Fantasy Project TMN

housekat

The flow of time is always cruel
About 2 years ago, a large facility simply vanished off the map for unknown reasons. But why? The building used to be an experimental facility to carry out a large-scale experiment called Project T.M.N, or tame mother nature. They tested all different kinds of orphans from places all around the world to see if they qualified to come for this "orphanage for the gifted". 160 children went in to the orphanage, but only 6 came out. These 6 children watched all of their friends be killed off slowly and endured the pain that came along with gaining elemental powers. Overall though, the experiment was a success. You can, using barbaric methods, successfully find a host that is strong enough to have such powers. Fast- forward 2 years after the fall of the facility, the 6 survivors have teamed up to take down the main sponsor of the program: someone named Larry Stein, or better known as the boss of Steinwell, a large and famous company. There are two problems here for these teens to overcome: A)They are on the West coast, and Larry lives on the East coast of the U.S. and B) Even if they have elemental powers, it will be very difficult to get into the company.

Iona Cross

Iona rubbed her eyes and rose from her tattered sleeping bag that they had taken from some unsuspecting campers. In fact, every thing they had was either stolen or bought with the little money they could gather by working odd jobs like walking dogs, mowing lawns, weeding, etc. Of course, the jobs went a lot faster when they used their powers. Each one of them had different powers that they had gained because of events in their past that weren't talked about. It was an unspoken rule between them to not bring up the unwanted memories and pain that came with it. Iona shook her head to clear her head of the cluttering thoughts and stood to examine her surroundings. The first light of dawn was just starting to cast shadows on their headquarters, which was just a collection of sleeping bags gathered around a small campfire. It was surrounded by a wall of bushes that protected them from any unwanted visitors. Iona sat on the ground and started to tend to the fire, and waited for the others to start waking up.

Chelsey woke up, and stretched. "Ahhh... Feel that wind!" She exclaimed enthusiastically, closing her eyes and letting it flow around her. She then noticed Iona, but stayed quiet. Looking around, she saw that almost everyone was still snoozing. "So, Iona," She said casually, facing the girl at the fire again. "Whats our next plan?" Though she didn't really care, there was something there that made her feel like she needed to help. As long as she didn't have too much responsibility. That would be a plus for her. She got up and walked over to the fire. She looked over at Iona curiously, wanting some kind of response.

Dustyn slowly opened his eyes and yawned. He sat up and stretched out his arms, sighing. Reaching down in his tattered sleeping bag he produced his sketch book and started drawing on a random page. He payed no mind to Iona and Chelsey as he drew.

Amora's eyes fluttered open, met with green, she flicked her wrist, releasing herself from the cocoon of heat from her plant made sleeping bag, she yawned as she crawled out of it.

"Morning Iona, Chelsey, " she stretched slightly and huddled closer to the fire, but not too close, hhe wasn't so fond on it. Closing her eyes, she willed the bushes around them to grow closer together for extra security.

"Do we need seeds? Or anything, fruit veg for breakfast of course," Amora had been growing food daily for them and meat was rare, not like she ate it anyway. Amora looked at Dustyn.

"Good morning, Dustyn,"

Mei woke up in a tree where she liked to sleep because of all the creatures that live in the trees, at night and in the morning. She got out of her sleeping bag and started to climb higher untill she reached the top where she looked out over the world, mentally mapping everything around her whilst also naming a few birds and on rare occasion a few hurrying bats.

Chelsey looked over at Amora, and smiled softly. "Morning. I would like some carrots, if at all possible." She asked simply, looking off towards the sky afterwards. "I... kinda wanna... do something." She stated longingly. "Hm. Well, when everyone wakes up, should we be off?" She asks when snapping back to reality, to no one in particular.

Amora nodded at the eldest member of their little group, as she did so, she stood up and shook everyone else awake. "Morning sleepyheads," she said to them each in turn before answering Chelsey. "That would best, and carrots of course,"

Amora was about to wake Mei up when she was goee foom he place in the tree. "Come down Mei," Amora said with a smile as she proceeded to get the leaf to tap Mei on the shoulder.

Sitting down, Amora closed her eyes and breathed deeply, thinking of carrots and every aspect about them, leaves appeared around her and she lifted them up. "Here," Amora carried over enough carrots and passed them to Chelsey.

Mei was slightly startled by a tap on the shoulder by a leaf, which was an obvious beckon towards the ground. She had safely made it to the ground not a minute later. "good morning everyone." she said casually as she got her sleeping bag from the tree.Today she supposed may be an ordinary day if all goes well.

Chelsey smiled and took the carrots. "Thanks! These are my favorite..." She says, taking a bite. Then she looks over at Mei, swallows, and waves. "Good morning!" She exclaimed, a little happier now that she had some food in her. She took another bite, swallowed then faced Amora. "These are some of the best I've had!" She told her enthusiastically.

Iona didn't respond to any of the good mornings said to her, only continued to tend to the now blazing fire. Some unwarranted memories started surfacing and the light haired girl started to feel blazing heat on her hands... The glaze over her eyes seemed to dissipate when a carrot was handed to her. Her stomach was churning in nausea, so she put the carrot in her old backpack for later. This morning the fire seemed comfortable, but now it made her feel sick and dizzy. In an act of impulsiveness, she drops dirt onto the fire and stamps it out. Not waiting to see how the others feel about it, she stuffs her sleeping bag into her backpack and with an annoyed tone, states "Let's go."

Chelsey looked over at her confused. But she just shrugs it off and silently goes to her sleeping bag to pack up. As she packs some supplies into her pack, she sighs. "So, were are we off to now?" She asks Iona, trying to make some kind of conversation to get her mind moving again. She shoulders the bag on, and stands.

Iona looked over to Chelsey. "
Theres a park not far from here where we can stay for a few nights. It'll be impossible to cross the Sierra Nevadas at this rate. We won't have enough supplies." She paused for a minute going over a plan in her head. "We need to gather supplies before we head out." Her gaze followed a runner who was on a jog. They were in Bakersfield at the moments and needed to get across the mountains so they could get into Nevada.

Amora gave a small smile to Chelsey before passing a carrot to everyone else. Oh more travelling, such joys. She carrie on before turning to her plant cocoon and watching it shrivel up and back into the ground. Taking a smlll swig from a bottle of water she had stolen, Amora sighed.

"Nevada it is,"

Chelsey nodded in understanding. "Got it." She looked to the sky and moved her hand a bit. The wind swirled around a tree, playing with the branches. She swirled it around, then blew it through her own hair. She breathed, and sighed happily.

Jace walked back to where the group was sleeping. Or at least, they might be sleeping. Since it was the morning now, they were probably awake. So he made his way over to the group again and was surprised when he saw that all of them were up and moving. He had a bit of explanation to do now. He approached them with his usual non-smiling face. "Hey, guys. Sorry I wasn't there in the early morning. Had to go work a bit to get a bit more money." Though he had done so with care.

Chelsey nodded towards him, smiling. "I was wondering." She simply stated, still allowing to wind to ravage through her hair. After a moment, she adjusted her bag and stopped the wind. "Sorry, its just nice to get a breeze in your face every so often." She explained, smiling. "Anyway, shall we be off?" She asked, looking around. She took another bite of her carrot, but still looked around expectantly.
