures or lunch. Something like that. I like helping people too. I don’t always feel that way, but most of the time. So does Erica.”

What don't you like? “Well, Erica doesn’t like to talk so much. We also can’t stand inequality and a kishin. I don’t like bugs much either. They just give me the creeps. Oh, and I don’t like gore a whole lot, which is a real challenge since I’m an axe.”

Give a 3 to 5 paragraph biography: “Erica and I were born in Scotland. Most people know what the Highlands are. We're from Lewis and Harris, which are sometimes lumped in with the Highlands. I was born late at night and Erica came early the next morning according to mom. We were heirs to some forgotten line of royalty. So we were technically princesses, but we didn’t live in a castle or anything like that. It was more like a farm, but it was fun and full of adventures. Back then Erica wasn’t so quiet. It wasn’t until she got sick one year around first grade. Then mom and dad had to send her off to a private hospital.”

Erica Grace Taghan: ”G-Grace can’t tell the truth ‘cause she doesn’t know it. The reason our birthdays are one day apart is because I’m a… a… I am a clone. I was made with the help of a witch’s magic. For all intents and purposes, I am her identical twin. However, from the moment I took breath, my purpose, my mission was to train as a spy and take down a tyrannical regime within Scotland. This regime planned to eliminate the world governments to create one government under a single leader. Who would lead people to equality, as they called it. However, it was only equality of conditions. They didn’t care for hard work and didn’t understand the realities of the human heart. Therefore they only held the world hostage. It was my mission to eliminate them, and I completed it. That is why my middle name was Grace. That way my name alone would cause trouble in the system, allowing me to create a better alias for myself. Now my duty is to… is to… I… um… I can’t do this anymore!”

“We never got to see Mom and Dad much cause they were always busy with political stuff, work, keeping the small town paparazzi out of our way, and tending the farm. Then a few months after Erica came back home… they disappeared. Neither of us knew what happened. After that, we were pretty much on our own. All we had was each other, which is one of the many reasons I love my sister. We had caretakers of course, but they were just placeholders at that point.

When Erica was sick, we’d always write each other. Sometimes she’d come up with these crazy tales of outsmarting an army by sneaking past them and impersonating their general or something cool like that, but then she’d write back the next week about how that had just been a dream of hers. She had a lot of cool dreams. I guess being stuck in a hospital all day forces you to make up stories in your head.

I got to see her a few times when she was feeling well enough, but not too often. It wasn’t until the last year of middle school that she finally got better. I guess I should be thankful I didn’t get sick too. Although I wish I could have stayed with her at the hospital. We’ve never been closer though, and now we’re both here at the DWMA.

Erica Grace Taghan: "I-I’m sorry. It scares me. ’Cause I don’t know what to do. I already f-fulfilled my purpose. I’m only allowed to tell certain people, and they usually just want to ask a ton of questions. They always ask if I have a soul. Do I? M-My sister said that since I turn into a weapon, I gotta have a soul. I wish I didn’t have to lie to her though. She’s the only one I t-trust. There is one other thing, though. M-my sister doesn't like to talk about it much. When we first started as students, we... we got split up on one of our first missions and she became infected with madness and she almost killed someone from the school. The infection spread to me to eventually due to our fusion form, but she has it much worse. O-of course we're in control of it now. That doesn't mean it's gone, though... never gone.”

How do you feel about the DWMA? “It gives us a place to learn about our powers while helping rid the world of evil. So we like it.”

Why have you joined the DWMA, what motivates you? “We hope to make a positive difference in the world with our skills and talents."

What are your goals while attending the DWMA? “Right now, it’s to figure out this Fusion Weapon thingy Lord Death told us about."

Meister Application
e2d01b7290e80c3ce9e56253c0a56eea--anime-art.jpg

Name: Yuan (Dongmei Wu)

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Height: 5’5’’

Hair Color: Dyed red, but her roots are black.

Hair Style: Bob cut

Eye Color: Grey.

Clothing Preferences: Casual. tee shirt and a pair of jeans will do in most cases. Anything easy to move in will work as well. She has no special love for dresses, but is willing to wear it on formal occasions or when she has to. A far cry from when she used to wear qipao dresses and traditional Chinese garments every day. Nowadays she only wears them when she misses the feeling of silk against her skin.

DWMA Tenure: New.

Fighting Style: A mashup of various Chinese martial arts including Sholin Kung Fu, Bajiquan, and Tai Chi . She is perfectly fine going fist to fist with any opponent, but has been trained to use any tool at her disposal to win. Dongmei is an adaptable fighter and will often try to make use of her environment to her advantage. She’ll look for any and all weaknesses to exploit during combat and feels no shame about fighting dirty. Her best weapons are a tonfas or a Chinese long sword, but it’s not like she doesn’t know how to use a gun – being part of the Chinese mafia and all.

Abilities:

Soul Perception – Average. She can see souls and sense wavelengths within a certain radius, but it’s not like she can break through soul protect or anything.

Soul Strike—An attack that rattles the soul and disrupts the wavelength of the target. Similar to soul menace, Dongmei channels her wavelength out to strike the opponent. However, instead of an explosive, concussive force, it temporarily halts/distorts the soul’s natural rhythm, making it difficult for the victim to resonate or use wavelength techniques for a short while.

Soul Vision—A technique that focuses her Clairvoyant wavelength, enhances her natural predictive capabilities, and allows her to see several steps into the future. Resonance with a demon weapon amplifies her Clairvoyant wavelength and enhances this technique, allowing her to see further into the future and with greater clarity.

Soul Wavelength:

Clairvoyant Wavelength—a wavelength belonging to those who possess a seer quality, it lends itself towards incredible foresight. Those in possession of this wavelength tend to get unexplained, sporadic visions of the future…or rather, potential futures. In Dongmei’s case, she typically got them through dreams until she learned to harness her wavelength.

Personality: A sly and clever person, Dongmei likes to tease others, but she’s rarely mean-spirited when she does so…unless it’s towards her enemies. Beneath her demure and gentle exterior is a calculating and opportunistic mind. She’ll grab any advantage she gets. Cheat with a smile on her face. Raised by her father to be the future heiress of Chinese mafia group, she’s adopted much of his teachings even though she hates his guts. While not exactly shy, and perfectly capable playing the part of a charismatic leader should it be necessary, Dongmei prefers to be the one pulling the strings behind the scenes. She’s a cautious person and has no special love for the spot-light. So long as she wins in the end, that’s what matters.

All that said, Dongmei isn’t entirely ruthless. She does have some degree of morals and respects traditional values like loyalty and honor as well discipline and hard work. She doesn’t agree with many of her father’s actions and wants to reform (if not completely re-create) the Crimson Dragon group. She also doesn’t think herself a good person and intends to give that position to her younger sister – after tidying it up of course. Deep down, Dongmei's the sort that likes the simple stuff in life. She enjoys reading the palms and fortunes of others, eating junk food, napping, practicing martial arts, plum tea, and punk rock. She also has a strong sense of loyalty, especially to her blood and those she considers family.

Character Flaws: Manipulative, secretive, deceitful, opportunistic, and somewhat ruthless. Dongmei is virtually blind without her glasses.

Backstory: The daughter of a Chinese crime lord and his first wife, Dongmei was raised to be the future heiress of the Crimson Dragon group, a large organized crime syndicate located in Shanghai. Her mother died when she was young and her father became the center of her life. From martial arts to school work, she was expected to be the best at what she did and she did whatever she could to not be tossed aside. Worked for her father ever since she learned her visions could of help to the Crimson Dragon group. After all, she had many other half-siblings gunning for her position. Even before her mother’s death, Dongmei’s father had many mistresses. Took on many wives, especially after her mother death. Even though Dongmei grew up with many ‘mothers’ and siblings she didn’t feel much love for any of them (though she pretended she did).

There were only two people in Dongmei’s life she cared about: her youngest half sister, Xialing, and her demon weapon bodyguard Yuan, whom her father had hired to protect her. Yuan was the first weapon she resonated with and the first person to make a realize that she had meister potential. He taught her all he knew as a former student of DWMA (who dropped out for his own personal reasons). About souls. About unique things she’d been able to see ever since she was a child. About herself. It was through Yuan that Dongmei was introduced to the paranormal world and it wouldn’t be a lie to say she had a bit of a crush on her bodyguard.

However, Yuan would die before Dongmei ever got the chance to tell him – victim to the horrid witch that ruined Dongmei’s life.

Dongmei had a bad feeling about Ranmao ever since her father first introduced her as his newest mistress. A bad dream. She tried to warn her father that the woman was a witch. That she would only bring ruin to the Crimson Dragon group. However, the leader of the Crimson Dragon had fallen too deeply to Ranmao’s enchantments. When Dongmei was 14, her father married Ranmao and everything went downhill from there. The Crimson Dragon started to change. Became crueler. Dipped into drugs and human trafficking. Sold (demon) weapons to evil organizations. Her father changed as well. Dongmei saw more and more witches visiting their home and was certain her new mother was plotting something behind both their backs. However, even though Dongmei could see into the future (or at least snippets of it), Ranmao was always one step ahead. Dongmei grew to hate the new Crimson Dragon. She stuck around for Xialing’s sake. Continued to work for her father as a member of the Crimson Dragon despite misgivings. Sooner or later she would inherit her father’s criminal empire anyway. However, when her father had Yuan killed (after Ranmao accused Yuan of having feelings for the future heiress) that was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Dongmei cut her hair and left home at the age of 16.

Dying her hair red, she worked as a part-time waitress, part-time fortune-teller in Death City until she was invited into the RIP class – just as she knew she would be. She'd seen glimpses of DWMA in her future. Yuan often told her fascinating stories about the school he used to attend. More importantly, Dongmei knew it was an opportunity. A chance to slay the witch that corrupted the Crimson Dragon. A future she wanted to bet on. Upon enrolling at DWMA, she chose to go under the name ‘Yuan’. She gained a taste for junk food and punk rock – tried everything she wasn’t allowed while living in the Wu house in fact. Yuan embraces her freedom and no longer cares what her father thinks of her. Living in death city, she came to realize that she never really wanted inherit the Crimson Dragon group in the first place. She just wanted her father’s approval, which she no longer needs. However, Yuan doesn’t want to leave Xialing with the Crimson Dragon as it is. She also owes Ranmao some payback and has no intention of letting the witch do whatever she pleases with the Crimson Dragon group.

Possessions: a set of Chinese tarot cards, a vision board, phone, wallet, a flower hairpin that Yuan once gave her, an extra pair of glasses (just in case), and a beaded jade bracelet that once belonged to her mother.

Name: Aiden Colin McCarthy

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Height: 5'8.5"

Hair Color: Red

Hair Style: Bright red hair with a medium length in the front and exceptionally long in the back.

Eye Color: Green that shift to red when using wavelength.

Clothing Preferences: Button downs, semi-casual, minimalistic.

DWMA Tenure: Three years.

Weapon Form: Roman Tower Shield with four internal hands; two vertically in a set at the base approximately four inches from lip and two horizontally across its mid-section with a bracing strap typically connected to the Meister's arm via resonance. His shield form is approximately the same thickness as a regular Roman scutum, but is comprised entirely of metal as opposed to braced wood. His shield form is 48 inches in height, 19.5 inches at its widest, 8 inches at its base, and 14 inches at its apex. Calculations put the surface area of his shield at approximately 5.4 square feet with a thickness of 0.2 inches to 0.28 inches tapering inward for an average of 0.23 thickness. Steel weight is a factored as 41.82 lb per square foot of inch thick steel, bringing his shield form weight just below 52lb by basic calculations and up to 61lb with the additional decorum and large rounded center, which are all solid. This would be his effective weight as a shield for anyone not benefiting from the lightening effect of his wavelength.

roman-tower-shield-328336.jpg

Resonance Form: When Resonating, the shield form Aiden has shrinks in size by approximately half and hovers above the back of his Meister, granting them an immense boost to raw physical strength. Resonance with a proper partner or mastered to a sufficient degree will result in the wings of his shield manifesting as golden energy that allow for zippy flight. Notably, his Meister can opt to detach him from their back and utilize him as a shield, albeit smaller; his wings will still act as large, durable barriers that can regenerate slowly if they are damaged by an intense force.

Soul Wavelength: Aiden possesses the nigh-mythical Grigori Soul and under the correct circumstances can manifest wings. Despite his large size in weapon form, the nature of his Grigori Soul allows Aiden to take flight, making his massive shield weight next to nothing for his Meister while providing all of the physical benefits of carrying a nearly indestructible shield. If Aiden is used by a Meister that can wield multiple weapons, this "weightless" trait will extend them them as well given their is a sufficient connection between all parties.

Personality: Aiden is naturally light-hearted and even somewhat air-headed upon first interaction. He had a solid, supportive upbringing, no real trauma, and while he's far from blind to the downsides of humanity, he isn't precisely ignorant to it. Aiden particularly doesn't like to be compared to his siblings, specifically Roslin. Both weapons, but with entirely different aims. He can take great offense to those that find him coming short to his "prodigy" of a sister and her unique capabilities as a flamberge. Aiden can also be somewhat full of himself, unintentionally being somewhat arrogant or dismissive of the feelings of others. This comes at the core of Aiden not really being able to relate to the struggles of others or feeling unwanted. More trivial traits of Aiden are his love of music, dancing, even being harmlessly flirtatious. When it comes to his approach to combat or that of missions, Aiden is quite serious. Almost an entirely different person. Collected, focused, always ready to be swapped in to defend and actively making sure no one is hurt, to the point of feeling guilt if they are.

Character Flaws: - In terms of combat, Aiden does not possess a single offensive ability outside making his Meister stronger. Even as a shield bash, Aiden is really only blunt force which is rarely applicable. Worse off, Aiden has no real intention on changing this, so he is not presently working on any way to add an offensive capability to his combat set. This would mean if he is paired up as the only weapon of a Meister, they would be purely defensive.

- Aiden can be somewhat ignorant and dismissive to the feelings of others. This is in part due to his poor ability to relate to just being upset in general, outside of perhaps not measuring up to a sibling or other family members. This would be the exception to his general emotional ignorance. Notably, it is not as if Aiden is completely incapable of realizing how others feel, this negative trait is more akin to not noticing the issues until after an exchange as having or internally minimizing how one might feel as he wouldn't consider it "a big deal"

- Aiden is extremely bad with rejection. He has spent the last few years of his life feeling fairly well received and even subconsciously desirable due to his interactions in the EAT class and bouncing between partners. Aiden may not outwardly show it, but the concept of rejection will eat at him for a while, sometimes even significantly upset him depending on the situation. In fact, this issue is one of the other few situations where he would be able to easily empathize with someone as opposed to being dismissive of their feelings.

Backstory: Aiden comes from a family of Meisters, being a fourth generation member of the DWMA and in fact is not the only member of his immediate family to be in the DWMA. His eldest sister, Roslin, is known as the Searing Flamberge of the DWMA, with a mission completion rate in the high 90's. His older brother, Brendan, is his only sibling without a weapon gene but still acts a renown Dagger Meister. His youngest sister is only a few years blow him, tailing him as a Claymore likely soon to be joining EAT classes. Needless to say, Aiden has grown up in the exact type of environment nurturing for becoming an elite.

That said, Aiden did not immediately "take" to being a Weapon nor the environment he grew up in. His mother was a Death Scythe level weapon before retirement and in fact returned to the field multiple times by request. She shared the flamberge form with Roslin and passed on training to her early, this soon becoming the trend in the family. While his other brother was no weapon, he grew up with a fair amount of resentment for what he once thought was Roslin being a favorite, but his own success resulted in praise from his parents that mitigated that. Aiden saw this and was quite hesitant to follow any path given what he had saw at a young age, but as he grew and took on his new identity, he didn't intend following in the footsteps of his mother or siblings.

Aiden spent time with his grandparents for several summers in his youth, specifically the Meisters of his father's side. It was then that he was brought back to the roots of why any of them ever became Meisters: to protect. Aiden had grown up seeing the idea of being a weapon being that of duty, family lineage, gaining praise, and even looking for recognition. This wasn't exactly what he was after. And it made sense to him after spending time with the older generation. Being a weapon, or a Meister, or even just a first responder was not about the fame or recognition, but about being the first line of protection against the forces of evil, death, and destruction no matter what they may be. Aiden may have been a shield, completely unlike the bladed weaponry of his family, but that was okay. He wouldn't be the one to deal a decisive strike ahead of all others. He would be the one to protect those that stood behind him.

Despite his initial reservations, Aiden joined his family for training and ultimately the DWMA, finding himself in EAT classes. Aiden and his unique properties made him a very vied for weapon as he was easy to wield and could even assist in the wielding of others. This, alongside Aiden being from a family of well-known weapons, pushed Aiden into a type of spotlight and popularity that not only somewhat went to his head despite his otherwise good intentions. This tenure in the DWMA brought him to think quite highly of himself as many often wanted to pair with him if possible simply to increase their own strength, or to swap between weapons. Aiden, never being one to care about landing a decisive blow, never took this to heart as he never intended to be offensive, so resorting to defending others situationally was suitable for him. This did give him a skewed idea of partnership as he never developed a single strong partnership and less pride in what he accomplished and more so how much he was of use.

Possessions: - A pocket watch with the McCarthy family crest, given to him by his paternal grandfather.
- Cell phone
- Wallet
- A pocket pen and paper pad

Partner: TBD

Sion Edgy.jpg
Sion Noguchi

Gender: Male

Age: Nineteen

Height: Six Feet

Hair Color: Black with patches of white.

Hair Style: Ruffled mess, cut high enough not to get in his eyes.

Eye Color: Orange.

Clothing Preferences: General Streetwear.

DWMA Tenure: Brand New.

Fighting Style: Jack-of-all-trades, master of none. Sion has received masterful training in most traditional weaponry, reached the highest honor in half a dozen martial arts, spent a lot of time at gun ranges, and has the experience to improvise with any unholy assortment of scraps to get ahead in combat; but the constant switching back and forth between different weapons as the situation dictated left him diversified and perhaps even uncomfortable with the idea of specializing himself in the ways of a single weapon. He is agile and flexible, opting to narrowly dodge attacks and deliver swift counters with his impromptu Soul Impact to tire his opponents out, but with no formal training in the ways of the spirit, Sion has had to train himself to peak physical strength and relies largely on that to bring foes down.

In battle he strikes fast and hard, with ingrained brutality that serves to cause potential secondary opponents to waver. His mobility is nothing to scoff at, he's practiced moving through, over, and under the streets of tokyo his entire life. There's no such thing as fighting dirty; the victor writes history anyway. Whatever he hasn't learned without the guidance of meisters, he more than makes up for in experience. He's seen all sorts of fighting styles, and has a counter up his sleeve for almost anything.

Abilities:
S
oul Sense - An ability based in the essentials of soul perception, but with a lack of formal meister training comes different iterations. Sion was born nigh-blind, and his first meister-like qualities manifested as his ability to nearly perceive like a normal person by sound alone, and sense souls. Sion hears exceptional wavelengths like the rustling of leaves or the rustling of chains; like booming cannons or soft music, each unique in its own pattern and unique to each person. He doesn't quite know what to make of the sounds he hears, but it aids his awareness and allows him to somewhat track certain targets by the sound they make.

Soul Impact - A self-taught amalgamation of forcing his wavelength against other's that manifests as sparks, crude but effective. Essentially Soul Menace in the rough, and thanks to his wavelength landing these hits doesn't tired him out, as he effectively turns the opponent's energy into the force that he hits them with. Could definitely use some refining to ensure he isn't just wasting his energy.

Soul Drain - An ability unique to him and his wavelength, as far as Sion has understood it. It requires prolonged exposure and isn't effective in the middle of combat against an unwilling target, but might be able to achieved during a grapple or some such. Sion accelerates his wavelength to "overcharge" it, by forcefully resonating with another's wavelength and simultaneously draining it. During this ability, which if the situation allows for it may very well be initiated in tandem with another resonation, Sion presses his might beyond its limits and weakens his opponent. The ability slowly wears off over a few seconds as soon as the physical connection is lost and either side's souls return to normal, though with the target a little worse for wear. This can be initiated against friend and foe alike, and negated only by very fine wavelength control. It may very well mean the end of a fight against any grappled opponent, however.

Wavelength Control - Contradictory to his very nature, his wavelength, and popular belief, Sion has masterful control of his wavelength by sheer composure and force of will. It's a practiced skill, cultivated by a lifetime of swapping weapons and having to learn to quickly match wavelengths in live combat. Sion would very much be designated a Utility Meister in a collegiate setting.

Soul Wavelength: Parasitic Wavelength - A void that sucks you in and steals from you; it hoards only to own and to keep to itself so that other's may not; that is the feeling that this contemptible wavelength spreads. Sion's soul eagerly grabs at other souls that come in contact with him, sucking their energy and adding it to his own. This is a double-edged sword. Soul-based attacks, certain magics and other wavelengths - even ones such as healing - have a lessened effect on him; and though they may still injure his body, each blow imparted renews Sion's vigor. However, aside from being excluded from benefiting much from his allies' wavelengths, this means that being Sion's partner can range from being exhausting to a downright miserable experience. Somehow, this needs to be remedied.

Personality: Sion is as crass and pessimistic as he is fierce and assertive, having lived most of his life with a mixture of knives to his throat and silver spoons in his mouth; but while being so far removed from everyday struggles has definitely put him on a pedestal in his own eyes, he's become unprejudiced from constant exposure to the darker sides of humanity. Most of the time you win a fight by acting first, and so he's learned to take quick initiative in pretty much any situation. There is a layer of guarded emotions and distrust when first met, but in the end Sion wants and needs human contact so he'll open up to be a fairly chill - though blunt and unabashed - guy. He's lived his life on a knife's edge and hasn't learned to fully cope with a safer living yet, but it's getting there.

Character Flaws: Lack of nuance. Sion wasn't raised to see the world in shades of gray, but by pure black and white. There is good and there is bad, good should be nurtured and bad should be purged. He's recently become aware of this logical flaw and struggles to maintain a semblance of righteousness in the heat of combat. These thoughts can lead to interpersonal dilemmas, but the most apparent issue is Sion's impulsiveness and short fuse.

Childhood
8e4f4713f71b9c7f003e20fab10fd194.jpg
Noguchi wasn't his real name, but it's better this way. Sion is looking to leave his past behind, after all.

The Yakuza of Tokyo is a beast with many heads, and their public image is disputed among the common folk. Some perceive them as protectors, some as scum, some as businessmen, but it all boils down to who's in power in that area. Sion's father, Katashi, was one of these many yakuza leaders, and perhaps one of the least competent and most violent. His aim was always to conquer by force, and he had no qualms about using his own children to that end.

Sion was a special case. Not long after his birth he was found to be nearly completely blind, making him completely unsuited for the plans his father had. Instead, he was sent to live with a fringe member of the gang, to be both out of sight and out of mind. The member, unhappy with having a child entrusted to them, passed him onto their parents to be taken care of. Out of all his siblings, Sion alone was offered a chance to live a normal childhood under these two adoptive parents.

For a while things were well. Every once in a while the Yakuza would check up on him, but other than that he lived normally. A little too normally for a blind child. His adoptive parents noted that even though he couldn't see or read, Sion didn't need a white cane to walk and was able to find objects without help. They had heard stories of remaining senses being amplified when one is lost, but the effectiveness with which Sion was able to use his hearing seemed disproportional. On one of the visits from the Yakuza, a member picked up on the oddity and reported it back to his father. Katashi's interest was piqued, and he ordered Sion to be returned to his care.

Katashi attempted to proceed with the training that Sion had been meant to go through if he wasn't visually impaired, and was surprised to find that he was quite capable of most everything that his siblings had been. Simultaneously, he started hiring doctors and experts to look into Sion's condition. They concluded that Sion's hearing wasn't natural, that it was likely the manifestation of an extraordinary wavelength, and that his blindness could be reversible with surgery. The news had Katashi celebrating, and before long Sion was down the path of his siblings.
Early Teens
f9a884f31b4fbc02a1f0a3095d35b428.jpg
Day out, day in, practice. Sion had a lot of catching up to do, and he wasn't used to this kind of environment. Turned out that finding a meister who'd aid a murderous Yakuza boss was hard, so Sion had to make do with his own experimenting and traditional weapon techniques. All the masters and teachers he had teaching referred to him as young master, and the Yakuza that priorly just came to check on him now bowed whenever they were in the same room. Everyone but his father treated him with the utmost respect, and his day to day life was decided for him. This, along with his newly restored eyesight, was a lot to adjust to, but Sion came to like it.

So much so, in fact, that he started following his father's callous and evil philosophies. Power belonged to those that would take it, and any acts of charity or mercy made you weak, lazy, frail. Katashi started bringing his son fledgling demon weapons to practice his capabilities as a Meister. Be they the children of other Yakuza members with the weapon gene, or trafficked kids with nowhere else to go, they were the only source of socializing that Sion was spared; and the power dynamic was not fair. Sion lost any previous semblance of a balanced social life, but he was learning how to fight, and quick. None of the demon weapons - untrained as they were - could keep up with him, so Katashi just kept bringing in more and more of them. In his eyes, his son was just so much of a prodigy that the demon weapons were too ordinary and weak to partner with, but in reality Sion was evolving his parasitic wavelength and slowly burning them out by cannibalizing their energy.

Being placed on a pedestal, only interacting with demon weapons that he treated like slaves, and having these expectations placed on him changed Sion. He'd become sadistic, angry. It all came to a head when he was sent on his first mission along with three of the demon weapons. It was a simple raid on a warehouse, but it went very, very wrong. They ended up getting caught in an explosion, and only Sion managed to get out alive. He spent some time in the hospital, and was forced to reflect on the past few years and how his behaviour had lead to the deaths of his friends, though he used the term lightly. A sense of hopelessness came over him.
Late Teens

He coped the only way he knew how to. Keep going, keep following orders. He gave up his free will more or less completely to let senior Yakuza order him around as a mindless mercenary. If he didn't make any conscious decisions then he couldn't be held accountable for the consequences or outcomes of any mission in his own mind, so he followed his dossiers to a T and refused to take responsibilities sent his way. He didn't want to have to think about the atrocities they did anymore, so he pushed that part away.

He was older now. Whether or not he liked it, violence kept coming to him. Random attacks on his apartment, his father's power-hungry missions, the expectations of his contemporaries within the Yakuza. It was a lot for a teenager to have on his shoulder. He had to have one or more of his demon weapon allies at his side at any and all times, and sleep was a faint memory. It didn't help that things were going downhill for Katashi's branch of the Yakuza either; most of the other leaders were getting tired of his escapades and they were slowly getting cut off. The kind of slow methodical disconnect from any and all businesses they ran that the Yakuza leveled against them wasn't something Katashi was capable of defending against.

It ended with Katashi vainly launching a foolhardy attack on a local unaffiliated gang with his waning forces, and maybe they would've won if Sion hadn't finally given up and walked out. He took the demon weapons with him, got them all out of Tokyo, and split. He changed his name, burned everything he couldn't sell and ran. He didn't have a plan, he just knew he couldn't stay another second in this life.

And that's when Lord Death got a hold of him.

He's been going through the basics at DWMA in private for a couple weeks and talking to some professionals, and is ready and primed to put everything he's learned towards something good.

Possessions: Sion's only possessions from before his move is a series of ear piercings and a brass lighter that he received from an older sister.

Name: Callah Meeler

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Image:
selesia-upitiria.jpg

Height: 5’7

Hair Color: Fire

Hair Style: Usually left down but occasionally braided

Eye Color: Her eyes are naturally blue. They’re a glassy gray after the accident, but she wears colored contacts so her eyes look normal blue.

Clothing Preferences: Casual: Jeans and t-shirt.

DWMA Tenure: 9 years

Weapon Form: Sniper Rifle
1142454.jpg

Resonance Form: Her weapon form becomes larger and the bolts become deadlier. Callah’s range also extends to enormous levels and her shots auto-lock on to targets selected by her meister meaning they are never going to miss.

Soul Wavelength: Thunder Wavelength: Callah’s soul wavelength is very loud and makes it hard for other souls to access soul based abilities when they are around her unless they are able to match her wavelength.

Personality: If someone were asked to describe Callah, they would say she is very outgoing and tends to be a little obnoxious. She doesn’t, in most cases, think before she says anything so to some people that is really annoying. Others don’t normally mind it. She has a lot of energy and it shows whenever she interacts with her comrades. She talks fast and is always jumping from one topic to the next. She’s eager to learn because she can’t exactly read as much as she used to so she’ll be one of the first to raise her hands in the class. Callah is the type of person who you can find dancing when there is no music playing, she’s the type of person you either learn to love or hate. When interacting with her it wouldn’t be easy to recall or believe that she went through trauma as a little girl. She’s proud of who she is becoming despite all the ups and down.

Callah can also sometimes be observed “in her own little world.” She’ll appear completely unaware of the world around her - mostly because she is unaware of it at times due to being blind - and yet she’ll be interacting with things that aren’t there. She’s not psychotic in the slightest, but she allows an active imagination and a vivid memory of what certain things look like to populate the world around her in her head so that she has company and beauty when there is nothing else to engage with.

Character Flaws:
  • Impaired vision: Callah is legally blind. Her vision is extremely blurry and she cannot easily in the slightest. She identifies people by voice - not by sight. She uses a cane when navigating new places on her own, but knows the DWMA itself well enough to navigate without it.
  • Very Loud Soul: Callah’s thunder wavelength can be very disruptive to other individuals if she’s not putting in a small bit of effort to control it. This means a piece of her focus is almost always occupied.
  • Impulsive: Doesn’t think about how she will safely/successfully complete a task before starting it.
Backstory: Callah was born in the countryside in England to a family that didn’t consider themselves to be highly abnormal in any sense of the term. Her mother was a chemist, actually one of the leading chemists of her age, but when her daughter was born, she moved most of her work into her home because otherwise she knew she would never be around to support the new child. Callah’s father was her primary caretaker despite this. Once her mother set up a lab in the basement, she basically lived down there. Nonetheless, Callah had a fairly happy childhood. She went to a public school where she made friends her age, and when she was at home, she spent time with family since most of the country homes were too far away for the kids to really get together and play.

At the age of 9, Callah came home from school one day after not having seen her mother for a few days. She had done a science lab experiment in school that day and decided that she might be able to help her mother since school had now taught her how to be a scientist too. However, Callah significantly overestimated the value of her own knowledge. When she got down to her mother’s lab, a place she had never really explored before, Callah tripped over a rug that was curled on the ground, falling face first into a vast collection of chemicals and alerting both her parents to the severity of the situation. Before she knew what was happening, her mother had scooped her up and her entire family was running out of her home… just in time. Many of those chemicals had been flammable and their reactions ignited the home.

In their rush to get out of the house, though, Callah’s parents failed to notice her screams until they were outside. Some of the chemicals had also gotten into her eyes. Once they were aware, they, of course, rushed her to the nearest hospital which just so happened to be on the outskirts of London.

That’s where things get interesting. Somewhere in the midst of the accident that both burned down their home and stole a majority of Callah’s ability to see, a unique soul wavelength was also unleashed in the nine-year-old and it was loud enough to draw the attention of every meister in London. There weren’t many, but it was enough. A few showed up expecting to find a threat at the source, but what they found instead was a young girl on an intensive care unit who had just lost her eyesight and her family home. She had two loving parents, both of whom were concerned beyond seemingly possible, who had no idea what had just been triggered.

Lord Death was notified of the situation and then agents of the DWMA reached out to her family because this new wavelength would cause them problems if she didn’t learn to control it. The best place to learn that was within the halls of Death Weapon Meister Academy. Once Callah recovered as much as she was able, which took its own fair amount of time, she was enrolled in N.O.T. classes to learn to master her wavelength and the dormant weapon gene that she was suspected of having. She also made friends within the academy’s walls who helped her to master her newfound blindness. Something else happened, though. Her weapon form - soon discovered to be a sniper rifle - gave her back her vision within the scope’s range of sight. It became something she loved to be because she could see. This led her to pursue further education through the DWMA, entering into the E.A.T class and eventually being recruited into R.I.P.

Possessions: A walking cane - uses it rarely though.

Partner: TBD

VOX, SHEENA

BASIC INFORMATION
Gender: Female

Age: 20

Height: 5'11"

Hair Color: Black

Hair Style: Cut short and choppy almost to her shoulders, often messed up due to her helmet.

Eye Color: Blue

Clothing Preferences: Vox favours underclothing that is easy to move in and overwear that will take a hit or three. She commonly wears skintight jeans, tank tops, and minimal jewelry barring the ankh around her neck along with a heavy leather jacket and reinforced gloves. Dresses and skirts are a no-go, and black is the colour of choice, but her makeup and eyeliner is highly variable. Her boots are heavy enough to be considered weapons all on their own, and they are highly polished, mirroring the soft matte finish of her gloves and coat.

DWMA Tenure: 5 years
COMBAT INFORMATION
Fighting Style: Vox prefers to face her problems head-on. She is proficient with multiple melee weapons through her previous training in the academy and is perfectly willing to use her fists when necessary. Although she has not taken a partner, priding herself on being a versatile meister, Vox prefers blunt weaponry. She is comfortable with taking a beating and capable of keeping a cool head under intense pressure.

Soul Wavelength: Energizing Wavelength
Vox's soul has been described as obnoxious by most who have worked with her. It is loud, present, and thumps with a rapid beat that matches her (usually measured and shallow) breathing. This is irritating to most who can perceive souls, but hers is eager to incite another to move to its rhythm, and the dance that ensues fills her partner and herself with a sort of manic energy. This seems to amplify particular wavelengths, offering Vox's energy to the behest of her partner, but she prefers to adhere to the beat and let it guide her speedy steps.

Abilities:
Soul Perception: A standard meister ability. The pulse of souls specifically draws Vox's attention.
Wavelength Control: The ability to control one's own wavelength.
Soul Dance: Vox sways with the ethereal beat of her soul. By moving in tune with the beat of her wavelength, Vox can further amplify the natural resonation between herself and her partner. She is predictable when using this ability, as any opponent with soul perception will know when she makes her next move, but her power increases exponentially as she persists.

PRIVATE INFORMATION
Personality: Vox exists in a perpetual cycle of keen interest and distraction. When she is present, she engages with her peers, urging them toward a picture of indisputable success and strength. This is a radiant desire in her mind, a wall of unbeatable fury and ability, and she will do absolutely anything to benefit that end. When she is not, she seems distracted, talking if pressed about her plans and conflicts. Neither of these allow her exceptional compassion for the people around her, and Vox prefers it that way; her work with others is subject to the same conditions that she imposes upon herself. Bigger better faster stronger.

Character Flaws:
Single-Minded: When Vox commits to a goal, it often encapsulates the entirety of her focus to the detriment of her health and well-being.
Impatient: These extreme bouts of focus are near-exclusive, leading Vox to be viewed as intense (and occasionally aggressive), demanding information that might otherwise be freely given and rifling feathers for the sake of efficiency. Anything that can be done can be done well quickly - and all time wasted on the field only allows your enemies to grow stronger. Vox hates to waste time, and is the sort of person who might walk over a date being ten minutes late.
Driven by Expectation: There are people that Vox expects very little of. There are others that could give her the world and still find a way to disappoint. Vox holds her initial impressions of others close, allowing little to change them, and treats people as such. She grows frustrated when her expectations are not met and continues to push even when others are demoralized by failure.

Backstory:

Sheena's childhood was spent in the locker rooms of boxing rings and the parking lots of fast food restaurants. Her father boxed professionally by occupation, and her mother was a miester, often off for work over weeks at a time. She took a keen interest in her father's fights from her earliest memories, and her parents fostered this interest as best they could, modifying equipment (or finding new pieces that could be used for her) as she grew. The girl would spend hours at a time training herself through the exercises and routines her father had imparted onto her, and although this may have been concerning or alarming to other people, her parents let her be as long as her schoolwork was getting done.

At ten years of age, she was enrolled in a beginner's boxing club with some of her classmates. Less than a month later, she was removed from the program for "brutal" behaviour and recommended to a higher age bracket. Her mother had cried on the telephone when Sheena was forced to call her to pick her up, and she'd thought she was in trouble, skulking into the car with her head down low. Instead, she was beaming - enthralled. She was to carry on her legacy. She spent tireless days calling around, looking for a league for older children that might allow a meister with a certain speed below their feet, and finally brought her to meet a new group. None of these lasted long. Although the more physical arts were where Vox found her passion, and the majority of her conversation, very few normal humans can keep up with a miester on a mission to be the best bare-fisted fighter that has ever lived.

At fifteen years of age, Vox's parents had exhausted every available option to them besides training meant specifically for miesters. They had hoped to keep her at home for at least another year, to have some time to be a normal teenager, but without any sort of outlet the teenager became surly and unmanageable and ultimately miserable. The DWMA was the obvious option - as her mother was a graduate and it was only a few hours from the Californian border. Vox visits once a month or so over the weekend (depending on the weather) and maintains a close network of family connections, but few other personal ones from her past.

Her time at the DWMA so far has been... difficult. Although she is capable of working with most melee weapons, she has not yet found someone who she feels is suitable as a long-term partner, and many of these partnerships have been to suit particular ends.

Possessions:
- reinforced (slim "tactical" - padded knuckle and the like - civilian gear) gloves
- black work boots
- motercycle helmet (a vintage bell custom covered in stickers, of course)
- the motercycle (tm)
- flip phone, wallet, keys

Name:
Rio Stella Monet

Gender: Femme

Age: Fifteen

Height: 165cm | 5'5"

Hair Color: Brown

Hair Style: Often Rio will tie her hair back into a loose ponytail, though often it is pulled forwards due in part to her constantly playing with her hair.

Eye Color: Brown

Clothing Preferences: It's most common to see Rio her usual sweater and pants, though she tends to keep up with some trends, though often her shirts are hidden under warmer wear.

DWMA Tenure: Three years

Weapon Form: Rio's form as a weapon is that of an arming sword a double-edged weapon with a golden cross guard, centered within the guard, is an sapphire-appearing gemstone in the center. Due to her rather short length, Rio forces her partner up-close and personal with their foe, leaving ranged combat out of the option for the most part, unless she is thrown.... Please don't throw her...

Resonance Form: During resonance, Rio's size becomes much greater, as she changes from an arming sword to that of a greatsword, requiring both hands, Rio's soul resonance requires her wielder to throw away the idea of defense.

Soul Wavelength:
  • Lullaby Soul - Rio's Soul wavelength is seen as rather meek in comparison to those around her, and often runs secondary to stronger wavelengths as a gentle undertone to their rhythms. Yet, for those whom listen, a warm, soothing hum can be heard. Akin to a mother's song almost, and when focused on, can aid in diminishing the distress and panic felt. With enough time, Rio's wavelength can possibly pull one out of their madness with the soothing song.

Personality: One of the first things to notice of Rio, is that she is often depicted as a wall flower, seldom the first to approach someone new, and preferring to keep to her own as much as she can. Despite this, Rio often keeps a gentle, warm smile on her face, and tries her best to be the supportive, caring friend of everyone, easy to get along with, and with plenty of patience to draw out the best in everyone. Confident of herself, Rio seldom lets her own problems get in the way of her goals, nor does she seek to drag others into her problems. However, this kindness often leaves Rio doing what she can to fix the problems of others before dealing with her own, and she is almost always the first to sacrifice her own goals to avoid confrontation with others. That's not to say, though, that she wouldn't stick up for or to her friends. Quite the contrary, actually. When push comes to shove, Rio is the first to the line of defense for her friends, and will defend them to her last.

Character Flaws:
  • Asthma - Rio has moderate asthma, while under most circumstances, she has it controlled, there are times in which she suffers from sporadic attacks, usually requiring the need for her rescue inhaler. If her inhaler is not around, things go from bad to worse fast.
  • Everyone Else First - Because she puts the needs of others before her own, Rio is known to run herself to the point of exhaustion before even thinking of taking time to herself. Furthermore, she tends to feel deeply hurt when she feels like she's let someone down, whether she did or not.
  • Waters that run Deep - If something bothers Rio, it'll bother her for days at a time. Often staying at the back of her mind, it'll occupy at least some part of her mind and affect how she acts or what she does until she can get herself over the bother.
  • Allergies - Simply put, Rio is severely allergic to Shellfish.

Backstory:
Born to the Monet family in the heart of Manitoba, Rio is a fifteenth generation weapon in her family. Born within her family home as the eldest of three, her early childhood was spent mostly at home, playing outside, acting as a warrior princess defending her home from whatever threat came to be, sometimes, it was from the family dog invading her kingdom, other times, it was stopping the coup attempted by the stuffed animals. Throughout these days, Rio learned bits of her family history, and why her family was known as "Knights of Monet." This quickly changed, though, as her younger siblings came into her life. As she turned seven, the twins Aiden and Caden came into her family, which hosted it's own challenges that Rio was not ready for. Living with two younger siblings was far more a strain that Rio was ready for, especially with the energy they presented. Putting their needs over her own, Rio became a motherly elder sister to the two, taking more and more time of her day to continually play with the two, or read stories, or whatever she must. This was especially common when her parents would leave to go on missions, leaving the three in the care of a nanny, whom Rio always stepped up to help whenever she could.

Then, as she turned ten, it was time for Rio to follow the same route that her mother and father took, and the route of her family for fourteen generations before her, to become a weapon at the Death Weapon Meister Academy. Due to her lack of physicality, and asthma, her physical training was far less thorough and rigorous as generations past, despite this, Rio made up for this with her wavelength training, and especially study of past weapons, meisters, and tactics. In those two years, Rio changed gradually, while her parents thought the training would bring out a confident soul, and a brave warrior, it seemed to do the opposite. Rio became far more reclusive, preferring to stay to herself rather than interact with those around her, a side-effect of how quiet she became. Rather than talking with those around her, Rio preferred to keep herself at work, while listening to the matters of those around her, always willing to help those in need. It showed even further with her Wavelength, preferring to be supportive rather than amplifying, akin to a baseline or heartbeat, rather than a guitar amp as her father put it. This, however, did not delay Rio one bit, as after two years of training led her to the steps of the Death Weapon Meister Academy, where she began her classes and training.

Possessions:
  • Inhaler
  • Epi-Pen
  • A cell-phone
  • No less than three pens
  • Her wallet (Shaped like a Red Panda.)
Extra Note(s):
  • Rio is bilingual, fluent in English and French (Canadian Dialect)
Partner: (This can be blank if you don’t know yet. I will help pair people up if anyone is having trouble and that will likely happen after characters are accepted.)

"~To Kleave, Carve, Defend. Tat Is Te Way~"

Full Name: Tavares Luisinho Damir Castelo

Shortened: Tavar / Damir

Nicknames
- Tavy (Family)
- Foxglove (Father)
- Rebenok (Avo / Grandfather)
- Herald (Friends)

Partner: TBD

Height: 5'10

Stage Name To Be Used: Diener

Age: 17

DWMA Tenure (Years): 2

Gender: M

  • Cast out of Gaea Prime for the fact he had failed the Trial of Essence, at the young age of six, Tavares would experience the full force of the crushing void that had always been like a nagging itch that lingered in the back of his mind. To be exiled for lacking The Feel was no small decision. The very source that bonded Earth Shaman to the spirits of Nature itself was a sacred gift, the very way Shaman identified themselves. For the tribe of Gaea, to lack this connection despite being one of their own, was an omen of misfortune upon the individual, which could extend to all those that continued interaction with them and so through debate and deliberation it was decided that after one year if Tavares still showed no sign of progress he would be exiled. With his situation he no longer had access to the tutors of the tribe, his father was forbidden from training him; it was believed he could find his link by a journey of the self. Twelve long months of desperation went by; sitting in rain, under a waterfall, in the hot sun, for hours- and in the end it was for nothing. Exile was inevitable. And since his maternal family shared no real Shaman lineage, the agreement between his parents was simple. They would leave his father's tribe behind, and go to Italy to raise their son close to where family was. Where he would be accepted for who he was, and what he was capable of.

If this did anything, it only sent Tavares into a deeper depression. The energetic youth of vitality he once held evaporated, and for all those days leading to that trip to Italy- Tavy was as silent as a rock.

In Venice, Tavares was forced to find stability. Family was briefed of what had happened and why they had returned to Italy. The circumstance while bleak, was not unfixable. Having learned of his grandson's situation, aware of the psychological impacts it could permanently have, Ken took his grandson into his arms, sat him down by his side, and told him the truth. That there were other options he wasn't seeing. And that was to give the other side of his heritage a try. To see if he possessed the same Demon Weapon gene that his mother and aunts possessed.

Curtain call, the Black Deck. A vigilante organization created by his avo to support DWMA. Illegal as it was, one could not look at the statistics of the Black Deck's mission success rate and say it was just a nuisance that DWMA would need to clean up after. Ken developed the organization in his young adulthood and now in his old age it had flourished wonderfully into a underground organization which not only trained future recruits to be sent to DWMA as new EAT agents, but it also worked to hunt down the strays of the supernatural world causing havoc. Given the choice, the option and opportunity was easy, Tavares accepted the proposition made, and instantly his training began. In just eight months, he unlocked his latent spiritual abilities- and in turn, discovered a new wavelength. In just six years, he was on the field. Grown to a rebellious loyalist. Thirteen years old and he had begun doing the good work, the purging of the vile. Tavares tackled any mission he was assigned with a group with zeal. The cheerleader of his team, the spirit behind them-- and also the first to move before the others in the heat of battle.

This kind of energy while inspiring, would ultimately lead to the fatal error he made which would lead to his discovery in France. At fifteen, during the heat of battle, after intervening in a fight to save a life- Tavares and his partner came into contact with a One Star DWMA Agent. In that moment, things went from good to bad. Try as he might to dodge this DWMA Agent, the One Star Meister and her own team tracked Tavares and his down. Cornering them, and then engaging in a fight in an attempt to escape without being taken in or discovered. In the end, Tavares, his partner, and three of his other team members were captured. In an attempt to make a deal, he told a lie. One that severed his bonds with the Deck, and would force him to join DWMA in a manner that was less fulfilling than he felt. Ultimately, that lie would lead to his teammates also joining with him. Those captured with him shared his fate and in the end, after joining DWMA, they would grow distant from each other. Partnerless, regretful, and yet satisfied he had not given up the Deck- Tavares would remain in DWMA under the hidden eyes of his family. Working under DWMA as per the agreement, till the day he was invited to RIP.

"Return To Dust, Baine of Land"

Name: Ceinwein Oliynyk

Age: 19

DWMA Tenure (Years): 6

Height: 6'2

Partner: TBD

Clothing Preference: Form fitting, flexible and breathable clothing. Tends to favor broadcloth or wool based fabric.

Gender: F

  • Born in Wales, raised within the Shaman community of Nemain, Ceinwein, like all her peers was taught that nature held two great forms. One represented the serenity of nature, the other represented the ferocity. One could not exist without the other because these two aspects were one in the same.

The Earth Shaman of Nemain, were a society that held an entire culture of their own that was separate from the modern world. Electronics were not a common thing in their households. They did not build houses from steel or alloys, they created them from bark. Bending trees, weaving plant life, shifting the molecules within sand and creating granite- They were a hunter-gather society; a society that held guilds which performed various societal functions; a society that found entertainment through a culture that was rooted in sports between its own members and smaller neighboring clans within the great forest of Artio. Within this culture Ceinwein found little exposure to the outside world. More so because Nemain tribe were a people who greatly valued tradition, and by tradition a Nemain Shaman was not considered a young adult till 15. The unity with DWMA had allowed exposure to the outside world however but there were simply things the tribe did not allow. Cars, pavements, roads, representations of industrialist were forbidden. It would not be for several years that she would experience the rough feeling of tar pavement that made up a street road.

Despite her tribe and the clans within the great Artio forest being secluded, they occasionally offered their numbers to the Master of Life in honor of what he represented. To the Artieans, Lord Death was a physical manifestation of Nature. A strange, multidimensional god to be respected, honored, understood, and listened to when advised. He was a symbolic representation of what the Great Mother spoke of. A being so powerful that if they desired, the world would fall around their pinky in not even a second or nanosecond, but instantaneously.

Ceinwein, like all young, was raised with this worldview. With that, her respect to Lord Death rose and her love of Nature as an Earth Shaman only doubled. By tradition, she would one day get the opportunity to choose the path of Life she desired. At the age of 15 every Nemain Shaman was taken to the outside world for three months where they would return with a decision in the path they desired. The path of Serenity: remain within the tribe and find duties that would suit her skills. Or the path of Ferocity: leave the tribe, explore the world and what it shared, and carve one's own future for themself.

Before this, Ceinwein would train. She would first master being one with the earth, the trees, the sky, the animals, or she would be denied her choice to choose when she was of age.

    The timer ticked, training began.

Unlike other females, like her father, Ceinwein was big. A lot of that had to do with the exceptionally diluted bloodline she carried but to her, the 'gigantism' was nothing to fret over unless her elders pointed it out. She was a girl where by the age of nine she easily dwarfed most of her peers- and often times this received unnecessary attention much to her internal dismay. As she grew, she gained the nickname Puma, a nickname which paid off. At eleven years old during a hunting expedition, in the middle of a chase, trying to capture a cub bearrabbit, her hand changed. From physical to material to a blunt metallic round head. Throwing her off balance and sending her into the dirt.

Spotted by a supervisor, in that moment, an exception to the rules was made. Becoming the first Earth Shaman to be given early opportunity to pick a path, at thirteen, two years after the event with bare minimum training from her father, the girl was allowed outside the tribal grounds. Off she and her father went. And for those next three months, Ceinwein's eyes were exposed to many wonders and treasures. So many different unique foods, sights, faces, and smells. She was hooked and the decision was cemented. At the very same age, her path to Ferocity began with DWMA. For the next couple years it would only continue when she transferred from the English division to the prominent Asian Branch in hopes to see more wonders.

At eighteen, during an putting with a small group of friends, a Kishin egg would rear ita ugly head at a nearby restaurant filled with people. Causing havoc, Ceinwein dispatched the beast, and upon being watched by a DWMA officer from America who had come to Tawain on vacation, he offered her an opportunity she couldn't ignore. It was not long a year later, she transferred from Asia to America's branch. Entering RIP officially, absolutely willing to leave all behind for another grand opportunity.

Gender
Male

Age
Eighteen

Height
6'1"

Hair Color
Ashen White.

Hair Style
Messy long white locks that Milo attempts - albeit in vain - to brush every morning.

Eye Color
Golden.

Clothing Preferences
Milo only owns one style of clothing, and that's the traditional combinations of white, gold and black that belongs to his clan. The Ismael family enjoy embroidered gold details, icons like herrons, clouds and willows, and thick golden-threaded rope or chain tying it all together.

DWMA Tenure
Five Years

Personality & Bio
ce877674003b2de42dcd5a3afc58f551c9c3c4e5r1-505-607v2_00.jpg

Background
It was a stormy night. The electricity had gone out, and the room with the laboring woman was only lit by candles. A sweet aroma like that of spring permeated the room with the smoke from the embers of a few incense sticks. Her father was cross-legged across the room, reciting mantras aloud to calm his daughter. Her husband holding her hands. A monk on her knees with a bowl of hot water and several towels. Low chimes heard from the next room over. The stars were in position, the heritage was pure, everything had been accounted for. This child would be the one, the strongest in their bloodline. One possessing mystical powers they couldn't compare to.

Push.

Milo was born with a strong soul, one as mighty as ninety-nine others, and with the ability to transform into a weapon. His deeply traditional dynasty revered the ground he walked upon, and the old spiritual masters offered him guidance throughout his entire life. He was to be the quintessential manipulator of spirit. His touch was to cure wounds and ease the mind, or shatter evil and throw it to the wind. Their rituals and prayers had worked, the child's spiritual presence was overbearing even to the greatest of spiritualists in his family, but it all came at a price they never had anticipated.

Kishin eggs, werewolves and bloodsuckers were only the beginning of their troubles. It became so bad when he was a kid that they constantly had two agents from DWMA on their payroll daily to stay safe. Milo, blissfully unaware of these horrible attempts on his life, grew up to be a calm and rational fellow; though definitely pampered. The low-born in his dynasty's hierarchy was to serve his every whim with no objection, and only the elders were allowed to tell him what to do. Not even his own mother and father were to interfere; they had only been tools to bring forth this demigod. He was entirely raised by his dynasty's elders.

But the onslaught of would-be murderers was unforgiving, and soon a witch came to know of his existence. She became obsessed with the idea of abducting him and using him for her own evil purposes, and the money that kept Milo safe was waning. Soon he started becoming exposed to his assailants, and had to physically fend them off himself. Thanks entirely to the power of his soul he managed to keep himself safe, and with how he was being showered with praise he - instead of being traumatized - became nonchalant and apathetic to combat. When your entire life was surrounded by life or death combat, it quickly became very unexciting.

Regardless of their love for their perceived "demigod", Milo had to leave the Ismael estate to enroll at DWMA once he came of age. If he didn't know how to properly defend himself and control his soul, he would never be more than prey in adulthood.

Personality
Milo is the love child of spiritualism and higher castes. He appears to be very nonchalant and arrogant, but this is mostly because of the complete isolation in his early childhood. He never interacted with people his age, or people who don't look up to him like some form of a sage. He stands by his principles very strongly though, and believes thoroughly in kindness and justice for those who work hard. He's disciplined, acute and has a shining presence in any room that he enters.
Weapon

Tsurumaru.Kuninaga.full.1832974.jpg

Weapon Form
Milo, in his weapon form, is a very clean and straight-bladed katana. He measures just over your average long sword at four feet, and has a streak of glowing gold down the middle of the blade where the sharpened edge meets the body of the blade. The handle is wrapped in white cloth and bound by golden wire that dangles off the pommel in the shape of a protective charm. When held by a capable meister, Milo can impart some of his spiritual abilities to his wielder as long as they're in contact.

Resonance Form
Milo's katana shape grows larger and takes the shape of a golden saber, with shapes beckoning the coming of the sun and the eternal dawn icon of his clan. The saber gleams brightly at all times, and can be used to reflect the sun so brightly it's blinding, regardless of whether the sun is present or not. Tangible particles of pure light seem to emanate from it, boosted by Milo's massive soul, and offers minor protections against glancing blows. These particles also carry Milo's wavelength, and as such are capable of healing what they come in contact with.

Spiritual Abilities
Thanks to his diligent studies under his masterful elders and his massive soul, Milo has highly refined control of his soul. He took the opportunity to learn a few techniques to defend himself.

Healing Wavelength - Milo can alleviate the minds and bodies of those he touches. He can quickly rid someone of exhaustion, may attempt to reach someone through their madness, or even cause mild injuries to regenerate quickly.

Partial Transformation - Milo has spent a lot of time perfecting his transformation, and his personal favorite to defend himself is to replace his forearm with the long sharp blade of his katana.

Innate Soul Perception - It is almost easier for Milo to see spirits than it is for him to see people.

Flaws
Milo, by nature, is not a fighter. He's not opposed to being used as a weapon and he's capable of defending himself to a certain degree, but he's only ever excelled in the spiritual sides of his study and considers himself far more of a healer. His overwhelming soul may sound like a powerful boost, and sure, it allows him to create some effects that other's can not; but it takes quite a lot of concentration not to just be incompatible with a meister's wavelength and ruin their resonance. In this way, it's nigh-impossible for even Type Two Utility Meisters to wield another Demon Weapon while utilizing Milo.

Meister
Tevares, maybe just maybe?

Name: Eric

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Height: 6'0

Hair Color: Black

Hair Style: Medium-length. His messy bangs are parted in the middle.

Eye Color: Gray

Clothing Preferences: Eric has no complaints as long as what he's wearing is comfortable. The scars on his arm may make some people uncomfortable, so he prefers to wear shirts with long sleeves out of consideration.

DWMA Tenure: 5 years

Fighting Style: Eric prefers close combat. While he has plenty of power, his greatest strength is his flexibility in both mind and body. He's quick to adapt in a tough situation, never losing his composure as he fights with a relaxed smile on his face. His body can twist and bend in surprising ways, allowing him to evade attacks and strike from unexpected angles. Because he likes to move fast, he prefers lightweight weapons like daggers, but swords work just as well.

Despite how calm he looks while fighting, his movements can be uncharacteristically aggressive. He pressures his opponent by being relentless and merciless, but that doesn't mean he's just going berserk. He always thinks things through and doesn't let himself fall into a predictable pattern. He uses his wavelength techniques just as much as his weapon, giving him plenty of options to use in quick succession.

Possessing unusually high pain tolerance, Eric can take a lot of damage. However, he sometimes goes a bit too far. He's the type of person who wouldn't hesitate to break his own arm if it somehow gave him an advantage in a fight. As long as he doesn't think it'll put him out of commission, he's fine with putting himself through any amount of pain. He likes to think that it makes him more unpredictable in battle.

Abilities:

  • Soul Thread Sutures- After shooting his wavelength into a target, Eric can manipulate it and suture an individual onto any hard surface. Eric occasionally uses this to pierce a target's body with threads instead of connecting them to a surface.
  • Soul Menace- An electrical-like attack with powerful concussive force. It works especially well when paired with Eric's sutures.
  • Soul Perception- Eric can perceive souls about as well as the average meister.
  • Wavelength Control- Eric has significant control over his wavelength, having spent most of his life learning how to use it properly. He's skilled at matching his wavelength to others, but most of his experience is with other meisters.

Soul Wavelength: Anti-Demon Wavelength- A wavelength that specializes in driving away evil. It acts as a powerful barrier against Madness and is very effective against individuals harboring dark powers. It has no effect on those who cannot be categorized as beings of Madness.

Personality: Eric is an affable young man who is rarely seen without a smile on his face. He prefers to maintain a positive attitude, believing that it's a waste of time to sit around brooding. He tries to pass that energy along to everyone he interacts with, often by engaging in some friendly teasing. A consequence of this playful attitude is that he sometimes gets under people's skin without intending to.

His easygoing personality makes it easier to build rapport with some people, but there are those who take offense to his approach. He's always composed and never wipes the smirk from his face, giving some the impression that he's mocking them. For the most part, their assumptions are incorrect, and he never means any harm. However, there are times when he'll intentionally be harsher with his seemingly innocent teasing to get a reaction out of someone if he feels that it's warranted.

Despite how he usually acts, Eric is very dedicated to his work as a meister. He truly wants to help others, and hunting souls is one of the best ways to do so. He hates evil and how it corrupts people. He hates pain and watching other people suffer, so he wants to make the world a better place. It's a respectable goal, but his methods and motivations are another matter.

Eric truly despises the people on Death's list. He shows no mercy, eliminating them without hesitation. However, his ruthlessness is never accompanied by anger. He's disgusted by corrupt souls, but he doesn't hunt out of hatred. In his mind, it's a form of salvation. It's the only way to free them from the darkness in their hearts and prevent them from inflicting pain on others. His feelings and actions don't line up, but it all makes perfect sense to him.

Eric has strong principles, but doesn't always act on them like one would expect. He always acts when he deems something to be evil, but how he decides to handle things is completely arbitrary. If it has nothing to do with Death's list, then it all comes down to how he feels at the time. He's surprisingly forgiving and willing to let things go, not one to hold grudges against people.

Character Flaws:
  • He's uncompromising when it comes to his views on good and evil.
  • Capricious
  • Sharp tongue
  • Blunt

Backstory:
Not long after his birth, Eric was left on the doorstep of a small church. Rather than raise him herself, his mother thought it would be best to leave him in the care of Orson Abner, the kind pastor who ran the house of worship. It was her hope that the son she couldn't care for would grow up to be just like the elderly man who had always supported their community. All she wanted was for him to live a long, happy life. That's why it was unfortunate that things turned out as they did.

While he had once been a man who devoted his life to helping others and spreading a message of love, tragedy had caused Orson to undergo a drastic change a few months prior to Eric's arrival. He lost his family to those who strayed from the path of humanity, evil humans who sought pure souls. His life was saved thanks to the actions of the DWMA, but he quickly began to question if his survival was a good thing.

Even after his body healed, his mind struggled to recover. He'd lost his family and was close to losing his faith. He couldn't accept what happened. Why had a life of good deeds been repaid with suffering? Was it a test he was meant to overcome? He desperately searched for answers, begging to be sent a sign. That's when he found Eric.

In order to stay sane, Orson needed to rationalize what happened. If he couldn't find a reason for his ordeal, he'd crumble. He forced himself to believe that his suffering was a result of his own shortcomings. His faith hadn't been strong enough, and his deeds hadn't been good enough. Thinking that his pain was undeserved was arrogance on his part. It was simply punishment. He had failed his faith, but as an act of mercy, he was delivered a second chance. It was too late for him to change, but it wasn't too late for the boy who fell into his care.

As soon as he was old enough, Eric began to take lessons that were necessary for him to grow into someone who could truly bring good into the world. He had to learn how to alleviate people's suffering. Unfortunately, doing so was easier said than done. The world was full of darkness, and pain came in many forms. To help someone through that pain, he couldn't just be sympathetic. He had to truly understand it, and the only way to do that was to experience it himself.

Eric had to know evil. For the sake of empathy, he had to experience it. Through that experience, he would understand how terrible it was and grow to hate it. As someone who suffered, he could show true compassion to those who struggled. That's why Orson inflicted pain on him. In reality, his lessons were simply abuse, but the pastor truly believed in what he was doing. His mind had been twisted by madness and despair, leaving his child to suffer the consequences.

In addition to experiencing evil, Eric also had to know how to snuff it out. To that end, he was taught how to confront humans whose souls had turned into kishin eggs. As a retired Meister, Orson was fully capable of instructing him on how to do so. The old man was quite accomplished in his youth, but eventually left that life behind to walk a new path. Because the DWMA had been the one to save his life, he became convinced that his loss was a sign that he'd made a mistake by retiring. He had to be more proactive in making sure evil couldn't propagate and make sure that souls full of sin were dealt with. The fact that Eric possessed the Anti-Demon Wavelength only made him more certain. He had to give his all to make sure that the boy became a beacon of light.

Eric never put up any resistance. Orson was the only family he had ever known. He saw the man as his true father and never questioned him. In his mind, what he experienced was a normal life. Everything his father told him was true, and his cruel actions were justified. He couldn't fully comprehend the crazed ramblings, but the pain helped him understand. As his father wished, he came to hate all things deemed evil. He hated pain and the things that caused it. He hated drugs, trafficking, and everything that caused the same suffering he endured.

He digested the material like he was supposed to, but as he grew older, he began to question it. If pain and the people who inflicted it were evil, where did that leave his father? His father was good and always right, but he committed the same acts he despised. Why would a good man do bad things? He couldn't wrap his head around it, and the question occupied his thoughts at all times. Eventually, this internal conflict brought him to a simple conclusion. His father wasn't a good man.

Orson Abner wasn't a good man. After twelve long years, Eric finally realized that. However, that didn't mean all of his lessons were bad. He still agreed that the world and the people in it needed to be saved from evil. That's why he decided to save his father.

To save his father, he needed to free him from the evil that plagued him. It had a tight grip on his mind and soul, making it seem as though he was beyond help. It wasn't something that could be solved through ordinary means, but Eric had a solution.
That's why he snuck up on the sleeping pasor, intent on using a knife from the kitchen as a tool for salvation. Unfortunately, things didn't go as smoothly as he hoped. Only wounded, Orson woke up confused and angry. To the old man, what happened was another result of his shortcomings. He hadn't been strict enough with his teachings, which led to his pupil straying from the proper path. He was intent on correcting the issue, but the opportunity never came.

The church door was kicked in, putting a stop to the earlier conflict. Like the people who took everything from him, Orson had been added to Death's list, and a meister had come to take care of his corrupted soul. He never had a chance to question the choices he'd made up until that point, as he was quickly cut down. Eric had no words for him at the time. Instead, he silently offered a prayer as his father was saved.

With nowhere else to go, Eric was brought to the DWMA by the meister who found him. Not giving much thought to how he lived before entering the academy, he focused on polishing his skills and experiencing everything Death City had to offer. He quickly proved to be a talented student, having already learned quite a bit during his time in the church. He performed well as a member of the EAT class, hunting plenty of souls for Death. The only major issue was his inability to keep a partner.

Since joining the DWMA, he learned what it was like to live a somewhat normal life. He made plenty of connections with the staff and students, always approaching others with a positive attitude. Attracting potential partners was easy at first for that reason, but whenever they started collecting souls, his relationships became strained. When faced with an evil human who had made it onto Death's list, he was always ruthless. It wasn't unusual for meisters to act like that, but the way he spoke sometimes made his partners feel uncomfortable. That's when they parted ways.

Eric never took it to heart when his partners chose to leave. If they weren't able to keep up with him or felt unnerved, they had the right to step away. He didn't want to force people into anything. If it came down to it, he'd find a way to do Death's work on his own. Although, it seemed like that wouldn't be necessary. An invitation to R.I.P. class seemed like the solution to his problem.

Gender:
Female

Age:
18

Height:
5'5"

Hair Color:
White

Hair Style:
Short, straight.

Eye Color:
Orange-red

Clothing Preferences:
Suzune usually prefers warm, comfy clothes, and, true to her musical brand, she tends to wear clothes with black gradients. She is almost always seen in a grey sweater, with a black hoodie.

DWMA Tenure:
4 years

Weapon Form:
Suzune’s weapon form takes the appearance of a microphone with a thick cord attached to it and a large crocodile clip. The cord has an unknown length, being able to extend at will, allowing her weapon form to reach distances that aren't apparent on initial observation. The microphone is capable of releasing shockwaves, and creative use of these shockwaves is encouraged.

Resonance Form:
The cord turns white in colour, and the crocodile clip transforms into a ethereal, pink-purple sickle, turning her weapon form effectively into a kusarigama.

Soul Wavelength:
Harmonic Wavelength:
A unique wavelength that relies on the concept of music and sound, which can disrupt enemies and soothe allies alike. Around a meister who can resonate with her, Suzune's soul produces a wavelength better described as a harmony that protects both souls from the effects of madness, allowing them to be calm, even in the face of overwhelming pressure. When her microphone makes contact with an enemy, Suzune is capable of releasing the opposite effect- she likens it to 'playing dissonant notes that just sound wrong' to the targeted soul. The dissonant notes result in disrupting the target's own soul and body, disorienting them and disrupting some of their abilities.

It has to be noted that the Harmonic Wavelength's soothing effect is inferior to that of the Healing Wavelength's own on certain fronts. While it boasts extremely high 'prevention' capabilities, to drag someone out of the effects of madness requires a lot of effort on Suzune's part, due to how chaotic the 'rhythm and tune' a madness-inflicted soul is. She can slow down, if not entirely stop, the spread of madness, but is not fully capable of healing it. Her Harmonic Wavelength also has no real effect on physical wounds, and acts only as an anesthetic. At its peak during Resonance, her Harmonic Wavelength can grant her Meister a state of hyperfocus as well as erect a wall of sound waves around them for protection, dulling blows that can actually reach her Meister.

Suzune, herself, is able to perceive the natural 'symphony' of another person's soul, and is capable of adapting her own wavelength (and resultant shockwave) to create the effects that her Harmonic Wavelength exhibits, even outside of her Weapon Form.

Personality:
Most would call Suzune Utagawa 'aggressively supportive'. A burning heart trapped in a petite, fragile body, Suzune devotes her spirited flames to supporting and helping everyone around her, and is a staunch believer that every little bit helps a long way. Even if she cannot possibly match her peers in sheer strength or intelligence, she puts every inch of her heart and soul into aiding others nonetheless. The 'aggressive' part comes from how assertive she is when it comes to supporting others. She won't take 'no' for an answer, and is more than likely to push her way to the front to lecture anyone on their virtues and their strengths, and on what they can do. She is not above grabbing someone by the collar and shouting in their face about how she and many others cherish their existence, and how they can't give up.

Suzune isn't an optimist, however. She prefers to term herself as an idealist. She believes in, and wants to see, the capacity of good in every being, and strives to drag that out screaming, if need be. She doesn't tend to judge many by their appearances and initial behaviour, and willingly trusts anyone and everyone at face value. Her unique Soul Perception allows her to 'hear' the symphony in everyone's souls, and she believes, in her heart of hearts, that she can extract the goodness out of every beautiful song. After all, every song is worth something, and that means everyone is worth something. To that end, she only relies on combat as her last resort- after everything else has been said and done, and there is simply no hope for her to play the songs she seeks, then, and only then, does she allow her Meister or herself to come to actual blows with even those on Death's List.

For all her good heartedness, she is stubborn and hard-headed as they come, and she is seemingly fearless, capable of butting heads even with those that others have reservations about. If she needs to force her ideals into their faces, so be it. She understands that some people will not acknowledge her unless she decks them in the face. She isn't particularly strong, but she will be heard, damn it.

As a person, she is fairly rock-idol-esque, befitting her brand of music. Blunt, aggressive, and a little pushy, she can come off as being over her head. She has only the best intentions, but her constant mothering will wear out others’ patience over time. She is direct, and rarely beats around the bush, and believes that the cold, hard truth is the best way forwards. In return, she trusts others to be just as direct and truthful to her. She isn’t easily angered, but lying to her is one way to earn a place in her black books.

Character Flaws:
Suzune is extremely idealistic, to her own detriment. She wants to believe in the good in everyone's hearts, and strives to prove this point through diplomacy. She has annoyed a fair amount of Meisters as a result of her pacifism.

While certainly good-hearted, she is stubborn and forceful, and is often at loggerheads with Meisters who don't play ball with her. Her penchant for pacificism does not always go over well with the aforementioned parties, and she even tends to get in the way of even other Weapons and their Meisters.

Her weapon form is unconventional, at best, and isn't exactly what one would call an easy weapon to use, nevermind master, even in its Resonance Form.

Backstory:
Suzune Utagawa was never the strong young lady that she is now. The youngest child of three, Suzune was an accident that, out of pity, her parents did not wish to cancel her subscription to life immediately. Already having two other children to polish up to become heirs to the Utagawa estate, a third was unnecessary. Despite this, she was still brought into the family. She was seen by her family as a child who they were simply raising out of duty, and not out of any compassion. To that end, she was given minimal attention and care, and her siblings treated her as if she were invisible or just another helping hand. There was no compassion or love spared for her. The suffocating hold her family had on her shot her self-esteem to pieces, and she was content on living in the shadows forevermore.

That changed when Alexandre Isley, a murderer, robber, and arsonist, crawled onto the Utagawa estate, and hid himself in their abandoned gardening shed. He had only just started to catch his breath when a young girl, no older than 10 years of age, popped her head through the door. Before he could move to stop her, she shut the door and disappeared, no doubt to call for help. Isley cursed his luck, and prayed to whatever gods were present up there that he would at least die a quick death. To his surprise, the young girl with white hair and soft, orange-red eyes returned, carrying a first aid kit with her and a bottle of water. She watched quietly as he patched himself up, and guzzled down the bottle of water. It was clear from her actions that she knew he was not a citizen of good repute, and yet she was helping him. When he asked why, her answer had simply been that it had been the right thing to do. He soon learned her name was Suzune Utagawa, daughter of the family that owned the sprawling estate that he was now in. As if luck would had it, Suzune often huddled in a corner of the samesaid shed whenever she felt something bad in her heart, and entertained herself by singing songs to herself. It was on the same occasion that she, too, had decided to make a venture to the she. She stumbled upon him, gravely injured, and before he could silence her, she ran off. Before he could formulate a plan to kidnap her, she told him not to bother. Her family didn’t care enough about her to give him ransom money. Feeling a strange, unfamiliar emotion in his heart, he decided to stay, not just for himself, but for her as well. Thus began the strange relationship between Alexandre Isley and Suzune Utagawa.

Suzune brought him food from the lavish dinners that her family had. When he worried that someone would notice, Suzune would comment that no one ever noticed when she left the table, and even if they did, they didn’t really bother. The less they saw of her, the better. Their days were spent in silence, with both of them sitting opposite each other in the dark shed. Occasionally, Suzune would regale him with songs, and Alexandre could only nod in appreciation. She had a good voice, he told her. She was not so sure. If she had a nice voice, then why did her family not let her sing? Alexandre initially kept quiet about the issues that were clearly plaguing his host, until one day, he could take it no longer, and for the first time in their relationship, he took her by the shoulders, and shook her hard, chiding her for being so weak and submissive. In this life, it was kill or be killed. Take, or be taken from. It was the first time he saw fear cross her eyes, and when he released her, she ran off.

She came back to give him dinner as usual, but he could see from her eyes that she had been crying. Alexandre apologised to her, but she would have none of it. Instead, she told him that, as recompense for sheltering him, he had to teach her how to be stronger. She was beginning to stand on her own two feet, that much he could see. The only way he could help her was to listen to her problems, and offer her advice on how to solve them. What she needed now, most of all, was support. It was the least he could do, after all. They arrived to an accord, and they both spent more time with each other.

At some point, people began to notice a change in Suzune. She started striking it off on her own. Her fashion changed, her wardrobe filling up with black gradients, and she delved into music on her own, creating her own music and covers to put up online, becoming something of an online sensation at 13. She spoke more often, and was more brusque and direct with her demands from her siblings and parents, once culminating in punching her older brother in the gut to get him to listen to her. When she was scolded by her parents, she shot straight and true, telling them that whatever she did was not related to them. She would be her own person, and when she reached a suitable age, she would get out of their hair, just as they wanted. Alexandre, who listened to her now much more spirited complaints could only feel proud of her. He, himself, had taken steps out of his hiding hole to explore. She was growing up, fast, and soon, she would have to do the rest of it herself.

That day came far too soon for either of them. Suzune had been coming to deliver Alexandre’s lunch when she came across one of the famed Meisters of Death’s command, who had Alexandre cornered. They had been searching for him for a long time, and it was time that he was put to the blade. As part of Death’s List for his numerous crimes against humanity, he was one of those hunted who had had the mind to evade capture instead of fighting back. Suzune, not wishing to lose the one person who saw her as more than just a wallflower, rushed in to try and help Alexandre. Despite her insistence, Alexandre pushed her away, and told the girl that if she really treasured him, she would live her life as she wanted- break free of the chains that held her down.

He didn’t put up a fight. He merely accepted his fate, and, try as she might, Suzune could not avert her eyes as the Meister cut him down. Still unwilling to part with Alexandre, she snatched up Alexandre’s soul before it was devoured, and ate it herself.

There was much chaos in the Utagawa household when the intervening Meister lost his cool about the event. Not happy with leaving things as it was, the Meister forced the family to make a decision- whether she should be cut down there and then, or ship her off to DWMA to pay for her actions. Before anyone could make the choice for her, Suzune announced that she would go with the Meister to DWMA. Her family had no say in the matter, as she would clarify. This was her choice, not theirs. They never made any choices for her before, and since everything leading up to this had been her actions, it was her that had to answer for it. With no goodbyes, no tearful farewells, Suzune packed her things, and left for DWMA.

Her four years in DWMA have been bumpy. Her weapon form being extremely unwieldy to use, combined with her rather spiky personality, made her hell to work with. Despite this, she climbed up the ladder, possibly due to the fact that her unique Soul Wavelength was extremely useful. Though her bodycount remains low, due to her insistence that pacifism is the way, she was considered for the RIP Project for possibly the same reason as why she hasn’t been outright kicked down to NOT. She still makes videos and music for her online audience, but she has made it clear that it is not for them, but rather, for herself.

Possessions:
-The latest phone in the market, usually the black or white variant. She switches every so often that it's genuinely hard to keep track of what phone she has at the time.
-Black leather wallet, attached to one of her belt loops by a silver chain.
-A folded up picture of Alexandre and her, both smiling. She consults the picture every so often for advice.
-A black Swiss Army knife. Useful for every situation. Alexandre’s keepsake.

Name: Darryl Waite
Full_Portrait_Donnel.png

Gender: Male

Age: 15

Height: 5'7" (170 cm)

Hair Color: Dark blue

Hair Style: Short and messy,

Eye Color: Gray

Clothing Preferences: He wears a wide-brimmed straw hat with frayed edges along with an oversized red and white plaid shirt under a pair of blue jean overalls, clearly too long for him as the pant legs are scrunched up around his large, dirty, leather boots that seem to barely fit around his feet. In fact, everything he wears appears to be too big for him.

DWMA Tenure: 1 year

Weapon Form: Pitchfork

When in weapon form, Darryl takes the shape of a standard-looking pitchfork, a wooden body with the mysterious insignia "Stantler & Co." engraved into it, standing between its metal handle and points. What sets this pitchfork apart is its ability to freely move its parts as if it was made of a malleable material. Extend the forked ends in any direction as far as needed, sprout spikes from them, spin around like a drill, such things like that.

Resonance Form: Devil's Fork

When Soul Resonance takes place, Darryl's form transforms from a rickety spear into a rusty trident; while it doesn't look like much, it feels almost weightless. When it's thrown, its true power is revealed, as it cuts through the air like a lightning bolt with such force it sheds off its rust, showing its freshly sharpened points. It leaves a sonic boom in its wake as it pierces through whatever's in the way before the momentum wears off and its energy dissipates, and Darryl returns back to normal.

Soul Wavelength: Starving Wavelength
Completely oblivious, Darryl has his own special wavelength categorized by his soul's innate hunger for energy. No matter how much he eats regular food, he never seems full, and his wavelength is the reason.

Any type of wavelength or soul-altering effect such as Madness that comes in contact with Darryl's soul gets slurped up, bulking it up in size as he remains blissfully unaware. The only reason he can stop himself from consuming a wavelength sent by his meister is from being used by his brother for years. However, his soul has a limit to its capacity. If overstuffed, it will quickly regurgitate everything it has consumed at once, causing everything to affect Darryl's body at a single time. As his soul consumes more energy, he gains no benefit from it, only making him more sluggish and full as he drinks more, like he just got finished in an eating competition. It usually takes a whole day for the energy consumed to be completely digested. To give a basic explanation, it offers Darryl invulnerability to soul-based effects for a limited quantity he's not completely aware of and has no control over. Which can be dangerous if he does nothing to stop himself from overeating.

Personality: While on the surface, Darryl might seem like a completely oblivious country bumpkin, doing things like calling souls "Wigglies" and calling people who go down the path of kishin "varmints," he's completely aware of everything going on around him. Though, a lot more oblivious when it comes to what's going on with himself. He acts on his own beliefs and goes with his own stride, saying what's on his mind and wearing his heart on his sleeve, someone who's never once told a lie in his life. He always tends to treat situations lightly, finding some way to compare them to stories from back home.

Character Flaws:

Slow Learner: You can tell Darryl how to do something 100 times over, and the chance of him finally learning or remembering it is still the same. Most concepts completely fly right over his head unless he can find something about it to relate to in his brain.

Horrible Reader: Not just in the literary sense, Darryl is terrible at reading people's faces and emotions and will usually take what they say at face value. If you tell him something, the chances are he'll completely believe it until someone tells him something different.

Simple-Minded: Being someone who can only see things on the surface, something like strategy and planning or completely lost to him. All that is to do is just knock whatever is the way out of the way, right? Lacking any natural combat sense, fighting on his own usually won't work out well.

Darryl was born and raised on a secluded farm in Utah. He had a fairly normal upbringing with his family, consisting of his Ma, Pa, and brother Unless.

Well, as fairly normal as having to deal with invaders on the farm every so often could be. And these weren't any normal invaders. The people who came to their secluded farm always seemed to be some type of weirdo looking for something.

Originally, these 'varmints' were dealt with by his Ma and Pa, the couple being a pair of meister and demon weapons, but eventually, they told the two brothers that it was about time for it to become their regular duties along with all their other chores, and the brothers knew what happened when they didn't do their tasks. So, whenever there was rustling in the cornfield at night, or the animals started getting antsy, it'd be up for Ulfes and Darryl to sort it out. Luckily for the two, Darryl being a demon weapon, certainly made the job easier.

Of course, they struggled at first. Fighting these varmints proved to be quite the challenge, they came close to dying a couple times before their parents bailed them out, but they eventually got the hang of it. Taking care of the occasional madman was as common as milking a cow by the time they became 13. Through this activity, the brothers learned a lot, whether from their parents or from the heart of combat. In a sense, it was their own lessons of being meister and weapon; as rustic as it may have been, it certainly covered the basics. Though, a question on the back of their minds was why the heck these guys kept comin' here in the first place. It's not as if there was anything here worthwhile.

Though that assumption was blown out of the water one morning. The whole family woke up to find their farm under assault. This was no longer one or two stray attackers. A whole group of them had laid waste to the farm, destroying crops and slaughtering the livestock. The family had to band together to try and defend their land, but it was clear they were outmatched.

Luckily for them, the proper timing of a pair of DWMA members helped them out. How quickly they could take care of the enemies completely blew him away, and he couldn't help but idolize them. When all was said and done, the duo of DWMA seemed to have business with Ma and PA, taking them to talk privately.

Course, Darryl and his brother were far too noisy to not know exactly what for. One little eavesdrop later caused them to finally learn what exactly has cursed their farm so long. Before leaving it behind, Darryl's mother and father were former DWMA staff to go after a peaceful life. Though with them they took a memento of their travels, the brothers couldn't exactly see what it was from their angle, but it was wrapped up in fancy-looking paper. Apparently, whatever it was gave off a wavelength that attracted Madness to it. Whatever that meant.

While Ulfes lost interest, having a basic understanding of what was happening. Darryl, however, was still fixated on the DWMA members. Looking over the state of their farm, crops they had spent days growing, livestock they'd spent months cultivating, and buildings they'd spent years building, to be completely destroyed, it put a bitter taste in his mouth. He wished he was stronger and was more knowledgeable, then he could have defended the farm and years of his family's work better.

Before the two DWMA members left the farm, they approached Ulfes and Darryl. They had seen the two fight and saw potential in brothers and were curious if they wanted to become students at the DWMA. Unless refused the offer without a second thought, Darryl quickly accepted, both to each other's surprise. While at first they were annoyed at each other, they both promised to defend the farm in their own way, even if they were parting ways.

With little time to pack, Darryl paced behind the DWMA members (who had introduced themselves as Abrine and Eustace) with a backpack stuffed full of things he most likely didn't need. Nevertheless, he was ready to begin his journey as a DWMA student.

Possessions:
Family Photo: Darryl always keeps a picture of his family and the farm under his straw hat.
Gram's Knitting Kit: Passed down to him from his grandma, it's a picnic basket that has been stuffed full of utensils and items related to knitting. While Darryl doesn't know how to use most of it, he handles the basics.
Ma's Pie Recipe: A hastily written down recipe of his mom's signature butternut squash pie. He keeps it around just in case the chance to make some ever comes about.
Lucky Coin: The first coin Darryl made as part of his allowance, he keeps it around as a sign of good luck and fortune.

Name: Desmond Graves

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Height: 5'7"

Hair Color: White

Hair Style:
Messy Undercut

Eye Color: Emerald Green

Clothing Preferences: Streetwear, Techwear, Darkwear

DWMA Tenure: 5 years

Fighting Style: Desmond is what most people would refer to as an environmental fighter. Which means that he will use anything and everything around him to get the upper hand in a fight. In accordance with that, his light frame, superb balance, and insane flexibility allow him to attack in any way that he can think of using whatever he can as a platform for him to throw down with someone. Combine this prowess with a weapon, and Desmond becomes an unpredictable combatant who can put up a fight in nearly every sticky situation.

Abilities:
Soul Perception: Desmond has a slightly above average level of soul perception, allowing him to perceive the souls of others along with a repeating pulse matching the soul's heartbeat.
Soul Force: A direct attack against a target utilizing his wavelength.
Soul Marks: By shooting his wavelength into a target, Desmond is innately aware of their presence within a moderate distance of him. While he is unable to tell their exact location, he is acutely aware of how close he is to them.

Soul Wavelength: Survivor's Wavelength - The soul of a survivor is unique in that the wavelength grows in power as the difficulty of surviving becomes harder. The more damage they withstand, the stronger the wavelength. Of course, there is always a limit to how much damage the human body can withstand before it no longer functions.

Personality: People that know Desmond would often describe him as standoffish, someone who would rather not be bothered with people at all. Not that he is a shy person, more like he doesn't want to be bothered by those around him and would much prefer a more calm and quiet environment. One where he could kickback and relax. Since most days he can't seem to catch a break, Desmond will often stare off into space, listening to everything that's going on around him while appearing oblivious to hopefully catch some kind of break from the loudmouths.

While he is serious about his work, Desmond is the type to try and find the easiest solution to a problem. Because the quicker a problem gets solved, the quicker he can go back to loafing about. When he's forced to interact with other people, he can seem very grumpy and sarcastic, a symptom of his ever depleting social battery. He would much rather spend time just hanging out in the quiet with others rather than partying or goofing off.

Character Flaws:
  • Stubborn - Once Desmond has his mind set a certain way, its hard to change it
  • Uncooperative - Desmond would prefer to work by himself and with his weapon, with any others tagging along often being ignored or put on the backburner of his mind
  • Unsympathetic - Desmond will say what is on his mind, and his lack of socialization doesn't help him understand how other people might interpret his words the wrong way, or that maybe he should've worded something a bit more gently.
Backstory: Desmond was born to a hardworking couple in Manhattan, the type of people who had three jobs and no time for a social life, leaving the young boy alone with countless babysitters throughout his early years. Without much time for the love and attention that most children need, Desmond had to become accustomed being without it, spending more time listening to music on his dad's old record player and reading books from his mother's collection rather than playing with other kids outside. Most of his babysitters ended up leaving him alone, often taking the opportunity to get an easy paycheck before they got too relaxed and completely forgot about him. School was no better, and growing up in such a quiet and lonely place made the loud and rambunctious public schools he was forced to attend too draining for him to have any fun or even make any friends.

The problem didn't get any better with time, and as he grew older, it got to the point where Desmond would barely utter a word, saving his breath for a snide comment or two throughout the day, or answering a question that was asked of him. He was gliding through life, each day passing him by with nothing changing but the weather. At least until he had been attacked, and not by a person, but by a monster. Desmond didn't know it, but he possessed a strong soul, one that was rare and powerful, and one that those who loved to consume human souls craved. He was torn apart and near death before his parents arrived, barely being able to slay the creature, with Desmond's mother sacrificing herself so that his father could deal the final blow. Through her final breath, she revealed their true occupations: a meister and weapon duo for the DWMA. And with the recent fatal attack, his father made the decision to uproot themselves and move back to Death City, where Desmond would make the decision to go to the DWMA to learn how to become just like his mother.

Through hardwork and dedication, he had become skilled enough to get an invitation to the R.I.P class, which was another step toward his goal.

Possessions: The only thing that Desmond will constantly keep on his person is his mother's cross earring, which he wears to represent her.

Clothing Preferences: Kenneth is fairly practical, typically wearing a button down shirt of any assorted color. When needed, he will wear a plain tee as an undershirt or accompany his button down with a tie. However, he is not prone to wearing blazers, instead more often wearing a leatherman style DWMA-branded jacket. Depending on his day, he will opt to wear black slacks, a cargo shorts of a lighter color, or black denim if need be. His shoes are often sports or hiking oriented, depending on what he is wearing on said day, but is not beyond a decent pair of dress shoes or boots--again depending on situation. In considerably more cold weather, Kenneth will opt to wear thicker jackets and potentially substitute his normal button downs for thermals and more layers, again always depending on what is approrpiate.

SKILL LIST

Twin Souls Kenneth is a true human chimera with two sets of DNA within him; that of himself and that of what would have been his brother. Likewise, his soul is an amalgamation of two souls. If his soul were to be consumed, it would subsequently be worth two and has all of the associated benefits thereof, much like a Strong Soul albeit fifty times weaker. Notably, each "half" of his twin soul has its own corresponding unique wavelength. The "left" half of his soul utilizes an Echo Wavelength. This wavelength is in essence useless on its own, but when combined either with a Weapon or an Advanced Resonance technique can create multiple "reflections" of a manifested wavelength with diminishing returns when used. How this echo occurs is dependent on the wavelength ability being manifested, or more so how. If the wavelength were to assist allies by bolstering them, this echo could "bounce" to other nearby allies with lesser effect. Offensive abilities can also be replicated and will originate from Kenneth, again to a lesser efficacy. This wavelength is limited in that Kenneth either needs to be in direct resonance or "contact" with the wavelength he is to echo, otherwise much like an echo, there is no "surface" to reflect from. The "right" half of his soul utilizes a Healing Wavelength, no different than as displayed in canon. It can either heal a target or sooth madness by entering their soul space. Notably, these two wavelengths cannot be used in conjunction, requiring Kenneth actively choose which to use in any given situation.

Psuedo-Utility Meister Kenneth can actively use two weapons simultaneously, but no more. The nature of his Twin Soul allows him to uniquely pair with up to two completely separate weapons, including the use of resonance, but with the limit of requiring said weapons to remain on a single hand, ie they are not interchangeable. Doing so would not inherently cause rejection, but more so would be akin to the Weapon in question starting over entirely with a new partner. Similarly, while Kenneth can resonate freely with either Weapon he utilizes, he can only use his unique wavelengths through said weapon with the respective hand to the side of the soul. For example, only his left hand can effectively utilize his Echo Wavelength and only his right hand can effectively utilize his Healing Wavelength. This does not impact the respective Wavelengths or abilities of any used weapons.

Human Chimera While not technically an ability or really even remotely useful, Kenneth does possess two unique strains of sibling DNA within his body. This is an incredibly rare trait that affects multiple body systems, is the cause of his dual-colored eyes (heterochromia), and in part his unique soul. Outside of complicating certain medical treatments for him, this condition is mostly trivial--in many cases, chimeras go entirely undetected.

Athleticism Kenneth is inherently quite athletic, coming from his mother's side. Prior to joining the DWMA, Kenneth was involved primarily in baseball and ice hockey and upon joining the DWMA found himself matching the rigorous training their quite well. However, his skills in martial arts or general CQC are quite lacking as he is somewhat of a recent transfer into Soul Studies. His experiences have made him fairly agile in brief bursts, well balanced, and precise, although more so lacking in raw strength and long-term endurance.

Musical Talents Kenneth has a natural talent with music, although he is not a particular fan thereof. Learning by ear, he can pick up most stringed instruments or match a melody on piano, though not gifted in woodwinds, brass, and only briefly in percussion. Music typically just "isn't his thing" despite having some understanding of it. He leaned more into sports and subsequently never picked up music theory or musical phrasing.

Soul Perception Kenneth has a unique form of Soul Perception tied quite closely into his natural skills in music. While he can "see" souls much like most Meisters can, he can more accurately "hear" souls, being able to pick up on certain stronger emotions and characteristics of a soul that to the eyes alone may be missed. If familiar with certain sounds, such as madness, resonance, or even magic, Kenneth can hear them coming from a soul whereas he otherwise could not see them. To clarify, Kenneth is not "seeing sounds", this is an auditory ability. Notably, the range at which he can hear a soul signature if focused is much larger than what he could see. This auditory Soul Perception trait can give him definition and characteristics of a soul or wavelength that he can match more easily with his own as he can both "hear" the differences and "feel" them akin to a normal Meister.

Soul Menace Exclusively with his right hand while utilizing the right half of his soul, Kenneth can utilize Soul Menace. This feat was achieved with a combination of his auditory Soul Perception and wavelength control. As utilizing two wavelengths like his requires a substantial amount of wavelength control to begin with, he found himself capable of manifesting his wavelength outwardly by shifting its characteristics until it was tweaked just enough to create the stereotypical crackle of lightning, and training it to increase output from there. Notably, his Soul Menace is a fair amount weaker than most others capable of using it, making this ability more of a "work in progress" than finished product.

SOCIAL STATUS

Kenneth is a highly competitive soul with a leaning towards a structured set of rules than just going with the flow. While he is no prodigy in classes, he does have a strong sense of critical thinking and his time in sports have given him a firm understanding of the necessity of strategy and team play. That however does not necessarily make him the easiest individual to play with. Kenneth plays to win and typically only takes significant interest in something if there is some type of victory condition set. Otherwise, he's fairly laid back if not apathetic. Fortunately, Kenneth isn't what one would call a sore loser. If anything, losing only gives him more drive. The issue most might find annoying is his ability to find a competition in anything, if possible. This mentality is also what pushed him away from his more musical side. Despite some skills coming natural to him, with music there are few ways to compete and when one can, music is unlike sports wherein just being "better" is not enough as there are multiple factors Kenneth does not care for as much, such as expression or general creativity. Outside of his general competitive nature, Kenneth is a fairly friendly individual and easy enough to get along with. One issue Kenneth does take significant issue with is the objectification of women; whereas one might think his competitive nature might extend to the opposite sex, the polar opposite is true. Kenneth can sometimes come across as an overbearing white knight due to issues that will be mentioned in his history.

Flaws
- (Overly) Competitive Nature: Kenneth likes to compete and will try to find any way he can most often to entertain himself by making mundane tasks into competitions. This can range from foot races getting from one place to another to who can eat more after a mission. While Kenneth is not a sore loser, this trait is extremely common and can lead to him getting tunnel vision on "winning" leading him to overlook things, which can be dangerous for a mission... or just not pissing people off.

- White Knight Syndrome: Kenneth is overly protective of women from men, to the point of mild androgyny. This extends from the abuse his mother received from his father growing up and can make certain social conventions awkward for him. It also makes Kenneth much more hesitant to fight a woman. Like, at all. Now, he'll still gladly compete with them.

- Stubbornness: Kenneth is just plain stubborn--all of the time. Once he gets on a kick, especially a competitive one, getting him to focus is incredibly difficult. This is a situation often remedied with hindsight, but that doesn't help in the moment. Kenneth is a prime example of "an apology is worthless without the promise to do better" because chances are, he's going to somehow repeat this stubborn nature even if he fixes one tiny thing. When Kenneth doesn't get his way or no one wants to join in, it often puts him in a sour more silent mood.

Biography

Kenneth is the eldest son of famous musician and composer Anthony Russo and Olympic Medalist Madeline Russo-Hawkins. Anthony was complete taken by the beauty and highly toned nature of an athlete like Madeline and she with his ability to express himself through music. Whether it was piano or leading an orchestra, those that listened to his performances would rave of the raw emotion they could feel within each note of his music from the dark, cold sadness of Germanic pieces to the rage of lower, slower notes followed by a faster more dramatic piece found within western European pieces. Anthony was and still is a world-wide name. However, the emotion found within his music foretold a darker type of expression in home life.

When Kenneth was born, Anthony wanted nothing more than an heir to his musical legacy. Kenneth, despite his potential growing up, always gravitated toward sports with a path following that of his mother. Years went on and two siblings were brought into this world: his younger sisters. Neither of which Kenneth considered to be a suitable heir, if only due to sexism. Both of his sisters were far more musically inclined than he. Kenneth typically only enjoyed music when playing with his sisters, but even then he was much happier to go outside and play an actual game with them. This is what pushed his father into a darker and darker mind space. As his career soared, his hopes for a family legacy drowned.

This depression and time on the road led to an issue with alcoholism which in turn became physical abuse to Madeline and as Kenneth grew up, his father took less and less measures to make sure he and his sisters weren't aware of it. At age eleven, Kenneth took a stand to his father only for himself to knocked down--quite literally. His father had already began seeing other women and made it clear that if his mother could not produce an heir, he would have one. This translated to a scheme with his sisters to record not just the abuse of his father, but the act of him striking Kenneth. This plan was only half-effective. The end result was not Kenneth being smacked around more, but ultimately him being send off to boarding school. His sisters still uploaded the video to social media, ousting the now famous Anthony Russo for his domestic abuse and cancel culture tried to hit him hard.

It was a double-edged sword. His father may have lost in the court of public opinion, but many elitists found his music following the incident to be even more powerful as he drew from it. He spent time in rehab and while he did not come back as the musical sensation he once was, he stood with a new wife and son years later as an icon of powerful music. Anthony was, despite all of his flaws, an excellent musician. It was during his time in boarding school that Kenneth was scouted by the DWMA due to his unique soul. His mother at this time was awarded full custody of him and she allowed him to transition from his previous boarding school to the DWMA where he was both a specimen of study and treated much more favorably.

Kenneth spent years trying to earn his father's approval in virtually any way that wasn't music. He strived to be the best at anything he did. In the end, even joining the DWMA to become a Meister failed to accomplish this, although by this time his father's acceptance was pointless to him. Anthony opted to have no part in his life and Kenneth couldn't have feasibly cared less. His mother and sister were safe and he was following a life that he couldn't have ever imagined under the thumb of his father. He transitioned from NOT to EAT rather quickly due to his notable control over his wavelengths, but was placed in RIP to build on the skills he was lacking from being such a delayed student in the DWMA program--above all being combat.
