Episode 9: Echoes of Loss!

The machines constant, stead, beeps used to annoy Vivian when she first arrived. Every beep was like nails on chalkboard, her skull threatening to split in half, but it was likely nothing more then the pain and extreme exhaustion settling in. Over the course of several days, the constant beeping of the machine had fallen into the background, white noise to her brain as it left her and Wolf, who refused to leave her side encase there was an attempt on her life, to put the pieces of their life together. The thing they had been helping had been a mad eater of worlds hellbent on consuming all, she should have seen that one coming a mile away, but in truth, she probably just didn't want to. She had found something she had never had but always wanted, a family. A place to belong. A place to be needed. Vivian had been willing to overlook much, curtail her own intellect and curiosity if it meant preserving that fragile paradise she had. But now? Now it was gone. The manor was left in rubble, the creature was seal back from whence it came and Simon... Simon was gone. The pain and sorrow were not all that was in her heart, a small knot had started to form, a knot of rage. He did it. Violet's 'friend'. He had unleashed the creature, he had killed countless people all over the globe, he had taken away her family. The why did not matter. She needed something. Anything. To hold onto. To keep pushing on and revenge.. Revenge worked nicely. She would find him, and he would suffer. His magic stripped from him, locked in the darkness, alone, for eternity. No light. No sound. No hope. He would dwell in the same place Simon now was. Vivian raised her heavily bandaged hands, hands that had been torn to shreds a few days ago by the mirrors and tried to close them, the pain flared in her forearms. If Violet and her power rangers would not do it, then Vivian would do it.

"Vivian, Simon's parents are here," Wolf said as he shut his phone. The large wolf's upper chest was bandaged, a small hole had been punched into his lung during his battle, but as a monster, wolf had great durability and regeneration, it was already almost healed. Vivian was a bit envious of that.

"O-Okay," Vivian said as she closed her eyes, "Let them in."

She had prepared for this. Vivian had spent the last night mulling over what to say, how to say it, and she had come up with an answer. What she would say was flawless, well thoughtout, it would convey her sorrow for their loss, explain what happened without telling too much, it would...

The Halloway's stepped into her room, Mr. Halloway looked distant, remote, while Mrs. Halloway looked.. broken. Her luscious hair had almost seemed to fade, her skin was pale, her eyes misty. They looked to Vivian and waited.

They knew.

In their hearts, they knew Simon was gone. Killed in the attack like so many others. Vivian opened her mouth to say what she practiced, but the words didn't come out. That was so odd. She had it all planned out, she.. "I'm sorry," she said, her voice raw and ragged as it tore out of her throat.

The world became hazy as tears welled up in her eyes and began to spill out down her cheeks, her mind gave up trying to say what she planned as hiccups bubbled out of her chest as she dry heaved, "I'm so sorry."

Mrs. Halloway rushed over and wrapped Vivian in her arms, lost in pain, and for the first time in.. a long time, a warm embrace, Vivian tried to clutch onto Mrs. Halloway with her broken hands as she screamed into her chest.

Episode 10: Assault on The Front


Tokyo was in far better shape than many other places in the world. Over the world, Hundreds of millions of people were dead, killed by the strange shadow beasts created by that Lord of Shadows, that demonic being of darkness.

It was gone now, but the death and destruction that was left in its wake was still around, eating away at the very hearts and minds of the people. Many had lost someone during this attack.

But now, Tokyo was being rebuilt thanks in no small part to the efforts of the TDF and the Rangers. It would bring much needed joy to the people in this dark and dangerous time. But at least a powerful evil had been dispatched, even if it was at great cost.

But now, now was the time to launch another attack, one that had been a long time coming. One that now afforded them a better and greater deal of information with the data gathered from the head of The Jack.

Simultaneous actions were committed on this day. Wyrm Squad launched an attack on the Pachinko Parlors. The TDF launched an attack on Protoscape Medical Division and the Factories. And the Shadow Ranger and his squad launched an attack on the Main Base of The Front.

Digital Front

The Singularity has been born. The Savant has finally shed the last of his mortal frame and now exists fully in the realm of the digital. His new Avatar allowing him to pull of great feats of destruction and wield the Full Might of the Digital Front.

His next options before him would allow him to follow his goals and open up the path to world domination.

The Dimensional Gateway research was a success. They now have the full plans to build a dimensional gateway based on all the data that they have collected. Now all that is left is to build the gateway and collect a viable power source for such an endeavor.

But before they could begin to initiate such a plan, the inevitable attack had occurred at almost every single location belonging to the Digital Front. Only the other location was not discovered. The Rangers and the TDF would not win. Even if they somehow destroyed this base, the Digital Front would not be eliminated. It is too strong.

Episode 10: What Was Lost

Grace was exhausted. There was no other way to put it. SHe had dealt with battle after battle after battle. With nary a rest in between. Her only “rest” involved more fighting in a dream world. Connor had put her through hell. But she still wanted to save him. Even after all the death and destruction that he had caused.

He had caused the deaths of hundreds of millions of people. There was no doubt about that. The world was still recovering and there were many places and people that might never recover.

But she needed to find him. It would not be easy at all, but she had to try. Using her new found magic skills, she managed to open up a viewing port to the Realm of Dreams. But she only saw The Lake and no Connor.

Gary and Veruca managed to support the city and its people in its time of need. Gain +10 Popular Opinion.

Vivian and Wolf

It was not easy to move on. But the Duo of Wolf and Vivian would have to find a way. Even the way of thinking, a Duo and not a Trio was painful in its own way, the wounds still so fresh, even after their own actual physical wounds healed. The emotional ones would stay for a long time.

They had lost a friend. And one that had left very little behind, other than those that had cared for him.

Vivian and Wolf manage to find a place, a small apartment that the pair could afford with their current funds. They even found that they still seemed to have access to the same Villain channels that they had access to before.

A strange thing given that Abyssos was gone, but they were not bothered in that place.

Vivian’s Research bore fruit. She managed to invent a pair of technological vests that gave a huge resistance to Magical energies when worn. In some cases, it might cancel it out entirely!

Episode 10: Rising from the Depths

Hundreds of Millions of people dead, but for Nic, it was much more personal. With the power of a Ranger, he had been able to save many people and the city itself, but he had been unable to save his own family.

It was personal. The THING that had caused it was dead and gone. But from the others, the one that unleashed the THING that had done it was still out there, unpunished.

Perhaps he could find them. But helping others and finding the last Symbol was of utmost importance.

His search for it came up with a similar looking artifact sitting in a nearby museum. It shouldn’t be too hard to get for a Ranger Team that had helped save the world from utter destruction.

The other Rangers were helping with Search and Rescue, chipping in what they could. Clearing debris, giving medical attention and the like. They helped recover many people as with their protection and The Black Hand, they had been able to safeguard much of the city. Especially compared with other places in the world. +10% Popular Opinion.
