Rules:
  1. As stated before our characters will start at students so they'll in their teens ranging 15 to 17, though ranges can change once we leave act 1.​
  2. Again our characters will be inexperienced so please keep that in mind when making a character, a character can still be talented without being overpowered.​
  3. For sake of simplicity every character will have one Partner Pokemon.​
  4. I'll trust you guys to choose starter Pokemon, obviously no legendries or what not. If you do choose a pseudo legendary keep in mind that they do evolve super late.​
  5. Base stats are clearly just to show what a character is good at, we all have 300 to spread out for act 1.​
  6. Like pokemon people also have affinity to types (Basically works the same way that regular types work) Magic that a person can use is heavily derived from their affinity.​
  7. And remember to have fun! And feel free to contact me if you have any ideas, I'd love to work them out!​

Classes
Classes are basically a characters archetype that define what role they play, keep them rather basic for now such as Squire for martial, Scholar for magic, and rouge for steath. You're free to make up your own just again keep them basic, you'll be able to improve each act (Similar to fire emblem classes).

Personality
A splitting image of her late father, though only in will. Jeanne is a paragon of virtue in the making. She tries to embody everything a chivalrous knight should be, and unyielding wall for the weak, and an upholder of justice just as her father was. Unlike most nobility she treats common folk with respect, though mostly out of obligation she doesn't have any feeling of superiority over them, just as a protector. Though a part of this behavior is enabled by the looming shadow of her noble house, with two older siblings it's clear that Jeanne is the runt of them, and she knows it. Even at her age her brothers exploits and talents far exceed her own, and because of this Jeanne often pushes herself too far in order to meet the standards set by her noble birth.

Despite all of this Jeanne herself hasn't seemed to buckle under the pressure, or at least she can mask the pressure and stress that often clouds her mind. Jeanne is often Naïve, most in part due to her young age but she does have a habit of seeing the world in black and white, often seeing bad deeds without any insight. Albeit young Jeanne is both a capable fighter and leader who's willpower is unshakable.

History
The last child of Lord Jules Dampierre and the only girl out of three kids. She was raised like any child of House Dampierre, swept into the Order of Aura to become one of their knights. Though even from a young age it was clear that she was not cut from the same cloth. Her aura abilities had awakened late and Jeanne had trouble controlling it. What was seeming natural to her siblings was a challenge to her, swinging a blade, feeling other beings auras, and even reading their thoughts. Despite showing clear effort she was lagging behind not only the expectations of her house, but of her peers as well. But that didn't stop Jeanne, day and night were spent training, only stopping for necessities. Some say she nearly felled a tree from striking it so much with her sword, the only thing stopping her was her dull blade. Through hard work and effort she was able to catch up to her peers and even excel beyond them, at least by a hair. Though noble birth and show of skill Jeanne was accepted into the Santalune Academy of War and Magik, though mostly through her noble heritage, where she studies to this day.

Squire of Aura
A young knight in training. Squires are a sort of jack of all trades when it comes to martial combat, lacking the expertise in a certain field when compared to their more experienced counterparts. While lacking the offensive capabilities of warriors and the defense of a knights a squires versatility can still make them a valuable asset to the team.

In Jeanne's case she is A squire of the Order of Aura meaning she differs from other squires, thanks to her heritage. Albeit weak she can harness and manipulate aura, using it to bolster both the stats of her allies and herself. As well as imbue her own attack and body with aura. Though currently this ability is weak, she will temper it like a molten blade over time. Due to the tradition of Aura Knights she is locked to using only swords and medium armor.

Powers and Talents
Aura Manipulation ~ A staple of House Dampierre, a long lineage of powerful aura users. Being able to tap into the minds of others, and sensing another beings aura even when they cannot be seen. Aura seems to manifest itself differently, for Jeanne she currently has access to the following powers:
  • Aura Boost ~ Boost an creatures stat by one stage​
  • Aura Strike /fighting/ ~ Imbue an attack with aura, dealing more damage​
  • Aura Sense (weak) ~ Sense other living being nearby, limited to a 5 foot range​
Swordsmanship ~ While not a master swordsman like her brother, Jeanne is considered above average when compared to her peers.

Leadership ~ A Dampierre talent, Jeanne is able to bolster and inspire her comrades. Taking charge and bearing the weight of leaderships comes natural to her.

Willpower ~ Jeanne's will is unshakable, where other fall to despair Jeanne stands strong.

Personality
A girl of many mysteries, Choko is cunning and elusive yet charming at the same time. She is a smooth talker and she can quickly turn conversations to fit what she so desires with little to no effort. She is good at reading others and has no trouble putting on an act to trick another to get what she wants. As mischievous as she is though, she does do it for a reason. Though she is into thievery she does it to help the less fortunate and she only tends to steal from those of higher class or claim "unclaimed treasures". At the same time she is also willing to fight for others given how heavily driven she is by money. She isn't the most ideal fighter nor does she have much combat skill, but she still finds ways to get the job done. She is a tricky girl that will do whatever it takes to get her way. As bad as she may seem to be, Cho can be a decent friend or ally to have. She may be untrustworthy at times, but she is loyal to those that put their faith in her. At times she is a bit of a loner and much rather be with her Pokemon partner than anything else, but she does find it useful to have some others to rely on in case she is in need of help. She truly doesn't like being alone. She won't admit it, but at times she can be a bit more dependent and clingy towards those she's genuinely interested in. She hates this side of herself yet she has no way of avoiding it though she will try to play it off. She isn't one to let others on to her feelings often in the first place. Cho often will try to get away when people come to question her on her feelings or act as if nothing is wrong. She is rather calm and collected after all.
History
A girl who was born among the commonfolk, Choko was brought into the world to a struggling family. Her father was an artisan, specifically one who made and sold jewelry of all sorts. Her mother was a simple housewife caring for her and her four siblings, while occasionally helping the neighbors during harvest time in order to get food to put on the table or simply earn extra money to help them get by. It wasn't much, but it was the lifestyle Cho would be raised in. Unfortunate circumstances would befall her family when her father's shop would be raided by thieves and all his work stolen. This would be the event that stirred Cho to take her own stand. Even though it wasn't nobility that had hurt her family, it were the nobles she would target. She learned the art of thievery as a young teen. While still a new thief, she has made a small name for herself among some of the poorer commonfolk that she tends to give to. Despite this, she keeps her thievery on the low when around her peers at the academy. Choko was only accepted into the academy purely by recommendation by a man who knew of her skills and convinced the staff that she was worth having among the student body.
Powers / Skills
Pickpocketing - As a thief, Cho is a natural pickpocket. She can pass a person by and manage to snag important items if they aren't suspecting it. The more suspicious others are, the harder it becomes to steal, but she finds clever ways around it.

Stealth - While not a master, Choko is no slouch in the stealth department and it is her main calling as a thief. This skill allows her to sneak around almost completely silent and keep others guessing on where she might be. As an added bonus of this skill, Cho is capable of using it to up her own evasion by one stage, making her difficult to catch.

Dagger Proficiency - Despite not being the greatest fighter and relying heavily on her speed and evasion, Cho is still capable of using daggers with some skill, albeit only slightly above the average person. Even so, she still carries around twin daggers to protect herself with.

  • Appearance: Renault is a Tall, athletic young Squire that is known to wear heavier armor than most of the students that he sees. He has a couple of scars from various fights he had as a child, and those scars are still present to this day. His blue eyes are something that most people are surprised about. He has semi long tied back brown hair, typically kept under a helmet.

    His armor was his father's when his father was younger, around his age, and is a set of Splint armor, meaning it is mostly metal strips attached to Leather that serves as the backing, and has chain mail in the joint areas to protect those areas. His boots are similarly crafted, alongside the armor on his legs. He has a large sheath on his back opposite his things to hold his Greatsword when not in use, alongside traveling. He has a backpack that contains useful things for traveling on foot.

Personality
{ ⚜ A quiet individual, Alphonse usually would rather keep to the background of a room and shy away from the center of attention, and the scholar carries himself with an air of calm superiority because of his House. Most assume that he's colder in personality like his fellow Scholars due to being naturally quiet, but that couldn't be farther from the truth- if you get him talking, he's incredibly outspoken and naturally empathetic, often speaking his mind even when it might put a foot into his rear for what he said. Alphonse is also highly curious, which does not help his outspoken nature, and has put him in trouble with the Scholars on more than one occasion. But being so empathetic to others has his faults, and sometimes his worries and self-doubts fill his mind to an extent where he becomes self-destructive and isolates to quell his thoughts; as a result, he allows himself to be easily distracted by items, Pokémon, and sometimes people to an extent. }

History
{ ⚜ Having grown in the colder climbs of Kalos, Alphonse is the son of High Lady of Frost Camille and High Lord of Frost Basile, while being the younger sibling of a pair- the other sibling being his older sister and next in line by coercion for the position of High Scholar, Murielle d'Rivière. His house of birth- the full title being House Rivière of the Scholars of Frost- while smaller than the House of the Hawk and located in the Duchy of Snowbelle, is made up of High Scholars and holds them in high regard to serve as equals to knights in the realm of combat- both as bringers of health and bringers of harm, and both siblings were, once of age, brought into the Scholars to become one of their own at Basile's behest. Despite the pressure of the rigorous regiment that the scholars placed on their apprentices' heads, the siblings persevered, and eventually tapped into their affinity rather early in training; this revelation showed that the siblings had what seemed like a surplus of affinity, a fact that surprised Alphonse and scared Murielle. The two siblings, while shared in affinity, were now on separate paths of training- the position of High Scholar was actually offered to Alphonse before his training fully finished, but he declined the offer over seeing his sister in such a state of buried panic as she turned to tomes to see if the surplus of affinity had any negative effects on the self. By noble blood and his magical affinity, the younger brother was accepted into the Santalune Academy of War and Magik where he resides, and sometimes sending letters to his sister to assure her of his studies. }

Scholar of Frost = A magic user with training in House Rivière of the Scholars of Frost. Scholars excel in magic, whether its to help their allies or hinder their enemies, at the expense of higher defenses; for House Rivière, their affinity of magic leans towards ice-type. Alphonse can be able to bolster and bother with cold snaps and soothing frost, albeit with only limited skill- over time, more vigorous training can occur to hone and increase his power to levels on par with High Scholars or even a High Lord. }

Powers and Talents
{ ⚜ Ice Manipulation = Being a Scholar of Frost means a natural affinity of ice magic to tap into- whether it's a soft snowfall or a harsh wind chill. So far, Alphonse has three skills he can use at any time, each with limited charge based on affinity stores.
+ Aurora Veil: Boosts the defense stats of an allied target by one stage each.
+ Icicle Spear: Forms shards of ice and hurls them at the target, inflicting continuous damage for multiple turns.
+ Icy Wind: Summons a gust of blistering cold air, which lowers the speed of the opponent.
Tactician = Being trained for combat ensures that Alphonse can quickly think up plans on the fly to the extent that his body is able to do, and is observant to a fault in order to catch smaller details. }

A Pokémon chosen by Alphonse after being accepted into the Scholars of Frost; the house gave him free choice of a number of ice-type Pokémon to choose from on a field, and the scholar found a Snorunt hidden away from the rest. After slowly coaxing it out of its shell, Alphonse accepted the ice type and pursued his training. Treating it with kindness and patience, the Snow Hat Pokémon soon latched herself to Alphonse's side, and the two are now deeply connected and have more recently been able to anticipate and sense each other's emotions. Alphonse is trying to learn how to directly communicate with Snorunt in his spare time.

He views life as a gift and finds it a waste to just sit around and do nothing with it so it is very likely he is to be found tinkering or fiddling with something every hour he isn’t asleep. HISTORY:
House Eventide, located in the Duchy of Anistar was once a prideful order that used their ghastly abilities to keep balance between what they defined as good and evil. Though time ended up being not very kind to the name Eventide as their numbers slowly started to dwindle due to members not producing heirs and with time their power of the small region swayed in and out of authority. Ezekiel was born into this dwindling House as a spark of hope to its few members, well… he was supposed to be that. It was quickly learned that this child was not of The Lord of Spirits and his faithful bride, but instead a bastard child between the Lord and a Commoner. The next few years of young Ezekiel’s life were spent like many children of Eventide before him as he learned how to control his inherited prowess and how to wield a blade along with his studies. Though the tattered family lines were soon to snap as the assassination of Lord Eventide was carried out and the House was disbanded.

Holding resentment to the child, the late lord’s wife wouldn’t take Ezekiel in and instead casted him out to whatever was beyond their comfortable ways of once living. Luck however was on the young boy’s side as he was taken in by a band of mercenaries. The group honed the child’s skills with blades, and how to move swiftly in the face of danger. On top of that they gave way to the most important lesson of all, to have heart.

After many years of raising the child, the band of mercs had grown dry of lessons to continue Ezekiel’s training. Not wanting to waste the potential they saw in him, they submitted him for admittance to the Santalune Academy, noting in his application his noble heritage and skill in combat. Ezekiel was accepted, and as much as he denied this new path his found family said their goodbyes knowing that this was the best for their little wraith. So Ezekiel has now attended the academy for a couple of years now, studying hard to keep up with the expectations placed onto him.

    • When one takes up arms with mighty brawn but also the flow of winds. This mercenary boasts high damaging prowess with broadswords, daggers or simple hand-to-hand combat, while also maintaining great swiftness. Though due to this he falls behind defensively.

Those born to House Eventide have an innate connection to the realm beyond our own, being able to connect and manipulate the souls or spirits of themselves or others. Not to be confused with the power known as “Aura”, the prowess of the name Eventide doesn’t necessarily bolster the power to strengthen attacks to the body but more so one’s own being, their soul.
While Ezekiel was only able to learn minimal from his family before tragedy struck, he learned how to aspect his family’s magic with time, mistakes and repetition. With time, the young man was able to create unique spells that can’t be traced to the history of House Eventide, despite falling under the same manipulation of the soul.

  • Soul Divergence (Ghost, Physical) : Ezekiel can coat his attacks in a ghastly presence, causing their damage to be delayed which can seriously confuse unexpecting foes. He currently can only apply this effect to his own body, and not his armaments. The attacks delayed by Soul Divergence can only be delayed for 45 seconds, and the attack potency is halved.
  • Vital Spirit (Passive) : Never tiring, as tiring leads to mistakes, Ezekiel is slightly more resistant to effects that affect the psyche. (Ex: Sleep or Confusion)
  • One-Man Army (Status) : Fear is a strong tool, Ezekiel uses it well as he amplifies his presence to strike an opponent’s soul with intimidation. This is a great way to lower their guard or offensive capabilities. His devilish red eyes just help add to the scare factor-

  • Bladed Weaponry : Specifically the broadsword and daggers, Ezekiel is capable of using these weapons efficiently though his mastery lies more within the sword.
  • Hand-To-Hand Combat : Ever been caught without a weapon? Well, Ezekiel has trained to where he alone can act as his own weapon if necessary.
  • Swiftness : Never slowing, never faltering, Ezekiel learned from his found family to run, climb, and crawl with the flow of a river.

Many in House Eventide were given Honedge as a partner, though for reasons more than one Ezekiel was special in what he received. Knowing his child may be targeted due to how he was brought into the world, The Lord of Spirits gave the young one a Pokemon he believed would be capable of protecting him. A Scyther, later named “Calibur” by Zeke. Despite being a Pokemon, for a short time the Scyther acted like a parental figure for the boy and was very helpful in his training with a blade. To this day, Calibur finds it his duty to protect Ezekiel despite the boy’s fighting prowess.

  • Appearance: Aurelia stands around 5'5", on a slim frame, her hair is a mix of brown and white, and is typically tied back. Her blue eyes seem to have a more positive outlook than one would expect. Her slim frame has a mark on her left arm, which is typically put on those on the House of Blanchien, a mark shaped like a Snover. She wears light clothing in the colors brown, white, pink, and blue. She has a set of armor forged by the Blacksmith that Sir Adélard Bonneville had both his and his son's armor forged. It is a set of scale mail, made from the various materials that were accrued by The Blacksmith, and was designed with Aurelia in mind. It is a Suit of armor fitted to Aurelia's Specifications and will not be likely to fit if taken by others.

Personality: Elodie is a bright, friendly girl who loves meeting new people. However, she also has a tendency to get nervous and anxious, especially in new settings. She often overthinks things when she gets overwhelmed, which sometimes leads to her embarrassing herself or making mistakes. Despite that, she’s very determined to live up to the praise that her teacher gave her.

History: Elodie is the daughter of two bakers. She grew up in Laverre Village learning her family’s trade alongside her two sisters. When she wasn’t helping around the bakery or studying at school, she often managed to sneak away to the wilderness to play. One day, she went in a little too deep and got lost. She wandered around until it eventually got dark. She panicked, unsure of how she’d get home, until she managed to create a small flame orb in the palm of her hand. She was initially shocked by the discovery that she had magical talent, but she quickly began walking through the forest with her new light. As she walked, she spotted another small ball of fire moving towards her. Once it got close, she saw it was a Litwick. The Pokemon helped guide her back to her parents, and she asked Litwick to stay with her as her partner Pokemon.

Her powers came as a shock to the people of her village. While she continued helping at her parents’ bakery, she also tested out her powers and read what few books she could find related to fire magic. When she was 15, a traveling fire scholar passed through her town, and Elodie was quick to ask her for training. While the scholar couldn’t stay long, she decided to spend some time teaching Elodie the basics after seeing her potential. The scholar left after a few weeks, but not before telling Elodie that she had great potential. A year later, the scholar returned. She told Elodie that she recommended the young girl to the academy, and she had been accepted. After saying goodbye to her family, Elodie and Litwick set off for Santalune, excited to begin their formal training together. After arriving, Elodie devoted herself to her studies, pushing herself hard to prove her abilities and make her village proud.

Fire Magic - Elodie has the ability to weave fire spells. While she’ll learn new and stronger spells over time, she can currently use the following:
  • Fire Spin - Elodie encircles an opponent in fire, damaging them and hindering their movement.
  • Incinerate - Elodie hurls a ball of fire at an enemy, dealing damage and possibly burning and flammable items the enemy is carrying.
  • Fiery Dance - Elodie supports an ally by temporarily imbuing their weapon or attack with fire magic, increasing its strength and giving it a chance to burn a foe.

Personality: Contrary to what his dark clothing, weaponry and blood red eyes may suggest, Adrian is a very kind and friendly individual, not afraid to strike up a conversation whenever he can and his casual body language displays that he tends to be rather laid back. However, when the situation calls for it, his personality can change to try and fit the situation; from well mannered and formal when talking to superiors or cold and serious when on the battlefield, even going so far as to suggest killing anyone who he believes has it coming.

Because of the nature of his family (which will be explained more in History), Adrian has a soft spot for poor people, not afraid to spare them a coin or two and has a cold hatred for the wealthy folk who would exploit others or trample upon those struggling to get by. He one day wishes to start a gang of thieves that steal from the rich to give to the poor.
History: Born from the Tuatha Dé Family, once a house of thieves and assassins with the ability over shadows, Adrian's childhood was far from boring; Learning many things from both his parents such as etiquette, swordsmanship, thievery, shadow magic and thievery, both how to be good at stealing and counter those who try to steal. He was also on good terms with many of the servants of his house, learning how many of them used to either be poor people or thieves trying to get by, only able to do so thanks to his father offering them a job and helped them never go hungry again, Adrian was moved by his father's noble nature despite what he was taught, doing his best to live up to his example.

    Genlata, a beautiful desert city of gemstones, jewellery and shine. Despite the lack of plant life, it is a gorgeous place, with exquisite sandstone architecture, craftsmanship, clothes and more. However, the price of such a glamorous exterior is a very vain society. Outer appearances mean everything, almost suffocatingly so. Every single jewel, fabric, colour on your body is judged over there. If you do not conform with the latest trends and fashion, the exception being foreigners or tourists, you are mercilessly mocked and looked down upon.

    History
    Once upon a time, a young lady made a glamourous, unrivalled debut into high society, earning her the widely renowned nickname of the 'Desert Rose'. Her etiquette was impeccable, her bearing and knowledge exquisite. But merely a few months after her debut, she vanished without a trace, never to be seen at another ball or noble gathering ever again. As is the volatile nature of noble gossip, she was quickly forgotten, and time moved on without her memory.

    Thalia was born the youngest daughter of House Sojourn, a relatively newer noble house that rose to prominence merely a few generations ago in Genlata City. Eager to establish their standing for generations to come, her parents worked all their daughters hard from a young age, installing all sorts of cultural, historical, geographical knowledge into them as efficiently as possible, with etiquette and self-defence knowledge to boot of course.

    Thalia watched as her four older sisters suffocated at their hands. The eldest was deemed a failure, the second fell permanently ill from overwork, the third was outcasted from high society and the fourth become a knowledgeable doll with no soul. Thalia was her parents brightest and only success. But, she hated it. And so she ran away, far away, to Santalune City to live a life that she could call her own.

  • Joanna was born within the Dutchy of Shalour and is the oldest daughter of house Mounier. Being a relatively new noble house in the region, her family has always emphasized her education and her development to make her a worthy heir to her father, Alistair. This meant that Joanna was always immersed in her studies and didn't have much time to spend playing with a lot of her peers. Despite her family's best efforts, she never developed the same abilities as her father, instead showing talents closer to her mother's side of the family. She was never a strong physical fighter, but her magical capabilities always made up for that. Joanna's Ghost type affinity allowed her to show her magical talents and make her father proud. After meeting her partner, Gastly, Joanna's abilities only grew and her potential showed much promise. Her father, feeling the need to install House Mounier as a powerful force within Shalour for generations to come, sent an application to the Santalune Academy of War and Magik. The day she was accepted was the happiest Joanna had ever seen her father. Just before she left for the Academy, her mother became pregnant with her little brother, whom Joanna has yet to meet. She currently remains in Santalune City, where she hopes to grow her talents and gain enough experience to take over House Mounier one day.

The middle child of three, born to farmers making a plentiful but peaceful living as one of the wealthiest families amidst a riverside village. Newt was happily ordinary, living life among a group of friends who had average studies and a habit of slacking off to frolic. One of the most memorable events was his older sister, who had the ambition and competitiveness he lacked, setting off as a knight-in-training. Being eight years younger, he sent her off with good wishes before returning to his relaxing lifestyle.

During the years she was away, their baby brother fell ill during the winter. In one of a few moments of seriousness, Newt gathered his savings as an offering and set off to the local temple, wishing for his brother's recovery. It wasn't meant to be. His brother passed away a few days later. Yet, within the coming months, the village encountered good luck. Livestock multiplied, and the fields bloomed with vitality for one month, then two, until a year had passed. With the blessings centered around his family, the people agreed that it must be fate's way of easing their pain. Newt's perspective was a little different. Since that day when he had awoken with the ability to manipulate fate, he knew that there was no such thing as destiny. Every occurrence was merely a game of chance; it was up to an individual to decide what they could be.

Opportunity came to that little town in the form of trade and capital investment. His family chose to bet on the development, offering their crops, land, and savings to aid in the construction. After a decade of toil, it transformed their status to that of the founders of the city. During the eighth year, his sister was acknowledged for her accomplishments as a knight, further boosting their standing. Making use of those accomplishments, Newt's sister pushed him into enrollment at the academy.

Now he stands here, on the cusp of glory, surrounded by noblemen and commonfolk alike.

Personality: Like many within her family, Lucienne is a closed off girl of few words. She isn’t one to be all friendly to others without a reason, giving the cold shoulder to most of the people she meets. The only ones who get a chance to see a warmer side to her are Lucienne’s sisters, as their company is familiar and therefore “safe”. Having been raised within House Durand for much of her life, Lucienne naturally picked up on the stoic and serious disposition many of the house’s members possess, as well as looking at other people with a cold superiority. She views others with contempt, mistrust, and wariness, which often impacts her ability to make friends and form healthy connections. Even so, deep, deep down there are still pieces of her childhood self that remain – a young girl who used to not know much of anything, someone who was naive. A kinder, but sensitive girl who had to be buried deep within herself, never to be seen.

History: Lucienne was born as the third and youngest daughter of Lord Bertrand Durand and Lady Aurore Durand of House Durand, located in the duchy of Camphrier. The family she was born into was quite large, consisting of extended family like cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Among all the members of her family, however, Lucienne felt closest with her two older sisters. When she was little, much of her time was spent playing around outside with them. But as the trio of sisters grew older, their magic happened to awaken one by one, and soon there wasn’t any time left for playing, but instead their days were often spent training with other experienced poison users.

It was an adjustment for Lucienne, who experienced more difficulty in these training sessions than her sisters, but soon she found her footing. The more she got into the rhythm of a fight, the less she would stumble, and the more hits she could land.

But it wasn’t just training that Lucienne had to get accustomed to at a very young age, but also the larger world of nobility and the many houses that existed besides her own. Her family attended many events throughout the years, mostly so they could stand around intimidatingly, but Lucienne had to quickly figure out how to conduct herself in the public eye. Sometimes she wasn’t very good at looking relaxed and sure of herself, which was a weakness. A lot of the time, she appeared tense. In an attempt to compensate for this, Lucienne would try to figure out surface level information or rumors about some of the people who were in attendance, so she could use it against them if she had to. She wasn’t often the one people would seek out to talk to, but having something in preparation – even if it was mostly simple gossip – made her feel a little better. Being in an environment where it felt like everyone was competing with each other, it also felt like studying an enemy in advance.

Time soon passed. Lucienne’s oldest sister, Marianne, had already secured an engagement to a suitable enough young man. They would be married soon, most likely with a child in tow before long. Her other sister, Corinne, had completely thrown herself into training with her magic, dedicating herself to it day after day, doing more than was necessary. Probably as a distraction, since their parents had already arranged a marriage for her, an incoming wedding that’s meant to occur sometime after Marianne’s.

Lucienne, meanwhile, had spent much of her time reading about poisonous magic, as well as some other types she knew of. Once in a while, she wrote down what she'd learned, as well as some offhand notes about her day. Partially to kill time, but also to satisfy herself.

The days passed normally, until one day her father came into the room and asked what she knew of a certain academy located in Santalune City. It only took that question to quickly pick up on what her father wanted for her – to go to the academy and locate a good match for a future engagement. The clock was ticking after all, and it wouldn’t be a good look if her sisters all had husbands and Lucienne had nothing to offer.

Of course, her father mentioned other things as well, such as how an academy like that would be an opportunity to better herself and strengthen the family name. To show that the “poison within them” was lethal and above other magic and that their house was still strong.

Lucienne knew she couldn’t refuse, but a surprise like this felt quite sickening.

Francesca is always thinking about the next challenge, the next step, and the unknown and the new excite her. Naturally curious about others, even if it is for her own gain, she will always go out of her way to find out more about others and other things, even if she feels superior to them.

The noble is incredibly organised. Having hunted with her father since she was a child, she has learned skills such as preparation and attention to detail, and will always have a plan in place, whether it is a harbinger of good or bad fortune to others. She is extremely regimented in her routines and habits, and, surprisingly, giving her manipulative nature, has been known to put the work in – if she knows she’ll benefit from it.

Francesca, having been integrated into high society from a young age, gets a buzz from being social. She spends much of her time socialising with others, but also watching others and seeing their behaviour and how they interact. She has a wide circle of contacts – friends or no and does not shy away from being the centre of attention, but picks her situations for doing so.

She has been known to be anything but empathetic or friendly to others. A rule of thumb is if Francesca is being nice to someone, it’s sarcastic, rude, or perhaps it’s for her own gain. She derives a certain pleasure from insulting and belittling others, often in a sly or open manner. Society has been a chess game for her in the past, and it continues to be so, looking to manipulate situations to her liking for the fun of it. History

The eldest daughter of House Hesse, Francesca grew up with an interest, or rather, competitiveness, in hunting, archery, foraging, and trapping alongside her father, Otto. In between her time mingling with notable nobility such as her cousins in Couriway or studying whatever it is that nobles tend to study, she spent much of her time in the forests near her home.

It was out on one such excursion that she came across a Mareep, almost managing to kill her on her hunt. Despite sparing it, and her attempts to scare her off before she returned home, it followed her, keeping her distance and often loitering around her home. Eventually, Francesca begrudgingly took her in, dubbing her ‘Aries’, claiming she pitied her, and it would only be a temporary affair.

Francesca shared the same sentiment as her father when it comes to commoners in their social standing; they are a means to an end. This has been noted in her interactions with them, a genuine, fake kindness. Even with the one commoner that Francesca has known for some time and enjoys the company of, is only still around, because she finds her personality…’endearing’.

Francesca has her share of skeletons in the cupboard. Her father suffered horrendous injuries from a hunting accident, leaving him in a coma, and several questions. His daughter had attended him on the hunting trip, and while she was cleared of wrongdoing, rumours spread regarding her involvement, and her desire to seize control of House Hesse quickly and ruthlessly. She does not speak about the accident, nor fan the fires regarding the rumours.

She knows it will not be so easy attending the Academy without questions arising.
