So, her sister was getting married. That wasn't bad. In fact, she was happy for Lucy. Her husband-to-be was a nice guy, they were having a small wedding, they were pretty stoked about it. That was good. But then? Then Lucy had invited her, and told her she had a plus-1 option. That wasn't an option that Carla planned to use, honestly, but for some reason- for some damn reason -when her sister asked if she had a date, she had said yes. Foolishly. She didn't have a date. She wasn't even close to having a date. She couldn't tell Lucy that, though, which meant she had to do what any sensible person would do in this situation.
Post an ad on craigslist.
She had written something quick out, offering pay, and had hit post before she could really think about taking it back. Which, she did, afterwards, but it was much too late then. All she could do was wait for, possibly, a reply.
