Name:
Blaise Nimura

Age:
20

Region:
Kanto

Pokemon Team:

Lin
Lin was only a Pidgey when Blaise had caught her. After a long time of traveling with her, the two have grown closer and has a strong bond of trust. Lin is Blaise's first pokemon and has a strong attachment to her and the same could be said for the Pokemon herself. Lin does still like to perch onto Blaise which is the reason why he has thick gloves so that Lin could land on it. Blaise also likes exercising and training Lin through aerobatics.

Rowlie
With his big stature, Blaise does keep him within the confines of his Pokeball whenever he is around a populated area. However, he tends to let the Arcanine loose whenever it really needs its exercise as long as he is within sight. Blaise has managed to train Rowlie to the point where he can respond to whistles. Rowlie is still very curious in nature and can be seen snooping around. Though unlike before, the large form of an Arcanine would be enough to unnerve someone.

Violet
Named after the field of violets where she was caught when she was just an Eevee, it was purely coincidental that she were to turn into an Espeon and have the fur of her namesake. Retaining a curious nature, Violet can often be seen tagging along with Rowlie whenever the Growlithe wishes to explore - but Violet maintains a certain hint of grace whenever she moves. Repeatedly, her foresight has allowed for Blaise to avoid certain disasters that would have hindered his progress as he travels around Kanto.

Trap
One of the more hilarious stories when it comes to Blaise catching Pokemon is his encounter with the Ghastly. Unknowingly, Blaise had taken temporary residence in a small, dilapidated house and decided to stay there for the night. The Ghastly - a long time inhabitant of the house - decided to play around with Blaise. A night of terror passed with Blaise and his Pokemon on edge as the house moved around them. It wasn't until before dawn did they find the Ghastly and Blaise decided to catch it. Blaise has always been willing to put up with the Pokemon's mischevious and playful nature and often has fun watching it prank someone else once in a while.

250px-148Dragonair.png

Jewel
And rightfully named. The Dragonair had been given to him as a gift by an old friend when it was nothing more than a newly hatched Dratini - obtained through a shutting down operation of some poachers. His friend thought it a bright idea to hand it over to Blaise who had always been so adamant on getting something mystical for his photoshoots. While Blaise was hesitant at first - thinking it rude to rob the Dratini of the chance to live underwater - he had accepted after some convincing. Blaise loves Jewel to the moon and back just like his other Pokemon and has dutifully taken care and trained her.

latest

Vic
Blaise would often tell people that it was actually a challenge to take care of both Vic and Jewel - one reason would be because of their need for water and Vic needed colder temperatures. This would often lead Blaise to make trips to the colder regions when he could. He often takes these opportunities to train the others in harsher conditions while Vic can relax. The Dewgong himself is rather more carefree whenever he is allowed time to relax and tends to slip away, but always made sure to return to Blaise by the time he woke up.

Personality:
One wouldn't really call Blaise a hardworker but you wouldn't call him lazy either. He likes going on his own pace, never really rushing things. He understands that things fall into place when you make planned steps. You don't always need to rush ahead to get what you want. While this mindset had cost him some awards before, and some money even, Blaise doesn't really mind all that much. He doesn't have the fiery passion for Pokemon Battles that other trainers have, but he still immensely enjoys the Battles as he feels like he sees his Pokemon grow even more due to this competition. He has a particular fondness in learning more about Pokemon, but more importantly, creating bonds with them. Blaise can rarely be seen bitter whenever he loses - though he still likes to win of course - but he accepts when he has lost.

He is also a rather friendly soul who tries his best to not overstep his boundaries but also tries to be friends with people he meets. Understanding that there were times that people don't like talking, he respectfully leaves them alone. Though he is very big on silent gestures - buying shakes for people who seem down or offering them a smile and just generally being around them. Blaise hates seeing people sad or depressed but still understands when he isn't wanted. When opened for conversation, however, Blaise makes a complete turn. He likes talking about himself, about his passion, about everything just as much as he likes listening to other people.

Background:
Blaise, born and raised in Celadon City, had a rather regular life. He went to a Pokemon Trainer school though he doesn't seem to be as enthusiastic as everyone else. Instead, he took an immediate interest to photography when he was presented by his father with a camera. While he still greatly enjoyed learning more about Pokemon, he also preferred more to just take pictures of them instead of training them. He did manage to graduate though and a year after that, Erika - an old friend of his - invited him on a trip. Getting permission from his parents, he joined Erika on a journey around Kanto. Blaise had accepted mostly because he wanted to take more pictures of Kanto and he knew that being stuck in Celadon City wouldn't really give him much. Armed with only his Pidgey, his Growlithe, her Bulbasaur and her Ponyta, the two went off with bright vigor.

They were on the road for years but had finished exploring even before then. However, they found themselves constantly visiting other cities again and catching more Pokemon and making more friends. Blaise watched as the two Eevees they had - one to Blaise and the other to Erika - evolve into an Espeon and an Umbreon respectively. The two were immensely close just as Blaise and Erika had been. More time passed and Blaise had joined Erika in her venture to actually beat the Gyms this time around - and Blaise tried as well. In the meantime, he had also been working as a freelance photographer who sent in various photos of various sceneries as well as various events and having money wired into his account. It wasn't soon until Blaise and Erika entered a relationship after so long of traveling together.

When Blaise was given an invitation to a competition of sorts, he had readily accepted. Erika had promised to keep in contact but she was planning on traveling to Johto - the traitor, he joked - and then headed off to this competition. What excited him more than the prospect of watching Pokemon from different regions clash was the prospect of being able to take pictures of these various Pokemon he has only heard and seen from the internet (and the rare collector and traveler every now and then).

Extra:
A well-known freelance photographer even outside Kanto
Always carries around his camera and an extra digicam inside his jacket's pocket
Has been seen actually taking photographs even while engaged in a Pokemon Battle

Name: Tori Winter
Age: 20
Region: Johto

Venna
Species: Weavile
Gender: Female
Venna was Tori's first Pokemon. While playing with friends in Ice Path she ended up falling through a hole and Venna, a wild sneasel at the time protected the young 10 year old girl until help arrived. Since Venna was Tori's first Pokemon she has a very strong attachment toward her and the two have a very strong bond. Her move set consists of Ice Beam, Night Slash, Shadow Claw, and Dark Pulse.

Flare
Species: Ninetales
Gender: Female
Flare was Tori's second Pokemon and the first Pokemon she had ever caught on route 37 on her way to Violet City. Flare was often an attention seeker and loved being brushed and played with by Tori so Venna was often jealous of Flare and her two Pokemon weren't on the best of terms from the start but luckily as these two adventured with Tori they began to get along and do very well together in double battles. Her move set consists of Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Confuse Ray, and Quick Attack.

Gwen
Species: Crobat
Gender: Female
Before taking on the first gym leader, Tori decided to explore a dark cave near Violet City. There she met and captured Gwen, a wild Zubat. With her team of three Pokemon she managed to best the gym leader and was given her first badge. Gwen is probably one of Tori's most intelligent and fast Pokemon, tactfully poisoning and attacking over being a frontlines, bulky fighter. Her moves consists of Toxic, Venoshock, Air Slash, and Acrobatics.

Sparkle
Species: Ampharos
Gender: Female
While she was on her way to Azalea Town to collect her next badge, Tori came across a wild Mareep that she thought was so cute that she just had to have. Sparkle is probably the most friendly of Tori's team and loves to spend time with people outside of her Pokemon. She'll often give other trainers hugs and is very affectionate toward Tori. Most of the time Sparkle tends to travel outside of the ball and walks alongside Tori when they travel. Her moves are Discharge, Dragon Pulse, Thunder Wave, and Thunder Punch.

Stella
Species: Espeon
Gender: Female
Tori found Stella scrounging for food in a dumpster in Goldenrod City. Tori gave the Pokemon half her sandwich and Stella immediately became attached and decided that she wanted to travel with Tori. Tori caught the eevee in a pokeball with ease and she has been on Tori's team ever since. Her moves are Psychic, Dazzling Gleam, Shadow Ball, and Confusion.

Cressida
Species: Kingdra
Gender: Female
While fishing on the coastline near Olivine City, Tori managed to fish up and catch a wild Horsea that she named Cressida. Cressida was the final edition to Tori's team after experimenting and leveling different Pokemon to see what was best for her. Her moves consist of Dragon Pulse, Dragon Dance, Hydro Pump, and Bubble Beam.

Personality: Despite being known as the Ice Princess of Mahogany Town, Tori has a very warm heart especially for Pokemon and their trainers. She loves to travel and explore new places. She doesn't like being indoors for too long unless the weather is horrendous outside. She likes the crisp fresh air and the always changing scenery which is why she likes to go out so much. Even though she is a traveler she does have a soft spot for her family, mentor and hometown often missing them when she goes to other regions. She's also rather athletic and likes to stay in shape since she enjoys dancing and figure skating as a hobby. Tori is also fairly well rounded and skilled at quite a few things surrounding Pokemon, having worked as a nursing assistant at a Pokemon Center, a substitute gym leader, and even competed in a few Pokemon tournaments.

Background: Tori was born and raised in Mahogany Town in the Johto Region to two very skilled Pokemon trainers. She was the oldest child, only having one younger brother and had quite a pleasant childhood. One day while exploring and playing outside with her friends, she discovered the Ice Path and went down there to only fall down a hole. The Ice Path was cold, and she had no Pokemon so she was trapped, but out of luck a wild Sneasel managed to keep her safe until help arrived in the form of Gym Leader Pryce. The gym leader caught the wild Sneasel for her and offered to mentor the child and her new Pokemon. She happily accepted and started training at the Mahogany Town Gym with Pryce.

A few years later after she turned 13-14 years old, she really wanted to go on her own Pokemon journey. Her parents were nervous about letting her go but Pryce believed she was ready and packed her with a few Pokeballs, potions and other items for survival before setting off. She traveled all over the Johto region, catching Pokemon and forming a good team for herself. She eventually collected all eight badges, even beat out her own mentor and proceeded to challenge the Indigo League challenge where she unfortunately lost to the current champion Lance. Tori was extremely disappointed but Pryce and her family managed to cheer her up. There was even a point where Pryce had to leave town on business so he gave her the position of gym leader for a temporary amount of time. As a gym leader she was known as "The Ice Princess of Mahogany Town".

A few months later when Pryce returned home however, she wanted to adventure again and explore the other regions so she said goodbye to her family and set off on another journey to where ever the wind took her.

Name: Azura Mikio

Age: 18

Region: Hoenn

Pokemon Team:

Flame Fist (Blaziken) ♂

Azura’s Blaziken was received from his local professor as his first Pokémon, back when it was still a Torchic. Through training and battling other trainers, he managed to evolve in to Combusken and then Blaziken. He’s very disciplined, noble, and never loafs around when it comes to a battle. He stays inside of his Poké-Ball most of the time due to how big he is and how loud his heavy footsteps are. He doesn’t really interact with the rest of his party a lot and tends to train on the nearby scenery instead as he sees that as a better use of his time. In battle, he fights very honestly and delivers accurate and powerful blows to the enemy.

 • Blaze Kick
 • Fire Punch
 • Sky Uppercut
 • Bulk Up
Puddle (Vaporeon) ♀

A strange story; Azura found his Vaporeon as an Eevee. It was heavily injured and was laying abandoned in a puddle unconscious out in the rain. Quickly spotting the injured Pokémon, he picked it up and rushed it to the nearest Pokémon Center. Thankfully, the Eevee made a full recovery and was able to be released back in the wild. However, shortly after being released from the Pokémon Center, the Eevee instead decided to follow Azura instead of returning to the wild. Realizing that the Eevee was trying to make friends with him, he decided to keep her and named her Puddle as a reminder of how they met. The Eevee only a week later evolved in to a Vaporeon through natural evolution almost as if by destiny. Puddle tends to stay out in the open, as she hadn’t really been “caught” by a Poké-Ball. She is very playful by nature and is friendly towards other Pokémon. In battle, she is very fast, evasive, and quick witted. She enjoys watching others battle and cheering on her team.

 • Hydro Pump
 • Captivate
 • Aqua Ring
 • Muddy Water

Steel Feather (Skarmory) ♂

The Skarmory had been attracted to Azura since the start of his journey. He followed Azura out of sight from the air during his journey and had only shown itself once Azura has beaten the 6th gym on his journey. The Skarmory would watch the trainer by air during the day and when Azura was asleep, the Skarmory would leave behind it’s feathers, stuck in the side of nearby scenery where Azura could see. Once Azura had acquired his 6th gym badge, the Skarmory would finally show itself. Instead of battling the trainer, however, he willing let himself be captured. Azura, to this day, is still puzzled as to why this is but he is grateful to have him on his team. Azura named the Skarmory “Steel Feather” because of the steel feathers he left behind for Azura at night. In battle, the Skarmory is very fast and powerful, delivering powerful strikes and cuts at mach speed using his steel wings and razor sharp feathers respectively. Outside of battle, Steel Feather tries to be as elegant as possible in it’s actions, whether it be walking around or even standing in place. The Skarmory tends to shed it’s feathers when it feels joy or excitement, dropping it’s steel feathers with a loud thud and growing new ones overnight. Azura keeps Steel Feather in his Poké-Ball indoors but outside Azura lets the Skarmory follow him, most of the time on land but occasionally by air.

 • Steel Wing
 • Sky Drop
 • Double Team
 • Steel Sound
Disaster (Absol) ♀

Azura’s Absol is one of the reasons he’s still alive. Once while Azura had been walking through a field with Puddle and Howl (see below) by his side, the Absol had shown herself to Azura. Azura had known of the myths surrounding Absol and knew that danger was soon to follow it’s appearance. Still, he also knew the rarity of Absol and attempted to catch it. His Blaziken easily put it to a near unconscious state and he managed to catch it. Knowing the possibility of there being danger around the corner, he ran to the nearest shelter he could find. Only a couple minutes after there was heavy rain and TVs screaming that two legendary Pokémon had awoken and were fighting each other. He quickly rushed to the nearest Pokémon Center and saw the fight being broadcasted on the news, which he watched via a TV mounted on the wall inside of the Pokémon Center. Groundon and Kyogre were fighting in the middle of Sootopolis City. The fight progressed for nearly 20 minutes before eventually a third Pokémon had appeared. Rayquaza had come from the heavens and broke up the fight between the two Pokémon. The city had been saved and the heavy rain stopped shortly after. Soon after, his Absol had been healed from the Pokémon Center’s nurse. It was reported multiple people who were outside when the fight had begun had been injured or killed in the area from the fight between the two legendary Pokémon. If he hadn’t captured that Absol and went to the Pokémon Center to heal her then he could’ve been hurt or killed, so in a weird twist of fate he had been saved by a Pokémon that is followed by disasters. Thus, he named the Absol “Disaster” due to the disaster that followed her capture. In battle, Disaster uses it’s variety of moves with perfect execution and precision, taking a calculated and careful approach against her enemy. Outside of battle, Disaster is very timid and doesn’t typically interact with any Pokémon other than the ones in the same party she’s in.

 • Bite
 • Assurance
 • Psycho Cut
 • Detect
[Shiny] Howl (Mightyena) ♂

Azura’s Mightyena was a gift from his mother before he’d left on his journey to become a Pokémon Master. The Mightyena was his mother’s most loyal Pokémon on her team. His Mother told stories of how she encountered her Mightyena in the wild when it was still a Poochyena. It fought hard but fell short to her Pokémon because it wasn’t big or strong enough in it’s current form. She trained it and when it evolved it became one of her best and strongest Pokémon she had. It took a war to gain the Pokémon’s trust after being with his mother for so long but after Azura had earned his first gym badge the Pokémon had began to warm up to his new trainer. He was trained by Azura’s mother so he was very disciplined and can respond to any command without fault. In battle he exhibits his dominance on to the opponent and completely decimates his opposition with a few brutal and powerful blows along with his amazing speed to chase his opponents down to land said blows. Outside of battle, he usually appears beside Puddle and follows Azura out in the open. He is very loyal and protective of his trainer, staying on guard for anything that might attack his party. He originally didn’t like his trainer but nowadays he loves him as much as he loved his original trainer. After beating opposing Pokémon in battles he tends to howl in victory, which is why he’s nicknamed “Howl”.

 • Super Fang
 • Poison Fang
 • Crunch
 • Roar
Egg (Egg)

A mysterious egg Azura found before he went to fight the Elite 4, it’s still yet to hatch. The egg has two black jagged stripes running across the egg with the rest being a somewhat dark yellow.

Appearance (picture, description, or both):

Azura has dirty blonde colored, spiky hair with a black cap covering his head with a design depicting a Poké-Ball in black and white. He wears a white backpack with all 8 of the Hoenn gym badges pinned to the back of it. He wears a black T Shirt and dark grey jeans. He keeps what appears to be a green bandana in his back pocket half sticking out, which comes from his respective region as a reminder of his home, although someone that hadn’t come from the Hoenn region wouldn’t understand why. He has dark green eyes, a somewhat short nose, a curved chin, and an undefined jawline. Azura is somewhat thin and is tall for his age.

Personality:

Azura isn’t very social but can speak up once he begins to know the person he is speaking to. He loves his Pokémon like they were his own children and would put his life on the line to protect them. He’s passionate about battling and puts a lot of effort in to training his Pokémon for the occasion. Once he makes friends with someone he can be very friendly when given the opportunity.

Background:

Azura had grown up watching his mother battle with Pokémon, he knows the feeling of a Pokémon battle like the back of his hand. The pressure of the blows being exchanged, the feeling of dust settling in your eyes after a big attack, the drastic temperature changes that come from elemental Pokémon, all of it. He grew up watching these types of things. Unfortunately, his mother was the only one to teach him, as his father had abandoned his mother after learning of her passion of being a Pokémon Trainer. It never stopped him from experiencing the wonders of Pokémon battles. His mother single handedly influenced Azura’s life, from the passion she took in her battles to the amount of love she gave her Pokémon... she never fell short as a trainer. Soon it would be Azura’s turn to become a Pokémon Trainer and follow in his mother’s footsteps. At the age of 16, Azura got to choose his very own Pokémon from the local Pokémon Professor in his town. He looked at each Poké-Ball and every Pokémon inside of it. After hard thought, he chose Torchic as his very first Pokémon. Although his mother never took on the journey to becoming a Pokémon Master, Azura decided to take on that hard and long journey. Before leaving his mother had given him an extremely precious gift, one of her most loyal Pokémon... her Mightyena. With his new Pokémon accompanying him on his adventure, he set off for greater heights so he could make his mother proud. So, his journey began... that journey lasted almost 2 years of him training his Pokémon, making friends with new ones, and battling other trainers willing to fight. Eventually he had all 8 gym badges, he was ready to face off against the Elite 4. He dispatched of most of them easily with his beyond powerful Pokémon. Unfortunately he fell to the Pokémon Champion, albeit it was a close match. Despite his team’s efforts, he’d failed to beat the insanely powerful Pokémon Champion, with his diverse set of Pokémon in his party. He didn’t let it get him down, he would beat him someday... and so he purchased a certain clothing item the champion wore and put it in his back pocket, so he’d never forget what his next goal was and who he had to surpass. This competition that he’d recently been invited to seemed like the perfect opportunity to train for his rematch...

Extra(s):

Brackets with the word shiny in it means the Pokémon is shiny... obviously. Names in parentheses are the original name (or species name) of the Pokémon. Gender sign... well it’s self explanatory.

(Let me know if anything needs changed)
