Almost every trainer's goal is to become champion of their region. Win eight badges than beat the champion. Unfortunately because of the frequency of which trainers are able to challenge and win has made the title and status of champion completely worthless.
In order to combat this the International Pokémon League Committee has ruled that a Chanpion will keep their title for six months. At the end of the six months all trainers with eight badges of that region will compete in a tournament. The winner will have the opportunity to take on the champion for the title.
As the would be champions come together a new threat emerges from the shadows.

That is the basics of the rp. This takes place five years after the recent generation Wether it be Gen 9 or beyond.
