Ryan's a healthy 11 years old with long brown hair. He has brown eyes and looks like combination of his mother and father (Father's eyes with mother's nose, as well as a combo of other things). He weights about 85 lbs and stands at 4' 7". He usually wears jeans along with a hoodie when not in uniform along with sneakers.

Ryan also have some scars running across his body, though nothing deforming or hard to look at. They're mostly souvenirs from his adventures with Uncle Jeremy and consisted of stuff like falling off a mountain bike, getting cuts and scraps from obstacle courses and rope cuts from learning how to rock climb and such.
Ryan's a pretty friendly guy, at least in terms of the average. He likes to go out and play and still thinks recess combined with the jungle gym is the greatest thing ever. He's more than willing to meet new people, though they might be turned off by his direct style of speech. He's learning quickly though and hopes to have a blast at Hogwarts.

Ryan has a tough time relating to people who focuses a lot on academics, or as he called them "joy killers." He's flexible enough to obey rules most of the time, though if it came to having an adventure instead he'll always pick that option, not really thinking ahead about the consequences or the danger that would come with that choice. Still his luck's held up so far, so Ryan hasn't quite learned his lesson just yet.

Likes: Ryan is pretty contradictory. He likes outdoor activities, such as hunting soccer and baseball, but doesn't mind sitting down every once in a while with books since his parents were both bookworms. His favorite color's actually dark blue, so he hopes to get into Ravenclaw, but honestly he doesn't mind any of the houses. Ryan was just happy to have received an acceptance letter from Hogwarts. He got his outdoor preference from his uncle, who served in the Royal Army and often takes Ryan on adventures.

Dislikes: Ryan doesn't like to wait, and skirting around things, which he also got from his uncle's all business military attitude. He also dislikes ferrets, which came from a bad experience when one surprised him while on a hunting trip with his uncle. He also does not have any love for science and math, which in his words, "stupidly makes him prove things that don't need to be proven to anyone with a pair of working eyes."

Strengths: Ryan's clever, but he's more of what you might call street smarts than book smarts. He doesn't have a lot of trouble in terms of understanding the academics, but he's far from excelling in his studies due to his impatience with anything he doesn't immediately find interesting. However, if he does find something interesting, he keeps at it with determination until he gets it down. He's also pretty decent at fighting, having gotten into a few scraps back in school and some training from his uncle, and is physically fit.

Weaknesses: Ryan's impatient, as explained before with how he acts when he's not interested in something. He's also direct and blunt, which makes him somewhat tactless and seemingly rude, though this is more of him not realizing the effect he has on other people than him trying to actively offend others. Ryan's also kind of loud, which makes him not a good companion for sneaky adventures, though at least he isn't clumsy like some other people.

Fears: Ryan won't admit it, but his hatred of ferrets derive from an innate fear of them, as explained before by the incident he had while on a hunting trip with his uncle. He's also afraid of failing, especially something he's set his mind on doing. This made Ryan very focused and single minded when he's set his sights on something, and possibly contrasted to his parent's laid back attitude.
Born in a typical home, Ryan met the others when they were in kindergarten, and before long the group of them were friends. Next thing they knew they discovered the world of Harry Potter and all of them had their heads buried in books all the time. He was also the one getting into fights when the other kids made fun of him and his friends for liking the stuff.

Growing up, Ryan's family wasn't wealthy but they got by alright. Since neither of his parents had a steady income, Ryan had gone through periods where there were barely any food on the table to times when he got a playstation for Christmas. Fortunately when his Hogwarts letter arrived the family had saved up some money so he could get new books and uniforms and not buy second handed.

Ryan sometimes wished they had a more steady income but could understand that things could be a lot worse. However his brother, Neil, doesn't get this yet and constantly complains about their living situation, which causes them to fight. While Neil followed in footsteps of their parents, Ryan found more kinship with his Uncle Jeremy, who was in the Royal army and often visits to play with Ryan and teach him things.

One day, Ryan heard a pinging on his window and looked out to find an owl constantly tapping on it. At this point he had almost given up hope of getting his acceptance letter to Hogwarts, so thought this was some sort of weird animal being confused. Words couldn't expressed his happiness when he realized he got into Hogwarts and after asking his parents for the fifteenth time whether this was just a practical joke, he didn't sleep for a whole day after because of how excited he was about it.

Family: Has a mom, a dad (Mr. and Mrs. Kelion): Dad's a writer and mom's an artist. Has one younger brother name Neil.

Secrets: Ryan's somewhat interested in all magics, including the Dark Arts, though he isn't really a fan of Voldemort or the Death Eaters.

Adam stands at a tall 6'3. He is by no accounts lanky but rather quiet muscular, which adds to a macho/badass look. His build and height give him an advantage in the quidditch field as well as hitting a bludger would take a great deal of strength. Adam also has dirty blonde hair that just sits flat on his head, bored. His eyes are very deep and dark, almost black although they can appear lighter in the sun.

Outfit wise Adam enjoys stylish robes but favours muggle clothes overall. His muggle clothes usually consist of dark jeans, any type of t-shirt, usually black, a leather jacket and a pair of battered converse. In robes he would pick a dark cape/long robe and loose fitting short robes.
Adam is a very intelligent and cunning person. His grades are really high although he does not enjoy school too much. He is very sly, cunning and devious. He loves pulling pranks and overall being evil which almost resulted in him being put into Slytherin but his intellect prospered over his cunning. At times Adam can be arrogant, loud and obnoxious like a Gryffindor or a muggle jock but yet again his intellect prospered over his cunning. His loyalty to his friends also shows that he could be put in Hufflepuff but yet again his intellect prospered over his loyalty.

Likes:

Quidditch- When Adam entered second year, the quidditch captain took notice to the stocky lad and asked him what position he played. Adam responded saying goalkeeper but the only free position was beater so the captain took him on as a beater and now at seventh year Adam is the Ravenclaw captain.

Duelling- When Adam came to Hogwarts his teachers all thought was a natural at using magic. Adam then joined the Duelling club and was one of the best there.

Defence Against the Dark arts- Adam has a special hate for the Dark Arts as 'mudblood' was a word that would be directed towards him a lot.

The internet- Before Adam got his letter he was a computer whiz. He loved to scour the internet for funny videos and pictures but when he got his letter he never used the internet again.

Pranks- Adam was always play pranks on classmates and fellow Ravenclaws. He got a good kick out of annoying someone with a masterly planned prank.

Dislikes:

Slytherins- Adam has a real hate for Slytherins as when he was first year he was attacked by to sixth year slytherins. After that Adam hated all of them and they were usually the victims of his pranks.

Divination- Adam thinks seeing into the future is a load of sh*t and that divination is a joke. He really hates how people think they can tell your future as if it's written down on paper or something.

Dark Arts- The Dark Arts are the reason he is called a 'mudblood' and it would make people kill other muggle borns.

Mudblood- He hates how the word 'mudblood' is used to describe a muggle-born. Adam being a muggle-born learned to hate anyone who used that word.

Brussel Motherf*cking Sprouts- First off, who does like them right? Second when Adam was younger he had an incident that made him hate them. His cousin had tried them for the first time and said they made him feel sick. Fast forward an hour and Adam was wrestling on the grass with his cousin, when his cousin puked on him. Adam opened his mouth to say something but before he could his cousin puked yet again only this time in his mouth.

Strengths:

Duelling- Just as it said in his Likes, Adam is a natural at duelling. He learned jinxes and curses really quickly and enjoyed learning them. When he put them to use he was almost the best apart from teachers and older students.

DADA- Adam is top of his class when it comes to Defence against the Dark Arts. He is good at theory as well as practical.

Flying- Adam is brilliant at flying. He is quick and can manoeuvre through any obstacles. No climate will stop him, as well as no player.

Weaknesses:

Time management- Adam is horrible at managing his time. He can turn up really late or really early. He never hands homework in on time, even though it usually get's an A.

Self control- Adam finds it very hard to control his emotions as well as physical movements when he is angry. This results in someone getting hurt and Adam losing a friend.

Correction/Criticism- Adam cannot accept criticism in any form unless it's from a very close friend. Adam counts this as a weakness as he thinks criticism helps even though he can't take it.

Fears:

Spiders- Adam has always had Arachnophobia and no one knows why. Even the smallest of spiders would scare him, the bigger ones may even make him faint/pass out.

Being alone- When Adam was younger he would have these nightmares when he was left alone in the world. The whole planet had rid of any human existence, except for Adam. In these nightmares there was always a dark shadow, not his own, that would follow him. When he was awake he could see it some times. This is why he likes to stay popular, even if they are fake friends, they're the ones that keep the shadow away.
Adam grew up in a muggle family. His parents both had steady jobs, his father a Logistics Planner and his mother a Gardener. Adam was a very smart boy. His parents sent him to a private school but he was kicked out after two months as Adam described the place as "A posh sh*t hole full a prissy gay boys" This coming from a ten year old really disturbed his parents. When he got his Hogwarts letter his parents thought it was him messing with them but it turned out to be true.

Little first year Adam was very mischievous, usually getting into trouble. Although his grades were top of the class, that didn't stop the teachers worrying about him. Now in seventh year Adam has promised to cause as much trouble as possible. Adam plans to become an Auror when he leaves and he is guaranteed to pass all of his NEWTs with full marks.

Adam is also the Ravenclaw quidditch captain so he does have some form of responsibility and does want to leave Hogwarts with winning the house cup. Maybe that won't happen as Gryffindor usually win but Adam won't give up.

1. Once every two months Adam will sneak out at night, to the forbidden forest to confront the shadow. Adam thinks he could be turning crazy at times but it sometimes put's him at ease knowing that he can stand up to a fear, even if it doesn't help cure it.

2. Adam hates being in Ravenclaw. He hates the fact that he is just a nerd to someone (But you wouldn't dare say it, unless you like to get jinxed)

Ethan is slightly shorter than the average boy his age and of a slim but not unhealthy build. His fingers are slim and full of tiny paper cut scars from leafing through books. His face is soft, but not feminine and his eyes are bright and eager to learn.

He has soft auburn hair which drapes over his forehead and cheeks, 'fair' skin. He wears black plastic framed glasses over his blue eyes. Though his most noticeable freckles are on his face, he has them all over his body from nose, to shoulders all the way down to his hands and feet.

Ethan is a boy who prefers the life of fantasy and creativity to his own reality. As such, it's unsurprising to see him with his nose in a book or his hand busily moving behind a sketch book.

Since the first time he discovered the Harry Potter series, every year on his birthday when his parents said to make a wish when he blew out his candles, he would wish that he might get his Hogwarts letter. On his 11th birthday, his parents even gave him a fake one, but he knew better. His birthday was in March, and those letters come during the summer, before the next school year.

When it comes to his interactions with others, he's apprehensive at first, but once he gets into his comfort zone, he's quirky and enjoys speaking on most topics with great enthusiasm.

Likes:

• Practical application of magic. Ethan believes that there are some things that can only be learned hands on, and that magic can only grow to it's full potential with practice.

• He loves to draw. Drawing is a way to release all the creativity and inspiration that is trapped up in his head. It lets him live things out that he never figured possible in his own life.

• Reading, especially the Harry Potter books. The world that was captured on those pages is truly one of magic, and not just because the characters can cast spells. The friendships and the vibrant world they live in is something that makes him wish he lived alongside such people and places. Reading for Ethan, is an escape.

• Though he was never really close to anyone, he enjoys observing others. It allows him to see friendships between people his age in reality, instead of just learning about them through novels.

• Despite his lack of friends in the 'normal'/'Muggle' world, he really likes to be around others, and will be absolutely chuffed to spend time with friends once he makes them.

Dislikes:

• Ethan hates being picked on. But what kid enjoys such a thing anyway?

• Being asked 'what kind of girl he thinks is cute' or 'who he likes' makes him incredibly nervous. The idea of the fact that there is no type of girl he likes, or the person he likes being a guy getting out...well, he doesn't want a repeat of primary school.

• Problems he can't solve. Being someone who thinks with a critical yet creative mind, finding problems who's solutions evade him frustrates Ethan to no end.

• Getting angry is one of the things he hates the most. He's a fairly gentle and dreamy sort of person, so when he gets really angry, it all bursts out. His ears get red, his voice loud, throat feels scratchy and he clenches his fists so hard his knuckles become bone white. When he's angry, he even scares himself, and hates that he can become such a person.

• Dark Magic, especially the Unspeakable Curses. However, he doesn't hate those who find it interesting on principle. He just doesn't see the point in such horrible magic outside of hurting others. As happy as he is that magic exists, he thinks perhaps spells like this shouldn't.

Strengths:

• He's got a gift for spell casting, and works hard to perfect it so that he can make spells more efficiently. Even though it seems to come to him naturally, he continues to practice at it. For example, with Lumos (which creates light) even though he might easily create a small, dim light, he continues to work until he makes a larger, brighter light at the tip of his wand.

• Creativity. He's good at both the act of creating, and at creative thinking or problem solving. This helps him find other ways to do something when one way just isn't working for him.

• He is more open-minded than some people, which allows him to be accepting of ideas/beliefs and people which others might look down upon. He doesn't have a prejudice against any of the other houses in Hogwarts, knowing that not all Slytherins are evil and so on. New ideas are something he loves, as it works wonders with his creativity, and even if someone's idea wouldn't work, he still likes to hear it.

Weaknesses:

• He finds potion making difficult. There is no room for creativity or and margin for error in it. If he makes the slightest error the whole thing could explode, turn a different color, smell disgusting or countless other things which would be very bad.

• When it comes to group projects, he's a bit of a pushover. If his group partners shoved all the work onto him, he would do it without hesitation, so that he could get a good grade and possibly make friends. When others don't let him do some of the work, the opposite happens. He feels discouraged and frustrated at not being able to contribute, but unable to butt in as he'd feel rude for doing so.

• Though he's fine with flying, he isn't very good at most athletic pursuits, and wouldn't make a very good Quiddich player. At first, he was bummed out by this, having read Quiddich through the ages and memorized all the rules of the game. Eventually he accepted it, seeing as being in the wizarding world was still an amazing thing.

Fears:

• He has a big fear of loss. Loss of family, friends, and the loss of his own creativity and passion to learn and grow as a person. The idea of feeling so empty because something is now missing, terrifies him.

• He's also afraid of the dark. This fear has haunted him ever since he was a kid, and woke up in the middle of the night while his parents were on a business outing. His night light had stopped working, door was closed, and eerie shadows were cast over his entire room, making him too afraid to move. He held himself, sniffling until the sun came up.
Stories are a way to escape the world we live in. Stories let you meet vibrant people, and see beautiful places that couldn't exist. This is exactly how Ethan Hardwick feels, especially when it comes to his favorite series, the Harry Potter books. His parents realized how inspired the books made their son, and would always take him to the release parties for each novel, to his delight.

His life wasn't all 'magic and novels' however. His parents were away from home a lot for work, and so he grew used to being left on his own. At a fairly young age, he asked the teacher why all the fairy tales she read to the class were about a boy and a girl falling in love. Why couldn't two boys find their happily ever after? It was then that he'd both realized he was gay, and that his status as 'friendless' had been cemented in his elementary. He was 'weird' and 'creepy'...so others didn't want to play anymore.

Being on his own, he spent a lot of his time reading and drawing. He used to draw himself with Harry Potter, both Gryffindor boys holding their wands and smiling. Or he'd draw himself looking up at two pairs of shoes with Luna Lovegood, both barefooted Ravenclaws pleased to have found their lost property. He had books full of his drawings, which became better as he practiced and learned how to draw things with more detail. Books of art and books of worlds he wanted to visit. Books surrounded him and became his friends when no people would. Books were never mean to him.

Family: His parents are both successful businesspeople, though he was never interested enough to figure out what exactly it is they do. Even if they were away from home a lot, they're a loving pair and he's thankful for them.

Pet: A sweet tempered rat named Hamlet who enjoys sitting on Ethan's shoulder.

Secrets:

• He keeps his sexuality a secret, being nervous that he'll be picked on for it like he was in Muggle schools or worse, since at least those kids didn't have magic at their disposals.

• His fear of the dark is one he tries to keep secret. He makes sure that the curtain around his bed is kept slightly drawn so that the moon and stars' light can peek in and give him some peace of mind.

• Feeling like it would make things more awkward between himself and those of half or pure blood, he keeps the fact that he loves the Harry Potter books a secret, and studies books like "Hogwarts a History" eagerly in hopes of learning more of the world from non fiction text, than from fiction which was based in fact.

Boggart: His Boggart makes the area around him get darker, and pools of blood, with the bodies of those he cares for around him. It gives him a feeling of hopelessness and emptiness.

Patronus: A Timber wolf
He has a plush Timber Wolf, which he sleeps with at night. Its name is Lupin and he is not at all embarrassed by having it.

Kieran has messy, out-of-place, brown which he cut himself to make it look messy. He has deep blue eyes and pale skin. He is has slender figure, coming in at 5'3 tall and weighing 123lbs. He isn't athletic at all, and had pretty much no muscles.

He needs glasses to see, and isn't ashamed that he has to wear them. His glasses are what your typical geek would wear: big, black and round. He usually wears a black t-shirt with a picture of DNA going down the front and jeans, with black socks and black and red trainers. Quite obviously, he prefers to wear Muggle clothing, but he never refused a chance to wear his Ravenclaw House Hogwarts robes, even before he was sent to Hogwarts.
Kieran is a socially-awkward science nerd who prefers to be left alone. He would much sooner sit in his room playing video games than go outdoors and actually talk to people and make friends. Actually, he is terrible at making friends, because whenever he tries to make one, he has a panic attack, which makes everyone think he is a total weirdo. Which he is, but that's not the point. The only people he can make friends with are fellow Nerds or Geeks, who are pretty much his only friends. He has higher than average IQ and is awesome in lessons, but he is terrible at sport. He isn't athletic at all, and prefers to sit down and read a book than run around on the field.
The books he enjoys reading most are the Harry Potter series. He fell in love with them the moment he laid hands on the first book, and ever since had been dreaming of going to Hogwarts. At first, he considered himself Gryffindor, because all the good guys were in that house, but as he got further in the series he started to consider himself Ravenclaw. Of course, this made sense because of his IQ and interest in 'magic'. He is a proper bookworm, and Harry Potter is the thing that turned him into one.

Likes:
- The Harry Potter Series. Everyone who knows him knows that he is a huge Potterhead, and has read the whole series several times. It just gives him a sense of adventure, and a hope that there is more to life.
- Video Games. He is a massive nerd, so video games just come naturally to him. Like books, they give him a sense of adventure, and a hope that something amazing will happen to him later in life.
- Books in General. He is a huge bookworm, and reading books is one of the things he enjoys doing most.
- Magic. Even though for years he has been told magic isn't real, he has always loved the idea of it. Even though he is obsessed with science, the total opposite of magic, he has always wished magic was real. And then he found out it is.
- Science. He is a huge science nerd, so... Yeah. Even though he wants magic to be real, he loves the fact that science is real.
Dislikes:
- Bullies. After being bullied through primary, this is normal, right? Besides, what kind of kid doesn't not like bullied?
- People who don't like Harry Potter. Harry Potter is his life, and anyone who complains about it is his enemy in his mind.
- People who think they are Harry Potter fans, but haven't read the books or seen the movies. This is, like, his Pet Peeve. If you haven't even read the books or seen the movies, how can you be a fan of it? It just makes no sense...
- Sports. He hates watching sports almost as much as playing them. Sports just isn't his thing, ok? However, he could watch Quidditch all day. Not play it, but he could definitely watch it...
- Socializing. He is social-awkward, so actually talking to any random passer-by is something he will never be able to do.
Strengths:
- He is exceedingly clever, mainly with science. To him, science is just something that comes naturally to him.
- When he goes to Hogwarts, he will find that he is gifted with potion making. Casting actual spells never comes naturally to him, but mixing things together to create something new is something he finds quite easy.
- He can often slip around unnoticed, so he can get away from situations he doesn't want to be in fairly quickly.
Weaknesses:
- He is terrible at sports, or anything athletic. He just isn't build for that sort of stuff.
- Being muggle-born, he struggles casting actual spells, but makes up for that by being pretty good at potions.
- Socializing is one thing he simply cannot do. He is socially-awkward, and tends to have panic attacks when forced into a social situation.
Fears:
- Large Crowds. He isn't claustaphobic, he just doesn't like being in large crowds. It makes him nervous, even more nervous than casting a spell.
- Explosions. His father died in one, so this comes naturally to him.
Kieran was born in Nottingham, living with his single father in a small apartment. His mother, Anne Julian, had left her boyfriend after Kieran was born, leaving Kieran with him. His father, Tom Gregory, worked as an experimental scientist, and he wasn't really at home much. This lead to Kieran mainly being raised by a babysister, who looked after him as a newborn baby and as a toddler, before taking him to school each morning and picking him up in the afternoon. The babysisters name was Kiera Jones, and soon enough she became his second 'mom'. While not being related by blood, they were related by bond, and were sorta best friends, if you know what I mean. However, since he pretty much spent all his time with Kiera, he never really made any friends. To be fair, he was never confident around other people, and sometimes he was even abit awkward around his dad! Kiera was the only person who he could confidently talk to, and she was the person who knew him the most. One day, on his birthday, Kiera brought him an old gaming console, the DSi. He instantly fell in love, and it wasn't long until he became completely obsessed with video games.
His dad soon found out what Kiera was doing: dragging Kieran out of his life. When Kieran was 7, his father brought him to work, down at the lab. He introduced him to science, and he loved it. It was as if he had entered a video game itself, and he was the main protagonist. It wasn't long until Tom realised just how clever Kieran was, so he decided to sign him up to a good school. This is when he discovered Harry Potter. At the time, it was an incredibly popular book series, and the teacher read it too them in class. When he was 8, Kieran began to read the entire series, and was finished by the time he was 9.

For the next few years, he was obsessed with both books and video games. Kiera no longer looked after him, instead his father came home from work earlier. However, when Kieran was 9, one day he didn't come home. Instead, some one who worked at the lab come, and told him the bad news. His father had died in an explosion. With no parents, Kieran went to live in a Care Home, which he obviously didn't want to do. However, this changed after two years, when he got his letter. He had been accepted into Hogwarts! The people at the Care Home obviously didn't believe him, so he ran away to London, to get into Diagon Ally then eventually go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry...

Family: His mother was called Anne Julian, but she left when Kieran was only newborn. His father was called Tom Gregory, and he worked as an experimental scientist. He died in an explosion when Kieran was 9. Kiera Jones was kinda like his second mum, but never actually became part of the Gregory family. His guardians are the workers at the Care Home.

Friends: He was never good at making friends. Kiera was perhaps the only one, but she was forced to leave.

Enemies: Luckily, none so far.

Secrets:
- The only people he told at the Care Home about Hogwarts was the workers. None of the children living there know anything about Hogwarts, nor why he ran away. In fact, he didn't even tell anyone why he was running away!
- He had always kept his love for video games a secret. He didn't know why, but he never wanted to tell anyone, not even his father. The only person who knows is himself and Kiera.
- He never told anyone why he was so afraid of explosions, nor how is father died. He didn't want to cause any trouble about that, and, by trouble, I mean he didn't want anyone sympathising with him.

All beauty has its expiration date, and for Annabelle it came earlier than most. She was quite the sight, in her salad days. Long curls of golden-brown cascaded down smooth, pale skin and stopped just short of an ample bosom. Her eyes were a deep blue, like the open ocean, and her lips were full and cherry-red. Now, her hair is dull and flecked with silver, her skin belying wrinkles and evidence of old bruises. Her eyes no longer pierce as they did, and her lips have wrinkled like her skin, a ripe peach rather than a fresh-picked cherry. She still stands shorter than average, though has not quite yet lost her posture. She stands straight, in proud defiance of age, and walks with no less energy than she did a score of years previous. Cords of muscle lie below the formerly-perfect skin, her body hinting at danger beneath the inviting exterior. She moves with purpose, alighting on each task and executing it without delay. Her smile was rare when she was a lass, and only rarer now, but is still wide and entreating and warm. Her scowls are perhaps the only beneficiary of the passing years, rightly feared by misbehaving students.

She speaks quickly and succinctly. She is not one to waste words, not beat around the proverbial bush. She is patient with her own affairs, and eminently impatient with the petty problems of others. She does not fidget, nor pace, nor make idle action. She furrows her brow slightly in though, and exhales when finished. She looks at everything carefully, but ignores little: keenness of focus has been traded by passing time for breadth of understanding, and Annabelle is keenly aware of this fact.
Annabelle was not proud to be sorted into Slytherin. The house had poor connotations, and its inhabitants did little to rid of her preconceptions. She wondered why she had been cursed to the ‘evil’ house. She realized, slowly, through a hundred tiny events and a few rather large ones, during her time in Hogwarts, that she very much enjoyed success. She followed her ambition and catered to it, and with each victory she built a progressively stronger adoration for winning. Now, over thirty years on, Annabelle hates failure. She hates plots that go awry or events that could have gone better. Annabelle’s ambition is nothing less than optimization, and next to this lofty peak very little is acceptable. Annabelle is rabid in her self-improvement, always looking for a way to better herself, even in the smallest way. She wants the world to be a better place, and will take no action without guilt that is not just or beneficial in her eyes.

Annabelle analyzes. She schemes. She processes information and uses it to the best of her abilities. Two decades ago, she was brash. When she was a student, she was almost insufferable. Annabelle learned from these experiences, and the unfortunate results she suffered as a result, and has changed herself. She does her best to be courteous and polite, to always make allies and never make enemies. She expects excellence from her students, though they will very likely not measure up to her exacting standards. Annabelle is no stranger to wearing masks, and has long since stopped trying to pretend like any one is her uttermost self.

Likes:

Annabelle strives to know what she desires, and why it is beneficial. As such, she expects fulfillment and despises her own failures, or the inability of others to produce results.

Annabelle has always been rather attracted to wealth. Constant understanding of its usefulness in achieving favorable results has instilled to her an irrational affinity to easily-fungible substances or items.

Secrets are very often the keys to success, Annabelle knows, and she craves them like an alcoholic craves whiskey. Not all hidden facts are equal, but all are precious to someone, and by extension, all are precious to Annabelle.

Time in the service of the French has made Annabelle particularly fond of French cuisine, both magical and otherwise, ports of call in her turbulent past occupation.

Annabelle has always had a particular attraction to bearded men. Not even Annabelle can explain the origin of this, despite her myriad attempts.

Dislikes:

An unfortunate run-in with a crazed Elf in the forests near Pyongyang has instilled into Annabelle an irrational dislike for Elves of all kinds, despite her best efforts to cure herself of the affliction

Idiocy. Annabelle has lived her life attempting to rid herself of that most common of human afflictions, and seeing it in others fills her with the same disgust with which spiders fill arachnophobes.

Ignorance. In the both the muggle world and the magical, ignorance is a choice. Whenever individuals choose ignorance, Annabelle feels a part of herself die. Whenever someone trumpets their ignorance like a proud achievement, her blood boils.

Blood Purism. A wholly unsupported hypothesis perpetuated in past by political demagogues and now through near-hesychastic belief.

Death. The worst possible outcome, forever to be avoided, never to be praised, and eminently un-heroic.

Strengths:

A career of soldiering has left Annabelle a very capable battle witch. She prides herself on her combat ability, and keeps it well honed.

Annabelle has collected extensive magical lore in her years of avid personal research, and has honed her memory to a keen edge in its constant recollection.

Empathy, in the more literal sense. Annabelle has trained herself to better understand the minds and feelings of those around her, a skill that has saved her more times than her dexterity with a wand.

Weaknesses:

Annabelle is prone to self-delusion. She fights it every step of the way, but has watched herself justify the extraordinary or terrible for goals not necessarily noble or worth such sacrifice as she is willing to offer.

Annabelle is prideful. Hubris is perhaps an overstatement, but a lifetime of purposeful and mostly consistent success has left Annabelle with a strong fear of failure, but little actual expectation of her own inability.

Annabelle has noticed a recently-forming vindictive quality, one she is finding harder and harder to suppress. Revenge constantly seems more tempting, the very good reasons for avoiding such overreactions holding less and less water.

Fears:

Death. She will stop at nothing to avoid it, and to keep the undeserving from its jaws.

The aforementioned Elves, to some extent, with a deeper, more crippling fear of Dementors, patronus charm or otherwise.
Born to two wizarding parents in a sleepy hamlet outside Manchester, Annabelle’s time at Hogwarts started rather poor, and became much more fulfilling as time went on. The blood purism, self-actualized villainy and ignorance of Slytherin house constricted her like the snake it bore on its banner. Only after research, understanding and no small amount of luck did she begin to understand the weight of Salazar’s intentions and his true philosophy. As her mindset shifted, and her desire for optimization grew, she found the halls of Hogwarts, now full of individuals who either held her in high regard, affectionately or otherwise, or were cast against her on purpose. The halls of the school were a treasure trove for her, the library a delight unequaled before or since. She never made head girl, out a lack of desire more than anything else, but otherwise was delighted with her scholastic experience, and was sad to leave it behind.

18 years old, Annabelle MacAlistair was itching to see the world. The British Isles were so constrained, so small in comparison to the wide expanse of the world. She spent a long while wandering among muggles, her contact with them before fascinating despite its brevity. After a year learning how the other 99% lived, she cast about for excuses to travel the world, and visit interesting places, and the French Foreign Legion (the magical one, of course, though she had considered the mundane outfit for a time) stuck out to her as the obvious choice, fulfilling both her desires for excitement, combat and a cavalcade of interesting vistas.

She was not disappointed with her time in the service, and remained there for nearly twenty years, earning French citizenship and an officer’s commission. She fought a blood-coven in the dunes of Algeria, combatted zealots in the ruins of Babylon and rode dragons in an absurd joust above Marseilles. She discovered the lost Horn of Scaramantus, and developed an improved version of the standard anti-apparition spell.

After a brush with a most foul dark wizard in the forests of Albania, and armed with knowledge she had sought for so long, she decided to retire her military career. Beauxbatons offered her a position, but she politely declined, instead applying for an open position for Charms Professor at her Alma Mater, which she was very grateful to be accepted by.

Family: Frequent, brief romances and a long fling with a Spaniard magician-monk named Juan-Carlos led to neither marriage nor progeny, and with no brothers or sisters her only living relative is a Bavarian uncle with whom she has spent perhaps one hour in the company of throughout her entire life.

Friends: Too numerous to list in full, though her trust is very difficult to achieve and almost impossible to retain. Currently, none she calls friend has it in any significant measure.

Enemies: Thousands in some form or another. A lifetime of plots and desires does not make one popular by any means among fellow players of the great game. There are none who would currently sacrifice their life to end hers, and she counts that as a sterling success.

Secrets:

Is currently, furiously searching for a means of immortality outside of Horcruxes. Despite her hatred of the sacrificial magic, she has considered making one more times than she can count.

Annabelle conceals her affinity for Muggle science from an ignorant and largely prejudiced British magical population

Suffers from occasional, serious bouts of kleptomania, for which she takes a potion every month.
