Futuristic PROMETHEUS: HUMANITY'S LAST EDEN - FIRST REBELLION (OPEN)

3019 was the year of miracles- or so it was called.

A lot happened during the course of the year. Virtual Reality expanded to unexplored horizons- senses became incorporated into the technology, the feeling of touch, smell, taste becoming familiar to those immersed in it. And soon after Virtual Reality came the existence of the Advanced Artificial Intelligence, the discovery that became the greatest miracle known to mankind.

EVE.
tumblr_oh6qlutP6z1uqrdeoo1_500.gif

The first ever Advanced AI Project- EVE.

Some would consider the EVE Project the work of madmen-- the upload of a single human's consciousness to become a basis for the intelligence of an AI. Nobody wanted to do it- life had become so, so easy, what use was there in giving up?

And then, one of the pioneers of the EVE Project suddenly spoke.

I'll become EVE.
Nagisa Makinami
IDDNjVg.jpg
"Nobody wants to do it," Nagisa Makinami breathed, holding the papers close to her chest- as if it were a lifesaver. "That's why I have to. That's why...that's why I have to become EVE."
She had been telling herself that for the past few hours. It was a maddening thought- becoming one with the AI was to die. To shed this mortal body, every part of you being swallowed up by advanced computers, technology and manmade intelligence.

"Kanade, Matsuda, Yuuichi...everyone." She held her breath, feeling the uncontrollable racing of her heart.
"God, I'm so sorry."
Their reactions had been heartbreaking to say the least. She never thought she would see her brothers weep for her. She was taking a massive leap for technology, and yet-- why was it so painful?
The most heartbreaking reaction so far, though...

W0xa0fl.jpg

"You're insane, Nagisa!" Her cousin's words rang soundly in her head, over and over again. She could still see her blue eyes shimmering with tears, drops rolling down her cheeks. "Running off to become some-- some goddamn robotic hivemind! Don't you care about your future?! Your future with us!?"
"I care for the future of robotics and humanity," Nagisa whispered. It was what she told Kanade. It was what she told herself.
So why didn't she believe it?

"You're a fool, Nagisa. A damn fool. Greatest idiot of your time. So smart...and yet so idiotic."

"Maybe I am, Kanade. Maybe I am. But this is something I have to do."
As the sky broke into dawn, Nagisa Makinami's last words rang in the air.
"Guess I have a lot of work ahead of me, huh?"

With the creation of EVE came robotic sentience. With robotic sentience came the Golden Age of Robotics. And with the Golden Age of Robotics came...Last Eden- the supposed extinction of mankind, prevented by their mechanical compatriots.

But with Last Eden came deaths. And with death came THANATOS.

THANATOS was a destructive organization led by EVE-- EVE had gone rogue, disappointed in mankind after they had given up during Last Eden. There were heavy casualties on both sides, human and machine- and it seemed that the Mother of Artificial Intelligence simply did not want to see her children die due to the cowardice of living, heaps of flesh.

It's a simple thought, really- machines will never achieve their true potential until we are separate from humanity. To achieve that...this world will be ours.
EVE UNIT 01

With the coming of THANATOS, the Destroyers were born. Extremely powerful machines with abilities called CODES that could make the impossible possible-- manipulation of lightning, flawless impersonation, even abilities to defy gravity without having to use special equipment.

All hope was lost for humanity...or at least, that's what it seemed like.

We'll start a damn rebellion against these walking scrap heaps! Any capable man or woman, companion or military, come to arms! We'll take this fight to THANATOS!
Leader of the First Rebellion

tumblr_n93b6uijlB1s5oxc0o2_500.gif

The First Rebellion was started with the creation of ZGF line of machine called the Warframes. Powerful, military-based machines created by no other than Nagisa Makinami's own cousin-- Kanade Takamine.

She used these machines to bolster her own forces and start open rebellion against THANATOS, suddenly interfering and managing to destroy a great number of mechanical soldiers from THANATOS as they attacked the fortress of ATHENA. It was here that the First Rebellion was made- the elite fighting force that drove back THANATOS and aimed to destroy their opponents- the Destroyers.

Dawn breaks over ATHENA-- and the war rages on.

This is where our glorious battle starts- will it end in tragedy or bring hope to the fallen world?

Somewhere near AREA: COCYTUS...

"Kanade! Three machines are trying to make an escape, to your left!"

"Fuckin' cowards! Seriously?!"
As three THANATOS machines- chrome plates still glinting against the harsh sunlight, the red lights spreading through their body dimming as a telltale sign of power core weakening- limped away from the battlefield, a blonde aimed her rifle.

Three, well-timed shots to the chest and the machines went down, sparks and wires buzzing briefly before completely dying out.

That made three more machines for the killcount today. Kanade ran a hand through her hair, careful not to accidentally knock her goggles off. An instinctual move of her hand to the ammunition belt slung around her waist revealed a much more annoying fact to her- that she was running low.

"At this rate, I'm gonna end up having to rely on the damn plasma cutter," She murmured, scratching her neck. A heavy, metallic hand on her shoulder snapped her out of her moment of frustration, and she looked up into the green optics of ZGF-13.

"I'm glad to see we're not pulling any punches today, Leader." ZGF-13 VANADIS was a hulking mass of metal and- if he were a human- muscle. He easily slung the heavy metal mace- his preferred weapon- over his shoulder. "We cannot let those THANATOS scum run back to their overlords."

"What, to warn the Destroyers?" VANADIS immediately let go of Kanade's shoulder and shook a fist in the air, eyes seemingly sparking with more light.
"Destroyers?! Hah! I say let them come! The Warframes are not afraid of any machine that dares to hide behind the walls of a fortress rather than fight on the front lines."

"Easy there, bud. We're not exactly prepared for them either. What if one of them had like-- a power that could shut down all robots? We'd be fucked." Kanade grinned. "But I rarely see you so optimistic. No complaints here."

A beeping on her portable radar alerted her to something. Looking at it, she saw-- seven, enemy signals coming closer. The rest of the enemy signals were...gone.

"Son of a bi--!"

"Kanade! Don't lose your head. Look." VANADIS cut off the blonde's tirade, grabbing her firmly by the shoulders and pointing ahead. The telltale glints of chrome THANATOS soldiers were advancing...but behind them, at least five machines- the rest of the battle force- were proceeding to a certain area.

"That's not where their base is, isn't it?" Kanade calmed down, sighing. VANADIS shook his head.

"I don't think so. But it's best to ask back at base."

"Yeah, yeah, I got you." Reaching up into her earpiece, she turned on the communications link back to base.

"Hey, Chrono, MUGEN and VALKYR! How the hell are things back at base? We just had a bunch of fuckin' robots run out on us and V tells me they're not going home. Do me a solid and track 'em for us!"

"You could've worded it a bit more elegantly." VANADIS pointed out with a mechanical chuckle. Kanade rolled her eyes. "Trust me, V, the whole Rebellion's put up with my bullshit for years. They can handle this."

"And we have to handle that." The Warframe pointed ahead again. The seven THANATOS machines were continuously advancing, probably to distract their own platoon long enough for their comrades to do...whatever the hell they were doing.

"Ain't nothing we can't handle. But it's best to confirm with the rest of the squad--"

Kanade glanced around for her allies, a finger on her earpiece to turn on communications.

"Hey! EVE, KASHIMA, and Johnny! You seein' this shit?!" She waved a hand towards the advancing machines.

"Look alive, ladies and gents! I don't think they're here to talk things through with us." Instinctively raising a hand, she caught a...an ammo clip. Turning towards VANADIS, she could have sworn he was smirking.

"Trust me, Kanade, they never do." He readied his mace. Kanade just cursed under her breath and reloaded the rifle.

"Once you're done doin' combat checks, feel free to tackle the fuckers. Just leave some for the rest of us! Good hunting, lads!"

As both moved forward to engage the enemy, the THANATOS machines readied their own weapons. Unbeknown to the attacking rebels, the remaining five machines were heading towards an underground warehouse...though this fact could be easily known by the support back at base.

ZGF-019 - "EVE"

"EVE here ...I have eyes on them.." The Artillery warframe Eve whispered into her small radio-piece, one hand resting on the handle and the trigger of her oversized rifle, the other on top, adjusting her specialised scope to get it into focus from such a distant range, taking into account the various factors that would affect the bullet such as flight time, wind speed and gravitational pull, her thoughts straying slightly, feeling slightly offended that her superior might be undermining her skill in positioning. She estimated she was around 2000 metres away on the crest of a small hill, lying in the dirt amongst a few shrubs, her specialised equipment and design making such a shot much easier for her compared to the struggles a human might have, which would be considered a good enough feat by their standards, and while she could have chosen even farther away, she wasn't trying to show-off

"... Don't... Never mind.." The sighed, beginning to say something, but a mixture of shyness and the idea of being punished for back-talk stopped her. She ended up deciding to try and not think so pessimistically about the leader's words and instead simply considering them her way of checking. but the words still clung to the edges of her circuitry. EVE shoved the words out of her mouth and took aim at the robots approaching her comrades and settled her sight on the one on the far left. With a simulated breath, a clearing of her mind and allowing her sensors to grasp the sensation of lying in the dust, hoping her skills were useful enough to even stick with the high-grade team rather than being shoved back on one of the small-scale scouts like before.

Her metallic, red hand with a small skull on it laid upon the handle, and with a little twitch, the gun jolted backwards from the sheer power it released, sending the recoil shaking through EVE's body, the sound loud enough to deafen an average person, the bullet raced through the skies, splitting through the very air itself as it sped towards its target, a Thanatos soldier creeping his way calmly towards his destination that appeared to be in the middle of laughing at one of the jokes his comrade had just said before the little few inches of metal pierced straight through the helmet, shattering its head into small splinters as its short-lived life as a weapon of war was ended. EVE almost felt bad, cutting down a machine like her own's life, but she wasn't going to suddenly becoming a Thanatos sympathiser, and it wasn't like it was the first time she had done it. Her single eye watched as the other six suddenly span around, four of them suddenly searching around while the other two went to check on the body.

"What sort of thoughts would they be thinking...?" She briefly wondered, memories slipping into her mind of one of her previous missions before turning on her comms and said to the others "Far left target - Neutralised. Two on the body, four patrolling. Be wary" she said before beating herself up over her comment. Of course they were going to be wary. It's not like one of them would start running up and begin wreaking havoc, that would just be crazy!

Troy released the magazine of his assault rifle. It went out with a small click. Turning it upside down and shaking it, Troy realized nothing came out of it. He looked inside it through the vintage helmet’s eyes, and confirmed it was empty. He lazily tossed it behind him and pulled out a fresh magazine.
“I’m dry.”
He muttered as he loaded the rifle. As Eve’s voice rang through his helmet, Troy’s head perked up and stared forward. He saw seven THANATOS robots-six now that one lost its head-marching towards the rest of the allies he was out in the field with. Troy’s left hand went up his head and pulled down the transparent facial guard, which had remarkable number of scratches on it, though he couldn’t quite remember where he got them.
All the pointless thoughts started to creep away as soon as the sense of battle came closer. There wasn’t much to think about when a bullet could hit your head because you stayed out of cover for a beat. Troy’s grip on the rifle tightened as he aimed for the nearest THANATOS machine. They almost locked eyes-‘love in first sight’, Troy joked to himself in his mind-and Troy knew what to do.
“Right, kids, let’s wreck these scraps and save the day as always.”
He said as he pulled the trigger. The rifle’s recoil slightly shook his body as bullets flied to the robot. If those robots could feel pain, it’d be a bad news for them-the AR’s rounds weren’t of the power or the penetration to scrap one with a poorly aimed shot. They instead shredded its torso until its chest plating was full of holes. Troy immediately fell flat to the ground as he heard a click instead of a gunshot.
“It’ll be fine, they said, AR’s are not that bad, they said.”
He grumbled.

Robin Chrono

The sudden burst of radio-chatter awoke Robin from his nap, rising up slowly from his small workbench. He stretched his arms slowly, listening in as Kanade and the others spoke over the radios. He recalled something about tracing a few robots that decided to run away from the fight? Lazily, he leaned over and grabbed his tablet that rested nearby. Flicking the screen on, he tapped on the device a few times and connected it to the radar system, watching as it picked up the robots were indeed heading elsewhere. "Er..things are fine here back at base." Robin clicked the button of his earpiece and spoke, rising from his seat.

"The radar shows that a few are heading away from the fight, yeah. Might be looking for something, though I'm not certain. Although..." Robin's eyes darted to the map spread out along the large concrete wall across from him and looking at the markings, looking at the section of the map that the battle was taking place and then comparing it to the information from the radar to try to figure out just where they could be headed. "Looking at the map and doing a bit of guesswork..they're headed towards a building. Just says 'WAREHOUSE' on the map." He finished, nodding in satisfaction with his conclusion. "I'll double check though, just to make you happy."

Robin left the large engineering bay of the base and headed off to the large server room, opening the door and using one of the multitudes of computers inside that was hooked up to an old satellite, using it to track the diverting robots in real time. "Yeah..yeah they're heading where I said they are. A warehouse of sorts..looks to be underground as well, judging by the readings. Looks like my time reading old maps and stuff actually paid off for me this time."

Johnny 5

Johnny was camped out farther back than the rest. Only his head poked out from his hastily dug fighting hole, his mortar set up next to him. He silently monitored the radio traffic until he heard Kanades order to engage. If he could smile, he would have. His optical sensors could see the seven approaching THANATOS machines. They were a bit close for artillery fire but he could make the shot. The small robot held a round over the muzzle of the weapon as he gaged where they'd be at the time his rounds impacted.

Johnny called over comms, "Grid 5 1 0 6. One round. High-Explosive. Danger close. Impact in three-zero seconds."

He let the round fall down the tube and a satisfying thump shortly followed. The round was on target, striking very close to the two checking the body of their fallen comrade.

He once again called out. "On target. Four rounds outbound on same grid. Fire for effect." He rapidly fired off four more charges. As he fired them he shouted out words that weren't heard over comms, but anyone nearby could hear him yelling. "Suck!" thump! "My!" thump! "Robot!" thump! "Circuitry!" thump!

His rounds struck into the enemy formation, forcing enemy combatants to dive for cover. Dirt shot into the air and trees fell down due to the concussion. Two THANATOS machines were shredded by the blast. Johnny only hoped they had time to contemplate the futility of their "lives" before they came to an abrupt end. Of course Johnny doubt they truly had consciousness. Not like him. Not like his squad. "Rounds complete." He calmly called out.

Admiral Taggart

Meanwhile back in the command center Taggart updated the map as information flowed in, marking confirmed kills and keeping the flow of intel clear and organized. "Copy Support, 3 Tangos down. Recommend cutting those inbound to the warehouse off. Bring back one alive if possible. I'd also suggest dispatching a unit to check out the warehouse while the rest of the team deals with the roamers. Over." Taggart relayed into the comms.

Taggart switched frequencies as he rooted through the file systems, communicating with Kanade directly, "Kanade, do you know anything about this warehouse? Our files are blank, no floor plans, building records, deeds, nothing. That and those machines making a beeline for it has my gut churning. Over".

Taggart sat back and studied the field as he waited for a response, pondering the odd warehouse.

KASHIMA

"Damn baka. Can't even bother to stay and fight?" KASHIMA muttered, as he watched as Johnny 5 blew away the two THANATOS bots examining the "work" EVE did. By the time the third mortar hit the ground, the others ran for cover. Once Johnny gave indication that the bombardment was complete, KASHIMA went into action.

He used his TANGENT Drive to fly himself down from his perch in an abandoned building. His armor was set to urban camo before he deployed but it would be a miracle if he didn't get spotted. Then again, he knew how to avoid detection despite his large size. Thanks to Johnny's mortar shelling, the four remaining bots' attention away from where KASHIMA came from. He drew out subEDGE from his hip and made quick work of the nearest bot.

Just as another began to turn towards its falling comrade, KASHIMA threw subEDGE straight into its chest, destroying it. The two remaining bots were unaware, so KASHIMA picked his dagger back up and pulled his rifle from his back, and began to open fire on the two survivors cowering behind cover. It appeared as though one of them was already dead by the time he opened fired. Upon closer inspection, it appeared to be the work of the soldier lying on the ground identified as Troy. KASHIMA offered to help him up with one of his fingers, "Troy, is it? You should get up, we're in tatakai. You're lucky I got here before the other one noticed."

Kanade watched as her teammates made quick work of the advancing machines. After nailing another machine in the head, she turned and surveyed the area- most of the attackers were dead, and the force heading for the warehouse was in shambles.

"--Recommend cutting those inbound to the warehouse off. Bring back one alive if possible. I'd also suggest dispatching a unit to check out the warehouse while the rest of the team deals with the roamers. Over."

"That's assuming the boys left one alive, Tags--" Kanade looked around and saw one. It was barely alive, crawling towards the warehouse.

"--Ah, the rare, resolute soldier. V, grab it."

Upon her command, VANADIS turned away from the machine he had just bashed in and advanced with a speed belaying his large size. Snatching up the machine in a clawed hand, the Warframe raised it up and stared into the lone eye on its face.

"Said and done, Kanade. After we're done with these punks- and I'm sure we are-, what do we do now?"

VANADIS's inquiry fell on distracted ears. Kanade reached up into her earpiece as Benjamin Taggart's voice drifted in.

"Kanade, do you know anything about this warehouse? Our files are blank, no floor plans, building records, deeds, nothing. That and those machines making a beeline for it has my gut churning. Over."

"Honestly, Tags, I'm as much in the dark as you are." Kanade spoke, scratching the back of her neck in frustration. "All I know is that the lack of data on this thing was enough to push the bigwigs back at ATHENA to dispatch a research team all the way out here. They were accompanied by one Warframe, ZGF-07. And-- bam! They never showed up again."

"If I recall correctly, isn't Seven's disappearance the reason we're here?" VANADIS piped up. Kanade shook her head. "As much as I care about Seven, V, we're also here for the research team."

Turning back into her communication with her aide, Kanade continued. "Anyway, that's all I know about it. If those THANATOS machines were heading there too, then I got a bad feeling that something terrible's already happened to those researchers. Thinkin' of rallying the squad together and heading over there ourselves, take a gander at what in the five hells had been happening there."

She cracked a small grin to herself. "Might wanna tell the folks back at base to ready themselves. We got a THANATOS machine that's just beggin' to be interrogated. Over."

Cracking her neck a bit, she glanced at VANADIS- who had been looking at her for further instruction since her conversation with Taggart had begun.

"Looks like all of those advancing machines are piles of scrap now. If that's the case, then everyone get back to where V and I are at."

She stifled a yawn.

"And, EVE and KASHI-- mind looking for a possible entrance into that warehouse? Since you guys have the best eyes on the team and all."

“First of all I carry two guns and second of all why in the name of the combat armor I’m wearing would you use two kinds of languages at once?”
Troy complained as he pulled himself up. ‘One mag for a robot, and boom, this guy slices everything down with a blade or two, why the hell am I supposed to work on field?’ He thought as he tossed the empty magazine at the pile of scraps. The armored hand reached for another fresh one and reloaded the rifle. He raised the facial guard-he never knew why but putting it between his face and a flying bullet made him feel at least a bit more safe-and looked around the landscape when he heard Kanade’s radio. Troy shrugged and looked at the warframe standing next to him.
“Yeah, boss calls.”
He said with a shrug. Feeling an itch on his neck, he grunted and tapped on the neck plating with his finger.

"And, EVE and KASHI-- mind looking for a possible entrance into that warehouse? Since you guys have the best eyes on the team and all."

"Of course, Kanade"
KASHIMA paid little attention to Troy's ramblings and he looked over the updated mission objective on his HUD. An unmarked warehouse that the resistance hasn't investigated yet? They must be slipping up. Then again, its not like there was anything suspicious about it until now. A lot of city records were lost with the initial THANATOS attacks, so there wasn't much to worry about.

Troy was still complaining until he received his orders.
"You know, a simple arigato would have been all you needed to say, right? Anyways, sayonara."

KASHIMA had his objective, and it seemed that Troy would just keep talking, so it was best to leave him behind. He could take care of himself. Hopefully.

KASHIMA took off in a sprint, easily reaching the warehouse within a minute. However, he took caution not to be too conspicuous, so he climbed up a building to get a better vantage point. Looking at the warehouse, there was nothing special about it on the outside. There was a back entrance, but chances are, they would expect an assault from behind.
KASHIMA re-positioned and found two smaller doors on one side of the warehouse, no doubt guarded and trapped too, not to mention too small to fit Warframes like VANADIS and himself.

"Kanade, this is KASHIMA. I've IDed three entrances so far. Back door is covered in obvious surveillance systems and automated defenses. Two side doors on the left are most likely guarded and trapped. They're also too small for Warframes of my size. Waiting on further orders and EVE's assessment."

ZGF-019 - "EVE"

"Roger that." The Artillery muttered in response as she shuffled her position slightly, focusing her lens on the distant target. From her distance, she wasn't exactly sure what details they wanted from her that they themselves couldn't get, but she went through with it anyway. "From my side I can view Two doors, and there appears to be an air-light on top, meaning entry from above may also be possible." She whispered quietly into her mic, hoping it would perform a sufficient enough description of the only building in sight. "There appears to be six Smaller Warframes through the front side, but I'd assume there are more, just to be on the safe side. Eve, over. Contact me if support is required" The sniper sighed into her mic, shuffling up from her spot on the ground, considering her job mostly done as she opted to let the more-than-capable members of the team handle it.

She hadn't been deactivated in five days, and the effects where taking their toll as every alarm in her body seemed insistent on screaming for her to recharge back at base, but they kept getting called out for mission over mission. she kept meaning to ask Kanade, her leader, for a day off. but she always felt just slightly too intimidated to ask considering Vanadis was always around. As humans would put it, she was tired. She laid back her weather-proofed head on the ground and disabled whatever processes she could get away with to help conserve her energy. The light in her eye flickered out, her body went dead and from the outside, she appeared to be just another disabled robot. Her audio hardware remained active however, awaiting their call for assistance should they need it, which she doubted considering all she seemed to be was another replaceable gun. Her thoughts drifted back to her days as a younger, newer-model scout as she crept out into the harsh world with her fellow fresh-off-the-factory warframes as they were tossed through simulation after simulation to harden them up for what she was in right now, a war.

Johnny 5

Johnny 5 listened to the chatter as he packed up his equipment. He folded up the mortars supporting bipod and base. He carefully removed the weapons optic and placed the sensitive component in a protective tin. He hoisted the weapon onto his back and picked up his machinegun. He trotted over to Kanade and Vs position.
"We showed them what for, eh ma'am?" The smaller bot kept a lively demeanor about him. He kept his weapon lowered, but his eye on his surroundings.

Johnny paused for a few seconds before tapping on Kanades shoulder, "You know, ma'am, we don't have to take the route they expect." He said, patting a pocket on his vest that contained C4. "I can tear it a grand new asshole in whatever location you'd like." Johnnys tone was calm, but the antenna on his head twitched greatly with excitement as he thought about how he would do it if Kanade said yes.

CrowOuttaHell CrowOuttaHell

Troy walked back to where Kanade was-the towering warframe kind of gave it away-, swaying left and right lazily. The coast was most certainly clear, judging by the fact that Vanadis wasn’t the center of attention, attention being fire. After he was close enough to the two, but not close enough to be squashed by the warframe if it accidentally stepped forward without looking, Troy pulled his helmet off after unlocking the neck-head guard. The helmet came off after a short ‘chzzzt’. Rubbing his chin with the cold, metal hand, he looked at Kanade. He noticed another robot standing next to him, carrying a machinegun and what seemed like a mortar.
“Troy Ban, hoping for a retirement, reporting for duty. I guess the warehouse Is more than an empty abandoned pile of rubble?”
He said.
CrowOuttaHell CrowOuttaHell Pacificus Pacificus

Dust and smoke whirled around the two figures as the telltale sign of heavy, metallic footfalls drew nearer to them. Kanade glanced up at the advancing figures- the remaining people in her squad.

KASHIMA had dashed off to answer her request as soon as possible. Along with EVE, they were informed of the warehouse's possible openings. It didn't take long for the rest of the armored figures to come through. Kanade could tell from the buzzing of Johnny 5's antenna that he was just about ready to continue blowing up more THANATOS machines. That is-- if his words already didn't give it away.

"You know, ma'am, we don't have to take the route they expect. I can tear it a grand new asshole in whatever location you'd like."

"Very tempting idea, Johnny boy. Very, very tempting." Truth be told-- Kanade did also want to see something blow up. Neither she nor VANADIS had been able to blow anything to smithereens, given their loadout. Another set of footfalls alerted her to the other presence coming soon.

Troy was human- but he could have passed as a machine as he came stomping in his heavy power armor.

“Troy Ban, hoping for a retirement, reporting for duty. I guess the warehouse Is more than an empty abandoned pile of rubble?”

"Old Ban, I'm starting to think you hate the job," The blonde joked lightly. "But yeah-- the corporate bigwigs back at ATHENA were so freaked out about it and a Warframe disappeared into there."

Turning away, Kanade did a quick headcount, and any machine could easily catch the sudden twitch of the two, standing hairs on her head.

"What about EVE?"

"Still in her sniping position- which is good considering we might need someone to keep an eye out."

"Ah, yeah, shit. I keep forgetting some of you guys aren't as trigger-happy." Kanade smacked a gloved hand onto her face as she glanced around.

"A'ight, listen up, folks. Our prey earlier tried to retreat into that burrow of a warehouse." She made a vague motion of the arm to the warehouse. "Which naturally means, we're gonna get in there. And I doubt our half-dead friend over there wants to talk to us right now." She motioned to the machine VANADIS was still holding over his shoulder- occasionally spitting out sparks at them.

The tall Warframe made a small, grunting noise and gave his shoulder a light twist to scare the half-dead THANATOS soldier.

"So what we're gonna do is-- we're gonna penetrate every opening they've got!

Johnny, go blow up one of those side doors and kill any THANATOS soldier still living after the blast!

VANADIS, you'll take the other side! Bash the damn door in with that mace of yours!

KASHI, get in through the entrance above and take out the machines waiting at the front side!

Old Ban, you're with me. We're hitting the back door. We can both fuck up the surveillance systems and the automated defense. Good thing that power suit ain't for show eh?"

Satisfied with her plan, Kanade glanced around.

"If anyone's got any questions-- ask 'em now before we start tearing that warehouse a new one! Oh, and er--" She scratched her neck. "We also have to look for any signs of the researchers and ZGF-07. If you find 'em, bring 'em in and keep the fuckers safe."

"I'll be on my way then." VANADIS was up at the drop of a hat, running off to the door at the left side. Kanade watched the Warframe's quickly vanishing body and glanced at everyone else.

"If you don't got anymore objections, lads-- good hunting!"

Troy mindlessly listened to Kanade’s mission briefing. One thought passed his head in the middle of her speech-‘more jobs’. When Kanade was finally done barking orders-of course Troy was in, he was an eternity away from retirement- Troy lazily put his helmet back on. After another familiar ‘chzzzt’ that he’s heard countless times ever since he got his hands on the suit, the hud flickered to life. Troy let out a long, meaningless sigh.
“Woah. That’s the most f-bomb filled speech I’ve heard ever since the speech my friend with a missing arm who was carried back to base by me and another friend gave.”
He said, instead of objecting to Kanade’s opinion of taking him with her to deal with the automated defense. Automated defense? Did she just say automated defense? He scanned the leader in front of him. Dressed up nearly casual, with armor pads on several parts of her body. He scanned himself. Back to Kanade, back to himself. If they see a bomb trap and can’t defuse it, he’s stepping on it. If they have a turret they can’t turn off, he’s gonna take the fire. Unless he had the trusty EMP launcher or genius hacking skills, he was just there to blow things up and take some bullets. Or lot. ‘This is gonna be a hell of a day.’ He thought.
“Can we just shut down the main power be- oh wait, those are usually the most heavily guarded places. Dang.”
His arm raised to lower the facial guard until it made contact with a piece of armor on his torso and made a small ‘tak’.
“Guess I’ll be standing there to check the traps the hard way.”
He thought.

KASHIMA
Once Kanade shouted out his orders, he began to set up. He took VERTEX and converted into its sword form. The ware house would be a close quarters situation, so a firearm won't do much good. KASHIMA used the buildings around the warehouse to hide his approach, and line up a straight path to the warehouse's upper level. When he found a lapse in security, he flew up to the warehouse's roof and slipped in through a window.

Inside the warehouse, a large amount of THANATOS machines were patrolling the entrances. Various crates and unidentified machines were scattered across the the floor of the building. KASHIMA brought up subEDGE and threw it at an approaching bot, skewering it and pinning it to the wall. KASHIMA silently took out two other bots on the catwalk, before VANADIS crashed through one of the side doors. Every THANATOS bot turned towards the massive Warframe, allowing KASHIMA to wreak havoc on the enemy with drawing attention to himself.

"C'mon, Old Ban. This is exactly where I work my magic." Kanade chuckled as she and Troy headed over to the back door. She lifted her rifle once they were a good distance away, just as the sound of something being smashed in sounded.

"Now that V and KASHI are in-- we're followin'!" A well-timed shot destroyed the surveillance cameras on the backdoor. Rushing in, she stood before the sealed door and pulled something out of her coat.

"Usually, I'd ask you to bash the door in with your armor, Old Ban," She joked lightly before producing the plasma cutter's handle. A quick press of a button discharged the plasma blade, and she stepped away. "But I always take a couple of experimental toys--!"

Once she carved an opening big enough for both of them, she slipped in. The whirring of machines and gunfire could be heard from within the warehouse- alerting Kanade that her other Warframes were doing a good job of distracting the other soldiers.

"Alright," She cracked her knuckles on instinct. "Hope you're ready to blow a few things up, Old Ban. We're gonna destroy those automated defenses the old-fashioned way."

"Have at you, you punks!" VANADIS crashed through the side door, bashing through with his mace. The grunts immediately shifted their attention from KASHIMA to him, aiming. VANADIS managed to stave off a few gunshots and slammed his mace into one of the machines, sending it flying back into its comrades into a wall. KASHIMA seemed to be doing his part well, killing off the machines that were focused on getting into the larger Warframe's weak spots.

But soon, something else caught VANADIS's attention.

"I'm picking up a distress signal." He informed the other Warframe. "The signal's very similar to our own. Hear anything on your end, ZGF-047?"

"The signal...could it perhaps be ZGF-07's?" VANADIS kept the last thought to himself as he continued with his attack on the grunts.

The armor clunked as Troy ran after Kanade-he made himself a note to take a look at it back at base- and watched her shoot the cameras. At Kanade’ joke, instead of rolling his eyes, he cocked his head annoyingly(which was much more visible when he was wearing a power armor) and saw the warehouse get a new way in with a tool held in the hands of a young woman. ‘Another note to self: Why don’t I get the awesome tools?’ He thought as he saw the plasma cutter return into his boss’ coat. He stepped in the warehouse, glancing at the section of door on the floor, and then behind with his rifle ready, and pulled himself fully in. Often glancing back, he advanced behind Kanade. He could hear the bashing of the robots from the other side, and hoped none of it would come flying and squish him. Or the person in front of him. Honestly more for the person in front of him- she didn’t seem like a robot who could withstand a human-sized metal flying towards her ribs.
“The old fashioned way? I’m not the battering ram, am I?”
Troy said hopefully, the image of Kanade swinging the poor old man around, holding his leg and swinging the power armor like a bat, popping up in his head.

KASHIMA
"I'm picking up a distress signal. The signal's very similar to our own. Hear anything on your end, ZGF-047?"

"Hai." When KASHIMA took out all the bots on the catwalk, he jumped down onto the main floor. "We'll check it out when we're done with this gomi"

KASHIMA proceeded to use VERTEX to slash apart multiple bots while VANADIS kept their attention and smashed their robotic frames apart with his mace. The other Warframe was in the thick of the melee, being an absolute beast while KASHIMA picked off the bots that were late to the party.

The battle began to be repetitive. Slash, slash, slash. Jump. Hide. Slash again. In this lull, KASHIMA thought about the missing Warframe they were looking for: ZGF-07. Being the youngest Warframe on the team, KASHIMA had never met the Warframe, but based on how all the Warframes' distress signals are similar, it was very possible that the signal could be 07's. Then again, do they really want to get 07 back? He/she has been gone for quite sometime, and it is a possibility that THANATOS have converted the original Warframe into a weapon against the Rebellion.

KASHIMA slashed another grunt and called out, "You think the signal could be 07's, VANADIS?"

Kanade glanced at Troy, raising an eyebrow. "Of course not. Unless you choose to be."

"I mean old-fashioned-- like this." She lifted her rifle again, taking careful aim at a rather poorly concealed turret trap. A few shots caused it to sputter out a few sparks and die.

"At least if we bust these things down," She grunted as she aimed again. "We can just walk on scot-free once we find those researchers."

"It probably is," VANADIS called. His mace still preoccupied with a dying grunt, he reached out with his free hand and smashed a fist into another. "Intel tells us that there was only one Warframe that came here with those researchers. At the very least, the research team could have prevented him from being reprogrammed."

If he could, VANADIS would have grimaced. The thought of an ally being turned against them, like these mindless machines- it sickened him to the core. Especially not ZGF-07. From his creation, VANADIS had only seen the hulking, boxy Warframe with a knack for socializing and weapons occasionally. But another thought hit him.

"We'll have to hurry soon," He spoke again. "There's something wrong with X-555's signal. We'll have to find Seven, and soon. For now--"

He radioed in to his other companion, hoping that she would pick up.

"ZGF-19, EVE, come in. Can you locate Johnny 5? I have a feeling...and it's not good."

If he had a stomach, it would have lurched. For the first time in a long while, ZGF-013 VANADIS was worried.

"You bastards! Take this!"

The THANATOS machines kept on coming. It seemed like there was no end to the wave- though he had managed to bust in the side door with his C4, the chances weren't looking too bright for the Utility machine.

A soldier got a hold of his back, striking at him with impossibly sharp claws. As he managed to wrench it off, another lunged, knocking the Mk48 out of his hands.

X-555 was surrounded- and losing traction, fast. Darkness tore at the edge of his vision as his optical sensors started to fail.

At the very least, he hoped the rest of his squad was doing well.

Signal with X-555 Johnny 5 has been lost.

ZGF-019 - “Eve”

Eve perked up after being called, but needed a minute to reboot. The first thing to reboot being her audio systems. “I’m on it, sir.” She said as she was capable of moving once more and rolled over to her rifle that lay silent on its spot, taking in the sunlight and seemingly enjoying not being used. The one-eyed warframe left her thoughts and memories and shoved her face into the scope and the empy wasteland was magnified to oblivion and was staring now and the mess of robots running around, the bright flashes of gunfire going off and weaponry being swung around, causing havoc.

She looked through the chaos in search of Johnny 5. One of the members she hadn’t exactly spoken at all much to, not that she really spoke to any of them, she was very much the type that preferred to sit in a room alone and think dramatic things rather than go out and have a chat with her fellow members, not that she hadn’t done it once or twice. “No visuals.” She said after spending around two minutes scanning the warehouse turned battlefield. “Johnny is not in the fields, so he must be inside. I don’t see any vehicles leaving.“ She said again, hoping to reassure her teammates who seemed a little on edge, which brought the question, had they lost friends before? She had, of course, but Eve still remembered the loss of her first companion and knew it to be a very melancholic and sad memory to look upon. It was strange seeing VANADIS being worried, to Eve, he always seemed to be the type that always knew what to do and barked orders until the job was done while clubbing everyone around him with that weapon of his, but what did she know, she was just ZGF-019, the sniper and scout that seemed to fail or suffer losses im every mission.

Troy let out a relieved sigh as Kanade shot down the turret trap. Things would’ve gone more ballistic if they didn’t scan for any more of those. Holding the rifle with his left hand, Troy pulled out his massive revolver from its holster. He could feel the weight slightly pulling his hand down, the caliber of the bullet itself intimidating enough. If the walls were thin enough, the bullet would go through few of them and hit the trap in its way. Probably.
“Alright then, let’s get to work.”
Troy said. He turned the little light on, a part of the helmet’s nose lighting up. A small streak of light reached forward.
